Sorry guys. I've been working nonstop on updating this mod so I can release it on here. As you may recall, the last time I released it on here I used photos from the MW mod and thus it was taken down. I have been moving along as quick as possible re-cutting photo after photo so this time the mod can stay up on this board.

I'll get back to this dynasty soon though. I promise. And thanks for the kind words. It's nice to know the dynasty is well-liked.

Awesome. I really dig this diary. I can't wait to play the mod too! :)

Overeem vs. Kharitonov III

August 27, 2011

HP Pavilion in San Jose, California

Live on PPV

Prelims:

Ousmane Thomas Diagne (2-2) vs. Joe Ellenberger (10-1)

Ellenberger really pushed the pace in the first round, but each of his takedown attempts were stuffed by Diagne. Too close too call. The second round was all Diagne. He again stuffed Ellenberger's takedown attempts and landed some nice shots that visibly hurt Ellenberger. At one point, Ellenberger pulled guard out of frustration, but he was unable to do anything off his back. The third round was much of the same as Ellenberger continued to have his takedowns stuffed and each time he looked more and more dejected. Diagne landed several strikes each time he shot in as well.

Ousman Thomas Diagne (3-2) beat Joe Ellenberger (10-2) by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Comments: The Cung Le protégé has now strung together two straight victories and it was clear he worked hard on his takedown defense. Ellenberger has now dropped two straight after winning the first 10 of his career and may only get one more chance with Strikeforce to prove he belongs.

Tarec Saffiedine (11-4) vs. Igor Gracie (4-2)

The first round saw Gracie pin Saffiedine up against the cage and punish him with dirty boxing and knees to the body and thighs. Saffiedine tried for a takedown late, but Gracie reversed it into a takedown of his own. In the second round, Saffiedine came out and dominated Gracie in the standup. At one point he had Gracie rocked, but Gracie was able to grab a hold of him and pin him up againt the cage to save himself further punishment. The third round slowed way down and the majority of the round was spent up against the cage with both fighters grappling for position. Gracie probably had the slight edge though.

Igor Gracie (5-2) beat Tarec Saffiedine by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Comments: With three straight victories on preliminary cards, Gracie has likely earned his way onto a main card.

Ralek Gracie (3-1) vs. Cale Yarbrough (8-3)

Gracie got a couple easy takedowns in round one, but was unable to do anything with them. The second round was extremely close as the fighters stood and traded. It could have gone either way, but Yarbrough appeared to land the crisper strikes. The third round mirrored the second, except this time it appeared Gracie got the better of the exchanges.

Ralek Gracie (4-1) beat Cale Yarbrough (8-4) by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Comments: Back-to-back Gracie victories and a nice bounce back win after being upset his last time out by Wayne Phillips.

Seth Baczynski (12-7) vs. Marcus Vänttinen (19-2)

The first round was all action. Baczynski was able to takedown Vänttinen and secure side control. He attempted and arm triangle, but Vänttinen was able to slip out of it. Baczynski then proceeded to pound away and he opened a large cut over Vänttinen's left eye with a brutal elbow. Vänttinen was able to scramble and end up on top by the end of the round, but it was too late as Baczynski dominated the previous four in a half minutes of the round. Both fighters were much more tentative in the second round. Baczynski was unable to score with the takedown this time and the round was contested solely on the feet. Baczynski once again controlled the round. Baczynski came charging out in the third round and rocked Vänttinen. He backed him up against the cage and unloaded until Vänttinen's legs buckled and he fell to the mat. Baczynski then went for the kill and continued the barrage of strikes until the ref jumped in and stopped the fight.

Seth Baczynski (13-7) beat Marcus Vänttinen (19-3) by TKO in 0:49 of round 3

Comments: Baczynski looked like a beast and looked much better than his last time out when he was defeated by Scott Lighty.

