Fresh Rebootverse [Hype]

Recommended Posts

This mod is a combination of 4 things; the default database, majesty95's 'Beginning of MMA Reboot', and Weidt's Fresh Start Complete from WMMA2 along with his Weidtverse mod. They've all been compiled together, and I haven't bothered to send Weidt a PM since he doesn't seem to be active anymore, but, I did find this post below and considering this is a direct port along with his Weidtverse (which also has a permission disclaimer), it shouldn't be a problem. The only thing I'm unable to do is to update the pictures of the fresh renders from the remake thread, so they'll all be the originals but I'm sure you can do it yourself. There's also some renders from LONDON which he kindly gave permission for.

I provided all my renders not included in WMMA3 for download on the first page of this thread. These include all the Frest Start renders I created. You are welcome to do whatever you want with those.

As for the renders in Fresh Start, most were created by other people. I gave them all credit in the database information, and they only gave me permission to use their renders in my Fresh Start mod. I cannot give permission to you or anyone else to use their work in your own mods, sorry. I'm sure many of them wouldn't care either, but it isn't my call.

Now if someone wants to take over Fresh Start and port it over to WMMA3 with updates to the data, incorporating the new features and expanding its content, I suppose that could be alright. It wouldn't be much different than if I did it myself, just someone else is doing it. For this I have no objection. But taking the renders out of Fresh Start for a completely new mod, I believe this would be a no-no.

Disclaimer: As always, you are welcome to use and edit my data for your own purposes, public non-commerical mods included, so long I am given credit. More power to anyone who dares to create renders for the 3,600 fighters too; it'll take ya forever!!

So now to what it is. This takes the fighter count to a mighty 5,261. There's 10 companies, and there will also be an import file of 68 from the Weidtverse. I would import these from 2000 onwards but it's really up to you, I would suggest the millenium as that is when the Weidtverse fighters start coming into the game and any earlier will completely saturate the market.

There's fighters from Flyweight to Super Heavyweight, and there's also plenty of women (950). I've done a run through and fixed a few issues I've had with the women (they were debuting at way too old, 30-35 and were retiring before the first women's promotion came into play) so they should be fine. A few of them will have local fights for up to two years which I find realistic before the creation of WEFF, as its impossible to really have 3 female promotions and merge them together as WEFF's canonical history reports.

The database will start from 1988, but there will be save games up to the 2000 point, so you'll be able to jump into them with full histories. A few of the company dates have been modified to simulate the game world a little better and keep it realistic (BCF opening in November, FLB opening in December of the same year doesn't really make much sense). The companies start from 50 reg whilst GAMMA and ALPHA start at 10 national. There's also the ISL which is the very first promotion open in 1988 (the next doesn't appear until 1992, so bare that in mind) along with VFL which is something to the successor of ISL, but you can find out more about that in the game/my dynasty, but you can feel free to remove them completely if you don't like them. The CEO's are also set.

The era's are pretty well balanced, if you're loading a game it'll come with plenty of fight history to sink your teeth into. There's plenty of fight teams with certain fighters linked to their camps (Mantas Andreyev, Rob Baines, Jeff Carlton, etc.) and there's 170 imported relationships (all are linked together correctly). 96 PPV carriers, with 288 TV stations. There's 14 titles for the VFL and ISL promotions which have maximum reputation due to their prestige, especially in early ISL which is an openweight promotion, but you can delete them if you like. There's also 10 user avatars with real names (and obviously Mittens Blurcat).

For now, I'm working on getting the saves to the year 2000, and from there I'll sort out the pictures to save the headache of the multiple creators of renders in the Re-Render thread. I've been working on this a loooooong time and started getting to it when I realised the Bantamweight/Flyweight mod didn't seem to be coming out.

ETA should be December, but no later than January. Until then, here's a few pictures with the fantastic FSF skin from fourstarfizzle.

I knew I'd forget to mention something, the fighters themselves.

I've turned off regeneration for all default fighters and with avatars. I don't know about you, but I find it annoying when a regen has the same picture as James Foster, and it can be confusing. So only the Weidtverse fighters will regenerate, and all 3600 have full body silhouette pictures, for both men and women.

