The XFW love nothing more than to cultivate an outlaw image and do so by providing lots of weapons based brawls to contrast with the stylings of most other promotions. Always pushing things to the limits, XFW are one of many companies struggling for dominance over the East Coast as each ones tries to expand their horizons. Unfortunately for them, they are also financially the worst off as they frequently struggle to attract fans to their wild shows due to the non-family friendly nature of them. XFW have been credited with bringing the three way match to prominence lately, with many promotions around the world now picking up on that style of match and using it more.

Product Analysis:

.. will attract an extremely vocal fan base to the promotion's shows.

.. will mean that wrestlers are rated much more on popularity than performance.

.. will mean that fans will expect all wrestlers to be packaged with a proper gimmick and wont respond well to one-dimensional gimmicks as they expect gimmicks to be subtle and complex.

.. will attract fans who respond well to high risk matches.

.. will prevent the promotion from getting Afternoon, Early evening, Evening, Prime Time and Late Evening time slots on some networks.

.. will prevent the promotion from getting TV slots on Mainstream and Sports Specific networks.

.. will make getting sponsorship extremely tough.

.. will allow the promotion to not be rocked by wrestling industry changes.

"
Breaking news today has revealed the latest twist in the bitter East Coast Wars, as indy manager Phil Vibert (also known as Harry Flash) has completed the takeover of the DAVE promotion. In a press release issued today Vibert has promised to "shake things up" and "make a real impact on professional wrestling" by bringing an end to the East Coast Wars once and for all. He went on to say that DAVE has the best locker-room of all the east coast promotions and that through their hard work, DAVE will prove that they are a viable alternative to the more mainstream SWF and the recently debuted HGC promotions."

Haha.. Is that so. How cute
..

We'll see about that Phil.. Welcome to the dance, boy..

R P W

Rapid Pro Wrestling

Rapid Pro Wrestling, led by Preston Holt, are one of the warring promotions struggling for dominance on the East Coast of America. With the emergence of HGC as the new #2 promotion in the country, the East Coast Wars have heated up and RPW look to push harder to gain a stronger position in the US market. They promote a cutting edge style featuring a number of innovative Japanese influenced high flyers along with the more traditional brawlers and technicians, RPW shows are always exciting and packed full of all sorts of wrestling. Their ability to attract a family audience (unlike XFW or DAVE) has seen RPW become the richest of the warring promotions, and their links with CZCW and Preston Holt's personal wrestling school has seen the company able to develop some of their own talent.

P P P W

Philly Pro Power Wrestling

Philly Pro Power Wrestling are one of the leading promotions of the East Coast Wars, who until HGC's recent emergence and roster raiding were considered to be leading the wars. Their traditional style of wrestling may not be the most innovative or exciting but their tried and tested formulas ensure that they always attract a good crowd and that fans know roughly what to expect. Having lost several workers over the last 12 months to the giants of SWF and HGC, they are in something of a rebuilding phase at the moment and have been forced to feature more young talents than they have previously done.

Danger And Violence Extreme

On January 1st 1997, American wrestling's lead manager Phil Vibert completed the takeover of DAVE, advancing from the position of booker to owner. The move surprised few as Vibert had been openly stating that he wanted to own the company and had been steadily injecting more of his influences into the promotion, including pushing new stars and introducing more edgy material to their fairly traditional shows.

Now with the platform to do whatever he wants with the promotion, Vibert has made it public knowledge that he is not only going to war with the East Coast, but also with the Big 2 of the SWF and HGC, aiming to present a rebellious alternative far beyond anything his rivals could dream of presenting on mainstream TV.

The Insane Heat, 26.

Middleweight Brawler

The Insane Heat is a decent young worker, who mixes rugged brawling with some surprising technical skills. He plays a quasi-satanic character, which he unwisely once played on a show in the Bible Belt, and almost got lynched afterward. He has been one of XFW's lead characters for a while now as a result and became their champion in 1996, showing just how much potential the group believes he has.

Insane Heat is known for using tables, especially flaming ones to end his matches, usually driving his opponents trough em' with his deadly Skull Krusher finishing maneuver. On a few rare occasions Insane Heat has set up the table leaning on the corner and then finished his opponent off with the Flaming Anarchy turnbuckle bowerbomb, last time he used the move with the table in place was when he won the XFW World title from Shawn Gonzales back in November '96.

Shawn Gonzales, 25.

Middleweight Regular Wrestler

"The Lone Wolf" Shawn Gonzalez is a solid all-round wrestler and has seen his career rise rapidly since becoming the head booker of XFW where he is a two time champion. Deeply embroiled in the East Coast war, Gonzalez is one of the driving forces behind the promotion as it has largely been his creative ideas that have saw XFW gain the notoriety it has achieved. Prior to joining XFW Gonzalez used to work for DAVE but ultimately chose to join their rivals due to the backstage pull he would have.

