BHOTWG - One Month Only (The Burning Battle)

Recommended Posts

I've never actually played a proper C-Verse game in Japan, but figured I'd give this a go. A one month (game time) diary, 9 cards altogether. Tournament format. The idea will be to put a card up every 2 or 3 days and get it done by New Year. Hopefully will be a good way to dip my toe into the game and let me get a bit of practice with match writeups, which have never been my strong point. Full details below..

(And an apology - I have no idea why 3 pictures aren't working, but it's so later that I'm going to sort it out tomorrow because I've been trying for 20 minutes and I'm not getting anywhere with them!)

The Burning Battle

Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods are proud to announce that in addition to their scheduled tours for next year they will be running an extra tour, lasting one month, in January.

32 wrestlers, split into 8 groups of 4, will compete in the Burning Battle tournament.

The 32 wrestlers currently signed to complete the upcoming Burning Battle tour have formed 8 stables, each consisting of 4 men.

Over the 8 shows leading to the Burning Battle big show on the final Saturday of the month, representatives of the stables will face off in a series of matches. Each card on the leadup to the show will involve a two six-man tag matches, two tag matches, and three singles matches. Over the 8 shows, every stable will face off against every other stable twice. The winning side in each match will score 2 points for their stable. In the event of a time limit draw, both sides will score 1 point. All matches will have a time-limit of 40 minutes, except for those involving at least one team captain, which will have a time limit of 60 minutes.

As BHOTWG expects each and every competitor to fight with honour, in the event of a disqualification, the disqualified side will LOSE 1 point.

At The Burning Battle, the first champions will be crowned in WAR. All wrestlers from the two stables with the most points will face off in a one night, eight-man tournament for the new Burning Battle Trophy.

The line-ups of the 8 teams taking part are as follows.

Team INSPIRE

Tadiyuki Kikkawa, Tasuku Iesada, Shimedzu and Bairei Yasujiro

Two of the four wrestlers who sensationally walked out on Burning Hammer to form INSPIRE 7 years ago, only to return a few years later, Kikkawa and Iesada are perhaps the most hated men in Japan. There's no doubting their skills, though - between them they hold both the Burning World Championship and the King of Fighters title. They will team up with veteran tag wrestler Shimedzu and former WLW star Yasujiro.

Team Mystery

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/BlackEagle_alt5-1.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/PhenomenalE_alt1.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/GoldenScorpion.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/TheAwesomeKiyaru.jpg

American Optimus, Red Panther, Golden Scorpion and The Awesome Kiyaru

Four of the country's top masked wrestlers team up to try and prove they can take on the bigger men. American Optimus, the team captain, is a former Best of the SUper Juniors champion, while Kiyaru won that tournament 3 years running in the early 2000s. Their partners have a combined 30 years of experience and they're one of the only stables to have two regular tag teams pairing up - will that be enough to counter the weight disadvantage they face against many teams?

Team Bomb Devils

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/HiroakiNakasawa.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/MarihitoMasuko.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/HeihachiroSakai.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/AtsumoriTakemura.jpg

Hiroaki Nakasawa, Marihito Masuko, Heihachiro Sakai, Atsumori Takemura

Nakasawa is a 17-year veteran who became a star when he beat Bruce The Giant to win the Burning World title 7 years ago. At the opposite end of the experience scale, 2010 Ling School graduate Atsumori Takemura, by far the least experienced man in the Burning Battle, is something of a protege of Nakasawa and was hand-picked by him to take the fourth spot in the team. They'll team with Masuko, one of the best Juniors of the last decade in Burning Hammer, and Sakai, who has been on the roster for just six months but prior to that had a six-year run as a top star in Hinote Dojo.

Team Power

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/YasunobuMasuno.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/YasuhikoTaira.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/HachigoroMaeda.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/HaruKurofuji.jpg

Yasunobu Masuno, Yasuhiko Taira, Hachigoro Maeda, Haru Kurofuji

The occasional team of Black Magic, Masuno and Taira, are two of the top stars in the promotion. Maeda first found fame in WLW as the futuristic Cyber Fighter 3000, but has achieved significantly more success under his real name. He's one half of the Burning Junior tag team champions with one of his teammates in the Burning Battle, Kurofuji.

