CCW: The rebirth of Tradition!

As I sat down going over the financials of CCW, Spite walked into my office with some news. Spite informed me that we would be reaching out to USPW to form a working relationship with them. I tried to argue that we didn’t need to do such things but Spite told me that it was non-negotiable and he expected me to get this done ASAP. I slapped together an E-Mail that was so bare bones I hoped it would turn USPW off of the idea altogether.

 

A few days later…

 

We received a response from USPW, and as of right now we are now in a working relationship with them. I’m disappointed by Spite’s decision to reach out to such a dinosaur as USPW but in retrospect they are the most similar promotion to us. If not them then NYCW probably…Anyway, I need to find a way to use this to our advantage…

I'd imagine the Keith boys are on their way out (or at least one of them is). I've never been able to hold onto either of them for long as a cult or smaller promotion.

A few days before April’s show…

 

I sat at my desk going over the financials of CCW when in walked Matthew Keith. I was expecting him and as soon as I saw him I asked him to be seated and close the door. I informed Matthew that I knew about SWF’s interest in him. Matt seemed uncomfortable and I assured him this was not the beginning of some “I’m going to bury you before you leave” speech. I told him that if he wanted to, a top spot was here for him in CCW, but if he wished to move on that it was okay by me. After all, I couldn’t expect to hold on to someone of his caliber forever. He seemed grateful for the offer and informed me he would be taking up SWF’s offer of a developmental contract in RIPW. I told Matt that since the plan was already set in motion that he would be leaving CCW a winner…This seemed to please him more than anything else I said.

 

A week after April’s show

 

Matthew Keith is gone…and we need a new plan and we need it yesterday! I believe the issue of Stretch’s parentage can keep fan interest up as we scramble to slavage the mess Matt left us with…

In a match that had some scattered Stretch chants, Running Wolf won things for his team after landing a Wolf Tamer on Leo. After the match was over Stretch locked in a Chicken Choker on Leo until Leo passed out.

Joe Benning and Arthur Dexter Bradley went back and forth in an even match for the most part. The big moment came when ADB tried a cross body but Joe caught him and landed a front slam. Joe then lifted ADB up and landed his trademarked Joe and Behold.

Odlaw came out and immediately took the fight to Hugh. Odlaw used a variety of dirty tricks and semi-legal moves. Eventually Odlaw was DQ’ed after he removed the turnbuckle pad and slammed Hugh’s head into it several times, busting Hugh wide open.

Griff vs. Senor Suerte

 

Griff and Suerte came out and fought from the entrance ramp all the way to the ring. Griff grabbed the ladder first and used it to beat on Suerte. Griff then set the ladder up and began to climb it, only to have Suerte push the ladder over and Griff fell over the ring ropes and on to the cold concrete floor. Suerte then set the ladder up and retrieved the case containing “IT”. Suerte then hurried to the back trying to keep “IT” safe.

The Big Problem vs. Demon Anger

 

The Big Problem tried to overpower Anger as he has done with others but Anger was able to go toe to toe with Problem. Problem was able to finally land a Problem Solver on Anger and get the win, but not until after getting slammed a few times first.

After the match Problem tried to attack Anger but Joe came in and held him off with a chair. Problem kicked the guard rail several times before retreating to the back, while Joe helped Anger up. (C-)

Samoan Machine and Rhino Umaga paired off in a brutal exchange of blows as Weasel and Greg went at it in the ring. Rhino and Samoan continued fighting around the ring as Greg was reeling from a aerial assault from Weasel. Davis Wayne Newton ran to the ring and knocked Weasel off the top rope behind the ref’s back. Greg then applied a Proton Lock on Weasel in the center of the ring to pick up the win.

Joe Benning and DWN went back and forth with some light brawling before upping the ante and going full steam with high impact wrestling. During the match Joe ducked a cross-body from DWN and the ref went down. Joe then landed a Joe and Behold and went for a pin, although the ref was still out. The Big Problem then came out and laid Joe out with a Problem Solver. Problem then pulls DW on top of Joe before waking the ref walking away.

 

Winner: Davis Wayne Newton (D-)

Davis Wayne Newton came to and grabbed a mic from ringside.

 

DWN: Did you see that? Nobody can defeat me one on one! Nobody is better than DWN! And if anyone in the back thinks differently…meet me out here next week and allow me to prove it one more time!