There have been rumours that Duncan Kendall has removed Shawn Gonzales from the Head Booker position and replaced himself as the Head Booker due to slightly chaotic backstage and the special pleading coming from the other wrestlers who don't like a young main eventer handling the bookings, mostly because of the two title reigns Gonzales has already had.

I, Butcher, 20.

Light Heavyweight Psychopath

I, Butcher "You, Victim" is a unique violent brawler from New York city, who has been gaining a cult following thanks to his bloody fights, insane bumps and unique promo style. With a psychotic edge to him that stands out even among XFW's range of lunatics, Butcher will often recite promos as if reading from a diary, punishing anyone who interupts him witih merciless violence. Although he has only been wrestling for little more than a year, Butcher's unique persona has rapidly become a favourite of tape traders everywhere and there are rumours that he could be heading to bigger things thanks to the opening of HGC.

Butcher has the most demonic eyes in all pro wrestling due to a weird eye disease which has resulted in him having red eye for the rest of his life which really highlight his bright blue eyes even more, making his look even more crazier than he already is. Butcher is one of the more innovative psychopaths on the roster as he can turn pretty much anything into an effective weapon when wrestling.

Genghis Rahn, 26.

Light Heavyweight, Psychopath

"The Arizona Assassin" Genghis Rahn is a wild brawler, who has been brawling around arenas through the 90s and isn't afraid to put his body on the line to get a reaction from the fans. This disregard for his own well-being has seen him grow into one of XFW's most popular fighters and his bloody and violent '96 feud with I, Butcher has been one of the highlights of the promotion. Injuries are starting to take a toll on his body, but this has mostly resulted in Rahn becoming more outspoken to compensate, much to the delight of XFW fans.

Rahn has used the Sledgehammer as his weapon of choice since August of last year as it was that weapon that he defeated I, Butcher with to end their huge and long-lasting feud which was one of the better feuds of XFW last year.

Frankie Future, 26.

Heavyweight Brawler

Frankie Future is a big brawler from New York who was the first champion of XFW back in 1995. Since then he's been one of their top workers, combining his excellent mic work with above average brawling skills. Unlike many of the XFW roster he isn't insane enough to put his body on the line each night, instead allowing his experience to shine through and get the crowd going with charisma and psychology. There were many rumours that he'd join HGC when they were formed but he remained loyal to his hardcore, bloody roots in XFW and continues to play an important part in the East Coast war.

Frankie is one of the few men on the roster who can do more actual wrestling than hardcore stuff but even more than that he's one of the most entertaining guys on the roster as he plays his rich, snobby Evolution gimmick to perfection.

Duncan Kendall, 36.

Heavyweight Brawler

Duncan "Big Dunc" Kendall is a rugged old-school brawler who has drifted through various promotions throughout the 1980s and 90s. His career looked to be fading slowly after a brief failed run with SWF in the early 90s but since joining XFW he has upped his game and has broken out as one of their top stars. Well respected, he is one of the few men who seems to be able to keep any semblence of order within their chaotic locker-room. Many people don't know that he was the third incarnation of the Masked Patriot character before passing it on in the late 80s once he had developed his skills to a high enough level to be able to compete without the popular gimmick.

Kendall's finishing manuever, the Kendall Kutter, is one of the most complex looking finishers in XFW and is always featured at the end of every highlight reel on the tapes.

Aurthur Salvador Simpson, 44.

Light Heavyweight Entertainer

Aurthur Salvador Simpson has spent his career being branded one of the most difficult men in pro wrestling to work with. Strangely, this isn't due to any particularly bad character flaws but more a psychological issue where he can't seem to decide whether he is heel or face, leading to many veterans pulling their hair out whenever they have a match with him. Luckily for him he has found a home in XFW, where it doesn't matter if you are a heel or a face because the fans will ultimately make up their own mind and let you know. This has led to Simpson finally getting the break he deserves as he can now showcase his talents to the max, really cutting loose with some excellent performances in front of the hostile XFW crowds.

Simpson has one of the less impressive move arsenal but he balances it with charisma and experience as he's one of the better wrestlers as far as performance goes.

Bud Miller, 43.

