UFC 128: Silva vs. Belfort!

Unaired Prelims

Kyle Noke vs. Ryan Jensen

Round 1: A pretty decent round. Noke came out and rocked Jensen right off the bat, however, Jensen kept it together and put together a decent round. However, Noke gets this one.

10-9 Noke.

Round 2: A very close round. They made it clear they have no interest of taking it to the ground. Both landed equal damage, but there has to be a winner,

10-9 Jensen.

Round 3: Another good round, but Jensen got side control and finished it with an armbar.

Winner: Ryan Jensen via. Submission *GOOD*

Takeya Mizugaki vs. Ivan Menjivar

Round 1: THE PLACE IS GOING NUTS! Right after they touched gloves, Takeya went head hunting, but Ivan ducked the shots and BLASTED Mizugaki with a right and put him to sleep in just 26 seconds!!!

Winner: Ivan Menjivar via. KO *GOOD*

Brandon Visher vs. Francisco Rivera

Round 1: With the crowd still buzzing after the last fight, it was clear they were into this fight. Right off the bat, Visher missed a body kick but quickly countered with punishing shots, knocking Rivera down and getting the stoppage just 1:06 into the fight!

Winner: Brandon Visher via. TKO *GOOD*

Spike TV Prelims

Chris Camozzi vs. Brad Tavares

Round 1: Camozzi got it to the ground, but didn't do anythiny forcing a stand up. Brad landed some shots on the feet, but nothing to out weight the takedown.

10-9 Camozzi.

Round 2: Nothing too great, outside of Camozzi getting a slam, planting Tavares on his back. However, Chris could not do a thing on the ground, but still took the round.

10-9 Camozzi.

Round 3: Tavares picked Camozzi apart in this one, landing several major shots. Camozzi tried for a takedown, but Brad winded up getting the guard, and finished in full mount. Very close to 1-8, but,

10-9 Tavares.

Winner: Chris Camozzi via. UD *DECENT*

Jake Ellenberger vs. Brian Foster

Round 1: Wow. Foster rocked Ellenberger and got mount. He then got the back mount, but failed to lock in a rear-naked choke for about 2 minutes and couldn't end the fight like he should have.

10-9 Foster.

Round 2: Ellenberger got rocked again and went into panic mode. He gassed himself by swinging for the fences, while Foster played it smart, avoiding the shots and scoring points with punches.

10-9 Foster.

Round 3: It was only a matter of time, but Foster came out and landed some major shots, and TKO'd his way to victory. Great showing from Brian Foster.

Winner: Brian Foster via. TKO *AVERAGE*

Main Card

Chuck Liddell vs. Stephan Bonnar

Round 1: This one ended up on the ground, with not much to report.

10-9 Bonnar.

Round 2: For just 36 seconds, we got to see vintage Iceman! He came out, landing shot after shot till Bonnar fell to the mat. Chuck proceeded to hammer fist Bonnar over and over untill there was no other choice but to stop it.

Winner: Chuck Liddell via. TKO *DECENT*

Ben Henderson vs. Evan Dunham

Round 1: Bendo came out looking good in this one. He wasn't playing around, got it to the ground, and finished it with an armbar in round 1.

Winner: Ben Henderson via. Submission *GREAT*

Co-Main Event:

Jon Jones vs. Thiago Silva

Round 1: Thiago put the pressure on Jones right away. He scored two major knock downs, but he could not finish it off. He showed great striking, showing Jones he isn't a fan of the hype.

10-9 Silva.

Round 2: A very fun round. There was a lot of striking, the highlights being a round house kick by Silva, and a flying knee from Jon Jones. It was close to call, but Silva may have edged it.

10-9 Silva.

Round 3: A slower round, Jones did manage to cut Silva from the clinch with an elbow.

10-9 Jones.

Winner: Jon Jones via. Split *DECNET*...I got to admit, I'm surprised by this.

Main Event:

Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort

Round 1: It was slow until Silva got the clinch and proceeded to knock him out with a knee.

Winner: Anderson Silva via. KO *VERY POOR*

Dana White makes major announcement: Middleweight title vacated, Bisping/Sonnen replaced by Cruz/Faber. 4-Man Middleweight Tournament announced for October.

