3PW (Pro Pain Pro Wrestling) RETURNS

Recommended Posts

Pro-Pain Pro Wrestling, or 3PW, was a hardcore professional wrestling promotion based around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It ran many shows from the former ECW Arena.[1] Following the close of Extreme Championship Wrestling, many former ECW veterans, such as Raven, The Sandman, Al Snow and Sabu, made frequent appearances in the promotion. Independent wrestlers including Rockin' Rebel, Monsta Mack, Ruckus, Joey Matthews, A.J. Styles, CM Punk and Lo Ki also competed in the promotion.[2]

In December 2004, however, problems began to surface. 3PW booker Tod Gordon resigned, walking out during a 3PW event following an argument with 3PW officials when there was apparently no money to pay wrestlers, security and other staff for the event.[9] In April, Jasmin St. Claire was officially replaced as CEO by Richard McDonald.[10] Rockin' Rebel took over as booker, but he and the Blue Meanie soon became involved in a business dispute with Pro Wrestling Unplugged owners Johnny Kashmere and Trent Acid.[11] When St. Claire stopped receiving her royalty checks, she responded by putting the promotion up for sale in a one-day auction on Ebay.com although, no one responded to the $180,000 asking price.[12] Blue Meanie attempted to resurrect the company, but was unable to find an investor. The company's final show was on June 18, 2005.

Now, however, in present day, January 2006, 3PW has found a new investor, in a longtime fan of Philadelphia wrestling, who was rumored to have inherited 5,000,000 from his Grandfather. That man, Joseph Feeney III, got into contact with the Blue Meanie, and purchased the 3PW library, and all trademarks, while also promising Meanie a job on the active roster. Now, 3PW, and it's new owner/booker/announcer, Mr. Feeney, have to scour the wrestling landscape, and get over the promotion's bad reputation because of it's troubled past, and bring in new talent, talent the east coast wrestling fans, and especially those in Philadelphia, where the promotion will be based once again, will enjoy, respect, and quite frankly, pay to see.

All titles are vacated, and the roster is empty. Negotiations are beginning. And it's a new day for 3PW. Let the story begin...

This diary will be way more detailed than past diaries...updates coming later today or tomorrow as I tool around with the format I would like to use.

3PW Returns!

by Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com

The imminent return of the 3PW promotion to the Philadelphia area was announced yesterday, as new owner Joseph Feeney III sent out an email to several wrestling websites announcing his purchase of the trademarks and library from the Blue Meanie, who will be brought back as an active wrestler.

No other members of the roster have been named yet, but Feeney is rumored to be hard at work to bring the best available talent back to the Tri State area.

I have been told personally that 3PW's return event will be held at the former ECW Arena, and will be a one night 8 man tournament to crown the new 3PW World Heavyweight Champion...yes I said "World" Champion, as Feeney intends to take 3PW worldwide, through Canada, Japan, Mexico, etc. It will be based at the Arena, but there will indeed be touring in those countries named. The return event has yet to be announced, although sources at the Arena tell me that the last weekend or January or the first weekend of February have been discussed.

As far as rumored talent? None so far, although one can imagine he will bring back some ECW guys as in 3PW's past. Towards it's end 3PW boasted a roster that included some great workers, including AJ Styles, Joey Matthews, Christopher Daniels, and Chris Sabin, so one could assume those guys, or that type of worker, will be the base of 3PW once again.

But then again...anything can happen, and with the return of 3PW and now that is has better financial backing than nearly any other promotion of it's size, I'd say, the wrestling wars are returning to the Tri State area, and Philadelphia.

3PW would like to announce their first acquisitions..

Tom Prichard: "Dr. Tom" is a former regional heavyweight champion in many promotions, as well as a former WWF and SMW Tag Team Champion. He is known well for his ability to advise and train younger talent. He comes to 3PW to work as a backstage producer with the talent.

Jim Cornette: One of the greatest managers of all time, the former owner of SMW, and a former member of the WWF creative team. Mr. Cornette has also commentated in the WWF and WCW, and he will come to 3PW to be our color commentator...unless he decides to return to managing.

Masato Tanaka: Former ECW World Heavyweight Champion and a big time favorite in the Tri State area for his wars in ECW with Mike Awesome. Also had a big match with awesome at ECW One Night Stand last summer.

