The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown!:

World Heavyweight Championship: Big Show © vs. Ianshoku Dieno

At the WWE Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View back in January Big Show defeated the former World Heavyweight Champion the Undertaker as well as the Undertaker’s brother Kane in a Triple Threat match to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the very first time. At last month’s WWE Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View Big Show made his first successful title defence as he defeated Kane, Undertaker, Drew McIntyre, Edge and JTG in an Elimination Chamber match. Following Big Show’s gruelling Elimination Chamber match he then retained his title again after Dolph Ziggler cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase. After retaining his World title twice on the same night at the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View, Big Show thought he was headed to defend his World title in the main event of Wrestlemania against the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble match, Sheamus. However, the Friday Night SmackDown! General Manager Vickie Guerrero had other ideas and declared that Big Show would have to defend his World title every week on SmackDown! up until Wrestlemania if he was to go on to defend the title on the Grandest Stage of All against Sheamus. Three weeks ago, Big Show defended the World title against Rob Conway, two weeks ago he did the same against Cody Deaner and last week Big Show made his third title defence is as many weeks as he defeated Curt Hawkins. Tonight, in SmackDown!’s main event, Big Show will look to make his sixth successful title defence as he puts the World title on the line against Ianshoku Dieno. Tonight will be the first match that Big Show has ever had against Dieno.

Intercontinental Champion Jack Swagger & Undertaker vs. Ezekiel Jackson & Kane

At Wrestlemania the Undertaker will put his legendary undefeated streak on the line in a Triple Threat match for the very first time as he will take on both Edge as well as his brother Kane. The WWE Intercontinental Champion Jack Swagger will also be in action at Wrestlemania as he will put his title on the line against Ezekiel Jackson. Before Wrestlemania, however, the Undertaker will team with Jack Swagger tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! to take on the team of Jackson and his partner, Kane. Tonight will be the first time that this particular tag team match has ever taken place.

WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston versus Joey Mercury

Kofi Kingston and his tag team partner from Monday Night RAW Evan Bourne will put their WWE Tag Team Championships on the line at Wrestlemania against the team of Epico and Darren Young, but before that Kingston will take on Joey Mercury in singles action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! Tonight will be the first ever time that Kingston and Mercury will have faced one another on SmackDown!, adding to the “First Time Ever” feel of tonight’s show. Kingston has been impressive in recent weeks, with a victory over Rob Conway two weeks ago on SmackDown! and a win against Cody Deaner last week.

God versus Curt Hawkins

Also tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! the mysterious God will take on Curt Hawkins in singles competition. Tonight will be the first ever singles meeting between God and Hawkins on SmackDown!, however both men were involved in the Royal Rumble match back in January, which was won by the “Celtic Warrior” Sheamus. Both men also competed in last year’s Royal Rumble match, which was won by the currently injured “Viper” Randy Orton. God and Hawkins also both took part in the Battle Royal prior to last year’s Wrestlemania, which God went on to win.

Slam Master J versus Cody Deaner

The charismatic and unpredictable Slam Master J will also be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! as he takes on the intriguing Cody Deaner. This match has taken place once before on SmackDown! with Slam Master J picking up the all-important victory over Deaner last month in February. Cody Deaner failed to defeat Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship in SmackDown!’s main event two weeks ago and also lost to one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Kofi Kingston, last week so will be looking to pick up a victory tonight.

WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix, Kaitlyn & Rosa vs. Team Lay-Cool & Vickie

At Wrestlemania Beth Phoenix will put her WWE Divas Championship on the line in a Triple Threat match against Monday Night RAW’s Alicia Fox and Maryse. Before Wrestlemania, however, Beth will lead the team of Kaitlyn and Rosa Mendes in a Six-Diva tag team match tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! against the team of Layla, Michelle McCool and the Friday Night SmackDown! General Manager Vickie Guerrero. This match has taken place several times in recent months with Beth’s team picking up the all-important victory in all of their matches so far. Can Beth’s team get another win tonight or will Team Lay-Cool and Vickie get the win they’ve been searching for?

Finally, we will also hear from the both Champion and Challenger in tonight’s World Heavyweight Championship main event tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! as the reigning World Heavyweight Champion Big Show as well as tonight’s challenger, Ianshoku Dieno, will give their thoughts heading into tonight’s main event. We will also hear from the 2012 Royal Rumble match winner Sheamus tonight on SmackDown!, the man who will challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania. What will Big Show have to say before he defends his title once again later tonight?

