The Fearsome Bunsen in the UK - HIW

Recommended Posts

Joey Beauchamp vs. Victor Rodriguez for the HIW UK title

No title change here

Sharky George vs. Fred Murray

Sharky gets this one or maybe not but everytime I see Murray´s alt I´m thinking "Gee it´s Nuzzle Bunny" (yeah I blame Jingo for that:p) and so I just can´t take him seriously.

Rolling Johnny Stones vs. Hugo Lopes

Victor Hugo won´t win tag titles but maybe they can get a win here in order to make them look like bigger threat for tag champs

Leon Harrison, Jon Harrow & the Red Dragon vs. Sergei Kalashnov, Dolf Kernen & Geordie Jim Morris

I just don´t care anyone on the other team

The Rejects & Double Dutch vs. Youth Explosion, Adam Matravers & ???

How Youth Explosion could find better partner than a jedi master? :p

Bleed Forever

Friday week 4 March 2002

Attendance: 1,000

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8106/thefearsomebunsen.jpg

The Fearsome Bunsen introduces the show tonight wearing his traditional lab coat and using his trademark green explosion. He runs down matches, participants and news from HIW.

C- 59

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8650/johnnystones.jpg

Rolling Johnny Stones tells the crowd that unfortunately Danny Paterson is still unavailable so Rolling Johnny Stones will be competing against one of the tag challengers head-to-head.

“I was ready to defend the belts, but The Bunsen wouldn’t agree. Guess I outnumber these idiots 1 to 2.”

Rolling Johnny Stones vs. Hugo Lopes

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8650/johnnystones.jpgvshttp://img6.imageshack.us/img6/7886/hugolopes.jpg

Hugo is a slippery customer and stands up quite well out of the shadow of the more accomplished Gypsy Prince but even so Johnny is clearly the aggressor here. The match is finished when Johnny’s stable mate Kathleen Lee comes to ringside to distract Hugo allowing Johnny to hit his Brainbuster.

Winner: Rolling Johnny Stones

Backstage we see where Johnny’s other pals were during the match: The Damned and Pitbull Brown were uncorking a vicious attack on Ricky Storm.

D+ 53

http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/6474/sergeikalashnovalt4.jpghttp://img97.imageshack.us/img97/1475/dolfkernen.jpghttp://img69.imageshack.us/img69/8616/geordiejimmymorris2.jpg

http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/4456/geordiejimmymorris.jpg

Eastern Bloc (Sergei Kalashnov & Dolf Kernen) perform a rap with Geordie Jimmy Morris. As we’ve seen before the Ukrainian and German are far easier to understand than Jim’s Newcastle twang. The gist of the rap is that Sergei has figured out how to bat Leon and wants a rematch for the Velocity belt next week.

D+ 51

Leon Harrison, Jon Harrow & The Red Dragon vs. Eastern Bloc & Geordie Jimmy Morris

Leon’s cobbled together team look it here as Eastern Bloc (and their sometime ally Jimmy) use combinations and teamwork to expose the Dragon in particular. Sergei manages again to hit his flying Eastern Block to put Jon Harrow down and although Leon tries to break it up, he is kept away by Dolf and Jimmy.

Winners: Eastern Bloc & Geordie Jimmy Morris

After the match Eastern Bloc take the opportunity of a numbers advantage to attack Leon Harrison. They leave him down in the ring before repeating their challenge for Leon to face Sergei again for the title next week.

Leigh Burton cuts a promo ahead of Youth Explosion’s 4-way match tonight. He is obviously upset at the continued attacks on his partner Ricky Storm and vows to make the Rejects pay. He also talks about the ongoing bid to replace Toby Juan Kenobi. Tonight they will be giving a trial to a young 18 year old prospect – Don Henderson.

D+ 52

The Rejects & Double Dutch vs. Youth Explosion & Adam Matravers & Don Henderson

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/2973/pitbullbrown.jpghttp://img708.imageshack.us/img708/3265/thedamned.jpghttp://img822.imageshack.us/img822/9307/ruudvanangeralt1.jpghttp://img689.imageshack.us/img689/3561/frankdepainalt1.jpgvshttp://img9.imageshack.us/img9/3493/leighburton.jpghttp://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1640/rickystorm.jpghttp://img806.imageshack.us/img806/9586/adammatravers.jpg

Youth explosion are hampered with Ricky at half strength and Don looking new and nervous in his first ever professional match. Double Dutch don’t help of course, but this match is really about Pitbull and the Damned taking their brawling skills to Leigh Burton. And the extra man helps as (after a low blow) Pitbull manages to hit his Doghouse Piledriver on young Don Henderson.