Perry Saturn: A former ECW World Tag Team Champion, WCW World Tag Team Champion, WCW World Television Champion, WWF European Champion and the list goes on...Perry is a legendary tough guy, who had disappeared from the world of wrestling since appearances in Japan and TNA in 2003. An unfortunate incident where Perry was shot while breaking up an attempted rape has left him unable to compete, but he feels he is ready to return now, and he wants to do it in 3PW, in Philadelphia.

Devon Storm: Has wrestled in the WWF, WCW, ECW, and TNA. Has held multiple independent wrestling championships, as well as the Hardcore, Cruiserweight and World Tag Team Championship in WCW.

Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere: The Backseat Boyz are one of the top independent tag teams in the US, having had championship success in ROH, CZW, and JAPW. Trent has also proven himself to be a viable singles competitor in ROH.

Shane Douglas: The Franchise ignited the Hardcore Revolution of ECW in Philadelphia back in 1994, and he looks to return to the scene of his greatest successes. Douglas was the longest ever reigning ECW World Champion, and is also a former WCW United States and World Tag Team Champion as well as a former WWF Intercontinental Champion.

3PW ANNOUNCES RETURN CARD!*

3PW will return to it's former and current home at The ECW Arena with the following card, an 8 man tournament to crown the 3PW World Heavyweight Champion. The man crowned Champion will have had to successfully get through three opponents. This card will take place on the final Saturday, this month, January of 2006.

3PW CROWNING A CHAMPION

WEEK FOUR, SATURDAY, JANUARY 2006

ROUND ONE

Masato Tanaka vs. The Messiah

The opening match of the tournament should be an intriguing one. Both men are hardcore warriors with international reputations, and both have held heavyweight gold in the Tri State Area (Tanaka as ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Messiah as CZW Heavyweight Champion.)

Charlie Haas (w/ Jackie Gayda) vs. Devon Storm

For a man with such potential, Charlie Haas has never held singles gold in his career and he is beginning to suffer under the label "Underachiever." This pisses him off to no end and he plans to use that rage in 3PW to bring him to the top. Devon Storm has had moderate success all over the wrestling world. Sure he's been everywhere, but...he's only had moderate success. This will be the battle of two angry young men aiming to prove that they can reach their potential.

"The Franchise" Shane Douglas (w/ Francine) vs. Trent Acid (w/ Bobbi Billard)

Some might say Shane Douglas is in the twilight of his career. The man who at one point represented and defined the Extreme Revolution in Philadelphia, returns to his home turf with something to prove. Hell, he just gave up a deal to be on national television to compete in this tournament. He's fit, he's trim, and he is ready. Trent Acid, on the other hand, some say is at the beginning of an amazing career and the sky is the limit. Can he send The Franchise into the sunset, or does the veteran have enough in the tank for one more run?

Perry Saturn vs. Slyk Wagner Brown

Perry Saturn was rumored dead and at the very least, had disappeared from wrestling for almost the past 3 years. He has resurfaced, seemingly out of thin air, and looks as scary and intimidating as ever. But looks don't win matches. Does Perry still have the hardcore chops, the technical prowess, and the high flying ability that once made him an ECW, WCW and WWE star? Slyk Wagner Brown has held the 3PW Championship, and the Philadelphia fans know what he can do. Some say he has languished since his 3PW run, and his break up with April Hunter, and he looks forward to proving his detractors wrong.

Also rumor has it that the new 3PW Management has been putting together...a classic 3PW Bikini Contest! Just take a look around at the talents we have announced, and you'll see that this would be a sight you do not want to miss!

Also appearing will be CJ O'Doyle (w/ Chrissy Rivera), Michael Modest and Donovan Morgan (w/ Tammy Sytch), Tom Carter, Danny Demanto, and Sterling James Keenan (w/ Talia) among others!

*predictions welcome...feel free to predict how the brackets will progress and who will reign as the 3PW World Heavyweight Champion!

my R3:

Perry wins this, only so you can debut some one even bigger at your next show, it gives Perry a great bump, but he's not the long term champ either.

Douglas went on a verbal tear, insulting the WWE, Shawn Michaels, HHH, WCW, Ric Flair, TNA, Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett and Paul Heyman. He then insulted the fans for supporting all those aforementioned names. He promised to defeat everyone put in front of him in this 3PW World Championship tournament, whether it's a young punk liek Trent Acid, or a burnout like Perry Saturn. He stated that Philadelphia was his town, and he owned any piece of gold he had ever challenged for in this city...and tonight will be no different.

