WWE.com Review of WrestleMania XXVI

Opening Match - 26 Man Battle Royal

It was a battle of pure frenzy and free-for-all mayhem, where the only way to triumph was to stay alive as 25 other Superstars were being hurled over the top rope and onto the stadium floor. And amidst the intense match that fit like a glove leading into the towering grandeur of The Show of Shows, Tatsu proved his WrestleMania mettle. The charismatic Superstar scored a victory of note, outlasting a powerful plethora of combatants to capture WrestleMania glory. In the final moments of the brutal match, Tatsu sent Zack Ryder over the top rope. Although Ryder was able to hold on, the quick-thinking Tatsu delivered a lightning-fast round kick, sending the final obstacle in the way of his amazing victory crashing to the ground. From the moment the electrifying Tatsu entered the ring, the energized crowd seemed eager to be in his corner. And with such a huge WrestleMania triumph under his belt, every fan in attendance is now wondering how the young grappler will use his momentum to take Monday Night Raw by storm.

There's no business like Show-Mizness

Despite John Morrison & R-Truth getting the best of Big Show & The Miz in recent weeks, at WrestleMania XXVI, they weren’t able to keep that momentum as Show-Miz picked up a huge win to retain the Unified Tag Team Championships. Interestingly enough, it was just one year ago, in a pre-show match to unify the World and WWE Tag Team Titles, Morrison & The Miz were fighting together. Now, they both have come full-circle and are again battling on The Grandest Stage of Them All for the Unified Tag Team Titles – except this time, they are bitter rivals on opposing teams. Show-Miz was formed only a few months ago with the assistance of Raw’s special guest host John Heder, and since defeating DX and The Straight Edge Society in a Triple Threat Match to become champions, they have seemed unstoppable. When The Friday Night Delight & SmackDown’s rapping Superstar were teamed together several weeks ago, there were some doubts about their ability to work as a unit, but the critics were quickly silenced when the duo defeated Cryme Tyme and The Hart Dynasty to become No. 1 contenders. Of course, always willing to give his two cents on any subject, The Miz expressed his disapproval for having to defend his titles against the seemingly makeshift team of his former partner & R-Truth, but the self-proclaimed “Awesome One” would soon be eating crow. Morrison & R-Truth quickly let Show-Miz know “What’s up!” by decimating them in what was supposed to be a tag team match, and have continued to one-up Big Show & The Miz around every turn – including a huge one-on-one victory for Morrison over The Miz on Raw. Unfortunately, a WWE Superstar’s career is filled with peaks and valleys, and as a team, the challengers found themselves in a valley at WrestleMania XXVI, and after Morrison was knocked out by a vicious punch from Big Show, they were left empty-handed as Show-Miz retained the championships. Though Morrison & R-Truth will likely continue their quest to prove themselves as a team and win the Unified Tag Team Titles, at The Showcase of the Immortals, it was Big Show & The Miz left standing with all the glory.

Orton owns his Legacy

Overcoming the odds, the teacher outclassed his former students as Randy Orton defeated Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes in a Triple Threat Match at The Showcase of the Immortals. On the biggest night of the year, Orton punted Rhodes in the head and evened the score with DiBiase with an RKO, leading to The Viper’s victory. For DiBiase and Rhodes, who made their WrestleMania debuts, a victory would have certainly set either one of them on the path to follow in the footsteps of their respective WWE Hall of Fame fathers, “The Million Dollar Man” and Dusty Rhodes. But their egos were fed by the spectacle of WrestleMania and the sold-out crowd, putting them at odds and giving the more experienced Orton an advantage. At one time, The Legacy was a force to be reckoned with in WWE. Orton took the eager young Superstars and set them on the path to pave their own roads toward greatness. While The Legacy seemed unstoppable, the egos of Rhodes and DiBiase would become too big for Orton to manage. The Viper would even square-off at times with the multi-generational Superstars. While the trio faced adversity, even when Rhodes cost Orton the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble, The Legacy would always find a way to remain united until WWE Elimination Chamber. The tension overflowed at the new pay-per-view when Cody Rhodes tossed a lead pipe into Satan’s Structure for DiBiase to utilize on John Cena. DiBiase used the pipe against both Cena and Orton and, in a moment of ultimate defiance, chose to eliminate his former mentor. The Legacy imploded with the two young Superstars becoming estranged from The Viper and out to prove that they were the better competitors. At WrestleMania, there was no more bickering as these three Superstars squared off. The match seemed like a handicap match at times, with DiBiase and Rhodes teaming against Orton. But it was truly every man for himself and DiBiase and Rhodes would argue over who should be the victor, allowing Orton time to recover. The Legacy was broken and each man was out to prove that their legacy would be the one elevated on The Grandest Stage of Them All. After a devastating double-elevated DDT, Orton punted Rhodes and hit DiBiase with the RKO, pinning him for the win. While Randy Orton may have come away with a WrestleMania victory, Ted DiBiase surely won’t let the score between he and Orton to remain tied, and Rhodes will be out to prove to his former associates that his legacy will be the future of WWE.