Middleweight Entertainer

"Alcohol Fuelled" Bud Miller is a wrestler who is widely known for his drunken arena-wide brawls. Early in his career he preferred to be paid in alcohol rather than cash and was a really poor worker but after spending a few years wrestling like that he eventually started to develop into a decent worker who was willing to take a bump. In recent years he has started wrestling "drunk" and drinking during matches. In truth though, most of the beer he drinks ends up dribbling down his chin anyway and most of his drunkeness is faked but this hasn't stopped XFW crowds from lapping up his act and he has become one of their most popular acts.

Even though his finishing moves can look quite dangerous, he can do them perfectly safe as he's really good playing drunk. Even the wobbling Sidewalk slam that he does is one of the safest moves in XFW even though it looks dangerous because of the mis steps and fake drunken behaviour.

Grandmaster Phunk entered wrestling late in life and is certainly taking the hard way in, training with XFW who spotted his outstanding charisma immediately. While his in-ring skills are still developing, he also puts his charisma to good use and doubles up as a manager for those that need it. This has led to him being invovled in many storylines, often feuding against fellow wrestler/manager Randall the Vandal as the two men try to outmaneouver each other in their quests to gain power in XFW.

As this is XFW, his Pimp gimmick is considered to be a "Face"-gimmick as the crowd doesn't really mind the degrading, sexist attitude towards women.

Lightweight Entertainer

The Guru is a wrestler/manager from Maine, who realised early in his career that he wasn't exactly cut out as a wrestler. However, the indy scene isn't a great place for pure managers so he continued wrestling and found a home for himself in XFW where he plays an important part in many angles. He tends to get beaten up by the faces a lot and he has made himself an important part of the roster.

One of the aspects in his gimmick is the faked Indian accent which always gets the crowd going and laughing.

Colossus, 24.

Big Heavyweight Brawler

Colossus is huge man from Rhode Island with a completely unique ring style. Blessed with a lot of power thanks to his size, he is also suprisingly agile guy and he uses this in his offense a lot. His two main finishers are based around this as he uses a double handed choke bomb to finish most of his opponents but will on rare occassions break out a splash from the top rope that he calls the Death From Above, a move that no-one ever kicks out of. To add to his unique burly look he also usually wears a black skirt... with no real explanation why, although it has been rumoured that he used to be too poor to afford much in the way of clothing and has just grown comfortable wearing whatever he can get his hands on.

Colossus is the tallest man on the roster with his 6'9 height which makes his agile moves look even more impressive. Some insiders have already started comparing him to Dread, one of the most unique and athleticly impressive big men in the business.

Doug Peak, 17.

Heavyweight Psychopath

The Peak Brothers have been rookie sensations for XFW since making theid debut early in 1996, rapidly becoming known for being willing to bleed and perform insane acts of violence in order to ensure the crowd gets their moneys worth. "Dangerous" Doug Peak is also known to be one of the nicest guys backstage too, which is probably why so many of his opponents trust him to do what he does in the ring, although this niceness did result in Big Smack Scott trying to take advantage of him during a tag team match when Scott decided to take liberties. Eddie quickly intercepted Scott before he legitimately hurt Doug, which led to the match being thrown out and a lot of bad blood between the Peak Brothers and Big Smack Scott that has not yet been resolved.

Doug is one of the few in the XFW roster who other wrestlers truly trust when it comes to his finishing maneuver, one of the most dangerous moves in wrestling to date, the Cradle Piledriver.

Eddie Peak, 20.

Big Heavyweight Psychopath

1996 marked the debuts of the Peak Brothers and a new era of tag team violence. "Hardcore Assassin" Eddie Peak is an ultra-voilent brawler who specialises in matches containing the potent ****tail of blood, blood and more blood. By far the better performer of the tag team, one of the most notable incidents in a Peak Brothers match came when Eddie began to legitimately bludgeon Big Smack Scott for taking liberties with Doug during a tag match, causing the locker-room to empty and the match to be abandoned. Many believe that the Peak Brothers could go on to be a very successful tag team, but that they will almost certainly have to tone down the violence in their matches first or else they won't have a long enough career in which to become successful.

Time will tell if the Peak Brothers will stay together or separate and pursue their careers as singles competitors.

James Brandon, 20.

Big Heavyweight Brawler

James "Big Cat" Brandon is an athletically gifted young brawler with a lot of potential. Predominantly prowling the east coast for bookings, he splits his time between two promotions and two characters. In NYCW he is Big Cat Brandon, a feral wildman who can barely be controlled and will attack anyone who gets into his territory. And in XFW he is James Brandon, a vicious big man who seems to enjoy inflicting pain and suffering on others and is particularly adept at using weapons to his advantage. In either alias he has the same problem, that he often finds it difficult to engage an audience due to his lack of charisma. This should improve with experience though, and so Brandon looks assured of a bright future.

