The Fearsome Bunsen in the UK - HIW

Recommended Posts

As always, thanks very much everyone for reading and commenting on my litte game. I'm still having a blast with this.

Nightshadeex 5/6 18/24

Zergon 4/6 16/24

ajcrible 4/6 16/24

1PWfan N/A 10/12

Nighshadeex seems to have hit on my formula (I have a formula!?!) and takes the win. Feel free to ask away to any HIW employee. (Loved the last question BTW. Silliness is awesome in HIW.)

Joey Beauchamp vs. Rolling Johnny Stones

These two clashed last week in tag action and Stones isnt happy at losing. The 2-time champ has been a little out of the centre recently and desperately wants his seat back at the top table

Victor Hugo vs. The Rejects for the HIW tag titles

The champs have promised to keep fighting (in contrast to Stones and Patterson who avoided defences) and have another tough team. The Rejetcs finally had to admit they were inferior to Youth Explosion last week but will want to redouble their efforts.

Sharky George vs. Geordie Jimmy Morris

Sharky has fallen into a nasty habit of cricket-batting opponents in the goolies but if anyone doesnt care it's the grizzled Geordie ex-binman. Jimmy has shown his ability to take pain and will want to finally sut up this Aussie yob.

The Steamroller vs. Danny Patterson

The huge ex-con took a beating from Sharky's bat last week but actually could have win that match. These two are the biggest men in HIW so will our ring be able to take the strain?

SuperFalcon vs. Leon Harrison - Velocity League

This is the decider of theie group. Whoever wins goes through to the smis. Falcon has a 100% record during this stint in HIW. Can he knock the belt holder out in the group stages?

Ruud van Anger vs. Francis O'Brien - Velocity League

Both men are actually out already as Red Dragon has the group won so this is a pride match. Dutch or Kiwi? Honest scrapper or dirty cheater?

Joey Beauchamp vs. Rolling Johnny Stones

Victor Hugo vs. The Rejects

Sharky George vs. Geordie Jimmy Morris

The Steamroller vs. Danny Patterson

SuperFalcon vs. Leon Harrison

Ruud van Anger vs. Francis O'Brien

Joey Beauchamp vs. Rolling Johnny Stones

I´m probably wrong here but I just like Johnny better and after two losses he could use a big win

Victor Hugo vs. The Rejects

Too early for a change

Sharky George vs. Geordie Jimmy Morris

Sharky is simply better

The Steamroller vs. Danny Patterson

Not sure about this one so i just predict the guy i like more

SuperFalcon vs. Leon Harrison

I don´t see Leon losing this one since he´s the champ and thus should easily go forward from group stage

Ruud van Anger vs. Francis O'Brien

O´Brian is a jobber so he jobs

Friday week 2 July 2002

Attendance: 1,000

The Fearsome Bunsen introduces the show and runs down on current events. He talks about The Hustlers (Joey Beauchamp & Fred Murray) issues with the Richmond Mafia, Youth Explosions long-awaited triumph over The Rejects and Victor Hugo's red-hot form in defending the tag titles.

The Gypsy Prince Victor Rodriguez (accompanied by Hugo Lopes) cuts a promo hyping his team's 3rd reign as tag champs. Again Victor states that gy[sy magic is on his side and noone can defeat him which is why he was happy to accept a challenge for the belts from The Rejects (Pitbull Brown & The Damned).

The Rejects are visibly riled after losing to Youth Explosion last week but think that brawling might succeed against the Iberians where others have failed.

It's a close match as most are in HIW, but unfortunately for the Rejects they're wrong and Victor's technical excellence sets the Rejects up for a Paella Surprise.

Winner: Victor Hugo

The Fearsome Bunsen hypes the ongoing Velocity League. 2 groups will be decided tonight and the other two next week.

Ruud van Anger vs. Francis O’Brien - Velocity League

This is a dead rubber as The Red Dragon has already won this match but both men go all out for a morale-boosting win anyway. Its not particularly great though and even when darren White interferes on behalf of his partner Darren (without the ref noticing) the crowd just snoozes on...

This is our worst match in some months.

Winner: Francis O'Brien

E- 17

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/5655/lucasdanger.jpg

Current Velocity champ Leon Harrison talks to the crowd ahead of his final group match. Super Falcon was pretty impressive in his opening win over Arjen van der Bilt and Leon seems a little blustering when he guarantees victory. As Leon says - who would want to watch Velocity semi-finals without the reigning champion?

Frustratingly it's Leon that doesnt look great here. Not because SuperFalcon dominates the match at all, but because Leon has clearly been 'indulging' backstage again and just seems sloppy.

Nevertheless this is a decent match full of spots and both men seem like contenders before Leon manages to hit his Electric Shock and steal the win over a furious Falcon.

Winner: Leon Harrison

http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/3972/dannypattersonalt2.jpg

Danny Patterson is seen (on the HIW OHP of course) warming up earlier in the day for his match with Steamroller. Danny is of course a monster of a man and acts like one too as he breaks bottles over his own head. Danny actually looks like a real contender here...

B- 74

http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6366/thesteamroller.jpg

The Steamroller cuts promo about his loss at Psyclone to Sharky George. Steamroller is understandably 'annoyed' at Sharky using his personal parts as batting practise and demands a rematch with the Aussie at Out of Control. And this onw won't just be a hardcore match - this will be a barbed wire ropes and weapons match. And the loser must leave HIW.

