WWE - Heading to a New Year.

Recommended Posts

This diary is going to be a completely Kayfabe Diary treated as if it was just you watching each TV show. There will be "News and Rumours" posts as well as if from wrestling observer etc.

I'm going for this form because with a company like the WWE, it's more about what's going on on TV rather than what's going on backstage.

I'm using Mr Canada's data and I'm starting in December 2010. The initial storylines and matches set for TLC will be ALMOST the same, but the content of the storylines and some of the matches will be changed. I'll post Champions and Rosters in a few.

Update: I figured I would add links to each show as I go along on the front page as I go along.

In this year he had held the WWE United States Championship for 10 of the 12 months since originally winning the belt, and then moved on to win the Money In The Bank Championship. Cashing the opportunity in the last week of November, just before our story begins, saw The Miz become a first time WWE Champion. With Alex Riley at his side, the Awesome-One has found himself the epicentre of the Raw Brand.</p><p></p></div></div><div></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="29939" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;">World Heavyweight Champion</span></span></p></div><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/Titles/WWEWorldHeavyweight.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#FF0000;">Kane</span></span></span></p><p> </p><p> Much like Raw's champion, The Big Red Machine started the year as little more than an afterthought. His efforts were little and his turns were frequent. Again, just like Raw's champion, the change came just weeks after an injury to The Undertaker had left the deadman in a "Vegatative" state. Kane won and cashed in the Smackdown Money In The Bank contract and defeated Rey Mysterio. His "Vendetta" to find The Undertaker's attacker in the end revealed Kane to be the purportrator. His actions had seen him defeat The Undertaker in three straight Pay Per Views and then defend his title against Edge at Survivor Series. Kane's journey continues with his father, Paul Bearer, being abducted by Edge.</p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="29939" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;">WWE United States Champion</span></span></p></div><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/Titles/WWEUnitedStates.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">Daniel Bryan</span></span></span></p><p> </p><p> If asked, Daniel Bryan must consider 2010 to have been his strangest in Wrestling. After siging for the WWE at the tail end of 2009, the so called best Wrestler in the world had been self-eliminated from NXT, joined in the attack on John Cena, been fired for choking Justin Robert's with his own tie, returned to be part of the WWE team at Summerslam against The Nexus and defeated his NXT mentor for the United States Championship... Did I miss anything? Bryan has been incredibley popular with the fans and his in ring ability is something almost all of his peers can appricate.</p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="29939" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;">WWE Intercontinental Champion</span></span></p></div><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/Titles/WWEIntercontinental.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#FF0000;">Dolph Ziggler</span></span></span></p><p> </p><p> Many people have underestimated just how good Dolph Ziggler is in the ring and on the mic. It is only when you look at the fact that he has now held the WWE Intercontinental Championship for almost six months is testiment to just how good he is. His relationshp with Vickie Guerrero has indeed helped to raise his profile, as it would when the first words heard before your face is seen are "Excuse me?!" It was, however, clear that Santino's charm had won Kozlov over and, in the end, they were merged. At first, Kozlov spent his little time acting as Santino's comedy side-kick. That was, until they defeated The Nexus and captured the WWE Tag Team Championships. It's to be seen how important the Tag Team Championhips will become over the next 12 months with the WWE looking to recreate the Tag Team division. Should be interesting to see how this pans out.</p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="29939" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;">WWE Tag Team Champions</span></span></p></div><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/Titles/WWEDivas.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">Natalya</span></span></span></p><p> </p><p> One of the best female talents in the world of wrestling is Natalya, the current Diva's Champion. It's not funny, it's not clever and I have no interest in listening to anymore supposidly funny jibes at my hilarious name.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> I am Brian Rockferry, I'm a wrestling fan and a writer. I've recently found myself with some spare time on my hands and I've decided to use that time writing a column here on Wrestlefest. My job sucks, I'm a 32 year old single man who spends at least three (if not four) nights of my week in my one bedroom apartment watching wrestling. I was lucky to be a wrestling fan through the beginning of the WWF/E, the rise and fall of WCW and the start of what some would think is a "surge" of popularity for Total Non-Stop Action wrestling. My passion is WWE; it's what I've grown up with and, even during the "WCW-was-crushing-WWE" days, I still didn't flick over on Monday Nights. I was a Hogan fan, a Hart fan, an Austin fan, a Rock fan and currently a Cena fan. Screw you, I don't care that you hate him.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> My reason for telling you about my horribley depressing life is that the little joy I get from it is watching greased up men roll around a ring with each other for at least ten hours of my week. That's the equal to the amount of time I spend at work in one day. It's about three times as long as I spend actually working during my work week. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that my column is going to be the definitive work on wrestling that others will quote verbatim in the future as "the voice" of a generation of wrestling fans. I'm not that far inside my own colon. What it will be is the time I spend telling anyone who wants to listen what I think about what's going on in the WWE. I say the WWE and not wrestling because A) I have no desire to write about TNA, watching it is difficult enough and B) because writing about independent shows would be a full time job to cover everyone that I would want to talk about.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> I'd also like to point out that I wont be writing about Superstars because, well, it has no point. We wont be covering it on the site because it's a glorified house show used to get workers who aren't wrestling some TV time. If it's worthwhile talking about, we'll do a special but other than that... No, just no.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> Now... On to my thoughts on the current WWE.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="29939" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';">1) </span></span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><strong>The roster is way too thin</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> - I was looking at the roster the other day and, counting Diva's and Jerry Lawler who has thrown the boots on every once in a while, the WWE currently has fifty three workers. Nine of those are divas and one of those commentates. That leaves forty three active workers. Doesn't seem bad I hear you cry? One of those is The Great Khali and Seven of them are The Nexus who don't wrestle every week. I have heard that the WWE's firing spree is over and a signing spree is about to start. Good, we need it. Whatsmore, I think FCW is running out of active workers to plow into NXT, so either the concept has to change or they need to hire more independent workers.</span></span><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> 2) </span></span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><strong>The Upper Card is suffering</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> - The previous point leads nicely to this point, on two brands we currently have two World Champions and 6 other active Main Event level stars. Yeah, that's going to lead to fueds getting real old, real quickly. There are a number of options, either kiss the asses of some of those old workers who are currently AWOL (Jericho, Batista etc.) or raise the profile of some of the current workers. There's not much time before Mania, although the Royal Rumble is often a good way to put a new worker over, I don't know though, pushing young workers is great, but there's no subsititute for experiance.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> 3) </span></span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><strong>Guest Hosts have to stop</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> - Raw and Smackdown both have General Managers (a point I'll come to later), so why would either show need a "Guest Host". I know the General Manager position was up in the air after Bret Hart's insurance issue, but that was meant to be the end of it right there. It had it's time, and some moments have been priceless (See Bret Hart 04/01/10 and Steve Austin 15/03/10), and some missing superstars, for whatever reason, have been disappointing (See The Rock and Mick Foley), but for god sake end it. END IT.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> 4) </span></span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><strong>Raw needs an ON SCREEN General Manager</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> - The Anonymous General Manager has reached a point where it's not even clear what it is anymore. Some weeks it makes heel decisions, some weeks it makes face decisions. An actual on screen GM can make those types of decision and make it work, but a guy working through Michael Cole just isn't going to cut it much longer. I do, however, emplore the writers not to rush into cutting it short. It needs to be built up to and done properly. Firstly, the GM has to be a worker that hasn't been around since the concept began. HBK would be a bad choice from a continuity stand-point. Secondly, the GM has to have some legitimate pop to it to ensure that the "anonymous" part has a point. Abraham Washinton had been touted, but he has no reason to have been anonymous.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> 5) </span></span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><strong>Wrestlemania has to be epic</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> - Last year's Wrestlemania was good, but still a let down in terms of what we've come to expect. HBK Vs The Undertaker was indeed match of the year, but it wasn't as good as the previous years. Edge Vs Jericho really should have had more to it as a fued than it did, Cena Vs Batista had good build up but a physically poor match, Hart Vs McMahon was a gimmick more than a match, Mysterio Vs CM Punk had so much more potential, Triple H Vs Sheamus should have been epic, but felt like two friends who didn't want to risk hurting each other, Money In The Bank featured too many "Big Men", Orton Vs Legacy worked really well in terms of turning Orton face and ShowMiz Vs Morrison and Truth just seemed thrown together... Ok, I'll admit, I was REALLY harsh there. But that's because I remember some of the truly epic Wrestlemania's of the past, it's not just the matches it's the feeling you get from just being a part of it... I hope you understand what I mean, it just didn't sell me on being an epic show.</span></span></p></div></blockquote><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Lucida Sans Unicode';"> These are my top five qualms with the WWE as we head into the final month of 2010. I know the Guest host thing has stopped now, but that's only been confirmed in the last couple of weeks. I was working this from the beginning of December so it was still up in the air.

I'll be booking NXT from about week three or so. The future of NXT will come clear in the near future.

