Conference Championship Week #17 West Virginia (9-2) vs. #24 Syracuse (8-4) The Mountaineers are favored by 4 points in the first Big East Title game that doesn't match up Penn State and Notre Dame. Us two finally stepped up and took down the 2 most dominant teams in the Big East over these 5 years. FB Look is doubtful for this game and will not start. Runyan will start in his place. RB Franz is nursing an injury but will get the start. CB Demer and FS Preston are both probable and will start. West Virginia 20, Syracuse 19 A real heartbreaking loss today. We built a 16-7 lead by halftime, only to see them come back and take a 17-16 lead. We then kicked a field goal to go up 19-17 with 5:29 left on the clock, but they kicked the game winner, a 49 yard field goal with 43 second left. RB Franz ran for just 52 yards. QB Okoye threw for 314 with a touchdown an no interceptions. WR Covert was our leading receiver with 99 yards. WR Marriot caught the touchdown pass. Linebackers Dyson and Casey each had a sack. CB Demar had 2 interceptions on the day. Liberty Bowl #10 Texas (9-2) vs. Syracuse (8-5) We are 16 point dogs and have gotten blown out in all of our recent bowl games. We have also dropped three straight games, all to ranked teams to end the season. Texas 27, Syracuse 17 Make that 4 straight losses to end the season with a mediocre 8-6 record. Though I still think we made some progress by winning our division in the Big East. Franz finished his career with 140 yards and a touchdown today. Okoye threw for 189 with a touchdown and an interception. WR Fenney and WR Covert both led the team with 71 receiving yards. FB Look caught the lone touchdown pass. LB Casey had 2 sacks today. The defense had 2 other sacks and an interception. Offseason (Quick) Recap We get a few high profile job offers, but decline them all. Georgia, Colorado State, and Colorado. Our DC leaves and we fire our OC, as he was a vertical passing specialist and that is not anything like we want to run. Our new OC is DeMarco McQuilkin. Specialty: Smash mouth Scouting: average Developing: average Motivation and Gameplanning: average Our new DC is Derrick Satterwhite Specialty: 3-4 Scouting and development: average Motivation and gameplanning: good Transfers Obviously we don't bring anybody in this year. We never do. Has anyone who is reading this ever gotten a transfer into their school? Recruiting We pulled in 20 recruits this year and I believe it is our deepest, and best class yet. We had 11 of those recruits rated as 4 star, the rest are 3 stars except for a 2 star CB and a 1 star FB. Here are the 4 star recruits: C ML Svoboda WR Windrell Brunell SS Dee Plummer FB Rex Morin WR Frankie Brookins OLB Boomer Stablein ILB Blue Black OLB Mondriel Payne RB Kitrick Fitzgerald OLB Izzy Seubert QB Duane Hufnagel

2010 Preseason Information We carry over Clemson and Minnesota from last year and put together a 12 game schedule that looks like this: Clemson East Carolina West Virginia Louisville at Pittsburgh at #22 Penn State #25 Minnesota Rutgers at Army at Cincinnati Connecticut Tulane A very tough stretch in the middle with Pitt, Penn State and Minnesota, not to mention Louisville and West Virginia right before that stretch. Thankfully, those two teams are at the Carrier Dome. Starting lineup QB Kordell Deese, SO, 57. Drop back passer who is very slow. He had 7 career pass attempts, so he is very green. RB Po Huckleby, JR, 60. Exciting runner who ran for 1124 yards last year when he started the season as a backup. FB Pep Look, JR, 64. Great running and blocking back. TE Matthew Bird, JR, 64. Great blocker and he has good hands. 738 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns last year. WR Virgil Covert, SO, 60. Speedy receiver who had 1002 yards last year as our starter. WR Frankie Brookins, FR, 54. Another speed receiver who gets the start as a true freshman. C ML Svoboda, FR, 63. The true freshman beats out Paris Jett and gets the start. G Dat Markham, SR, 70. Has developed brilliantly over his time here and is an All American candidate. G Devon Bono, FR, 55. A weak spot on the line, but he is a true freshman who beat out Whizzer McAlister for the starting job. T Cornelius Leber, JR, 69. Great player who was 2nd team AA last year. T Gerard Cortez, SO, 70. Our two tackles are as good as any in the country! We have a strong line and backs, but inexperienced receivers and a QB, so we will run a smash mouth offense and popund the ball away every week. DE Armegis Chmura, JR, 58. Nice pass rusher. DE Avon Fenner, JR, 65. Has developed nicely. Had 5 sacks last year. DT Margin Winkler, SO, 61. Improving quickly. 2 sacks in 7 starts last year. Good run stopper. IL Kareem Dyson, JR, 65. Excellent pass rusher. 3 sacks last year. IL Tamarick Musso, SR, 57. Good run defense here. OL Bubby Meredith, JR, 60. Nice blitzing LB. OL Mondriel Payne, FR, 56. True freshman gets the start. Good in coverage. CB Paul Wonsley, SR, 72. 2nd team AA last year. CB Dez Demar, SR, 67. Please stay healthy for your senior year, Dez. FS Rip Duckworth, SR, 63. Earned the starting job through 4 years of hard work. SS Dee Plummer, FR, 59. We finally have some talent at SS and he beats out Genova, last year's starter. K Kynan McNown, SO, 80. A real pro prospect and a great kicker. P Weegie Cobb, SO, 56. Should develop nicely over the next few years. Our defense will be a 3-4, as always. We are young in spots, but this might be the best complete defense I have put on the field thus far. Our corners are absolutly lock down if they can stay healthy.