C- 56

Danny Patterson vs. The Steamroller

http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/3972/dannypattersonalt2.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img411/3895/28796049.jpghttp://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6366/thesteamroller.jpg

Seriously how does a poor ring hold up to two men like this in it? The HIW ring isnt the best quality and it audibly creaks as the two big guys try and lift each other off the ground. Thankfully it doesnt last long and the short, brutal, violent match is decided when The Steamroller manages to reverse a huge Powerbomb attempt into sitting on Danny's chest for the pin.

Annoyingly this could have been a better match, but both guys turn up drunk. How much booze would that take? I'm surprised there was enough in Aston University!

Winner: The Steamroller

D 46

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6013/sharkygeorge.jpg

Sharky George comes to the ring to respond to the Steamroller. Sharky says he isn't interested in any sort of outdated English morality. The world has changed and as an Australian he is interested in one thing - winning. And he doesn't care what he has to do to get the victory. Sharky agrees to The Steamrollers double-or-quits challenge to a win-or-leave-HIW death match at Out of Control... But he doesnt look confident. Could this be more than the Aussie can handle?

C- 55

Sharky George vs. Geordie Jimmy Morris

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6013/sharkygeorge.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img411/3895/28796049.jpghttp://img69.imageshack.us/img69/8616/geordiejimmymorris2.jpg

These two have some history with cutting each other up, but Sharky doesnt seem quite as confident as he normally does and to be honest Geordie Jimmy is the stronger-looking fighter.

Until Sharky resorts to his current favourite tactic and pulls out his trusty cricket bat before hitting a 'googly' that puts Jimmy down for the count.

Winner: Sharky George

Rolling Johnny Stones and his band The Richmond Mafia performa song. The subject appears to be how weak, small and pathetic Joey Beauchamp is and how badly Stones is going to beat him up before taking his title. But it's hard to make the words out above the boos.

C 64

http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2596/joeybeauchamp.jpg

Joey "The Breeze" Beauchamp responds from the ring to Rolling Johnny Stones taunts. Joey seems pretty confident as always even though this will be the biggest one-on-one match he has faced in weeks. Joey claims that after beating Johnny in tag-action last week he has his number.

C 63

Joey Beauchamp vs. Rolling Johnny Stones for the HIW UK title

http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2596/joeybeauchamp.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img411/3895/28796049.jpghttp://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8650/johnnystones.jpg

The Breeze may be confident but it's probably misplaced as Johnny is in fact a hugely dangerous opponenent and of course a 2-time champ himself. This match involves Joey trying to keep his distrance not just from Stones but also Danny Patterson who is on Stones' corner and clearly waiting to pounce.

The champ does a good job and he's clearly practised at thois sort of tactic but Johnny is a smart guy and goads Johnny into one too many aerial challenges before a clever feigned fall and quick roll leave Joey flat on his back in agony.

Enter Danny Patterson and the two men give Joey a swift kicking before Johnny pins Joey 1 2 3!

But Joey had managed to get his foot onto the ropes and the match continues. Byt his time Joey's partner Fred had entered the arena to provide support and Johnny's big chance was gone. The match continued in a close, more orthodox fashion, but Joey hit his missile dropkick from the turnbuckle to secure the win.

Winner: Joey Beauchamp

Pitbull Brown is one of Rolling Johnny Stones' bandmembers. Has Stones got a plan up his sleeve? Pitbull is a flat-out brawler where Joey is a flier. Can ne sneak a result? Will anyone else be involved?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Victor Hugo (Victor Rodriguez & Hugo Lopes) © vs. Rolling Johnny Stones & Danny Patterson for the HIW tag titles</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Another rematch. Last time out Sharky beat Steamroller in hardcore style with his cricketbat but Steamroller has suggested a terrifying deathmatch and Sharky isnt used to that. The loser will leave HIW so the pressure must weigh heavily on the Aussie as well as the ex-con.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Adam Matravers vs. Petey Barnes - Velocity League</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Final match in the group. If Petey wins all 3 men (Jay B) will be tied on 3 pts. That would lead to a 3-man triple-threat playoff. Adam and Petey are of course both Youth Exploion members and sometime partners so will one man lay down for the other?</p><p> </p><p>

Friday Week 4 August 2002

Attendance: 1,000

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8106/thefearsomebunsen.jpg

The Fearsome Bunsen introduces the show from the ring. He pulls out a big green smoke explosion and frazzles himself thoroughly. He confirms that Youth Explosion (Ricky and Leigh) have been given a handicap match due to behind-the-scenes rule infringements. They'll be facing the big East German wrecker Dolf Kernen, 'Captain Wrestling' Jon Harrow and the Gateshead Gatecrasher "Geordie" Jimmy Morris.

Rolling Johnny Stones (accompanied by Danny Patterson) tells the HIW fans that it's a travesty a foreigner can win a title at all in HIW. Let alone a dirty Gypsy like Victor. Johnny claims Danny Patterson is the most unstoppable man in Britain and the duo can overpower Victor Hugo to rightly claim back what was stolen from them.

Danny isnt allowed to do too much wrestling hre but he sure looks big and scary whilst Johnny fights for his life against a supremely confident Victor. Its not enough though and clearly Victor Hugo's gypsy charm is working amazingly well as the Iberian duo manage to hit their Paella Surprise on Danny. No mean feat on a man this size.

Winners: Victor Hugo

Victor grabs a microphone after the match and tells the world again that he is confident of victory over anyone. Victor knows that Youth Explosion are gunning for their tag titles and he has agreed to fight them in a fortnight at Show Me Magic... If they can win their handicap match tonight which Victor may have had some influence on setting up. Amazing what Gypsy gold can do eh?

This is great stuff as Sergei uses his exciting style to complement Frank's raw athleticism nicely. The crowd love skinny guys smashign each other up and this will do nicely.