The match started with Orton taking A-Ri apart with The Miz refusing to enter the match, that was until Riley managed to take Orton down with surprise clothesline. By the time The Miz tagged in, Orton was up and Miz changed his mind tagging Riley back in. Eventually, the heels took control over the the ever impressive R-Truth. The hot tag almost took the roof off the arena as Orton cleaned house on Miz and Riley. In the end, as The Miz cowered at ringside, Riley ate an RKO and took the pinfall. Strangely, as Orton made the pin, The Miz decided to hit a Skull Crushing Finale on Truth, rather than save the match for his team.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:12px;">Winner of the match by pinfall - Randy Orton and R-Truth</span></span></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><em><strong>Cole:</strong></em></span><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"><em> Orton gets the victory! Orton, however, reversed the hold, looking to hit an RKO, yet Miz dropped to his knees and swung his arm forward connecting with Orton's groin. Stumbling forward, this time Orton was susceptible to the SKF and this time felt the full force. Miz shook Riley awake and called something to him. Riley groggily dropped to the outside and started to search under the ring before finally pulling out a table! The crowd boo as Riley slides it into the ring and follows it inside. As Riley sets up the table, Orton begins to fight back. He catches Miz in position for the RKO again but once more, Miz pushes out. Orton hits the ropes and comes back swinging a double clothesline at both Miz and Riley. The duo duck, and Orton puts on the breaks before running into the table. Wrestle Fest Rumour-Mill

  • The WWE are planning a signing spree in anticipation of the new series of NXT starting in two weeks time. Currently, there are just highlights of seasons 1-3 playing out on Tuesday nights.
  • They're also looking to hire some established names to bulk out the main roster. News on who they may be has not come to light.
  • One move that has been earmarked is a move to bring Randy Savage back to help with colour commentary.
  • The McMahon's seem to have taken a step back recently and are allowing the writers to take much more initiative with what is going on in week.
  • There is talk of the Wrestlemania Main Event being a "First Time Ever..." type Scenario which will, they hope, draw a lot bigger number than last years.
  • Injured superstar, Christian was this week seen in Florida meeting up with some of TNA's superstars, this may be nothing but there is a chance he's thinking of moving BACK to TNA when his contract comes up.
  • The Diva's are said to be "up in arms" over the proposal to feature them less prominantly on TV over the next few months. It has been said that Michelle McCool has discussed her displeasure with her husband who has, in the past, been very much in the ear of Upper Management.
  • Triple H is said to be thinking about not returning as an Active competitor when his injury is cleared up.

Please note, these are just rumours and there are NOT being reported as news. Some of these stories may well be little more than speculation. Until we have confirmation they will remain as Rumours.

Wrestle Fest Newsbeat

  • Confirmed is a report earlier this week that several members of the WWE roster have been dropped back to FCW. Alicia Fox and the Bella Twins are amongst the diva's returning to development.
  • Also confirmed, CM Punk will be looking to return to action in time for The Royal Rumble in order to get some kind of storyline in play for Wrestlemania.
  • It has also been confirmed that WWE Champion The Miz has played himself into the graces of the "higher-ups" in the WWE with his recent Media tour.
  • Finally, and possibly the biggest news that we could report is that Chris Jericho has agreed a new contract with the WWE. His current spate of tours and apperances come to an end at the beginning of February, so expect him to be back on WWE TV before Wrestlemania.

Cole: Welcome everyone to another edition of Friday Night Smackdown! I'm the Voice of the WWE, Michael Cole here with my broadcast colleagues Todd Grisham and Matt Striker.

Grisham: Thank you Michael! Tonight, we have a fantastic double Main Event tonight with Rey Mysterio taking on Kane and Edge taking on Alberto Del Rio.

Striker: Two fueds will become one tonight, ladies and gentlemen as Rey and Rio, and Kane and Edge switch opponents on tonights edition of Smackdown.

"Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Make me a Match..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/Edge.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/Kane.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/TheodoreLong.jpg

Edge, Kane & Theodore Long

As Striker comes to the end of the introduction to Smackdown, the music of the Rated "R" Superstar, Edge hits as he makes his way out to the ring. Climbing inside he takes a mic and stands central, his eyes focused on the camera. He waits for a moment, allowing the crowds cheers to die down.

Edge: Two weeks ago, at The Survivor Series, I lost my shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. Was it because Kane was better than me? Was it because he was the better man? No, none of the above. I lost my shot at the one thing I love, the one thing I care about more than myself... Because I lay too far over Kane and my shoulders were down too. Come on, are you serious? THAT'S the reason I'm not the World Heavyweight Champion right now? That's the reason that Kane hasn't found got his daddy back? Even Kane has to admit that this is a really bad reason to hold off on their creepy family reunion. Alas, until I get my fair and just title shot, I just can't accept I have just cause to return Paul Bearer to Kane, not in any kind of reasonable condition anyway. So I suggest, I get my title shot at TLC or Kane, I swear to god or the devil, whoever the hell you pray to, you'll be scraping your fathers remains off the Death Valley free-way.

Before Edge has a chance to continue, the explosions cue The Big Red Monster. Kane makes his way out to the ring and drops his title half way down the ramp. He makes sure to pull his gloves on tight in preparation for the fight that's about to ensue. Kane climbs into the ring, and turns towards Edge... Only to find the Rated "R" Superstar mid-Spear! The crowd pop for the move, but only for a moment as Kane manages to side-swipe the move. Edge turns around and eats a Kane boot and, within moments, is on top of Edge raining down lefts and rights. Edge does, eventually fight Kane off, but before the two can get back into it, security swamp the ring and get between them before the music of Theodore Long hits and the Smackdown General Manager makes his way out to the ramp

Long: Now this has got to stop players, you feel me? I can't have two of my top superstars risking life and limb week in week out without just cause. There's money to be made if my players getting into it. That's why I've made the decision that at Tables, Ladders and Chairs the two of you will face one on one in a match that wont be able to end in anything but a decisive victory. A Tables, Ladders and Chairs match! Oh, and Edge, if you think of keeping Paul Bearer locked up much longer, I may just have to reveal my decision.

Edge grins, before picking up the mic at his feet.

Edge: Oh don't worry Teddy, Paul will be back with his twisted son, all tucked up nice, before the night is over...

Without further word, Edge turns and sprints spearing Kane out of his boots! The crowd go wild as the previously parted security guards back Edge out of the ring as his music plays to the look of concern etched across Theodore Long's face.

Cole: What an impact made by Edge here tonight!

Grisham: But is he doing the right thing taunting the World Heavyweight Champion?

Striker: These types of mind-games often have a way of turning sour when the player loses hold of his control. In this case, when Edge is forced to hand Paul Bearer back to The Big Red Monster.

Cole: Well up next, ladies and gentlemen, we have a rematch of Dolph Ziggler's title defence at Survivor Series, this time non-title, when he takes on Kaval!

Non-Title Match

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/DolphZiggler.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/Logos/VS.pnghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/Kaval.jpg

Dolph Ziggler Vs Kaval

The winner of Series Two of NXT cashed in his Pay Per View title match just two weeks before when he chose to take on the Intercontinental Champion. It was, however, a fruitless claim as Ziggler, with the aid of Vicky Guerrero, was able to hang on to the title he so lovingly cherishes. This week, it was seemingly the same. However, the main difference was the sheer volume of offence from Kaval. The World Warrior looked to try and destabilise his efforts at gaining a title match against Ziggler, and whilst Kaval seemed the clear favourite to gain victory, the wild card in Vicky Guerrero once again placed her nose in Ziggler's business. Kaval climbed to the top rope, ready to hit the Warrior's Way, when Vicky climbed to the apron. Her shouts of "Excuse me!" seemed to distract Kaval Long enough for him to lower his foot to the second rope, just inside the ring; time enough for Dolph Ziggler to athletically springboard from the second rope hitting the Zig Zag from the elevated position to get the pinfall victory!

Winner of the match by pinfall, following interference from Vicky Guerrero - Dolph Ziggler

Cole: Another impressive performance by Kaval, but once again he came just short.

Grisham: I'm starting to see the benefits for Dolph Ziggler in this relationship.

Cole: Show some respect, Todd! Vicky Guerrero is a beautiful young woman and any man would be lucky to be with her.

Striker: I heard she has a soft spot for you Michael.

Cole: If I wasn't married, I'd be there in a shot, wait a second guys, it seems as though we have a commotion back stage.

"Oh Father, Where Art Thou?"

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/Kane.jpg

Kane

We head backstage to find a frantic looking Kane storming through the arena, slamming open doors and looking inside.

Kane: EDGE!? FATHER!? EDGE!? WHERE ARE YOU EDGE!? I WILL FIND YOU AND WHEN...

Kane comes across a producer backstage and grips him by the collar, lifting him and slamming him hard against a wall.

Kane: Have you seen my father?

Producer: N... No...

Kane: Have you seen Edge?

Producer: N... No... P... P... Please Kane, I... H... Haven't seen anything...

Kane's jaw clenches noticeably as his eyes close for a moment.

Kane: Then you are of no use to me...

The producer's eyes widen with fear as he is thrown out of shot. There is a loud crunching and the sound of foot steps as an unnamed third man enters the scene. Kane turns and walks away, as the camera pans to a pile of Tables, Ladders and Chairs all lay on top of the producer and the third man, calling for EMT's.

Striker: This is going to far, Michael. Edge's actions are causing serious injury to WWE employees. Something has to be done.

Cole: Well, Edge HAS promised to return Paul Bearer to Kane tonight. And as of yet, I've not seen anything that would tell me that Edge is going to do otherwise.

Grisham: But even Edge has to concede that when innocent staff members are getting crushed under steel and wood, the time for mind-games has to come to an end.

Cole: Perhaps, but maybe we'll get answers later tonight. Ladies and gentlemen, stay with us, we'll be back after a few short messages.

Commercial Break

"A Mexican Stand Off... Redux..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/ReyMysterio.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/AlbertoDelRio.jpg

Rey Mysterio & Alberto Del Rio

Straight from commercial, we head straight backstage to find Josh Matthews standing by.

Matthews: Ladies and gentlemen, at this time, please welcome Rey Mysterio.

The crowd pop for the Master of the 619 as he walks into shot.

Matthews: Rey, over the last few months you've had your problems with Alberto Del Rio, and Survivor Series has left us unsure as to where you stand with the self professed, Mexican Icon.

Mysterio: You know something, Josh? Del Rio broke my wrist, he put me out of action for two months, and since then I've had little more contact with the guy than to watch Big Show knock him out at Survivor Series and having him attack me at Bragging Rights. I'll be honest, I'm way past chasing him round for a match. He's backed off, hidden and avoided me for the last two months. Now? Now I have bigger things to worry about. Like trying to regain the World Heavyweight Championship that I lost at Summerslam and haven't get won back... And I... Argh!