Quick Picks:

World Heavyweight Championship: Big Show © versus Ianshoku Dieno

Intercontinental Champion Jack Swagger & Undertaker vs. Ezekiel Jackson & Kane

WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston versus Joey Mercury

God versus Curt Hawkins

Slam Master J versus Cody Deaner

WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix, Kaitlyn & Rosa vs. Team Lay-Cool & Vickie

Bryan says that he doesn’t mind the New Nexus anymore and hopes that Slater and Gabriel will defeat the team of Triple H and David Hart Smith in their match this Sunday at Wrestlemania. Bryan also announces that both Triple H and David Hart Smith will be in singles action tonight on RAW as Triple H will face Epico whilst David Hart Smith will take on Darren Young. Bryan says that he doesn’t care who wins the WWE Tag Team Championship match at Wrestlemania when Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston put their titles on the line against Epico and Young and that he also doesn’t care who wins tonight’s match between Evan Bourne and Michael McGuillicutty.

WWE Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne versus Michael McGuillicutty

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Evan Bourne defeated Michael McGuillicutty in 7:44 by pinfall with a Shooting Star Press.

Match Rating: B-

Following New Nexus member Michael McGuillicutty’s loss to one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions Evan Bourne, Bourne celebrates in the ring before heading to the back. Michael McGuillicutty slowly gets to his feet only to be joined in the ring by the WWE Champion the Miz. Miz tells McGuillicutty that he will defeat him this Sunday at Wrestlemania to retain his WWE Championship just like Bourne defeated him tonight. Miz also claims that he and the WWE United States Champion John Morrison will win tonight’s Monday Night RAW tag team main event against McGuillicutty’s fellow New Nexus stable-mates Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel. Miz finally says that he believes Morrison will defeat RAW’s Money in the Bank winner Daniel Bryan this Sunday at Wrestlemania to retain his US Championship.

New Nexus member Michael McGuillicutty has clearly heard enough of the WWE Champion the Miz, and McGuillicutty is also still angry following his loss to one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions Evan Bourne. McGuillicutty chooses to ignore Miz and heads to the back. The WWE United States Champion John Morrison then joins the Miz in the ring. Miz hands Morrison the microphone and Morrison says that he believes that this Sunday at Wrestlemania, just as Miz will defeat McGuillicutty to retain his WWE Championship; John Morrison will defeat Monday Night RAW’s Money in the Bank winner Daniel Bryan to retain his United States Championship. Morrison also claims that he and Miz will be victorious in tonight’s tag team main event against the team of New Nexus members Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel. Morrison says that he can’t stand the New Nexus and that he hopes Triple H and David Hart Smith are able to defeat Slater and Gabriel at Wrestlemania. Morrison says that he thinks David Hart Smith will defeat Darren Young later tonight just as Triple H defeated Young’s partner Epico earlier. Morrison also says that he believes Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston will retain their WWE Tag Team Championships against Epico and Young this Sunday at Wrestlemania.

Rating: B-

David Hart Smith comes to the ring for his scheduled match against Darren Young but firstly takes a microphone and says that he is looking forward to teaming with Triple H this Sunday at Wrestlemania to take on the team of New Nexus members Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel. Before Smith can say anything else, however, New Nexus members Michael McGuillicutty, Slater, Gabriel and Husky Harris rush to the ring and attack him. Michael McGuillicutty, who will challenge the Miz for the WWE Championship this Sunday at Wrestlemania, hits Smith over the skull repeatedly with right hands whilst Slater, Gabriel and Harris hold him down. Triple H and the Miz then rush to the ring in aid of David Hart Smith but the New Nexus still have the numerical advantage over Smith, Miz and Triple H. Ted DiBiase then shockingly rushes to the ring and clotheslines Husky Harris out of the ring. Triple H then throws both Slater and Gabriel out of the ring whilst McGuillicutty leaves the ring of his own accord after a stare-down with the Miz. The New Nexus head to the back whilst Triple H, Miz and DiBiase help David Hart Smith to his feet.

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown!: </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<strong>World Heavyweight Championship: Big Show © versus Joey Mercury</strong></p><p>

At the WWE Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View back in January Big Show defeated the former World Heavyweight Champion the Undertaker as well as Undertaker’s brother Kane in a Triple Threat match to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion for the very first time. Also at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View, Sheamus defeated 29 other Superstars from both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown! to win the 2012 Royal Rumble match to earn a shot at a World Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania. Sheamus chose to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania and therefore moved to SmackDown! Meanwhile, Big Show made his first successful defence of the World title at last month’s Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View as he defeated Kane, Edge, the Undertaker, Drew McIntyre and JTG in an Elimination Chamber match. Big Show then went on to defend the title again straight after the Chamber match as Dolph Ziggler became the first person to cash in their Money in the Bank briefcase and fail to become a new World Champion. Following Big Show’s two successful title defences at the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View, Big Show was of the belief that he would go on to defend the World title against Sheamus in the main event of Wrestlemania. However, SmackDown! General Manager Vickie Guerrero had other ideas and declared that Big Show must defend his World title every week on SmackDown! leading up until Wrestlemania and only then would he be able to headline against Sheamus on the “Grandest Stage of them All”. For the last four weeks, Big Show has successfully retained his title as he has defeated Rob Conway, Cody Deaner, Curt Hawkins and Ianshoku Dieno. Tonight Big Show will defend his World title on SmackDown! for the final time as he takes on Joey Mercury in the evening’s main event. The winner of tonight’s match will then go on to defend the World Championship against Sheamus in the main event of Wrestlemania this Sunday. Tonight will be the first time that Big Show has ever faced Joey Mercury in singles competition.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWE Intercontinental Champion Jack Swagger & The Undertaker vs. Kane & Edge</strong></p><p>

