HGC: The TOTAL Makeover

Recommended Posts

It Started With A Phonecall

We are shown a large and lavish office filled with gadgets and shiny trinkets that are adorned throughout. A rather young looking male in a particularly garish suit sits at the desk positioned by the window, looking out upon a busy city. He is speaking on the phone....

Man: “No, I have made my decision and that’s final.”

(waits for the other person to finish speaking)

Man: “Because it is something I have loved since I was a small child.”

Man: "I know exactly how old I am. Don't insult my intelligance."

Man: “I don’t have to explain myself to you, you work for me remember!?”

Man: “I know that I need help on this project and I have sent out the relevant feelers.”

Man: “What do I plan to call it?”

Man: “The Hollyweird Grappling Company!”

Man: “No, I am not joking.............................”

A name plaque is now noticeable on the oak desk; it reads “J.K. Stallings Jr”.

Enticing The Old Dog

J.K: “I need help with this project. I wasn’t born yesterday; I know that without help this idea will fall flat on its face. You have all the experience in the world and are a respected wrestler on a global scale. Heck, I remember when I was 8 years old having a poster of you up on my wall. You were a large part of the reason that I fell in love with professional wrestling in the first place. What do you think about this project?”

Strong: “I think the glaring issue that needs to be addressed first of all is the name you are planning to use.”

J.K: “Hollyweird Grappling Company?”

Strong: “Exactly. You mean to tell me that after all the time you have supposedly spent thinking about starting up your own wrestling company that this was the best name you could come up with?”

J.K: “Ummmmmmmmmm.........”

Strong: “Well I think that answers my question.......you aren’t taking this seriously at all and quite frankly I am beginning to think that you are just wasting my time. You think that because you fell into some big money you can do whatever you want and screw the consequences? Well I have news for you kid; you don’t start a pro-wrestling company overnight, it takes a hell of a lot of time and effort and if I am to get involved in this I need to know what your full intentions are.

J.K: “I just want to make the world’s best wrestling company, is that too much to ask?”

Strong sat back in his chair and studied the man sitting before him. By this point he had seen it all before. An upstart guy with money to spend thinking that they will have a go at starting a wrasslin’ company only to give up when the going got rough was not uncommon. But there was something about this kid, something that told Strong he was different from the others. Maybe he was just getting senile but deep down he knew that this company, should it come to fruition, could work. There was a gap in the market after all. Behind the SWF there was no real competition to be found in the states. Japan had its merits, as did Canada, but the US market was just waiting for a company to step up to the plate and challenge the SWF for supremacy.

Strong: “What am I going to be working with......money wise?”

J.K. quickly scribbled a number down on paper before passing it to the grizzled veteran.

Strong’s eyes lit up.

Strong: “I can certainly work with that.”

The relief on J.K.’s face was evident.

Strong: “Give me a few months to get everything in place and we should be ready to roll come January (1997). Although this is only a rough estimate, things like this cannot be rushed.”

J.K: “Absolutely Mr Strong, glad to have you aboard.”

Strong made his way to exit the office before stopping at the door.

Strong: “Oh and one more thing kid.................we still need to talk about that name........”

Ready To Roll

After months of hard work and preparation things have finally fallen into place and it looks as though the HGC are ready to put on some shows. Strong, being a resourceful and determined individual has really earned his pay check with the talent he has managed to accrue. It should also be noted that Strong has put in place an experienced booking team who will oversee the running of the company. Financial backer, J.K. Stallings Jr is just that. Although he is the man who got the ball rolling, he has entrusted the longevity of his company with the people that know what they are doing; the pros.

HGC Hollyweird TV

Tuesday of Week 1, January 1997

Wisconsin Gardens (Great Lakes)

Attendance: 7,192

A nice pyrotechnics set opens up the first ever HGC Hollyweird TV show and indeed the first ever HGC show of any sort. The camera pans around the Wisconsin Gardens showing a pumped crowd screaming at the camera. Shortly afterwards we see Jason Azaria and Kyle Rhodes sitting behind the broadcast table.