Animal Harker vs. Mr. Odlaw w/Papa Bondye

 

Odlaw jumped the bell and nailed Harker with several closed fist shots before whipping Harker into the corner. The bell rang and Odlaw worked Harker over in the corner. Papa Bondye distracted the ref long enough to allow Odlaw to remove the turnbuckle pad and have Odlaw slam Harker into the exposed steel. Odlaw then made the corner and got the three count.

 

Winner: Mr. Odlaw (F+)

 

Broadsided! (D-)

 

As Mr. Odlaw was getting his hand raised, Hugh de Aske came out of the crowd and slide into the ring with a Bottle of Rum. Odlaw turned around and Hugh smashed the bottle on Odlaw’s head. Hugh then was held back by the ref as Papa Bondye pulled Odlaw out of the ring. As Hugh stood there you could see the bandage around his head from last mont’s assault by Odlaw.

Stretch and Angel started with some light technical moves, until Stretch grabbed Angel in a surprise Chicken Choker and Angel tapped out!

The match started between Ace and Leo. Leo and ADB kept Ace isolated until finally Wolf got a hot tag and cleared house. Wolf then nailed both ADB and Leo with Wolf Tamers. As the two were laid out, Ace dove off the top rope with a flipping tomahawk chop he calls the The Scalper and caught a rising Leo as Wolf tossed ADB out of the ring. Ace made the pin as Wolf stood watch.

In the locker room area The Big Problem was approached by Demon Anger.

 

Anger: I saw what you did out there…and I must say you remind me a lot of a younger me. So, if you’re willing to listen to an old dog, I can teach you to run the yard like never before.

 

Problem: In case you haven’t noticed…I already run this yard!

 

Anger: Yeah, I see that but, you’re just a big dog in a tiny little yard. I can show you how to be a big dog in ANY yard.

 

Problem: Listen close Anger…I don’t like you, however after last month’s match…I respect the hell out of you! You say you got things you can teach me, well why don’t you start tonight…in the main event, with me as a partner!

 

Anger: Tonight, the fans will snack on violence and dine on destruction!

 

Anger walks out of the room pumped up for the match as Problem speaks…

Griff and Weasel went at it back and forth until Senor Suerte came to the ring and Griff turned tail and ran. After a ten count the ref called for the bell and Griff got counted out. Weasel confronted Suerte for getting involved and the two argued as Griff slipped to the back. On the ramp Griff held up a small pouch and waved it which seemed to incense Suerte.

 

Winner: Air Attack Weasel (E+)

Rhino went after Greg with some viscous blows and Greg was forced to slide out of the ring and regroup. Greg was then able to get some momentum going after hooking Rhino in a few holds. Rhino came back with some high impact moves, culminating in a Samoan Drop. Greg held his back in pain and the ref checked him out. Samoan Machine came to the ring and gave Rhino a Samoan Super Kick. Greg then slid into the ring and locked Rhino in a Proton Lock and got the win.

 

Winner: Greg Gauge (D+)

After the match Greg grabbed a mic and addressed the crowd.

 

Greg: Last month my brother, Matthew Keith, walked out on CCW. He claimed to have nothing to prove, but the truth is…he knew if he ever faced me one on one, I would make him tap out faster then Gene Kelly on speed! You see, Matt knows the Proton Lock, but only I am the Master of it! Three people can use the move, but only I can lock it in such a way that no one can get out, not even dear old dad! And if Matt ever drags his ass back here, I’ll prove it and break him in two!

The Big Problem w/Heather B. & Demon Anger vs. Island Boy Apollo & Senor Suerte

 

Demon Anger and The Big Problem came out to a huge pop despite being heels. Apollo and Suerte seemed to be lambs being led to slaughter and the audience reacted as such. Anger and Problem cleared house in short order and the match ended with Anger lifting Apollo up and Problem coming off the top rope with a lariat, successfully recreating the legendary Demon Device!

 

Winners: Demon Anger and The Big Problem (D-)

 

Loved to be hated!