Main Card:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_RafaelCavalcante-1.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_RenatoSobral.jpg?t=1302935952

Rafael Cavalcante (10-3) vs. Renato Sobral (37-9)

The first round got the fans going in a negative way. With lots of boos. There wasn't much action at all. "Babalu" kept getting his takedown attempts stuffed and "Feijao" appeared content to circle. "Feijao" absolutely dominated the second round and he landed big shot after big shot. He put Sobral down hard at one point, but he did not capitalize on the opportunity. He seemed content to methodically pick "Babalu" apart. In the third round, "Feijao" rocked "Babalu" again, knocking him down. This time though, he followed him to the ground and continued the onslaught. He was unable to finish, but he did control the remainder of the round on top.

Rafael Cavalcante (11-3) beat Renato Sobral (37-10) by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Comments: Afterwards, "Feijao" called for a rematch with Dan Henderson, but "King Mo" Lawal had something to say about it and came into the cage. It looked like we were about to have another "Mayhem" Miller vs. Team Cesar Gracie moment, but Lawal just got on the mic and said that he deserves a rematch as well. It will be interesting to see how the Light Heavyweight title picture plays out.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_BrettRogers-1.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_BobbyLashley-1.gif

Brett Rogers (11-3) vs. Bobby Lashley (6-1)

As expected, these two came out and the first round was an absolute slugfest. There wasn't a single fan left standing after the frst round. The winner of the first round was the fans. It was too close too call. The second round started out again with both fighters throwing wildy. Using head movement, Rogers was able to slip past a left jab and he countered with a huge right hand right on the button, knocking Lashley out cold.

Brett Rogers (12-3) beat Bobby Lashley (6-2) by KO in 3:53 of round 2

Comments: To everyone's surprise, the fight made it to the second round. To no one's surprise, it ended with a knockout. Rogers needed an impressive victory and he delivered. Lashley looked good and his gas was better this time out, he just chose to stand and trade with the wrong man.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_LyleBeerbohm-1.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_ShinyaAoki.gif?t=1302934998

Lyle Beerbohm (16-1) vs. Shinya Aoki (28-5, 1 NC)

Aoki was able to take Beerbohm down and control him in the first round. He tried several submission attempts, but Beerbohm was able to survive. Aoki chose to stand and trade with Beerbohm for much of round two and he got the better of the exchanges. Aoki finally went for and got the takedown with about a minute left and controlled the rest of the round on the ground. Aoki secured a quick takedown in round three and moved to side control. He locked on an armbar and it looked close to being hyper-extended, but Beerbohm somehow got out of it. Aoki was determined to finish it though, as moments later he slapped on another armbar and this time Beerbohm was forced to tap.

Shinya Aoki (29-5, 1 NC) beat Lyle Beerbohm (16-2) by Submission (Armbar) in 2:56 of round 3

Comments: Aoki looked great and now has 5 stright victories since losing to the Lightweight Champ, Gilbert Melendez. Aoki may have just put himself near or at the top of the list of lightweight contenders.

Welterweight Championship:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_PaulDaley.gif?t=1302934998 vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_NormanParaisy.gif?t=1302934998

Paul Daley © (27-9-2) vs. Norman Paraisy (10-1, 1 NC)

The first round appeared to be sort of a feeling out process. Paraisy tried to get the takedown, but failed on each attempt. Daley eventually threw some huge shots, but failed to land. Daley probably took the round as he was able to stuff the takedowns and was a little more aggressive. The second round started slow, but then Daley let a jab sail wide and he countered with a barrage of big right hands. Paraisy collapsed and was visibly hurt. Daley looked for the finish and unleashed some devastating strikes to his downed opponent. The ref saw enough and jumped in for the save.

Paul Daley © (28-9-2) beat Norman Paraisy (10-2, 1 NC) by TKO in 3:02 of round 2 to retain his Welterweight Championship

Comments: Afterwards, Daley said he would keep knocking out anyone that Strikeforce puts in front of him. Up next for him will likely be a date with Tyron Woodley.