Can't stagger Swagger

Jack Swagger is known throughout the WWE Universe for his incredible amateur wrestling background. But at WrestleMania XXVI it was “The All-American American’s” willingness to take risks and put his body on the line that brought him victory in the first-ever 10-Man Money in the Bank Ladder Match and the contract for a guaranteed World Title Match that comes with it. During the weeks leading up to WrestleMania, qualifying matches were held on both Raw and SmackDown, where the brands’ hungriest Superstars competed for a chance to win one of WWE’s most coveted prizes. On the March 1 episode of Raw, Jack Swagger defeated Santino Marella, earning his place in the yearly contest, and beginning his trip to The Grandest Stage of Them All. Though Swagger was willing to do anything to get his hands on the Money in the Bank briefcase, “The All-American American” had numerous equally ambitious competitors standing in his way. For the first time-ever the annual Money in the Bank Ladder Match was contested between 10 Superstars, only adding to the chaos within the ring. Superstars battled atop the ladders throughout the match, but the contest was ultimately won when Swagger knocked Christian to the mat below using the Money in the Bank Briefcase itself. Though “The All-American American” walked away the victor, other Superstars also went to extraordinary lengths to obtain the coveted briefcase, as evidenced by Kofi Kingston using a broken ladder as a pair of makeshift stilts, and Evan Bourne hitting his awe-inspiring Shooting Star Press of a pair of ladders. The Money in the Bank Match was a hotly contested one as it was filled with veterans in the dangerous contest such as Matt Hardy, MVP, Kane and Shelton Benjamin. The match also hosted younger up-and-coming competitors as well, such as Dolph Ziggler and Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre, who competed in multiple qualifying matches on SmackDown before gaining admittance into the contest. Now the two-time collegiate All-American has a golden opportunity to become a first-time World Champion. But with a guaranteed World Title Match at any time of his choosing, when will Swagger decide to cash in his Money in the Bank? And which World Title holder will be forced to square off against the boundless ambition of the brand new Mr. Money in the Bank?

619 means he's better than you

At WrestleMania, Rey Mysterio reigned supreme over CM Punk, defending his family’s honor while saving himself from a forced induction into The Straight Edge Society. Mysterio’s intense battle for freedom with The Second City Saint raged fast and furious on The Grandest Stage of Them All. From the opening bell, both Luke Gallows and Serena made their presence felt, interfering whenever possible in their savior’s favor. But, despite Punk’s ruthless attack and the actions of his loyal cronies, Mysterio would not give in. And his heart-filled refusal to be beaten would not go unrewarded. When The Straight Edge Society tried to prevent the masked Superstar from dialing-up the 619, Mysterio went to work, countering Punk’s GTS and sending him flying into the interfering Gallows. Then, before the capacity crowd, Mysterio rang-up 619 on his second attempt and successfully defeated his Straight Edge nemesis. The volatile paths of The Master of the 619 and The Straight Edge Superstar collided with catastrophic fallout on The Road to WrestleMania. Punk, along with his faithful disciples Luke Gallows and Serena, assaulted Mysterio with brutal back-to-back attacks on SmackDown. Mysterio cost The Straight Edge Savior two huge opportunities, pinning him at WWE Elimination Chamber and costing him his WrestleMania Money in the Bank Qualifying Match against Shelton Benjamin. Punk “crossed the line” when he and The Straight Edge Society ridiculed Mysterio and his family as they attempted to celebrate his daughter’s birthday on SmackDown. In the midst of his merciless verbal taunts, the calculating Punk issued a WrestleMania challenge to his emotionally-charged adversary. One week later, Mysterio accepted Punk’s Show of Shows challenge with fury in his eyes. But, when Gallows triumphed over The Master of the 619 later that night, a stipulation was set in stone that The Ultimate Underdog must win at WrestleMania or take the Straight Edge pledge. Rey Mysterio’s victory on The Grandest Stage of Them All has allowed him to stay clear of everything he detests. But considering the deplorable actions of CM Punk in recent weeks, has the masked Superstar seen the last of The Straight Edge Society?

Fortune does not favor the bold

It has been said, “If you come at the king, you best not miss.” Sheamus would have been wise to heed these words before he stepped in the ring with Triple H on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Despite a frenzied effort, the Irish Superstar failed in his quest to dethrone The King of Kings, falling to The Game at WrestleMania after a Pedigree in the center of the ring. The victory was far from an easy one for Triple H, however. The Game felt the power and complete lack of respect from the first-ever Irish-born WWE Champion right from the bell. Battering Triple H both inside and outside the ring with clubbing blows and explosive kicks, Sheamus nearly made good on his promise to destroy his opponent. In the end, however, it was a perfectly timed Pedigree from The Cerebral Assassin that would seal the Irishman’s fate and give Triple H the win. Triple H had warned Sheamus to think twice before challenging him at WrestleMania. But after being pinned by The Game at WWE Elimination Chamber, the Irish Superstar was hell-bent on getting retribution against The King of Kings. Vowing to make an example of Triple H, Sheamus attacked his nemesis at every turn leading up to The Showcase of the Immortals. His failure to defeat Triple H will only further fuel The Celtic Warrior's ire.

Vickie Throws her weight around

Whoever coined the term “when pigs fly” never saw Vickie Guerrero in action. In the closing moments of the 10-Divas Tag Team Match at WrestleMania, the Official SmackDown Consultant slowly scaled the ropes and then launched herself onto a prone Kelly Kelly, crushing the blonde beauty and picking up the win for her team on The Grandest Stage of Them All. It was an unexpected end to the wild battle pitting Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Eve, Gail Kim & Beth Phoenix against Women’s Champion Michelle McCool, Divas Champion Maryse, Layla, Alicia Fox & Vickie. After a fracas that saw nearly every Diva in the match nail their trademark maneuvers, it came down to The Glamazon and Guerrero. But a sneak attack by the Women’s Champion put Phoenix out of the bout, allowing Vickie to do the unthinkable. With a helping hand from her team, Guerrero scaled the ropes and performed a “hog splash” onto Kelly Kelly that nearly shook the University of Phoenix Stadium. While Kelly will still be feeling the effects of Vickie’s considerable impact tomorrow, it is Beth Phoenix who most wanted to get her hands on the shrill SmackDown Consultant. After being pinned by Vickie on Friday, The Glamazon would like nothing more than to shut her big mouth.