It's settled when Sergei feigns serious injury. When Frank goes to help him Sergei hits a sneaky low blow and then springs up to hit his Eastern Block.

Darren White talks to the crowd. He's furious that he was 'cheated' out of a semifinal spot (Sergei's win here knocked him out) but he has an announcement to make that means he will get another shot at the Velocity belt. As of tonight he and Francis O'Brien have a little more power in HIW.

As they have joined Leo Price's Foundation. With some backing the group can seriously start looking at the bigger picture so fans should get used to hearing their name.

The two sometime-partners shake hands before the match but then proceed to go all out against each other fighting very fairly. They could easily have fixed this match so it's an honourable way to behave.

Unfortunately for Petey honourable may mean stupid as Adam is clearly the top man and he takes the younger man apart before hitting his feared Mile-High Moonsault.

Leigh Burton and Ricky Storm join Adam and Petey after the match to congratulate them on their battle and Adam specifically for making the semifinals. Ricky and Leigh arent happy that Victor Hugo have been interfering in their business bu they are still confiodent of a golden future for Youth Explosion. Leigh promises to beat the 3-man posse tonight and then to take the tiles at Show Me Magic.

This is a rearguard action the whole way as sheer weight of numbers would be enough to overwhelm the Youth Explosion boys let alone a hardcore warrior like Jimmy Morris. Ricky is busetd open pretty soon and after that it's a procession for the 3-man team.

Until Leigh is brought in on a hot tag and clears Harrow and Kernen from the ring before unleashing his fury on Jimmy Morris who - faced with no backup and a furious Leigh - resorts to his first love and grabs a chair.

Jimmy promptly connects with Leigh's forehead and starts to celebrate only to hear the bell as he is DQ'ed by the ref.

http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6366/thesteamroller.jpg

The Steamroller cuts a promo slating Sharky George's dirty tactics of cricket-bat genital shots. Steamroller claims that even in prison noone would stoop that low and so he can't wait to slash Sharky open on the barbed wire ropes and have him ejected from HIW.

Sharky George vs. The Steamroller - barbed wire rope deathmatch. Loser leaves HIW

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6013/sharkygeorge.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img411/3895/28796049.jpghttp://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6366/thesteamroller.jpg

This is superbloody and nasty as both men are quickly cut bad on the wire ropes but neither man is a shrinking violet and the match actually gets worse with weapons (cricket-bat and bricks) introduced.

However, one man is clearly on top and that's Sharky George. The Aussie has been nervous about this type of match but seems pretty confidetyn when he winds up to deliver his bat-shot between Steamrollers leags.

CLANG!

The unmissable sound on willow on metal. Steamroller it appears has worn a steel chastity belt to protect himself. After that the big ex-con storms back into the match and at one point hits Sharky on either side of his head with two bricks. Which appears to get the Aussie back into the grrove. Sharky then puts Steamroller in a nasty choke-hold involving the barbed wire ropes before hitting his Shark Attack to finish the match.

Winner: Sharky George

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6013/sharkygeorge.jpg

An exhausted and bloody Sharky immediately grabs a mic and staggers round the ring screaming at his victim. The Steamroller is sacked from HIW. And after 'mailing in' his last performance he's lucky he went out this easy.

Joey "The Breeze" Beauchamp comes out for his match with his UK title. Joey tells everyone he's aware that Sharky is eligible again for another shot at the title from a fortnight's time and as a fighting champ and an honourbale man, if he still holds the belt Sharky will get his match. But he isn't underestimating Pitbull Brown - the man who NEVER gices up tonight.

Enjoyable stuff as Joey uses all of his speed and athleticism to keep away from Pitbull and his grappling techniques. Pitbull really lets Joey show off his great flair and high-risk attacks whilst still looking exceedingly dangerous and showcasing his beautiful array of punches.

However as the match proceeds, it becomes clearer that Pitbull isn't quite up the job on his own and signals to the backstage area where who else should appear but Pitbull's partner The Damned who promptly storms the ring to level Joey with a chair...

...only to have a total FAIL moment, and when Joey ducks The Damned knicks Pitbull the hell out allowing Joey to quickly level The Damned with a chin-kick and seal the win with a quick pin.

The Aussie clearly hasnt had any medical attention yet and is pale and unsteady but is tough enough to tell Joey that what happened to Steamroller was just a taster. Of what he's going to do to Joey in 2 weeks after waiting for 6 long months to have another shot at getting his title back.

Well just Zergon around to guess at my scribblings but man you were pretty awesome!

5/6 and the only wrong one was the match I advertised incorreclty. I am a big dork so lets call that 6/6.

That puts you on 25/30 so it turns out Im rather predictable as well as you being a genius.

I'm still absolutely loving this game so it wont be going away any tme soon even if I have been posting unpredictably. Just a very busy time for me so my schedule is pretty erratic.

Anyway - thanks for reading this to anybody who has been - I hope my enjoyment is coming across.

Next time from HIW:

Show me magic

http://a.imageshack.us/img706/1218/hiwshowmemagic.jpg

Joey Beauchamp vs. Sharky George for the HIW UK title

Sharky has been banned from a title shot for 6 months but is desperate to win the strap back. Meanwhile Joey has been a great champ and defeated all-comers in singles action

Victor Hugo vs. Youth Explosion vs. The Foundation for the HIW tag titles

The tag champs through Victor Rodriguez have guaranteed they will win. Youth Explosion have been banging on about winning gold for weeks. The Foundation are quietly one of the hottest teams in the company with Leo on fire.

