What if ... Zuffa dominated the sport in 2008?

Recommended Posts

December 2008

Zuffa has purchased StrikeForce, and merged it in with the WEC and UFC to form a monstrous, unquestioned world leader in mixed martial arts. Pay-per-view revenue was streaming in from all around the globe, and Zuffa's desire to have the greatest fighters in the world compete under their banner meant that all of the world's most exciting fighters were soon lining up for their shot at a payday.

With the acquisition of StrikeForce, all of their top fighters were transitioned to the UFC. StrikeForce would continue to exist, but as a feeder series to the top dogs. Likewise, fighters who couldn't cut it at the highest ranks would be demoted to StrikeForce, where they could re-establish themselves against lesser competition.
