Preface

With TEW 2013 just around the corner, I decided to take a break from my C-Verse '97 diary and give one last go at one of my favorite C-Verse promotions, United States Pro Wrestling.

I am going to take a 'kayfabe' approach, with weekly news reports on the USPW and any major happenings that occur in the wrestling world. I am planning to tweak the USPW product a little to "modernize" it but not lose the nostalgic feel. I also opened the USPW Training School to help filter in some younger talent.

Issue #100

Big news shook the wrestling industry ans owner of United States Pro Wrestling, Sam Strong, announced that he was replacing Shane Sneer as head booker with a relative unknown. Strong said that the move had nothing to do with Sneer's performance, but that Sneer wanted to focus on managing his Sneer Corporation in their efforts to gain control of all the gold in the USPW. The big question now is.....who is this mystery man that will be taking the reigns of the company going forward? And are the rumors true that massive changes are coming to the company in an effort to elevate it to the same level as TCW and eventually, the SWF.

The first big move made by the company was to open it's own wrestling school, The USPW Training Academy in an effort to develop some young, new faces to start to take the place of the wrestlers that could be considered "past their prime"....men like Giant Redwood, fan favorite Captain USA and a couple of current champions, Freddie Datsun (Tag Team) and Peter Valentine (National). We have heard that the company has sent out no less than 12 requests to some of the more well known Indy talent.

Sam Strong is set to appear on USPW Television this Wednesday night from Huntsville, Alabama to address some of these changes personally to the fans. The only thing we can confirm at this time is that no one on the current roster or staff is in danger of losing thier job with the company. Make sure to tune in at 8:00pm for USPW American Wrestling....check local listings in your area.

The new commissioner has told us that starting this Wednesday on American Wrestling, the USPW Television Title will be defended on every show. Current TV Champ, Andre Jones said he "welcomes the challenge of any chump that wants to try and take his belt, in fact he has issued an open challenge to anyone stupid enough to get in the ring with him". This week, Pete The Hillbilly get the first crack at the belt.

A new championship has been created by the company....the USPW Soaring Eagle Championship will crown it's first holder later this month at Stars, Stripes and Slams. Some of the contenders are; Anger, Darryl Devine and Captain USA. But you can be certain that more will come and challenge for the belt.

* Pete eventually lands a clothesline and then a couple big stomps on the champ, forcing Jones to roll out of the ring.
* Jones gets back into the ring and gets the upper hand quickly, using his speed and athleticism to knock the big man down and hit the 'Blast from the Past'

*After the match, Andre Jones grabs the TV Title belt and grabs a microphone. He says that ever since he defeated The Force for the TV Title, no one has been able to challenge him for this belt. He then says that since the belt will be defended on every TV show, he lays down an open challenge to anyone on the USPW roster or not to come and challenge him for his TV Title. He drops the mic and walks to tbe back while telling the camera how great he is as the announce team calls him arrogant but talented as we fade to commercial.

*As we come back in from commercial, USPW owner Sam Strong's

hits and he makes his way down to the ring. We learn that he has made this rare on TV appearance to make a couple big announcements about the future of the company. Strong begins by thanking all the fans for their continued support and then makes the announcement of a brand new title, the USPW Soaring Eagle and the first champ will be determined in the next month. He then says that it is time for the USPW to get off the sidelines and into the game and make a run at both TCW and SWF and the first step is to land a pay-per-view deal beginning later this month with Stars, Stripes and Slams! He also says the it is time for the company to bring in some fresh, young faces to challenge the old guard and kick everyone in the ass, including him. The crowd begins to cheer and he thanks them again.....just then the lights go out, and when they come back on, Sam Strong is laid out in the ring, covered by a flag of some sort baring this logo:

*As we come back from a quick commercial break, Starr and Jillefski speculate on what just happened and what is the 'Empire Eight'? We are then taken to the ring for the next match of the night. Savage Fury comes out first with mixed reception from the crowd.....then

* T-Rex and Java start out with Jave trying to mount any offense to no avail, he is tossed over the top rope with ease as T-Rex plays to the crowd, which is received by a chorus of boos.
* Tyson Baine is tagged in and he continues the assault on Java, but tosses him over to his corner to allow the Tribal Warrior to tag in.
* Baine dominates and eventually hits the 'Hades Bomb' for the win.

*We come back in from break in the locker room, where Captain USA talks about Sam Strong's new vision and eventually he says that Andre Jones needs to be taught a lesson...so next week on American Wrestling TV, he accepts his challenge for the TV Title. We then go to the ring for our third match of the night....Giant Redwood is already in the ring, yelling at some fans at ringside....the jumbo-tron lights up and pyro goes off as Man in the Box starts playing and The Hardcore Legend comes out from the back with a chair in hand.