Rating: 71

SEGMENT TWO: "The Irish Lionheart" CJ O'Doyle w/Chrissy Rivera vs. Danny Demanto

Winner: CJ O'Doyle in 5:22 by pinfall

Rating: 24

SEGMENT THREE: 3PW World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Match, Round One: Masato Tanaka vs. The Messiah

Rating: 60

SEGMENT FOUR: Jackie Gayda pumps up Charlie Haas

Backstage, Jackie Gayda promised Charlie Haas she would quote, "Do it rough" unquote if Haas became the 3PW World Heavyweight Champion.

Rating: 52

Rating: 40

SEGMENT SIX: 3PW World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Match, Round One: "The Franchise" Shane Douglas w/ Francine vs. Trent Acid w/ Bobbi Billard

This was a longer match than expected, and pretty good. Acid showcased alot of his high flying moves while Douglas did his best to keep up. The ending came after Francine distracted the referee and Douglas knocked out Acid with a shot from his chain and got the pinfall.

Winner: Shane Douglas via pinfall in 17:22

Rating: 52

SEGMENT SEVEN: 3PW World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Match, Round One: Perry Saturn vs Slyk Wagner Brown

In what basically amounted to a squash match, Saturn destroyed the former 3PW Champion, and after dropping him on his head with a T Bone Suplex and a Death Valley Driver, Saturn was victorious in his return to the ring after a 3 year absence.

Winner: Perry Saturn via pinfall in 5:43

Rating: 47

SEGMENT EIGHT: Sterling James Keenan w/ Talia vs. "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter

In a good back and forth contest, Keenan won with a quick roll up and a handful of tights. Keenan and Talia did not have very good chemistry.

Winner: Sterling James Keenan via pinfall in 7:09

Rating: 40

SEGMENT NINE: 3PW World Heavyweight Championship Tournanment, Semi Finals: Masato Tanaka vs. Charlie Haas w/ Jackie Gayda

in a decent back and forth contest, Haas spent the beginning of the match outwrestling the Japanese superstar. However, a distraction of the referee by Jackie backfired when Charlie missed a chairshot, hitting the ropes, which flung the chair back into his face. Tanak hit a DDT and got the 1,2,3.

Winner: Masato Tanaka

Rating: 49

SEGMENT TEN: 3PW Bikini Contest: Tammy Sytch vs. Jackie Gayda vs. Talia Madison vs. Bobbi Billard

This segment was hosted by a very red faced, embarassed Jim Cornette. The fans cheers chose the winner, and Bobbi Billard won by a hair over Jackie Gayda. Tammy Sytch was furious at "show your tits" chants and stormed out of the ring.

Winner: Bobbi Billard

Rating: 54

SEGMENT ELEVEN: Perry Saturn Interview

Saturn was interviewed by Dr. Tom Prichard before the live audience and spoke about his recent past, including his battles with drugs. He implored the fans to give him a chance and he wouldn't let them down, and that the 3PW Championship would be his redemption. He talked about how when he was down and out, Shane Douglas tried to book him at Hardcore Homecoming and didn't care that he was having problems, and badmouthed him to the fans. Tonight he will get his revenge on Shane for that.

SEGMENT TWELVE: "The Franchise" Shane Douglas w/ Francine vs. Perry Saturn

These two had amazing chemistry and the match of the clear match of the night, leaving the crowd hungry for more. Considering Saturn's layoff and Douglas rustiness, they exceeded all expectations. The finish came when Saturn defeated Douglas cleanly with The Rings Of Saturn after posting Douglas' shoulder and hitting him with a variety of shoulderbreakers.

Rating: 73

SEGMENT FOURTEEN: Team Excellence (Michael Modest and Donovan Morgan) w/ Tammy Sytch vs. N8 Mattson and Mikey Batts

Modest and Morgan kind of played with the two former 3PW regulars here, confusing them with their technical skills. They won the match when they hit Mattson with a Ligerbomb/Neckbreaker combination.

Winners: Team Excellence (Michael Modest and Donovan Morgan) by pinfall in 7:03

Rating: 28

SEGMENT FIFTEEN: Perry Saturn vs. Masato Tanaka video

A video was shown to the crowd of former 3PW Champions, including Raven, Terry Funk, Christopher Daniels, Joey Matthews, and Justin Credible. The second part of the video was highlights from Perry Saturn and Masato Tanaka's careers.