Winners: The Rejects & Double Dutch

Sharky George comes to the ring before his match.

“Let me say to you again Joey – you can keep fighting people like Victor Rodriguez if it makes you happy. Celebrate and lap it up as the days are counting down until you and me have a rematch. And every one of those days I’m bleeding in this ring and handing out beatings that guys will never recover from. Every day I’m proving I’m more of a man than any of you damn Poms can ever be. Every day I’m getting closer and closer to kicking your English ass. And I’m going to do the next best thing tonight. Kick the crap out of your best pal Fred Murray.”

C- 55

Sharky George vs. Fred Murray

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6013/sharkygeorge.jpgvshttp://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9711/fredmurray.jpg

Sharky is a man on fire tonight as he brings his cricket bat down to the ring and starts laying into an increasingly desperate Fred. Fred is no mean fighter and a lot tougher than he looks (Nuzzle bunny indeed!) coming from his rural Irish background, but the sheer violence of Sharky seems unstoppable...

Until a 3rd man enters the ring with his own weapon. The Steamroller (with a chain) jumps Sharky from behind and lays the Australian out with a cheap shot. Sharky isn’t one to give up and the two men trade blows ignoring Fred who is taken aback by the enormous brawlers going all out. The referee rings the bell to abandon the match but it still takes 10 security guards to pull Sharky and Steamroller apart.

Winner: match abandoned

D 47

http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1802/victorrodriguez.jpg

The Gypsy Prince Victor Rodriguez talks to the crowd before his title shot. He claims that although he’s seen as a tag wrestler right now he’s beaten a lot of top HIW stars one-on-one and deserves this match. In fact, Victor also claims he has seen the future through his Romany clan’s mystic knowledge and it contains an HIW title.

D+ 53

Victor Rodriguez vs. Joey “The Breeze” Beauchamp for the HIW UK title

http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1802/victorrodriguez.jpgvshttp://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2596/joeybeauchamp.jpg

Victor wasn’t lying when h said he was the equal of any man in HIW and he proves it tonight by using a stunning mastery of pure wrestling to combat the smaller, faster and exciting Breeze. Joey is no slouch of course and manages to get his own share of high-wire attacks in but Victor looks like picking up the win...

Until Rolling Johnny Stones appears and interrupts just as Victor has his Spanish Stretch submission move locked in. The Breeze will take any opportunity to roar back into a match and with Victor confused Joey launches a flying elbow from the turnbuckle that sends Victor down.

Winner: Joey Beauchamp

C- 55

http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2596/joeybeauchamp.jpghttp://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9711/fredmurray.jpg

After the match Joey is joined by Fred Murray. The two of them claim that they’ve got huge, stupid guys on all sides trying to knock them down, but the HIW fans respect speed, toughness and the sheer excitement of smaller guys like them. That’s why The Breeze holds the belt and that’s why the two men are right at the top of UK wrestling. Joey tells Sharky that he’s waiting for the rematch but before then it looks like his own hands might be full with The Steamroller.

High Impact Wrestling Presents:

Broken Promises

http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/2072/hiwbrokenpromises.jpg

Friday week 2 April 2002

Attendance: 921

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8106/thefearsomebunsen.jpg

The Fearsome Bunsen introduces the show from the centre of the ring in his full regalia. He focuses on the Velocity belt being on the line between Sergei Kalashnov and Leon Harrison, another Rejects/Youth Explosion showdown and the main event where two tag tams of unlikely bedfellows will be competing in personal grudge matches.

http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/3493/leighburton.jpghttp://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1640/rickystorm.jpg

Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton & Ricky Storm) cut a promo complaining that they’ve already proved they can beat the Rejects (Pitbull Brown & The Damned) and shouldn’t have t fight them again. It’s just not fair!

C- 55

Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton & Ricky Storm) vs. The Rejects (Pitbull Brown & The Damned)

Leigh and Ricky are very confident here, but have clearly underestimated the dangerous brawling of the Rejects after a couple of wins. As a result this match gets dirtier than expected and the Youth Explosioners seem shaken.