A spear too late

Veteran ring skills (55 titles combined). The will to win. Bitter anger. World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and Edge brought everything to their very personal war in front of more than 72,000 members of the WWE Universe inside the University of Phoenix Stadium. And finally – after weeks of hostile posturing – it was Jericho who reigned supreme and walked away with his World Title. After the match, an enraged Ultimate Opportunist brutally Speared Jericho from atop the announce table and through the ringside barricade. Clearly, we haven't seen the last of Edge's fight to regain the World Title. Once close allies, these former tag team partners hit a major crossroads last July when Edge suffered a potentially career-ending Achilles injury. But in January at Royal Rumble, The Ultimate Opportunist shocked the entire WWE Universe by returning to WWE to win the Royal Rumble Match. Not to be outdone – a month later inside the Elimination Chamber – Jericho pulled off a stunning win over The Undertaker, thanks to some help from Shawn Michaels. With both Superstars full of momentum, the WWE Universe knew it would witness a stellar battle at WrestleMania. Neither Superstar disappointed. However, now that Edge could not win Jericho's title, how can he possibly live with himself? If there was bitter anger before, things are sure to get downright ugly now

Hart screws Vince

Simple albeit prolonged chain reaction: Vince screwed Bret in 1997; Vince screwed Vince weeks ago on Raw; and at WrestleMania XXVI, Bret finally screwed Vince with excellent execution, as The “Hit Man” cemented this Show of Shows as perhaps the best there ever will be. With the support of the Hart family, who double-crossed and foiled the scheme of The WWE Chairman, the pink and black colors waved proud in victory on The Grandest Stage of Them All, mending a 12-year wound for The Hit Man. It was nearly a repeat performance of the Montreal Screwjob, but at a greater magnitude when Mr. McMahon revealed his fully funded lumberjacks: The Hart family, Dynasty and all. However, blood proved thicker than The Chairman’s liquid assets, as Bret’s kin betrayed the billionaire in the No Holds Barred Match and took up arms against the man who defiled their family name for so very many years. The Excellence of Execution unleashed more than a decade of malice onto the man who tarnished an incomparable career of a genuine champion, with or without a gold prize in his possession. Swinging a tire iron and steel chair at McMahon – at least one strike for every year since his unsavory departure from WWE – the fury in The Hit Man’s eyes told a story of justice and attrition. Then, to lock in vindication and serve his mortal nemesis a 12-year brew of retribution, Hart clinched the legs of The Chairman for a Sharpshooter. It was the moment that not just Bret, but also the legion of WWE Universe members in the University of Phoenix Stadium and around the globe waited more than a decade to experience. McMahon quickly surrendered, pounding his palm against the mat with a rhythmic pulse similar to the intro of Hit Man’s entrance music, which then sounded instantly to both signal and accentuate victory. Surrounded by his Hart brethren, The Pink and Black Attack celebrated his own unbelievable return from a career-ending concussion, a stroke and so many other tribulations. Instantly, WrestleMania XXVI became a conquest bigger than Yokozuna at WrestleMania X, more emphatic than “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13. On March 28, 2010, the myth of “The Best There Is, The Best There Was and The Best There Ever Will Be” was tested and proven, live in front of 72, 219. The Hart still beats and perhaps stronger it ever will beat.

Cena traps the Animal

He was one competitor from victory at 2005’s Royal Rumble – but Batista upended him. He was one second from basking in glory at 2008’s SummerSlam – but Batista refused to quit. He prevailed over five others to capture the WWE Title at this year’s Elimination Chamber – but Batista came and fought it away. During some of the most pivotal moments of his career, John Cena has failed to overcome the force of just one man: Batista. Until now. After an intense clash between two of WWE’s preeminent powerhouses on The Grandest Stage of Them All, Cena finally unleashed all manner of fury on The Animal, captured his seventh WWE Title and can once again proclaim, “The Champ … is … here!” The victory, however, was far from assured. In the weeks leading up to the brawl, Batista successfully employed psychological warfare, worming his way inside Cena’s psyche, mocking his squeaky-clean image and trying to convince him that he could never defeat The Animal. However, just six days prior to WrestleMania, Cena crashed through a phalanx of security and attacked his tormentor on Monday Night Raw, vowing that Batista “would never keep [him] down, no matter what.” True to his word, Cena entered the match with a full tank of gas and plenty in reserve. The two Superstars locked in various holds early in the match, intent on wearing down their opponent. As the match progressed, the two powerhouses began to trade cement-shattering blows. As a result, a hint of fatigue glimmered on each of their brows, but neither would relent. Instead, Cena kicked out after a rumbling Batista Bomb, and The Animal also escaped in the wake of an emphatic Attitude Adjustment. Finally, though, Cena would clamp down upon Batista with a savage STFU, leaving The Animal no choice but to tap out. In the end, Cena displayed the steely resolve of a warrior, vanquishing any self-doubt he harbored leading up to the match and returning to form as “The Champ” on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