Azaria: “Hello everybody and welcome to a new age in professional wrestling. We are the HGC and we will be bringing you the best action in professional wrestling today. For too long the fans of this sport have had to make do with whatever is fed to them by certain other promotions. Well no longer shall this happen. We are the alternative and tonight we begin our journey and hope that you all enjoy the ride.”

Rhodes: “You’ve got that right Azaria. We have an action packed show for you guys and girls so let’s not waste any more time and get stuck in.”

Azaria: “Our first match of the night is a three way singles match between Dark EAGLE, Charlie Thatcher and Paul Steadyfast.”

Rhodes: “This is the first ever HGC match, so the pressure is really on, but with the calibre of athletes involved I have no doubt that this will be a great fight.”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/PaulSteadyfast.jpg vs http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/CharlieThatcher2.jpg vs http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/DarkEagle.jpg

Paul Steadyfast vs Charlie Thatcher vs Dark EAGLE

A solid opening contest that saw a fair bit of action. The crowd was really against Charlie Thatcher throughout. Maybe he just has a quality about him....either that or they thought he was just awful. After Paul Steadyfast seemed to be getting the upper hand by dropping Thatcher with a slingshot suplex he was caught unawares. No sooner had Steadfast returned to his feet Dark EAGLE hit a springboard dropkick which sent Steadyfast out of the ring. Capitalising on the opportunity, EAGLE made the cover on Thatcher for the 1,2,3.

Rhodes: “Just look at the expression on Steadyfast’s face! You know he isn’t gonna be happy about this.”

Azaria: “That’s for sure. He is known for having a very bad temper when things don’t go his way.......and there he goes stomping his way backstage. I certainly wouldn’t want to be Dark EAGLE right now.”

Rhodes: “I don’t blame you.”

A camera backstage is focussed on two massive individuals with spiky hair who look extremely menacing staring back at the camera.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/DemonAnger.jpghttp://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/DemonSpite.jpg

Demon Anger: “You know something Spite!?”

Demon Spite: “What?!”

Demon Anger: “I have heard a lot of talking in the back.....people talking about who the greatest tag team in the world is when really there shouldn't be a question in anybody’s minds as to who that is.”

Demon Spite: “That’s right, you see, what Anger is saying is that we are the roughest, toughest, biggest, baddest son of a guns you will ever lay your eyes upon and it is only a matter of time before everybody in the HGC locker room and all you idiots at home realise this.”

Demon Anger: “Exactly. Tonight we take our first steps towards taking over the tag team division when we face those two illegal aliens, the Hubba Bubba flyweights or whatever they are calling themselves. Electrico, Mr Lucha, boys you are in for a world of hurt, because me and Spite don’t destroy....we decimate and right now.....you two are in our way!”

The Demons of Rage walk out of shot all the while making loud snarling noises.

Azaria: “Strong words from the Demons of Rage and you have to believe that Mucha Lucha are in for a world of trouble.”

Rhodes: “Speaking of which, that match is up next!”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/MrLuchaIII.jpghttp://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/Elctrico.jpg VS http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/DemonSpite.jpghttp://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/DemonAnger.jpg

Mucha Lucha vs The Demons of Rage

A fight which in truth didn’t resemble much of a contest saw the Demons basically beat up on their high flying opponents. After a brief spell of quick paced combos from Electrico things soon went downhill when a flying cross body attempt was caught by Spite. After a few minutes of clubbing offense, Electrico was finally put away with the Double Demon Drop, followed by the cover from Anger for the pinfall victory.

Rhodes: “The Demons of Rage sure had things right, they do decimate their opponents. I feel sorry for whoever they face next.”

Azaria: “Those two are truly scary individuals..........Anyway, up next is.......wait a minute who’s this?”

A big hulking man is making his way to the ring with a purpose.

Rhodes: “I think you will find that is Dread!”

Azaria: “It most certainly is, but what is he doing out here?”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/Dread_alt1.jpg

Dread takes a microphone before studying those in attendance with a look of disdain on his face.