Fred Murray vs. Pitbull Brown

Fred is talented but flighty. Pitbull is tough as nails but not flashy. Big clash coming

Leon Harrison vs. Adam Matravers - velocity SF 1

Leon is the current champ. Adam and Youth Explosion are desperate for gold.

Sergei Kalashnov vs. The Red Dragon - velocity SF 1

Sergei has come closest to taking Leon's title but the Dragon is looking angrier than ever...

SuperFalcon vs. Ruud van Anger vs. Darren White vs. Jay B vs. Petey Barnes vs. Arjen van der Bilt - Velocity runners up match

Who will win the chance to come through the repechage and challenge again for the V-strap? Your guess is as good as mine.

Joey Beauchamp vs. Sharky George

Victor Hugo vs. Youth Explosion vs. The Foundation

Fred Murray vs. Pitbull Brown

Leon Harrison vs. Adam Matravers

Sergei Kalashnov vs. The Red Dragon

SuperFalcon vs. Ruud van Anger vs. Darren White vs. Jay B vs. Petey Barnes vs. Arjen van der Bilt

Joey Beauchamp vs. Sharky George

So it is a title match, I still go with Sharky though, I think it´s time for change

Victor Hugo vs. Youth Explosionvs. The Foundation

Too early to change the champs here

Fred Murray vs. Pitbull Brown

Murray is one of your top guys, Pitbull is decent but he´s just a hencman

Leon Harrison vs. Adam Matravers

This one is hard. Both would be good options as champs but since Harrison is the current champ I go with change so Matravers take this one.

Sergei Kalashnov vs. The Red Dragon

I´m actually little surprised that Dragon got this far since he haven´t done anything before this tournament but as much as I like him I doubt his changes here agains Kalashnov

SuperFalcon vs. Ruud van Anger vs. Darren White vs. Jay B vs. Petey Barnes vs. Arjen van der Bilt

White seems to be the guy who is getting a push right now so he´s logical choice here

Joey Beauchamp vs. Sharky George

non-title, so Sharky wins in order to get a title shot.

Victor Hugo vs. Youth Explosion vs. The Foundation

Same here, non-title so challengers takes the win

My bad Zergon. I made it look like both titles werent on the line but of course in a piddly little company like mine they always are!

Friday Week 2 September 2002

Attendance: 1,000

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8106/thefearsomebunsen.jpg

The Fearsome Bunsen introduces the show. He confirms that the rumours are true. With Sharky George now eligible again for a title shot, Joey Beauchamp has agreed to put the belt on the line in a one-on-one match tonight.

Bunsen also confirms that the tag belts will be on the line in a match between current champs Victor Hugo and ****y challengers Youth Explosion.

Leon Harrison vs. Adam Matravers – Velocity League Semi Final 1

Leon is convinced that he is the better man as he of course holds the belt, but Adam is a member of Youth Explosion and they're ****y sumzbitches.

Both men keep trying to outdo each other with more outrageous attacking moves, but in the end it's the underdog who pulls out the win as Adam hits his Mile High Moonsault and makes the cover.

Winner: Adam Matravers

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8106/thefearsomebunsen.jpg

After the first semifinal The Fearsome Bunsen expresses surprise at the underdog Matravers winning and hypes the fact that anyone can win the 2nd match. Few fans thought The Red Dragon could get this far but anything's possible in this hugely competitive division at HIW.

C+ 66

Sergei Kalashnov vs. The Red Dragon – Velocity League Semi Final 2

http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/6474/sergeikalashnovalt4.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img411/3895/28796049.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img709/4193/reddragonself3.jpg

Again both little guys show off some great skills and this is probably the best Velocity match we've ever seen at HIW. Sergei has a reputation as one of the flashiest, most expressive guys in the ring even if he doesnt always get the result and tonight is no exception as Dragon's great ringcraft gives him freedom of expression.

Sergei is looking the stronger but he makes one mistakje too many in botching a catapult DDT attempt on a Dragon feigning injury. In a match like this it only takes a moment to lose balance and momentum and The Red Dragon rolls up Sergei for another surprise win.

Winner: The Red Dragon

Leo Price and his newly expanded Foundation (Stevie Stoat, Jay B, Darren White & Francis O'Brien)come to the ring and their new mouthpiece Darren White takes the mic. Darren hypes the group as a pure-wrestling group with only serious aims and a burning desire to wn. of cours the crowd know that although they're good, it's by dint of Leo Price and his megabucks bankrolling the best trainers and facilities money can buy.

Darren claims that Leo and Stoat have come to an understanding with The Fearsome Bunsen and will now have the opportunity to win the tag belts tonight. Also Darren and Jay promise to make an assault on the Velocity belt after being criminally overlooked for the semifinals.

This is a mess, but in a good way as 6 chaps throw a whole heap of action into a short amount of time. This is a single fall match (ie no elimination) so we see a very large number of near-falls broken up.

The two Dutch boys Ruud and Arjen look strong but don't seem to be working together whilst SuperFalcon is (as usual) flashy but ineffective.

However the Foundation duo of Jay B and Darren White are clearly working together and manage to dominate the match before Darren manages to pin Petey Barnes after a blatant double-team.

Winner: Darren White

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9711/fredmurray.jpg

Fred Murray cuts a promo that focuses on his gambling addiction/hobby. Again he seems disappointed at being in The Breeze's shadow, but also is genuinely enthusiatic about Joey's chances of retaining the UK title tonight. Fred announces he will be fighting more in the future as he works hgarder to establish his own claim to glory.