The Phenom closes the door

One could argue that it wasn’t Shawn Michaels who lost on The Grandest Stage of Them All Sunday night. Yes, Michaels fell in defeat to The Phenom, who extended his unbeaten WrestleMania streak to an unprecedented 18-0. However, by ending The Showstopper’s storied career, The Deadman effectively provided the WWE Universe with perhaps its greatest collective loss in WWE history: the end of an icon’s ring career. Their rematch was destined to happen – many believed that as soon as their epic first confrontation at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania concluded one year prior. It certainly remained foremost in the mind of HBK, who had demanded another opportunity against The Phenom at The Show of Shows since last December’s Slammy Awards ceremony on Raw. Yet after months of calling out The Deadman and coming up short in bids to earn a rematch, Michaels finally succeeded after costing The Undertaker his World Heavyweight Title inside the Elimination Chamber last February. Of course, garnering The Undertaker’s sole, undivided attention is a double-edged sword. The Phenom finally agreed to face The Showstopper one more time at WrestleMania – with the stipulation that it would be Shawn Michaels’ last time as a WWE Superstar, should he fail to end “The Streak,” a prize that many would equate to a World Championship … or perhaps hold in even higher regard. Sunday’s rematch between HBK and The Undertaker was only the fourth such contest to end a WrestleMania without championship gold on the line. However, it was, by far, the most important of those matches. Furthermore, indecision or controversy was all but eliminated by the stipulation that this “Streak vs. Career” Match could end only via pinfall or submission. “I wouldn’t have agreed to this match if I wasn’t at a place where I was ready to take on the inevitable, which is the end of my career,” Michaels told WWE.com in an exclusive interview hours before the confrontation. “I like to be a man of my word. I’d like to honor what I said to The Undertaker … that if I don’t beat his streak, I will walk away.” That said, Michaels was more than ready Sunday night. Before 72,219 fans inside the University of Phoenix Stadium, fans’ loyalties were divided as “Mr. WrestleMania” gave the Showstopping performance of his career – and a match that must have left The Undertaker wondering, even if just for a moment, whether or not he could defeat HBK at a second consecutive WrestleMania. The Phenom had good reason to wonder. After an offensive onslaught to open the match, he jarred his left knee on the mat while going "Old School" off the top rope. Michaels, seeing how his adversary favored his leg, immediately took advantage, directing the focus of his offense toward the injured appendage. And the occasional posters of "17-1" throughout the stadium seemed raised a little higher than before. It would take much more than great strategy to stop The Undertaker's streak, however. In fact, he nearly put The Showstopper's career into the grave several times early in the battle, including a devastating Tombstone on the outside floor that would have rendered lesser opponents to pure dust. Even the most divided of fans, however, had to be amazed not only by Michaels' resiliency, but his wherewithall to counter a Hell's Gate submission into a quick-two count, then connecting with one of the loudest Sweet Chin Musics ever heard inside the ring. The Undertaker barely kicked out, then almost dealt Michaels his own graveyard symphony. But another confrontation on the outside floor resulted in more Sweet Chin Music that planted The Deadman onto the announce table, and HBK's moonsault off the top rope that drove both Superstars through the table. Despite seeming to have little idea where he was at the moment, The Phenom refused to stay down, even after a third chorus of Sweet Chin Music. More than 72,000 strong felt that the end might be near for Michaels, though, especially as The Deadman caught "Mr. WrestleMania" with a crushing chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver. They were wrong. Michaels kicked out by the narrowest of margins, impressing even the clearly frustrated Undertaker. Mustering perhaps the greatest sign of respect he could offer, The Deadman stopped himself from delivering his cutthroat motion. Michaels, defiant to the end, finished the motion for his adversary, then slapped The Undertaker in the face. He, more than anyone else, understood that between the Streak and the career, something had to give. The Undertaker, with fire in his eyes, obliged his noble opponent. With another devastating Tombstone, he silenced Shawn Michaels' career once and for all. Though it seemed impossible to conceive, Michaels and The Deadman outdid their epic confrontation from 2009 – a match that was deemed universally as Match of the Year. And the sold-out crowd in Phoenix made sure their Superstars knew it, with chants of "This is awesome!" and "Thank you, Shawn!" filling the stadium. And, in a moment never before witnessed, the often-emotionally devoid Deadman acknowledged a very emotional Michaels as well. In his seventeenth and final WrestleMania as an in-ring competitor, Michaels motioned to the WWE Universe, professing his undying gratitude and love. And like a true ring warrior, he exited the stadium in the Valley of the Sun with his head held high - and a career that will live on as long as any WrestleMania streak The Undertaker can achieve.

'WrestleMania Fall-Out'

- Announcers -

Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler

<hr>Jim Ross - Hello Everybody and welcome to the fall-out of WrestleMania XXVI.

Jerry Lawler - It was a great night of action, suspense, and emotion. A New WWE Champion, a Money in the Bank Ladder Match, and the end of long career.

JR - Correct, Shawn Michaels wrestled his last ever match last night, as he attempted to end the streak of the fabled Undertaker. He was unsuccessful, and as a result, we witnessed one of the most emotional moments since Ric Flair's retirement two years ago.

JL - Shawn will also be giving his final words tonight, and it's sure to be another emotional evening, as we witness one of the greatest ever, leave the ring, for the last time.

The Crowd begins to cheer as Cena's music begins to fade in...

John Cena - Ladies and Gentlemen, the CHAMP IS HERE!

The Crowd roars as chants of 'CENA' fill the Carver-Hawkeye Arena...

Cena - Well I guess things worked out... Because now, the WWE Championship, is hanging over MY shoulder. Going through weeks of cowardly attacks and beatdowns at the hands of Mr. McMahon and the Animal, Batista. And now, look where they've wound up. Mr. McMahon got himself handled by the entire Hart family on the greatest stage of them all, and Batista, tapped out. Boy I got to tell you, that sure puts a smile on my face. But now I have other concerns. Extreme Rules is coming around in the coming weeks, and following that, comes the WWE Draft. I'm not sure what to make of either, as I'll have to go through hell twice. One twisted, brutal match at Extreme Rules, and perhaps being sent to Smackdown! in the WWE Draft. Now, I don't want to leave RAW, and the fans here for the 'other' brand.

Loud boos fill the arena...

Cena - But if I do, I hope all of the members of the Cenation, will follow me to the other side!

Just as the crowd begins to cheer, familiar music fills the arena...

http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae331/The_WWE/WWE/RAW/Week%201/Batista.jpg

Chants of 'You Tapped Out' fill the arena...

Batista - Shut up! You can all shut up! I did not tap out! I reached for the ropes and my hand slipped!

Cena - And coincidentally hit the ground three times?

The crowd begins to laugh...

Batista - You know what Cena!? I KNOW I can beat you! And if you're not too chicken, I challenge you to a match, at Extreme Rules, and I'm going to use my rematch clause to get it.

Cena - Well then I guess it's on!

The crowd begins to cheer once more, before more familiar music hits the arena...

http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae331/The_WWE/WWE/RAW/Week%201/Sheamus.jpg

Sheamus - Hold up there Cena... I still haven't invoked my Rematch clause from the Elimination Chamber... and tonight, it's on. And if I win, it's going to be Sheamus... versus the Animal, Batista.

