CZCW-Taking Over Coast to Coast

The Grand Avatar takes over head booking of CZCW!

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/TheGrandAvatar.jpg

"We're going to keep your successful formula... just add to it, add... alot to it."

That is the last thing I said to Cliff Anderson before we hung up. I'm not sure if he fully believes in me but... well, hell, he's got no choice. He can't keep having the Guru screw things up all the time. Don't get me wrong, he's a decent and I use that word loosely, decent announcer but he's not good at running the show. As long as CZCW has been around they should be up there competing with SWF or TCW. That's where I come in, I've paid my dues in the wrestling industry and I've shown I can help promotions in the past, CZCW will be no different. Cliff Anderson just needs to listen to me.

2010 marks a new era for CZCW, it marks the Grand Avatar era and I promise you things will never be the same.

Coast to Coast (Week 1)

CZCW Coast to Coast

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/CZCWc2c.jpg

Monday, Week 1, January 2010

Pyrotechnics shoot off as we open CZCW's Coast to Coast. This is the The Grand Avatar's first crack at booking since his head booker takeover earlier this month. We are live from the Grissom Auditorium tonight. The camera's pan around the nearly sold out arena of 1,992 fans, before finding it's way to our announce staff.

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/CliffAnderson_alt1.jpghttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/TheGuru.jpg

Cliff Anderson
- Good evening and welcome to another edition of Coast to Coast, I'm your host for the evening, Cliff Anderson, along side former wrestling star and manager, the Guru.

The Guru
- As usual folks the Guru here, welcome to C2C!

Cliff Anderson
- We've got a great show lined up tonight and we've also decided to break in the new year right.

The Guru
- You said you would let me tell them.

Cliff Anderson
- You're absolutely right Guru, go ahead.

The Guru
-To start the new year off, CZCW has taken what it considers it's top eight stars and put them into a tournament, with the winner receiving a shot at Fox Mask's Coastal Zone Championship at Revolution later this month!

The crowd pops at the announcement.

Cliff Anderson
-Tonight we'll have the tournament but that's not all, we've got the exciting Cali Dragons taking on the technical masters, Shoot Club, as well as a few other great matches.

The Guru
- Lets go ahead and get things kicked off. Our first match of the night features Going Coastal vs. Rich and Famous!

Segment Rating
- 28

Going Coastal vs. Rich and Famous

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/JeremiahMoose.jpghttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/CaliforniaLoveMachine.jpgVShttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/JackpotJordan.jpghttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/JakeIdol.jpg

The Guru
- I was excited there for a moment, two scantly clad women in a cat fight! C'mon Love Machine let her go next time!

Cliff Anderson
- Folks lets take a commercial break while I try and calm down the Guru here.

The Guru
- Well, we could use the ratings.

Commercial break.

Air Attack Weasel vs. The American Flash

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/AirAttackWeasel.jpgVShttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/TheAmericanFlash.jpg

We come back to the break with Air Attack Weasel already in the ring and The American Flash comes out waving his flag and slapping some hands along the way. He slides in the ring and our second match is underway. The two battle it out with some nice high flying action, The Flash makes a near pin fall but in the end the Air Attack Weasel surprises everyone as he hits Plop Goes the Weasel from out of no where to pick up the pin fall victory.

Match Rating
- 24

Cliff Anderson
- The underdog takes one home and the crowd doesn't seem to like this one too much, seems they favored the all-american high flier.

The Guru
- Call me crazy but the Weasel just has the it factor to me. I like his style.

Cliff Anderson
- Stay tuned folks we've got the current tag team champs in action next!

Commerical break.

Shoot Club vs. The Cali Dragons (Non-Title)

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/MarcSpeed.jpghttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/AlColeman.jpgVShttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/FrankiePerez.jpghttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/MikeyJames.jpg

The third match of the evening featured former champs against current champs in a non-title bout. The Cali Dragons started off strong really taking it to the champs but some under handed tactics allowed them to single out Frankie Perez and really work him over with double teams and holds. Finally, Perez tagged in Mikey James who cleaned house. James was then able to hit Dragon Breath for the pin fall victory.

Match Rating
- 46

Cliff Anderson
- Too bad the tag titles weren't on the line.

The Guru
- Yeah Shoot Club really dodged one there. Good team work from the two though, Mikey James just had a very strong performance tonight.

Tournament Brackets Hype

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/SnapDragon.jpghttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/RemmySkye.jpghttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/FrankiePerez.jpghttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/JamesPrudence.jpg

The Coastal Zone Number One Contender Brackets are shown on the jumbo-tron in the arena. The crowd pops a little for the stars involved.