This Sunday at Wrestlemania the Undertaker will put his undefeated streak at Wrestlemania on the line as he faces both his brother Kane as well as Edge in a Triple Threat match. The WWE Intercontinental Champion Jack Swagger will also be in action this Sunday at Wrestlemania as he will put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Ezekiel Jackson. Before Wrestlemania this Sunday, however, Jack Swagger will team with the Undertaker tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! to take on the team of Kane and Edge. Tonight will be the first time that this particular tag team match will have ever taken place.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston versus Ianshoku Dieno</strong></p><p>

One half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Kofi Kingston, will also be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! as he will take on Ianshoku Dieno. This Sunday at Wrestlemania Kofi Kingston and his tag team partner from Monday Night RAW, Evan Bourne, will put their WWE Tag Team Championships on the line against the team of Epico and Darren Young. Kingston’s match against Dieno tonight will be yet another “first time ever” encounter, although Kingston and Dieno were both involved in the Battle Royal prior to last year’s Wrestlemania, which was ultimately won by the mysterious God.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Slam Master J versus Drew McIntyre</strong></p><p>

The “Sinister Scotsman” Drew McIntyre will also be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! as he will take on the fun loving and charismatic Slam Master J. Tonight will be the first time that Slam Master J and Drew McIntyre have ever faced one another on SmackDown!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Finlay versus Cody Deaner</strong></p><p>

In what is sure to be a very competitive match between a veteran and a rookie tonight on Friday Night SmackDown!, the Irishman Finlay will take on the intriguing Cody Deaner in singles action. This match between Finlay and Deaner will be yet another first time encounter, adding to the “first time ever” theme of tonight’s show. Finlay suffered an assault at the hands of Drew McIntyre last week on SmackDown! so will be looking to show he’s back to full health with an all-important victory over Deaner tonight.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kaitlyn versus Layla</strong></p><p>

The Divas will also be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! as the beautiful Kaitlyn will take on one half of Team Lay-Cool, Layla. Kaitlyn and Layla have faced one another in singles action once before on SmackDown! as Kaitlyn defeated Layla back in February of last year. For the last four weeks in a row on SmackDown! Kaitlyn has teamed with the WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix and Rosa Mendes to defeat the team of Layla, Michelle McCool and the SmackDown! General Manager Vickie Guerrero in Six Diva tag team matches so Layla will be seeking revenge with a victory of her own in singles action tonight.</p><p> </p><p>

Finally, we will hear from the World Heavyweight Champion, the Big Show, tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! before he puts his World Championship on the line in the evening’s main event against Joey Mercury. We will also hear from Mercury, the challenger in the evening’s main event, tonight on SmackDown! as well as the man that will face the winner of tonight’s main event for the World Heavyweight Championship this Sunday at Wrestlemania, the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble match, Sheamus. What will Big Show have to say heading into what could be his final title defence on SmackDown! tonight?</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Before Big Show can answer Stanford, however, Wade Barrett walks into the interview area and wishes Big Show the best of luck in tonight’s main event. Big Show and Barrett shake hands as Sheamus walks into the interview area and tells Barrett that Big Show will need all the luck he can get if he’s to leave tonight with the World title. The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW:

Champ vs. Champ: Non-Title: WWE Champ Daniel Bryan vs. US Champ Morrison

Last night at Wrestlemania the evening began with the WWE United States Champion John Morrison defeating Monday Night RAW’s Money in the Bank winner Daniel Bryan to successfully retain his United States Championship. Later in the evening the WWE Champion the Miz successfully retained his WWE Championship against Michael McGuillicutty of the New Nexus only for Daniel Bryan to shockingly cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase immediately following Miz’s victory. Daniel Bryan then defeated the Miz to become the new WWE Champion for the very first time. Tonight, in RAW’s non-title Champion versus Champion main event, the new WWE Champion Daniel Bryan will take on the WWE United States Champion John Morrison just twenty-four hours after Morrison defeated Bryan to retain his US title. Tonight’s main event will be Morrison and Bryan’s second ever singles meeting after Morrison’s victory at Wrestlemania last night.