Rating: 53

SEGMENT SIXTEEN: 3PW World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Final: Perry Saturn vs. Masato Tanaka in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match

This was a great, violent contest that was just what the doctor ordered for the Philadelphia crowd. Cheers varied for both competitors with Saturn getting the slight edge. - Sources inside 3PW claim the company made a $35,000 profit in their first month since returning, which is obviously a huge success. This has 3PW's owner second guessing about expansion, which in the past has proven more costly than proftable for many independents trying to grow. </p><p> </p><p>

- The main event of 3PW's February show, yet to be named, may be a rematch for the 3PW World Heavyweight Championship between Perry Saturn and Masato Tanaka. </p><p> </p><p>

- Backstage, there was a little argument between Sterling James Keenan and Talia Madison over how they interacted during their first match as a tandem, with Talia as Keenan's valet. Road Agent Tom Prichard was said to have been really laying into the two of them, and the pairing, and Keenan's push, may already be over. </p><p> </p><p>

- The match between Perry Saturn and Shane Douglas during the tournament was the most well received of January's show, and there will most likely be a rematch at the March show. Douglas may have a non wrestling role at February's upcoming show. </p><p> </p><p>

- Although the crowd came off as flat during their match, and Tammy Sytch cut what may have been the worst promo of her career, 3PW management still believes in Team Excellence (Michael Modest and Donovan Morgan) and their push is rumored to continue. 3PW ANNOUNCES HARDCORE WAR 2006!!*

3PW will return to it's former and current home at The ECW Arena with the following card, announced so far. This card will take place on the final Saturday, this month, February of 2006. Card subject to change...

3PW HARDCORE WAR 2006

WEEK FOUR, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2006

For The 3PW World Heavyweight Championship

Perry Saturn © vs. ?????

Perry Saturn, after defeating 3 competitors last month to claim the title, has issued an open challenge to anyone who wants to face him, no matter what company they are affiliated with, what country they are from, what style they wrestle in...this should be interesting, and in Philadelphia, one can only speculate what kind of an Extreme competitor thinks he is up for this challenge.

In a # 1 contenders Extreme Streetfight

"The Franchise" Shane Douglas w/ Francine vs. Masato Tanaka

Shane Douglas is frustrated and feels ripped off...what else is new? He has demanded a 3PW World Title shot against Saturn, but as he was informed by 3PW Management, he had neglected to think of the man who faced Saturn in the finals for the title...former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Masato Tanaka. These two Extreme Legends will look to take it all over the Arena as they fight for the right to challenge for the championship.

For the vacant 3PW World Tag Team Championship in a 3 Way Dance

Team Excellence (Michael Modest & Donovan Morgan) w/ Tammy Sytch vs. The Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere) w/ Bobbi Billard vs. The Combat Zone (The Messiah & Nick Gage)

This match is between the 3 top tag teams currently in 3PW. Team Excellence is managed by Tammy Sytch, who has always led her charges to gold. Modest & Morgan have teamed in the past, but have yet to taste Tag Team gold together, although they have been very successful worldwide. The Backseat Boyz are one of the most successful tag teams in the independents for at least the last half decade, and they are former ROH and CZW Tag Team Champions. The Combat Zone team of CZW veterans Messiah and Gage have never teamed before, but are both former CZW Heavyweight Champions and are here in 3PW to prove that they are at the top of the heap as far as Philadelphia wrestling goes. This one could go in any direction, especially with Sytch and Billard on the outside!

Devon Storm vs. Slyk Wagner Brown

Storm and Brown are both men of pride, who have had success almost everywhere they have went. Storm has held gold in WCW and Brown is a former 3PW Champion. However, both were eliminated in the first round of last month's World Title tournament, and this month they seek redemption at each other's expense.

Charlie Haas w/ Jackie Gayda vs. Josh Daniels

Haas is infuriated at his inability to win the tournament last month, and is even more pissed off that he has to, quote "listen to her bitching" end quote. Josh Daniels is currently in the way of Haas' goal of ascending the rankings, and is no technical slouch himself. This should be an excellent contest, and could be the sleeper of the card.

"The Irish Lionheart" CJ O'Doyle w/ Chrissy Rivera vs. Sterling James Keenan

These two were definitely the young lions and the future of 3PW before it's initial closure last summer. O'Doyle came out with a bang at last month's show, absolutely dominating Danny Demanto. Keenan won his match as well against Tom Carter, albeit in less convincing fashion, and rumor has it, he fired his valet, Talia Madison, afterwards. This match will give both young men a chance to show who will be the force to be reckoned with and the measuring stick in 3PW. On a side note, CJ, who is a huge fan favorite, has been getting letter after letter from a young man in Ireland, who claims to be his "biggest fan" and who enclosed his last letter..."See you at February's show..."