Heavyweight Championship & Heavyweight Grand Prix Final:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/AlistairOvereem.jpg?t=1302935019 vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/SergeiKharitonov.jpg?t=1302935077

Alistair Overeem © (36-11, 1 NC) vs. Sergei Kharitonov (18-5)

It was apparent in the first round that the champ wanted to punish Kharitonov in the Muay Thai clinch and it was even more apparent Kharitonov wanted nothing to do with the clinch. Overeem got what he wanted though and he secured the clinch and he blasted Kharitonov with a knee to the cheek and knocked him out cold.

Alistair Overeem © (37-11, 1 NC) beat Sergei Kharitonov (18-6) by KO in 3:41 of round 1 to retain his Heavyweight Championship

Comments: Who is going to stop "The Demolition Man's" path of destruction? Maybe Barnett was smart to tuck his tail between his legs and sign with the UFC.

News/Notes:

The attendance was 17,143 for a gate of $2,057,160

There were 1,081,920 PPV buys for revenue of $6,491,520

Fight of the Night: Rogers vs. Lashley

KO of the Night: Overeem

Submission of the Night: Aoki

- Cale Yarbrough's contract has not been renewed after two straight losses

- Tarec Saffiedine's contract has not been renewed after two straight losses

Strikeforce Challengers 19 Announced:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/DanielCormier-1.jpg vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/ShaneDelRosario.gif

Heavyweight, Daniel Cormier (7-1) vs. Shane del Rosario (10-1):

Both men are looking to bounce back after suffering their first career defeats their last time out. Cormier was stopped by Bobby Lashley and del Rosario was stopped by Lavar Johnson. Whomever comes out on top will be right back into the heavyweight mix.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_SiyarBahadurzada-1.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_LouisTaylor-1.gif

Middleweight, Siyar Bahadurzada (19-4-1) vs. Louis Taylor (7-2):

Bahadurzada looked good in his Strikeforce debut in which he stopped Jorge Patino via strikes. He was able to crack the top 25 ranked middleweights (#25) and is looking to keep his win streak going. Taylor got back in the win column his last time out and will look to spoil Bahadurzada's rise in the division.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_BobbyStack-1.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_JoshLaBerge-1.gif

Lightweight, Bobby Stack (9-2) vs. Josh LaBerge (9-4):

LaBerge has been on a tear of late, winning 7 straight including 2 straight in Strikeforce. Stack got back on the winning track taking a decision victory against Conor Heun his last time out. Both men would like a spot on a future bigger card, so expect fireworks in this one.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_KyraGracie.jpg vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_MaijuKujala-1.jpg

Women's Welterweight, Kyra Gracie (1-0) vs. Maiju Kujala (5-4):

Gracie looked great in her MMA debut as she dismantled Kim Couture, finishing her via TKO. Kujala is likely being brought in as the sacrificial lamb, but you can never count anyone out in MMA. Kujala was able to snap her losing streak in a fight overseas for Superior Challenge her last time out, defeating Allison Duckworth.

Prelims:

Welterweight, Myles Jury (9-0) vs. Nate Moore (8-2)

Lightweight, Lukasz Sajewski (9-0) vs. Nick Gonzalez (16-10, 1 NC)

Middleweight, Spencer Herns (1-1) vs. Jorge Lopez (8-1)

Strikeforce - Mayhem vs. Lawler II

September 10, 2011

Monroe Civic Center in Monroe, Louisiana

Live on Showtime

Prelims:

Ben Holscher (5-0) vs. Ville Manninen (4-1)

Not a whole lot going on in the first round. There was a lot of scambling for position up against the cage and not much in the way of strikes. Holscher appeared to squeak out the round. Holscher controlled Manninen up against the cage again for most of the second round. This time he did manage to land some nice knees and punches though. Manninen was able to get a takedown late in the round and it may have been enought to steal the round. Once again, the third round ended up against the cage. The two men battled back and forth with Holscher getting the better of the exchanges.