 

After the match Anger and Problem stood in the ring and enjoyed the cheers of the fans, who began a Demons of Rage chant. All the while, Heather B. glared over at Anger…

Hugh and Apollo began brawling as soon as the bell rang and soon they brawled all the way to the outside. Hugh had the advantage until Mr. Odlaw and Papa Bondye appeared ringside. Apollo used the distraction to slam Hugh on the cold concrete around the ring. Apollo continued his assault in the ring and got several near falls on Hugh. Hugh was able to fight back, and soon he had Apollo set up for the Walk the Plank (Sliced Bread) only to have Mr. Odlaw attack him and cause the DQ.

After the ref separated Mr. Odlaw from Hugh, Hugh rolled out of the ring and grabbed a mic.

 

Hugh: Arg! I be sick an tired o’ deese attack upon me person. What say we finish it once and for all? You and me in a Pirate’s Chest match! What say ye scurvy dawg?

 

Papa Bondye and Mr. Odlaw shake their heads in approval as they are escorted out of the arena…

Stretch went right after Joe and applied several quick submissions that Joe barely managed to reach the ropes to escape. The crowd seemed behind Stretch, a first in his career, as he went after Joe more aggressively than we have ever seen him. Joe seemed at a loss as to the best way to handle Stretch and soon Joe was tapping out to a Chicken Choker!

Chicken Boy No More! (E)

 

Stretch grabbed a mic from nearby and began speaking.

 

Stretch: Another month, another victory! As of today, I am no longer to be known as The Chicken Boy! You see, my father made me realize that if I was ever going to live up to his legacy, then I needed to get serious. The first step is dropping that ridiculous name…so from now on you can just call me Stretch C…

 

The mic is suddenly cut off and Stretch looks around confused. After a moment he walks out, realizing his “Father” must have something to do with his mic getting cut off before he revealed too much.

Senor Suerte vs. Arthur Dexter Bradley

 

In a fast paced match, we saw ADB and Suerte take to the top rope several times. ADB was a bit riskier and he paid for it when he crashed and burned attempting a moonsault off the top turnbuckle. Suerte capitalized on this and got the pinfall.

Griff made his way out to the ring holding a small pouch and a mic. He waved the pouch as he spoke.

 

Griff: By now you realize the bag you retrieved during our ladder match in May contained a cat turd and a note. The contents of the note were as thus…I have your “lucky charm” still and if you want it back, then you should face me one more time…in a steel cage! So…I ask you, Do we fight once more or do I destroy “It” once and for all?

 

Senor Suerte was incensed and his anger seemed to indicate that it was indeed on.

DWN: Last month I threw down the gauntlet…and not a single member of the CCW had the testicular fortitude to step up and step into the ring with me…I guess there is no one around who…

Davis Wayne Newton vs. Gold Dragon

 

DWN attacked Dragon as he tried to enter the ring but Dragon was able to fight his way into the ring. Gold Dragon then whipped DWN into the ropes and caught him with a Dragon’s Breath (Jumping Leg Lariat) before getting the pinfall victory.

We cut to a shot of The Big Problem in his locker room taping up his fist. In walks Heather B. with a look of concern on her face.

 

Heather: Babe…are you sure you should be getting so friendly with Demon Anger? I mean, he claims he is getting you better prepared but to me it looks like you’re getting softer…

 

Problem: Focused…It’s no longer just senseless violence…It’s violence with a purpose. I’m no longer a wild animal acting on pure instinct. I’m a man-beast who combines the pure power of the animal with the deadly intellect of a man.

 

Heather: Yeah, but that isn’t the Wrestler I came here to manage. You need to decide real quick whether or not you want to be by my side…or his!

 

Heather B. storms out as Problem just continues to tape his fist.

Greg Gauge & Samoan Machine vs. Rhino Umaga & Air Attack Weasel

 

Samoan Machine and Rhino Umaga started things off with brutal exchange of blows. They then brawled to the outside where Umaga nailed Machine with a brutal slam on the cold concrete before getting in and tagging Weasel. Weasel leapt off the top rope and landed a huge senton on the prone Umaga. Eventually they made it back in to the ring and Machine was able to overpower Weasel and get the tag to Greg. Weasel and Greg went at it with several hold/counter-hold moves until Greg locked in a Proton Lock. Rhino got in the ring but Machine cut him off and took him over the top rope and to the outside. Weasel held on as long as he could and just moments before he would tap out…the bell was rang! Greg released the hold as the ref made his call…

 

Match is declared a Time Limit Draw! (D)

It's admirable to try and build AAW as GG's equal, but Greg Gauge is a star and AAW isn't.