Team Sensation

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/MasaakiOkazaki.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/SensationalDragon.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/NisshoYuasa-2.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/ToshikiShibanumo.jpg

Masaaki Okazaki, Sensational Dragon, Nissho Yuasa, Toshiki Shibanumo

Multi-time Junior champion Sensational Dragon teams with submission specialist and former INSPIRE wrestler Okazaki, brawler Yuasa and veteran all-rounder Shibanumo in perhaps the most well-rounded of teams.

Team Tradition

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/KinnojoHorri.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/MitsunariFugunaga.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/SessueKawate.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/SanetomoShiraishi.jpg

Kinnojo Horri, Mitsunari Fugunaga, Sessue Kawate, Sanetomo Shiraishi

Horri, former world champion and hand-picked succesor to Kikkawa when he went to INSPIRE, is a 10-year pro who's by far the least experienced on his team. Fugunaga, who wrestles in an MMA-inspired style, and 30-year pros Kawate and Shiraishi should provide him with able back-up.

Team Lightning

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/TadakuniToshusai.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/MysticDragon_alt1.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/Venom.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/YoshiiShiomi.jpg

Tadakuni Toshusai, MYSTIC Dragon, VENOM and Yoshii Shiomi

Toshusai, the youngest of the eight team captains, is a former tag star who has gradually risen up to the main event since his partner Koshihiro Ino moved to the States. Former Burning Junior champion MYSTIC Dragon and two time Burning Junior Tag champs VENOM and Yoshii Shiomi round out a team which is by far the smallest and youngest, but also the quickest.

Team Explosion

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/EijiHamacho.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/ChuichiSanda.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/ElementalIII.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/NatsuMiyamae.jpg

Eiji Hamacho, Chuichi Sanda, Elemental III, Natsu Miyamae

A pair of veterans with a combined total of nearly 50 years experience, Hamacho and Sanda are the best team in BHOTWG and possibly the best in Japan. Burning Junior champion Elemental III and Miyamae, who can take on just about anyone, make this a team which may be lacking in superstars but certainly isn't short on talent.

1st card line-up will be up tomorrow (oh, later today, looking at the time!) but feel free to comment/predict who's going to win this thing while you wait.

<strong>Tadiyuki Kikkawa, Shimedzu and Baieri Yasujiro (INSPIRE) vs Red Panther, Golden Scorpion and The Awesome Kiyaru (Mystery)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Team Mystery here showed some great teamwork, with Panther and Scorpion isolating Baieri Yasujiro early on and working over his leg, before The Awesome Kiyaru tagged in and hit a few double teams with regular partner Scorpion. Somehow, though, Yasujiro couldn't be put away, and made a desperation tag to Shimedzu after Panther missed a dropkick attempt. From there, Shimedzu and Scorpion went to the mat with some impressive chain wrestling, before Tadiyuki Kikkawa finally tagged in and nearly decapitated Scorpion with a Burning Lariat. At that point, he didn't get the pin, with Panther breaking the attempt up. Scorpion was down, though, and needed to be dragged over to his own corner to tag in Panther, who darted in and attacked Kikkawa with a few high impact moves but eventually ate a Burning Lariat himself for the pin. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hiroaki Nakasawa, Marihito Masuko, and Atsumori Takemura (Bomb Devils) vs Haru Kurofiji, Yasunobu Masuno and Yasuhiko Taira (Power) </strong></p><p> </p><p>

Nakasawa and Masuko wrestled this one almost as a tag team, both of them trying to keep the rookie Takemura out of the ring for as long as possible. Eventually, he blind tagged himself in out of frustration, and faced off against Masuno. He took it to the big brawler with some hard strikes, but Masuno barely seemed fazed by them, and quickly managed to lift the youngster into a Day of Rackening, leaving him with no choice but to submit.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sessue Kawate and Sanetomo Shiraishi (Tradition) vs Nissho Yuasa and Toshiki Shibanumo (Sensation) </strong></p><p> </p><p>

If the previous match was on the short side, fans in attendance seemed unanimous in thinking this one went on too long - especially since the usually reliable Sessue Kawate had a poor match, blowing several spots. We did get to see some decent double teams from theasse established pairings, with Yuasa and Shibanumo taking control early on only for Shiraishi to fight back and make a hot tag to Kawate, sinking to the floor outside the ring and clutching his knee, a perpetual problem for him over the last decade. Somehow, Kawate managed to hold his own against the tag team, sending Yuasa to the outside with an explosive belly to belly suplex which saw him practically bounce off the mat and through the ropes. After that, he hit his Freeze Frame finisher on Shibanumo and Shiraishi was able to recover enough to catch Yuasa's leg as he tried to get in there and break the pin up.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>American Optimus (Mystery) vs Kinnojo Horri (Tradition) </strong></p><p> </p><p>