Dread: “When I agreed to wrestle in HGC I was told that there would be some stiff competition, but so far all I have seen tonight is garbage!..........When I was told I was going to be participating in the tournament to crown the first HGC World Heavyweight champion, I thought to myself that I might at least get one small challenge but I think we all know that that is not going to be the case. When I win the tournament I will reign for a long, long time because there is nobody on the HGC roster that can come close to threatening me. So seeing as tonight I don’t have an opponent scheduled, I am issuing a challenge to anybody in the back to come out right now and face me in this ring. Prove to these people that I am wrong, I guarantee it is the last thing you will ever do!”

There is a long pause whilst everybody looks to the entranceway to see if anyone is willing to accept the challenge.

Dread: (laughs) “I didn’t think so. You see I.......

A man emerges at the top of the ramp; Monty Walker is staring down towards Dread. It appears as though the challenge has been accepted.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/MontyWalker.jpg

Rhodes: “Has this kid got a death wish?”

Azaria: “Monty Walker does not back down from a challenge, you have to admire that in him.”

Rhodes: “Well sure, but Dread is gonna kill him!”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/Dread_alt1.jpg VS http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/MontyWalker.jpg

Dread vs Monty Walker

An enjoyable match which saw a surprising amount of offence from Monty Walker. Every time Dread attempted to load up, Monty would dart out of the way and hit something of his own. A clearly frustrated Dread was getting angrier the further the match went until about the 12 minute mark when he was able to catch Walker and hit the Dread Bomb for the pinfall victory.

Azaria: “A fine effort from Walker, but Dread just proved too much for him tonight.......Hang on a sec...”

The camera returns to the ring to see Dread continue the beating of Walker before picking him up for a second Dread Bomb.

Azaria: “Well that was just uncalled for!”

Rhodes: “Dread feels as though he was disrespected. Monty sealed his fate when he accepted the challenge.”

Azaria: “I still don’t think it’s right though.........................Up next we have tag team action between the Blazing Flames and The Tag Team Specialists.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/RobertOxford_alt5.jpghttp://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/JoelBryant.jpg VS http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/TeddyFlame.jpghttp://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/JoeyFlame.jpg

The Tag Team Specialists vs The Blazing Flames

A very entertaining fight saw momentum swing from one team to the other for the duration of the contest. The Tag Team Specialists really showed that they are improving as a team with slick tag team cohesion. However on this night things got a little out of hand as The Flames felt that they were being continually cheated by some of the TTS’ antics. Eventually the tension became too much and all out chaos ensued. The referee, left with no option had to call for a double DQ.

Azaria: “This really escalated quickly.”

Rhodes: “No kidding.”

Azaria: “Up next is one of the most anticipated match-ups in the tournament to crown the first HGC World Heavyweight Champion. We will see the demonic BLZ Bubb square off against Cowboy Ricky Dale.

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/TysonBaine.jpg VS http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/RickyDaleJohnson.jpg

HGC World Heavyweight Championship Quarter Final- BLZ Bubb vs Cowboy Ricky Dale

A somewhat disappointing affair seemed to be laboured by BLZ Bubb’s lack of selling. Not a show stealer by any means but it served its purpose in allowing Bubb to look strong. Cowboy proved that he can compete at the top level but fell short to BLZ Bubb and the Hades Bomb on this night. BLZ Bubb progresses to the tournament’s semi finals.

Azaria: “An impressive display from BLZ Bubb and he will be in the semi final. It goes without saying that he is very much a favourite to win the HGC World Heavyweight title.”

Rhodes: “It’s not all over yet. He still has to win two more matches. Anything can happen.”

Azaria: “Agreed. But right now we have our main event of the evening. The Vessey Brothers who are used to teaming with each other will have to go one on one for a shot to reach the Heavyweight title tournament semi-final. Let’s just hope that there will be no hard feelings when all is said and done.”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/LarryVessey.jpg VS http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/BryanVessey.jpg

HGC World Heavyweight Championship Quarter Final- Larry Vessey vs Bryan Vessey

A great bout saw two evenly matched fighters go at it for nigh on half an hour. Trading holds, slick transitions and high impact moves had the crowd standing when the matched neared its climax. Larry found himself in control and went for a running lariat only to have his arm caught. Bryan used this to hit the Vessey driver for the 1,2,3.

