<div style="text-align:center;">USPW Stars, Stripes & Slams</div> <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35213" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Pre-Show: 10-Man Battle Royal: Atlas, Casey Valentine, Elijah Harris, Hollywood Brett Starr, Honest Frank, Land Mass, Phillipe LaGrenier, Steven Parker, Titan, and Travis Century Pre-Show for a reason, but this was a brilliant combination of young and old USPWers fighting out for the right to...something. Haven't decided yet. Atlas and Titan, for obvious reasons, worked together in the early going, getting Casey Valentine and Land Mass out first. Steven Parker then began what would be a remarkable performance, eliminating not just the Gods but also Hollywood Brett Starr and LaGrenier single-handedly. That takes us to the final four: Parker, Century, Harris, and Frank. The two older men (Century being particularly drab as a "Preacher") got knocked out by Honest Frank and Steven Parker (Harris and Travis respectively), before a quick scuffle saw a charging Parker get back dropped over the top rope. Honest Frank wins.</div></blockquote> Nicky Champion and Tyson Baine face off backstage. Peter Valentine can be seen casually leaning in a corner of the room. And then Bruce The Giant crashes through a wall, clotheslines both men, and then bodyslams Valentine on top. Then he leaves. USPW National and USPW Television Title Match: Java© vs. Tribal Warrior© vs. Grunt vs. Stink Java and Tribal Warrior are both on the way out; while they outmatch their opponents, their physical decline is hampering what was once thee most dominant team in the company. Grunt and Stink-particularly the latter-represent the new guard of the company. They aren't young, but they are experienced, and it's that teamwork which lets them level the champions. Grunt does meet the heads of both Samoans (they're Samoan shut up) later in the match, but Stink is able to separate the champions after that and pick up the win for his "team," so to speak. USPW World Tag Team Titles: Natural Storm© vs. The Towers of Power Champions versus challengers. After the last match, it can't be looking too good for Natural Storm. Unfortunately more for them, The Towers have been on a good run recently as the part of the Jumbo Jackson-versus-the company story currently running. True, Danny's in a bit of decline, but Mick is a heavily underrated worker on his own. Mick hit his powerbomb finisher on Rayne after ten minutes, and Rushmore prevented the save by Howard. Peter Valentine vs. The Force I'm going to ignore this match even happened, as Darryl was set to face Peter in the first place. More on that later.Rather, earlier; see the phone call. T-Rex vs. James Justice I expected Justice to give T-Rex a great match; unfortunately, chemistry dragged down this contest. Liberation Slam gives the faces a win at 10 minutes. T-Rex takes out post-match loss frustration on Justice, sending him through a solid door and piledriving him onto some hard linoleum. Bruce The Giant vs. Hardcore Everyman Bruce has stamina issues. Surprisingly, he's not in noticeable physical decline, per se. As has been the case with nearly every Bruce handicap match, he eliminates his competition with little effort. USPW Womens' Championship: Melody© vs. DEVIL Karube vs. Raven Robinson Another match that was tarnished by the lack of my original wrestler. My daughter, obviously. That said, DEVIL Karube has been an invaluable trade from 5Star. Very, very happy for her. Melody retains because Raven isn't going to be the next champion. Eddie Peak and Des Davids vs. James Justice and Chris Caulfield The in-ring debut of Des Davids was quite good here. No chemistry or experience of note, just four top-tier wrestlers fighting for their lives. Well, not top-tier. This match wasn't as good as I expected given everyone's popularity. I'll put it down to the fans not expecting Des out there and Caulfield's lack of popularity. Davids gets the solid win over James with his Quarterback Sack. Eddie Peak vs. Raven Robinson The fact that this did better than the prevoius match is a disgrace. Eddie's a great guy, that I already knew, and Raven's one of the best females we have. But...Justice? Davids? Caulfield?! I'm confused, but it was a remarkable showing of Raven not bending to Peak's will. He had to work as hard as he ever has to get the pin off of her. Nicky Champion enters the arena to a huge applause. Nicky: Alabama, can you make some noise? Pointless question, but it's a quick, cheap pop. Nicky: I've been Champion for awhile now. Aside from in name, which as you know, I've had my whole life. Brief pause for laughter. Nicky: I've held this belt for months, and Tyson's not going to be the one to take it from me. You've gone too far, Baine, and I'm not going to stop until I break you. Another pause as the crowd pops for his confidence. Nicky: What you have next is going to be a match to remember. It's the match where I get back at the man who threw a fireball in my face. It's a match where I finally get what I deserve: resolution. USPW World Championship: Nicky Champion© vs. Tyson Baine Oh. Lack of selling, lack of chemistry. Good thing I had Davids interfere to cost Nicky, or this feud would have tanked. Overall: 74. 25 up, 11 down. Speeches: I gave Bruce a hug, because having been friends with him all these years...it was a rough show for the both of us, I think. James Justice and Chris Caulfield I singled-doubled?-out as two guys who really committed to the company. Double duty, losses in some matches, wins in others. They have the confidence that I'm going to use them and the loyalty to let me use them.

Though at least I'm not SOTBPW with two weekly shows. Although if I had taken them instead of WEXXV I'd have moar shows than evers, yes.