Cena - Sheamus... You've got yourself a match.

MVP vs Chavo Guerrero

Chavo and MVP took tentative steps to the center of the ring before engaging in a shoulder grapple with each other. MVP got the upper hand, by gripping onto one of Chavo's legs, and tripped him face first to the canvas. MVP immediately went for a Sleeper Hold on Chavo, but Chavo managed to push it off and escape to his feet. MVP hit an Irish Whip, but Chavo rebounded and hit a Leaping Dropkick. MVP dropped to the canvas, as Chavo went for a cover, despite only getting a count of one. MVP rolled onto all fours, and Guerrero took a run and went for a punt to the head, resembling Randy Orton's punt. But at the last second, MVP rolled out of the way, and rolled Chavo up, getting a count of one and a half. Chavo got up quickly, but found himself promptly Irish Whipped and in the corner. MVP took a sprint for the boot, but Chavo moved out of the way, and tossed MVP to the canvas. Guerrero rose to the top turnbuckle, signalling for the Frog Splash. He took the leap, and missed, allowing for MVP to hoist him up and hit the Playmaker, and got the three count.

<hr>JR - So we've just received news that ShowMiz will be defending their Unified Tag Team Championships, against the fun team of Yoshi Tatsu & Evan Bourne. If you recall, Yoshi actually won the the 26 Man Battle Royal at WrestleMania. Evan Bourne also competed in the Money In The Bank ladder match, actually hitting an Air Bourne off of a ladder.

JL - But, unfortunately he fell short, and that's why Jack Swagger, is the new Mr. Money in the Bank. The tag match however, is next.<hr>

Yoshi Tatsu & Evan Bourne vs ShowMiz

Evan Bourne and The Miz start out in the ring, and The Miz raised his hands in victory, before the match even got underway. Bourne took advantage and started rolling with punches and a Jumping Arm Drag to send Miz to the center of the ring and preventing him from tagging out to Big Show. Bourne sent Miz flying into the corner, and tagged out to Yoshi. Evan hit a Knee to the gut, before lining him up in the corner, and as he did, Yoshi climbed to the top turnbuckle, and hit a Sunset Flip to go for the pin. He got the one count before being interrupted by the Big Show. Yoshi stumbled to his feet after taking the boot to the back from Show, and tagged out to Bourne. Bourne got right into the ring with a Springboard Legdrop. As Miz got to his feet, Bourne threw a jumping kick, but Miz dodged it, and hit Backbreaker and Neckbreaker combination. Bourne fell to the canvas, and Miz circled him, hitting stomps and knees. Bourne got a chance to kick to his feet, and chased Miz around the ring. Miz got to his corner, and Big Show tagged himself into the match. Bourne took a run to his corner and attempted a Springboard kick, but was stopped in mid-air with a Right Hand to the head. Big Show went for the pin and got the three count, with Miz on the other side of the ring, holding Tatsu back from stopping the count.

Eve Torres vs Maryse ©

WWE Divas Championship

Maryse and Eve quickly stepped towards the center of the ring, and as Eve missed with a clothesline, Maryse kicked Eve's legs out from under her, and Eve fell to the canvas. Maryse then went to work, attacking Eve's head with punches and stomps, before working on the legs as she went for a Boston Crab. Eve managed to get to the ropes, but Maryse didn't stop the attack, with kicks and punches. Eve got up and rolled to her feet, but wound up slumped over and on the floor with a French Kiss from Maryse. Maryse went for the pin, and got the three count to defend her championship.

Maryse defeats Eve Torres with a French Kiss @ 4:21

Maryse - I think the whole WWE Universe realizes that I am the most dangerous woman on RAW, who's going to beat me? Certainly not Gail Kim, or Eve Torres as we just saw. I'm pretty sure Kelly Kelly and Jillian have no chance, so who can do it? I'll tell you who... Nobody! Nobody can beat me, because I am the greatest female wrestler in WWE History, and I'm sure that if I got the chance, I could even beat the great Trish Stratus... But sadly, she's no longer a part of the WWE anymore. So too bad. At Extreme Rules, if I have to defend my title again... I will prove my dominance. I'll see you all next week.<hr>

Cody Rhodes vs Santino Marella

Santino began the match by parading around the ring, but was met with a brutal clothesline from Cody Rhodes, who instantly went for the pin, only getting a half count. Santino got up and was shocked, and went for the shoulder grapple, but Cody maneuvered himself around him and got ahold on his back. Cody hit a Russian Leg Sweep, but as he went down for the pin, Santino wrapped up one of his legs in an Ankle lock. Cody rushed to the ropes, and Santino continued to work on the legs. Stomps, kicks, knee breakers, anything he could use. Cody managed to pull himself to his feet, and avoid a clothesline from Santino. Cody sent him into the corner, and hit a ten punch in the corner, before dropping down for a bulldog. As Santino slowly got to his feet, Cody latched on to the Cross Rhodes, and planted Santino on the canvas, getting the three count.

'No Chance' begins to blast through the arena, as Mr. McMahon struts down to the ring...

Vince McMahon - Thank you ladies and gents in the crowd. How are you liking tonight's show?

The crowd roars in approval, which puts a smirk on McMahon's face...

McMahon - Well then, are you enjoying NXT?

The crowd has different opinions on the show, and it shows, as the blending of boos and cheers fill the arena...

McMahon - Well that's exactly why I'm down here. You'll notice that in the Miz's match, Daniel Bryan was not at ringside with him, unlike the usual where he is with him. Well, you probably won't be seeing much of these rookies anymore. I guess what I'm trying to say is... NXT, my brainchild, is no more. The rookies have been far from impressive, botched finishers, lack of entertainment, and worst of all, this morning I received a voicemail from David Otunga, R-Truth's rookie, saying that he was better than me. Better than me eh? Well... Dave, I guess I should assert my authority. You, and your posse, are FINISHED! You hear me!? You're to leave this organization until further notice, that goes for all of you. I'll let them deal with you Otunga, because I'm pretty sure they won't be happy with your actions either. You've ruined it for them...