This pair were asked to go out and warm the crowd up and did a great job of it, working a good big man/little man match. Horri's power meant that whenever he could get his hands on Optimus AO was in trouble, but Optimus did a remarkably good job of keeping out of the bigger man's reach for twenty minutes or so. He even came within a split second of getting a memorable upset win, as a hurricanrana nearly kept Horri down for the three. In the end, it couldn't last - a big boot from Horri, followed by a superplex, and finally a powerbomb was enough to get him the win.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Eiji Hamacho and Chuichi Sanda (Explosion) vs VENOM and Yoshii Shiomi (Lightning)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

There was always going to be problems living up to that last match, and these four barely even tried. This was a perfectly standard showcase for some good double teaming by Sanda and Hamacho and some reasonable selling from the Team Lightning pair. Sanda's top rope DDT on VENOM would get the win.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tadakuni Toshusai (Lightning) vs Hiraoki Nakasawa (Bomb Devils) </strong></p><p> </p><p>

This is a good old-fashioned slobberknocker, with both men hitting hard and taking an incredible amount of punishment. Toshusai has the crowd firmly behind him as he screams with pain when he's put down by a big powerbomb for a 2-count, then comes close to winning himself with a massive powerslam. In the end, with the Shocker looking tired, it's Nakasawa who gets the victory simply by throwing his opponent to the corner, hitting ten punches, and then catching him with a vicious Tornado DDT for the three.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Masaaki Okazaki (Sensation) vs Tasuku Iesada (INSPIRE)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

A technical masterclass here from these two men, with submission attempts and reversals galore. Iesada manages to lock on a Boston crab which looks like it will get him the victory, but somehow Okazaki powers out and goes on the offensive, working over the arm of the Team INSPIRE fighter. Eventually, with nearly 50 minutes gone, an Angular Arm Bar gets the victory for Okazaki. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Masaaki Okazaki (Sensation) vs Hachigoro Maeda (Power)</strong> </p><p> </p><p>

Okazaki moves from main event to opener to make sure this card starts off with a bang. His nearly-50 minute war against Iesada was the best match on our last show, and he got the win with an Angular Arm Bar. Maeda was the only man of Team Power to sit out the first night - which could be a big advantage, especially given just how long his opponent was in there for.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/GoldenScorpion.jpg</span><span>http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/TheAwesomeKiyaru.jpg</span> vs <span>http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/MarihitoMasuko.jpg</span><span>http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/HeihachiroSakai.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Golden Scorpion and The Awesome Kiyaru (Mystery) vs Marihito Masuko and Heihachiro Sakai (Bomb Devils)</strong> </p><p> </p><p>

Along with Red Panther, the Team Mystery duo nearly pulled off a memorable upset win against highly-rated Team INSPIRE in the first event. Heihachiro Sakai failed to make it to the arena on time for his match, meaning team captain Hiraoki Nakasawa wrestled twice. (OOC: Or maybe I screwed up slightly there.) He'll be keen to impress when he steps in the ring for the first time in the tournament.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sensational Dragon, Nissho Yuasa and Toshiki Shibanumo (Sensation) vs Eiji Hamacho, Chuichi Sanda and Natsu Miyamae (Explosion)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Yuasa and Shibanumo couldn't beat the experienced team of Sessue Kawate and Sanetomo Shiraishi last time out, while Sensational Dragon wasn't chosen for the card. Eiji Hamacho and Chuichi Sanda made short work of their Team Lightning opponents and are likely to be fairly fresh compared to most of the men who fought two nights ago, while Miyamae didn't compete as his team had just the one tag match.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mitsunari Fuguna, Sessue Kawate and Sanetomo Shiraishi (Tradition) vs MYSTIC Dragon, VENOM and Yoshii Shiomi (Lightning)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Team Tradition are the only team with four points so far, helped by the experienced team of Sessue Kawate and Sanetomo Shiraishi beating Yuasa and Shibanumo last time out. Team Lightning are on zero, and VENOM and Shiomi never came close to upsetting Eiji Hamacho and Chuichi Sanda.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hiroaki Nakasawa (Bomb Devils) vs Kinnojo Horri (Tradition)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Nakasawa pulled double duty two days ago, beating Tadakuni Toshusai in the semi-main after losing to Team Power in a six-man match. Horri took on American Optimus, who did surprisingly well against him but couldn't pick up a win.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Black Magic (Power) vs Team INSPIRE (INSPIRE)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The occasional tag team Black Magic, consisting of Yasunobu Masuno and Yasuhiko Taira, picked up a win in a six man tag on Tuesday's show. Kikkawa won the other six man match, while Iesada lost in the main event, a 50 minute bout against Masaaki Okazaki.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Masaaki Okazaki (Sensation) vs Hachigoro Maeda (Power)