Also scheduled to appear are "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter, Talia Madison, Danny Demanto, N8 Mattson, Mikey Batts, and others....

*PREDICTIONS WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED!

<p><strong>TWO NEW SIGNINGS BACKSTAGE AT 3PW'S HARDCORE WAR 2006</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

by Mike Johnson</strong></p><p><strong>

PWINSIDER.com</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Former ECW World Heavyweight Champion and WWF Hardcore Champion <strong>MIKE AWESOME</strong> has been spotted entering the locker room at the New Alhambra (ECW Arena) this afternoon. With his history with Masato Tanaka, including a show stealing match just last summer as One Night Stand, one can imagine he may be here to reignite that feud. There is also the matter of 3PW World Heavyweight Champion Perry Saturn's open challenge....but more importantly, Awesome hasn't been in this building since he jumped to WCW while ECW Champion. How will the crowd react if he does indeed appear?</p><p> </p><p>

Also, current irish Whip Wrestling International Heavyweight Champion <strong>Sheamus O'Shaunessy </strong>is backstage as well. Word had already leaked last week that he had signed a deal with 3PW, which will be his first exposure in America. Rumor has it he will be starting an angle or a team with 3PW homegrown favorite, "The Irish Lionheart" CJ O'Doyle.</p>

No Dark Segments.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT ONE: Luke Hawx vs. Mikey Batts</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In an opener without much crowd heat, Luke Hawx defeated Mikey Batts clean after hitting a variation of the Michinoku Driver.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: <strong>Luke Hawx</strong> in 7:04 via pinfall</p><p>

Rating: 28</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT TWO: "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter vs. Kaz Hayashi</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Hayashi made his 3PW debut to a pretty strong reaction from the Philadelphia crowd who remembered him from his WCW run. These two went full tilt for the entire ten minutes until the bell rang, signifying the expiration of the time limit.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: None, <strong>Time Limit Draw</strong> in 10:00</p><p>

Rating: 48</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT THREE: Carter and Hayashi shake hands</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After the time limit expired, Hayashi looked especially irritated, prompting Carter to walk over and shake his hand, which he accepted.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: 26</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT FOUR: Sterling James Keenan dumps Talia</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Keenan called out his valet for all of one show, Talia, and publically fired her as well as ended their relationship in the middle of the ring. Talia stormed the the back screaming, "This isn't over!"</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: 40</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT FIVE: "The Irish Lionheart" CJ O'Doyle w/Chrissy Rivera vs. Sterling James Keenan</strong></p><p> </p><p>

This was an ok back and forth contest between two pretty good young wrestlers. They just need to catch back on with the fans as they were both pretty popular before 3PW's hiatus, and O'Doyle could use some more experience. The finish came when <strong>Sheamus McMurphy</strong>, Irish Whip Wrestling's Heavyweight Champion debuted and saved O'Doyle from a chairshot courtesy of Keenan. He then leveled Keenan with a clothesline on the outside. O'Doyle scored the pinfall with a jumping Diamond Cutter. Post match, he looked confused at McMurphy's involvement, but eventually high fived him. </p><p> </p><p>

Winner: <strong>CJ O'Doyle</strong> via pinfall in 12:04</p><p>

Rating: 35</p><p>

</p><p><strong>

SEGMENT SIX: In Ring interview with Charlie Haas and Jackie Gayda</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><p>

These two cut an interview in which Haas promised to reach the top of 3PW within the next three months, no matter what it takes. Jackie chimed in that he'd better reach the top, or she'd stop getting on top. </p><p> </p><p>

Rating: 30</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT SEVEN: Charlie Haas w/ Jackie Gayda vs. Josh Daniels</strong></p><p> </p><p>

This is a good technical contest, a little below average, while Haas mostly had the advantage. After working the neck with a series of suplexes, Haas made Daniels tap out to a Dragon Sleeper.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: <strong>Charlie Haas</strong> via submission in 8:04</p><p>

Rating: 42</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT EIGHT: Devon Storm vs. Slyk Wagner Brown</strong></p><p> </p><p>

