In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, TNG defeated Absolutely Flawless in 10:29 when Adam Matravers defeated Kelly Martin by pinfall with a Tomorrow. TNG make defence number 16 of their HIW Tag Titles.

 

* The Kelly twins worked well as a team but didn’t have the big-game temperament to compete with the champs

 

* Phoebe didn’t get involved but was great eye-candy

 

* Adam impressed in particular with his acrobatic style

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Double Dutch defeated Geordie Jimmy Morris & Puffy The Sand Iron Player in 9:04 when Frank De Pain defeated Puffy The Sand Iron Player by pinfall with an Orange Wave.

 

* Every time Jimmy and Puffy tried to get weapons involved the

speed of the Dutch cut them off

 

* The Dutch used lightning tags to stay fresh

 

* Jimmy and Puffy seemed inexperienced as a team but clearly are friends

Sergei Kalashnov is seen making his way to the ring on the big screen (not too big – this is HIW, but definitely an upgrade on the old OHP) and is attacked by a huge man in dark clothes. We never get a good look at him but the massive thug appears to be wearing some kind of furs.

Regardless he clubs Sergei down with some enormous fore-arms and leaves the Fresh Prince of Belarus for dead.

Jeffrey McPeterson vs. Sewer Crocodile

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Sewer Crocodile defeated Jeffery McPeterson in 11:42 by pinfall, illegally using the ropes for leverage.

 

* Sewer Croc showed great brawling ability. The big bruiser can certainly punch.

 

* Jeff is playing nice these days and didn’t resort to any sort of cheating.

 

* Sewer Croc did though. The match was full of sneaky moves from him.

“I’m clearly the toughest masked man in the UK and as soon as I’ve done all I can here I’m heading off to Japan. For now, you better enjoy what you can of me.”

“Unlike my opponent tonight. Byron may have seen some success in Europe but this is the big leagues. And to me he’s just a male model. A gigolo. A pretty-boy.

 

"He may think long hair is cool. He may think a freaky orange tan is cool/ you know what’s really cool? The HIW Title. And I have it.

 

“I am cool. I am the breeze.”

In a bout that had solid in-ring action and average heat, Joey Beauchamp defeated Byron in 14:40 by pinfall with a Breeze Block. During the match we also had UK Dragon run in and attack Joey Beauchamp. Joey Beauchamp makes defence number 23 of his High Impact UK Championship title.

 

* Joey looks strong but is momentarily blindsided when Dragon storms the ring before recovering to take the win.

 

* Dragon has never attacked anyone before – he’s normally scrupulously by the book.

 

* Byron also got in the way and seemed to be seriously hurt.

Well that was fun show to do and set up a few things in the new year but it seriously tanked ratings-wise...

 

To put it in context our last PPV of 2005 got an overall 74 and this got a 54. Ouch.

 

It was my fault for overestimating Byron's ability but we won't be seeing him for a while...

You both slipped up on Jeff vs Sewer Croc. Understandable really. Jeff did get a push last year but hes still only 20 and I dont want it to go to his head. He's probably more useful in a tag-team so we may bring Rod Todd back at some point.

 

Sewer Croc is a random-gen called Floyd Puder. He's been really succesful in 21CW and is really over in London so I wanted to snag him for a while. My new house rule is I can sign random-gens but only if I can come up with a character/alt/gimmick for them. Hence the silliness.

* Marat doesn’t use many moves but he doesn’t need to. One of his clubs is like getting hit by a car and his Moscow Lariat almost takes Falcon’s head off.

 

* That’s it. This is a smashing.

“Dragon – Joey has asked for a match after your actions last week. Would you care to explain yourself?”

 

Dragon

“I want to say something Joey. I know this sounds weird but it wasn’t me that attacked you.”

 

Joey

“What do you mean? Everyone saw you live on TV. You almost cost me the match!”

 

“I can’t explain it Joey. I’ve seen the video and it looks like me but I can’t remember anything. And you know I wouldn’t attack a man. If I have a problem I tell someone.”

 

“That is a crock of **** and you know it. You attacked me so let’s settle this. Right now.”

 

Dragon doesn’t seem satisfied and is even a little ashamed but he isn’t the kind of man who dodges a fight.

 

Joey Beauchamp vs. UK Dragon for the HIW UK Title

* Both men are at their best here but although both show great moves neither can quite finish the match.

That's more like it. Any match with Joey B and UK Dragon in it is likely to be a barnstormer and they produced oour 6th best match ever here (3 of the top 5 had Dark Angel in them).

 

Dragon claims he wasnt involved and Adam has now got involved? Something's going on here...

 

It was of course Marat Khoklov. The mystery pic looked much darker on the PC I made it on... Marat has been around a while and is known in Europe but this was his first ever UK match. Underwhelming but he should get over quickly.

Predictions:

 

Only 20Legend this week but you did manage a solid 3/4. Anarchy is surprisingly consistent and I just couldnt justify Pitbull winning here with all the advantages stacked against him. Pitbull is a bit of a slow-burning project in HIW.

Bit of an up-and-down show for me there.

 

I enjoyed writing it. Felt like lots of storylines moved along quite a bit.

 

The ME was pretty good. This makes me happy.

 

On the other hand:

 

The main storyline is coming together but I may have been abit heavyhanded.

 

I think I had too many attacks. I always wanted to do more once we were on TV so I'll have them out of my system soon...

Joey seems pretty fed up about all these attacks. Especially as no one is admitting responsibility. Are UK Dragon, TNG and Victor all working together? Are they just coincidences? Either way Joey is fighting again but not deigning to give these people a shot at his title.

Sewer Croc is a gen guy called Floyd Puder. Hes worked for 21CW for his whole career so is massively over in London but not much elsewhere. Good brawler and entertainer.

 

Anarchy is a gen called Darren White. Silly entertainment skills (98+) and solid everywhere else (around 60s).