Fred is on fire here and fgull of energy against one of the more stoic members of the HIW roster. As usual the Irishman is a real livewire and takes chances on high-risk, high-impact moves. Which Pitbull basically shrugs off. Bizarrely, Fred tries a few times to lock submission moves onto Pitbull (The Man Who Never Gives Up) but predictably the Englishman grits his teeth and breaks out of them.

Unfortunately resistance is only so good and Fred finally manages to hit a devestating Termination Slam to win the match.

Winner: Fred Murray

Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton, Ricky Storm, Adam Matravers & Petey Barnes) come to the ring to talk to the crowd. They again claim they are breakout stars waiting to happen and have a destiny to win titles in HIW. Adam is one win from the Velocity title and Leigh and Ricky now have the opportunity to take tag gold again. The news that The Foundation have bought their way into this match is of no matter as Leigh and Ricky can beat anyone.

http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1802/victorrodriguez.jpghttp://img6.imageshack.us/img6/7886/hugolopes.jpg

Victor Rodriguez (with his partner Hugo Lopes) responds to the young men with the familiar story: his mystic Gypsy grandmother has told Victor that Victory awaits him in his future and he cannot be denied. Attempting to win his title is futile as long as the spirits back him. And Leo and Stevie getting involved? Even more futile. Money cannot have a chance of beating the spirits.

C 60

Victor Hugo © vs. Youth Explosion vs. The Foundation for the HIW tag titles

http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1802/victorrodriguez.jpghttp://img6.imageshack.us/img6/7886/hugolopes.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img411/3895/28796049.jpghttp://img9.imageshack.us/img9/3493/leighburton.jpghttp://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1640/rickystorm.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img411/3895/28796049.jpghttp://img4.imageshack.us/img4/8251/leoprice.jpghttp://img820.imageshack.us/img820/8900/steviestoat.jpg

This was always going to be intriguing and it let noone down with all 6 men getting a great share of the action. Victor was probably the strongest individual, but Leo also had his moments with his outstandingly smooth style looking great. However the Youth Explosion boys will generally disrupt any match and this one was truly open.

In the end it was a matter of who could work better as a team and there was really only one answer there. Victor Hugo set Stevie Stoat up for the Paella surprise and then...

...wham! A sneaky catapult move from Youth Explosion sent Hugo Lopes (the legal man) flying into a ringpost and enabled Leigh to sneak a pin on Stoat for a surprise win.

Winner: Youth Explosion win the HIW tag titles

C 62

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6013/sharkygeorge.jpg

Sharky George talks to the crowd ahead of his title match with Joey. Understandably after 6 months of being unable to challenge for a belt he sees as his and being restricted to battling The Steamroller for hardcore supremacy. Sharky is genuinely menacing as he tells the crowd exactly what he would do to secure victory. This is the crowd who have seen him bleed copiously and hit men in the balls with a cricket bat so they know he means it.

C- 55

http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2596/joeybeauchamp.jpg

Joey also eneters the ring and responds to Sharky. The Breeze tells everyone that he has been the greatest HIW champion ever during a period of record growth and he can certainly take care of one Aussie macontent whom he has beaten before. The crowd are firmly on Joey's side and although he is by far the smaller man, the Englishman (who is much closer to the ideal athletic, fast, daring HIW type) clearly has the best wishes of everyone in the building.

C+ 66

Joey Beauchamp vs. Sharky George for the HIW UK title

We've seen these guys go at each other before, but never quite with this intensity and level of skill. Sharky is more brutal and powerful, but Joey has great speed around the ring and knows how to fight a bigger man.

Sharky is watched very closely by the ref and so doesn't get the opportunity to resort to his favoured tactic of weapons, but equally this means Joey is confined to the ring rather than using the whole arena.

Of course the balance cant last and the real moment comes when Joey takes to the air from the turnbuckles and accidentally catches the referee with a stray elbow. It only sends him down groggy for a moment but that's long enough for Sharky to grab his trusty bat from beneath the ring and give Joey a quick club in the head. By that time the ref is back up but only in time to tap 1-2-3 for a huge win for Sharky.

Winner: Sharky George wins the HIW UK title

  • 5 months later...

Hello hello hello. Remember me?

I've basically not touched TEW since 2010 due to personal circumstances, crazy work and other games but Ive got a bit of time and seeing as Im not playing at a fast pace I thought Id try and resurrect my little diary/game as a slow project. Who knows whether that will work or not but I do love this particular game.

Ill be picking up where I got to in my game which is quite a bit further along that this...

As per before Im using a pretty customised version of the 97 c-verse with a fair few generated characters and a few brought forwards in time so apologies for any confusion.

Its the start of December 2004 and things are different in HIW.

We're running 3 shows a month and we're a fair bit bigger.

Champions:

HIW UK title UK Dragon

HIW Tag titles Eastern Bloc (Sergei Kalashnov & Dolf Kernen)

HIW Velocity title Dark Falcon

HIW Deathproof Bedlam

http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/3596/hiwfullforce.jpg

UK Dragon vs. Sharky George vs. Joey Beauchamp vs. Bedlam

Dragon and Joey face off at the end of the month for the title. Bedlam and Sharky also battle for the death-proof belt. What will happen when all four men come together?

Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton & Ricky Storm) vs. Mystery (English Avenger & Scottish Elemental)

Youth Explosion have been pushing hard to get their tag belts back. Mystery are conundrums. Who is it beneath those masks?

Eastern Bloc (Sergei Kalashnov & Dolf Kernen) vs. Double Dutch (Frank de Pain & Die Oranje)

The young Dutch have struggled without Ruud van Anger recently but can always spring a surprise. Can they beat the chamnps?