Ben Holscher (6-0) beat Ville Manninen (4-2) by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Julia Budd (1-2) vs. Erin Toughill (10-3-1)

Some great striking by both women in the first round, but Toughill definitely caused more damage. Toughill came out and absolutely dominated the second round. She picked apart Budd and was able to hit her with anything she wanted at will. She was able to floor Budd on a couple occasions, but was unable to get the finish. It appeared as though Toughill had nothing left after the second round as Budd was able to steal the third round with devasting leg and body kicks, but couldn't do enough to steal the fight.

Erin Toughill (11-3-1) beat Julia Budd (1-3) by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Comments: In a baffling interview, Toughill announced her retirement after this victory.

Wayne Phillips (6-3) vs. John Salter (6-3)

Salter started off the first round by controlling Phillips up against the cage with some nice punches and foot stomps. Phillips was able to get the trip takedown though and eventually transitioned from half guard into side control. He then took his time and was able to take Salter's back, get both hooks in, and sink in the rear naked choke for the tap out.

Wayne Phillips (7-3) beat John Salter (6-4) by Submission (Rear Naked Choke) in 3:25 of round 1

Comments: Phillips just keeps winning and may have earned his way off the prelims.

Orville Palmer (5-0) vs. John Devine (7-5)

The entire first round was contested on the feet and was extremely close. Neither man did much damage, but Devine likely won the round. The second round was a mirror image of the first, except this time Devine was also able to stuff all of Palmer's takedown attempts. Devine continued to frustrate Palmer in the third round by stuffing takedown after takedown. Palmer was able to get a huge slam with about 30 seconds left in the round, but it was too little too late.

John Devine (8-5) beat Orville Palmer (5-1) by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Main Card:

Pat Healy (27-17) vs. Caros Fodor (7-2)

The first round really got the fans going. Healy came out and was absolutely throwing bombs and was dominating Fodor and looked like he hurt him at one point. Fodor was able to turn things around though and got the takedown. He went for an armbar, but Healy was able to avoid it and end up on top as the round ended. The second round slowed down a bit as Healy controlled Fodor up against the cage for the majority of the round. He landed some nice strikes and you could tell the body of Fodor was taking a beating. Fodor eventually pulled guard to stop the punishment and once again Healy ended the round on top. Both men looked tired in the third round. Healy eventually secured a takedown and landed some nice strikes while on top. He tried for a kimura, but was unsuccessful. Fodor locked on a guillotine out of nowhere and had it on Healy for about a minute. His arms gassed out though and for a third straight round, Healy ended on top.

Pat Healy (28-17) beat Caros Fodor (7-3) by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Comments: Healy is beginning to put a nice win streak together and may not be able to fly under the radar much longer. Lightweight division, take notice.

Gunnar Nelson (10-0-1) vs. Bret Bergmark (7-2-1)

Nelson looked really tentative in the first round. Neither men did much and Bergmark was able to stuff both takedown attempts from Nelson. Too close to call. Nelson looked more relaxed in the second round and was able to get the takedown. He moved effortlessly from half guard, to side control and then took Bergmark's back. He locked in the rear naked choke and Bergmark quickly tapped out.

Gunnar Nelson (11-0-1) beat Bret Bergmark (7-3-1) by Submission (Rear Naked Choke) in 3:24 of round 2

Comments: Nelson lived up to the hype with a nice victory here.