WWE Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne versus Darren Young

Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston successfully retained their WWE Tag Team Championships against Epico and Darren Young at Wrestlemania last night; and tonight on Monday Night RAW Bourne will look for a singles victory when he takes on Darren Young one-on-one. Tonight will be the third singles match between Bourne and Young after Darren Young managed to defeat Bourne on two previous occasions, once on an episode of RAW back in February and once back on an episode of RAW last month, in March. Young is therefore undefeated against Bourne in singles action, but Bourne and Kingston have now defeated Epico and Young on three separate occasions to successfully retain their WWE Tag Team Championships after victories at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View back in January, at the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View in February, and last night at Wrestlemania.

Rey Mysterio versus Epico

At Wrestlemania last night the team of Epico and Darren Young failed in their third attempt to win the WWE Tag Team Championships as Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston once again successfully retained their titles. Tonight on Monday Night RAW both Epico and Darren Young will look to bounce back as they will both be competing in singles matches. As well as Darren Young taking on one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Evan Bourne, tonight on RAW, Epico will also be in action as he will take on the high-flying Rey Mysterio. Tonight will be the very first time that Mysterio and Epico have ever faced one another, and it should be a tremendous fast-paced contest.

Triple H versus Michael McGuillicutty

Both Triple H as well as Michael McGuillicutty of the New Nexus were unsuccessful in their respective matches at Wrestlemania last night as Triple H and David Hart Smith lost their tag team match to the New Nexus pairing of Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel whilst Michael McGuillicutty failed in his quest to bring the WWE Championship back to the New Nexus as the Miz defeated McGuillicutty to successfully retain his WWE Championship shortly before Monday Night RAW’s Money in the Bank winner Daniel Bryan cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase, and went on to defeat the Miz to leave Wrestlemania as the new WWE Champion. Tonight on RAW Triple H will look to avenge his tag team loss to the New Nexus from last night as he takes on McGuillicutty in one-on-one action. Tonight will be the very first time that Triple H has ever faced McGuillicutty, so history will be made tonight on RAW.

Ted DiBiase versus Husky Harris

Another New Nexus member will also be in action tonight on Monday Night RAW as Husky Harris will take on Ted DiBiase, otherwise known as the “Fortunate Son”. Both DiBiase and Harris are second-generation Superstars as Harris is the son of Mike Rotunda whilst of course DiBiase is the son of his namesake, Ted DiBiase Sr. Both DiBiase and Harris were involved in the Battle Royal prior to Wrestlemania last night, which was ultimately won by the mysterious God of Friday Night SmackDown!, who also won the Battle Royal before last year’s Wrestlemania, which both DiBiase and Harris also participated in. Tonight will be the first ever singles match between DiBiase and Harris, and Harris in particular will be looking to impress his fellow New Nexus members with an all-important victory tonight.

Alex Riley versus Zack Ryder

The “Rare breed” Alex Riley will also be in action tonight on Monday Night RAW as he will take on “Long Island Iced Z” Zack Ryder. Both Riley and Ryder participated in the Battle Royal prior to Wrestlemania last night, a match that was ultimately won by the mysterious God of Friday Night SmackDown!, who also won the Battle Royal before last year’s Wrestlemania, which Riley and Ryder also both took part in. Ryder has defeated Riley on RAW for the past two weeks in a row, and the party-starter will be looking to make it a hat-trick of wins when he faces Riley again tonight.

Vladimir Kozlov versus Mark Henry

Finally, the “Moscow Mauler” Vladimir Kozlov will also be in action tonight on Monday Night RAW as he will face off against the “World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry in a battle of two behemoths. Both Kozlov and Henry also participated in the Battle Royal prior to Wrestlemania last night, which was ultimately won by the mysterious God of Friday Night SmackDown!, who also won the Battle Royal before last year’s Wrestlemania, which Kozlov and Henry also both took part in.

WWE Monday Night RAW (Live from the AL Ameris Arena, 2,785 in Attendance)

Pre-Show: Non-Title: WWE Divas Champion Maryse versus Alicia Fox

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Maryse defeated Alicia Fox in 17:36 by pinfall with a DDT.

