Keeping It Simple in Supreme

Recommended Posts

So, this is isn't going to be some huge complicated diary with beautiful graphics, multiple backstage articles, and long match writeups. This is going to be simple stripped down Supreme. Basically, the same as IG Supreme except I'm in charge, but I'm not going to have a 'character' IG. The only news you'll be getting is in the form of television and PPV reports, with the occasional news note. As a result, only 'big' moments as far as interviews or promos will be written out.

Now that I've managed expectations, ( :) ) here's the preview for the first Supreme TV. Note than any matches in brackets like this [Tommy Cornell vs. Sam Strong] aren't announced before hand.

SWF Supreme TV

[Eric Eisen & Vengeance vs. Jack Bruce & Rich Money]

Steve Frehley vs. Remo

Marat Khoklov vs. Brett Biggz

Marc DuBois & Paul Huntingdon vs. The Amazing Bumfholes

Christian Faith vs. Runaway Train.

Predict Away!

OMG IT'S TOMMY CORNELL VS. SAM STRONGhey wait a second. *glarz*

[Eric Eisen & Vengeance vs. Jack Bruce & Rich Money]

He's champ currently.

Steve Frehley vs. Remo

I believe he's higher-pushed initially. btw, if this match isn't dinged for psychology and/or rates above a...75 or so, I will be surprissed. That's "surprised" and "pissed".

Marat Khoklov vs. Brett Biggz

DO IT. YOU KNOW IT TO BE TRUE.

Marc DuBois & Paul Huntingdon vs. The Amazing Bumfholes

Declining to predict a winner (i.e. I predict a draw) because you have offered me no one I tolerate. I hate all four members of this match. ^5

Christian Faith vs. Runaway Train.

Wait, Faith's kind of old. Was going to say Train putting over a young guy, but...it's Train putting over an old guy. I expect shenanigans and for me to be wrong.

Your Supreme TV Report for the First Week of January in 2010.

by Jesse James

BOOM! PYRO! After thanking the crowd, he recaps last week where Khoklov came out and caused him the loss against Remo that gave The Destroyer the path to the finals of the number one contenders tournament. Faith then makes the official announcement that it'll be Faith-Khoklov again at When Hells Freeze Over to a pretty big pop. Ya' gotta' wonder if they're overdoing this feud though.

Before Faith can say much more, Train's music hits and the big man charges out as usual. However, he's getting a smaller pop week by week and it's interesting that people aren't buying him as the monster he was even two years ago. Anyway, Train says that he's kicked Faith's ass before and tonight, he'll show him that he shouldn't be worried about 'that overgrown Commie science experiment, you should be worried about getting in the way of a Runaway Train!”

Christian Faith vs. Runaway Train

Brawl to start off with as usual with these two guys. Train gets the early advantage thanks to cheating, choking, and pure power, while Faith tries to fight back. Early near fall happens when Train hits his big lariat. However, the SWF Supreme Legend fights back and even blocks the Derailer!

From there, it's all about Faith showing off his power and he sends Runaway Train from pillar to post, getting a big near fall off the big splash in the corner. But, Train kicks out then goes low to regain the advantage. Train then went for the Train Wreck, but Faith slips out – BIG BELLY TO BACK! Faith sends him into the corner – BIG SPLASH! POWERSLAM! He goes up top, LEAP OF FAITH (Top Rope Splash)! ONE! TWO! THREE! As usual, Faith and Train put together a solid power match, but the crowd wasn't totally into it, largely due to the fact nobody bought that Train had a chance.

Christian Faith p. Zimmy starts off with Huntingdon once things calm down and a series of quick maneuvers catches the young artistocrat off guard. From there, the middle portion is mostly a series of quick tags between both Bumfhole brother hitting a variety of moves, but never being able to put Huntingdon out as either he gets the ropes or DuBois manages to saves him.

Near the end though, Zimmy finally went up top for the BUMFHOLE IN ONE (Frog Splash), but DuBois shook the ropes leading to an off target dive by the former tag champ. With Zimmy on the ground, DuBois was able to be tagged in and he quickly went to work on Zimmy, hitting him with a series of slams and suplexes before sending him into a corner and dropping him with the MARC OF EXCELLENCE (Roll-Through German Suplex)! ONE! TWO! THREE!