Enough is enough. Dana White has stripped Anderson Silva of his title, meaning he is no longer the dominate champ we all know him as. Rather than handing the title out, Dana chose to go with a one night, 4-man tournament for the belt in October.

The tournament will feature Demian Maia, Chael Sonnen, Yushin Okami and Michael Bisping. Sonnen and Okami will square off, where Maia and Bisping will throw down, with the winners fighting for the vacated title later that night.

I appreciate the feedback, guys.

As for Silva, I might give him one more fight at MW to see if makes weight, then go from there. I just think it's BS you miss weight when you're the reigning champ, you screw the other fighter out of the belt.

Cerrone sends White, UFC 'wish list' of fighters.

Cerrone wants a title shot, he let the UFC know that. UFC officals received a letter from the former WEC standout, where he lists off a number of fighters he wants to fight either in his next bout, or sometime soon. The list, compiled of many names that span multiple weight classes, has some standout names such as Ross Pearson, Melvin Guillard, Sean Sherk, Takanori Gomi, 'whoever I have to beat into oblivion to get the belt' with the names Frankie Edgar, Gray Maynard and Anthony Pettis listed aside it, Jose Aldo, George St. Pierre and even Anderson Silva. Cerrone has his eyes glued in on the elite, that's for sure.

Sakara: Not being in the tournament isn't a 'snub', it's motivation.

Alessio Sakara waited and waited for his phone to ring, hoping for a call from Dana telling him he made the 4-man tournament for the vacant Middleweight title. "He called," Alessio recalls. "He told me that they gave the final spot to Bisping," he pauses. "It's cool though, I truely don't think I'm ready for that pressure. I say I need one more fight, then it's time." When asked whats next, Sakara made it clear, "I want Leben." Alessio's last loss in the UFC, which came back in 2008, was against Chris Leben. "I want to avenge that loss."

Lesnar willing to 'wipe out' entire weight class for another title shot

Don't tell Brock Lesnar that Cain Velasquez is the Heavyweight champion. Don't tell him that Frank Mir or Shane Carwin may be next in line for said championship. Don't tell Brock Lesnar that he might have to fight friend, and teammate, Jon Madsen at some point in the near future. Well, you might be able to tell him that. "It's a business," Brock told blurcat. "If I have to fight my own brother, then I'll do it. If I have to wipe out all the other Heavyweights in order to get that belt back, then so be it."

Ultimate Fight Night: Argentina!

Prelims

John Makdessi vs. Mac Danzig

Round 1: Danzig pushed the pace this round. He got to the ground, but couldn't finish with an armbar, causing the round to finish on the feet.

10-9 Danzig.

Round 2: Similar to last round, but Danzig got the submission via armbar.

Winner: Mac Danzig via. Submission *GOOD*

Dave Branch vs. Jason Macdonald

Round 1: Hardly anything happened.

10-9 Branch.

Round 2: Wall and stall.

10-9 Macdonald.

Round 3: Snoozer.

10-9 Macdonald.

Winner: Jason Macdonald via. UD *POOR*

Ken Stone vs. Nick Pace

Round 1: Pace dicateted the round, from bell to bell. He landed some solid shots, never settled when Stone tried to advance on him, and scored a takedown.

10-9 Pace.

Round 2: Again, Pace did well. Stone tried to land some strikes, but Pace was too elusive for any to find a home.

10-9 Pace.

Round 3: Stone got gassed and basically ran out the clock.

10-9 Pace.

Winner: Nick Pace via. UD *VERY POOR*

Chris Tuchscherer vs. Christian Morecraft

Round 1: More of a feeling out process, this round saw Morecraft do most of the work. He landed only a handful of shots, but he was the agresser, giving him the round.

10-9 Morecraft.

Round 2: Morecraft did his thing again, by pressing Chris. However, in the dying moments of the round, Chris plants two huge haymakers on Morecrafts cheek, rocking him and almost allowing him to finish the fight before the bell rang.

10-9 Tuchscherer.

Round 3: Morecraft knew the fight was up for grabs, and wanted to take it. He put the pressure on Chris, not allowing him to settle or hardly get any shots off at that. Morecraft did enough to get himself the victory.

10-9 Morecraft.