Jerome Lane, Blake Belushi & Rick Stantz vs Jay B, Francis O'Brien & Darren White

The 3 Australians are clearly very talented but Jay and his fellow shortcuts will resort to any measures to win.

Dark Falcon © vs. Petey Barnes for the HIW Velocity Title

Falcon is the champ but lots of people want his belt. Can he continue to hold on?

Rolling Johnny Stones & Pitbull Brown vs. Einar Karlsen & Danny Appleseed

RJS and Pitbull are old allies but uneasy these days. Can their issues allow the young underdogs to snatch an upset?

Nice to see this one back again.:)

UK Dragon vs. Sharky George vs. Joey Beauchamp vs. Bedlam

Nice to see UK Dragon as a champ. Anyway Joey is number one contender for Dragon´s title so I assume that he picks the win over champ here.

Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton & Ricky Storm) vs. Mystery (English Avenger & Scottish Elemental)

Obviously I have no idea who these Mystery guys are but I know you like both members of Youth Explosion

Eastern Bloc (Sergei Kalshnov & Dolf Kernen) vs. Double Dutch (Frank de Pain & Die Oranje)

This one depends, really. If Double Dutch are contenders or at least close then they could win but honestly I doubt it so I go with champs.

Jerome Lane, Blake Belushi & Rick Stantsz vs Jay B, Francis O'Brien & Darren White

Not sure how over the Blondes currently are in UK so I´m taking the safer choice.

Dark Falcon © vs. Petey Barnes for the HIW Velocity Title

Hopefully Falcon will retain here.

Rolling Johnny Stones & Pitbull Brown vs. Einar Karlsen & Danny Appleseed

Not sure if RJS & Brown´s opponents are over/skilled enough to go over here so I´m taking the safer choice again.

Full Force

Friday week 1 December 2004

Attendance: 1,758

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8106/thefearsomebunsen.jpg

The Fearsome Bunsen introduces tonight’s show from the centre of the ring. He is especially excited with lots of green smoke and loud bangs.

He hypes the headline match between Sharky, Joey, Bedlam and UK Dragon most of all.

(C+ 70)

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8106/thefearsomebunsen.jpghttp://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8650/johnnystones.jpghttp://img810.imageshack.us/img810/1876/pitbullbrownalt2.jpg

Bunsen then interviews Rolling Johnny Stones and Pitbull Brown ahead of their match. RJS is as usual a bizarre mix of Mick Jagger’s ego and Prince Harry’s obnoxious sense of entitlement. Pitbull is earnest but makes it very clear he is a serious solo competitor and not a spare part any more.

(C 64)

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

Rolling Johnny Stones & Pitbull Brown vs. Einar Karlsen & Danny Appleseed

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8650/johnnystones.jpghttp://img810.imageshack.us/img810/1876/pitbullbrownalt2.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img411/3895/28796049.jpghttp://img257.imageshack.us/img257/373/einarkarlsen.jpghttp://img263.imageshack.us/img263/2305/danielfrancisalt.jpg

This match should be very one-sided with two experienced and decorated campaigners facing a pair of young workers with no experience together.

However Stones and Pitbull have history and neither exactly plays well with others. This means that both men are reluctant to help each other and against Einar the Scandinavian eccentric and Danny the South London yardy (both of whom are exceptional athletes) there’s no room for errors.

Einar actually looks like pinning Johnny until a very late and reluctant breakup from Pitbull swings momentum as the Man who Never Gives Up imposes himself physically. It’s still not easy but Pitbull manages to put Danny down with a Doghouse Piledriver shortly after.

Winner: Pitbull Brown pinned Danny Appleseed after a Doghouse Piledriver

(C 59)

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8106/thefearsomebunsen.jpghttp://img806.imageshack.us/img806/1165/phoebeplumridge.jpghttp://img219.imageshack.us/img219/1359/peteybarneshiw.jpg

The Fearsome Bunsen interviews Phoebe Plumridge ahead of her client Petey Barnes’ challenge for Dark Falcon’s Velocity title. Phoebe comes across as humble but excited for the chance to win gold with Petey.

(C+ 66)

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

Dark Falcon vs. Petey Barnes for the HIW Velocity title

http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/6632/darkfalcon.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img411/3895/28796049.jpghttp://img219.imageshack.us/img219/1359/peteybarneshiw.jpg

Dark Falcon has been a bit of a break-out star recently with his Dark Superhero persona and the HIW fans always like skinny chaps hurtling around the ring.

This match is right up their alley as both masked men take insane risks looking for a knockout blow rather than settle for victory by attrition. We see Falcon attempt a 540 degree splash and Barnes go for a huge superplex and the crowd lap it up.

However the real moment of truth comes from outside the ring. Phoebe Plumridge (Petey Barnes manager) is seized from behind by Ricky Storm and Petey of course is forced to help. Which gives Dark Falcon the opening he needs to cradle Barnes for a flash pin.

Winner: Dark Falcon retains by pinning Petey Barnes

(C- 58)

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/3493/leighburton.jpghttp://img27.imageshack.us/img27/1640/rickystorm.jpghttp://img191.imageshack.us/img191/3743/bethanyhurstalt2.jpghttp://img46.imageshack.us/img46/5420/sergeikalashnovalt.jpghttp://img97.imageshack.us/img97/1475/dolfkernen.jpg

Ricky Storm celebrates after the match by laughing at the stricken Petey Barnes. As he cruelly enjoys Barnes’ loss he’s jumped out of nowhere by the current tag champs Eastern Bloc (Sergei Kalashnov & Dolf Kernen) who leave him battered and down before running away.

It turns out that in HIW there’s always a bigger fish.