And that’s before a returning face gets involved: Danny Patterson. The huge monster has been out with an injury but storms into the ring and puts Leigh down allowing Pitbull to pick up the easy pin.

Winners: The Rejects

Kathleen Lee (The backing singer/manager from Rolling Johnny Stones band the Richmond Mafia) talks to the HIW crowd and proclaims that the band are dominant again with Danny back in the fold and will be the team to watch out for once they’ve finally ended Leigh and Ricky’s careers for good.

The Fearsome Bunsen introduces the next match where two very inexperienced tag-teams will be competing for a spot in a match at the next show. The winners tonight will be the 3rd team in a 6 man TLC match.

The Shortcuts are a Kiwi/Essex team who have shown a disrespect for the rules and Double Dutch are a pair of easy-going Dutchmen who have shown very little regard for their safety.

C 63

The Shortcuts (Darren White & Francis O’Brien) vs. Double Dutch (Frank de Pain & Ruud van Anger)

Both teams are desperate for the shot in a big match next week and we se plenty of suicidal leaps, but neither team really have enough experience to light this up. In the end the Dutchmen’s superior teamwork enables them to hit a devastating Coffee Shop Cross Block for the win.

Winners: Double Dutch

D 44

Sharky George is preparing backstage for his headline match. He talks briefly about his quest to prove himself as the most extreme, hardcore man in HIW but is interrupted by...

http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6366/thesteamroller.jpg

The Steamroller. The big man gets right in Sharky’s face (and above it too) and provides his own hardcore credentials by putting his fist through Sharky’s dressing room mirror. The two men stare each other down.

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/5655/lucasdanger.jpghttp://img704.imageshack.us/img704/6474/sergeikalashnovalt4.jpg

Leon Harrison and Sergei Kalashnov both enter the ring ahead of their showdown. Leon announces that win or lose, this will be their final match as he has bigger fish to fry (and ‘alternative lifestyle’ clubs to visit).

Sergei claims that he’s happy as he is finally going to take the belt tonight.

Leon Harrison vs. Sergei Kalashnov for the HIW Velocity title

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/5655/lucasdanger.jpgvshttp://img704.imageshack.us/img704/6474/sergeikalashnovalt4.jpg

There’s an air of desperation here as both men are super-keen to impose their authority on the other man, and it’s a fairly short match for two small, athletic chaps. Sergei seems smug and ready and especially happy when his Eastern Bloc partner Dolf Kernen runs in but in Dolf’s enthusiasm he manages to clout Sergei with a huge German fist before stopping in astonishment allowing Leon to pin Sergei.

Winner : Leon Harrison

http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/2596/joeybeauchamp.jpghttp://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9711/fredmurray.jpg

The Hustlers (Joey Beauchamp & Fred Murray) come to the ring with mics ahead of their match. Joey acknowledges that as a champion he will have to fight all comers and doesn’t begrudge a team coming for him. And Fred. Joey does allow that Leo Price is a dangerous fighter now after spending a fortune on private gyms and training and lets Fred know that he will take care of the more dangerous opponent. Fred doesn’t seem particularly impressed.

C 62

The Hustlers (Joey Beauchamp & Fred Murray) vs. The Foundation (Leo Price & Stevie Stoat)

http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/2596/joeybeauchamp.jpghttp://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9711/fredmurray.jpgvshttp://img4.imageshack.us/img4/8251/leoprice.jpghttp://img820.imageshack.us/img820/8900/steviestoat.jpg

With Joey the crowd’s favourite, Fred is still a little miffed through this match.

Leo has spent a lot of money honing his craft, and clearly the lessons have paid off as he seems to know every hold and counter in the game. His lieutenant Stoat is pretty skilled too, but something is missing from the pair of them. Instinct maybe. Or nature.

Either way The Foundation are strong here, but it’s the exuberance and flair of the Hustlers that decides things when Fred (who has stayed in the ring a lot trying to prove his point) reacts quickest to a slight slip and hits Stevie Stoat with a Termination Slam.

Winners: The Hustlers

C 65

http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2596/joeybeauchamp.jpg

After the match Joey takes a mic and reminds the other HIW workers that he has the belt and will defend it against anyone brave enough to take him on. And to show how unafraid he is next week he will put the title on the line in a ladder match against whoever is willing.

