<tr> <td>INSPIRE MMA Press-Conference

<img src="http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080623230620/tew/images/8/8d/INSPIREcurrent.jpg " style="float: right;" border="0" vspace=5 hspace=5> TOKYO—INSPIRE MMA head Tadiyuki Kikkawa held a press-conference today from the Tokyo Bay Hotel and announced details of his new promotion. Kikkawa first addresses the press saying that as previously announced, the organization and it’s events would follow MMA rules. There would be one single weight class, an Openweight division, in which any and all weights would be accepted. Kikkawa added, all bouts would consist of 1 round lasting a maximum of 60 minutes. There would be no judges so any fight going the distance would end in an automatic draw. Elbows, foot stomps and soccer kicks would be permitted and all matches would take place inside a ring.

Kikkawa said they were implementing a Grand Prix style tournament to determine the first “King of MMA” champion. The first round (Round of 16) would take place in September, and the Finals would be held on New Years Day 2013.

The participating fighters for the tournament would be announced in the coming weeks, as Kikkawa promised an exciting mix of top ranked Light-Heavyweight, Heavyweights and Super-Heavyweights. As the press-conference came to a close, Kikkawa confirmed that he himself would be participating in the tournament.

Oh well, another thread to subscribe to. Really looking forward to this, this is honestly a very exciting thing to have running alongside your DRAGON diary. I hope to see some ridiculous fights here, especially if some big Super Heavyweights are involved.
