GAMMA - Heading for the top of the world!

Recommended Posts

Before WMMA 3 I had no experience with this series of games, but I have played EWR, TEW2005 and TEW2010. So when I read that Adam was going to release a new version of WMMA I decided to try the WMMA2 demo and thought it was good. And when the demo for WMMA3 was released I was hooked and decided to buy the full game when it was released.

Now it’s time for my first ever WMMA dynasty here on GDS, I will play as GAMMA.

I've decided to get some new fighters and a PPV deal before my first show.

GAMMA 22: Aftermath

In the preliminary bouts the new signing showed how good they are as promising as I hoped. I'm really impressed by Chuck Dooley, who won KO Of The Night, and Manoel Cabral, who won Submission Of The Night. If they keep up like this they have a very bright future in GAMMA.

Delroy Rhodes also got a nice win, a little lucky though as it was a Split Decision, under his belt and he is now 7-0.

Manoel Cabral is after GAMMA 22 ranked as #11 in the lightweight division.

Delroy Rhodes is ranked as #12 in the welterweight division.

Chuck Dooley is ranked as #19 in my crowded heavyweight division.

In the main card, which was not very good one, there only one fight that was standing out to the others and that was the fight between Yevgeni Sipatov vs. Bobby Brubaker.

In the Main Event of the evening Linfield Ballard managed to put Spencer Rubenstein's two year long reign as the GAMMA Light Heavyweight champion to an end and managed to take back the title which he had between September 1994 and January 1996. Who will be the new #1 Contender for Ballard's title? And will Spencer Rubenstein be able to get back into contendership someday?

GAMMA is also proud to present GAMMA 23: Boyer vs. Hughes!

This show's main event will be the #1 contender fight between Tim Boyer and Raul Hughes, where the winner will get a shot at the GAMMA Heavyweight title before the year is over.

Round 2:

The second round is pretty the same as round one, exchange of jabs and punches until Halvorsen once again tries a takedown. This time he's successful when Henson is too slow. Halvorsen managed to mount Henson and tries to apply a armbar, and he fully applies it and Henson have to tap out.

Official result: 'The Perfectionist' Dan Halvorsen defeats 'Blazin'' Callum Henson by submission (Armbar) in 3:02 of round 2.

Round 1

The fight begins with some jabs and punches. Brockett goes for a takedown which Baldwin sees coming and tries to turns it into a Guillotine submission. Brockett managed to block the submission with a takedown and takes control on the ground. Brockett starts to punch away on Baldwin giving the referee no choice but to step in between the fighters and stop the fight.

Official result: Bud 'The Rocket' Brockett defeats Henry 'The King' Baldwin by TKO (Strikes) in 2:48 of round 1.

Round 1

Bogdonovich starts the fight trying to get some blows in on Van Den Hauwe. But Van Den Hauwe soon uses his wrestling skills to try to take control by the fight. He pins Bogdonovich against the cage and manages to keep him there for the rest of the round. Van Den Hauwe is the better one in the first round.

Before the second round we hear from Bogdonovich's corner that he is looking to hit and run in this round to try to turn the tide of momentum in the fight.

Round 2

This 'new' strategy seems to pay off for Bogdonovich as he is the more aggressive of the two in the second round. If the first round was a wrestling round in favor for Van Den Hauwe the second round was a boxing round in favor for Bogdonovich.

Round 3

In the third round both fighter is very tired and the fighting suffers because of this. Van Den Hauwe tries to stay away from Bogdonovich and his punches. No one of the fighters goes for a takedown but instead they keep exchanging jabs. The fight goes to the judges to decide.

The judges give a score of 29-28.

Official result: 'The Dockland Destroyer' Jerry Bogdonovich defeats 'The Modern Day Gladiator' Bryan Van Den Hauwe by Unanimous Decision.

Round 1

Once again there's a fight between a fighter who uses a grappling strategy and one who uses a brawling strategy. But I hope this fight won't be as the last one. As expected Reid goes for grappling and tries to get takedowns and pinning Ripley against the cage. Meanwhile Ripley tries to go for jabs and hit Reid with strikes. Reid is the more aggressive one as he tries to get takedowns and it seems like he wins this round.

Round 2

The second round starts where the first one ended, with Reid going for control using his grappling skills. He goes for a early takedown which Ripley avoids and to counter the takedown attempt Ripley tries to hit a huge right hook that Reid narrowly escapes. Reid goes for another takedown attempt, which Ripley tries to counter with a right hand, but he's too slow and Reid gets the takedown. On the ground Reid gets the upper hand and gets behind Ripley. When Ripley tries to escape he only gives up his back and Reid goes for a Rear Naked Choke submission attempt and when he managed to get locked in Ripley don't have any other choice but to tap out. Too bad for Ripley as it was 15 seconds left of this round.

Official result: 'The Amazing' JJ Reid defeats 'The Talented' Sutton Ripley by Submission (Rear Naked Choke) in 4:45 of round 2.

Round 1

The fight starts with Hughes hitting a low right kick followed a few hard lefts which Boyer does his best to defend himself against. When Hughes tries to hit Boyer with a series of rights he only hit Boyer's cover. Hughes continues to be the more aggressive fighter and keeps trying to hit Boyer with his strikes. In the last minute Hughes manages to hit two big strikes on Boyer, first it was a solid left hand that hit and later a big left hook almost knocks Boyer down. This round is Hughes thanks to his aggressiveness and his big strikes.

Round 2

Boyer's corner tells him to try to hit some counter strikes on Hughes this round. But this don't seems to help as Hughes starts this round with a right kick to Boyer's body and then he hits a couple of left hands. This might have hurt Boyer who backs away. When Boyer tries to clinch Hughes, Hughes counters with a left hand that wobbles Boyer. Later in the round it seems like all the strikes takes its toll as he tries to throw some combos that Hughes easily avoids. Hughes seems to start to show signs of tiring as he doesn't seems as aggressive anymore and the tempo of the fight slows down a bit. But this round still goes to Hughes. Hopefully the third round will get better.

Round 3

Both fighters seems to be tired as no one seems to hit any hard punches anymore, and they seem to wait the other out to see what he move he does. The fighters seems to spend the time of this round exchanging punches and jabs that doesn't hit hard enough to make any damage. The end of the round is slow paced and kind of boring as the fighters circles around each other and Boyer pins Hughes against the cage. By doing this Boyer gets the upper hand in the last minute as he starts to hit Hughes with some hard strikes. Thankfully for Hughes the time runs out and it's up to the judges to decide the result.

Official result: 'The Demolition Expert' Raul Hughes wins by Unanimous Decision.