A video plays (on the HIW OHP [Over Head Projector Nightshade]) showing the rivalry between Rolling Johnny Stones and The Gypsy Prince Victor Rodriguez. They’ve been fighting over the tag titles. Also featured is Sharky George and his quest to show how ‘Hardcore’ he is. In response we also see Geordie Jimmy Morris’ career highlights. He has taken a great number of sick bumps.

Slobberknocker. A really open match here as all 4 men manage to look strong and dangerous. Or should we say five men as the Steamroller stands at the side of the ring staring at Sharky throughout. However the match doesn’t solve any issues apart from the hardcore one as Sharky introduces his trusty cricket bat and takes it to Geordie Jimmy Morris resoundingly before hitting his Shark Attack for the win.

“I’m not scared of anyone in this cold, miserable country mate. Certainly not some oversized ex-con wannabe with a crush on me. You want to have a go? Fine. Next week it’s you and me in the ring. No rules. Let’s just see who the better man is.”

HIW Presents:

The Man Don’t Give a F***

http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/9493/hiwthemandontgiveaf.jpg

Friday week 4 April 2002

Attendance: 1,000

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8106/thefearsomebunsen.jpg

The Fearsome Bunsen introduces the show and runs down the big names present tonight. He explains that Sharky and Steamroller will be facing off in the ring but with a partner each in a tag team encounter. Steamroller has announced his partner will be fellow hardcore legend Geordie Jimmy Morris.

Also, The Breeze has agreed to defend his UK belt against anyone in a ladder match. His opponent will be Ricky Storm.

http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1802/victorrodriguez.jpghttp://img6.imageshack.us/img6/7886/hugolopes.jpg

The Gypsy prince Victor Rodriguez calls out Rolling Johnny Stones and Danny Patterson and demands a title shot to win ‘his’ belts back. The Spaniard gets increasingly histrionic about it and throws a pretty spectacular tantrum before the two musicians come out to accept.

C- 54

Victor Hugo vs. Rolling Johnny Stones & Danny Patterson for the HIW tag titles

http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1802/victorrodriguez.jpghttp://img6.imageshack.us/img6/7886/hugolopes.jpgvshttp://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8650/johnnystones.jpghttp://img28.imageshack.us/img28/3972/dannypattersonalt2.jpg

Victor hasn’t really calmed down and there’s a lot of foot stamping and pouting going on but it does lend him some high energy at least which looks to do enough. The game-plan is basically Victor (who’s a big lad) taking down a man and then Hugo launching himself from the turnbuckle to do some damage. Unfortunately this doesn’t work against the giant Danny Patterson who manages to hit his Towerbomb on both men.

Winners: Rolling Johnny Stones & Danny Patterson

Starting with militant separatist The Red Dragon.

This match is hugely open as everyone basically tries to avoid Leo and focus on pinning the smaller men in the ring. Unfortunately it’s a matter of time as no one can quite hit fast enough to steer clear of the millionaire. Leo ends up pinning Frank de Pain for the win after hitting his patented Price Drop move.

Winners: The Foundation

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6013/sharkygeorge.jpg

Sharky George again brags about how tough and extreme he is, willing to bleed and take pain for the chance to win. Tonight for the match against Steamroller his partner will be: Leigh Burton. The two men have a chequered past so it’s a big surprise they would consider working together.

Sharky George & Leigh Burton vs. Steamroller & Geordie Jimmy Morris

This match descends very quickly into a barely controlled brawl to the surprise of no one. Leigh is no natural to this sort of match, but the other 3 men introduce weapons and seem very willing to take big hits to prove themselves.

The match is finished when Geordie Jimmy has Leigh pinned in the centre of the ring with Steamroller down outside the ring... When Sharky pulls out his now-trademark cricket bat and nails Jimmy at full force in the back of his skull. 1-2-3 and it’s a fast pin.

Winners: Sharky George & Leigh Burton

After the match Sharky and Leigh are warily celebrating together in the ring before they realise their mistake - Steamroller was down but not out.

http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6366/thesteamroller.jpg

The enormous ex-con suddenly roars back into the ring and cracks Sharky and Leigh’s heads together before unleashing a series of vicious kicks to Sharky’s head before leaving the Aussie unconscious.