* The Hardcore Legend wastes no time in trying to knock the big man off his feet, which he is finally able to do
* Redwood capitalizes when Caulfield misses a body splash from the top rope and delivers some monstrous blows
* Caulfield regains control, but Bruce The Giant comes down from the back and grabs Caulfield around the throat and delivers a Choke Slam, forcing the referee to ring the bell.

*The two on one attack continues as Giant Redwood and Bruce The Giant lay waste to Chris Caulfield. They eventually send him through a table and are about to set up another one, but from the back comes Nicky Champion to make the save, sending both big men over the ropes and onto the floor....we go to commercial with the four men jawing back and forth.

*As we come back from break, Bruce The Giant is back in the ring as the announcers recap what just happened....just then we hear the familiar SNARL over the PA and Welcome to the Jungle begins to play and The Force comes running from the back and does his traditional running around the ring, then slides into the ring as Bruce retreats over the top rope and onto the floor.

* The Force plays to the crowd as he runs at Bruce, landing multiple shoulder blocks with no luck. They play this game for a little while, the crowd playing right along.
* Bruce catches The Force and delivers a choke slam, but Force is able to roll out of the way from a leg drop
* Force begins to attack and beat on Bruce, until he goes to the well once too many times and is caught in mid air by Bruce, who delivers The Giant Choke Slam for the win

*Enygma collects the USPW World Title and celebrates his win with the crowd. Just then from the back come Tyson Baine and T-Rex, and attack Enygma from behind. They continue the assault for a couple of minutes, until from the back comes James Justice and nails T-Rex with a flying cross body. All four men continue to fight as we are told to tune in next week by the announce team and the closing credits begin to roll.

Issue #101

Pro Wrestling Max review of United States Pro Wrestling's American Wrestling TV on January 6th, 2010 from the Huntsville County Fairground.

The capacity crowd of 5,.000 fans filed into the arena about an hour before bell time with a lot of buzz in the air at episode #206 of USPW's American Wrestling TV. Everyone wanted to know why owner Sam Strong was advertised to make an in ring appearance to address the fans on some upcoming changes to the company. About 30 minutes before the start of the TV broadcast, we were informed that there were a couple of dark matches, including a title match. We quickly learned that the USPW Women's Title was going to be defended as former champ, Belle Bryden made her way down to the ring to face the woman who beat her just 3 months ago.

Dark Match #1 - Raven Robinson © vs Belle Bryden:

A decent match that the crowd really got into. Both ladies worked well together and got the filtering in crowd to get into it. In the end, Robinson retained her title. GRADE = C (These ladies can really work it, solid match but alas, it's still a women's match)

Dark Match #2 - Nicky Champion & James Justice vs Anger & Daryl Devine w/Seduction.

The fans really were excited to see Justice, but I was a little surprised that he was wrestling before the show. He and Champion looked great out there, taking complete control of the match and the crowd, getting the now almost filled arena going. Champion gets the pin on Devine with Hawkeye Hammer. GRADE = C+ (Champion is the future of the company, and Justice is well...James Justice.)

The show began with a brand new opening video and finally they updated the music, using Stricken by Disturbed. I like the fact that they are playing the same video in the arena as on television, keeps you from feeling like you are on a movie set.

Opening Match - Andre Jones © vs Pete The Hillbilly for the USPW Television Title.

Honestly when Pete came down to the ring, I was less than thrilled. He ha to be one of the worst wrestlers on the roster, and I am hoping that one of the changes made by the new creative team is that he and his partner (Al The Hillbilly) are given their releases. The champ came down to the ring with his normal swagger and the obvious boos from the fans. The match began and Jones easily looked to be the best wrestler in the ring. Thankfully a short match had Jones retain his title with the Blast from the Past. GRADE = D (Jones was good, but Pete had no business out there)

After returning from commercial, Sam Strong came down to the ring to a cover of Pink Floyd's 'Money". I honestly love that song and it fits him very well. After the normal "kiss the fans asses" routine, he gets to what we wanted to hear. To sum it all up, USPW is close to signing a PPV deal with USA Free Choice, which is a huge move if the company actually does want to make a run at TCW and SWF. They also are going to be getting younger, and it sounded like they are close to deals with some talent from the indy circuit. And of course, a new title belt for the guys on the lower end of the card to fight over, a really good idea.

Thoughts - I think this is a big move for the company if they really want to be more than a place where old wrestlers go to finish out their "productive years" and move onto New York City Wrestling. The PPV deal will help generate some revenue and get them more fans, especially of they bring in guys like Matthew Keith, James Prudence and Roger Cage from smaller companies.

When the lights went out as Strong was finishing up, it did take me by surprise. I saw a couple figures enter the ring and lay Strong out and lay something over him. When the lights came back on, people were buzzing about what happened. Very interested in seeing where this goes...who is the Empire Eight? I have my ideas, but I will save that for next week.

