It's a name that still sends shivers down my spine. I wrestled, I promoted, I helped set up the damned ring for my father back in the seventies. But I've always watched from the sidelines. I watched my father run things, I watched Vince McMahon try and run things, I watched my brothers Bruce and Ross... so what makes me think I can make Stampede Wrestling successful once more? The truth is, I don't know. The professional wrestling world has changed so much, hell, are we even supposed to call it professional wrestling any more? I don't know if there's still a demand for the type of show we used to sell out arenas promoting. I don't know if people are interested in good honest competition in this day and age, or if the Stampede legacy is enough to convince today's athletes to return my calls! As a good man once said, "build it, and they will come." Well I guess my daddy built it, and the people came. So I'm rebuilding it. Let's see if the people return." That's right! For the first time in over three years, Stampede Wrestling is back. As an early Christmas present to all our young fans, anybody under the age of twelve will receive free admission when accompanied by an adult. Furthermore, "Baby Bulldog" Harry Smith and "Lone Hart" Michael Hart will be on hand to take pictures and sign autographs with anybody who buys tickets in advance of the show. On Christmas Eve we start a 16 man tournament to crown the new Stampede Wrestling Champion with four huge matches scheduled to take place. I will try and write up the show tomorrow, (been working on an article for a wrestling website as well, not sure if I'm allowed to promote other websites on here so I'll not say which unless I'm told I can say!) I'm currently torn as whether to write it from a backstage perspective or from a fans perspective. I like both styles really. I may alternate a little bit in the early goings until I find my feet with this. Thanks again, look for the show to be up in the next 24 hours or so.