Ricky Storm (backed by Adam Matravers and Petey Barnes) cuts a promo slating Steamroller for his cowardly attack on Leigh but also hyping his own chances of gold against Joey Beauchamp. Ricky tells the crowd that finally someone in HIW is standing up for the youth of today and isn’t content to sit back and let has-bens like Steamroller walk all over them. Which is why he is so sure he can take the title away from Joey.

Joey “The Breeze” Beauchamp vs. Ricky Storm for the HIW UK title in a ladder match

http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2596/joeybeauchamp.jpgvshttp://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1640/rickystorm.jpg

Both men make great use of the ladder in using it to launch themselves even sillier distances and heights with both men spending a lot of time dazed after death-defying moves. There seems to be genuine respect between them as the Youth Explosion underlings wait at ringside but resist cheating at all.

The end comes as both men are outside the ring. Ricky sets up the ladder for a big drop onto Joey, but the Breeze somehow sprints up it to reach the top first before leaping from the ladder by the turnbuckle through the air to grab the belt hanging in the centre of the ring. It’s pretty amazing.

Winner: Joey Beauchamp

C- 56

http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2596/joeybeauchamp.jpg

Joey holds an exhausted quick interview where he lauds Ricky as a great opponent and a future champion but tells everyone that it’s too soon for anyone to take his title away. However that was a great match and so he’s giving Ricky another chance for glory. A tag team match at the next show between Joey and Fred Murray versus Ricky and Leigh.

The Hustlers (Joey Beauchamp & Fred Murray) vs. Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton & Ricky Storm)

Joey beat Ricky last week but it was a close match and theres a real respect between both camps.

Richmond Mafia (Rolling Johnny Stones, Danny Patterson, Pitbull Brown & The Damned) vs. Sharky George, Jon Harrow, Victor Rodriguez & Hugo Lopes

Victor Hugo have a rivalry with Johnny and Danny. Sharky will fight anyone at the moment to prove himself. Who the hell is going to come out on top?

Leon Harrison vs. Adam Matravers for the HIW Velocity title

Leon has held this well. Is it time for someone to take it from him? Is Adam part of a Youth Explosion explosion?

The Steamroller vs. Arjen van der Bilt

The dangerous giant takes on a diminutive Dutchman...

The Foundation (Leo Price & Stevie Stoat) vs. The Shortcuts (Darren White & Francis O'Brien)

Leo has been on a bit of a roll with Stevie but his lack of charisma and aloofness are preventing the crowd getting on his side. How can he overcome that? Does he care? Will the cheating Shortcuts have a secret weapon?

The Hustlers (Joey Beauchamp & Fred Murray) vs. Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton & Ricky Storm)

I like both teams, but to my way of thinking neither Ricky nor Leigh are yet at the stage where they can be a top guy- they're close, probably legit challengers, but not legit franchise players

Richmond Mafia (Rolling Johnny Stones, Danny Patterson, Pitbull Brown & The Damned) vs. Sharky George, Jon Harrow, Victor Rodriguez & Hugo Lopes

Again, I like Sharky, and if memory serves Harrow's a decent worker, but the Mafia are a cohesive force and that gives them the edge in this match

Leon Harrison vs. Adam Matravers for the HIW Velocity title

Matravers is the best High Flier in Britain, simple as

The Steamroller vs. Arjen van der Bilt

Arjen seems like the fall guy for the Dutch contingent, and Steamroller's being positioned as a top guy

The Foundation (Leo Price & Stevie Stoat) vs. The Shortcuts (Darren White & Francis O'Brien)

Because the shortcuts feel like jobbers

Just read all of this this afternoon- it's good stuff.

The Hustlers (Joey Beauchamp & Fred Murray) vs. Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton & Ricky Storm)

Unless there is some shenigans happening, I don´t see Hustlers loosing here

Richmond Mafia (Rolling Johnny Stones, Danny Patterson, Pitbull Brown & The Damned) vs. Sharky George, Jon Harrow, Victor Rodriguez & Hugo Lopes

Names group over random collection

Leon Harrison vs. Adam Matravers for the HIW Velocity title

I´m probably wrong here (Burton or Storm would likely be better choice than Matravers to win this title) but Youth Explosion could use some titles to make them look little bit better

The Steamroller vs. Arjen van der Bilt

How could I go against a guy with that kind of name, I mean he isn´t exatcly worth his name if single Ducth guy is going to stop him, now is he?