Match #2 - The Titans vs Savage Fury

I thought this was going to be a squash, but Jave and Tribal Warrior were able to hang with Baine and T-Rex. Even though it lasted longer than I expected, I knew that The Titans would get the win, and was right when Baine nailed the Hades Bomb. His verbal attack on the World Champ afterwards was very good, it really is building some heat fro their match at Stars Stripes and Slams. GRADE = C- (Could have been a little longer or found better opponents for Baine and T-Rex.)

Match #3 - Chris Caulfield vs Giant Redwood

Man, Redwood is looking old out there, thankfully the style of Caulfield is something that he can still manage a decent match with. A typical USPW hardcore match, without the blood. Lots of punches, kicks and shoulder blocks until Bruce The Giant made his appearance and grabbed Caulfield and tossed him to the mat with ease. Referee Baby Jamie called for the bell, but big surprise that neither big man stopped. The table shot got a big pop from the crowd and they were disappointed when Nicky Champion ran down for the save. GRADE = C- (Another predictable match, Caulfield looked good out there but was limited to what he could do against Redwood. I think his match against Bruce in a couple weeks will be a little better, but not much.)

Match #4 - Bruce The Giant vs The Force

People just love The Force. His high energy entrance to 'Welcome to the Jungle' really get the crowd going. Again, another typical Bruce match...lots of shoulder blocks and punches until Bruce lands a choke slam and then just tosses the smaller man around. Bruce get the win after a Giant Choke Slam. GRADE = C- (Match was a little too long for my taste, you can only go so long with trying to knock down the big man.)

Main Event - Enygma © vs Jumbo Jackson for the USPW World Title

Enygma's entrance is really cool....lights off, jumbo tron lights up and the pyro and laser show is just great. Definitely the match of the night. These two men really did a great job out there, and a couple of times we actually thought that Jackson would get the pin...some very close calls. Enygma used his high flying ability to disorient the big man and get the win via submission. GRADE = B+ (Very good match between two of the better wrestlers on the roster.)

Following the match, The Titans came out and destroyed the champ with a spear and a couple big power bombs. James Justice running to the rescue got a big pop from the crowd and if they have these four men square off next week, it will be a PPV type match on live TV.

OVERALL THOUGHTS - Could have been better, but still was a very good show. I wish that Peter Valentine and The People's Team would have made an appearance, but I guess you can only do so much in an hour and half.

They run through tonight's card and recap what happened to owner Sam Strong last week and tell us he is here and will be looking for answers and we are shown the video of what happened. As the video finishes, Sam Strong's

hits and the owner of the company comes out, holding the 'Empire Eight' flag that was draped over him as he lay in the ring last week.

Now, I am out here for ANSWERS!!!! So whoever this 'Empire Eight' is, GET YOUR ASSES OUT HERE AND FACE ME LIKE MEN!!"

*The lights flicker and go out in the arena and the 'Empire Eight' logo displays on the jumbo-tron followed by

by Rage Against The Machine, while a figure comes out from the back and stands on the stage. No one can make out who it is until he speaks.

"Cut the music! Well, well, well....hello there Sammy! It's been a long time my old friend! For those of you that don't know who I am, let me introduce myself....I am the man who is going to lead the Revolution against all that is wrong with this business, I am the man who will bring Tradition back to the sport....I am The Traditionalist, Eric Tyler....but now is not the time for things to be revealed....but that time is coming Sammy boy. Oh, and one more thing......I am not alone!"

*Tyler drops the mic and walks back behind the curtain while Sam screams into the mic for him to get back out there. The announcers are stunned at the appearance of Eric Tyler and speculate what he meant by he is not alone. Sam Strong eventually climbs out of the ring and heads to the back looking more angry then when he first came out.

*We return from commercial break and a video package of the appearance of Eric Tyler is shown. 'Stars and Stripes Forever' begins to play and the fans go nuts as Captain USA comes out and is welcome by the fans. Mickey Starr talks about the open challenge laid down by Andre Jones last week and it was answered by Captain USA. Just then, Andre Jones's theme music hits and the TV Champ comes down to the ring cocky as ever as the crowd boos.

* Match begins with Captain USA leading a "USA" chant as the men lock up with Capt USA locking in headlocks followed by him working on the left arm of Jones.
* Jones escapes to the floor and uses this to grab the legs of Capt USA and drag him to the outside where he tosses him into the guard rail.
* Jones tosses Capt USA back into the ring and quickly pounces on him, using his speed to keep the veteran off balance, finally hits the 'Blast from the Past'

*After the match, Jones grabs his TV Title and a mic and rips the USPW roster and says that he asked for competition but all he gets is over the hill dinosaurs and no talent ass clowns. He then names Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling and asks if anyone there has the balls to get into the ring with him. He bashes PSW some more and then walks to the back as the fans yell at him.

*We come back from commercial and see Cherry Bomb standing in the ring waiting for her opponent. Danny Jillefski says we are getting a bonus match as the USPW Women's champion will be in action. 'Nemo' by Nightwish hits and Raven Robinson comes down to the ring, the USPW Women's title belt around her waist.