Match Rating: D

Monday Night RAW begins with the new WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan, making his way to the ring. Bryan says that last night at Wrestlemania his evening didn’t start very well as he lost to the WWE United States Champion John Morrison, in the process failing to become US Champion once again. However, says Bryan, his evening got a lot better as he watched the Miz defeat New Nexus member Michael McGuillicutty in a gruelling match to retain his WWE Championship backstage. Bryan says that he knew it was the perfect time to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, and straight after Miz’s victory over McGuillicutty Bryan came to ring, beat the Miz and became the new WWE Champion for the very first time. The Miz then joins Bryan in the ring and says that he is fuming and wants a rematch against Bryan as soon as possible. The Anonymous Monday Night RAW General Manager then sends an email to Michael Cole announcing that at the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View Bryan will defend his WWE Championship against Rey Mysterio in a Falls Count Anywhere match whilst the Miz will challenge John Morrison for the United States Championship in a First Blood match. Finally, the General Manager announces that Bryan will take on Morrison in tonight’s non-title Champion versus Champion main event. The Miz then argues that he refuses to challenge Morrison for the US title and threatens to leave RAW if he doesn’t get a rematch for the WWE title. The Anonymous RAW General Manager then sends another email to Michael Cole declaring that he will find a replacement to challenge Morrison at Extreme Rules; and that due to Miz’s lack of respect for Morrison, the US title and the General Manager, his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment has been terminated, effective immediately. Miz is fired!

Rating: B

Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel of the New Nexus come to the ring, and Slater has a microphone in hand. Slater reminds us that last night at Wrestlemania he and Gabriel defeated Triple H and David Hart Smith. Slater then announces that at the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View he and Gabriel will join the team of Epico and Darren Young in challenging Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne for the WWE Tag Team Championships in a Triple Threat tag team match. Slater says that he knows that Bourne and Kingston defeated Epico and Young to retain their titles at Wrestlemania last night, but that it will be a different story when the New Nexus are also challengers at Extreme Rules.

Rating: C-

Alicia Fox comes to the ring and says that she is disappointed that she was unable to become the new WWE Divas Champion last night at Wrestlemania as Maryse defeated Alicia as well as the former Champion, Beth Phoenix of Friday Night SmackDown!, in their Triple Threat match. Alicia then announces that at the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View she and Beth will challenge Maryse for the title in another Triple Threat match. The new Divas Champion, Maryse, then joins Alicia in the ring and says that last night she did what Alicia couldn’t do; bring the WWE Divas Championship back to Monday Night RAW.

Match Rating: B

Alicia Fox returns to the ring and says that she’s finding it difficult to get over the disappointment of Wrestlemania last night when she failed to be the one to bring the WWE Divas Championship back to Monday Night RAW as Maryse defeated Alicia as well as Friday Night SmackDown!’s former Champion Beth Phoenix in a Triple Threat match to become the new Divas Champion. However, Alicia says that at Extreme Rules she will defeat both Beth and Maryse in another Triple Threat match to win the Divas title. Natalya then comes to the ring and distracts Alicia for long enough that Maryse can slide into the ring and hit Alicia with a vicious DDT.

Rating: D+

Alex Riley versus Zack Ryder

In an extremely short match, Zack Ryder defeated Alex Riley in 3:14 by pinfall with a Zack Attack.

Jimmy has a microphone in hand and says that David Hart Smith let his tag team partner Triple H down in their match at Wrestlemania last night, and that Smith is a loser. Jimmy Uso then also says that William Regal is a loser, as he’s been in this business for over twenty years and he didn’t even have a match at Wrestlemania.

Rating: D+

Melina comes to the ring and says that she should be the one challenging Maryse for the WWE Divas Championship at the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View, not Alicia Fox and Beth Phoenix. Melina says that Beth Phoenix of Friday Night SmackDown! doesn’t deserve a rematch so soon after losing her title just last night. Melina says that she is the most dominant Diva on Monday Night RAW. Skip Sheffield then joins Melina in the ring and asks her how she would feel about joining the New Nexus, becoming their first ever female member. Melina tells Skip she'll think about it.

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown!:

Non-Title: World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus vs. Jack Swagger

This past Sunday at Wrestlemania, the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble, Sheamus, defeated Big Show in the evening’s main event to become the new World Heavyweight Champion for the very first time. Also at Wrestlemania this past Sunday, Jack Swagger lost his WWE Intercontinental Championship as Ezekiel Jackson defeated Swagger to become the new Intercontinental Champion. In tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown! non-title main event Sheamus will be in action for the very first time as World Champion as he will take on the “All American American” Jack Swagger. The former World Heavyweight Champion, Big Show, will also be in action tonight as he will take on Ezekiel Jackson in another non-title match. Sheamus and Swagger have met twice before in singles action with Swagger claiming two impressive victories over Sheamus on SmackDown!, once back in February and once last month, in March. Swagger was also one of the participants in this year’s Royal Rumble match, which Sheamus of course won.