Marc DuBois & Paul Huntingdon d. Oh, beat up the Bumfhole's some more. Huntingdon comes in and goes to work on the fallen Zimmy while DuBois brawls with Randy to the outside. Jerry Eisen and Peter Michaels says DuBois and Huntingdon should be stripped of their number one contender spots, but that's all for naught as after a few minutes of brawling, the Tag Champs Without a Nickname run out and make the save for the Bumfholes! Quick staredown between the two teams as Marky Mark and Pretty Paul head to the back as the valiant Knight's help the Bumfholes up as we head to commercial. To the actual match, a very solid match, but unfortunately, none of these four guys are over enough to get a lot of heat from a Supreme TV audience. He also says, “I got no beef with Eric Eisen since he's the man who writes the checks, but he's also got's that SWF World title and that belongs around my waist.” Solid promo as usual from Remo.

Brett Biggz vs. Marat Khoklov

Poor, poor, doomed Brett. Before the match, he sends Jessie to the back because ya' know, giant Russian dude. As expected, he gets tossed around like Cat Jemson at a DAVE reunion at first. Big forearms, clubbing fists, even a big boot which sends Brett to the outside. At that moment, he realizes 'oh right, I'm facing a monster.' So, he starts to run and avoid Koklov like he's a chicken with his head cut off. Quick slide in the ring, stand up, avoid Khoklov's ambling rush, slide back out to a count of seven. Run around, do it again. Biggz does this several times and even gets a decent pop when he slides under Marat's legs to get to the outside.

However, on about his sixth time doing this, Marat catches him! THROW INTO THE CORNER! SOVIET SLEDGE! MOSCOW LARIAT! ONE! TWO! THREE! That's the end of Brett for the evening. Good little cat 'n' mouse match, but crowd kind of knew the whole time that Brett was dead from the moment the bell rung.

Marat Khoklov p. He shoves off the ref as he tries to pick Brett up and grabs one half of one of the most decorated tag teams in the SWF – CHOKE SLAM! He puts him in the front chancery position – POWERBOMB O' DEATH! That's the move that took out Kikkawa! Crowd is way more into this than the match.

Partners? For Now? We'll take 'em all out.” Money gets the mic from here, saying it's a shame that neither Bruce nor he was allowed in the number one contender's tournament and that tonight, it's all about proving who is money. Not surprisingly, Bruce and Money together are a very good promo.

Commercial Break

Steve Frehley vs. Remo

Michaels puts over the path to the finals for both men, including Remo beating Faith via interference last week and Frehley somehow managing to pin 'Big Money' in the middle of the ring after Joe Sexy tried to hit on Emma Chase at ringside. The match starts with the common power struggle SWF viewers have repeatedly seen between the two men, including strikes, slams, and suplexes, ending with a huge LAUNCH PAD (Overhead Belly-to-Belly) SUPLEX by FREHLEY!

Big pop for that as Frehley continues on offense before being cut off by a Remo reversal of a suplex into a big throw of his own. From there, the methodical Richardson goes to work on Frehley with a series of strikes and holds of his own, including a mocking Frehley by sending him into the ropes and nailing the former World Champion with a spear. After that, 'The Destroyer' finishes up by grabbing Frehley as he gets to his feet and nailing him with the REMO BUSTER (Bear hug to spinebuster)! ONE! TWO! BIG KICKOUT BY FREHLEY!

Showing his ring smarts, Remo doesn't immediately go for another big move. Instead, he goes back to work on Frehley's back, attacking him with even more offense. This time, Remo drills Frehley with the LUMBAR PUNCTURE (Double Underhook Backbreaker! However, the big man picks up a woozy Frehley up immediately and goes for The Destroyer (STO), but Frehley is somehow able to elbow out of it. Both at a vertical base, Remo tries to lock Steve in position for The Destroyer again, but Frehley elbows out, ducks under a lariat attempt by Remo, kick to the gut – FREHLEY'S COMET (F5) OUT OF NOWHERE! ONE! TWO! THREE! Remo kicked out a millisecond too late! Great action and a good crowd willing to see Frehley-Remo Part XXVII. Frehley celebrates as we go to commercial while Remo glowers on the outside of the ring, staring bullets at the man who will now get the title shot in nine days.