These two were sent out to get the crowd going and certainly delivered. While Ozazaki was the clear favourite to win this, and unloaded with a series of kicks early on to take control, including the famed Okazaki Kick Barrage to leave Maeda staggering around the ring, Maeda did make a brief comeback, and was able to get some good shots in including a spinning backfist which had the bigger man reeling, followed by an enziguri for a two. It was clear, though, that his legs had taken too much punishment for him to manage to hit much of his usual high risk offence, and in the end a moonsault attempt fell short allowing Okazaki to slap on the Angular Arm Bar for the tap out.

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Masaaki Okazaki defeated Hachigoro Maeda in 15:26 by submission with an Angular Arm Bar.

Golden Scorpion and The Awesome Kiyaru (Mystery) vs Marihito Masuko and Heihachiro Sakai (Bomb Devils)

After Team Mystery failed to rack up any points last time around, Scorpion and Kiyaru were keen to put that right here. This was a quick paced match which started off with Masuko and Scorpion exchanging a bunch of flashy kicks, before Masuko hit a glittering magician knee which looked like it might be enough for an early win. Kiyaru broke up the pin, though, and then was tagged in, allowing the experienced team to dominate the smaller wrestler with a few good double teams and frequent tags. It was Sakai's turn to break a pin up after the duo took out Masuko with a spiked powerbomb - a rarity for them, as there aren't that many wrestlers that either of them could use the move on. Sakai then managed to get the tag in, but he in turn got beaten down by some good double team moves, with Masuko too worn down to save him from Golden Scorpion's Scorpion Stinger.

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Kiyaru & Scorpion defeated Marihito Masuko and Heihachiro Sakai in 14:25 when Golden Scorpion defeated Heihachiro Sakai by pinfall with a Scorpion Stinger.

Sensational Dragon, Nissho Yuasa and Toshiki Shibanumo (Sensation) vs Eiji Hamacho, Chuichi Sanda and Natsu Miyamae (Explosion)

Natsu Miyamae started this one off against the huge Nissho Yuasa, nicknamed the Baby Elephant, and was able to frustrate the big man by frequently dropping to the mat and rolling out of the ring, running around and getting back in agan, to avoid him building any momentum. Yuasa finally caught him with a big powerbomb then tagged in Sensational Dragon who made an explosive start with a slingshot senton bomb, leaving Miyamae searching for a tag himself and bringing in Eiji Hamacho. With neither man managing to gain an advantage, both made tags themselves a bit later on, and Chuichi Sanda collided with Burning World tag champion Toshiki Shibanumo. Shibanumo didn't back down, standing and trading blows with the bigger man, but Sanda would finally gain victory with an Explosion Kick which came out of nowhere. After the three count, Sanda looked down at his fallen foe and made an "I want the belt" motion - the titles may not be at stake this month, but a couple more victories like that would put Sanda and Hamacho in strong contention for a shot on the next tour.

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Natsu Miyamae and Sanda & Hamacho defeated Sensational Dragon and Shibanumo & Yuasa in 22:44 when Chuichi Sanda defeated Toshiki Shibanumo by pinfall with an Explosion Kick.

Mitsunari Fuguna, Sessue Kawate and Sanetomo Shiraishi (Tradition) vs MYSTIC Dragon, VENOM and Yoshii Shiomi (Lightning)

This was little more than a spot-fest for the first ten minutes or so, with VENOM, Mystic Dragon and Shiomi taking it in turns to hit big moves like huracanranas, corkscrew sentons, and flying headscissors. Unfortunately for the lightweight trio, they never managed to isolate one man for long enough to do any serious damage, and a missed moonsault attempt by VENOM changed the course of the match. Shiraishi, who'd been the intended victim, tagged out to Kawate, and from there the more experienced trio worked over the junior's leg, with Fuguna eventually slapping on a figure-four for the submission victory.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Mitsunari Fugunaga and Kawate & Shiraishi defeated MYSTIC Dragon and Shiomi & VENOM in 16:22 when Mitsunari Fugunaga defeated VENOM by submission with a figure four leglock.