Non-Title: WWE Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson versus Big Show

Ezekiel Jackson became the new WWE Intercontinental Champion for the second time this past Sunday at Wrestlemania as he defeated the former Champion Jack Swagger. Big Show was not as fortunate in his match at Wrestlemania this past Sunday as he lost his World Heavyweight Championship in the evening’s main event to the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble match, Sheamus. Sheamus will be in action in tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown! non-title main event against Swagger, and the new Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson will also be in action tonight as he will face Big Show in another non-title match. Tonight will be the first ever singles meeting between Jackson and Big Show although they have been partners on three previous occasions. In their most recent match together, last December, Big Show and Jackson teamed with Finlay in a Six-Man tag team SmackDown! main event in a losing effort against the team of the Undertaker, Cody Rhodes and Jack Swagger.

WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston versus Drew McIntyre

At Wrestlemania this past Sunday, Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne once again defeated the team of Epico and Darren Young, from Monday Night RAW, to successfully retain their WWE Tag Team Championships. We learnt this past Monday on RAW that Kingston and Bourne will now go on to defend their titles at the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View against Epico and Young as well as the New Nexus pairing of Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel in a Triple Threat tag team match. Slater and Gabriel were also victorious in their tag team match at Wrestlemania this past Sunday as they defeated the team of Triple H and David Hart Smith. Before Kingston and Bourne put their WWE Tag Team Championships on the line at Extreme Rules, however, Kingston will be in singles action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! against Drew McIntyre. Tonight will be the first time that Kingston and McIntyre have ever faced each other in one on one competition however they were both involved in the SmackDown! Money in the Bank ladder match last July as Dolph Ziggler defeated Kingston, McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, Christian and Ezekiel Jackson to win the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Finlay versus The Undertaker

The Undertaker made history this past Sunday at Wrestlemania as he defeated his brother Kane as well as Edge in his first ever Wrestlemania Triple Threat match to continue his legendary undefeated streak on the “Grandest Stage of them All”. Tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! the Undertaker will be in singles action as he will take on fellow veteran, the Fighting Irishman, Finlay. Both Finlay and the Undertaker have had a storied history and had quite the rivalry last year as the Undertaker defeated Finlay in a Casket match at last year’s Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View. The Undertaker also has two more singles victories over Finlay as he defeated him at last year’s WWE Fatal Four-Way Pay-Per-View last June as well as on an episode of SmackDown! last September. Tonight will however be the first time that Finlay and the Undertaker have competed against one another since last December when the Undertaker teamed with Cody Rhodes and Jack Swagger in a Six-Man tag team SmackDown! main event to defeat the team of Big Show, Finlay and Ezekiel Jackson.

Trent Barreta versus Cody Deaner

The high-flying risk taker and dare-devil known as Trent Barreta will also be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! as he will take on the frankly bizarre Cody Deaner. Both Barreta and Deaner competed in the Battle Royal prior to Wrestlemania this past Sunday, in a contest that was ultimately won by the mysterious God. Both Barreta and Deaner were also both participants in the 2012 Royal Rumble match back in January of this year, which was won by Sheamus. Tonight will however be the first time that Barreta and Deaner have ever competed against one another in singles competition.

Slam Master J versus Rob Conway

Finally, the charismatic Slam Master J will also be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! as he will take on the “Con Man” Rob Conway. Both Slam Master J and Conway also took part in the Battle Royal prior to Wrestlemania this past Sunday, in a match that was eventually won by the mysterious God. Tonight will be the very first time that Slam Master J and Rob Conway have ever wrestled against one another on SmackDown!, and it is sure to be a tremendously competitive spectacle. Slam Master J lost to Drew McIntyre last week on SmackDown! so will be looking to bounce back with a victory here tonight.

Quick Picks:

Non-Title: World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus versus Jack Swagger

Non-Title: WWE Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson versus Big Show

WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston versus Drew McIntyre

Following Ezekiel Jackson’s victory over Big Show in tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown! opening contest the new WWE Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson heads to the back. Big Show then slowly gets to his feet before taking a microphone from the ringside area. Big Show says that this past Sunday at Wrestlemania he unfortunately lost his World Heavyweight Championship in the evening’s main event to the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble match, Sheamus. Big Show says that he also saw Ezekiel Jackson defeat Jack Swagger at Wrestlemania this past Sunday to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and that he sadly just lost to Jackson in tonight’s match. Big Show then goes on to announce that despite losing two matches in the space of one week he will be using his contractually obligated rematch clause to challenge Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship in a Steel Cage match at the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View. Sheamus then joins Big Show in the ring and the pair have a stare-down before Big Show heads to the back. Sheamus then takes a microphone and says that later tonight he will take on Jack Swagger in the evening’s non-title main event, but first he would like to call Rosa Mendes to the ring. Sheamus says that he was mesmerised by Rosa Mendes in her victory over Monday Night RAW’s Natalya in their Inter-Promotional match this past Sunday at Wrestlemania. Rosa then joins Sheamus in the ring and congratulates him on becoming the World Heavyweight Champion, before kissing Sheamus on the cheek.

