Ring of Honor: Going Mainstream

Ring of Honor has been the number three promotion in America for several years now trailing only to TNA and the WWE, over the past few years they have lost superstars like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels and CM Punk to the bigger promotions. They still have great wrestlers and a few potential superstars but ROH's problem is that they have not dived into a mainstream audience and because of this ROH can never be bigger than a regional promotion.

As of now it is near impossible to get ROH on network television which is why they still don't have a t.v show and why they haven't expanded there audience in recent years. Currently they are holding ppv's every 3-4 weeks which has been successful but with the asset of having a t.v show being so much more valuable in TEW 2013 compared to previous games if ROH want to grow and keep their biggest stars they need to make a change...

Who better to take over and lead the third biggest promotion in America than, Paul Heyman. Heyman has been out of work since being fired/quitting WWE (OVW), Cary Silken found himself becoming out of touch with the product and was more than willing to sell up to Heyman and work backstage with ROH.

To clarify this is not ROH turning into the next WWE, the product will remain heavily wrestling but over a number of months/years i am planning to slowly tweak ROH so it can be a mainstream company. The number one focus will be good wrestling and rivalries, the wrestlers hired in the future will still have to fit a certain mold you expect to see in ROH (Don't worry i'm not going to try and find the next John Cena).

As of now the plans are to keep the same schedule until after Final Battle 2008 with ppv's every 3-4 weeks. From looking at the networks list and which ROH would be able to deal with the hope is to have a t.v show in January although it would have to be only a regional network airing in one or two regions. The next step after that is to have a syndicated t.v show one day but that would require slight tweaking of the product.

Some are calling recent moves and announcements by Ring of Honor a huge risk but Paul Heyman is willing to risk it all to make this promotion thrive, the buzz around Ring of Honor is hotter than ever before with people excited to see what's going to come of the Heyman era.

Two young ROH stars will kick of the show in what looks to be a tough contest between Eddie Edwards and Erick Stevens. Two amazing high flyers will square off in the second contest which will then be followed by multiple time tag team champions The Briscoe brothers taking on Delirous and Zack Gowen from The Age of the Fall. Will definitely be following this. ROH had their strongest roster from 07-08 in my opinion.

Great to have you following, agree with you they had a great roster, just hoping i can get the company to a size where i can steal some former ROH stars back from TNA and WWE like Punk, Styles and Joe it could make for some great story lines and matches

Haha again my mistake it was actually suppose to be Evans vs another Japanese high flyer i recently signed, didn't notice i picked the wrong wrestler until after the show was played and the write up was done. Although to be honest Go actually has pretty decent aerial skills.

That and ROH drawing 6,500. Not that that is your fault, that is a mod issue.

I know i was shocked when it came up i could draw 6,000 fans as well, I've checked the mod and the popularity in the area is definitley correct and to be at the level where a ppv would draw 1-2,000 fans like ROH usually do would make the popularity be extremely low. My plan is to hold most PPV's in more realistic arenas with probably 1-3,000 fans and only to use the bigger arenas for big ppv's like Glory by Honor and Final Battle