The Foundation (Leo Price & Stevie Stoat) vs. The Shortcuts (Darren White & Francis O'Brien)

Foundation is possible my favorite team, so no way I pick against them here

Ahead of our next show (International language of Screaming)

http://a.imageshack.us/img541/261/hiwinternationallanguag.jpg

I wanted to give a bit of info. I've got a few guys on my roster that have been generated to fill the universe out a bit as well as a few workers who are'nt used very much. To help out readers I thought I'd try and give a quick snapshot of them. let me know if it' a good or rubbish idea.

And thanks for the comments peeps. It's really interesting to see who are favourites and who aren't when I'm using some more obscure workers. Much appreciated.

Who is: Fred Murray?

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9711/fredmurray.jpg

Fred is a middleweight Irishman. 25 years old. He's from the sticks which explain some of his less-than-polished appearance.

Has worked for 21CW and MOSC in the past but is happily exclusive for HIW right now. He's spent most of his HIW career working Joey Beauchamp and has been a solid if unspectacular worker.

Storywise he's been happy to tag along with Joey's success and help out where he can as the two men are firm friends, but signs have started to appear that he might not be happy as a number two wheel forever...

Friday Week 4 May 2002

Attendance: 1,000

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8106/thefearsomebunsen.jpg

The Fearsome Bunsen introduces the show from his backstage lab where he appears to be opening his mail. As usual test tubes bubble and centrifuge whirl and this week a Van der Graaf generator clicks away attracting Bunsen’s mane of wild hair.

Bunsen hypes the main event of The Hustlers granting Youth Explosion a tag match after Ricky impressed 2 weeks ago. He also mentions the big match between the Richmond Mafia vs. Sharky George, Victor Rodriguez and pals.

“Plotting relations between 8 objects is a Trojan point nightmare! Luckily one wrestling company can help you. And if the answer is HIW what is the question?”

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/5655/lucasdanger.jpg

Leon Harrison cuts a promo in which he claims he is the most exciting wrestler in HIW as no one can take his Velocity title. Leon also claims that as the most attractive man around the only reason anyone will challenge him is they want to get their hands on him.

“Don’t fight your sexuality boys. There are easier ways to my heart than a sweaty suplex.”

Leon Harrison vs. Adam Matravers for the HIW Velocity title

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/5655/lucasdanger.jpgvshttp://a.imageshack.us/img96/9586/adammatravers.jpg

Both smaller men come out fighting here but it’s clear who the stronger man is. Adam is all over Leon (not like that) and gets a couple of close 2-counts in the first 5 minutes.

As it becomes clearer and clearer that Leon doesn’t have what it takes the champion makes the decision it’s better to cut and run and Leon slides out of the ring and heads for backstage leaving Adam victorious but frustrated, alone and belt-less.

Winner: Leon Harrison retains (after being counted out)

Adam Matravers is joined by The Fearsome Bunsen in the ring. Bunsen sympathises with Adam over the events and announces that Leon has become something of a liability with his flaunting of rules and honour. As a result Bunsen is creating a tournament that will decide the Velocity title. And Leon and Adam are the first entrants.

http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6366/thesteamroller.jpg

The Steamroller comes out and talks to the crowd before his match. He claims that although he technically lost to Sharky last week in their tag match he certainly wasn’t pinned and the kicking he handed out after the match should show everyone who the most hardcore man in HIW is.

“I’m the real deal Sharky. You’re just another Aussie whiner. Let’s see how long you’d last in an English prison.”

The Fearsome Bunsen announces the next match between the Shortcuts and Leo Price’s Foundation. The Foundation swagger out looking like they own the place (Quids-in Leo probably does) and the Shortcuts sidle in like mangy dogs.

“It’s a simple equation between money, talent and experience. But even the easiest equation can go wrong. For example, in photosynthesis we see that chlorophyll C6H12O6...”

Leo lets Stevie Stoat take most of the burden here and he goes to work on the sneaky Kiwi O’Brien who’s easy meat. Darren White steps in and is more convincing but Leo ends it with a Price Drop on O’Brien after a smooth double-team move.

Winners: The Foundation

D+ 53

http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/5797/darrenwhite2.jpg

Darren White seizes a microphone after the loss and claims that he was not the man to blame here.