These two had a back and forth match, the highlight of which was Slyk's somersault plancha onto Devon at ringside. But the crowd was never really interested. Storm won with a Flatliner seemingly out of nowhere. Slyk pounded the mat in frustration afterwards.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: <strong>Devon Storm</strong> via pinfall in 12:37</p><p>

Rating: 34</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT NINE: Tammy Sytch hypes up Team Excellence and the 3PW World Tag Team Championship Three Way Dance</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Tammy cuts a promo putting over her team and saying under her guidance, they are guaranteed to become champions. For the 2nd show in a row, she just couldn't quite seem to find her groove.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: 20</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT TEN: Mike Awesome appears</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Shocking the fans in attendance, Mike Awesome walked in through the front doors of the ECW Arena during intermission, walked through the crowd, hopped the rail, and walked to the back!</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: 76</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT ELEVEN: Three Way Dance for the vacant 3PW World Tag Team Championship: Team Excellence (Michael Modest and Donovan Morgan) w/ Tammy Sytch vs. The Backseat Boyz (Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere) w/ Bobbi Billard vs. The Combat Zone (The Messiah and Nick Gage)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The three teams meshed pretty well in this long elimination contest. The Combat Zone was the first to be eliminated when Messiah was pinned by Johnny Kashmere after a Cradle Breaker. Excellence and the Backseats went at it for about another 8 minutes before Modest pinned Acid cleanly after a reverse Superplex from the top.</p><p>

</p><p><strong>

Winners and NEW 3PW World Tag Team Champions: Team Excellence via pinfall in 18:07</strong></p><p>

Rating: 43</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT TWELVE: Shane Douglas and Francine cut a promo against Masato Tanaka and Perry Saturn</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Douglas and Francine cursed out both Tanaka and Saturn, and promised that Douglas would mow through Tanaka tonight in an Extreme Streetfight and then claim HIS 3PW World Heavyweight Championship from Saturn.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: 62</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT THIRTEEN: In an Extreme Streetfight: "The Franchise" Shane Douglas w/ Francine vs. Masato Tanaka</strong></p><p> </p><p>

This was an excellent match harkening back to the glory days of ECW. Both men gave as good as they got, and fought through thr crowd. Douglas levelled Tanaka with several chair shots and could not drop the man! Mike Awesome appeared and distracted Tanaka, giving Douglas a chance to dive at his knee, apparently injuring it. After several more moves to weaken it, Douglas slapped on a Figure 4, and after several moments, Tanaka was forced to tap out. </p><p> </p><p>

Winner: <strong>Shane Douglas</strong> via submission in 13:52</p><p>

Rating: 62</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><strong>SEGMENT FOURTEEN: Mike Awesome and Perry Saturn go nose to nose</strong></strong></p><p> </p><p>

After Douglas defeated Tanaka, Awesome strutted to the ring amidst the boos and curses from the Philadelphia audience. He cut a promo with interviewer, Jim Cornette, stating he didn't give a **** about them or about ECW, and how he stole the show at One Night Stand and they all knew it. He proclaimed himself the "Undisputed Champion of Philadelphia" and said he had accepted Saturn's open challenge and would take his title tonight. Saturn's Elminator music hit and he came to the ring and stood nose to nose with Awesome.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: 65</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SEGMENT FIFTEEN: For the 3PW World Heavyweight Championship: Perry Saturn © vs. Mike Awesome</strong></p><p> </p><p>

These two had a tremendous contest that was clearly the match of the night. They threw each other around with suplexes, utilized chairs and tables, and before long, both men were busted open. The ending came when the ref was bumped by an errant Awesome clothesline, and Masato Tanaka limped out to wack Awesome with a chair from outside the ring. Awesome went down, and Tanaka entered the ring to assist Saturn with a double powerbomb on Awesome. Saturn hit the DVD after, and got the 1-2-3. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winner and still 3PW World Heavyweight Champion: Perry Saturn</strong> via pinfall in 24:12. </p><p>

</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Rating: 71</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

SEGMENT SIXTEEN: Shane Douglas and Mike Awesome beat down Perry Saturn and Masato Tanaka</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Post match, as Saturn and Tanaka went to go through the curtain. Shane Douglas was there to greet them with a pair of fireballs! Mike Awesome had recovered by this point and helped Douglas drag them both to the ring where they attacked them with chairs and put the both of them through tables. Douglas celebrated by holding up the 3PW title and saying "It's only a matter of time!"</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: 63</p>