Cliff Anderson
- Several former champions involved and several that would love nothing more than to be champion.

The Guru
- Makes for a great and interesting tournament! Can't wait to see how it all unfolds!

Segment Rating - 23

Cliff Anderson
- We've got two of those matches coming up next as Snap Dragon takes on Remmy Skye and in our main event the Insane Machine will face off against Donnie J!

The Guru
- Don't go anywhere folks, we'll be right back with some great action right after these messages.

Commercial break.

Cliff Anderson
- Welcome back and lets get things kicked back off with some first round action!

The Guru
- Two former Coastal Zone champions, going at it, for stakes at reclaiming the title. You can't ask for much more!

Snap Dragon vs. Remmy Skye

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/SnapDragon.jpgVShttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/RemmySkye.jpg

In what was an all out bout. The match started out with both competitors trading some technical moves before mixing it up with some explosive high flying that saw the action leave the ring several times. This match had great crowd reaction, the finish came when Snap Dragon and Remmy Skye traded a succession of pin attempts, Dragon hit him with a quick roll up for a flash pin fall.

Match Rating
- 47

Cliff Anderson
- Out of no where Snap Dragon scores the victory and moves on in the tournament!

The Guru
- That one could have gone on for days, those two are such great competitors.

Cliff Anderson
- Get ready folks, when we come back we'll have our main event of the evening as Donnie J and the Insane Machine are set to collide!

Commercial break.

Both of these hot young teams made their entrances and our first match of the night was underway. These two traded offense throughout with several close pin fall break ups from each side. The finish came when Jakki distracted California Love Machine with her assets allowing Jake Idol to hit Jeremiah Moose with the Reality Check for the pin fall. Afterwards, CLM had to hold back Little Miss Sunshine from going after Jakki.

Match Rating
- 37

Cliff Anderson
- Rich and Famous steal one here tonight in our opening bout.

Insane Machine vs. Donnie J

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/InsaneMachine.jpgVShttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/DonnieJ.jpg

And then it was our main event of the evening. Insane Machine made his entrance first and then the most recent former champion, made his. The crowd heavily favored Donnie J as he slapped hands along the way. The match began with some strong grappling and trading of technical moves before spilling to the outside where Insane Machine used his surrounding to his advantage putting Donnie J through a table with a suicide dive from the ring! The crowd gets behind Donnie after a close kick out. That's when James Prudence made a surprise appearance...

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/JamesPrudence.jpg

James Prudence
- Is this thing on?

Cliff Anderson
- It's James Prudence! What's he doing out here?

The Guru
- Sticking his nose where it doesn't belong, as usual.

The action stops in the ring as Machine looks out at the top of the entrance ramp. He then looks over at the ref with his hands out.

James Prudence
- Don't mind me Machine, I'm just here to observe the competition.

Donnie J gets back to his feet and walks up behind Machine who is just starting to turn around.

James Prudence
- Oh and watch this...

Donnie hits Machine by surprise and catches him with Death on Miami Beach!

Cliff Anderson
- Death on Miami Beach! That's all she wrote for Insane Machine!

The Guru
- Yeah and James Prudence isn't making any friends with that distraction. That isn't going to sit too well with Insane Machine!

Match Rating - 46

Segment Rating - 27

Cliff Anderson
- Unfortunately, we're out of time folks! We'll see you here next week live on National Pride TV!

The credits roll and the show ends with a shot of James Prudence laughing before dropping the mic and heading to back through the curtain.

Overall Show Rating - 43

Interesting angle you're taking here with Prudence helping out Donnie. Could there be a Fly Boys revival on the way?

I really like this write-up style. Just enough information to help flesh out the characters and storylines without becoming a wall of text. Should help avoid burnout too.

Keep up the good work, I for one looking forward to seeing more.

Quick Picks For Next Coast to Coast

Jonnie Perez vs. Brendon Idol

Hugh de Aske vs. California Love Machine

Jonnie Perez vs. Brendon Idol

Jonnie sucks something fierce. Talent most certainly does not run in the Perez family gene pool.

Hugh de Aske vs. California Love Machine

de Aske has no overness and CLM can be a megastar if he's managed properly. The more skilled but unknown worker does the job and makes CLM look good.

For a Shot at the Tag Titles

Insanity Inc. vs. Rich and Famous

R&R are former champs and Insanity Inc. seem to exist more to confirm Machine's mentorship of TAF than anything else.

Matt Sparrow vs. Mikey James

Tough one to call as Mikey's fairly likely to be making the jump to TCW as soon as they hit international. In spite of that, I think the Cali Dragon takes this and probably drops his match in the next round.