Azaria: “Great match right there! Two brothers who know each other’s games inside and out went all out to get a win. Unfortunately we couldn’t have two victors but we were certainly treated to a classic tonight! We will see you next week ladies and gentlemen for another night of HGC action. Goodnight!”

The camera turns back to the ring and we see Bryan celebrating whilst Larry is on his knees. Larry stands and taps Bryan on the shoulder. There seems to be a bit of tension. Larry extends his hand and the action is returned by Bryan. Larry raises his brother’s arm in the air before leaving the ring and heading backstage. The screen fades to black.

Prediction Results

Jingo: 4/6 - The first predictee for this diary and a great score to kick things off. The tag team draw threw you off a little bit which is understandable. I also understand that you chose Paul Steadyfast and believe me I had at one stage considered this. Anyway, nice going.

Boltinho: 4/6 - Another good score. Nice to see your predictions differed from Jingo's and yet you still got the same score. However, the Sharkey George prediction wasn't quite right.......:p

Jaded: 3/6 - I hope this diary does turn out to be awesome although I think the jury is still out on that one. Unfortunately your score wasn't quite good enough to earn a victory point, but the score was respectable none the less.

Prediction Results

Congratulations Jingo and Boltinho, you have won this round!

Overall

1st: Jingo = 1

1st: Boltinho = 1

I came very close to recently starting an HGC dynasty before scrapping it and going with a 77 Verse CPW (cheap plug) :D

Liberty vs Rip Chord - I think for the first ever pay per view you almost have to do Rip vs. Strong, I personally went with a four way elimination at the first pay per view so Strong and Rip could be in the main event but I could save their singles show down for later. I'd say Rip wins. If Liberty wins that would most likely mean Dread would have to win. Putting Liberty against Strong at the first ppv for the title would be babyface suicide for Liberty.

Sam Strong vs Dread - Like I said Strong vs. Rip seems to be what you're getting at unless you do Dread vs. Liberty and I'm of the belief the World title should go on last and honestly Dread vs. Liberty is not the final match of the night.....not yet atleast.

Bryan Vessey vs BLZ Bubb - The Demon from the Deep, the Angel of Death he's a singles guy, Bryan should be focused on a World Tag Team Titles.

Larry Vessey vs Peter Valentine - I have a soft spot for Peter and again I think the vessey's should be doing tag team wrestling.

The Blazing Flames vs Savage Fury - The Fury aren't that over and putting them over the best tag team not named The Vessey's would be silly.

Dark EAGLE vs Paul Steadyfast - Dark Eagle only signs short term contracts and he can't speak English, he's the very essence of enhancement talent.

Good luck!

HGC World Heavyweight Championship Quarter Final- Liberty vs Rip Chord

HGC World Heavyweight Championship Quarter Final- Sam Strong vs Dread

As mentioned above, Chord vs Strong needs to happen sooner rather than later.

Bryan Vessey vs BLZ Bubb

Larry Vessey vs Peter Valentine

Personally, I'd push Valentine to the moon, but I doubt you will. I'm thinking Larry wins this one, BLZ Bubb steamrolls through Bryan and beats him down, and we build to BLZ Bubb vs Larry, then morph into BLZ Bubb + 1 vs Vesseys later down the road.

The Blazing Flames vs Savage Fury - I love Fury, but the Flames are incredible. Plus, Fury don't NEED wins that badly, they can beat people up. (Menace is still pretty high for them in 97, yeah?)

Dark EAGLE vs Paul Steadyfast - EAGLE's a good jobber, but nothing more.

Loved the first show despite losing out on the predictions!

HGC Hollyweird TV

Tuesday of Week 2, January 1997

Centerpiece Bridge (Mid Atlantic)

Attendance: 5000 (SELL OUT!)

A flashy pyrotechnic display opens the second edition of HGC Hollyweird TV. The camera pans around the sell out crowd only occasionally stopping to focus on some of the more amusing signs made by fans. A smattering of HGC chants can be heard although for the most part it is drowned out by cheering. The camera centres on the HGC broadcast booth where Jason Azaria and Kyle Rhodes are ready to get the show underway.