* Cherry Bomb attacks Robinson before as she takes off the USPW Women's title and goes on the attack, using her size and strength advantage in her favor.
*Robinson reverses a powerbomb attempt and goes on the offensive, knocking Bomb off her feet.
*Robinson stays on the move and eventually lands a Night Faller and get the cover.
WINNER -Raven Robinson @ 5:48 via pinfall

*As Raven Robinson is celebrating her victory, a woman jumps the rail from behind and slides into the ring and attacks and destroys Robinson. She grabs the USPW Women's title belt and holds it around her waist and smiles, before tossing it back on the limp body of the champ.....Joanne Rodriguez has arrived in USPW!

*The camera's go to the back and we see Sam Strong walking through the backstage area, talking on his cell phone trying to get some answers. He then stops, and looks behind him as if he was being followed. After about 5 seconds, he goes back to talking on his phone and says he swears he is being followed....as he walks into his office, we see the back of a figure step out of the shadows and hear a chuckle before he walks off....all we can make out is the Empire Eight logo on the back of this shirt, and that it was NOT Eric Tyler

*We return to the ring and the People's Team theme music hits, and the Tag Team champs make their way down to the ring. They grab mics and again make the offer to put the belts on the line at Stars, Stripes and Slams.

* Justice and Baine start off, trading blows and submission holds
* Enygma and T-Rex are tagged in and go at each other, eventually T-Rex and Baine cut him off and take control
* More of the same, until Enygma lands a DDT on Baine and both men are able to get tags, Justice eventually lands the Liberation Slam on T-Rex for the win.
WINNERS- Enygma & Justice @ 17:35 via pinfall

*All four men continued to battle in and outside the ring, and as referees and security came down to the ring to regain order, they were beaten back. This continued for a few more minutes, until Justice and Enygma were left standing in the ring by themselves..... the lights would go out and when they came back up, Enygma was laid out in the ring with an Empire Eight flag draped over him, and as the credits started to roll, Eric Tyler is shown standing on the stage with another man in the shadows behind him.....Mickey Starr says he recognizes him and blurts, "Oh my god, that's Sha..".......the TV Feed ends and a rerun of The Price is Right begins.

*USPW American Wrestling TV Begins*

*Show opens with pyro going off as the camera pans around the campus of Kansas State University. Danny Jillefski & Mickey Starr welcome everyone to American Wrestling TV. The talk about tonight's card and what happened on last week's show. Starr says that he knows the identity of the mystery man who was with Eric Tyler after the attach on Enygma at the end of the show last week. We are interrupted by Jillefke saying that something is going on in the back and we are taken to backstage area....

*The camera cut in where a crowd has gathered around what we soon learn is USPW owner, Sam Strong. His daughter Alicia is holding her dad's head screaming for help as we see the bloody, unconscious body of Sam Strong laying on the floor with what looks like a lead pipe covered in blood laying next to them and the Empire Eight flag. Enygma runs over and says to Alicia that he will get to the bottom of these attacks no matter what it takes and he storms off with the flag and pipe in hand.....

*We go back to the ring where Jillefski and Starr announce the first of three qualifying matches for the new USPW Soaring Eagle Title. The first two men that come out are both newcomers to the USPW, Matthew Keith and James Hernandez come down to generic theme music, Starr makes a comment that it's never a good sign when your theme music is by the house band....then

plays and Darryl Devine makes his way out with Seduction in tow.

* Match begins with Keith and Devine working together on Hernandez, until Keith take advantage of Hernandez going to the floor.
* Keith remains in control over Devine, until Hernandez recovers and comes off the top rope and takes Keith and Devine both out.
* All three men going all out, crowd into the match...Devine is able to toss Hernandez back outside of ring and land the Dream Drop on Keith while Seduction holds Hernandez's leg to keep him from breaking up the pin.
WINNER - Darryl Devine @ 9:24 via pinfall after Devine landed a Dream Drop on Keith.

*We come back from commercial to Enygma's

and the World Champ makes his way down to the ring with the Empire Eight flag and lead pipe in his hands. He grabs a mic and climbs into the ring looking severely pissed off.....

Now I know you and your little lackey are here, so why don't you save me and these fans the trouble of having to look for you and get your ASSES OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!!!!"

*The lights flicker and go out in the arena and the 'Empire Eight' logo displays on the jumbo-tron followed by

by Rage Against The Machine and from the back comes Eric Tyler, alone...Enygma looks around at the crowd as they shout and boo at Tyler.

"Didn't anyone ever tell you that you need to watch your mouth? There are kids present and I think I speak for their parents that we don't appreciate your mouth....now....before we continue, I want to just say that I am not a hard man to find...all you need to do is ask and I shall appear....I have nothing to hide. Like I said last week, now is not the time to reveal what is going to happen....no.....what you and everyone else on USPW roster need to embrace is that change is coming....and when I am finished....a new Traditional Era will dawn...and the glory from the East shall rise up and take what is rightfully ours....."