From out of shot, a Steel Chair is swung and connects with Mysterio's lower arm. Mysterio immediately grips his previously injured wrist and turns around into a completely unprotected superkick. Mysterio falls backwards, before Del Rio wraps the chair around Mysterio's wrist and stomps on it hard. Mysterio's cat calls of pain are drowned by Del Rio's howls of laughter.

Del Rio: Just what I was waiting for Rey, just what I was waiting for. You let your guard down, in every sense of the word. Now, you and I will meet. You and I will finally step into the ring with one another. At Tables Ladder's and Chairs, you and I will face in a Chair's match. And I promise you Rey, those "atrocities" you feel I have waged against you in the past will be nothing compared to what I do to you at TLC. Veo que hay, Mysterio.

Cole: Del Rio certainly made an impact here tonight Matt.

Striker: And with Rey looking seriously hurt, we may not have a match later tonight.

Grisham: If I know Rey, I don't think anything will stop him getting his match against Kane tonight, if nothing else to prove himself as a worthy competitor.

Cole: Well I hope so, but before that, let's head to the ring for our next contest.

Regular Singles Match

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/CodyRhodes.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/Logos/VS.pnghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/BigShow.jpg

"Dashing" Cody Rhodes Vs The Big Show

Following confrontations during The Survivor Series match last month, The Big Show has been looking to get "The Dashing One" into the ring for a match-up. Sadly, it would appear that he would have to wait for a real confrontation. Just moment's after the opening bell, Cody Rhodes found himself just inches away from receiving Show's knockout punch. Clearly realising the damage it could do to his perfect face, Rhodes bailed allowing himself to get counted out as he walked away up the ramp.

Winner of the match by count out - The Big Show

Grisham: If I know, Big Show, he wont be happy with the way that match panned out.

Cole: You don't "know" Big Show, I know Big Show, and he would NOT be happy with how that panned out.

Striker: While you ladies decide just who is Big Show's BFF, I think I'm going to listen to what he has to say.

"A Pretty Face, For a Yellow Belly..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/BigShow.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/CodyRhodes.jpg

The Big Show & "Dashing" Cody Rhodes

As Rhodes ascends the rampway, an angry looking Big Show takes a mic from the ring announcer.

Show: Hold on, hold on, hold on... Are you serious? Walking out on this match like some kind of yellow bellied coward? Cody Rhodes, I thought you came from tougher stock than that. I grew up watching your dad take his beatings like a real man, not scoot back up the ramp like a jelly fish. Hell, even in the polka dot shorts your dad showed more balls than you.

The crowd pop for the insult towards Cody's manliness.

Show: I know you consider yourself to be metro sexual, Cody but the gold transvestite over on Raw, has more junk than his baby brother. You know what Rhodes? You'd best keep walking, because this craven streak you've just shown has made me angrier than I ever would have been had you stayed. If I get my hands on you, then your face will be the only part of you they wont be able to identify.

Rhodes, looking angry and slightly ashamed lowers his head and drops his hands from his hips. He turns and walks away, leaving Big Show to salute the

crowd as his music plays.

Cole: Wow, some pretty harsh home truths coming from The Big Show there...

Grisham: And if I'm not mistaken, it looks like Show may have gotten through to Cody.

Striker: The truth hurts Todd, that's sometimes the hardest insult to take.

Cole: We'll back after a few messages from our sponsors.

Commercial Break

"The Sins of the Son, Shall be Laid Upon the Father..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/Kane.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/Edge.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/PaulBearer.jpg

Kane, Edge & Paul Bearer

Having witnessed Rey Mysterio makes his entrance, Kane is the next to come to the ring. Bearing his Championship in hand, Kane makes his way immediately to the ring announcer and takes the mic. Turning back to the rampway, Kane immediately begins to aim his verbal assault at the empty rampway.

Kane: Bring him to me, Edge. Bring him too me now before it's too late... Edge, I know you're back there... Edge, do not ignore me. EDGE! BRING HIM OUT TO ME NOW! GIVE ME BACK MY FAT...

Before Kane can finish his sentence. The image of Edge on the titantron. The close up slowly pans out as Edge speaks...

Edge: Hello Kane. Just thought you should know before your big match that your father is absolutely fine. He's right here, safe and sound with his new best friend Edge. The question is, how long is that the case...

... To reveal Edge, stood atop the production truck with Bearer tied up lay right on the precipice. Edge's foot is perched on him, in perfect position to push him to the concrete below... Kane, seeing his father's peril goes to leave the ring but is cut off.

Edge: Ah, ah, ah... Now that would be stupid Kane. I mean, think about it. Do you really think that you would be able to get back to here before I could just move my foot enough for your father to drop to to the floor. No, I think a much better idea would be for you to wrestle your match. Once I hear the final bell, I will leave. Your father will be safe and sound up here, ready for you to collect.

Kane looks ready to burst with anger.

Edge: Ding, ding...

Cole: And look! Mysterio is on the attack immediately!

Regular Singles Match

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/Kane.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/Logos/VS.pnghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/ReyMysterio.jpg

Kane Vs Rey Mysterio

The actions of Edge clearly were in the mind of the Big Red Machine as even a clearly groggy and hurt looking Rey Mysterio gained an early advantage. Every time Kane seemed to get some space between himself and Rey's onslaught, he failed to attack, merely staggered towards the side of the ring nearest the ramp. This distraction clearly helped Rey as a number of springboard moves took the World Heavyweight Champion down. In the end, the prospect of beating Kane seemed to dwindle as Rey looked tired and hurt, and Kane eventually took control. His mind seemed to snap into focus, realising that a quicker victory would mean quicker access to Paul Bearer. A number of high impact moves, leant Kane to signal for a chokeslam as the crowd popped. Turning to the ramp, Kane saw Edge set up a steel chair flat on the ramp and then disappear backstage. A moment later, he returned, pulling a groggy looking Bearer into view. Placing him on the steel chair, the crowd finally realised what Edge was threatening... A One Man Con-chair-to! Kane, sensing the danger, quickly exited the ring and moved up the ramp as the referee counted. As he slowly moved towards Edge and his father, Edge threatened to drop the chair. Finally, the referee reached his ten count and Kane had been counted out.

Winner of the match by count out - Rey Mysterio

Cole: Come on! Is this just going too far by Edge?

Grisham: He's not done anything yet Cole, but we'll see if he has cruel intentions...

"And The Reunion Begins..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/Edge.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/PaulBearer.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/Kane.jpg

Edge, Paul Bearer & Kane

As Kane continues to forge his slow, pleading path up the rampway. Edge continues to tease dropping the steel chair. The grin on his face almost matches the evil leer that normally adorns that of Kane. As The Big Red Monster edges closer to the only person in the world he cares for as much as himself, Edge slams the chair down! Kane hollas in shock and fear, but the chair merely slams the metal a foot or so beyond Bearer. It is only then Kane realises he is on his knees. Edge bows to Kane, in mock servitude, before turning and beating a hasty retreat. Kane, for a split second, goes to follow, but instead focuses his efforts on gaining help for his fallen father.

Cole: What has Edge done to Paul Bearer? The man is down and out?

Striker: I have no idea Michael, but I'm sure we'll find out

Cole: We'll be back in a few moments ladies and gentlemen, hopefully with an update.

Commercial Break

Cole: Ladies and gentlemen, we have just heard that Paul Bearer was NOT in fact injured at the hands of Edge, but has suffered a quite serious Anxiety attack.

Striker: And I for one, can't blame him. He's been in the hands of a deranged lunatic for weeks!

Cole: Paul Bearer has been accompanied to a local medical facility to get some routine checks, acompanied by his son, Kane. Ladies and gentlemen, we can now head backstage to where Theodore Long is standing by...

"Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm yours..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/TheodoreLong.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/JackSwagger.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/KofiKingston.jpg

Theodore Long, Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston

In his office, Theodore Long is stood addressing the camera.

Long: Ladies and gentlemen, I have an announcement to make as concerns the Intercontinental Championship at Tables, Ladders and Chairs that will be off the hook, ya feel me?

Before Long can continue, the door to his office bursts open as Jack Swagger makes his way inside.

Swagger: Teddy, hey Teddy. What's going on?

Long: What you talking about player?

Swagger: I'm talking about Jack Swagger, the All American, American not being booked on your show. I'm talking about you making Intercontinental Title announcements without telling me what type of match I'm facing Dolph Ziggler in before you tell everyone else. I'm talking about you not showing me the respect, an All American American deserves.

Long smiles, his eyes fixed on Swagger.

Long: Well player, the first part's nice and easy. The Intercontinental Title match at Tables, Ladders and Chairs will be a Ladder match, ya feel me? But as for you being the man to take on Dolph Ziggler. Seeing as you were complaining that you didn't have a match tonight then that's something you're going to need to fight for up next.

Swagger: What!? Against who?

Long: Against him...

Long points over Swagger's shoulder who turns and comes face to face with Kofi Kingston. Kingston smiles and moves close in on Swagger.

Kingston: Boom, boom, boom... See you in the ring, Jack.

Kingston exit's the room, leaving Swagger looking annoyed in the ring.

Cole: Ohhh boy! I can't wait! And it's up next!

Grisham: Let's get this thing started!