Winner: Christian Morecraft via. UD *AWFUL*

Main Card:

Amir Sadollah vs. Charlie Brenneman

Round 1: Not much to really discuss in this one.

10-9 Sadollah.

Round 2: Amir came out pushing the pace, and keeping it standing. He landed a big hit, almost dropping Charlie but had to settle with a Muay Thai clinch, yet failed to land anything from it. *And as I typed this out, I originally put an 's' infront of 'hit' and didn't notice...even in my 20s, I found it hilarious that it readt Amir landed a big **** on Charlie lol.*

10-9 Sadollah.

Round 3: Despite being gassed, Amir did a great job of ending the fight strong. He landed minor shots, but enough to inflic damage on Charlie. And no, there were no big ****s landed in this round haha.

10-9 Sadollah.

Winner: Amir Sadollah via. UD *AVERAGE*

Chad Mendes vs. Erik Koch

Round 1: Not much in this round.

10-9 Koch.

Round 2: Round 1 again.

10-9 Koch.

Round 3: Mendes came alive, landing two big takedowns.

10-9 Mendes.

Winner: Erik Koch via. UD *AVERAGE*

Cody McKenzie vs. Dennis Siver

Round 1: As if the fans didn't love Cody after seeing him on TUF, they have more reason to love him! Siver right off the bat went for the KO, but Cody countered with a crazy flying knee, sending Dennis to the ground! Prepped for strikes, Dennis exposed his arms, giving Cody the perfect shot an armbar, which he locked in for the victory!

Winner: Cody McKenzie via. Submission *GOOD*

Co-Main Event:

Matt Mitrione vs. Big Nog

Round 1: Everyone knew Mitrione had a punchers chance...until Big Nog got it to the ground. After a pretty even slug fest, Nog locked in an achillies lock for the win.

Winner: Big Nog via. Submission *GREAT*

Main Event:

Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin

Round 1: Don't look now but...Ace is back! He landed huge shots on Griffin, forcing him to cover up, he proceeded to drop bombs untill Forrest fell, then Rich finished it off in just 1:10.

Winner: Rich Franklin via. TKO *GOOD*

'Of The Night' Awards:

Fight of The Night: Matt Mitrione vs. Big Nog

We get a recap of last weeks episode and the fight. Dana shares his thoughts about Morales' win. He said he liked his ability to ditacte the pace of the fight and make sure he landed effective strikes.

Gray, on the other hand is rather upset with Morales. In his interview, Gray said he felt like Joe was very disrespectful and doesn't deserve to call himself a fighter.

Meanwhile, at the house, Joe Heiland is giving Gregor Gracie a hard time again. Gregor is trying to read a book, while Joe keeps throwing grapes at Gracie, who laughs it off. Not happy with the playful response, Joe keeps throwing the grapes, and eventually knocks the book out of Gregors hands. Joe is trying to get Gregor to throw a punch, but Gracie knows better. In his interview, Gregor tells the camers it's not how he was raised. If he's going to fight Joe, it'll be in the cage and not the house.

After a commercial, Frankie is at the gym with his team.

Frankie: Alright guys, first off I'd like to say thanks to Joe for a great fight. We have the momentum now, we can pick the next fight and I think we should hit them where it hurts. I think we should make Logan Clark, Gray's top guy, show his worth. They aren't expecting it...anyone want to throw down with Logan?

Before he could even finish the sentence, Tommy Speer raises his hand. Frankie gives him the thumbs up, and they get to training.

Back at the house, Team Maynard is having a little fun with Team Edgar while they are away. Both teams have designated bathrooms, and Team Maynard thought it would be funny to mess with the red team's toilet, replaced the mouth wash with straight vodka, and someone's body wash got switched out with IceyHot. Ouch.

After the commercial, it's time to announce the fight.

Frankie: Since we won the last fight, we get to pick fight number three. So to cut to the chase, Tommy Speer will be fighting Logan Clark from Team Maynard.

Right away, Gray starts to smile. He puts his head down and chuckles, before giving his assistant coach, Tyson Griffin and head nod and a thumbs up. Gray seems very, very happy about this choice. Gray tells the camers that Frankie must be insane to put Gray's top pick in their this early, and that he has no doubt the green team will win this fight.