Week 1 Clemson (0-0) at Syracuse (0-0) We are 6 point dogs at home, and I can't complain since Clemson took us behind the woodshed last season. We would like to get off to a good start and show we can beat quality OOC teams. Syracuse 26, Clemson 16 What a great way to begin the season. We avenge last year's loss and finally prove to ourselves we can beat a quality OOC opponent. A quick 10 lead for us, expanded to 20-7 at halftime. We tacked on another TD in the 3rd to make it 26-7 and then held on to win. RB Huckleby ran for 92 yards. He also had 28 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. QB Deese threw for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns. Backup QB Nix threw for 81 and a touchdown. WR covert had 77 yards to lead the team and also had a touchdown catch. TE Bird had the other scoring catch. OLB Meredith and ILB Bratton each had a sack. FS Duckworth had an interception today. Week 2 East Carolina (0-0) at Syracuse (1-0) We are favored by 20 today at home. We want to continue what we started last week and pick up another solid OOC win. East Carolina 13, Syracuse 10 Pretty disappointing result. We pretty much give back the progress and respect we earned last week against Clemson. We couldn't even get into the endzone until there was 4 minutes left in the game. Huckleby ran for 143 and a touchdown. QB Deese threw for 184 without a touchdown or an interception. WR Marriot led the team with 57 yards receiving. The defense had a sack and an interception. Week 4 West Virginia (3-0) at Syracuse (1-1) We are 15 point underdogs at home. WVU has really elevated their game the last couple years, but that spread is ridiculous I think. We have won our fair share of games against them, despite going 0-2 last year. Syracuse 38, West Virginia 10 That's what I am talking about! Big win to open the Big East conference schedule this year. We actually trailed 10-9 at the half and then rattled off 29 unanswered points in the second half. RB Huckleby ran for 250 yards and a touchdown. He also had a receiving touchdown. FB Look had a touchdown run as well. QB Deese left the game early due to his nagging injury. Nix and Blanchard came in and combined to throw for 3 touchdowns on the day. TE Bird led the team with 101 receiving yards and a touchdown. WR Brookins had the other TD catch. The defense had 2 sacks and 2 interceptions. Big East Results Penn State (2-2) 17, Army (0-4) 10 Pittsburgh (2-2) 38, Cincinnati (0-3) 13 South Florida (1-2) 23, Rutgers (0-4) 17 #17 Notre Dame (3-0) 30, Navy (1-3) 20 Injuries All three of our QB's have some type of injury. Deese is questionable, but I will start him. WR Brookins is hurt so he won't be starting this week. WR Marriot will step in for him this week. SS Plummer is out for a week or two. Genova will replace him.

Week 4 Louisville (1-1) at Syracuse (2-1) We are favored by 17, which might be a bit much. This is an important game as we hit the road for a pair of tough games coming up next. Syracuse 16, Louisville 13 We hold on to hold off a late rally by Louisville and go 2-0 in conference play. This result is not encouraging for our upcoming road games though. Huckleby ran for 113 yards and had 33 receiving yards. FB Look had a touchdown run today. QB Deese played the whole game and threw for 194 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. WR Marriott was the leading receiver with 72 yards. OLB Meredith had 2 sacks on the day. The defense had 4 other players with a sack and an interception as well today. Week 6 Syracuse (3-1) at Pittsburgh (2-3) Pitt is favored by 8 points today. We have fared well against them in the past and we would like to set up a first place showdown with Penn State next week. Syracuse 30, Pitt 26 We trailed 13-0 early on and in the fourth quarter, we trailed 26-17. We were able to score two touchdowns in the final 5 minutes to survive the first leg of this roadtrip. Week 7 Syracuse (4-1) at Penn State (4-2) Penn State is favored by just 1 point at home. We beat them for the first time since I have come here, last year. We would like nothing more than to make it 2 in a row and give us the inside track to the conference title game. Penn State 20, Syracuse 13 We head back home pretty disappointed, knowing it would take 2 losses by Penn State now for us to get back to the conference title game. Two touchdowns in the third quarter by Penn State put this game away for them. Huckleby was held to 79 rushing yards today. Deese threw 3 interceptions before coming out of the game. Nix came in and threw 2 more picks along with 1 touchdown. TE Bird led the team with 61 yards and a touchdown catch. CB Wonsley recorded an interception today. Big East Results South Florida (2-3) 24, Pittsburgh (2-5) 7 Rutgers (1-6) 50, Connecticut (0-5) – how bad is uconn to give up 50 to Rutgers? Week 8 #4 Minnesota (6-0) at Syracuse (4-2) We are only 4 point dogs against a top 5 team. This could make our season right here and give us a real marquee win for the program. Huckleby ran for 90 yards and a touchdown on the day. Deese threw for 84 yards and an interception before he left the game. Our other QB's combined for 11 yards and 2 touchdowns. WR Covert led the team with just 47 receiving yards. DE Chmura had 2 sacks for the defense. We had 4 other sacks today along with an interception.