(D 46)

The Fearsome Bunsen interviews Jerome Lane and his fellow Aussies the Melbourne Blondes (Blake Belushi & Rick Stantz).

Jerome focuses on how much Sharky George has helped them establish themselves in HIW and that all three of them see Aussie domination ahead of the UK wrestling scene. The Blondes basically just pose in the background and show off their terrifyingly deep tans.

Jerome slates tonight’s opponents the Shortcuts as dirty cheats and claims they have no place in the ring of they don’t know how to have a fair fight.

(C+ 68)

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7529/hiwf.jpg

Jerome Lane and the Melbourne Blondes (Blake Belushi & Rick Stantz) vs. The Shortcuts (Darren White, Francis O’Brien and Jay B)

http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/7456/sp64.jpghttp://img825.imageshack.us/img825/562/rickstantz.jpghttp://img534.imageshack.us/img534/6572/blakebelushi.jpghttp://a.imageshack.us/img411/3895/28796049.jpghttp://img4.imageshack.us/img4/5797/darrenwhite2.jpghttp://img704.imageshack.us/img704/5809/brien.jpghttp://img692.imageshack.us/img692/4156/jaybr.jpg

As expected this match is a cat-and-mouse affair with the muscled and confident Australians trying desperately to force the sneaky Shortcuts to stand and fight. Of course they have no intention of doing so and continually tag each other in and out causing confusion as to who the legal man is.

Jerome and the Blondes are legitimately tough but none of them is the brightest spark so they have a very hard job directing their ample aggression.

Unfortunately if it goes on long enough the cat normally wins and here Jerome manages to finally get lucky and seize Francis O’Brien. He’s easily the least accomplished of the Shortcuts and not even desperate ref tactics can save him from being pinned.

Winners: Jerome Lane pinned Francis O’Brien

http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/5420/sergeikalashnovalt.jpghttp://img97.imageshack.us/img97/1475/dolfkernen.jpg

Sergei Kalashnov and his Eastern Bloc partner Dolf Kernen perform a bizarre rap/power-ballad where they bang on about how great champions they are and how badly they kicked the ass of Ricky Storm earlier in the night.

(C+ 67)

Eastern Bloc (Sergei Kalashnov & Dolf Kernen) vs. Double Dutch (Ruud van Anger & Die Oranje Dieren) (non-title match)

This is about as HIW as it gets. A combination of small, wiry Europeans engage in organised chaos whilst putting their own safety at serious risk.

Sergei is the most recognised man here and Ruud van Anger seems lost without his normal partner Frank de Pain (who is injured). Die Oranje Dieren is a talented athlete if a very bizarre man but the timing isn’t there.

In contrast the champs are in imperious form blending Sergei’s agility and daring with Dolf’s sheer power. They end up seizing on an unexpected tag to hit their patented Iron Curtain move which allows Sergei to pin Die Oranje Dieren.

Winners: Sergei Kalashnov pins Die Oranje Dieren.

Bethany comes to the ring with her clients Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton & Ricky Storm). She is disparaging about Eastern Bloc’s unconvincing match tonight, angry about their attack on Ricky Storm and again demands a title shot at No Sympathy. Eastern Bloc appear confident and agree to the match.

Youth Explosion (Leigh Burton & Ricky Storm) vs. Mystery (Scottish Elemental & English Avenger)

The Youth Explosion boys are clearly fired up now they have a title match in the bank and come out all guns blazing against the masked Mystery men. Unfortunately for them Ricky is clearly not at 100% yet and it’s not for nothing Mystery are getting a reputation as up-and-comers.

After the opening salvos Mystery actually look the stronger team as Scottish Elemental in particular builds up a head of steam.

However Leigh Burton is one of HIWs very brightest stars and stamps his own authority on the match with a series of lightning-fast transitions and throws that gains him enough time to take control back.

After that it’s just a case of taking opportunities they do so when a pose from their manager Bethany leads to the referee missing a particularly blatant double team before Leigh wraps up the Avenger.

Winners: Leigh Burton pinned English Avenger after an Evolution catapult

Joey Beauchamp comes out and seizes a microphone. He is very calm and collected but leaves everyone in no doubt he is supremely focused on regaining the UK title from UK Dragon at No Sympathy.

The UK Dragon also enters the ring to respond. As always he plays the underdog card and recounts how he has stood up to bigger challenges (notably when he defeated the seemingly unstoppable Dark Angel for the belt in the first place).

UK Dragon vs. Joey Beauchamp vs. Sharky George vs. Bedlam

It’s normally only once a year at The Undefeated that 4 or more of HIW’s top stars all go head to head and so this is a cagey match. The two pairs men that have title matches at No Sympathy (Bedlam/Sharky and UK Dragon/Joey) pair off and so there’s always something to grip the crowd throughout the match as everyone struggles for supremacy.

However with little space available and always the threat of attacks from behind no one can quite gain enough momentum to go for a victory.

That is until of course Bedlam takes matters into his own hand by grabbing a chair from ringside.

It’s at that point the other 3 men forget their problems and band together to face the huge Welsh monster with the steel furniture.

Bedlam however is absolutely wild with rage (pretty much normal for him) and gets a few good blows in before The Fearsome Bunsen and 15 security guards storm the ring and smother Bedlam.

Winner: 3-way draw after Bedlam was DQed

(C 63)

http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/5458/dread3.jpg

After the match security separate all the participants but Bedlam somehow gets away from the pile of men and manages to get to UK Dragon. The big Welshman only gets one attack in but still slams The Dragon square in the face. The slightly-built champion collapses spark out and Bedlam laughs as he’s dragged away.

I'd totally forgotten how much I enjoyed this game!