None of the fighters that I know start with pop, rep, or aura. Whilst it may reflect a personal background, its not a huge thing since popularity comes and goes.

All promotions are automatically adjusted to the new weight classes. There's no need to add any.

You are obviously welcome to use them for this mod. Once you have a beta-version available, please send a link so I can check whether some renders of mine used in this mod have been updated since then.</p><p> </p><p> Also try to work together with the other modders as much as possible. It's frustrating to see different versions float around. I spend more time synchronising all mods in one whole than I spend actually playing the game! Imo it's always best to have one mod that integrates everything, with the option of disabling certain parts (this needs extra efford though).</p>

Probably. I didn't see some new member bumped the hell out of this post. I presumed it was a new project given that I know most of the threads by heart by now <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />.

<p>I had no idea people were still interested in this. Yes, I've still got the data and I can keep working on it if anyone cares. Might revitalise the community a little bit more.</p><p> </p><p>

It's pretty playable as it is but I could add some narratives and give it another test run.</p>

<p>The problem is that everyone gradually updates his own mod, and you're left with data that needs continued maintenance. </p><p> </p><p>

But good that you're still willing to work on this project. Narratives are still uncharted territory for this game as there's no mods who 'really' exploit all the functions. If you want, I could write some ideas down. I myself used MMA Summits (with skill increases on the attendants), Companies who change their rulesets along the way, training camps that suddenly grow more professional, etc. You can really spice up the game using them: make the universe more alive.</p><p> </p><p>

Frienships and rivalries don't seem to have any effect on the game, except the occasional "won't fight" notice and some ornamental stuff.</p>

Welp, I've worked out all the little niggles in the mod and now I've just got to test it. Fast testing from the year 2020 to see if all the avatars/regeneration settings are correct, and then slow testing from the very beginning to see how the game plays. I've no issues with working on follow up versions if anyone finds any issues when I release it, I've worked on this for years and any follow ups shouldn't be hard to figure out.

But a word of warning, eventually everybody's pictures will be a silhouette, it's just the way the game is done. For there to be so many fighters in the game and to not poach people's renders, I've set it up that way. In 2020, there's still a fair few pictures, but eventually there'll all be gone as only the Weidt fighters are set to regenerate (I don't like avatars being passed on for regeneration). The titles are also deleted as I find it to be too much work and they'll look pretty uneven next to all the titles that won't have a picture (imported feds, etc). It's only a minor thing anyway.

And the last thing is descriptions, for characters and companies I've wiped them all, as this is reminiscent to TEW's version of the Effverse. The information would not really be accurate, especially when the company first debuts. So sorry about that. I prefer to write descriptions for characters who only make it to the HOF or in a dynasty, seems more honourable that way. Fans of the series know most of the backstories anyway.

After releasing the first copy, I'm gonna start playing the game too and will release versions with history (post ISL/ALPHA/GAMMA, 2000 when the Weidtverse begins and the lower weights/women kick in) for anyone who really doesn't want to sit from the beginning and watch the game grow. The mod is best played rather than watched due to the game's questionable AI. That's not to say you can't just watch it all unfold, you just might have more fun jumping from promotion to promotion at the beginning before settling on one of your favourites/importing the extra ones.

But yeah, that's enough info for now. Look out for it this weekend. The only reason I didn't release it earlier was because I thought nobody was interested and didn't feel it was worth sorting out the picture folder. That's all done now, though. :)

<p>Tbh, I've never really played over the time the 'current' generation retires. Once the official fighters are goners, my commitments eventually drops down to the level where I just don't care anymore. It's not like you can say: "wow, this guy turned out awesome", if there's no common ground.</p><p> </p><p>

I for one would really like a mod with FULL history from the beginning of the MMA world in the WMMA universe. I always like to narrate the stories of the fighters when I play to improve immersion, so that'd be great. I wouldn't really care if it was 'accurate' or not, because the official database doesn't come with title histories anyway. And there's also no way you'll be able to achieve that by just playing one company.</p>
