Hanshiro Furusawa

, the 60-year-old owner of pro-wrestling promotion Golden Canvas Grappling, has died in St. Luke's International Hospital this evening. Mr. Furusawa was rushed into the hospital after a tragic car accident involving three vehicles, Furusawa's car being the middle one. Furusawa was conscious for a moment at the scene of the accident but died later in the hospital due to several injuries."

 

 

"The wrestling world is shocked of the untimely departure of Hanshiro Furusawa and word has reached us that GCG has completely canceled their remaining tour dates from December to January for the time being. The ownership of the company is now in the hands of Mabuchi Furusawa, the son of Hanshiro Furusawa, who made the decision to cancel the remaining tour dates."

 

 

"The whole roster of GCG is said to be in a state of shock and especially Mabuchi has been reported being devastated by the accident and the loss of his father. Since Mr. Furusawa was a common interviewee on the JSV Network for many, many years, on behalf of the JSV Networks I'd like to send our deepest condolences to the Furusawa family.

GCG in a crisis?

Following the cancelling of the remaining tour dates of their last tour, the Golden Canvas Grappling has taken an unexpected downward spiral into the unknown. Not only has the GCG been damaged financially by the cancelling of the tour, some sponsors showing distrust to the new management and for paying downside and written wages to their employees without having any income for the past few months,

Mabuchi Furusawa

has offered several employees the chance of buying shares of the company which some industry insiders have described as "a guaranteed failure".

 

As if the financial problems weren't enough, there have been rumours of inner revolution aswell. Workers who had vowed loyalty to Hanshiro Furusawa do not feel the same way for the current owner and son of Hanshiro, Mabuchi Furusawa, who some workers deem to be 'way too young to have control over a company of the size of GCG' and 'too ruthless, unstable and manipulative to hold the locker room together'. According to the inside rumours some workers are in the verge of leaving the company, saying that they can't accept that a 23-year-old is their new boss.

Mabuchi Furusawa and Haruki Kudo are at Osaka Athletic Stadium as they hold their own press conference as a reply to the rising of BCG, lead by Takayuki 2000.

 

 

Furusawa: "

The rumours that have ran wild for these past few days are true. The war, the so-called revolution that Takayuki 2000 has started with his BCG against me and GCG is not a work of fiction, it is a fact."

 

"

I can't deny the fact that several workers have jumped ship over to BCG, lead by Takayuki. I can't deny the fact that GCG as a whole has been torn apart by his actions and his attempts of taking over the whole company. One of the many questions that I've been bombarded with these past few days has been the question of whether or not BCG is a whole new promotion or another brand under the GCG promotion. Unfortunately that is a question to which I might not have an answer at the moment because of some juridic problems we're now having because of the new contracts concerning the ownership of the promotion. We have our lawyers from both sides working on the case non-stop for these past few weeks now and it seems that we are coming into a conclusion on how things will be run on both sides in the near future."

Both sides have shown a great deal of unity and competitiveness and thus I have issued Takayuki a challenge.. A challenge for survival. Even though I believe that his little project will not survive for even a few months, I'm willing to throw in my challenge and have a little fun. Basicly we, GCG and BCG, will go heads up in terms of attendance, ratings and inter-promotional matches to see which side is winning the war and, ultimately, force the other out of business. The rules haven't yet been set in stone as we're still discussing the various terms and stipulations regarding the civil war of ours but I'm sure we'll be announcing all the details when we've finished the rules."

The touring schedule has been somewhat reshuffled because of the divide and it now seems that both promotions are going to run one weekly show on their own plus one joint event every week plus one joint annual event every month. I'm not yet sure how well it will work but hopefully we'll get things running smoothly.. All I really do care now is the continued survival of GCG and the fans of this promotion who have been with us, some for decades. Hopefully I can make my father proud even though right now it seems that I have let him down by making one of the biggest mistakes of my life.."

Well golly gee, I never normally manage to read Japanese Dynasties but this one may very well be the one to get me interested in the whole scene. Gripping stuff.

 

Ditto. The only one I can remember following with any sort of regularity was Tigerkinney's back in the days of TEW08... possibly even 07, but your unique backstory has captured my attention. I neglect the Japanese promotions far too much to offer any predictions, but I'll be reading none the less.

Hey what do you know, I had a very spontanious date on the day after I had posted the last post of mine in this diary and guess what, the date went extremely well and real life has really taken my time completely, not just the new girl but other stuff aswell. Hopefully I'll finally post the first show this weekend if I have the time and I'd really like to play the save too.

The spectacular lucha libre style of Dragon, Mr. Lucha and Extraordinario impressed the crowd in the early going when no ladders were involved but pretty soon all hell broke loose when JOJI and Insane Machine introduced some ladders into the match. Sure enough Extraordinario Jr. surprised JOJI and hit a fantastic Siempre Peleando (Wheelbarrow Bulldog), slamming him on top of a ladder. In the end the match boiled down to Insane Machine and Dragon Del Arco Iris Jr. fighting at the ladder, trying to grasp the BCG Junior Heavyweight title which was hanging from the ceiling.