"...Rightfully yours? What makes you think that you are entitled to anything? You and whoever you have lurking in the shadows have earned NOTHING around here! The only thing you have done is attacked a the owner of this company, not once...but twice now....but your biggest mistake so far was that you laid your hands on ME with the lights off.....so what I propose is this....why don't you go find where ever your balls went since you retired and go grab your little buddy and meet me in the ring and we will see who is entitled to what around here!"

"Woah, hold on there chief.....we don't do things on your time around here...not anymore....we do them on MY TIME! And I will dictate when and where things happen.....now isn't the time.....so I suggest you relax and go tend to old man Strong, because things are going to get a little crazy around here real soon....ta ta for now champ....heh...well, we can call you that for a couple more weeks...."

*Tyler drops the mic and leave the stage leaving Enygma in the ring fuming at what just went down.....eventually he drops the mic and leave the ring and walks to the back.

*Mickey Starr talks about the open challenge laid down by Andre Jones two weeks ago and how Jones beat Captain USA last week and his bashing of Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling. Just then, Andre Jones's theme music hits and the TV Champ comes down to the ring cocky as ever as the crowd boos. Jones grabs a mic and continues taunting PSW and lack of talent in the UPSW....just then,

begins to play and out comes Grandmaster Phunk wearing a PSW t-shirt as the crowd goes nuts chanting "PS-Dub, PS-Dub".

* Match begins with Phunk playing to the crowd and he uses that to take early control with a couple of near falls.
* Jones collects himself on the floor and then drags Phunk out and uses the guard rail to his advantage and regains control of the match.
* Jones taunts Phunk and the crowd before twarting a small comeback attempt from and lands a Blast from the Past.
WINNER and STILL USPW TV Champ - Andre Jones @ 9:37 via pinfall after Jones landed a Blast from the Past on Phunk.

*After the match, Jones celebrates his victory and on the mic says that he has proven time and time again that there is no competition for him....just then Welcome to the Jungle begins to play and The Force runs down to the ring. He does his normal routine, and grabs a mic and then begins to tell Jones that since he feels there is no competition....it's time to raise the bar....he accepts his challenge, but not for next week....but at Stars, Stripes and Slams! The crowd goes crazy and Jones is furious and attacks The Force, but is embarrassed and thrown over the top rope...Force poses on the top rope and Jones is running back up the ramp as we go to commercial.

*We come back from commercial to Danny Rushmore and Mick Muscles in the back talking about the match against Savage Fury. They are pissed that the stipulation was put on this match that if Savage Fury wins, the Tag Title Match at Stars, Stripes and Slams becomes a three team elimination match. They agree they need to take care of business and head to the ring.

* Rushmore botches a move off the top rope and it allows Java to land his Greetings From The Island for the win
WINNERS - Savage Fury @ 11:15 via pinfall after Java landed a Greetings from the Island on Rushmore.

*We cut to the back where we see Enygma looking all over the building for Eric Tyler. When he sees the camera he begins to taunt Tyler, calling him a coward and that if he was a real man, he would come at him head on. Enygma continues to open doors and look inside, but as he turns the corner, we see the same man that was stalking Sam Strong last week appear...his back to the camera and we hear a snicker....and we fade to commercial.

*We come back from commercial as Starr and Jillefski recap what has occurred and give us an update on the health of Sam Strong. We learn he has suffered some serious injuries and we do not know when he will be released form the hospital. Welcome to the Jungle begins to play and The Force runs down to the ring and does his circle and plays to the crowd.

* Match begins with the two men doing an old school test of strength...which T-Rex eventually wins
* T-Rex lands some power moves but can only get two counts.
* The Force uses the power of the fans cheers to regain momentum and as he is about to put T-Rex down, Andre Jones runs down and nails The Force with a chair, forcing Robbie Sanchez to call for the bell.
WINNER- The Force @ 9:11 via DQ after Andre Jones attacked The Force.

*After the match, Jones continues the beating of The Force, screaming at him that no one embarrasses him and gets away with it. He is eventually chased off by Road Agents and security.

*After the break a video recap of last week's Main Event is shown, where James Justice and Enygma took on The Titans. Justice is then shown backstage and he says that T-Rex needs to pay attention to this because he is going to show a preview of what is to come at Stars, Stripes and Slams.

* Match begins with Jackson using his power to take early control
* Justice mounts a comeback but it is short lived as Shane Sneer make sure that Jackson stays in control
* Justice is able to reverse a powerbomb and eventually hit the Liberation Slam for the win
WINNER- James Justice@ 12:24 via Pin after Justice hit a Liberation Slam on Jackson.

*Justice is celebrating his victory, when the lights go out and the Empire Eight logo is flashed on the screen. When the lights come back on, Justice is still standing in the ring, looking at the jumbo tron, but he is not alone in the ring. Mickey Starr yells out that the man he saw standing behind Eric Tyler last week is now the man in the ring behind Justice.....