The crowd again with mixed reactions, wonder what else McMahon has to say...

McMahon - So now I'm in a situation, where I need a new show. I've been considering reviving ECW, but at this point, it'd be a lost cause, besides, I'd have to find a new general manager, who am I going to bring back... Paul Heyman? Yeah right. Keep dreaming. Maybe another brand new idea... but what to do... Oh well, I'll figure it out. Just needed to make the NXT announcement, and now I've gone and gotten... well... carried away. Enjoy the rest of your show ladies and gentlemen.<hr>

Kelly Kelly vs Jillian

Kelly Kelly made some short work of Jillian in this match, rolling with punches, before hitting a solid knee to the stomach. Kelly hit an Irish Whip, but Jillian was able to get her only offense of the match, when she reversed the whip and hit a clothesline. When Jillian tried to continue the offense, hoisting Kelly to her feet, Kelly reversed with a Jawbreaker. Kelly proceeded to pick Jillian up to her feet, and hit another combination of punches, before lining up for the K2. Kelly hit it, and went for the cover, and got the three count successfully.

Ted DiBiase - Hmm...

The camera shows Ted DiBiase pacing around the locker room...

DiBiase - Without my former teammates of Legacy, who's going to help me with my responsibilities. Who's going to do my laundry, get my food, and all the other important stuff. I mean, Randy and Cody never did it, because they're both selfish jerks, but Randy had these maids and help that did our work for us. And now, with Randy's ego getting the best of him, and Cody's stupidity cost us the alliance with Randy, because of course, he was the reason Randy lost at the Royal Rumble, he was the reason he lost at the Elimination Chamber. Not me, it was all Cody. And really, I obviously am the talent of the team, I mean, why else would they give me the movie deal, and not Randy, or Cody. So now, I need somebody to do my business for me, so I can focus on wrestling. Like my dad... I need a... a what's it called... a Virgil!

Just at that moment, Kofi Kingston enters the room to gather his gear...

Kofi Kingston - Hey Ted.

DiBiase - Hey there Kofi... I've got a little proposition for you...

Ted puts his hand on Kofi's shoulders...

Kingston - Oh yeah? What's that...

DiBiase - Well, not so much a proposition, as much as a Partnership. Like, you do some extra work for me, and I give you a lot of money in return. How about it?

Kingston - So, you want me to do work for you, and you'd give me a lot of money...

DiBiase - A lot of money. And I mean, A lot.

Kingston - So, should I also change my name to Virgil?

DiBiase - Wait... What? No, not at all.

Kingston - No. You want a Virgil. Your daddy had a Virgil, so now you want one too. So you know what, I'll make a deal with you. You and me, a match now, and if you win... I'll be your 'Virgil', but if I win, you leave me alone. Ok?

DiBiase - You're on.<hr>

Kofi Kingston vs Ted DiBiase

Kofi Kingston starts rolling on offense, hitting a combination of kicks and punches, before rebounding off the ropes and hitting a flying punch. Ted pulls himself to his feet, before reversing a leaping Kofi Kingston to the mat with a Powerslam, and he went for the pin. Ted got the One count, and Kofi kicked up to his feet. Ted rushed Kofi, but found himself on his back following a lethal knee to the head. Kofi went for the pin, but only got a one and a half count. Ted stumbled around on his feet, as Kofi tried to lock in the SOS, but he managed to turn it around and try and lock in Dream Street. Kofi managed to pull his way out, but walked into a boot from DiBiase. DiBiase pulled him to his feet, and Irish Whipped Kofi into the corner. Ted took a sprint to the corner, but Kofi evaded it, and Ted ran head first into the ring post. Kofi then whipped DiBiase onto his back on the canvas. Kofi started to parade around the ring, setting up for the Boom Drop. A Shimmy, a Shake, and then the leg drop. Kofi went for the pin, but again, only a two count. Ted pulled himself to his feet, and as Kofi stalked him for the Trouble in Paradise, Ted avoided the kick, and tried to lock in Dream Street. Just as he was preparing to slam Kofi to the mat...

Cody Rhodes appeared on the stage, and with Ted looking straight at him, Kofi escaped. Ted, staring down Cody on the stage, and Cody looking straight back at him. Cody motioned to Ted to turn around, and just as he did... Trouble in Paradise. Kofi went for the pin, and got the three count, and a satisfied looking Cody Rhodes went backstage.

John Cena vs Sheamus

John Cena and Sheamus slowly approached each other in the ring. Both men not wanting to make the first move. As they continued to circle each other, Sheamus began to throw jabs forward at Cena, but Cena wasn't allowing Sheamus to get in his head. After almost a full minute of circling and avoiding each other...

http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae331/The_WWE/WWE/RAW/Week%201/TripleH.jpg

Triple H - You're Dead Sheamus...

As Sheamus looked at the TitanTron, Cena made his move, tackling Sheamus and beating down on him with punches and elbows, and not allowing Sheamus to push back to his feet. Cena, eventually unable to stop Sheamus from getting to his feet, swarmed him with punches, wild hooks and straight punches, but the Celtic Warrior was on his feet. Cena tossed him to the other corner, before rattling him with a Shoulder Block. Cena hoisted him onto his shoulders for the Attidude Adjustment, but Sheamus scrambled out and planted a Boot into Cena's head. Sheamus covered a lifeless Cena, only to get the one count. Cena, rolling out of the ring to regain some energy, was followed by Sheamus, who chased him around the ring until Cena re-entered the ring. Sheamus, following him, ran straight into a clothesline from Cena. Cena raises his hand in the air... You can't see me! Cena rebounds off the far ropes, and tries to drop the fist on Sheamus, but he rolls out of the ring just in time and Cena plants his fist onto the canvas. Cena, nursing his hand in the corner, continued to watch Sheamus as he circled the ring. Sheamus eventually climbed back in, and ducked a clothesline from Cena, planting him with the Irish Curse. Sheamus went for the pin, but Cena kicked out at the two. Just as Sheamus waited for Cena to get up, to plant him with the Celtic Cross, Cena planted a punch right to Sheamus' gut, before hoisting him over his shoulders and slamming him on the canvas with the Attitude Adjustment. Cena went for the three count, and was successful, cementing his rematch with Batista for Extreme Rules.

