I'm not very good at backstories, so this is short!

 

Sitting in his room Marty Ritchie is watching old DVD's and playing Mortal Kombat on his computer when suddenly - Darkness. He see's two flame torches and heads towards them. As he walks along the scene begins to appear, he realises he is in a throne room, but unlike any he has seen. He looks up at the concrete steps and is suddenly frozen. Sitting before him on the throne is Shao Khan!

 

KHAN: Ritchie. You have been chosen to take KOMBAT promotions to new heights in the KX Enterwrestling World. You have been chosen to finish off all opposition... or you will find yourself on the wrong end of a FATALITY!

 

...and so the era of KOMBAT begins...

Following a few days to get used to this new world, Marty Ritchie needs to decide on what would be deemed a suitable card for the next show (KONQUEST) and who he wishes to keep and who he will be sending to the KX Enterwrestling World Free Agents. He also has his eye on 2 new additions that he thinks will one day shine under the KOMBAT banner. He decides to call a press conference to introduce himself, and lay out his plans for the future of the promotion. He also says that Shao Khan and Quan Chi will team up in the main event of his first show in charge to take on who he believes to be two under rated performers... Nightwolf and Bo' Rai Cho. Will this main event pay off? Tune into KOMBAT Konquest to find out!

 

He says everyone on the roster will be given a chance to impress him, if they fail, they are history. It's time to band together for the good of the company and it's time for Outworld and Earthrealm to combine in an effort to dominate the wrestling scene. He also tells his employees that it will take time, but that Street Fighter Extreme will now have a serious fight on their hands!

Raiden: Tonight sees our new owner put me in a meaningless match, with a meaningless opponent. Kenshi, the Blind Warrior. Well, Kenshi is going to fall before me, and then I'm going to speak with Shao Khan about geting this Earthrealm "booker" fired and thrown into a Portal to Zaterra where the little reptile will fit in perfectly!

Ritchie: Well if it isn't the God of Thunder himself. The biggest turncoat in both Earthrealm and outworld combined! Raiden, you aren't bigger than this promotion, and you can tell Shao Khan what you want, because bottom line is this, I'm in charge! And seeing as you are so confident of beating Kenshi, how about we add a little stipulation to the match?

 

Kenshi: Tonight Raiden, if I beat you tonight, you will be banished from KOMBAT Promotions and both Outworld and Earthrealm!

Marty Ritchie is in the Soul Chamber when Reiko comes in to tell him Shao Kahn would like a word in the throne room. Ritchie gets up and heads off to see what he wants.

 

Ritchie: Reiko says you have something you wish to speak to me about.

 

Shao Kahn: Reiko would be well informed. As the owner of KOMBAT Promotions, I want to know the list of workers you had in mind to banish and who it was you were thinking of keeping out of those 15.

 

Ritchie: Well I wanted to keep it to myself but the list of 15 is as follows; Ashrah, Daegon, Dairou, Ermac, Rain, Sektor, Taven, Sindel, Sareena, Jade, Jarek, Kurtis Stryker, Bo' Rai Cho, Nightwolf & Nitara. As for which of them I intend on keeping, that will be decided by the workers themselves. We'll see just how badly they want to keep their jobs, because there is going to be NO predetermined winner. By the way, our first cut has already been made. Mokap is no longer here. He thought because he was aligned with Johnny Cage that he was untouchable, well as proof no one is untouchable I made an example of him and Banished him from KOMBAT.

 

Shao Kahn: {smirking} Sometimes I doubt myself in bringing you to this realm, and others like this I can see why I did!

What possible reason is there for that? I have beaten him, he is beaten, I move on to bigger things, he ends up wallowing in self pity and midcard obscurity. That's how it works... {Raiden is interupted}

Ritchie: Ok readers, things are soon going to change. The previous shows have been somewhat rushed, but it was just whilst I sorted out a "base" if you will on feuds and getting used to this "world". From here on out, the shows are going to be longer, the interview segments are going to be given more time as well, (no other skits really as I want a traditional fed that focuses mainly on in ring action - besides can you see Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung running around with an evil midget and still take them seriously? Didn't think so!). Also, "Ritchie" will disappear and replaced with an in ring character. Currently I'm training behind closed doors with one of KOMBAT's best, I'll not say who, but needless to say I won't be afraid to mix it up with KOMBAT's fighters. When I and my mentor feel the time is ready, I'll unleash hell on the promotion but not a minute before!

 

A new fighter will be debuting on Konquest this week. He is somewhat of a coup for the promotion and I know he'll be ready to kick some ass and break some bones!

 

16 releases over the last couple of weeks. These were neccessary to cull the bloated roster. Everyone was given a chance, and these people failed. C'est la vie.

People are asking who I see as the breakout star for Kombat this year. My money is on Kenshi. Yeah the guy is blind, but he is better than 90% of the guys who can see where their fumbling around! Don't be surprised to see Kenshi headlining a few PPV's. I've given him the opportunity, now he needs to run with it!

Raiden: For the last 2 weeks now I've been hearing this voice come over the arena saying "2 weeks until my FATALITY!" and other various threats. Thing is, whoever is doing this is a coward and I'm not in the slightest bit concerned! This week is THE week he/she/it will show themselves and to be honest, I really don't care.