Commercial.

Fight: Tommy Speer vs. Logan Clark

Round 1: Clark set the pace for this round. Everytime Speer went to make a move, Clark would fend him off with strikes. They weren't anything too dangerous, but enough to win him the round.

10-9 Clark.

Round 2: They both did a decent amount of damage, with Speer getting a decent amount of the strikes in. The game scored it Clark, but I say:

10-9 Speer.

Round 3: Speer landed some big rights, but overall, Clark did the most damage and may have won himself the fight.

10-9 Clark.

Winner: Logan Clark via. UD *AVERAGE*

Advancing:

Hernani Perpetuo (Team Maynard)

Joe Morales (Team Edgar)

Logan Clark (Team Maynard)

Eliminated:

Harvey Harra (Team Edgar)

Temdan McCrory (Team Maynard)

Tommy Speer (Team Edgar)

After the fight, Frankie tries to motivate Tommy, highlighting what he did well, but it's hard to take it in when Team Maynard's is celebrating on the other side of the gym.

Cruz: We're not 'replacements'...we're better than that.

The man with the fastest hands in the UFC meets the man with the biggest heart in the UFC this saturday in London. However, UFC 129 was not originally ment for Cruz and Urijah Faber, it was for Michael Bisping and Chael Sonnen. After the title controversy in the middleweight title, Dana White put Sonnen and Bisping in a future tournament, while Dominick Cruz and Faber stepped in. "This is a title fight," Cruz said of his upcoming bout. "We're not replacements, we're better than that. Get ready for the fight of the year, I'll put my house on that."

Pettis willing to risk title shot; fight with Cerrone in the works.

The kid is a fighter, that's for sure. And there's one thing you can't do to a fighter and that is keep him waiting, which is the situation Anthony Pettis is in. After he created MMA legend with that cage-kick to capture the WEC Lightweight belt from Ben Henderson, Pettis was in line for Frankie Edgar/Gray Maynard...which is taking a little longer than expected. Pettis, who told the UFC that he needs a fight and can't wait to see who wins between Egar and Gray, named Donald Cerrone specificly for his next bout. Neither the Pettis, Ceronne or the UFC camos could be reached for a statement.

UFC 120: Cruz vs. Faber!

Prelims

Igor Pokrajac vs. Dongi Yang

10-9 Pokrajac.

Winner: Igor Pokrajac via. UD *POOR*

Rob Broughton vs. Pat Barry

Round 1: HD came out picking apart Rob. The shots were landing and they were effective. Barry went for a quick hook, but Rob dodged it then BOOM...KNOCOUT VICTORY FOR BROUGHTON!

Winner: Rob Broughton via. KO *GREAT*

Spike TV Prelims

Bart Palaszewski vs. Maciej Jewtuszko

Round 1: Nothing too crazy. The highlight was Maciej's round house kick to the ribs.

10-9 Jewtuskzo

Winner: Maciej Jewtuszko via. TKO *POOR*

Inbetween fights, we see Cruz arriving and Faber in his lockeroom, watching the TV.

Chan Sung Jung vs. Mark Hominick

Round 1: Hominick came out looking smooth. He was landing some solid jabs, and avoiding Jung at all costs. However, like HD showed us earlier, it only takes one shot. Chan rocked Mark with a hook, then proceeded to TKO his way to a win just before the round ended.

Winner: Chan Sung Jung via. TKO *AVERAGE*

Before we head to PPV, Joe and Dana discuss the upcoming card, saying they expect some great fights. Joe says he feels the main event between Cruz and Faber will be one for the ages.

Main Card

Round 1: Both exchanged some decent strikes, but CB took the round when he secured side control towards the end of the round.

10-9 Dollaway.

Round 2: Alessio came out guns guns blazing, but CB landed a massive slam. He proceeded to geet back mount, and got his TKO victory. CB is climbing up the ranks, and quick.

10-9 Matyushenko.

10-9 Schaub.

Round 2: WOW! Schaub came in a little flat footed, and Cheick made him pay! Kongo layed some solid shots on him, rocking Schaub and proceeded to TKO The Hybrid!

