Heir to the Empire 2009 - a Board Effort diary

It might be next weekend before I get rolling full force on this but this diary will cover the events of 2009 that led up to the launch of the NACPW promotion in the "Board Effort for a Fictional Universe" mod.

Be warned before hand that this will be a short-term diary mainly focused on one character in particular: "Aaron Wright", with a handful of select supporting characters that may or may not be in the NACPW by its launch date.

Also, the plan is for a first person account of the events but may at times include reactions/comments by workers from this fed and others.

Edit: Also at times important bios may be posted to add to the backstory.

Legacy Part 1

Aharon Writzen: age 93 (still active color commentator)

Former owner of New Empire Wrestling

Grandfather of Aaron Wright

-Aharon Writzen was born nearly a century ago and became interested in pro wrestling in his teen years after seeing a legendary former German World Champion around 1925 in his hometown of Berlin. He later on began learning the craft from that same legend and made his debut in 1930 even competing before President Paul von Hindenburg. He formed a small wrestling company (New Empire Wrestling) with his mentor and recieved financial backing from the government.

Three years later as the National Socialist German Workers' Party began to take more and more control of the government, he made plans to leave the country.

He had gained a reputation for his ingenuity and eventually had formed enough friendships and alliances with American promotors that he was allowed to restart his company in the U.S., he eventually sold the company to his son in the late 60's.

Gideon Wright: age 60

Owner of Jewish Immigrant Pro Wrestling (JIPW)

Father of Aaron Wright

-Gideon is the oldest son of Aharon Writzen and the father of Aaron & Silas Wright. He bought New Empire Wrestling from his father in the 60's while engaged in his own wrestling career and renamed it Jewish Immigrant Pro Wrestling.

He was notorious for pushing Jewish pro wrestlers and holding down most other talent. Even though he did allow the occasional non-Jewish champion, most of the time it was to give an even bigger push to his jewish talent. This prejudice caused the company to be banned in some areas and also caused long periods of inactivity.

In later years as he prepared to pass the company on to his sons he allowed Leon Luv Money, his sons choice for booker, to take more control of the company's decisions and they were able to remove the stigma of being prejudiced by bringing in non-jewish talent and pushing them to everything but the World title. He has a love/hate relationship with his younger son who left the company for Puerto Rico in 2002.

(translated from Japanese) Winner and New Global tag-team champions “Sokudo & Yabanjin - the………….” <o></o>

The rest of it was drowned out by the crowd. My partner “the Super Patriot” had just finished up his run in Kokka No Wrestling and we dropped the tag belts to our long-time rivals Sokudo Akuma and Yabanjin Akuma (Speed Demon & Savage Demon). We all shake hands with each other as this was a tremendous match before Patriot and I leave the new champs to the crowd. As I head to the back my thoughts are on this possibly being the final time I get to work with ol’ S.P.

I’ve always wondered something about my partner, we seem to work together so well , almost like we’ve done it before. I’ve never seen him without his mask on so who knows, maybe we have. And now this is his final night so I may never know the truth.

As I walk through the curtain I see Rejiendo waiting at the gorilla position. He hands me three envelopes, bows and thanks me for all I’ve done. Odd, he normally thanks people like that when they’re leaving the company. A million things are running through my head as I walk down that long hall. As I ease into a comfortable spot in the dressing room I notice Super Patriot has already left.

Everyone in the room came around and thanked me as well. What's going on and why does everyone but me seem to know what's going on? Now that I'm real confused, Misuta comes over pointing at the envelopes. The only thing I get from his broken english is: “will explain”.

One envelope is full of cash and a plane ticket back to the U.S., the second is my release from the company that also states that I don’t have to fulfill any further contractual obligation. The third is the one that finally sets everything straight. My father is retiring and he wants me to come home.

Looks like my run in Kokka No Wrestling is over as well.

(through a translator) I was really disappointed to have to let this highly respected performer leave but I had to honor the agreement I made with the honorable Writzen family.

January 3<sup>rd</sup>, 2009

12:07am

I finally leave the coliseum after one last long walk around the place saying my goodbyes to people that had been a part of my family for the last two years to find my wife waiting for me near a limo that was apparently a parting gift. She approaches me and gives me her always beautiful smile and we walk slowly over to the car where our youngest son is waiting impatiently.

“Finally, we can get back to some real American food.” he blurted out with a cheesy grin.

We all had a brief but good laugh that snapped me out of the sad feeling that had gained a grip on me earlier in the night and the thoughts of real American fast food and seeing my two older children really helped pep me up on that long ride to Tokyo.