Jack Swagger - Ring the Bell! I'm Cashing in my Contract!

Just as Swagger tries to lock Cena in the Gutwrench Powerbomb, Cena throws him over and onto the canvas. Swagger instantly leaves the ring to grab his briefcase...

Shawn Michaels' music hits as he slowly makes his last walk down to the ring...

Shawn Michaels - Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm so glad you're all here tonight. Tonight... My last night in the WWE. Last night, I... I failed for the second time to defeat the Undertaker, and end his streak... and now... I have to honour my commitment to the Undertaker, and the WWE.

Chants of 'One More Match' fill the arena...

Michaels - I'd love to have one more match, but, I can't, I think last night was an emotional moment for myself, the Undertaker, and the WWE Universe. But right now, I feel I should just make my final statements, and then leave the ring for the last time. There's a lot of people I want to thank. Number one is Mr. McMahon, for giving me the opportunity to come and work here. The second... is Bret Hart. I know we didn't really get along, especially with the Screwjob and all, but Bret has proven that he has the heart, and the ability to forgive and make amends for what happened that night. I'd like to thank the entire WWE locker room, for being good associates throughout the years, and I'll never forget working with you all. Last but not least... I'd like to thank Hunter, Triple H, for being a friend to me. Now, I know thata when I was younger, I was a very hard person to work with, and not alot of people got along with me, but... Hunter looked past that. He was a real friend to me, and... you know, I'll miss him the most I think... Thank you all, I think it's my time to go... Goodbye everybody...<hr>

I'm intrigued to see what direction you take this in as I will be posting a new diary soon starting the night after Wrestlemania 26, and have everything planned all the way up to Summerslam, and can already see a few differences in direction, both big and small.

I have to ask where JR has suddenly sprung back up from as Michael Cole should be on Raw, but apart from that I have enjoyed the start.

Shelton Benjamin vs William Regal

Hopefully you use him and don't make the mistake the WWE made of releasing him.

John Morrison vs Zack Ryder

Morrison has come on leaps and bounds the past 7/8 months. Long may it continue.

Evan Bourne & Yoshi Tatsu vs The DudeBusters

AirBourne ftw!

<hr>Josh Matthews - Good evening ladies and gentlemen, this is WWE Superstars!

Jerry Lawler - I got to say guys, I'm really excited for the line-up tonight!

Michael Cole - As am I, Bourne and Tatsu taking on the DudeBusters, Morrison vs Ryder, and in the main event, Shelton Benjamin vs William Regal.

Lawler - Now, let's get down to business. It was just announced on Monday Night Raw that Batista and John Cena will be going at it at Extreme Rules!

Cole - What a night that will be. All extreme, all night. The speculation for that match will be announced next week on RAW, as well as some other matches. But don't forget about Smackdown!, they should have some great matches coming up too, so don't forget to watch on Friday.

Matthews - And with that, let's get to the matches!<hr>

The DudeBusters vs Yoshi Tatsu & Evan Bourne

Yoshi Tatsu and Caylen Croft start in the ring. As the bell rings, Croft jumps at his opponent, only to be kicked in the stomach by Tatsu. Tatsu, following the kick, ducked under a wild punch from Croft, turned him around and kept moving with his forward roll Snapmare. With Croft sitting up, he planted a kick right in his face and tagged out to Evan Bourne. As Croft got to his feet, Bourne sprung into the ring with a Springboard Hurricanrana. With Croft again, sitting on the ground, Bourne sprinted to the ropes, and planted a dropkick to the back of the 'DudeBuster'. Croft rolled towards his corner, and Trent Baretta tagged himself in. Baretta came rolling in, and thrusted Bourne into the air, only for Bourne to come down with a double knee drop. Bourne tagged out to Yoshi Tatsu, who awaited for Trent to stand up, and hit him with his Roaring Elbow. Baretta fell flat on the canvas, as Tatsu tagged out once more to Bourne, who positioned himself on the top turnbuckle for Air Bourne. He hit it, and got the three count to garner a victory for the new tandem.

Zack Ryder vs John Morrison

John Morrison and Zack Ryder were rolling quickly as this match started up, with Morrison reversing a Hammerlock into an arm drag, and Zack Ryder kicking to his feet and hitting a drop toe hold to take Morrison to the mat. As Zack tried to ground the 'Guru of Greatness', Morrison turned over and booted him in the face, and sprung off the ropes for the Flying Chuck. But Ryder ducked under, and went for the school boy roll-up. Morrison kicked out at the one and a half, and kicked to his feet to continue to circle around Ryder. Ryder rushed Morrison, but found himself on his back following a European Uppercut. Morrison used his signature 180 Flare Legdrop, and positioned Ryder next to the turnbuckle. Morrison took a leap to the turnbuckle, and hit the Starship Pain, and ended Ryder's night with the three count.

John Morrison - As the Friday Night Delight, The Guru of Greatness, and the Shaman of Sexy, I feel the need to point this out. I'm the most unorthodox athlete in the WWE, and people need to take notice. When I do my parkour training, and my surfing, I work hard like nobody else in this organization, and I think it shows in my work. So I'm out here to say this. Please, Teddy Long, will you come out here, and give me a title shot at Extreme Rules...