Winner: Cheick Kongo via. TKO *AVERAGE*

Co-Main Event: WW #1 Contender Fight

Round 2: Another good round for the AKA fighter. Fitch got pinned against the cage, but managed to still score a slam to give him the round.

10-9 Fitch.

Round 3: A clean sweep for Fitch. He got a takedown, side control and even got the mount position, but couldn't finish the fight. He easily took this fight, great showing from Fitch.

10-9 Fitch.

Winner: Jon Fitch via. UD *POOR*

Main Event: UFC Bantamweight Title

Dominick Cruz © vs. Urijah Faber

Round 1: A pretty good round. Cruz rocked Faber right off the bat, but you know Urijah wouldn't give in that easily. He bounced back landing a few shots of his own and scored a takedown, but I still have to give the round to Cruz.

10-9 Cruz.

Round 2: It was a slow start, but Faber scored another big takedown. Faber locked in an armbar, but Cruz got out of it. Later, Faber went for another armbar...and he wouldn't let this one slip! Faber sunk it in deep, forcing the tap out and winning the belt!

Last weeks episode of recapped. Dana walks us through the fight, pointing out what he thought of the fight. He then gathers the teams together.

Dana: Alright guys. We're going to switch something up. Gray, you have the next fight selection however...we're going to be having a two-for-one special to close out the prelims. So Gray, we're going to let you guys decide who fights next but we'll need to know tomorrow.

Team Maynard leaves, but as they do, Heiland bumps into Gracie again, but doesn't even look at him when Gracie goes to confront him about it, yet Frankie quickly pulls him back. Team Edgar has a hard core cardio practice, something Frankie is a genius at.

Meanwhile at the house, Team Maynard is relaxing out by the pool when they are talking about the next fight. Gray suggests that Heiland fights, and that he go against Eric Magee. Heiland nods his head in agreement.

We get back from a commercial, and it's fight announcement time. Gray calls up Heiland who walks up with a grin. Joe goes over to Gregor, and stands face-to-face, eyes locked in on one another. Gray then announces Joe will be fighting Magee. When he does so, Heiland smirks at Gracie, but Magee quickly gets in Heiland's face, who loses his smirk.

We have a practice montage, then a commercial.

Fight: Joe Heiland vs. Eric Magee

Round 1: A pretty solid round. Neither were looking to get it to the ground, and Frankie loudly walked Magee through the stand up game, coaching him to some solid strikes.

10-9 Magee.

Round 2: Frankie told Eric to use good head movement this round...Magee took it to heart. Joe came out looking for some solid strikes, but Magee bobbed and weaved, avoiding them. The highlight finish came with Magee ducked a jab, and then delivered a devistating hook to Heilands face, knocking him out cold before he landed!

Winner: Eric Magee via. Knock Out *GOOD*

Frankie is very pleased with Eric's willingness to listen to his judgement. The red team celebrates, knowing they now have the momentum. Gregor Gracie smiles to himself as we see Heiland being slowly picked up off of the mat.

After a commercial, we see Team Edgar back in the gym. After a training session, they discuss the next fight. Frankie opens up the floor to whoever wants to fight, and Gregor Gracie steps up. Frankie tells him he'd like to see him fight James Elson.

The fight announcement is made, then we go to a commercial.

Fight: Gregor Gracie vs. James Elson

Round 1: Gregor did a good job getting it to the ground. Elson kept him in guard, not allowing much, but caused a scramble, which gave Gracie the side control, and eventually the mount. Gracie then locked in an armbar, causing Elson to tap with under a minute left in the fight.

Winner: Gregor Gracie via. Submission *GOOD*

All of a sudden, it seems that Team Edgar has all the momentum heading into the final prelim fights. The cameras cut out after we see a very upset Gray Maynard.

Advancing:

Hernani Perpetuo (Team Maynard)

Joe Morales (Team Edgar)

Logan Clark (Team Maynard)

Eric Magee (Team Edgar)

Gregor Gracie (Team Edgar)

Eliminated:

Harvey Harra (Team Edgar)

Temdan McCrory (Team Maynard)

Tommy Speer (Team Edgar)

Joe Heiland (Team Maynard)

James Elson (Team Maynard)

UFC 130: A Brand New Day!