Azaria: “Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of HGC Hollyweird TV and what a show we had last week.”

Rhodes: “I couldn’t have said it any better myself Azaria, we saw the HGC World Heavyweight Championship tournament get started when BLZ Bubb defeated Cowboy Ricky Dale. Bubb looked very impressive in this fight and he must be considered as one of the favourites to win it all.”

Azaria: “And who can forget the main event. Brother vs Brother, Vessey vs Vessey stole the show with a technical display to be marvelled. After a great match we saw Bryan take the next step in this tournament.”

Rhodes: “Was it just me, or did you get the feeling that Larry was more upset than he was letting on?”

Azaria: “It would be understandable if he felt that way, but as they say, blood is thicker than water and I am sure that any hard feelings have faded away by now.”

Rhodes: “Maybe.”

Azaria: “Right now we are ready to get this show started with a singles match between Dark EAGLE and Paul Steadyfast. Last week we saw EAGLE manage to use his cunning to win a triple threat match which featured Paul Steadyfast.”

Rhodes: “You could tell from the look on Paul’s face that he was not happy with how events unfolded and you can be sure that he will be deadly focussed on this match tonight.”

A nice opening contest featured some fast paced action from both competitors although Dark EAGLE seemed to be getting the better of the exchanges. As the match wore on Steadyfast appeared to be taking control and wearing down his opponent. This was thwarted however, when EAGLE came back with some high impact offence only to be suckered by a schoolboy rollup and a handful of tights which gave Steadyfast the cheap win.

Azaria: “Well it looks as though Steadyfast stole a victory there. He clearly had a handful of tights.”

Rhodes: “He still has that look in his eyes, had he not done what he did, he may very well have lost that match, EAGLE seemed to be closing in on a finish! This may not be over just yet.”

Azaria: “I guess we will have to wait and see..........Coming up next we have a tag team contest between The Blazing Flames and Savage Fury.............. In fact, I am just being told now that at HGC’s very first PPV we will witness the crowning of World Tag Team Champions as well as a World Heavyweight Champion. This match just got a lot more interesting! The winners here may find themselves in that title match!”

The Blazing Flames vs Savage Fury

A relatively one sided fight that saw the Blazing Flames dissect the overzealous Fury time and time again. For all of the good traits that the Savage Fury have going for them, patience is certainly not one of them. If they could refine their style and be more methodical and calculated they could be a serious force to be reckoned with. On this occasion The Blazing Flames proved too good and after a couple of double team classics (including a pair of superkicks) Joey made the pin on Tribal Warrior for the three count.

Azaria: “With that victory, The Blazing Flames may have secured themselves a spot in the tag team title match at Malice In Wonderland and...........wait a minute!”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/RobertOxford_alt5.jpghttp://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/JoelBryant.jpg

The Tag Team Specialists come running down the entrance ramp and start to beat on the Blazing Flames. After laying both brothers out, Robert Oxford takes a microphone and crouches down next to them as he speaks.

Oxford: “I hear that in a couple of weeks at the Malice In Wonderland Pay Per View, HGC will be crowning their first ever World Tag Team Champions. Rumour has it that you two sad sacks will be in that match...........But it looks to me like you are far from champions right now. Would champions be lying on the floor injured whilst others stood over them........no, I didn’t think so! You see me and Joel want the Tag Team belts and we sure as hell are more deserving then you. If you don’t like it, try doing something about it!”

Oxford throws the microphone down and he and Joel Bryant put one of their feet on the chest of the fallen Blazing Flames and raise their arms in the air.

Azaria: “A sneak attack from the TTS has put the Blazing Flames down, but the question is how they will react when they realise what just happened?”

Rhodes: “What we should be asking is whether or not this means that these two teams will square off for the titles at Malice In Wonderland? I sure hope so, you know you would get one hell of a fight!”

