Tampa- WWF World Heavyweight Champion Terry "Hulk Hogan" Bollea was pronounced dead Monday, after an early morning accident on Dale Mabry Highway. Bollea, 34, was driving his Porsche southbound on Dale Mabry Hwy when he was broadsided by Kelly Upshaw, 23, of Lutz. Tampa Police Department Spokesmen Barry Thatch said that Upshaw was driving drunk when she ran a red light at Waters Ave that killed the professional wrestler.

The tragic news sent shockwaves through the WWF, who will have to decide how to replace an immensely popular champion. "Hulk Hogan was a larger than life superhero for so many people." said Vince Mcmahon, owner of the World Wrestling Federation, where Hogan was seen as an iconic hero. "But, before all that, Terry Bollea was a larger than life human. He gave so many people hope that they can overcome the odds. It's a sad day, for everyone." Mcmahon finished, while fighting back tears.

Just last week, Hogan and the WWF were riding high off the success of their closed circut-pay perview venture Wrestlemania 3. Hulk Hogan defeated the legendary Andre The Giant in the main event, in front of 93,173 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome. Fans everywhere were awestruck as Hogan was able to bodyslam his arch nemesis, Andre. On Monday, Andre reflected on the legacy that Hogan will leave behind.

"I will miss Hogan, very much. We both wanted to be the best and Terry proved that he is the best when he slammed me. There is a huge void in wrestling that no one else will be able to fill. I am just in shock, and feel bad for his family and friends."

WWF officals plan to honor Hogan this week, when they return to action on Thursday to film Superstars and on Friday when they film Wrestling Challenge. A planned memorial is being planned for Saturday in Clearwater, where Bollea would often vacation.

Before the match, in the spirit of the night, Paul Orndorff offered his hand to JYD in a show of respect. Orndorff then showed his true colors and raked JYD's eyes. Orndorff would stay in cotrol with a barrage of forearm smashs and a devasting belly-to-belly suplex. Orndorff would make one critical mistake, when he attempted to slam JYD's head into the turnbuckle pad, which didn't faze the dog. JYD began to take control, when Bobby Heenan jumped on the apron and attempted distract the big man. With JYD arguing with Heenan, Orndorff attempted to blindside his opponent, but JYD turned around and gave Orndorff the big Thump. Non Title Match: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth

Both men came out yellow and red gear and Hulk Hogan t-shirts. Randy Savage displayed a different attitude during this match. He offered clean breaks and didn't take oppurtunities to cheat, drawing the ire of Jesse Ventura. "If you aint cheating, you aint winning, Monsoon. Savage isn't cheating so he won't be winning. Win if you can lose if you most, but always cheat!!!!"

After 15 minutes of putting on a wrestling clinic with numerous near falls, and each man hitting their finishers, The Dragon was able to pull out the victory. Macho Man had Steamboat in posistion for a fling elbow drop. However, Steamboat moved away at the last second, and Savage crashed hard to the mat. Steamboat quickly ran to the top rope and waited for Savage to stand up. Steamboat attempted a Flying Karate Chop, but Savage sidestepped Steamboat. Savage got behind Steamboat and attempted a back body drop, however Steamboat reversed it and rolled Savage up for the win.

After the match a distraught Savage walked over to Steamboat and shoved him in the chest. Savage pointed to the sky, and then offered his hand to Steamboat. After a brief second, Steamboat accepted and shook Savage's hand. After a brief manly embrace, both men started to do Hulk Hogan's signature poses as the show goes off the air.