Elemental III (Explosion) vs Shimedzu (INSPIRE)

It would have been a brave man who'd bet on Shimedzu winning this one against the much younger and more popular Elemental III, and in truth, he got little offense in on the masked man. Elemental III hit a series of vicious kicks and a couple of high risk moves, ending things with an Inferno Splash for the victory.

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Elemental III defeated Shimedzu in 9:35 by pinfall with an Inferno Splash.

Hiroaki Nakasawa (Bomb Devils) vs Kinnojo Horri (Tradition)

Kinnojo Horri and Hiroaki Nakasawa, as team captains of Team Tradition and Team Bomb Devils, may have been expected to go all out to impress but it's doubtful anyone was prepared for quite such a bruising battle. The pair exchanged chops at the start for several minutes, with a short arm back elbow from Horri followed by a blindside high knee giving him the advantage. Horri went to town working over Nakasawa's back, mixing a brutal series of punches and stamps with a few big throws, including a gutwrench powerbomb which got 2 and 3/4 and a stump piledriver which came even closer to getting the win.

The match's first real turning point came when Nakasawa was sent into the corner with an Irish whip, and Horri charged after him, only for the H-Bomb to sidestep at the last second. Grabbing Horri's hair, Nakasawa slammed his opponent's head into the turnbuckle ten times before hitting his patented rolling German suplexes, following up with an overhead belly to belly suplex for a close call of his own. As Horri staggered to his feet, Nakasawa grabbed him with a big bear hug and held onto it for two minutes, but couldn't quite finish his opponent off - Horri's arm was raised; it dropped once, twice, but not a third time!

As Nakasawa sets Horri up for his feared Compression Bomb, he couldn't quite lift him, with the damage done to his back obviously having an effect, and Horri powered out with a big backdrop, then hit a huge legdrop to take control once more. A few minutes later, he signalled for the Destiny Bomb, and hit it for the three count and the victory!

In a bout that had great heat and great wrestling action, Kinnojo Horri defeated Hiroaki Nakasawa in 40:10 by pinfall with a Destiny Bomb.

Yasunobu Masuno/Yasuhiko Taira (Power) vs Tadiyuki Kikkawa/Tasuku Iesada (INSPIRE)

Masuno and Kikkawa kicked this one off with a knockdown, flat out brawl. Exchanging flurries of punches and lariats, they fought for about ten minutes before both simultaneously made a tag. Iesada came in and wrestled a cagey match, ducking out of the way of Taira as the bigger guy tried to get his hands on him, and keeping low on the floor to work over Taira's leg and knee. From there, Iesada took control with some tough kicks, stamps on the ground, and tagged out to Kikkawa who came in and slammed his opponent's knee into the ringpost. A wishbone legsplitter followed, before a few more tags were exchanged as the pair isolated Taira.

After a whip to the ropes, though, Taira ducked a lariat attempt and exploded off the opposite ropes with a running body smash, then dived over to make the hot tag. Masuno charged in and worked over Kikkawa, hitting a huge roundhouse to put him down before mounting him and pounding away with punches. A tilt-a-whirl backbreaker got 2 and a half, then a slingshot suplex got even closer to the win.

Kikkawa would fight back, tagging out to Iesada, who came in with a rolling wheel kick, and a few minutes later the referee seemed to lose control as all four men ended up in the ring, with little indication as to who was legal. Kikkawa lifted up Taira and put him down with the devastating Kikkawa Driver, as Masuno scooped up Iesada and hit the Masuno Avalanche Bomb. Both men made a cover, but as the referee looked on, trying to work out which - if any - to count, the timekeeper rang the bell to signal that this match was a 60 minute time limit draw!

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Black Magic drew with Team INSPIRE in 60:00 when the time limit expired.

Burning Battle Tour (Thursday) Week 2

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/BlackEagle_alt5-1.jpg vs http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/SensationalDragon.jpg

American Optimus (Mystery) vs Sensational Dragon (Sensation)

It's sure to be an explosive opener as two of the best lightweights in the world, both Best of The Super Juniors winners in the past, collide. Both are 0-1 so far, with Optimus taking the much bigger Kinnojo Horri to the limit but coming up short, while Dragon lost in a six-man match last Thursday.