Rating: C+

The “All American American” Jack Swagger makes his way to the ring and says that unfortunately he lost his WWE Intercontinental Championship this past Sunday at Wrestlemania as Ezekiel Jackson defeated him to win the Intercontinental Championship. Swagger says that he saw Jackson’s victory over Big Show in non-title action earlier tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! and realises that it will take a lot to win his title back, but is confident that he will do so soon. Swagger then goes on to announce that at the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View he will join both Kane and Edge in challenging Jackson for the Intercontinental title in a Fatal Four-Way match. Swagger also says that he will defeat the new World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus in tonight’s non-title main event. Edge does proclaim, however, that he will be the one leaving Extreme Rules as the new Intercontinental Champion.

Rating: C+

Kane then joins both Jack Swagger and Edge in the ring, and Kane is quick to snatch Edge’s microphone out of his hands. Kane says that he is angry that he was unable to end the Wrestlemania undefeated streak of his brother the Undertaker this past Sunday at Wrestlemania as Undertaker defeated both Kane and Edge in their Triple Threat match. Kane says that he will take his anger out on everyone in his way at Extreme Rules when he will defeat the new WWE Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson, Jack Swagger and Edge in their Fatal Four-Way match to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Swagger then suddenly strikes Kane in the skull with a big boot, but instead of coming to Kane’s aid, Edge then heads to the back.

Rosa says that she will be watching tonight’s main event very closely as Sheamus takes on Jack Swagger in non-title action. The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW:

WWE Champion Daniel Bryan & Ryder vs. US Champion John Morrison & Mysterio

At the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View Daniel Bryan will put his newly won WWE Championship on the line in a Falls Count Anywhere match against the high-flying daredevil, Rey Mysterio. We also know that John Morrison will defend his WWE United States Championship in a First Blood match at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View, but we do not yet know his challenger after the Miz last week refused to challenge for Morrison’s title at Extreme Rules, leaving the Anonymous RAW General Manager to immediately terminate the Miz’s contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. The Miz will, however, have a chance to get his job back tonight on Monday Night RAW when he takes on Ted DiBiase. A victory for the Miz will grant him his place on the roster back, after the Anonymous RAW General Manager decided to give the Miz a chance to redeem himself tonight. Both the WWE Champion and the United States Champion, meanwhile, will face one another in tonight’s tag team main event as the WWE Champion Daniel Bryan teams with “Long Island Iced Z” Zack Ryder to take on the team of the WWE United States Champion John Morrison and his partner, Rey Mysterio. Tonight will be the very first time that this particular tag team match has ever taken place.

WWE Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne versus Heath Slater

One half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Evan Bourne, will also be in action tonight on Monday Night RAW as he will take on the “One Man Rock Band”, New Nexus member Heath Slater in singles competition. At the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View Evan Bourne and his tag team partner from Friday Night SmackDown!, Kofi Kingston, will put their WWE Tag Team Championships on the line in a Triple Threat tag team match against Heath Slater and his fellow New Nexus member and tag team partner, Justin Gabriel, as well as the team of Epico and Darren Young. Epico and Young will also be in action tonight on RAW as they will face the team of Triple H and David Hart Smith, who Slater and Gabriel defeated at Wrestlemania. Bourne and Slater have faced one another in singles action twice before on RAW, with Bourne winning on both occasions as he defeated Slater back in April of last year as well as picking up an all-important victory over Slater just last month, in March.

If The Miz Wins He Is Rehired: Ted DiBiase versus The Miz

A Wrestlemania just eight days ago the Miz went into the event as the reigning WWE Champion and then successfully defended his WWE Championship in his scheduled title defence against Michael McGuillicutty of the New Nexus. Things then turned sour for the Miz as straight after his victory over McGuillicutty, Daniel Bryan, Monday Night RAW’s Money in the Bank winner, cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and went onto defeat the Miz to become the new WWE Champion for the very first time. This was obviously a huge victory for Bryan after actually losing the opening match of Wrestlemania as the WWE United States Champion John Morrison defeated him to successfully retain his WWE United States Championship. Immediately after Miz lost his title at Wrestlemania he took a microphone and declared that Daniel Bryan does not deserve to hold the prestigious WWE Championship, Last week on RAW, the night after Wrestlemania, the Anonymous RAW General Manager then angered the Miz by giving Rey Mysterio the first title shot against Daniel Bryan in a Falls Count Anywhere match at the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View. Miz was granted a shot at the United States Championship in a First Blood match at Extreme Rules but he refused to accept this and threatened to leave RAW. The Anonymous RAW General Manager then immediately terminated Miz’s contract but one week later has decided to give Miz a second chance tonight and if the Miz is able to defeat the “Fortunate Son” Ted DiBiase he will be granted his job back. The Miz is undefeated against DiBiase having beaten him in one on one competition on three separate occasions, twice in May of last year and once last April, with all three matches taking place on RAW.

