I almost posted that last show again. -Someone- forgot to delete it from the Googledoc...

Rayne isn’t happy with losing that title match. Well, he shouldn’t be gone so often. Before he ‘was working somewhere else’ for four shows in a row, I was planning on transitioning to him. Now, I think I’ll keep it for myself a bit longer.

 

Besides, I’ve managed to get Fox Mask to the point where people don’t think of him as one of our main eventers anymore -- so that’s mission accomplished for me. I can reward myself with a longer title run. Our ‘top five’ right now are Cougar, Skye, Rayne, Ota, and P-Dawg, in no particular order. Hrm. I should be up there. Ah, well. In due time.

 

July 2015, week 1

CZCW West Coast Tradition

Case in point: Rayne’s no here tonight, working for USPW. Meanwhile, Goto was supposed to talk with The Guru earlier today but instead blew him off... I casually reminded Goto that ex-Sumo-sized wrestlers aren’t something that would be missed here, and he shouldn’t let it happen again. I think I got through to him.

 

We open the show with an Xtreme Title Match as Monkey defends against CLM and Mobstar. It’s a really good match that ends when, surprise surprise, California Love Machine retrieves the title and becomes the new champion (C+). After that, Jackpot Jordan gets a singles win over Fox Mask (C-), and the The Night Terrors retain their titles over Hollywood and Youngman (D).

 

Kid Toma beats Brad Peverell (C-), Donnie and Waves beat The Perez Boys (D), and Fro Sure defeats Goto (C-). Seriously, Donnie, P-Dwag, freakin’ Goto had a better match than you did.

 

Our pre-main has me retaining the CZCW Title over Frantic Ali in a good match (C ), followed by a contendership match that sees Cougar fall to Skye (C+).

<p>California Love Machine as champion is an interesting choice to me. Hell Monkey puts on good matches, but just can’t gain momentum. CLM has somehow managed to get himself more momentum than anyone on the roster. So we’re going to see if he can run with the title or not.</p><p> </p><p>

Apparently, GSW has tried to set up anti-CZCW signs at their shows. But our fans countered with better signs. We have good fans, what can I say? They also have workers no-showing their shows. Highly unprofessional. On both sides of it.</p><p> </p><p>

(... y’know, I forgot to write down the date and show for this one... and I’m at work, so I can’t go load the game to check... eh, it’ll be okay, nobody reads these posts anyway...)</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, we’ve got several matches that were contenders for our main event slots; let’s see how well we chose. Our opening match is DC Rayne defeating Kid Toma. We were thinking the skills would mesh well here, and, well... it was just sort of sub-par (C-). Our next match is the Night Terrors retaining over Weasel and Monkey... and holy cow, this was far better than we were expecting it to be (C+).</p><p> </p><p>

Our next “Yikes!” of the night is a triple threat match between Fox Mask, Steve Parker, and Frankie Perez. And someone told these boys to steal the show, because that’s exactly what they did. Parker gets the victory, and I make a note to save this match again for a slow card (B-). We get a breather as the Warehouse Brothers (that’s Fro and Ali, for those who don’t remember) defeating Donnie & Simon, and even that is pretty good (C-). The surprise trash of the night comes when CLM defends the Xtreme Title against Brad Peverell, and nobody seems to care -- too burnt out maybe (D)?</p><p> </p><p>

Rich & Famous defeat the thrown-together team of Youngman and Mobstar (D+), and we move into our main events. Cougar defeats Ota in a good match (C+), and then I defend the CZCW Title against Remmy Skye. It’s debatable which match was better, but ours had a title, so I give it to us... altho that triple-threat match is still the ones the fans were talking about (C+).</p><p> </p><p>

On the next Coastal Zone: CLM wants to redeem himself with a good match. We keep mix-and-matching undercarders to see if we can find teams that work. And Fox Mask pins me. Which of these statements is a bold-faced lie? Find out...</p>