Thanks anyone for reading and especially 20Legend and Zergon for the welcome back.

20Legend 4/6

Zergon 4/6

You both had Joey winning the 4way (which was a copout way of getting everyone some ringtime before titles time) and The Shortcuts beating the Aussies.

Jay B and Darren White of the Shortcuts are medium over but Jerome is a future star and the Blondes have consistently produced better grades than expected.

Apologies to anyone whose pictures I've murdered (I didnt feel so bad on my own laptop but heres different) and especially whoever did the Dread that I've been using for Bedlam.

Next time from HIW:

HIW On Tour

UK Dragon vs Sergei Kalashnov for the HIW UK Title

The Dragon get absolutely walloped by Bedlam last show. Will he be fit? Sergei has long been one of the most exciting HIW workers. Can he take his opportunity?

Sharky George vs Darren White

Sharky is getting ready for his match with Bedlam for the Deathproof title. Will Darren know what hit him? Will the uncontrollable Bedlam make an appearance?

The Hustlers (Joey Beauchamp & Fred Murray) vs. The Nadir (Ony Svoboda & Ioakim Nikolic)

Joey is preparing for his title match with a warmup against the young Russians from the Steppes. Will Fred be on board with Joey's ambitions?

Rolling Johnny Stones vs. Jerome Lane

RJS has been stalled a little lately. Can he start a new push against the talented young Australian? Will Jerome's 3 fellow Australians allow him to be steamrollered?

Dark Angel vs. Emerald Angel for the HIW Velocity title

Since when did HIW get religious? Can the champ maintain his focus against the talented rookie? Will the hordes of challengers finally get too much?

TNG (Adam Matravers & Petey Branes) vs. Red and Jed (Red Dragon & Jed High)

TNG have huge chips on your shoulder and wont enjoy old friends/hated enemies Youth Explosion getting a tag title shot. Can they prove their worth against the deluded Welsh/Sith lord team of Red and Jed?

UK Dragon vs Sergei Kalashnov

Sharky George vs Darren White

UK Dragon vs Sergei Kalashnov

Dragon has a date with Joe so I doubt he loses his title before that match.

Sharky George vs Darren White

Sharky was a big name earlier so I expect him to still be at least semi-over while if I remember right White was more of a jobber.

The Hustlers vs. The Nadir

Another duo who had big roles earlier and at least Joe still seems to be main eventer so I go with them over pair that I don´t know anything about.

Rolling Johnny Stones vs. Jerome Lane

You said that RJS has stalled a little and that Lane is future star so I see Lane getting a big win here.

Dark Angel vs. Emerald Angel

I doubt that rookie will get the title so champ retains.

TNG vs. Red and Jed

Based on your write up it looks like TNG are stronger team but I just can´t go against Red Dragon and Jed here.

Thanks again then. Its one of my favourite alts ever and as theres no way Im ever going to employ Dread it deserves to be seen.

That pic for me is a great example of how menace can be acheived without a guy being tall and/or heavy.

Similar to the way The Damned is described in his biog

Who is...

The Aussie Invasion are a loose group of Australians who are led by one of HIWs top stars. They're particularly unfocused as a group but should they ever get organised and dedicated could be a huge threat to any other faction in the company.

Sharky George

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6013/sharkygeorge.jpg

"Who the f**k am I? Strewth mate you've got a nerve! If you whinging Poms dont know by now you dont need to know. It's typical of this bloody rock in the ocean. Nobody shows any manners or acts like a gentleman. Back home in Wollogooma when someone wants to say hello they'll bloody well come and do it. Over here they'll bitch about you on a blog. A blog fer Chrissakes!

"You'd better ask that flamin' galah Bedlam who I am. As otherwise he's in for a hell of a shock at No Sympathy when I take the Deathproof title off him. I've proved before I can go hardcore with anyone in this country and I'll do it again in 2 weeks time."

Sharky has now worked for HIW for almost 6 years and has appeared in 127 matches. He's been HIW Champion for almost 3 of those years (in 3 seperate reigns) and was once tag champ with Harry Simonsen. He triumphed at The Undefeated in 2004 for the first time. He has a reputation as a brawler in contrast to the many high-flying types around which makes him a different sort of threat.

Jerome Lane

http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/7456/sp64.jpg

"This weather is the problem you know. When I was in the Australian SAS we used to run 30 miles in the blazing hot desert every day before breakfast. We'd live only off Scorpions and raw 'roo for weeks at a time. Over here blokes are wrapped up at home playing video games. And who is the tougher bunch eh?"

Jerome (or Joz as he's sometimes known) has now been at HIW for slightly over a year and has appeared in 36 matches (winning 21 of them). As an ex-military man he's very big on conditioning and not afraid to tell anyone about it.

The Melbourne Blondes (Blake Belushi & Rick Stantz)

http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/562/rickstantz.jpghttp://img534.imageshack.us/img534/6572/blakebelushi.jpg

"Alright mate!"

"Howsitgoing mate?"

"You dont know us now but you will. We're the most exciting, talented and metaphysical team..."

"Metaphysical? Whats that mate?"

"Its like medical and fizzy at the same time"

"Like Alka Seltzer?"

"Yeah mate!"

"Holy goolly! We're not that good are we?"

Childhood friends The Melbourne Blondes moved to the UK when they hit 18 and immediately signed with HIW as an alternative after they were sacked from Walkabout in Warwick for being too stupid.

Amazingly they've been an instant hit as their all-action style has seen them take on some of the top established teams in HIW. It's helped that Sharky george has been firmly in their corner but even so it's been an impressive start to their wrestling careers.