The Richmond Mafia perform a warm-up song in the arena ahead of their match with Sharky, Victor et al.

Victor Rodriguez, Hugo Lopes, Sharky George and Jon Harrow promo come out to taunt the band. Sharky (with his cricket bat) says he wants to test himself against the toughest guys around whilst Victor and Hugo will take any match against the men that took their tag titles. Jon harrow is just another Aussie looking for a fight.

This match is pretty much a mess as everyone gets involved, there are run-ins aplenty, weapons get used and heads busted. However the main men (Johnny, Sharky, Danny and Victor) all come out strong and things go down to a very tight finish as Victor takes advantage of a big Johnny/Sharky bump to hit a low blow and sneak the win.

Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton & Ricky Storm) come and talk to the crowd. They claim that they’re the only ones who understand what it’s like for the average HIW fan and they’re tired of doing what the so-called adult authority figures tell them. From here on they’re making a run for glory.

“If you’re victimised like us, if you’re tired of not being heard then there’s a place for you. In the Youth Explosion Army.”

The Hustlers (Joey Beauchamp & Fred Murray) respond to Burton and Storm cautiously. Joey praises them as fighters but says they have a lot to learn in the ring that experience will bring. And then maybe someday they will have a chance at winning titles like he has. Fred doesn’t look particularly pleased at Joey’s talk of achievement and championships.

An all-action affair of the kind that HIW fans lap up as many smaller men do silly things to each other in highly visible, innovative and dangerous ways. All 4 men have great athleticism and flair and there is a ton of back and forth with all four men beating close counts.

However as expected, the class starts to perform and Joey steadily takes hold of the match showing just why he is HIW UK champ.

Before the surprise. As Fred lines up Ricky for the Breeze Block somehow the younger man manages to reach Leigh and make the hot tag. Burton comes in steaming and hits Fred (the legal man) with a swinging DDT.

Surely Joey will make the save though? No. He’s down in pain after Adam Matravers and Petey Barnes snuck up with the attention on the in0-ring action and laid the champ out.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions chaps. Its really helpful stuff. For a dynasty like this where its supposed to be pretty chaotic and non-linear in terms of heirarchy within the promo its good to hear any sort of helpful criticism.

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

I.L.o.S was a pretty difficult show to predict as I needed my champ to lose to lower lights to prevent his overness getting too far from everyone else.

And of course the Richmond Mafia losing was a bit off the wall too. They are a strong team together but cracks may be appearing as jealousy arises between the stronger and weaker pairs within the band (RJS/Danny and Pitbull/Damned)

Adam matravers is really talented but remember he's just 19 here and hasnt been around too long. In contrast Leon Harrison is quite famous and has a cult following...

I'd like to run a prize but I'm not sure what to offer. Let me know which of these would be more fun:

A) Nominate a stipulation for a match on the next show

B) Sign a wrestler of your choice (obviously not every show!)

C) Winner gets to interview an HIW worker on next show

D) Something else...

Joey liked Ricky's attitude and granted Youth Explosion a match last week whereupon he was assaulted by the younger member os Y.E and lost in an upset. Now this is a grudge match...

Sharky George vs. The Steamroller vs. Geordie Jimmy Morris

Who is hardcore? Who is the toughest? Will Steamroller and Sharky get hold of each other ?

Ricky Storm vs. Pitbull

Ricky has been involved with The Breeze, but Pitbuill and The Damned havent forgotten their rivalry. Will Rickys high-flying be able to beat a brawler?

The Foundation (Leo Price & Stevie Stoat) vs. Eastern Bloc (Sergei Kalashnov & Dolf Kernen)

Leo has been on a roll. Sergei came close to winning the Velocity title.

Leon Harrison vs. Arjen van der Bilt

The first Velocity League match. Can Arjen cause an upset?

I don´t see Burton taking this one, he just haven´t been built strong enough as singles guy to get UK title.

Sharky is still one of your top guys

Ricky Storm vs. Pitbull

Ricky is more important to his team than Pitbull

The Foundation (Leo Price & Stevie Stoat) vs. Eastern Bloc (Sergei Kalashnov & Dolf Kernen)

I´m just playing favorites here

Leon Harrison vs. Arjen van der Bilt

Leon is your midcard champ while Arjen just got squashed like a bug so this should go to Leon