Intercontinental Championship Number One Contender's Match

Jack Swagger Vs Kofi Kingston

The match between Swagger and Kingston had indeed been boiling up for weeks before this match had even taken place, yet this times the stakes were so much higher. The winner goes on to face Dolph Ziggler at TLC for the Intercontinental Championship. Kingston, a former Champion and Swagger a former World Heavyweight Champion both seemed anxious to gain a victory. It was, however, the Champion who would have final say in this battle. On the outside of the ring, Kingston and Swagger traded blows as the referee counted. As he got to six, Kingston managed to hit Trouble in Paradise on Swagger leaving him down and out. However, as the referee continued to count and Kingston slowly dragged himself up, Vicky Guerrero was once again at ringside. She climbed to the apron and stopped the count at seven whilst Dolph Ziggler nailed the Zig Zag on Kofi on the outside. When Vicky dropped off the apron, the referee saw Ziggler stood between the two fallen men and called for the bell. An immidiate Double Disqualification.

Following a double disualification, the match was deemed to be a draw.

Striker: What a smart move! No Number One contender means no defence.

Grisham: Come on! Ziggler can't want to hold on to the belt like that!

Cole: By any means neccessary, Todd. By any means necessary...

Theodore Long, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston & Jack Swagger

As Cole speaks, he's cut off by the sound of Theodore Long's music as the General Manager makes his way out to the rampway. He grins at Swagger, mic in hand before lifting it to his mouth

Long: Dolph, you're nothing if not predictable player. In fact, I pre-empted your move before you even knew there was a move to make. Had Mr. Swagger not interrupted me earlier, he would have found out just like all three of you are now. At TLC, you will defend your championship player, against BOTH Jack Swagger AND Kofi Kingston in a Triple Threat Ladder Match. Dolph, I hope you're ready player, because if not I sense a new Intercontinental Champion. You feel me?

Long's music plays again as Vicky goes crazy screaming up the ramp. A just woken Kofi clearly looks happier with the outcome to this match than either Dolph or Swagger.

Cole: What a match we've just heard! A Triple Threat Ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship!

Grisham: Ziggler looks like he's just got his comeuppance!

Striker: What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, Todd. And this match, will make Ziggler a stronger Champion.

Cole: After this next commercial break, we have tonight’s Main Event. Alberto Del Rio, taking on the Rated "R" Superstar, Edge!

Commercial Break

"An Age Old Fued..."

Alberto Del Rio

After making his way to the ring, Alberto Del Rio takes the mic and grins widely at the fans. They rain down a chorus of boos upon him, but he cleary shrugs them off.

Del Rio: You poor, misguided fools. You boo me as if I am the bad guy in our story. But the truth is, not one of you KNOW the truth. I, Alberto Del Rio, descendent from a long line of Mexican Champions that have been stabbed in the back by the family of your hero "Little" Rey. You see, not one of you understands what my father and my grandfather had to go through back on the streets of Mexico having to deal with Mysterio treachery. This goes so much deeper than wrestling, so much deeper than jealousy. I merely have done to Rey Mysterio, what he would have eventually done to me. It was written, because he is a Mysterio and I am a Del Rio. This time, however, the Mysterio's do not have the upper hand.

Del Rio grins one more time.

Del Rio: I do... And at TLC, I swear to my forefathers that I will seek to destroy Rey Mysterio in their name, and when I do. They will all smile upon me as the saviour of their honour... I am Alberto Del Rio, and I will have veng...

Before Del Rio can finish, he is cut of by a huge pop and the music of Edge.

Cole: Do we think that could be true? That Del Rio is merely defending his family honour?

Grisham: I have bo idea Cole, but whatever it is, this is getting more and more personal

Main Event Singles Match

Alberto Del Rio Vs Edge

This match would have been expected to eventually be for the World Heavyweight Championship. Alas, we have it early and it is indeed a treat as both men worked hard to gain a victory. Del Rio looked strong against the multi-time World Champion, and looked destined to gain a semblance of victory. However, it was Edge who took control and, with Edge lining up a Spear, the lights went out. When they returned, the referee was unconscious and Kane stood in the centre of the ring. Edge, momentarily startled, sprinted at Kane for a Spear as the lights went out again. When they came back, Edge was on the ground locked in Del Rio's armbar! The crowds jeers turned to boos as suddenly, Rey Mysterio was at ringside. A springboard leg drop later and Del Rio had released the hold. Slowly staggering to his feet, Del Rio turned into a huge Spear from Edge! Mysterio woke the referee just in time to count the three.

Winner of the match by pinfall - Edge

Cole: That was no way for Edge to win! He had an assist!

Grisham: Are you serious? Did you miss Kane's moment in this match?

Striker: All he did was appear in the ring, he didn't put his hands on a competitor like Rey.

Grisham: The lights were out! You have no idea if... Wait, hold on!

"You will Burn in Hell for Your Sins..."

Kane & Edge

The lights go out again cutting Grisham off, and when they return, Kane is stood over a fallen Edge with a gasoline can in hand. An eerie silence fills the arena as Kane pours the fuel over his fallen adversary. Edge coughs and splutters into life and looks up at Kane, clearly smelling the gas covering him from head to toe. He starts to back away across the ramp, but leaves a clear trail behind. From inside his trunks, Kane pulls a lighter and flicks the flame on. Fear in the arena is almost tangible as Edge pleads with his larger opponent. Finally, just as Kane drops to one knee to light the fuel, security flood the ring and wrestle Kane back. He tries to throw the lighter, but one of the guards stops his arm and it drops to the ground. Edge, sensing his chance, escapes the ring. His face is pale, clearly frightened over what almost happened to him. Kane smiles, ominously, as Edge backs up the arena.

Grisham: I can't believe Kane tried to burn Edge alive...

Striker: Hell hath no fury like a Big Red Monster scorned...

Ladies and gentlemen, what will the repercussions be next week after Kane's attempted heinous act. We'll see you next time, thank you for joining us on WWE Smackdown!

Within a few minutes of back and forth, Teddy Long made a match between the two a TLC match at the Pay Per View. He then ordered Edge to hand Paul Bearer back over to Kane. A good start to the show, got the match down for TLC giving a few weeks to build. I enjoyed</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/90.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Dolph Ziggler Vs Kaval</span></strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> See, this is where booking in the WWE often didn’t make sense. Kaval lost at Survivor Series, why did he need to lose again tonight? I know Dolph Ziggler is getting a push but to relegate Kaval from Ziggler challenger to easy win for Dolph was sad. It was a good match I just don’t see what future Kaval would have. Such a shame, he was the breakout star of NXT season 2.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/71.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Oh Father Where Art Thou?</span></strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> The second of many Kane/Edge based spots on the show. In fairness I can understand the problem. With Taker out, Kane and Edge are holding the Main Event fold on their own. They need to fix this roster issue and quick. Basically, Kane was looking for Edge, and in the process beat down a backstage worker. It was typical scary Kane stuff. What I did like about the segment was that the many he attacked ended up covered in tables, ladders and chairs… Very clever.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/80.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">A Mexican Standoff… Redux</span></strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong> </strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> A solid idea but not very well executed. Although I have to admit, I enjoyed this segment. Kane played the wallowing son, trying to get his dear old daddy back. Edge played the protagonist. This was carefully played with Edge not actually physically assaulting Bearer, just trying to get in Kane’s head. The threat of attack is often worse than the attack itself. I learnt that from Le Chiffre in Casino Royale… James Bond rules.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/88.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Rey Mysterio Vs Kane</span></strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> This was more of a match than I expected after the attack by Del Rio. I’ll be honest, Rey was impressive against the big man. In fact, some of his best matches have been against people who are much stronger than him. Their body strength make moves more impressive. The story of the match was that Kane was distracted which made Mysterio’s injuries moot. Of course it didn’t last, Kane snapped into focus and just when he was about to win, Edge set up a Conchairto on Bearer at the top of the ramp. Kane went to save his father and got counted out </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/78.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">And the Reunion begins</span></strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> Edge teased and teased hitting Bearer with the chair. What was strange was that Bearer didn’t move, even though he was no longer tied up. He didn’t protest or anything, he seemed to be out cold. Maybe Edge went to far? I don’t know, but in the end Edge’s chair shot hit the steel and Kane dropped to his knees thinking his father had been hurt. A good segment, Edge turned the other cheek and allowed Bearer to go unharmed despite the odd unconciousness. That was explained away later as an anxiety attack. Kane had gone to the hospital with his father to look after him. Strange, didn’t think Big Red Monsters did nursing.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/81.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours…</span></strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> Teddy Long was looking to make an announcement as regards the Intercontinental Championship when Swagger made his entrance complaining about not being booked. Long solved the problem by saying the winner of Swagger and Kofi would get a title shot in a ladder match against Ziggler. Swagger is excellent at playing the big talker, he talks like he’s a superhuman but still gets scared of facing a guy whose much smaller. Kofi was calmer than usual, his “boom, boom, boom” was slow and considered as if this was his “destiny.” Good segment</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/80.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Kofi Kingston Vs Jack Swagger</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> This was a much better match than I’ve marked it down for, and I’ll give my reason at the end of the show. Kingston and Swagger went tooth and nail for a good seven or eight minutes until Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler got involved. I assume the point was that if Ziggler cost them both the match then there would be no No. 1 contender. I get it, I just don’t agree with him needing to be involved</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/68.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Cheaters Never Prosper</span></strong></span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong> </strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> Tadahhhhh! He announced a triple threat ladder match at TLC and told Dolph that his evil plans wouldn’t work. I love Vickie when she’s being crossed, she plays angry so well. Swagger did his “fear” look and Dolph looked aggrieved. Only Kofi seemed happy with this booking… I mean ONLY, because I wasn’t. As a segment it was fine, well performed. I just think it was overthought as a concept that’s all.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/82.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">An Age Old Fued</span></strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> I love Alberto Del Rio, I really do… I just wish he was more over as a heel. The fans don’t like him, but they don’t want to see him ruthfully beaten to a pulp. I’m sure in Mexico his effergy is being burnt in the streets for his attack on Rey Mysterio but in the US we’re struggling to care. It was a good promo, and I like the story. That will, indeed, help the fued; I just hope the fans get behind him soon or he’s likely to be swallowed whole. </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/69.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Edge Vs Alberto Del Rio</span></strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> Ironically, his ring work is getting over. His mannerisms get him boos, and I think it helped with the quality of opponent in this match. Edge looked good out there, he looked sharp and healthier than he has in a while. Del Rio looked to get his armbar on in every way possible, it was just too hard. I enjoyed Kane’s brief interruption, and I also liked Mysterio evening the score. Edge got the win and Del Rio came out looking strong. Good booking.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/86.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><strong><em>You will burn in Hell for your sins</em></strong></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> And then the show took a more sinister turn. It was, in fact, a more sinister turn than the WWE had taken since the start of the PG era. Kane’s role as the menacing monster was better than ever here as he doused a terrified looking Edge in fuel. I loved the booking, sometimes faces are booked over heels as the avenging angels too much. Sometimes the heel does terrify the face in movies, but the face has got to fight past the fear to win the day. It was refreshing to see.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/88.jpg</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:Impact;"><span style="font-size:18px;">Overall Rating </span></span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></span><span>http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TCDaveW/78.jpg</span></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> Similar rating to Raw because they were both very good shows. My problem with Smackdown, and this leads to my problem with the Swagger/Kingston match, was that the three middle matches all ended with count outs of DQ’s. By the Swagger/Kingston match end, I was burnt out not seeing a finish involving pinfall or submission. Had it not been for all the screwy finishes, I think I would have enjoyed this show even more.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> Smackdown, as expected, has the better matches, but Raw has the better segments. They have talkers, entertainers and popular workers on Raw. Even with The Undertaker and Christian back, I think that they have the split bang on. Wrestling on the blue brand, action and entertainment on the red side.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Century Gothic';"> Thanks for reading ladies and gentlemen, I'll be back with you next week with another edition of The Rockferry Report!</span></p>