*...SHAWN GONZALEZ!!! As Justice turns around, Gonzalez lands a big clothesline and just begins to beat the hell out of Justice. He lands a vicious looking Brain Buster and then stands over Justice, pulls out an Empire Eight flag and lays it over Justice. The lights go out again, and when they come back up Gonzalez is gone and all that is left is Justice laying in the ring with the flag draped over him as we fade to commercial....

*We come back from commercial and a reply of what just happened is shown, but the questions are flying whether or not there are more members of this Empire Eight.

* Match begins with Baine taking Caulfield and beating him into a corner
* Caulfield fighs back and eventually takes the big man down and they both go to the outside and fight.
* Bruce The Giant comes grabs Caulfield as he is outside the ring from the crowd and lands a choke slam, allowing Baine to land a Hades Bomb
WINNER- Tyson Baine @ 12:50 via Pin after a Hades Bomb.

*Bruce and Baine continue the assault for a while, until Enygma runs out from the back and evens the odds. The four men go at it for a bit, until Bruce and Caulfield fight to the back leaving Enygma and Baine in the ring. Enygma climbs the top rope but is stopped by Eric Tyler and Shawn Gonzalez, who knock him off the rope and begin to assault him leaving him down and out in the ring....Tyler grabs a mic and says that the revolution has just started....and there are more coming to take up the fight....and he warns the locker room that some of these "revolutionaries" are right under their noses....he drops the mic and the closing credits roll with Tyler and Gonzalez posing over the broken body of Enygma......

Pro Wrestling Max review of United States Pro Wrestling's American Wrestling TV on January 13th, 2010 from the Huntsville County Fairground.

A crowd of about 4400 shuffled into the Huntsville County Fairground for the Live TV broadcast of USPW's American Wrestling TV. Although a slightly smaller crowd, this one seemed more vocal, especially on the heels of the attack on Sam Strong by this unknown 'Empire Eight'. The fans that I talked to all had different ideas about who was behind the attacks, everyone from Tyson Baine to Anger to even a heel turn for Captain USA, but none of them felt that it could be someone from outside the company. In my opinion, I think it is someone from the outside, maybe someone from Strong's past? Hopefully we find out later tonight.

Dark Match #1 - The Force vs Samoan Machine

I had heard rumors that the USPW had signed the Samoan Machine and was really happy to see those rumors were true, he is a good worker in my opinion. Solid match, but your typical dark match debut, especially against a mainstay like The Force. If they use him right, Samoan Machine will be a nice addition. . GRADE = C-

Dark Match #2 - The Towers of Power vs Brandon Smith & James Hernandez

Two more new signings for the company making their debuts against the team who I feel will be the next Tag Team Champs. Both Smith and Hernandez have made names for themselves on the Indy circuit so now is the time for them to show they can shine. A pretty good match, but like the first match, it was predictable. . GRADE = D+

The show began like last week, a lot of pyro and a the new video and then Sam Strong made his way down to the ring looking for answers. I loved watching Sam Strong's promos back in his SWF days, and even though he is now in his 60s, the man looks like he can still mix it up. Loved how he keeps referring the building as "his house" and the fans are really behind him. I was very excited when a new theme song hit after Strong demanded answers, but was even more excited to see Eric Tyler as one of the men responsible for the attack and the 'Empire Eight'. From the sounds of things, this group is going to consist of new faces to the company, which in my opinion will really help freshen up things (just fire The Hillbillies already!). I was glad that they did not reveal any of the other men in this new faction, this has peaked my interest.

Last week, Captain USA answered the open challenge from Jones, and while I do love all that Captain USA has done throughout his career, I can't see him taking this one. Overall a decent match, your typical good vs evil battle, with evil prevailing in the end. Captain USA may be nearing the end of the line, but the man can still work in the ring. GRADE = C-

After the match, Jones really laid it on thick, bashing the fans and the lack of competition on the USPW roster, but what really surprised me was how far he went when talking down about Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling, he really does not seem to like that company. I know that PSW is going to be in the Manhattan Kansas area next week, the same time USPW is there, so I would not be surprised to see one of their top guys accept the challenge for the TV Title.

Bonus Match - Raven Robinson vs Cherry Bomb

Glad to see they are giving some TV time to the ladies, they not only work their butts off, but they are much easier on the eyes than Tyson Baine or Giant Redwood. A good match, but something seemed off between these two ladies, they had a couple spots that were just awkward, thankfully it didn't last too long.. GRADE = D

Robinson was celebrating in the ring when a woman ran past where I was sitting and hopped the rail and just obliterated Robinson while she was on the middle rope. Looks like they are going to build the Women's Division with the addition of Joanne Rodriguez. I smell a possible title match at the PPV.

