TheEffect Posted September 10, 2010 Share Posted September 10, 2010 Now a days, Hardcore wrestling has taken a backseat to more traditional wrestling. Never more so than in the UK, you occasionally hear stories in the media of hardcore wrestling from Japan from a federation called Warrior Engine something. But who am I? I’m Terry Forney. Heard of me? Didn’t think so, but don’t worry about me. Well here’s my backstory: I’ve been a wrestling fan since i was 13, after my parents took me to America. I went to see a small event in Orlando, Florida. From then, i was hooked. I then noticed that where i lived that there was small promotion called Men Of Steel Combat, shortened to MOSC. I went to one of the events and was amazed by their hardcore take on wrestling. It seemed so different from the stereo-typical traditional wrestling. I kept going to their events, but there started to be a shortage of wrestlers. I then heard a snippet of news on the wrestling grapevine. Basically PWTorch, which was my main place for wrestling news, MOSC had started to have financial issues. Instantly i was worried, where would i get my monthly fix of hardcore wrestling?! I then had an idea, it was a long shot but it was worth a try. I wrote a letter to MOSC’s owner Highland Warrior, asking to be trained by the promotion. The next week I was so hyped up, and then the letter arrived. It had a MOSC stamp on the top, i opened it with shaky hands. I then begun reading it out loud to make sure I wasn’t making it up. “Dear Mr Forney, We received your letter and are happy that there is still a love of hardcore wrestling with your generation. Now to your request. MOSC would gladly like to take you on as a trainee. Please just send us your contact details and we will give you where we train. Hope to see you soon. Yours Sincerely, Greg "Highland Warrior" McPeterson” After that I went to train personally with Greg, I came along fast and he was impressed. Now and again another wrestler to train with us, I believe his name was Gavin Mackenzie, who would later be known as Ultra Violence. He was a great bloke and we begun to hung out after training sessions, we soon became best friends. Then I got called up to the roster. I was scheduled to fight Gavin in a light tube match. Now light tube matches are known to be dangerous. All my family were against it, but I did it anyway. The match went well and my career begun. My career in MOSC wasn’t memorable by any means, I then left on the 19th May 2012, after getting in a fight with Bruiser. I left of my own accord and Greg McPeterson shook my hand and said that he would let me back at a moment’s notice. By that time, I already had ideas for my own promotion. So I made it a reality. But your shows don't even involve that much writing in the first place. It's not that hard to just copy and paste pictures and results from TEW.