Main Event:

James Prudence vs. Frankie Perez

Another really tough call here. Both top level guys but both likely to be joining Cornell's mob sooner rather than later. I can't help but see Prudence as a Bryan Danielson-type figure in CZCW, capable of pulling a good match out of almost anyone, so he makes the most sense to take the belt from Foxy when the latter's main event credentials start to falter.

edit: I just noticed that I picked all the 'right hand side' competitors with the exception of one. Could it be a sign that Frankie's getting the win?

Will have to wait and see... Don't worry next show will be up tommorrow. As I are currently unemployed. :)

And big thanks for the feedback so far. I'm new to the site but not to ewrestling. I haven't played this much since the EWR days but I picked up 2005's freeware not too long ago and was hooked again, so then I bought 2010. Hopefully I don't screw up some of the Cornellverse backstory's too much. This is my second run through with the game. The first one I ran MAW two years in and then started my own promotion, I cheated and signed all written contracts so I didn't lose anyone and also edited some stats to make a few guys better. This time around I'm not editing anything, if someone leaves they leave. The only mods I made were putting CZCW back on National Pride TV (Which I'm sure we'll lose in 19 weeks) and turned off repetitive booking.

Possible New Additions

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/TheGrandAvatar.jpghttp://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f230/ifuctu/CZCW/People/CliffAnderson.jpg

Following Coast to Coast's semi-successful return to network television, I met with CZCW owner Cliff Anderson to discuss with him some of my ideas and the new blood I want to bring in to the company.

Cliff came in and sat down in front of the head bookers desk and I slid him a piece of paper. Out of courtesy I then put out my cigar.

Cliff looked over the names I had as potential CZCW new comers. He nodded as he read over a few, then shook his head at a couple before looking up at me.

"Not a bad first show but it doesn't grant you to do just anything. Some of these names are ridiculous." He says, still looking it over.

"Brendon Idol I like, Blonde Bombshell I like..."

I cut him off, "Yeah, I'm thinking of pairing the two up."

"Great, but what's with Jack Griffith? Paul Steadyfast? The Darkness Warrior? And really the Big Problem? Jack drank himself out of the industry, Paul's a great worker but he doesn't fit our style and neither does the The Big Problem or Jay Darkness." He tells me handing back my list.

"You're right, but you have to see the big picture. They've got name value, Jacks career is possibly savable. Remember a few years ago that guy was amazing, talent like that just doesn't go away."

"Neither does his drinking problems. I'll have to think about it but the Big Problem is a definite no."

"That was actually a joke." I smile, knowing I put him on there just to get a rise out of Cliff.

He smiles and shakes my hand, "Nice first show again... the last three on the list I like a lot but I'm not sure you can get them to come here..."

"I already did."

"You what?" Cliff says looking very surprised.

"Well, I knew you'd like them and like I've told you before... I've got connections..."

And how long do you think I have before TCW raids my talent? Looks like they're real close to improving to 41% in those four regions.

As soon as they rise in size (both to international and then global) I would expect Tommy to come a-knocking for any combination (from the current roster) of James Prudence, Frankie Perez, Mikey James and Fox Mask.

If you're hoping to go long term with any of these guys it's probably worth trying to set up a non-aggression pact with TCW. That being said, part of the CZCW challenge is surviving the constant raids from the big two and, in time, the likes of WLW. I can see the raids being a bit of a momentum killer in a diary though. Might make it difficult to keep writing. Pact is probably worth some consideration...

I'll give that a shot but honestly I'm looking forward to them raiding my talent. I just don't want to put a championship on someone who won't be there for much longer. Them leaving will allow me to keep bringing in some new talent and probably prevent me from booking the same thing over and over. From a storyline stand point it can be a killer though.

I think you should look to the north for some talent. Try getting some of the ACPW (I think that is the right name as I don't have the game opened up right now) talents as they fit CZCW pretty well and some of them (Sky King) have actual talent.

Yeah I actually looked at ACPW to start a fed with. It was between them, PSW, and CZCW. As for the negotiations they didn't take so it looks like I'll just get robbed when time comes :)

Anybody have any characters they'd like to see brought in?

I wrote this show like the last one but unfortunately I didn't finish it in one sitting and didn't save it before my computer shut down on me. I think the power flickered or something. Anyway, I'm going to switch to something a little easier that way I can get out more shows. I'll probably use the other write up style just for big shows.

Last Show Predictions:

unicron - 5/5

BHK1978 - 4/5

smurphy1014 - 5/5

Marvel Fromage - 3/5

Couple five of fives :) I'll let whoever has the most points at the end of the month decide who gets to be the next contender for the Coastal Zone title.