Women's Welterweight Championship:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_MarloesCoenen-1.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_LizCarmouche-1.jpg

Marloes Coenen © (19-4) vs. Liz Carmouche (6-0)

Coenen came out and rocked Carmouche in the first, sending her to the mat. She ended up in half guard and worked hard the remainder of the round to get pass guard, but Carmouche did a great job preventing her from doing so. Carmouche was able to pin Coenen up against the cage in the second round and punish her with dirty boxing for much of the round. Coenen tried a takedown and a standing guillotine, but Carmouche shrugged both off and easily won the round. Coenen was able to get Carmouche up against the cage in the third round and secure a trip takedown. She wasn't able to keep Carmouche down for long though. This went on a couple more times as Coenen would take her down and Carmouche would get back to her feet. The fourth round started slow, but then Coenen slipped past a jab and hit an enormous right hook which sent Carmouche down hard. Coenen quickly pounced on her and rained down punches until the referee jumped in for the save.

Marloes Coenen © (20-4) beat Liz Carmouche (6-1) by TKO in 2:44 of round 4 to retain her Women's Welterweight Championship

Comments: Coenen has now defended her title twice and there doesn't appear to be anymore challengers within the organization. Strikeforce will need to look elsewhere for the next challenger.

Fedor Emelianenko (32-3, 1 NC) vs. Paul Buentello (29-14)

Fedor looked like the Fedor of old in this one. Once he got a hold of the clinch he brutalized Buentello with elbows and knees. One elbow opened up a nasty cut above the eye of Buentello. Fedor continued the punishment and blood was pouring into the eye of Buentello. The ref paused the fight so the doctor could check the cut. It was too deep and not in a good spot and the doctor called an end to the fight.

Fedor Emelianenko (33-3, 1 NC) beat Paul Buentello (29-15) by TKO in 4:49 of round 1

Comments: It may be premature to say that Fedor is back, but he definitely looked much better this time out and took a huge step in the right direction.

Huge Breaking News!!!

September 24, 2011

In an interview with Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker held the morning of Strikeforce Challengers 19, he broke several bits of huge news.

A New Silent Money Man Emerges:

The first, and most important bit of news, was that Strikeforce had been sold several weeks ago to a new silent partner. Speculation is running wild on who it could be, but Coker would not comment. All he would say is that after the UFC stole Josh Barnett out from under them and then they got wind the UFC was negotiating with champions Paul Daley and Ronaldo Souza, he knew that something drastic needed to be done. That is when he put some feelers out to several different investors. Coker now feels that with their new financial backing, Strikeforce will be able to compete with the UFC.

Champions Re-sign Long Term Deals:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_PaulDaley.gifhttp://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_RonaldoSouza.gif

Coker stated the first bit of business was to make sure the UFC did not steal two of their champions. Luckily, with their new financial backer, Strikeforce was able to put lucrative offers on the table and lock up both Daley (#5 WW) and Souza (#4 MW) long term.

Women's Divisions Dissolved:

The only bit of bad new announced in the press conference by Coker was that effective immediately, the Women's Divisions are no more. He stated it was a tough decision to make as he has always been a huge supporter of women's MMA, but it was a business decision to help the company moving forward.

Featherweight Phenom Joins Lightweight Division:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_BibianoFernandes.jpg

The former DREAM Featherweight Champion, Bibiano Fernandes (#5 FW), will be bringing his 10-3 record to the Strikeforce lightweight division. He immediately becomes a top 5 contender and is an intriguing matchup for current champ Gilbert Melendez (#4 LW).

Strikeforce Fires Back at UFC, Steals Two Top Talents:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_BensonHenderson.gifhttp://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_DemianMaia.gif

Coker saved the biggest announcement for last. Strikeforce was able to outbid the UFC and sign long term deals with former WEC Lightweight Champion, Ben Henderson (#13 LW), and top Middleweight contender, Demian Maia (#5 MW). Henderson brings an impressive 14-2 record to the Strikeforce lightweight division and Maia brings an equally impressive 16-2 record to the Strikeforce middleweight division.

Coker also mentioned they are currently in negotiations with some other top name talent, but he would not disclose specifics at this time.