Triple H and David Hart Smith versus Epico and Darren Young

Finally, the team of Epico and Darren Young will also be in action tonight on Monday Night RAW as they will take on the duo of Triple H and David Hart Smith. At the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View Epico and Young will join the New Nexus pairing of Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel in challenging Evan Bourne and his tag team partner from Friday Night SmackDown!, Kofi Kingston, for the WWE Tag Team Championships. One half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Evan Bourne, will also be in action tonight on RAW as he will face Heath Slater, otherwise known as the “One Man Rock Band”, in singles action. Tonight will be the second time that Triple H and David Hart Smith have taken on Epico and Young in tag team action as last month on another episode of RAW, in March, Epico and Young took on and defeated Triple H and Smith, their first victory as a tag team. Last week on RAW Epico and Young had mixed fortunes as Young defeated Evan Bourne but Epico lost to Rey Mysterio, so they will be looking for another victory as team tonight.

The following contests are confirmed to take place on tonight’s edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown!:

World Champion Sheamus & IC Champion Ezekiel Jackson vs. Big Show & Swagger

At the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View Sheamus will put his newly won World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Big Show, the man who Sheamus defeated to win the World title in the main event of Wrestlemania, in a Steel Cage match. Also at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View, Ezekiel Jackson will put the WWE Intercontinental Championship he won at Wrestlemania on the line in a Fatal Four-Way match against the former Champion Jack Swagger, Kane and Edge. Before Extreme Rules, however, Sheamus will team with the Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson in tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown! tag team main event to take on the team of Big Show and Jack Swagger. Tonight will be the very first time that this particular tag team match will ever have taken place.

WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston versus Rob Conway

Also tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Kofi Kingston, will be in action as he will take on the “Con Man” Rob Conway in singles action. At the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View, Kingston and his tag team partner from Monday Night RAW Evan Bourne will defend their WWE Tag Team Championships in a Triple Threat tag team match against the New Nexus pairing of Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel as well as the team of Epico and Darren Young. Kingston and Conway have previously faced one another once before as Kingston defeated Conway on an episode of SmackDown! last month, in March.

Edge versus Joey Mercury

At the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View Edge will join both Kane and Jack Swagger in challenging Ezekiel Jackson for the WWE Intercontinental Championship in a Fatal Four-Way match, but before that Edge will take on Joey Mercury in one on one competition tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! The Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson will also be in action in tonight’s tag team main event when he will team with the World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus to take on the team of Big Show and Jack Swagger. Sheamus will also be in action at the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View as he will defend his World Heavyweight Championship in a Steel Cage match against the former Champion, Big Show, who is using his contractually obligated rematch after losing the World title to Sheamus in the main event of Wrestlemania. Tonight will be the very first time that Edge and Mercury have ever faced one another in singles action, although they were both involved in the 30 Man Royal Rumble match at the WWE Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View back in January, a match that was of course eventually won by Sheamus.

God versus The Undertaker

The legendary “Phenom” the Undertaker will also be in action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! as he will take on the mysterious God. Tonight will be the second time that God and the Undertaker will ever have faced one another in singles competition after the Undertaker defeated God on an episode of SmackDown! back in June of last year. Both God and the Undertaker were also participants in last year’s 30 Man Royal Rumble match, which was ultimately won by the “Viper” Randy Orton. God and the Undertaker also both competed in the Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship at last year’s Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View as then World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger defeated God, the Undertaker, Alberto Del Rio, Cody Rhodes and Edge to retain his World title.

Finlay versus Drew McIntyre

Two British Superstars will also face one another tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! as the Fighting Irishman from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Finlay will take on the sadistic Scotsman from Ayr, Scotland, Drew McIntyre. Tonight will be the seventh match that Finlay and McIntyre will have had against one another since the beginning of last year on SmackDown!, with McIntyre picking up the all-important victory in all six of their previous meetings as he defeated Finlay once in January of last year, twice in August of last year, once in September of last year and twice just last month in March. McIntyre also competed against Finlay at last year’s Survivor Series as the team of Dolph Ziggler, McIntyre, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger and JTG defeated Randy Orton and his team of Finlay, Edge, Kane and Big Show in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination match.

Randy Orton versus Cody Deaner

Speaking of Randy Orton, the “Viper” will compete in singles action tonight on Friday Night SmackDown! against the intriguing relative newcomer, Cody Deaner. Tonight will be the very first time that Orton and Deaner will ever have faced one another in singles competition although they did both compete in this year’s 30 Man Royal Rumble match back in January of this year at the WWE Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View, which was ultimately won by the current World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. Tonight will be only Orton’s third match on SmackDown! this year and his first since the beginning of last month, March, when he took on and defeated Joey Mercury.