Azaria: “Unquestionably partner. But right now if I were the TTS, I would be looking over my shoulder. The Blazing Flames won’t take this lying down................Moving on to the next match on the card we have a one on one contest between Larry Vessey and Peter Valentine.”

Rhodes: “Valentine knows that Vessey is coming off a tough loss against his brother last week and will be looking to take full advantage of this fact.”

Azaria: “There is no quit in Larry though and he will be mentally prepared for the match.”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/LarryVessey.jpg VS http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/PeterValentine.jpg

Larry Vessey vs Peter Valentine

A close contest that saw both participants get in their fair share of offense. The tables began to turn in favour of Larry Vessey up until Demon Anger and Demon Spite appeared at the top of the entrance way. Neither man made his way down towards the ring; they both just stared at the participants inside. Larry Vessey, noticed their arrival and looked back unsure of what they wanted. Seeing the opportunity, Valentine trapped Vessey and hit the Heartbreaker before making the cover for the pinfall victory. Following the match, Demon Anger and Spite laughed and slowly made their way backstage. Larry Vessey, having regained his senses remained perplexed as to why the Demons of Rage made their presence known.

Rhodes: “That looked rather ominous. What do you suppose the Demons of Rage wanted?”

Azaria: “Who knows with those two? Only one thing is for certain, there were no good intentions.”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/LarryVessey.jpghttp://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/BryanVessey.jpg

The cameras follow Larry Vessey backstage as he enters the locker room. His brother Bryan, is preparing for his upcoming match when he notices Larry.

Bryan: “Hey, I saw your match.........what do you think Spite and Anger wanted?”

Larry: “I have no idea. I couldn’t focus on my match, they are just too unpredictable to ignore.”

Bryan: “I would have done the same thing.”

Larry: “Listen,.........about last week..........I’m happy that you are still in the title tournament, honestly I am. I mean, if I can’t be the world champion, who better to win it that my own brother?”

Bryan: “Thanks man......that means a lot to me..............Anyway man, I have to finish getting ready for my match.”

Larry: “No problem.....I need to hit the showers anyway.”

Larry leaves Bryan to prepare and heads for the showers.

Azaria: “Up next is a one on one matchup between two men who have already made their way into the Heavyweight title tournament semi-finals. Bryan Vessey squares off with BLZ Bubb.”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/BryanVessey.jpg VS http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/TysonBaine.jpg

Bryan Vessey vs BLZ Bubb

A solid contest that saw BLZ Bubb inflict the majority of the offence on his opponent. Vessey hung in there though and after about 10 minutes Bubb began to tire. After reversing a body slam, Vessey manage to position himself into a unique rollup pin for the victory. BLZ Bubb was not happy and threatened the referee before storming backstage. We then see on the screen above the entranceway an image of Larry Vessey lying on the floor seemingly unconscious. Bryan looks up and upon realising that his brother needed help he rushed backstage.

Azaria: “Oh my God! What happened to Larry Vessey!?”

Rhodes: “It looks like somebody laid him out.”

Azaria: “This is just terrible. Who would do such an underhanded thing?”

Rhodes: “Well I know who my money is on...............”

Azaria: “Well folks all we can do is keep you updated on the condition of Larry Vessey when we know more about it................Next up tonight is a HGC World Heavyweight Championship tournament Quarter Final match between the legendary Sam Strong and the intimidating Dread.”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/SamStrong.jpg VS http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/Dread_alt1.jpg

HGC World Heavyweight Championship Quarter Final- Sam Strong vs Dread

These two wrestling goliaths shared an intense stare down before they began to trade blows. Strong seemed to be getting the better of things as the match progressed although he was hit with an intentional low blow behind the referee’s back which slowed him down to say the least. Dread proceeded to hit clubbing forearms to the back of Strong every time he tried to get to his feet. The crowd began to cheer which came as a shock to Dread who was unanimously being booed by those in attendance. The reason for the crowd’s approval was standing right behind him, Monty Walker tapped Dread on the shoulder causing the big man to turn around. Monty flashed a beaming smile at his foe before blasting him with a kick right in the googlies. Fortunately the ref was still down from an earlier collision with Strong. Dread fell like a tall oak tree. The playing field was even. After a couple minutes had passed, Strong managed to hit the Strong Arm Tactic for the one-two-three. Monty Walker who was now standing at the entranceway gave Dread a cheeky wave before walking backstage. Dread sat in the ring apoplectic with rage and was literally foaming at the mouth.