Strikeforce - Henderson vs. King Mo Announced:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/DanHenderson.jpg vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/MuhammedLawal.gif

Light Heavyweight Championship, Dan Henderson © (28-8) vs. Muhammed Lawal (8-1):

Henderson is riding a nice 3 fight win streak and was the first Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion to successfully defend the title when he submitted Gegard Mousasi his last time out. He would like a repeat performance and to stay on top in the Light Heavyweight division. The former champion, "King Mo," is looking to reclaim the title he lost a little over a year ago. It will be interesting to see if the wrestling of both fighters cancels out and we are left with a stand up war. If that is the case, "Hendo" likely has the advantage in this one.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_NickDiaz.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_TyronWoodley.jpg

Welterweight, Nick Diaz (24-8, 1 NC) vs. Tyron Woodley (9-0):

Diaz tasted defeat for the first time in 3 1/2 years his last time out when he dropped the Welterweight Championship to Paul Daley. A victory here could put him right back into title contention. Woodley is the biggest prospect in Strikeforce and will be facing his toughest foe to date. With a win, Woodley would almost certainly be in line for a title shot.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_BrandonVera.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_GegardMousasi.jpg

Light Heavyweight, Brandon Vera (11-7) vs. Gegard Mousasi (31-4-1):

After starting his career on an 8 fight winning streak, Vera finds himself at a crossroads in his career as his record now stands at 11-7 and he has dropped 4 straight. His back is against the wall and he desperately needs to get back into the win column. Mousasi was on a 3 fight winning streak until he was defeated by the current champion, Henderson. The DREAM Light Heavyweight Champion really has nothing to gain with a victory here and everything to lose if he is defeated. With a victory though, Mousasi would effectively end Vera's Strikeforce career and possibly his MMA career.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_AlexanderSarnavskiy.jpg vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_BillyEvangelista.gif

Lightweight, Alexander Sarnavskiy (14-0) vs. Billy Evangelista (11-1, 1 NC):

Undefeated Russian phenom, Sarnavskiy, will try to make an immediate impact in his Strikeforce debut. He will be facing a tough opponent in Evangelista, but a victory here will serve as notice to the rest of the Lightweight division that he is a force to be reckoned with. It was only 6 short months ago that Evangelista was undefeated. However, he lost to Jorge Masvidal and now the pressure that comes with being undefeated is gone and he can focus on climbing back up the Lightweight ladder.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_BenSaunders.jpg vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_EvangelistaSantos.gif

Welterweight, Ben Saunders (11-4-2) vs. Evangelista Santos (18-14):

Both of these fighters will be fighting to better position themselves in the Welterweight rankings. It will be interesting to see if Saunders decides to stand and trade with the heavy handed "Cyborg" or not.

Prelims:

Heavyweight, Jared Rosholt (0-0) vs. Devin Cole (19-9-1)

Light Heavyweight, Scott Lighty (7-2) vs. George Bush (6-3)

Welterweight, John Salgado (3-6-1) vs. Xavier Lucas (9-2-1)

Feelin some upsets for this one...

Vera is plagued with the Arlovski syndrome...lost all relevancy. My boy, Diaz will prevail, eventually proving his loss to Daley was a fluke, and Hendo's age is gonna catch up to him as King Mo takes the fight into the later rounds...the 40yr old H-Bomb is leaking some uranium.

Challengers 19

September 24, 2011

HP Pavilion in San Jose, California

Live on Showtime

Prelims:

Spencer Herns (1-1) vs. Jorge Lopez (8-1)

Herns was able to get a quick takedown in the first round and control Lopez on the mat for the entire round. He had mount on two occasions, but Lopez was able to scramble back to guard both times. Herns pushed Lopez up against the cage in the second round and lifted him up and slammed him down hard. Again, he rode out the rest of the round in control on top; much to the displeasure of the fans. The third round was much of the same. Takedown by Herns followed by blanketing Lopez. The fans booed loudly given the lack of action in this one.