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/MasaakiOkazaki.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/NisshoYuasa-2.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/ToshikiShibanumo.jpgvs

Masaaki Okazaki, Nissho Yuasa and Toshiki Shibanumo (Sensation) vs MYSTIC Dragon, VENOM and Yoshii Shiomi (Lightning)

The lightweight trio from Team Lightning aim to bounce back from disappointment last Thursday as they started strongly against Mitsunari Fuguna, Sessue Kawate and Sanetomo Shiraishi, only for the more experienced team to come back and take the win. This will be another tough one, though, for the only team yet to score a point - Okazaki has already beaten two top guys in Hachigoru Maeda and Tasuku Iesada, while the tag champions may be 0-2 but are always a dangerous duo to face.

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/GoldenScorpion.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/TheAwesomeKiyaru.jpg vs http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/Shimedzu.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/BaireiYasujiro.jpg

Golden Scorpion and The Awesome Kiyaru (Mystery) vs Shimedzu and Bairei Yasujiro (INSPIRE)

A week after these teams collided in six-man action, they'll go up against each other for the second and final time in the tournament. That time around Scorpion and Kiyaru lost, but they bounced back with a good win against Marihito Masuko and Heihachiro Sakai last Thursday and will be aiming to build on that this time around.

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/EijiHamacho.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/ChuichiSanda.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/NatsuMiyamae.jpgvs

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/KinnojoHorri.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/SessueKawate.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/SanetomoShiraishi.jpg

Kinnojo Horri, Sessue Kawate and Sanetomo Shiraishi (Tradition) vs Eiji Hamacho, Chuichi Sanda and Natsu Miyamae (Explosion)

Team Tradition are the only team to have the maximum eight points at this stage of the tournament, while Explosion are clear in second with six. A win for either here would send a clear message to the chasing pack. Team Tradition captain Horri looked good defeating American Optimus last Tuesday and Hiroaki Nakasawa last Thursday, while the ultra-experienced team have already won one six-man match. Hamacho and Sanda, though, made a clear statement of their intent to dominate when they beat tag champs Nissho Yuasa and Toshiki Shibanumo in six-man action last week and made motions suggesting they'd be going after the pair's belts once this tournament is over - many more impressive victories and a title shot is surely in their future.

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/ElementalIII.jpg vs http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/HachigoroMaeda.jpg

Elemental III (Explosion) vs Hachigoro Maeda (Power)

Elemental III dominated his match against Shimedzu last week, but Maeda should be a significantly tougher prospect to go up against.

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/YasunobuMasuno.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/YasuhikoTaira.jpg vs http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/HiroakiNakasawa.jpghttp://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/MarihitoMasuko.jpg

Black Magic (Power) vs Hiroaki Nakasawa and Marihito Masuko (Bomb Devils)

Three of the best brawlers in the company will collide here, with the odd man out being former Junior champion Marihito Masuko. Will the speed of Masuko give him and Nakasawa an advantage, or will the pair of big men squash him like a bug?

http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/TadakuniToshusai.jpg vs http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/Jaded2013/TadiyukiKikkawa.jpg

Tadakuni Toshusai (Lightning) vs Tadiyuki Kikkawa (INSPIRE)

Toshusai came up short against Bomb Devils captain Hiroaki Nakasawa last time around, but is a danger any time and with his team on 0 points will be desperate to get off the mark. World champion Kikkawa teamed with Tasuku Iesada to draw with Black Magic in a sixty minute match which reached the time limit, possibly the best match yet on the Burning Battle Tour.

Quick picks:

American Optimus (Mystery) vs Sensational Dragon (Sensation)

Masaaki Okazaki, Nissho Yuasa and Toshiki Shibanumo (Sensation) vs MYSTIC Dragon, VENOM and Yoshii Shiomi (Lightning)

Golden Scorpion and The Awesome Kiyaru (Mystery) vs Shimedzu and Bairei Yasujiro (INSPIRE)

Kinnojo Horri, Sessue Kawate and Sanetomo Shiraishi (Tradition) vs Eiji Hamacho, Chuichi Sanda and Natsu Miyamae (Explosion)

Elemental III (Explosion) vs Hachigoro Maeda (Power)

Black Magic (Power) vs Hiroaki Nakasawa and Marihito Masuko (Bomb Devils)
