Having already upset many promoters around the US with his aggressive expansion strategy as well as monopolising the majority of wrestling talent on exclusive deals, Richard Eisen took it one stage further by officially declaring war on every American wrestling promotion.

Eisen's next move would see a new head booker brought into the SWF. Many names had been speculated upon as in the frame for the job but the man chosen would shock many people in the industry. "Cowboy” Clint Wayne had been the owner of the Texas Wrestling League, making a name as a very competent booker but the financial side caught up with him eventually. In an ironic twist, the man he replaced as SWF head booker in Rocky Streets was the one who bought him out of TWL.

Wayne's tenure as head booker began offically at the first big event of the year, SWF King Of The Squared Circle but it was clear that the roster didn't exactly roll out the red carpet for him so Wayne knew that the only way to gain their respect would be to quickly hit the ground running.

The reviews of the show came out positive with newcomer “The Chief” Chief Two Eagles winning the King Of The Squared Circle tournament, defeating Black Jack in the final and the headline match saw “Mighty” Micky Starr successfully defend the SWF World Heavyweight title against “The Greek God” Ares Aegaleus.

Wayne had passed his first test but he knew there was a long way to go before he truly had stamped his mark on the SWF.

Good luck with this. My old 75 SWF had alot of fun with. Thought about doing 77 but decided against it. But seriously, you are in a great spot, nice position, good roster, and your in a good time period where. Let your imagination run wild.

February saw an influx of new talent to the roster with no less than six new faces appearing in the SWF.

The tag division was bolstered by the signing of the young duo The Heartwrenchers and Buford T. Laramie came in to take over the role from the departing Dixie Diamond as the manager in the Ares' Titans stable.

The mysterious Papa Voodoo made his return to the SWF with him undoubtably looking to put his voodoo to dark uses.

SWF secured one of the biggest talents in wrestling today and considered by many to be a world champion of the future, Sam Strong to an exclusive deal.

The biggest signing would be someone who had made a big name in the CWF across the border in Canada, George DeColt. DeColt is equally at home in the ring or on a microphone and if booked right, could explode in popularity.

SWF Nothing To Lose was another success as Wayne looked to be getting a handle on the booking and the headline match was a repeat of last month with "Mighty" Micky Starr taking on "The Greek God" Ares Aegaleus for the SWF World Heavyweight title with Aegaleus coming up short again as Starr successfully retained.

Angus McCloud, known for liking a good brawl and saying what he thinks arrived in the SWF looking to make his mark.

Another young tag team The Party Animals were brought in to further expand the tag team division

There was also a few departures as Brick Fantana, Mano Keanu, The Night Rider and Wade Morris decided to leave and try their luck with other promotions.

Angus McCloud certainly made his mark as a winning streak through the month of March saw him face off against SWF United States champion Richie Pangrazzio Jr. and he surprised RPJ by walking away as the new champion.

The main event saw the third match for the SWF World Heavyweight title between “Mighty” Micky Starr and “The Greek God” Ares Aegaleus which was a tremendous back and forth battle. It was clear from the spectacular entrance as Starr made his way to the ring to the USA national anthem as red, white and blue ballons and streamers fell from the ceiling that the fans were in for something special. Aegaleus tried everything including blatant cheating to beat Starr but the champion once again beat the odds to retain.

Starr would thank the fans afterwards for all their support and that with them behind him, he could beat anyone. If only he knew who would step up next to give him his strongest challenge yet.

Angus McCloud continued to impress as he retained the SWF United States title against the determined former champion Richie Pangrazzio Jr.

A series of three way singles matches on the Sunday Slamfest's leading upto Wrestling Classic saw Streets Of Rage defending their titles at against both Blazin' Flames and Deadly Gamble. Both of the opposing teams thought they'd won at various stages during the match but Streets of Rage impressively retained.

George DeColt had been impressing everybody since joining the SWF but one man didn't appreciate it. “The Greek God” Ares Aegaleus gave Hagar Erikson the job of putting DeColt in his place but Aegaleus didn't count on DeColt overcoming Erikson. This further angered Aegaleus who jumped DeColt after the match, nearly tearing him in half with the Spartan Spear before locking the semi-concious DeColt in the Herculean Half Nelson.

Aegaleus boasted on the next Sunday Slamfest that he'd sent DeColt packing in an ambulance back to Canada, only to be interrupted by DeColt. This caused a brawl between them before a missed Spartan Spear by Aegaleus gave DeColt the chance to plant Aegaleus with the DeColt 45.

“Mighty” Micky Starr was attacked by a mystery masked man two weeks in a row on Sunday Slamfest. Starr said he knew that the masked man was Corporal Doom and that if Doom had any guts, he'd not hide behind a mask and stand toe to toe with him.

It all came to a head during a main event tag match on Sunday Slamfest between Starr teaming with DeColt to take on Aegaleus and Doom. DeColt and Starr would win the match but Aegaleus and Doom both made sure they won the war leading into Wrestling Classic by decimating both of them and leaving them laying in the ring.

DeColt gave Aegaleus all he had but the veteran wiles of the Greek saw him use every underhanded trick he could to grab, what was seen by many as stealing, the win from DeColt.

The main event was the match of the night as the match swung back and forth between Doom and Starr throughout with Starr having to draw on all his reserves to find a way to win and retain the title.

Corporal Doom put his hand out to Starr to shake after the match who accepted it, only for Doom to take advantange of Starr dropping his guard and nailed him with a punch to the jaw. Doom dragged Starr outside of the ring, pulled up the protective mat and smashed Starr's head into the concrete which drew a collective gasp of concern from the crowd.

Medical staff rushed to Starr's aid as Doom looked on, sadistically smiling.

Doom showed that he would stop at nothing to become the SWF World Heavyweight champion and Starr would face a massive struggle to keep hold of the title.

Corporal Doom comes down to the ring, which has been set up for a huge celebration for him becoming the SWF World Heavyweight champion. Doom shows off his new title for the crowd, clearly enjoying the moment. Doom says that he put "Mighty" Micky Starr through hell in the Boot Camp match at The World Is Watching to become the new SWF World Heavyweight champion. Doom is about to continue bragging until George DeColt comes out, clearly unimpressed. DeColt challenges Doom to a match tonight which Doom considers for a few seconds before launching himself at DeColt, looking to take DeColt's head off with his title but DeColt manages to avoid it. DeColt tries for the DeColt 45 on Doom but it's reversed into the Corporal Punishment.