Match #3 - The People's Team vs Johnny Martin & Alex Braun

Looks like there has been some sort of talent trade between the USPW and PSW, not that I am complaining. Most of the fans knew who Martin and Braun are and they started a "P-S-Dub" chant when Datsun and Martin were in the ring together. An average match that seemed a little forced because Martin and Braun did not seem to click as a tag team.. GRADE = D+

Post match The Towers of Power came out and challenged The People's Team for the Tag Titles at the PPV, so it looks like all the titles may be on the line at the end of the month.

Valentine is just a terrible wrestler, but his persona makes people hate him, and therefor want to see him in the ring. A pretty good match overall, Valentine looks like he is improving his in ring skills, while Java should just be used in tag matches, but it is what it is.. GRADE = C

Match #5 - Chris Caulfied & Nicky Champion vs Bruce The Giant & Giant Redwood

Champion is being billed as the future of the company, so having him run in and save Caulfield last week was a good way to get him more over. The two giants did a decent job together, but to me Caulfield is worth the price of admission, he was one of my favorites in DAVE and I still love watching him now. A good match, even with the two stiff big men out there, and watching Caulfield get Redwood up for the Danger Drop.. GRADE = C+

Main Event - The Titans (Baine & T-Rex) vs Enygma & James Justice

These four men will meet each other at the PPV in singles matches, and after last weeks atack by The Titans on Enygma was a no brainer, so making this tag match was a great way to build up those matches. In my opinion, the best match of the night, all these men can bring it, and even though T-Rex looked tired in the end, the match had some great crowd interaction and a lot of heat... GRADE = B

Following the match, The Titans tried to get some revenge and began to attack Justice and Enygma. The fighting went into the crowd for a bit and finally back into the ring, where The Titans were beaten back and up the ramp a bit. When the lights went off, you could see someone on the ramp and someone jumped into the ring and nailed one of the guys, and when the lights came back on, we saw Enygma laid out with the Empire Eight flag over him and Eric Tyler on the ramp with someone behind him that I thought looked like Shawn Gonzalez, but was not sure.

OVERALL THOUGHTS - Better then last week, but still need some improvement on the under card. Revealing Eric Tyler as the leader of the Empire Eight was a nice change, usually we have to wait for weeks before these types of things are revealed. I know we have a lot more questions, but its a good start. Looking forward to next week up in Manhattan, KS.

We receive the update that he has sustained a concussion and some broken ribs and has some legiment damage to his knee and shoulder. His return to the company is unknown, but we are assured that the company is in good hands.

*USPW Stars Stripes & Slams 2010 Begins*

*Show opens up with a new music video and shows a very rowdy crowd holding up various signs screaming and yelling, we cut to the announce table where Danny Jillefski is joined by Shane Snear instead of Mickey Starr. The two men welcome everyone to the first ever Pay-Per-View event held by the USPW. The briefly mention that the new USPW Soaring Eagle Title will be determined in a few weeks in a three way match between Darryl Devine, Brandon Smith and Steve Flash, who just won the final qualifier tonight. The then run through the card for tonight and mention that owner Sam Strong could not be here because of the injuries that he suffered at the hands of the Empire Eight. Just then, Stars & Stripes Forever begins to play and Captain USA comes out to a very loud cheer. He grabs a mic and tells welcomes the fans to the historical event but gets right down to business and says that he requested this match because of the pain that Sam Strong had to endure and he will exact some revenge....he then calls Shawn Gonzalez out.....the lights flicker, then go off and

begins to play and Gonzalez appears on the stage with Eric Tyler and makes is way down to the ring.

Captain USA vs Shawn Gonzalez

* Match begins with Captain USA leading the crowd in a "USA" chant.
* Gonzalez controlled the match from the opening bell, a lot of holds working on the back of Captain USA.
* A small comeback by Captain USA, but Gonzalez looked like he got tired of toying with him and locked the Latino Cab for the tap out.
WINNER - Shawn Gonzalez @ 7:41 via submission after Gonzalez locked the Latino Crab on Captain USA.

*After the match, Eric Tyler grabs a mic and begins to taunt the fans and then turns his attention to Captain USA, calling him washed up and a complete disgrace to the industry. He motions to Gonzalez who begins to attack an already injured Captain USA, finally leaving him alone after 3 Brain Busters and paramedics came out with security to stop the assault. Tyler and Gonzalez smile at each other, then Tyler says that there are a couple men who need to have eyes in the back of their head tonight...he drops the mic and they leave the ring.

*We cut to the locker room where we see Joanne Rodriguez getting ready for her match with Raven Robinson....she sees the camera and takes the opportunity to taunt Robinson and tell us that we are looking at the new USPW Women's champ!

* Match begins with the two ladies locking up in the middle of the ring, trying to size each other up
* Rodriguez gets the upper hand and attempts to use some weapons from the outside, but they backfire on her
* Robinson uses one of the foreign objects to her favor and blinds Rodriguez with some powder and lands the Night Faller for the win
WINNER and STILL USPW Women's Champ - Raven Robinson @ 13:59 via pinfall after Robinson pinned Rodriguez after a Night Faller .