Michael Cole, Jerry "The King" Lawler & CM Punk

Raw begins with a quick recap of the previous weeks events, including the moment The Miz and Alex Riley put Randy Orton through a table last week.

Cole: What a fantastic night we have tonight in store tonight live from the home of CM Punk, Chicago Illinois! Hello everyone, I'm Michael Cole the VOICE of the WWE here with Jerry "The King" Lawler and CM Punk.

Punk: And how good it is to be home, Michael. The Windy City has once again called to me and brought me back. Speaking of wind, let me pass on to Jerry Lawler.

Lawler: Hilarious Punk, you know, if you were any less funny you'd be a prime candidate for Michael Cole's job

Cole: Pot, kettle King? And to start the show, here is the Number one contender to the WWE Championship.

Match Made, Destiny Written

The Miz, Randy Orton, Michael Cole & The Anonymous Raw General Manager

Music drowned out by a huge ovation, "The Viper" Randy Orton stalks his way down to the ring, his eyes focused and intense, his jaw set as climbs into the ring and takes the mic.

Orton: I'm not going to waste anyone’s time, I'll just get right to the point. Last week, Miz, you did something that, for the rest of your pathetic excuse of a life, you will constantly regret. Not selecting the Table's match stipulation, but putting me through a table. You see, I'd given you a semblance of respect for cashing in your Money in the Bank shot when you did, I'd even applauded you for it. I had no malice towards you, because I would have done exactly the same thing myself. In fact, had things been left as they were I would have just taken back my Championship and left you be. Now? Now you've made things personal, when you put me through that table last week you made a statement of intent and now, now I shall make mine. At TLC, I'm not just looking to take back my title, I'm going to take your career. No business, all personal...

AWESOME!!!!!! The piercing sound of The Miz's voice floods through the arena as his music hits. The WWE Champion makes his way out onto the ramp adorned in his usual style of suit and WWE Gold. Behind him follows Alex Riley, wearing a suit of his own, although not quite the quality of his mentors. Mic in hand, Miz smirks at Orton in the ring.

Miz: Really? Really? I made this personal Orton? Really? You've got to be KIDDING me... Do you think this wasn't personal the moment you ruined my celebration last week? Do you think this wasn't personal the moment you staked a claim for my title. You've got a very, very skewed way of looking at life Orton. In fact, I'm the only one who sees the world in the right way. You and everyone else think that I'm not worthy of holding this title, but I know the truth. I know that I'm the ONLY ONE worthy of holding this title!

Orton: You keep talking Miz, because that's what you do best is talk. What I do best, is hurt people; especially people who have wronged me. In 2 weeks at TLC, I will hurt you. Make no bones about it...

DING DING! The pre-emptive boos kick in as Michael Cole climbs from his seat to the podium.

Cole: If I can have your attention please, I have received an email from the Anonymous Raw General Manager...

The crowd jeer and hiss at Cole as he readies himself.

Cole: And I quote... Miz, Orton. I can see the heat rising between the two of you already; it should make for an incredible match at TLC; but TLC is still two weeks away. Tonight, I've got something a little more interesting in-store for the both of you; tonight, you make the matches. For the first time since I took over Monday Night Raw, we're going to have Pick Your Poison. For those of you who don't know, Randy Orton shall select The Miz's opponent for his match tonight, and The Miz will pick the opponent for Randy Orton. You do, however, run a risk. If you make the wrong choice, you could find your opponent at TLC coming out of this night in a much more confident position than they were before. Gentlemen, the choice is yours.

Cole steps back from his podium and smiles in The Miz's direction as Orton and The Miz stare at one another. Eventually, The Miz raises his WWE title in the air and his music plays out

Punk: Well that was interesting, I can see a couple of mouth watering matches later on tonight.

Lawler: Orton and Miz need to make sure they pick the right opponents, this is a great chance to put a hurting on your opponent before that big match.

Cole: I can't wait to see these matches... Miz embarrassing Orton, and Miz's pure intelligence. Let's head to the ring for our first match.

Regular Singles Match

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/WilliamRegal.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/Logos/VS.pnghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/JohnMorrison.jpg

William Regal Vs John Morrison

Monday Night Raw once again begins with a fantastic battle, this week between differing styles. Morrison's smash mouth, high octane impact style taking on Regal's chain wrestling mantra. Not quite as mouth watering as the previous weeks battle between Daniel Bryan and William Regal, but still a fantastic contest. Regal, once again, took the fight to his more high speed opponent. It was, however, Morrison who took the victory with a tremendous series of moves. Regal looked to hit his overhead, half nelson suplex, only to find Morrison land on his feet, rebound and hit a springboard kick to the head. The passage of action saw Morrison hit the Starship Pain to get the pinfall.

Winner of the match by pinfall - John Morrison

Cole: A fanastic showing by both men, William Regal kept pace with the much younger Morrison for the longest part of this match.

Punk: In the end, the speed was just too much.

Lawler: John Morrison is so impressive, Cole. It's only a matter of time before he's aiming for the WWE Championship.

Cole: And when he does, he'll be taking on the current WWE Champion, The M... Wait, what's this...

"An Irish Curse Upon Ya Soul..."

Sheamus & Morrison

The music of the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus, plays as he makes his way out onto the ramp. He stands, smiling down, his eyes fixed upon Morrison who was now back on his feet.

Sheamus: Congratulations fella, I always knew ya had it in ya. Ya beat up a forty year old man who last week lost to Daniel Bryan. Kudos to ya for that impressive victory.

Sheamus' taunts seem not to phase Morrison who, genuinely, respects the efforts of his opponent, William Regal.

Sheamus: Last week, fella, you and I agreed to meet once more at TLC, a night where Tables, Ladders and Chairs reign supreme. But not for you and me. You and me, we're goin' old school. We're goin' all out to win in a match that yer man in the ring there can respect. A normal, everyday match. Some would say that limits just what I could do to ya, some would say that I don't have the chance to put the hurtin' on ya that I so want to. But I disagree, I think it will give me the perfect opportunity to show the world just how dangerous I can be even when I'm confined to the rules and regulations of that ring. Think about it, fella; imagine just how much they will fear me when I break you using no more than me own hands. When you lay on the ground, eyes facing the ceiling, wondering just what it was that made ya think ya had what it took to stand toe ta toe wit me, just think what those boys in the back will think. My destruction of you will be testament to just how dangerous the Celtic Warrior truly is.

Without further word, Sheamus grins as his music plays. For the first time, Morrison looks worried, as if Sheamus' threats truly mean his distruction

Cole: Strong words from a strong competitor.

Lawler: And a worried looking Morrison, Cole, the look in Sheamus' eyes was terrifying.

Punk: I can't wait for their match in a couple of weeks, it's going to be a decimation of John Morrison!

Cole: Unless he can find a way to combat the dangerous Sheamus, it could just be. Ladies and gentlemen, we'll be back after this short break.

Commercial Break

We return from commercial and head straight backstage.

"I Have An Idea For You..."

The Miz, Alex Riley & Wade Barrett

We head backstage to find The Miz, carrying his WWE Title, walking with Alex Riley. Riley has, in his hand, a list that is apparently the WWE Roster, The Miz on the other hand is smiling.

Riley: ... But do you think he would have enough time to get here? And do you think he would do it? I mean, he is the World Heavyweight Champion?

Miz: I don't know if he would, but I know he could. He's the REAL Phenom on Smackdown, and if anyone can get here in time it's him.

Riley: Shall I... Well... I mean, how exactly DO we contact a guy whose, you know... A little off the charts?

Miz: No idea, I'm not sure he has a cell phone. How about his dad, I mean that guys weird but he's got to be connected some...

Voice: Miz! I wanna talk to you.

Stopping in his tracks right before his locker room, The Miz meets eyes with Wade Barrett, stood, waiting outside. Riley steps forward, in front of The Miz.

Riley: Back off Barrett, you and your Nexus punks best stay clear of the WWE Champion.