January 5<sup>th</sup>, 2009

(1 day layover in Los Angelas)

Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

7:18am EST

As we clear airport security we see Sasha and Shawn patiently waiting for us with my mother and Devon deftly slips through the crowd and runs to embrace his two older siblings. By the time we clear the crowd the kids are just chatting away off to the side and I notice my mother looks rather haggard. She pulls us to the side and lets us know we’re taking two separate cars and Devon is riding with the older kids. Little did I know the biggest heartbreaking bomb a son could get was a matter of hours from being dropped into my lap.

My mom has been battling type 2 diabetes for 7 years now and she has already lost 2 sisters to the disease since I’ve been away in Japan. During this time the oldest of my three younger sisters and her husband had disappeared and her four young children had been living with my mother ever since. Luckily, Sasha and Shawn had been there to help her with them.

More bad news came as we learned my mother needed our help. Of course we agreed and now we were on our way to court as my sister’s husbands family was suing for custody after nearly a year and a half of having nothing to do with the little ones.

During the course of the day my mother tried to persuade the court that my wife and I would be an asset in helping her care for my nieces and nephews. More times than I can recall my wrestling career was used against us with the other side claiming it kept me from providing a stable life and that it would more times then not make me an absent father figure for the kids. But the biggest heart rending moment came when I learned my mother was battling cancer and this was one of the main factors in us losing custody but we would revisit the case "IF" my moms treatment was successful.

Little did we know that six months later we would find out that the woman who gained custody of the kids had murdered Aaron’s sister and brother-in-law. And to this day we are still battling the court (who refuse to acknowledge their mistake) for custody of the children.

I say woman because a real mother wouldn’t have killed her own son and daughter-in-law nor would she have brought this much chaos into the lives of the grandchildren she claims she loves.

"Technically I’m the Vice President of Overseas Operations for JIPW with a corner office in a one story building owned by my grandfather. Also, due to the size of the company my title means I’ve been in control of my tenure in Japan and little else. And since I’m the only one who’s even been there, it doesn’t exactly hold a lot of authority."

As I sit in the same spot I have occupied for the majority of the past two days, staring at an unopened bottle of vodka, I realise this is the first time I’ve even been in here. I wonder if the computer even works?

I get up and stretch, it’s time to shake this off. I’ve got three children and a wife at home who are equally as distraught as I am and I’m not doing my family any good locked up in here away from them.

Note from the author:

It might seem like a lot of things have been thrown at Aaron Wright straight from the start but take into account that he has been gone for 2 years and his family has reasons for keeping him in the dark on certain things.

Also remember the whole story of his sisters murder won't come to a conclusion till July or August of 2009 so as far as he knows right now she's either missing or she's ran off and abandoned her kids.

The question there is: Will finding out her true fate cause him to open that bottle he stared at for so long? Feel free if you want to make predictions on that.

Hell’s House of Horrors

I’ve spent a good portion of the last few days getting into the swing of things. Meeting with the talent and the staff. I can’t believe Pops Sweeney is still here. That old coot was working for the company before I was born but he’s one of the best road agents around.

He’s still got that same smile."

Hmmmm

Not much going on. Sabre and Logan are hanging and banging in the gym off to the right and I caught a glimpse of someone massive going into the bathroom on the left but the ring is ……… empty.

Xavier lets me know I’m about an hour early and this is a closed session for a couple of guys my old man found working in Louisianna; “Big Caddy” Cadillac Hughes, his Italian partner Domino Cino and their manager “the Porkchop Studd”.

Devon walks in the door behind me and with his usual candor says; “What the hell is a Porkchop Studd?”

I check the microphone on the desk and smile at Devon.

“Let’s go find out.”

Sabre and Logan have both walked over to the ring with s**t eating grins and I hear them talking back and forth saying things like “oh, hell” and “this is gonna be fun.”

I wave Devon out of the ring, he’s only 15, he’s not ready to roll with these guys yet.

The cigarette man tries to sneak in and I bounce into the ropes sending him flying back to the floor as the biggest monster slides in from the other side. He rushes me, damn he’s quick for his size.

I barely had time to duck under this tree trunk that was extended from his shoulder and hit him with half of the Demonizer (modified Rock Bottom).

There was this cracking sound and everything went black.

“Damn it, Aaron. Not again.”

I raise my head up from the hole I had just created in the center of the ring and there my grandfather stands with my kids snickering behind him. He casts them a dirty look and starts walking to the ring.

I check on my playmate and he seems fine. I look around and see that we’re suspended by the black rubber mat we use in place of a canvas. I guess they learned something from me busting rings in the past.

Now if they’ll just get rid of the wooden frame.

I barely had time to get back up and see him lift Big Caddy like a sack of potatoes.

And yeah, I went and picked up that cigarette butt.

That was the most amazing thing I had seen in a long time. Too bad we couldn’t have got that on camera. After that day, Old man Writzen went out and bought a new metal frame ring so I doubt we’ll ever see that again.