William Regal vs Shelton Benjamin

The bell rings as William Regal and Shelton Benjamin circled the inside of the ring, and Shelton was the first to make a move, throwing a kick to the legs of William Regal, who tried to swing a wild overhand punch to take vengeance for the kick. Shelton moved with a sway, and fired back a flurry of punches and blasted Regal with a clothesline to the outside of the ring. The referee began to count Regal out, but he made his way back into the ring to continue to fight Shelton. Regal clinches up with Shelton and places three knees to the face of Shelton. Shelton, stumbled away and slumped over the ropes, as Regal threw a punch to the kidney area of Shelton, who grimaced in pain and dropped to his knees. The referee seperated the two, and as Shelton was getting up, Regal rushed for the Knee Trembler. Regal took the sprint, but found his knee between the ropes, as Shelton had just avoided the attack. As Regal turned around, he was met with a Superkick to the face. Shelton went for the cover, but only got the two count. Regal pulled himself to his feet with the aid of the ropes, and was hit with a dropkick to the knee, which visibly affected him. Regal stumbled around the ring, and was prone to the Paydirt, which connected, and gave Shelton the pin.

Just wanted to leave some feedback.

I'm enjoying the booking, but the character writing just seems very off, everybody seems to speak the same, Vince McMahon is a man with a plan, he'll never come out the ring saying "NXT is gone and erm.. well I'm not quite sure what I got to replace it, but I'll think of something"

None of the characters actually have any character it seems, and it takes away from the reading, and lack of "fella" during Sheamus promos also hurts :p

Like this match up and it could go either way but I will go with CM Punk and Drew for the win here.

WWE United States Championship

The Miz © vs Jimmy Wang Yang

Are you kidding Jimmy doesn't stand a chance here I like Jimmy but don't like the gimmick he was using upon his release. It makes sense though because he is an actual redneck in real life.

The Hart Dynasty vs The DudeBusters & Layla

Dudebusters aren't where they should be so I will go with The Hart Dynasty for an easy win.

JTG vs Goldust

Don't Care Next

John Morrison vs Matt Hardy vs Finlay vs Luke Gallows vs Dolph Ziggler vs Mike Knox

Going with John Morrison as I like him the best in this match, I do like Hardy, Finlay, Gallows and Ziggler but not Knox so if anyone wins I hope its not Knox.

Todd Grisham & Matt Striker

<hr>Todd Grisham - Hello ladies and gentlemen, it's that night of the week again...

Matt Striker - That's right, this is Friday Night Smackdown! I'm Matt Striker alongside my faithful commentary partner Todd Grisham.

Grisham - And tonight we have quite the show for you, as in the announced Main Event, CM Punk & Drew McIntyre will take on Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio.

Striker - It's sure to be quite the evening, but right now, Chris Jericho is in the ring.<hr>

http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae331/The_WWE/WWE/Smackdown/Week%201/ChrisJericho.jpg

Chris Jericho - For almost a week now, I've been aching, lying in pain, and have been unable to sleep because of what that maniac, that... that... that freak... that psycho Edge did to me on the Grandest Stage of them all... WrestleMania!

The crowd cheers following the mention of WrestleMania...

Jericho - But if we learned anything last sunday at WrestleMania... it's that whoever the WWE throws at me... I will handle them, and throw them around, and beat them profoundly until I win. Edge threw everything he had against me, and I still won. Another thing we learned, is that Edge... is a sore loser. That psycho... after our match, Speared me through a security barricade... and now... I can't sleep, I can barely walk, which means I will NOT be able to wrestle... at Extreme Rules...

The crowd boos Jericho as he seemingly 'backs out' of Extreme Rules... Just as they begin to hush, The general manager's music hits...

http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae331/The_WWE/WWE/Superstars/Week%201/TeddyLong.jpg

Teddy Long - Now hold on Playa! It seems you've misunderstood the way the hierarchy workes here on Smackdown! You're the champion, therefore you have to defend your title at Extreme Rules, because if you're unable to do so, we'll be forced to do the same thing we did to Melina. A World Heavyweight Title Tournament, ending in an Extreme Rules match at the Pay-Per-View.

The crowd pops at the mention of the tournament...

Jericho - No! You can't do this to me, my contract says so, my contract says that if I'm the champion, and I'm injured, I'm allowed a month's vacation to recover...

Long - Ahh... You see Chris, I figured you'd play that card, so I looked into something, and I found out that you used your month's vacation last year...

Jericho - Teddy... You're delusional, I never used my vacation, so I have a right to take the month off.

Long - Ahh... Playa, but you did. You went to Hawaii with The Big Show in celebration of your Slammy victory for a week, You went to Mexico for a week following your victory of the Unified Tag Championships, You returned to Mexico following your title defense with the Big Show. And you went to the Bahamas in celebration of Edge getting injured...

The crowd boos Jericho and goes into a state of shock and awe...

Jericho - Well... That's besides the point, I'm not wrestling and that's final.

Long - Jericho, you're being difficult, so I'll be difficult as well. Not only will you be wrestling at Extreme Rules, but you'll be wrestling tonight... against... Randy Orton.

Jericho - But...

Long - And if you don't, I'll have no choice but to strip you of your championship, and your contract... will be terminated.

The crowd cheers loudly as Jericho falls back into the ropes...

He manages to sit one leg on the ring canvas. But Morrison rebounds off the opposing ropes, and hits a baseball slide that knocks Gallows' leg off the canvas, and onto the ground below.

Just as he does, Ziggler went for the Zig Zag and hit it, sending Knox and Finlay crashing to the canvas. Finlay pulls himself to his feet and takes a run to Ziggler and Hardy and hits a Seated Senton onto both of them, but meets with a Running Knee from John Morrison. Morrison is in the ring with the three men all on the ground and in pain, so he grabs a hold onto Matt Hardy, and tosses him over the top rope, and out of the match.

With Ziggler and Finlay still on the ground, Morrison focuses on Finlay, hitting a Standing Shooting Star Press to make sure he's still hurt. Morrison hoists him to his feet, and tosses Finlay through the middle rope, but he hangs on. Morrison takes another run to the ropes, and hits a dropkick to Finlay's hands, and sends him to the ground.
