Pre-Show: Santino Marella versus Husky Harris

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Santino Marella defeated Husky Harris in 17:52 by pinfall with a Cobra Strike.

Match Rating: C-

The show begins with the WWE Champion, The Miz coming to the ring. The Miz says that two weeks ago on RAW he successfully defended his WWE Championship against John Morrison and last week he did the same against Mark Henry. Miz says that the Anonymous General Manager can force him to defend the title every week on RAW until Wrestlemania if it makes him feel powerful, but The Miz will keep retaining his title. Miz says that he will defeat Goldust in tonight’s main event and retain his WWE Championship for the third week in a row, before going on to retain the title against CM Punk at Wrestlemania. The leader of the New Nexus, CM Punk, then makes his way to the entrance-way and says that he doesn’t care if it’s The Miz or Goldust who he challenges for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania, because he feels that he will be leaving Wrestlemania with the title regardless.

Rating: A

The WWE United States Champion Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring and proclaims that since he defeated Sheamus at the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View to become the United States Champion for a second time he has believed in himself more, and that he will defend the title successfully against Primo at Wrestlemania. For the third week in a row John Cena then interrupts Daniel Bryan in the ring. John Cena apologises to Daniel Bryan, but says that the only thing that matters at this year’s Wrestlemania is him defeating The Undertaker in their inter-promotional match and finally ending The Undertaker’s legendary Wrestlemania undefeated streak.

Rating: B

David Otunga, a member of the New Nexus and one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions makes his way to the ring. Otunga says that he and Michael McGuillicutty will retain their WWE Tag Team Championships against Kane and the Big Show at Wrestlemania.

Rating: B+

Michael McGuillicutty of the New Nexus, David Otunga’s partner and the other half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, then joins Otunga in the ring to reiterate that he and Otunga will defeat Kane and the Big Show in their contractual rematch at Wrestlemania and successfully defend their WWE Tag Team Championships.

Rating: B+

The WWE Divas Champion Natalya comes to the ring and says that at Wrestlemania she will defeat both Maryse and Kelly Kelly in a Triple Threat match to retain her Divas Championship. Just like last week, Brie Bella then comes to the ring and distracts Natalya long enough for Maryse to sneak up behind her and hit Natalya with a DDT. Natalya is in unconscious on the mat as Brie and Maryse shake hands.

Rating: C

John Morrison comes to the ring and says that he will defeat Drew McIntyre at Wrestlemania in their inter-promotional match, but that he’s not so confident about RAW’s chances in William Regal’s inter-promotional match at Wrestlemania against the high-flying Rey Mysterio from SmackDown! Goldust then comes to the ring and asks John Morrison for help if Alex Riley tries to get involved in tonight’s main event when Goldust will challenge The Miz for the WWE Championship. Morrison agrees to step in and stop Riley from interfering in tonight’s Championship match.

Evan Bourne comes to the ring and says that he is disappointed not to be on the card for this year’s Wrestlemania and is also disappointed for himself losing to Sheamus so quickly last week on Superstars. Bourne does admit, however, that he has only recently returned from a serious shoulder injury, and promises that by the time he fully recovers, he will get back to winning ways, and may even headline next year’s Wrestlemania. Tyson Kidd then rushes to the ring and kicks Bourne in the injured shoulder. Bourne then applies an arm-bar, almost tearing the shoulder out of the socket. Bourne is in agony in the ring as Kidd eventually restrains himself.

SmackDown! begins with the Intercontinental Champion, Wade Barrett, coming to the ring. Barrett says that at Wrestlemania he will defeat both Ezekiel Jackson and Dolph Ziggler in a Triple Threat match to retain his Intercontinental title. He also says that the World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger, is a very good friend of his and he will also be victorious at Wrestlemania when he defends his title against the winner of the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton, in the main event. Barrett then says that he and Swagger will defeat Randy Orton and Ezekiel Jackson in tonight’s tag team main event.

Rating: A

Randy Orton then comes to the ring to confront Wade Barrett. Orton says that he doesn’t care if Wade Barrett retains his title successfully in the Triple Threat Intercontinental Championship match with Dolph Ziggler and Ezekiel Jackson at Wrestlemania, and that all he cares about is beating Jack Swagger in the main event of Wrestlemania and becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion. Swagger then rushes to the ring and hits Orton across the skull with the Championship belt, whilst Barrett distracts the Royal Rumble winner Orton. Orton is unconscious in the ring and looks severely weakened prior to tonight’s tag team main event which will see Swagger team with Wade Barrett to take on Randy Orton and Ezekiel Jackson.

Rating: A*

The Undertaker comes to the ring and says that at Wrestlemania he will defeat John Cena in the inter-promotional match and continue to be undefeated at Wrestlemania. Rey Mysterio then comes to the ring and says that the only inter-promotional match that matters at Wrestlemania is his battle with RAW’s William Regal. Rey promises to defeat Regal at Wrestlemania and prove that high-flying is an effective wrestling style.

Rating: A

Dolph Ziggler comes to the ring and says that he is not wrestling tonight, whereas both Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson are wrestling in the main event. Ziggler says that this gives him an advantage heading into the Wrestlemania Triple Threat match for Wade Barrett’s Intercontinental title with Ziggler and Jackson. Ziggler says that he will be fresher at Wrestlemania, whereas Jackson and Barrett will end up getting hurt tonight when they participate in the main event, which will be Wade Barrett teaming with the World Champion Jack Swagger to take on Ezekiel Jackson and the winner of the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton. Ezekiel Jackson then joins Ziggler in the ring and says that he has a lot of respect for Randy Orton, and hopes that he will defeat Jack Swagger at Wrestlemania in the main event to become the new World Heavyweight Champion, just as Jackson says he will beat both Ziggler and the Champion Barrett at Wrestlemania in the Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship.

Kane comes to the ring and promises that he and Big Show will defeat David Otunga and Michael McGuillicutty of the New Nexus at Wrestlemania to once again become WWE Tag Team Champions. McIntyre then says that he needs to send another statement to Morrison and kicks Kane in the gut before hitting him with a Future-Shock DDT, leaving Kane writhing in pain in the ring.

Rating: C+

As McIntyre looks to run away from the ring following his assault on Kane the Big Show comes to the ring. McIntyre immediately runs away through the crowd and says that he’ll pick and choose when he fights, and he doesn’t want to risk injuring himself before his inter-promotional contest with John Morrison at Wrestlemania. Big Show then helps Kane to his feet and says that this minor setback won’t be enough to stop him and Kane from beating Michael McGuillicutty and David Otunga of the New Nexus at Wrestlemania to win back their WWE Tag Team Championships.