Spencer Herns (2-1) beat Jorge Lopez (8-2) by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Comments: Despite the boring fight, this was a nice victory for Herns over a tough opponent.

Lukasz Sajewski (9-0) vs. Nick Gonzalez (16-10, 1 NC)

There was a slight feeling out process to begin the first round, but then Sajewski exploded forward with a successful takedown attempt. He was able to move into side control with ease and locked on a sick looking kimura, forcing Gonzalez to tap.

Lukasz Sajewski (10-0) beat Nick Gonzalez (16-11, 1 NC) by Submission (Kimura) in 2:29 of round 1

Comments: I think everyone expected Sajewski to come out victorious, but he was still extremely impressive in his Strikeforce debut and the Lighweight division should take notice.

Main Card:

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_MylesJury-1.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_NateMoore-1.gif

Myles Jury (9-0) vs. Nate Moore (8-2)

This matchup was bumped to the main card due to the Women's divisions being scrapped and the Gracie vs. Kujala fight being canceled. Moore came out strong in the first round and was able to secure the takedown. He moved quickly into side control and was very close to finishing Jury with an arm triangle. Jury was able to weather the storm though and survive to fight another round. Jury was able to keep the fight standing in the second round and he got the better of the exchanges. He didn't do much damage, but he definitely appeared to take the round. There was some nice back and forth striking in the third round with Jury possibly having the slight edge, but Moore may have stolen the round with a takedown with just 30 seconds left in the round.

Nate Moore (9-2) beat Myles Jury (9-1) by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Comments: Moore has a nice winning streak going and is quietly moving up the Welterweight ladder.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_BobbyStack-1.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_JoshLaBerge-1.gif

Bobby Stack (9-2) vs. Josh LaBerge (9-4)

Stack was able to fight off the takedowns of LaBerge in the first round, but LaBerge dominated the striking game. There was some nice stand up in the first part of the second round until Stack was finally able to take LaBerge down. He didn't do much damage on the ground, but he was able to keep him down and control the round. Stack was able to get a quick takedown in the third round and control LaBerge. Just when it looked like Stack was going to be content to ride out the remainder of the round and take the decision victory, he exploded and unloaded with brutal elbows that LaBerge could not handle and the ref jumped in to stop the fight.

Bobby Stack (10-2) beat Josh LaBerge (9-5) by TKO in 4:21 of round 3

Comments: Stack looked great and was able to bounce back nicely after being dominated in the first round. He has now strung a couple of victories together and will look to keep the momentum rolling.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_SiyarBahadurzada-1.gif vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/th_LouisTaylor-1.gif

Siyar Bahadurzada (19-4-1) vs. Louis Taylor (7-2)

There was some very nice stand up in the first round, but the difference appeared to be the crisp leg kicks that Taylor landed over and over. The second round was all Taylor as he was able to dominate the stand up and he put Bahadurzada down hard at one point. Taylor came out with a flurry in the third round and rocked Bahadurzada. Bahadurzada was able to keep his wits though and he came back and appeared to win the remainder of the round with nice, solid combinations.

Louis Taylor (8-2) beat Siyar Bahadurzada (19-5-1) by Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3

Comments: Taylor was able to pull off the huge upset against a ranked opponent and most likely earned his way onto a big card against a top tier opponent.

http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/DanielCormier-1.jpg vs. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z391/JayT23/ShaneDelRosario.gif

Daniel Cormier (7-1) vs. Shane del Rosario (10-1)

Cormier was able to get the takedown early in the first round. He worked into position and was able to take del Rosario's back. He tried for the rear naked choke, but del Rosario was able to fight it off. Cormier rolled del Rosario back over and mounted him and unloaded with punches and hammer fists until the referee had seen enough.

Daniel Cormier (8-1) beat Shane del Rosario (10-2) by TKO in 3:05 of round 1

Comments: This was a dominating and very important win for Cormier. It should catapult him right back into the heavyweight mix.
