The Donald Trump purchase of the American Wrestling Assocation

Recommended Posts

really digging this AWA dynasty. good layout and good creativity, love the old school feel it has. I was thinking of doing an AWA diary, changing it up a little and giving it that old school feel, but I might go ahead and do a NWA one instead. If I do an AWA one ,I hope it is okay with you, and I hope I can do as good on it as your AWA one is, anyways keep up the good work.

At a friends house tonight and have all the coding ready for the actual show itself but didn't feel like waiting until tomorrow to get the preview up and then having to wait for the results to be posted... So being a little lazy on my preview write-up... hope people still predict!

Match Listing:

Nikita Koloff and KAMALA vs. Action Jackson and Mr. Shima

Eddie Gilbert vs. Tom Zenk

Diamond Dallas Page and the British Bulldogs vs. Don Muraco, Scott Steiner and Ricky Steamboat.

Sorry for the laziness again.

The World Wrestling Federation has Pay Per View and Turner has his television networks. For our big shows what do we have? Pay Per View markets are still pretty exclusive as far as where we can get on thanks to Vince's grip on the market. So I decided lets give it to people in a convenient manner. They can go buy it at Wal Mart, they can rent it at the Video Store and they can watch it multiple times. We are planning on having an incredible turn around rate... by the time WWF has published footage of whatever big event they do in December, our fans will have watched AWA December Supercard 10 times over.<br><br><br>Surprises? You bet. We are slowly weeding out some roster members so therefore you need people replacing those spots. I finished signing a young star earlier today by the name of Dustin Rhodes. He is the son of Dusty Rhodes. He is 19 years old and is packed with potential. Lets not forget that it's a Supercard though! Shane Douglas has stepped up to the plate to face off with Harley Race, My British Bulldogs face off with the Rock N Roll Express, Eddie Gilbert and Jerry Lawler collide in a Texas Deathmatch and Ricky Steamboat goes one on one with Diamond Dallas Page!!! We have so much more planned I just can't remember it all right now.  Be expecting a HUGE debut as well but also be expecting a lot of mystery behind whats going on/who it is.</div></div><div></div></div></div><div style="position: relative;"><img style="float: left;" alt="Speaker" src="http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s412/midsouth/DaveMeltzer.jpg" width="113" height="113"><img style="left: 103px; top: 37px; position: absolute;" src="http://fictionplus.interwebz.co.nz/images/layout/sbpointer/sb-pointer-ffffff-l.png" width="22" height="20"><div style='background: rgb(255, 255, 255); margin: 0px 0px 10px 123px; padding: 7px; border-radius: 0px; width: 300px; height: auto; line-height: normal; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 16px; position: relative;'><div><div>Awesome. Donald, a lot of people have been upset with how you handled the AWA Takeover? You fired Greg and Verne Gagne from the company itself after all...</div></div><div></div></div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; position: relative;" align="right"><div style="float: right;"><img style="float: right;" alt="Speaker" src="http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s412/midsouth/DonaldTrump2.jpg" width="113" height="113"><img style="top: 53px; right: 103px; position: absolute;" src="http://fictionplus.interwebz.co.nz/images/layout/sbpointer/sb-pointer-ffffff-r.png" width="22" height="20"></div><div style='background: rgb(255, 255, 255); margin: 0px 123px 10px 0px; padding: 7px; border-radius: 0px; width: 300px; height: auto; text-align: left; line-height: normal; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 16px; position: relative;'><div><div>Peoples names are irrelevant. Greg and Verne Gagne held the company back for years. Hulk Hogan was here just a few years ago... right on the verge of being a star and instead of pulling the trigger and making him that star he is today, they decided "Well lets just sit around and tease it"... they did the exact same thing with the Rockers. The NWA has made plenty of stars lately and so has Vince. Hell Vince making stars got me into the wrestling business.  In the environment I have created we can start believing in guys like Shane Douglas or Eddie Guerrero or Scott Steiner. All 3 of those men would have never been given a chance by Verne because they aren't "old school"... well "old school" kind of sucks whenever you have guys leaving for greener pastures every other month and can only hold on to the same people you have had for years... Eh Verne?</div></div><div></div></div></div><div style="position: relative;"><img style="float: left;" alt="Speaker" src="http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s412/midsouth/DaveMeltzer.jpg" width="113" height="113"><img style="left: 103px; top: 18.5px; position: absolute;" src="http://fictionplus.interwebz.co.nz/images/layout/sbpointer/sb-pointer-ffffff-l.png" width="22" height="20"><div style='background: rgb(255, 255, 255); margin: 0px 0px 10px 123px; padding: 7px; border-radius: 0px; width: 300px; height: auto; line-height: normal; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 16px; position: relative;'><div><div>How is business? Live event revenue? Gates increasing? Media buzz? Money?</div></div><div></div></div></div><div style="margin-bottom: 10px; position: relative;" align="right"><div style="float: right;"><img style="float: right;" alt="Speaker" src="http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s412/midsouth/DonaldTrump2.jpg" width="113" height="113"><img style="top: 53px; right: 103px; position: absolute;" src="http://fictionplus.interwebz.co.nz/images/layout/sbpointer/sb-pointer-ffffff-r.png" width="22" height="20"></div><div style='background: rgb(255, 255, 255); margin: 0px 123px 10px 0px; padding: 7px; border-radius: 0px; width: 300px; height: auto; text-align: left; line-height: normal; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 16px; position: relative;'><div><div>It is a business. I am going to lose money before I ever make a dime. I have Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, Terry Funk, Harley Race and Jerry Lawler locked into guaranteed contracts. Those aren't cheap investments for a company that draws about 2-5,000 per TV Taping.  <br><br>Live event revenue continues to increase. We provide a good live event all across the US now. It may cost a little more and sometimes the gate isn't as much as it could be but we film TV on Saturday... Thursday and Friday I have my guys all across the United States wrestling matches. <br><br><br>Our gates and popularity are slowly increasing.  I want this to succeed. I'd love for AWA Superclash to take place at Trump Plaza and blow away Wrestlemania. Don't get me wrong, Wrestlemania is a larger than life ENTERTAINMENT spectacle... the celebreties, the glitz, the glamor... I get it but imagine Eddie Gilbert vs. Terry Funk beating the holy hell out of each other in front of 20,000 people or Roddy Piper colliding with Ricky Steamboat... that my friend is money.      </div></div><div></div></div></div><div style="position: relative;"><img style="float: left;" alt="Speaker" src="http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s412/midsouth/DaveMeltzer.jpg" width="113" height="113"><img style="left: 103px; top: 53px; position: absolute;" src="http://fictionplus.interwebz.co.nz/images/layout/sbpointer/sb-pointer-ffffff-l.png" width="22" height="20"><div style='background: rgb(255, 255, 255); margin: 0px 0px 10px 123px; padding: 7px; border-radius: 0px; width: 300px; height: auto; line-height: normal; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 16px; position: relative;'><div><div>Thankyou for your time today Mr. Trump. Everyone please make sure to buy a ticket or purchase a VHS Copy of tomorrow nights AWA December Supercard Featuring Eddie Gilbert vs. Jerry Lawler in a Texas Death Match in the Main Event!</div></div><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