Brandon's Big Cat Pounce is one of the hardest moves to receive due to Brandon's huge body mass and size. Few XFW wrestlers have said that they'd take a dozen chairshots rather than get speared by Brandon.

Light Heavyweight Regular Wrestler

Debuting in 1995, Jimmy "Mr. Wrestling" Cox has established himself as a promising young talent due to a good grasp of the fundamentals and a good look. His most notable work to date has been with XFW where he has had several solid matches but has yet to establish himself as much more than a bland midcard face. His main selling point is his finisher, the Immortal Driver, a double-underhook facebuster which the fans love to see him execute onto a painful array of weaponry.

"Mr. Wrestling" nickname derives from the fact that even though he can do a bit of hardcore, he's one of the most techincally able wrestlers on the roster and the XFW fans have begun to really appreciate the actual mat skills of Cox as he utilises and mixes it with hardcore elements in his matches.

Gareth Wayne is a tough brawler, originally from Kentucky. He has many alter-egos that he wrestles under, including The Gambler, John Doe, and "The True American" Jorge Washington. Despite his range of characters, he has yet to really break into any promotion for any length of time. His recent performances with XFW have seen him begin to get some momentum, but it's more likely his work with the SWF's development promotion NEW that will give him his best career opportunies. Time will tell whether he can balance working extremely violent XFW matches with working family friendly style matches that the SWF would like him to work.

Wayne sometimes rides to the ringside with his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Once the damn bike got stolen in the middle of the show when Wayne had forgot the key in and a XFW fan jumped over the guard rail and rode off from the arena, never to be seen again.

With no apparent fear or regard for his own well being, Boone's aptly named finisher (Boone or Bust) seems to accurately describe his likely career trajectory, as he seems likely to pick up a lot of injuries wrestling in the style that he does. His trademark weapons of choice are clearly inspired by Professor Nero, with Boone always keeping his Singapore cane with him and often uses his wrist tape to choke people whenever he can get the chance to do so. He got his first career break when XFW hired him in late '96 to fill in some gaps in the roster created by HGC and it didn't take Boone long to make an impact, debuting in a bloody victory over Benjamin "Lightning Rod Of Hate" Moore.

Kurt Laramee, 20.

Light Heavyweight Brawler

"The King Of The Streets" Kurt Laramee is a tough, rugged brawler. His key strength is his charisma and ability to draw a crowd to him even though he is generally seen to be very weak in the ring. Willing to take some crazy bumps in order to get over, it seems that Laramee may have a career filled with wild matches ahead of him. XFW have taken a chance on the rookie and signed him shortly after he completed his basic training, allowing Laramee to make his pro debut late in '96.

Smokey Joe, 22.

Heavyweight Brawler

Smokey Joe is a heavyweight brawler with average skills. He doesn't have much depth as a wrestler just now but he is a decent enough brawler that he can get by. His character is basically that of an alcohol fuelled fist fighter but no-one seems to think that'll catch on.

Benjamin Moore, 20.

Lightweight Regular Wrestler

Benjamin "Lightning Rod Of Hate" Moore is a youngster with little in the way of talent but a huge desire to be a part of the business. His insane willingness to take some sick bumps has gotten him noticed by the bloodthirsty XFW crowds, and his flip plancha dive to put Madman Boone through a ringside table not only resulted in a highlight reel spot, but also bust him open as the table splintered, leaving both men a bloody mess.

Dream Girl, 21.

Dream Girl is a stripper (real name unknown) who accidentally stumbled into wrestling after a conversation with notorious troublemaker Big Smack Scott one night at work. It seems he promised to make her a star and after the initial arguments with Duncan Kendall about making such promises he seemed more than happy to have her around. While she is pretty much incapable of doing anything except look hot she does a good job of that and the mere presence of her at ringside is enough to make a bad match be... well, largely ignored while the fans get their money's worth at ringside from her. And to be fair, she makes a fair amount of money herself in the process.

Melissa Melons, 22.

Lady Melissa is a porn star, known popularly as Melissa Melons, who is now also a low-level valet on the independent wrestling circuit. Her naturally bubbly personality makes her a hyperactive presence at ringside and she fits right in with XFW's rebel image. Its not uncommon to see fans trying to get their hands on her "merchandise" after shows or trying to chat her up during matches. Unsuprisingly, her clothes have a tendency to "fall off" during shows.

Nicole Kiss is a talented young valet who has been working in the business since she was just 19 years old. A solid interviewee, and charismatic ringside presence, she is a versatile and useful member of any roster. Her youthful exuberance has helped attract more fans to XFW who are more than happy to capitalise on her sex appeal at any given opportunity.