Barrett: Call off your lapdog, Miz, or I'll have my boys here and all over him in a shot. He'll be no use for you in the ER, now will he?

The Miz leans forward and presses a hand on Riley's shoulder. A-Ri takes the hint and steps back, just behind The Miz.

Miz: What do you want Barrett? What could you want to talk to the WWE Champion about?

Barrett smiles, his eyes focused clearly on those of the Awesome-One.

Barrett: I have an idea for you; a proposal if you will. Something that I think could quite clearly benefit both of us.

Miz: I'm listening...

Barrett: Not here, this is a little too exposed. May we discuss it inside your locker room?

This Miz pauses for a moment, seemingly weighing up the possibility that this could be a trap.

Barrett: Miz, if the Nexus had wanted to destroy you we would have done it thirty seconds ago, not coax you into a small room to do it behind closed doors. Please, just a moment of your time.

Finally, the battle seems to be won, as The Miz gestures towards the locker room door. Both head inside, closely followed by Alex Riley

Lawler: What was that about Cole? Was this about the Pick Your Poison match tonight?

Cole: I would guess so, but what could Barrett have to do with that?

Punk: Maybe he's looking to offer the services of The Nexus; taking out The Undertaker, and then Randy Orton tonight before Cena at TLC? Seems like just the kind of thing The Nexus would do.

Cole: Prehaps, but now is not the time for answers. Let us head back to the ring for our next match.

Non-Title Tag Team Match

The Nexus Vs Santino & Kozlov

Leaving their leader in the locker room of the WWE Champion, the former WWE Tag Team Champions, The Nexus faced off against the current Champions in Santino and Kozlov. The Champions worked well together, although Kozlov's demeanour seemed less than interested in the outcome of the match. Santino played out the majority of the match taking his beating well from both Slater and Gabriel. It was, when all hope seemed to have gone, Santino rolled out of the way of the 450 splash, Gabriel landing hard on his stomach. The crowd called for it, beckoned for it and got it. The hot tag brought Kozlov to the ring. He cleaned house, much to the happiness of the crowd as one by one he destroyed Slater and Gabriel over and over. He managed to hit his choke spine buster on both men and calle dout with a primal rage. His eyes met Santino's before blatantly choking Gabriel. Finally, after reaching the count of five, the referee had no choice but to call for the bell and disqualify Kozlov.

Winners of the match by Disqualification - The Nexus

Cole: What was Kozlov thinking? He had the WORLD in his hands, the victory in his grasp and he threw it away.

Lawler: The look in Kozlov's eyes was the same as he had when he debuted. When he wanted nothing more than to hurt people.

Punk: I remember that look as well, I felt that look. I think exciting times could be ahead for Vladamir Kozlov.

Cole: I don't think Santino is happy with that loss though.

"What are you adoing Kozlovs?"

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/VladimirKozlov.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/SantinoMarella.jpg

Vladamir Kozlov & Santino Marella

As The Nexus leave the ring, hurt and broken, Vladimir Kozlov stands central in the ring, dominant. His partner, however, steps back to the ring. He circles his partner for a moment, garnering no reaction, as he, without a microphone questions his partner.

Santino: Kozlovs? What are you a doing Kozlovs? Why did you do that thing you did Kozlovs? Are you alistening to me? Kozlovs? Why did you make us losed? Why did you do that? You could have awinned the matches! Kozlovs? Are you listening to me?

Santino prods Kozlov in his shoulder. Marella's eyes widen as Kozlov's head snaps in his direction. He immediately backs the Milan Miracle into the corner where he begins to try and talk his way out of the predicament.

Santino: Of courses, it was the rights thing to do! You were completely corrects, Kozlovs. I will never be doubting you again. A moments of weaknesses, a moment of insanities Kozlovs... Please...

Without word, Kozlov seemingly offers a repreive for his partner, as he turns and walks away, his music blaring out over the speakers.

Punk: I think Santino avoided a severe beat down there, Michael.

Cole: I think Santino avoided a trip to the Emergency Room.

Lawler: Just what is going on with Kozlov? He's a loose cannon.

Cole: Either way, I think we need to be very careful when Kozlov's out here.

"That idea... Is AWESOME..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/WadeBarrett.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/TheMiz.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/AlexRiley.jpg

Wade Barrett, The Miz & Alex Riley

We head backstage once more to the locker room of The Miz as the door swings open. From inside, a grinning Wade Barrett strides and turns back to face it. For a moment, the others inside are unseen, leading to a brief consideration that maybe The Miz and A-Ri have indeed been attacked. That thought is all too quickly extinguished as the Awesome-One and his apprentice stroll out.

Barrett: I'm glad we could come to... Some arrangement Miz.

Miz: I have to admit, I was a little sceptical at making deals with The Nexus, but that idea is just like me...

Riley: Awesome!

The two men shake hands for a moment before The Miz looks up into Barrett's face again.

Miz: Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a match to win.

Miz smiles and walks away with Alex Riley in toe.

Cole: And it looks as if Miz and Barrett have come to some kind of understanding.

Lawler: This doesn't look good for Orton.

Punk: Where the Nexus is involved, it rarely looks good for anybody.

Cole: Stay where you are, ladies and gentlemen, The Miz Vs Randy Orton's pick, after thos short break

Commercial Break

We return from commercial and head straight to the ring.

"The Viper's Venom is Poison enough..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/TheMiz.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/RandyOrton-1.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/DanielBryan.jpg

The Miz, Randy Orton & Daniel Bryan

The Miz makes his way out to the ring for his match with Alex Riley in tow. He climbs into the ring and leans back against the ropes, waiting for his TLC opponent to announce his decision. Finally, the music of Randy Orton hits and he makes his way out onto the ramp.

Orton: Miz, before I make my announcement as to who, exactly, your opponent is for tonight I want you to realise one thing. I am VERY good at Pick Your Poison. Earlier this year, I picked The Undertaker to face Edge right here on Monday Night Raw, and for a moment I considered exactly the same thing. I considered letting the Dead-man take you to the learning tree. Alas, I decided to go further back into my past to select your opponent tonight. Back in 2004, I had to choose an opponent for Triple H. When I was considering who he should take on, I decided to pick an opponent that was technically better than Triple H, and a man who The Game had never beaten. Tonight? I've decided to do exactly the same thing to you. Tonight, Miz, you take on a man who is technically better than you in every way, and a man you have never beaten.

The Miz furrows his brow, clearly not unsure as to who his opponent would be. That is, until the music of one Daniel Bryan hits. Bryan makes his way out to the ring, his eyes focused on his former NXT Mentor. Sliding into the ring he stands opposite Miz, ready for the match to begin.

Lawler: What's the matter Cole? You look like you've seen a ghost? Like, perhaps, The Miz has finally met an opponent he can't better?

Cole: Don't be ridiculous King, I just think it's unfair that The Miz had no time to prepare.

Punk: Met his match or not, Daniel Bryan has a fantastic opportunity to take on the WWE Champion tonight.

Cole: It's just a shame that he's going to waste it.

Pick Your Poison Non-Title Match

The Miz Vs Daniel Bryan

For once, The Miz was able to use his size advantage in a match as he took on the smaller, yet more technically gifted Daniel Bryan in this Pick Your Poison contest. The history between the two was clear to see as both Daniels and The Miz looked to cause pain on every opportunity. Bryan used his fast feet and hard shots to good use as he managed to welt up the body of the WWE Champion, while the Miz used an excellent brawling style that seemed to catch everyone for surprise. Miz, seemingly had the match won when a good series of moves ended with him stood behind a groggy Daniel Bryan readying himself for the Skull Crushing Finale! As he locked it in, Bryan seemed to come to life, managing to reverse the move and lock in the LeBell Lock! The crowd go wild as The Miz lifts his hand to tap, yet A-Ri is on the apron. The referee's attention is taken away from the lock as The Miz taps. Within a moment, the crowds cheers turn to boos as Ted Dibiase is in the ring. Dragging Bryan off The Miz, he hits a huge Dream Street on his TLC opponent. He pulls Miz over Bryan and vacates the ring as Riley drops from the apron.

Winner of the match by pinfall following interuption by Ted Dibiase - The Miz

Lawler: Oh come on! Bryan was screwed! Can The Miz not win ANY match without help from someone else!?

Cole: He's a fighter King, you can't deny that. He has heart and spirit and...

Lawler: Heart? He tapped out in thirty seconds! If Riley hadn't gotten involved, The Miz would have lost to "that nerd" Daniel Bryan... Again!

Punk: When you're a champion in the WWE you do what you have to do to keep the belt. You'd know that if you'd ever been a Champion here Jerry.

Cole: Ha ha! He told you King! Wait, silence! The Miz has something to say.

"I have the antidote..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/TheMiz.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/RandyOrton-1.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/JohnCena.jpg

The Miz, Randy Orton & John Cena

The Miz takes a moment to compose himself, momentarily helped to maintain a vertical base by A-Ri, before taking the mic and talking.

Miz: You... Must think... You're so smart Orton. I know, I know... It was a good idea. Make The Miz fight one of the only men he's never beaten. Yes, it was a good idea. Problem? I'M JUST TOO GOOD! But me? I always have the better ideas... In fact, I have to admit the idea was put to me by one Wade Barrett, but I still made the final decision. It's a decision that will benefit both myself and Wade Barrett. And that is why tonight, in the Main Event, Randy Orton you will take on... John Cena! I hope you enjoy your fight gentlemen. That Main Event would be so much easier to swallow if either of you were me, because I'm THE MIZ! And I'm... AWESOME!

The Miz's music plays him out as he stands with his arms outstretched. Riley hands him the WWE Championship and they both leave the ring.

Cole: What a Main Event! I can't believe it!

Lawler: What he lacks in guts, he makes up for with brains.

Punk: You need to be careful King, The Miz might just take exception to your words and do something about it.