Rhodes: “Monty Walker is officially a dead man walking.”

Azaria: “I have to agree with you. Whilst what Monty did was extremely bold it was very foolish and I think he may live to regret that.”

Rhodes: “Oh he will!......................It looks like Dread is grabbing a mic.”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/Dread_alt1.jpg

Dread: “WALKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have any idea what you have just done!!!!???? As God as my witness you will pay for this, you will pay dearly. You can run but you can’t hide. I’m gonna get you.....oh I’m gonna get you!”

Azaria: “It is now time for the main event of the evening. The final tournament quarter final match will see Liberty take on Rip Chord.”

Rhodes: “I have been looking forward to this one all night. Both of these athletes are more than capable of winning the entire thing. But first we have to see who the better man is between the two.”

http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/Liberty.jpg VS http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx252/LoNdOn_BeAsT/TEW%20Dynasty/RipChord.jpg

HGC World Heavyweight Championship Quarter Final- Liberty vs Rip Chord

The main event turned out to be a real crowd pleaser with both athletes giving it their all. Liberty took the advantage early on and dictated the pace for much of the fight. Chord has never been an easy opponent and managed to turn the table on his opponent after a bit too much pandering to the crowd. Chord dissected his man and applied a variety of painful looking holds. As the match neared the end we saw a few near fall finishes from both athletes but ultimately it was Rip Chord and his famous DDT that secured the win. The crowd appreciated the effort and cheered as the match ended.

Azaria: “What a match to end the show and if these opening round bouts are anything to go by we could be in for quite a tournament.”

Rhodes: “Whoever emerges from this tournament will certainly have earned that title. Excellent fight!”

Azaria: “Unfortunately that is all we have time for tonight, but be sure to tune in next Tuesday folks. Goodnight!”

Writer's Note

Hey guys. Thanks again for predicting, I hope you enjoyed the second installment. Always nice to read thoughts on the matches that you guys are leaving with your predictions. Hopefully I can keep you readers interested. I know I am not an established writer in the TEW diary thread and there are a lot of talented individuals producing top quality work, so the fact that even a select few are reading this and joining in means a lot to me. I will post the prediction results shortly.

Prediction Results

Teh_Showtime: 5/6 - Excellent predicting sir, almost the perfect score.

BHK1978: 4/6 - Nice going. Pleased to see you enjoy my TEW work as much as you enjoyed my WMMA2 stuff.

Jingo: 3/6 - Some bold predicting didn't quite pan out as you had hoped. You have to love somebody who doesn't always side with the favourites though.

Stennick: 5/6 - Always interesting to hear how others have booked the beginning of HGC. Great predicting by the way.

Jaded: 5/6 - You certainly make some interesting points. Guess you will have to wait and see to see if and how my plans differ from yours. Great score.

Sam Strong vs BLZ Bubb - Sam isn't losing to BLZ

Bryan Vessey vs Robert Oxford - Oxford has problems with the Flames but I can't see Vessey losing to Oxford.

The Demons Of Rage vs The Blazing Flames - The Vessey's have unfinished business

Fumihiro Ota vs Dusty Streets - I love Ota but he won't sign a written and he usually leaves for the SWF kinda quick that and Dusty is one of your top faces.

Dark EAGLE vs ??? - Again Eagle can't speak English, he'll only sign short term contracts, he's good in the ring but thats not enough to give a guy thats only around 3 months at a time wins.

Craig Prince vs Jack Bruce - This one is tough I love Craig Prince but I have a feeling you're going to push Jack to the moon. He's young, he's going to improve in the ring and he's got buckets of charisma.

Mucha Lucha vs The Nation Of Filth - Mucha Lucha are just a thrown together tag team when you look at the tag team depth of this roster they would both be better off in the Cruiserweight division.