*Alicia Strong comes walking down to the ring with a mic and talks about the status of her dad, she says how sorry he is for not being here and how much the fans mean to him and a tribute video is played....Alicia starts to talk about how much it means to her that people are here for them, then suddenly

begins to play and Belle Bryden comes out with a gets into the ring and begins to tell everyone how fake Alicia is and she is only here because of her name, they got back and forth a bit until Bryden dumps the entire contents of the bucket she found from under the ring into Strong, leaving her trying to cover up as Bryden leaves laughing at Strong

*Andre Jones is backstage getting ready to come out for his TV Title defense, he begins to taunt The Force and reminds us how he beat him last month and he know he has no problem doing it again. but this time The Force will not leave under his own power.

* Match begins with Jones attacking The Force as he played to the crowd
* The Force would gain control with a series of shoulder blocks, press slams and dropkicks
* A few near falls, then Jones reverses a rollup and gets the cover by using the ropes
WINNER and STILL USPW TV Champ - Andre Jones @ 16:26 via pin after Jones used the ropes for leverage to get the pin on The Force.

*A music video is shown in tribute to Sam Strong, who is working his way back to health and will be returning to the ring eventually.

*James Justice is in his locker room and he talks about his match tonight with T-Rex, and while he won't take him lightly, he sees the bigger problem being the Empire Eight, especially Shawn Gonzalez.. He accepts the challenge from this past American TV and then leaves to head down for his match.

* Both men start off with equal amounts of offense
* T-Rex uses his power to keep Justice off his feel but Justice seems to get up each time he is knocked down
* A small window presents itself and Justice uses it to land his Liberation Slam for the win.
WINNER -James Justice @ 17:27 via pin after Justice hit a Liberation Slam on T-Rez.

*After a brief interview with The Towers of Power, we end up seeing a video recap of how The People's Team won the belts from The Towers of Power a couple months ago. We then go down to the ring where each team is entering the arena,

*For the USPW Tag Team Championship*

* Towers of Power and Savage Fury would not tag in either of the champs
* Datsun forces himself in with a tag and gains the upperhand
* Rushmore takes control of match after a couple near falls and lands an Atomic Boot on Des Davids for the win
WINNERS and NEW USPW Tag Team Champs - The Towers of Power @ 19:51 via pin after Rushmore hit an Atomic Boot on Davids.

*Chris Caulfield is sitting on the floor with his back to the cement wall in a dark hallway. He talks about the glory days and how he hopes that that feeling will spread to the USPW. He talks about the #1 Contender's match he has and then bashes Bruce The Giant, telling him that he will beat him tonight...make no excuses.

* The two men stand face to face in the ring to start
* Bruce grabs Caulfield around the throat and attampts to chock slam him, but Caulfield gets out of it and a running clothesline takes both men to the floor,
* They continue to battle, like they are the only two men in the arena, ignoring the rerefere's warnings, so he has no choice but to call for the bell and DQ both men
Double DQ!!

*Peter Valentine is in the back talking about how great he is and that Nicky Champion is only here because he has gotten so far up Sam Strong's ass, he can get whoever he wants in a match.

* Champion gets control, but loses it quickly
* Champion sees Eric Tyler come out and during the argument, Tyler tries to hit Champion with a tire iron but knocks Valentine off the rop and lets Champion to hit a Hawkeye
WINNER and NEW USPW National Champion - Nicky Champion @ 21:14 when Champion hit the Hawkeye Hammer on Valentine after Eric Tyler missed Champion and knocked Valentine out.

*Enygma is standing outside in a playground. He talks about his rivalry with Tyson Baine and then gets into the Empire Eight, saying that they think they are in control but they have another thing coming.

* Great start to the match, Enygma jumping all around off the ropes while Baine tried to catch him
* Baine eventually is able to knock Enygma down and land a bunch of power moves on him
* Enygma fights back when the crowd chants his name, eventually locking on the Enygma Variation, causing Baine to tap out
WINNER and STILL USPW World Champion - Enygma @ 25:39 when Enygma put
Baine in the Enygma Variation .

*The lights flicker and then go off and when the come back on, Shawn Gonzalez and Eric Tyler are in the ring laying the boots to Enygma. Tyler motions for Baine to join in which he does. James Justice runs down and cleans house, saving Enygma from more of a beating. As it looks like things are settling down, the lights go off again and then come back on for a second, where we see Enygma laid out with the Empire Eight flag draped over his chest with Justice looking around for who did it....the lights go off again, and when they come back on......standing behind James Justice, wearing an Empire Eight shirt is.....

ACID!!!!!

*The crowd is yelling for Justice to turn around, and when he does Acid kicks him in the gut and lands a neck breaker on him and then picks him back up and nails a pile driver.....he stands up, pauses, then goes and grabs a chair and nails Enygma with it, lays it down and picks Justice back up and lands another pile driver on the chair....the show fades off with a closeup of Acid's eyes....which it looks like he is smiling under his mask......