Cole: I hope he does, and if he did, you'd deserve it King! Ladies and gentlemen, we'll be right back after some messages from our sponsors.

Commercial Break

Returning from commercial, we head backstage where Josh Matthews is standing by.

"A Challange Greater Than Any Before..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/JoshMathews.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/JohnCena.jpg

Josh Matthews & John Cena

Matthews: Ladies and gentlemen, joining me at this time, John Cena.

Cena makes his way into shot and, as normal, is met with a hugely mixed reaction.

Matthews: John, the last few months have been really difficult for you. Since The Nexus made their début, they've attacked and beat you down, they've taken your career and now, they've started to get other WWE Superstars to do their dirty work, with The Miz placing you in a match with Randy Orton tonight

Cena: You know Josh, once upon a time you would have been introducing me as WWE Champion, John Cena. You would have been announcing that tonight this would be a huge opportunity for Randy Orton to stake his claim for my WWE Championship. Instead, what we have as a situation created by our Anonymous General Manager, manipulated by Wade Barrett and utilized by The Miz. What we have here tonight are two men who have a path to follow, a very separate path, a path that leads them to two very differing goals. Me? Making sure The Nexus get's exactly what they deserve and ending the group as we know it. Randy Orton? Winning the WWE Championship back from The Miz. Tonight, those paths have been rerouted through one another. And whilst we both know that eventually, we'll both be back on that same journey, one or even both of us are about to hit a very sticky road bump. Now everyone knows Randy and I have history. Seeing as I'm going with the travelling and journey metaphors, we've never been on a road trip, never stayed at a run down dirty motel, head back out on the interstate and drove the highways of this country together. But what we do have is a healthy respect. We do our best not to cut one another up on the free-way, we try our best to avoid bumps and we never, ever steal one another’s car... I don't know where I'm going with this... My point is, Randy and I don't hate each other as much as we used to, because we have much more important people to hate. Wade, you may think you're smart suggesting this match tonight and I have to admit that it was a good choice. But you have to realise that nothing Randy and I do to each other will even compare to what I'm going to do to the Nexus... That, my friend, is a guarentee.

Cena smiles and pats Josh hard on his back before turning and walking away.

Cole: Orton could be in trouble tonight, Cena looks hyped up.

Punk: I don't know about Cena being fired up, but Orton looks like he wanted to destory The Miz earlier tonight.

Lawler: Eitherway, I can see fireworks before this night is out.

Cole: I hope so, ladies and gentlemen, lLet's head back to the ring for some more action.

Regular Singles Match

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/WadeBarrett.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/Logos/VS.pnghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/R-Truth.jpg

Wade Barrett Vs R-Truth

As per the MO of The Nexus, Wade Barrett was not alone during his match with R-Truth on Raw. The Manchester Mauler as he has become known, seemed early on not to need an help what-so-ever, as he took the fight to Truth. The power and ability of Wade Barrett was almost enough to overcome Truth without much help. It was, however, at the moment in which Barrett looked to know his opponent out with Wasteland, that he was shaken. A reversal of the move and a number of quick shots later had Barrett in position to receive the Scissor Kick. As the referee was distracted by Slater and Gabriel, however, McGuillicutty was on hand to pull the top rope down causing Truth to land hard on the outside. Husky Harris then hit the Running Senton before David Otunga rolled Truth back inside the ring. Barrett hit the Wasteland and the referee made the three count.

Winner of the match by pinfall following interference from The Nexus - Wade Barrett

Cole: Wade Barrett steals this match up! He has the momentum heading into TLC.

Lawler: The sooner this Nexus group is destroyed the better, they have no class.

Punk: Class or not, I don't think they've finished with R-Truth.

"A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/WadeBarrett.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/DavidOtunga.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/HeathSlater.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/HuskyHarris.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/JustinGabriell.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/JoeHennig.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/R-Truth.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/JohnCena.jpg

The Nexus, R-Truth & John Cena

As R-Truth is laid out in the ring, unconscious, The Nexus align beside Wade Barrett who holds a mic in his hand. Wade grins from ear to ear at his victory, his destruction of this mere mortal in front of him. Finally, when the boos subside, Barrett lifts the mic to his lips.

Barrett: Cena, tonight you have witnessed the full and unbearable power of the Nexus. Not only do we have the skill and ability to destroy anyone set in front of us, but we also have the mental prowess to turn any situation to our advantage. Tonight, you face Randy Orton, one of the WWE's most formidable performers. Tonight, Randy Orton could finish the job before I even get started. Then again, at TLC, I could be the man who beat the man who beat Randy Orton. This is win-win for me Cena! You, on the other hand, are not so fortunate. You see, tonight you get to feel the bite of the Viper, and at TLC you get to feel the sting of a steel chair... In fact, I think we'll have a little demonstration right now... Nexus...

The remaining members of The Nexus surround R-Truth as he slowly begins to wake. The situation begins to dawn on him, looking around, his eyes start to dart from member to member, until they finally fall on Wade Barrett returning to the circle with a steel chair in hand. He backs up but ends up at the feet of Harris and McGillicutty. Barrett calls to them to pull him up... And then the crowd go wild. No music, no big fanfare, just John Cena sprinting to the ring. Sliding inside, he swings the chair wildly scattering The Nexus without touching a single one. Finally he turns, Barrett swings his chair and Cena does the same. Cena's power is clearly greater as Barrett's chair shoots from his hands and outside of the ring. Barrett clearly begins to protest, before finally he backs out of the ring. Cena continues to stand, looking intense as The Nexus back up the ramp.

Cole: Cena made a great save there, R-Truth was in a lot of trouble

Lawler: If he hadn't, then it would have been lights out for Truth.

Punk: I can't say that would be a big loss, Truth has little to offer in my opinion.

Cole: Ladies and gentlemen, we'll be back after some short messages.

Commericial Break

"Motivation... In The Unconventional Way..."

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/TedDiBiase.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/Maryse.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/DanielBryan.jpg

Ted Dibiase, Maryse & Daniel Bryan

Backstage, Dibiase and Maryse are talking in hushed tones as the door to their locker room bursts open. Daniel Bryan makes his way in and directs his stride towards Dibiase. It is, however, Maryse that stands in his way.

Maryse: Who in the hell do you think you are walking in here? What exactly is it you think you're going to do? Tu n'es rien par rapport à Ted, vous êtes un peu nerd pathétique et dans une seconde je vais claquer des doigts et il vous détruira. Sortez de ce vestiaire avant de vous blesser gravement vous petit monstre.

Dibiase: Maryse, hold on a second. Bryan, think about this. You honestly think in this environment you're in control? You're a ring technician, not a brawler. Earlier tonight was just a taste of what I can do, in a second I can end you. In a moment I can take you down, I can take you out and I can leave you laying. That Championship that you parade around with is mine for the taking, and I will take it. There's nothing, and I mean nothing, that you can do to stop me. Look at earlier tonight, in a MOMENT I stopped you in your tracks. I'll do it again, this Sunday at TLC.

Maryse: Nerd...

Bryan's anger turns to a smile, he turns his head to Maryse, away from Dibiase.

Bryan: Thank you; that was just what I needed to hear...

Bryan turns away, leaving the room, and Dibiase and Maryse with it.

Cole: I think Maryse was right! Bryan is a Nerd!

Lawler: Nerd or not, that was a stern warning from Bryan.

Punk: Looks to me like he was threatening a woman. I don't know how "tough" that really makes Daniel Bryan.

Cole: That's right, I think it was a dispicable act. Ladies and gentlemen, up next is out Main Event. Randy Orton taking on John Cena.

Main Event

Randy Orton Vs John Cena

Whenever these two names meet, whatever the circumstances maybe, it is a big deal. The two men made their entrances, Cena's was more harsh than that of Randy Orton. As normal, neither man could ever be accused of giving anything less than one hundred percent. This match is no different; Orton and Cena went all out to give The Miz and Barrett what they wanted. An all out, knock down, drag down brawl as neither man looked to give an inch. During a passage of action in which both men reversed a number of one another’s moves, ending with an Attitude Adjustment in which Orton landed on his feet and an RKO reversed into a push into the ropes. Cena hit a drop toe hold and locked in the STF. Before he even had it locked in, he'd let go. Jumping to his feet, within moments, Orton had realised why. Down the ramp sprints The Miz, A-Ri and The Nexus! Cena meets the Six members of The Nexus on the outside and, immediately the referee throws out the match.

Match declared a draw due to Interference

Cole: This is about to break down!

Lawler: This could be huge!

Punk: Bring on the violence!

The Miz, Alex Riley, Randy Orton, The Nexus & John Cena

At the end of this match, it had immediately became clear what the deal between The Miz and the Nexus was. The systematic and detailed destruction of the WWE's two biggest stars. The problem? Neither Cena nor Orton wanted to be systematically destroyed. As The Miz and Riley entered the ring, John Cena left it and, as if prepared for the ambush slid his hand beneath the apron pulling out a chair. Within moments, Cena had taken out three of the six members of Nexus with the chairs leaving Slater, Gabriel and of course Wade Barrett. These three left ringside quickly, backed away by Cena who once again looked intent on causing harm to the group that had caused him so many issues. As the conscious Nexus members disappeared backstage, in the ring, Orton was doing a good job fending off The Miz and Alex Riley. One by one he cast right hands in each of their directions, before it was the new, non-Money In The Bank, briefcase carried by Riley came into play. He swung it hard into Orton's upper back before The Miz hit The Reality Check on Orton knocking him to the ground. In shocking similarity to last week, The Miz requested a table and Alex Riley provided, setting it up in the ring. The two men pulled Orton to his feet and leant him against the table before lifting him up to hit the same double spine buster from last week. It was, however, not to be. Orton, lifted into the air, turned sharply and nailed an RKO on a unknowing Alex Riley. As Orton jumped back to his feet, The Miz left the ring and backed up the ramp way.

