Calamari, who has been on a 2 fight losing streak, was given the unheralded Ryan Beeker to hopefully get him back into the winners circle. Calamari, who at one time was consider a top prospect in the welterweight division, now struggles just to get by. Unfortunately, once again, Calamari would be dominated by lesser competition. Unable to do much in the stand up, Calamari shot in for a takedown after a few minutes of lack luster striking. Beeker, the all American wrestler, easily stuffed the shot and actually wound up in mount moments later, allowing him to pound away at a stunned Calamari. Beeker would go on to score the TKO victory and cement himself as a fighter to watch in the welterweight division. As for Calamari, he drops to 3-3 in his MMA career, most of his losses coming to somewhat unheralded competition.

The bell rings, signaling the beginning of the fight.

A battle between two exciting Brazilian countrymen, Cabral and Campos went at it. Early on, Campos used his speed and striking to nullify the reach advantage of Cabral and even wobbled him with a right hand. However, Cabral was able to take it to the ground not long after. From here, many anticipated the quick submission stoppage from the jiu jitsu black belt. Surprisingly, Campos defended well on the ground, escaping mount, a leg lock attempt and even getting side mount on Cabral. Cabral, able to recover half guard, was too much for Campos by this point and latched on to a kimura. Campos fought it as long as he could, but eventually was forced to give in to the wrenching arm lock and tap out. While Campos did lose, he showed that he is still improving greatly. Cabral improves his undefeated record to 6-0 and is truly making a case for a title shot in the lightweight division.

Two of the biggest fighters in the heavyweight division set to take on each other in Alpha-1. MacReary, known for his driving takedowns and powerful ground and pound did just that for a good portion of the fight. Early on, MacReary had trouble dealing with the size of Bryant, unable to take it to the ground. Finally, showing incredible strength, MacReary lifted the 265lb Bryant up and slammed him to the canvas. MacReary mounted Bryant with ease and began unloading heavy punches the face of his opponent. Eventually Bryant rolled over and gave up his back, but once again he was able to deal with the punches from MacReary. The referee would stand them up and by now both men were gassed. The rest of the fight would consist of both men grappling for supremacy to no avail and throwing wild haymakers. Towards the end, Bryant began to do well in the clinch, utilizing good dirty boxing, but it was too little to late as MacReary scores the unanimous decision over his opponent.

In what will easily be called "Fight of the Night", the hard hitting Funaki and Harrison went at it in a total slug fest. Early on, Funaki established his power advantage quickly by nearly dropping Harrison. Harrison, showcasing a very hard chin, was able to take plenty of hard shots and land some of his own. The ever elusive Funaki was doing well on the feet, utilizing his speed and power to slowly wear down the plodding Harrison. Finally, later into the fight, Funaki would connect on a huge right hand that sent Harrison reeling to the canvas. The granite chinned Harrison shook off the cobwebs quickly and scrambled before Funaki could dive in with more punches, using his wrestling background to make his way to side control on top of the Japanese fighter. From here, he moved to mount and began to pound away with punches. An exhausted Funaki had little answer for the heavy hands raining down on his chin, and the referee was forced to step and save him from taking any more damage. John Harrison gets the biggest win of his career, finishing a Japanese MMA legend in Funaki. Funaki, who is now on a three fight losing streak, has truly fallen from grace since defeating the likes of da Guia and Douille.

Yet another war between two strikers. Early on, Douille seemed to have the fight in the bag, dropping Gallo with a over hand right only seconds into the fight. He would do damage on the ground, but eventually the referee would stand the fighters up. From here, Gallo began to find his rhythm, scoring with leg kicks and using the clinch to land good elbows. Douille's Dutch kick boxing style was not matching up well with Gallo's muay thai, and it all culminated into a huge muay thai knee that knock Douille out cold! Yet again, the extremely talented Douille is unable to take advantage of a fight that was easily going in his favor, cementing his place as a choke artist in the world of MMA.

In what would be Harris' first defense as the champion, he had a huge challenge in front of him in Lermontov. Possessing lightning fast hands and impressive ground work, the undefeated SIGMA champion had no doubts coming into this fight. The 17-1 Harris felt he had the advantage on the ground, but once the fight took place, was dominated from the start. Lermontov using his speed and striking, kept Harris from getting in close for the takedown. Instead, it would Lermontov getting the takedown and controlling a shell shocked Harris on top. The referee would stand them up do to inactivity, but Lermontov would once again get the takedown, this time moving to side mount and forcing the tap with a key lock. A devastating loss for Dustin Harris, who had just won the title. Harris, who seems to struggle with high competition, has been recently pegged as a choke artist. A rather unheralded showing from a fighter many believed to be one of the most dangerous in the sport. With that loss, de Silva moves to 3-2 in Alpha-1 and 1-1 in the welterweight division. Miyagi defends his crown and proves why he is one of the best in the sport.