Referee

http://koti.mbnet.fi/sadhappy/XFW/Ryan.jpg

Ryan Holland, 24.

Ryan Holland is a good referee, who has been working for XFW since its debut. He has turned out to be a very good referee despite the lack of traditional style matches he actually gets to referee. He often takes a very hands on approach to refereeing when needed and isn't afraid to get involved when necessary. Has also completed some basic wrestling training in case he wants to step into the ring one day as a competitor.

Road Agent

Jean-Pierre Baptiste, 52.

Jean-Pierre Baptiste is a French Canadian wrestler who is best known for his work in CWF during the 1970s and 80s. A good technical wrestler, he was the company's first champion before the arrival of Dan Stone and friends, and then went on to form a fine tag team with Frenchie Marcel which had a series of great matches with the Calgary Wolverines. Nowadays he works as a road agent.

Thanks man, you're a long time fan :) Hopefully I'm able to avoid the writers block.

Awwwwwwwww..... SNAP!! ;)

Looking forward to this, FIN!

Thanks Eisen, really appreciate it.

Woo Hoo! Let the blood spillage begin!

You bet.

I really hope you can keep this running my fellow countrymate. :)

Do I have a reputation here or something? :p

1. All of the best hardcore characters of the time are at XFW. DAVE are only somewhat superior because their main event can pull a better ME than anyone else, drawing an often awful under-card to the best grade on the East Coast

2. I'll be interested to see if you take Gonzalez and Heat out of the ME straight away or not. They're good, but they can't take XFW to the level they need to beat DAVE.

3. Have you set Jerry Eisen's roster size preference down from Massive to something normal like Large? Otherwise it's potentially mindnumbingly game killing.

4. Is the strategy to kill your opponents on the East Coast? Because it might have to be...I once long played as DAVE and until HGC raided the other three companies I was regularly beaten the snot out of.

5. Pacts? Is a non-aggression pact with SWF and HGC coming? Although it would protect your awesome roster, it does feel like cheating a bit to have them.

6. Tommy Cornell: :D or  or :o or even...

Post #4 updated, read it! Roster Overview!

1. All of the best hardcore characters of the time are at XFW. DAVE are only somewhat superior because their main event can pull a better ME than anyone else, drawing an often awful under-card to the best grade on the East Coast

We'll see about that :p I haven't run a single show yet nor have I seen how DAVE performs in TEW10 so this is going to be one helluva ride for me. I'll play one event at a time to make everything realistic; Even I don't know what's going to happen, who's going to jump ship and so on..

2. I'll be interested to see if you take Gonzalez and Heat out of the ME straight away or not. They're good, but they can't take XFW to the level they need to beat DAVE.

Can't really tell you about my plans. Check out the cool alts, I love the Insane Heat one and others aswell.

3. Have you set Jerry Eisen's roster size preference down from Massive to something normal like Large? Otherwise it's potentially mindnumbingly game killing.

Haven't changed a thing.

I never do any positive pacts in my games as I think it's cheating, especially with companies that are bigger than the one I'm playing with.

6. Tommy Cornell: :D or  or :o or even...

Won't join XFW as I won't be hiring him. I try to make this look quite realistic so you won't see a lot of conservative people in XFW (Even though they may decline the negotations straight).

Jam packed roster my friend! I am pretty excited for this diary :p

Thanks.. A lot of future championship material on the roster.. Quite funny to play old mods as half of the guys end up in the big companies.. Let's see what happens this time. :D

Definitely looking forward to this, FIN. Tons of potential in XFW and the East Coast Wars as a whole. Should suit your style, much like Warrior Engine does so well. As always, you have a reader here.

Thanks man.. Yeah I think so too.. I think my 'mad genius' creativity will be let loose properly on this one.. I have several good storylines thought and planned and I have few new tricks in my sleeve regarding general diary style.. Hopefully you guys will like this one :)

Check who got the walking papers!

**

Gonna take this time to thank several people: Reaper for the amazing belt originals which I have edited to my liking. Tigerkinney, since he's the #1 in my mind and has been the idol for me (aww shucks!). Bigpapa42, another mastermind of diaries. Eisen-Verse, for the similar mind that we have towards gimmicks and hardcore wrestling, etc.. Even though I haven't used anyone elses alts: to all the alt makers of this community, awesome work you guys do. To Kamchatcha for the amazing logos!

Critical-23, FlameSnoopy and all the fans and readers that I seem to have and who have followed me from one diary to another, thanks guys. This goes to everyone who has read my diaries :) Really appreciate it and it makes this worth doing.. Hopefully I'll have a long run with this one.. Always learning from my mistakes with the previous ones I guess.. :p