Steve Frehley p. Eric Eisen's new for 2010 starts up as he power walks with the World Title belt on his shoulder and a confident smile on his face. He waits a moment for the boos to calm down, then grabs the mic. He talks about how in all honesty, 'I could've gone down and picked up any of the Minnesota Vikings who will be soon out of the playoffs and bought out their contracts before bringing them as my backup' to get some cheap heat, before getting to the heart of the matter. After going over a couple of wrestlers he could've picked, including Everest and FAG, he concluded simply by saying, 'at the end, it is all about dominance. So, I made a very intriguing offer to a man who has been dominant since he set foot in the land of Supreme. A man who realizes that with power comes opportunity. An opportunity for...Vengeance!” At that, Vengeance's spooky as hell music hit. Both Michaels and big brother Jerry tried to figure out what Eisen offered Vengeance as both men headed to the ring.

Jack Bruce & Rich Money vs. Eric Eisen © & Vengeance

Big ole' brawl of doom to start as all four men trade shots. Vengeance with Money, Bruce with Eisen, Eisen with Money, and Bruce with Vengeance. Michaels even remembers to mention that it had been Bruce who had taken the SWF World Heavyweight Title away from Vengeance nearly a year ago and even how at The Supreme Challenge 29, Vengeance had been the first man Bruce had through was the Mystery Man that turned out to be Eric Eisen.

As all that history was given, Bruce and Vengeance brawled in the outside while Rich Money and Eric Eisen traded shots inside the ring. Eisen gained the early advantage with an eye poke and a low blow, but then went to work on Money. Money barely kicked out of several big moves, but the big finish was when Eisen went for the SILVER SPOON SHOCK (Sleeper-style Neckbreaker), but Money slipped out of it and behind Eisen before nailing him with the MONEY IN THE BANK (High Angle German) for a near fall!

However, Eisen quickly hit another ball shot on Money as they both got to their feet and the SWF World champ quickly tagged in Vengeance who quickly began to tear apart Money. Slams, lariats, chokes, big boots, and more happened as Money bounced around like a nearly three hundred pound pinball for Vengeance. But, Money showed he wasn't completely out of it as he blocked an attempted choke slam by Vengeance with several elbow smashes before taking him down to the mat with a huge side suplex!

Money then rolled over and quickly tagged in Bruce to a big pop who went wild on Vengeance. Dropkick! High Knee! Flying Forearm! Wait for it...Big Right Hand! Big Right Hand! A little shimmy, a little shake – Big Left Hand sends Vengeance to the corner! Vengeance stumbles out – Spear by Bruce! Bruce immediately scrambles to the outside, leaps off the ropes near Vengrance's corner – WAIT! Eisen nailed him with Vengeance's Scythe, but the ref didn't see it! Bruce falls right to the ground as Money goes ballistic! Vengeance picks him up – SKULL KRUSHER! ONE! TWO! THREE!

Vengeance & Eric Eisen d. Jack Bruce & Rich Money – 14:46 – B-

I'm Sure You Totally Put A Lot Of Thought Into This, Eric.

As usual, put four SWF main events in a match and it'll be a match with some excellent action, even if one of them is Eric Eisen. Anyway, as Supreme TV went off the air, it ended with Eisen smugly holding the World Title belt over his shoulder pointing at Bruce and Money who were on the outside, all while Vengeance stood silently beside Eisen, but looking more at the SWF Heavyweight title than the two competitors on the outside.

The Final Verdict : As we head to the PPV, at least we have some matches finally. Frehley versus Eisen should be a decent stopgap while the Bruce/Money situation shakes itself out, Faith-Khoklov again will get some big pops, and the tag title match is a fine program to either switch the belts back or solidify Geidroyc and Valiant as the top team in the promotion. Nothing out of this world, but let's call it a B-.

Nice write-up, I like the segment titles and the small doses of humour spliced throughout (like Frehley-Remo Part XXVII!). The only suggestion I would make though is to avoid using the orange text in quotation boxes... it's not all that clear to read.