*DING DING* Michael Cole, clearly concerned for The Miz, climbs to his feet. The boos begin before he can even speak. He climbs the podium and speaks into the mic.

Cole: If I can have your attention please, I have received an email from the Anonymous Raw General Manager...

The booing continues for a moment.

Cole: And I quote... "That is quite enough! Despite the trip down memory lane this carnage is providing me with, I cannot risk either one of you getting hurt with just two weeks until TLC. From this moment, I am ordering that both of you cease your violence towards one another. If either of you should instigate any kind of violence towards the other, there will be repercussions. For you, Mr. Orton, you will be stripped of your Number One contendership..."

The Miz nods, smiling happy with the decision.

Cole: "And as for you Miz, you will be stripped of the WWE Title..."

This, it is clear, is not what The Miz had been hoping to hear. Still, feeling more confident that the threat of attack had been avoided, The Miz walked back to the ring and half slid inside grabbing Riley's leg. Orton, immediately places his foot on the chest of the apprentice stopping him from being pulled out of the ring.

Cole: "However... Mr. Orton, at this time I would like to give you a choice. Should you decide to include Alex Riley in the "non-physical" clause to your altercations in the next couple of weeks, I have a bonus... He will be barred from ringside during your match at TLC. If you choose to pass on some of your frustrations with The Miz to his apprentice, then he will be free to accompany Miz for your tables match... The choice, is yours."

As Cole steps down from the podium, The Miz senses danger. He backs away, as Orton pulls Riley up to his feet once more and without taking his eyes off The Miz, hitting an Olympic Slam through the table leaving Riley in the mess. Orton hit the ropes, leaning over BEGGING The Miz to come back but to no avail as we slowly fade out.

Cole: Orton had NO business attacking Alex Riley! He should be stripped of his shot anyway!

Lawler: The chance to show The Miz what's in-store for him at TLC? I couldn't pass that up myself.

Punk: Typical, as always the barbaric solving problems with their fists.

Cole: Either way, Riley was defenceless! But at least The Miz is protected until the Pay-Per-View. Ladies and gentlemen, we'll see you next week... Good night!

Thanks for the comments guys, I know these shows have been along similar lines and especially the PPV is looking very familiar, but I'm planning on veering off in my own direction from January onwards.

With a little luck, the stories and and characters that start to grow and the direction I plan on taking the company does start to come through.

Wrestle Fest Rumour-Mill

  • It has been rumoured that the WWE are not happy with Jerry Lawlers work on the desk. On the contrary, they are loving CM Punk's vocal work. It's thought that had it not been for his ability in the ring, Punk MAY have been transitioned to the desk perminantly.
  • Feeling backstage is that Randy Orton is hugely disliked by many of the workers and feel he has to be kept away from the WWE Championship. It's thought that once the title is around his waist again, it may not be possible to get it back off.
  • Conflicting reports have come to the forefront regarding Triple H's future. He is planning a duel role as both wrestler and agent when he returns to WWE TV.
  • In recent weeks WWE has reached out to a number of WWE legends for future shows leading up and into Wrestlemania. The Rock has been considered a definate No-No but there is a strong possibility that Bret Hart and Steve Austin are considering further offers.
  • A former WWE Diva is in dicussions to return to help boost the Diva's Division. There is a feeling that whilst amongst the most beautiful group of wrestlers in the business, they are also amongst some of the least able.
  • Finally, it has been discussed that WWE may be considering bringing back Goldberg for Wrestlemania in Atlanta. It would be interesting to see if the two parties can work out a deal.

Please note, these are just rumours and there are NOT being reported as news. Some of these stories may well be little more than speculation. Until we have confirmation they will remain as Rumours.

Wrestle Fest Newsbeat

  • Confirmed this week have been a number of workers walking away from Ring Of Honor. Austin Aries, Chris Hero, Christopher Daniels, Davey Richards and Roderick Strong have all moved away from ROH without reason. It has yet to be confirmed whether these workers will appear in WWE or TNA, although a new series of NXT is due to start within the next few weeks.
  • Dave Bautista has indeed given up his new dream of moving in to MMA. A recent spaing session saw the Animal dominate in terms of size and strength, but in technique and speed have left a lot to be desired.
  • WWE have hired a new writer who is handling most of the booking duties over on Raw and Smackdown. There is little known about the new writer, but he has handled the last two weeks of Raw and Smackdown. These shows have seen an increase in viewership, whether this is a perminant change is yet to be known.
  • Finally, the recent rumours that have concerned Brock Lesnar seem to have Zero ground as any move to leave UFC will completely ruin his chances in MMA with any company. The only way he will look to leave UFC now is if the WWE A) Pay his costs to break his contract and B) Sign him to a long term deal with significantly reduced road schedule.

The Rockferry Report

December Week Two, Part One

By Brian Rockferry

So, it's official... NXT Season Four is coming to our screens (in the US, our laptop screens) in just a couple of weeks time. When I logged onto WWE.com and saw a link to the NXT Season Four Rookies and Pro's, my immediate reaction was, to say the least, underwhelming. Series One was great, it gave the WWE eight new superstars (seven members of the original Nexus and Daniel Bryan) of which two have really been break-out stars in the last half of 2010 (in Bryan and Barrett).

Season Two, however, was less productive. Season Two gave us Michael McGillicutty and Husky Harris who never wrestle, they just appear in beatdown angles, and Kaval who loses all of the time. I don't know why, but Season Two looked like it was destined to fail. It was like the making of the Nexus and Bryan meant they could stop trying. Worse was yet to come.

Season Three made me yearn for Season Two and that was saying something. I respect women and I respect wrestlers; quit pro quo, I respect women wrestlers a hell of a lot. The problem? The NXT Season Three women couldn't wrestle. Sure, they looked good and I have to give AJ Lee props for carrying a weak roster of women, but all in all I was hugely disappointed in the women they brought to the table in the third series.

So, when I saw the Season Four roster had been announced, I could almost hear the interest seeping out of me... And then I clicked the link. The pictures I saw were almost too good to be true. As an independent mark, I almost pee'd, I'm not kidding. No, seriously, if I hadn't litterally JUST been to the bathroom I would have flooded by boxers. It was a veritable who's who of guys I love to watch wrestle. I'll go through them all soon, and also match it with the reason I love who each guy is paired with as well.

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/DanielBryan.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/ChristopherDaniels.jpg

Pro: Daniel Bryan

Rookie: "The Dark Saint" Chris Danielson

The former Christopher Daniels being mentored by the former Bryan Danielson? Two of the three founding fathers of Ring of Honor? If we could somehow get Kaval involved then anyone who was a fan of early ROH would almost die. The negative about these two being paired up is that it's less likely they'll fight... On NXT. There is a strong possibility that these two could well do some business later on in a match, but we can only hope.

Pro: CM Punk

Rookie: "No Nonsense" Donovan Brooker

Chris Hero in the WWE? YES! They've certainly started to up the "wrestler" quota. I'm not so sure on the name nore the moniker, or as to why ever superstar has been given one off the bat, but I can still love the fact that Hero is here. Do you want to know why I love this pairing? Because Hero reminds me of Punk, they even teamed up back in PWG a few years back. On this stage, Hero could well be CM Punk's newest "Straight Edge Save". If he is? Oh my god, I may well melt.

Pro: The Big Show

Rookie: "The Twilight Warrior" Jasper Edwards

Roderick Strong or, the Twilight Warrior has been brought in as a clear attempt at tapping into the "Twilight" craze. I don't get it, as a friend of mine once said, it's "one girls choice between necrophillia and beastiality". But still, the kids seem to love it. After doings some digging, Jasper and Edward are both Cullens in the movie? If that makes sense to you then you either have a crush on Robert Patterson or you have a girlfriend between the age of twelve and thirty. Not so sure on the Big Show link? Probably the poorest of the lot, but they could hardly bring back Gangrel... Or Kevin Thorn. My god do you remember him? What a bad idea...

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/WilliamRegal.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/AlexKoslov.jpg

Pro: William Regal

Rookie: "The Russian Rocket" Peter Orlov

Alex Koslov is best known for his technical abilities, especially considering he was trained by Daniel Bryan. William Regal is, as many in the business would tell you, one of the most technically gifted wrestlers in the business. As such, these two should bounce off one another well. I do wonder, however, whether the fact that Koslov is MOLDOVAN may not sit as well with the Russian fans... But who knows, maybe a team with Vladamir Koslov is on the cards?

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/RandyOrton-1.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/DaveyRichards2.jpg

Pro: Randy Orton

Rookie: "The Phoenix" Richard Davis

This is, by anyones definition, a good fit. Davey Richards is probably best known for his physical disection of his opponents, traits that are often also attributed to The Viper. I forsee Orton, IF he is booked as being interested, coiling "The Phoenix" ready to spring as if it were Orton himself. Some partnerships are entertaining, some are mouthwatering, this is the later. I'm a big fan of this partnership especially if Orton's killer instinct does start to rub off.

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/CodyRhodes.jpghttp://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/WWE/People/TylerBlack.jpg

Pro: "Dashing" Cody Rhodes

Rookie: "The Destroyer" Seth Rollins

This is one from the entertaining pile. Tyler Black, or Seth Rollins as he's now called was once part of The Age of the Fall with Jimmy Jacobs. This, it was regularly considered, was an emo group, and if there's one thing emo's hate it's... Well... Anyone who's happy, but also pretty boys. Why can I see Rhodes giving Rollins tips like "wash your hair and shave your beard"? Not sure, but I can definately see the benefits to the show.

All in all, this could be the best yet and with another rumoured "Change" coming to NXT as the show approaches it's first 12 months, this could be the last "season" of the show as we know it, but more will be released on that in our news and rumours section next week.