Spike TV Prelims

Joey Beltran vs. Heath Herring

Round 1: Beltran did a good job to start off the fight, but Herring did a good job clawing his way back towards the end, possibly taking the round from Beltran.

10-9 Herring

Round 2: Herring came out picking away at Beltran's legs causing a limp for Joey. He was slowed down, but Joey still was able to blast Herring with some bombs, then was able to TKO Heath.

Winner: Joey Beltran via. TKO *DECENT*

Manny Gamburyan vs. George Roop

Round 1: Nothing too hectic.

10-9 Gamburyan.

Cerrone: 'Don't ask me about Pettis.'

Don't as Donald Cerrone about his up-coming bout with Anthony Pettis. Don't ask him about his training. Don't ask him about his team. Don't ask him about his dinner last night. The only thing he'll answer are questions about Gray Maynard of Frankie Edgar. "After I beat Pettis," Cerrone said, "Which ever one of the TV stars beats the other, I deserve to fight. I want that belt." Cerrone, referencing to The Ultimate Fighter coaches as 'TV Stars' feels that a win over Pettis should solidify himself as next in line. "Gomi, Guida, Sass," Cerrone rants, "I got them all beat. I'm gunning for that belt."

Evans more focused, humble and mature in preperation for rematch with Rampage.

The classic smile that Rashad Evans flashes the blurcat cameras don't show a concerened champion. With his next title fight coming against bitter rival, Rampage Jackson, Evans knows what to expect. "I was childish, we both were the first time," Evans admits. "My head is on tight for this one. I understand Quinton likes to get people going with talk to really sell the fight but to be honest," Evans pauses, "I'm not saying a word this time. We're world class fighters, we don't sell our fights by talking...we sell the fight with our skill set." Evans-Jackson II is still in the works, and does not have an offical date set, but it is expected to be sometime in early/mid 2011.

Stefan Struve vs. Travis Browne

10-9 Browne

Round 2: Another good round for Browne. It's not like Struve is coming out getting ran over, he's doing a good job of defending some strikes, but that just speaks to how well Browne is doing for him to be up 2-0.

10-9 Browne

Round 3: Struve came alive this around and scored a takedown. He got side control, and they exchanged submissions with neither being able to lock one in.

10-9 Brookins

Round 2: Brookins scored two takedowns in the round, and eventually got the mount as the round ended.

10-9 Brookins

Round 3: What an electric round! Volkmann rocked Brookins, and tried to finish it off but Brookins showed great heart. They both slugged it out, back-and-forth, for most of the round. What a fun round.

10-9 Volkmann

Winner: [/b]Jonathan Brookins via. UD *GOOD*[/b]

Co-Main Event:

Matt Hamill vs. Thiago Silva

Round 1: Silva got it to the ground, and attempted a few submissions. None of them forced a tap, but it was very interesting to see Silva handle Hamill like that on the ground.

10-9 Silva

Round 2: Wall and stall

10-9 Hamill

Round 3: Thiago came out flat footed, and got put on his back by a good takedown from Hamill. However, Hamill didn't seem too anxious to do much, as Silva slapped on a triangle choke for the win!

Winner: Thiago Silva via. Submission *AVERAGE*

Main Event:

Anthony Pettis vs. Donald Cerrone

Round 1: An interesting round. Pettis scored a takedown, but Cerrone ended up in the dominant position, but Showtime did enough to take the round.

10-9 Pettis

Breaking news: Frank Mir to leave UFC after bout with Velasquez!

No one saw it coming. Just days before his title fight with Cain Velasquez, Frank Mir informed the UFC that he won't be returning once his contract runs up. This sent ripples through the front office. "He's a p****," Dana White said of Mir. "How selfish! I mean, we have a line out the f***in door for people who want a shot at Cain, and he pulls this s*** days prior to his fight? Bull****."

Brock Lesnar shared his two cents with us, "Frank is a punk. He's afraid to fight anyone in this company. He's a b****." We couldn't get ahold of UFC Champ, Cain Velasquez, but it has been said that this bout is no longer a title fight, and no matter the outcome, Velasquez will still be the champion.

White told blurcat that he looked into finding another opponnent, but because it's just days away, he wasn't able to do so. Classless move from Mir.