Didn't need to talk about how this was surprisingly good for the ladies, nor how Alicia doesn't like the pace of these things. Cherry Bomb actually called the thing. But yeah, no, delete it. ****ing lag or whatever bull**** this is.</div></blockquote> Hi, I'm Nicky Champion. Pulled an 86 on this promo after I-Eidenhoek-gamed it a bit. Knew I could get that high as the first test run actually was good before I changed up the show a bit. Basically Nicky calls out Tyson and Des. Was there character development? Well...maybe not, but at least it was some character data. But **** that, right compy? I CAN RIP THE MONITOR SO ****ING EASILY OFF THE LAPTOP. DON'T. ****ING. PUSH. ME. Seriously, you're half-broken and I taped your ass up. ****ing try me. The Dream Team vs. Belle Bryden/DEVIL Karube Short-stick version? J-Ro debuted well. 90 gimmick, btw. Faces don't like all out. DEVIL was off tonight. Bryden wins over J-Ro. Tyson Baine destroyed Nicky backstage. Brutal beatdown, and it only cements the fact that the new champion? Oh, he's not going to be taking things easy. Excellent segment. Hardcore Everyman vs. Eddie Peak/Jumbo Jackson Our go-to face team against the two bigger heel threats in the company. Good work. To be fair, both Jackson and Caulfield have a bit of stamina issues. I probably should have made the match a bit longer and told them to work it slow. Oops. Caulfield as ever takes the role of the ring general quite well, taking a lot of the early beating to, hopefully, keep his partner fresh. Unfortunately, the heels are really, really good at what they do. When Datsun drops in at around 10 minutes, Peak's ready to just about decimate him. A blind tag a short time later gives the Jumbo Avalanche another victim as Jackson wins it for his team just over twelve. Remember how I said Jackson was one of our top heels? Well, he doesn't beat Nicky Champion down quite as well as Baine did, but Nicky's got to be hurting fairly badly by now. Nicky Champion vs. Des Davids YES. Positive chemistry. This is why I wanted a third player in the feud; Tyson and Champion can't lock up, but Champion and Davids most certainly can. In fact, they had so much hype and so much fluidity that there were points where...how can I put it... It's like pushing a box, or rolling a boulder up a hill. There's some resistance, right? No matter how strong you are, you feel the weight go against you. Now if that thing suddenly disappears, or gets lighter? You stumble. You did too well, so to speak, and you have to catch yourself. That happened here a bit. I think they went through some sequences too quickly, holds transitioned with little effort, and at times, the match lost its way. Still, fantastic match for the two. Get Des more popular, have Nicky get back to his month-beginning popularity? This is gold. Tyson Baine vs. James Justice Then I follow what should have main evented with something only slightly less good. Both men know their way in the ring. Justice...both men know what to do here. I really have nothing else to say. Lest we see the champion lose in his first non-title match, Jumbo Jackson interferes and puts James away with an Avalanche as the ref is trying to get Baine to back off. NOTBPW Championship Wrestling <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="35213" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Pre-Show: NOTBPW Womens Championship: Tamara McFly© vs. Fuyuko Higa vs. Luchadora Original This was a rather poor match for the fans, but I'll get to that in a moment. Fuyuko Higa presents a bit of a problem for me. Much like Edd-and I'm glad I'm the owner, as there's no way Dan would ever say anything about him-Higa has a terrible attitude. Actually, Higa's worse than Edd. So the fact that she's also immensely talented is...well, that's the problem. I put her in this match much like USPW has been running with DEVIL Karube, actually. Both Japanese women are not over in their respective companies, yet both of them can perform at a high level. The difference is that I actually have Higa under a written contract. This means that I can do some rather intersting things. McFly and Original, the headliners of our women, are in something of a feud with each other. They focused on each other during the match, with Higa playing something of a spoiler in effect. And she did, actually. Victoria Stone-McFly (pick a name, sis) interfered on behalf of Higa, arguing something about...I didn't pick it up. Admittedly, Eric Tyler, Tamara's new manager, wasn't quiet throughout the match. Victoria jabbed Luchadora in the face as she came over. This distracted McFly, and Higa took a flash rollup for the victory. Fuyuko Higa is the new Womens Champion. -Both Tyler and Higa have good gimmicks which was hard to coordinate, btw. -I had to have McFly dominate and Higa win by tainted flash pinfall to keep Tamara happy. -The crowd was displeased with the ending.</div></blockquote> Steve DeColt cut a promo on Sean McFly. Nothing special here; his improvisation was average by my ear. He needs to drop the manager, by the way. And the gimmick. Shooter Sean Deeley, Harrison Hash, Mighty Cavanaugh vs. Omar Brown, Julian Watson, Trent Shaffer Mighty Cavanaugh is the weak link here, but more on that in a moment. Crossover fans from CGC might be confused that Shaffer's playing the heel and Deeley the face in this match; I figure giving them time to work the opposite alignment will only help their future careers. It's a quickfire match, this one, and I think Omar Brown was likely the leader of everyone in the ring. Hash is getting old, Cavanaugh is green, and our CGC trades...are trades. Between Watson and Brown, Brown's much better working a brawling-style match, which multi-man matches tend to favor. Since I wanted this match called on the fly, I had Cavanaugh be involved for very little of the match. True, that hurt its reception, but I just wanted to get a bearing on what everyone was capable of in a hectic fight. Having him be just as used, just as much time in the ring...that would have made things worse. The aged Hash takes the fall, an Anaconda Vice from Brown leading to the submission victory. -Shaffer's got a lot of talent. -Hash, meanwhile, is getting a lot of penalties to all-out type matches. -Omar Brown shouldn't go all out. NOTBPW Television Title: Johnny Bloodstone vs. Tim Westybrook They did better their last match. This was merely "very good," when I half-expected it to do about as well as the main event. 86 on a previous run-through, by the way, this match. Which I hope is not the case after this match. Tim I think is really more of an upper-midcarder at this stage in his career, so I would rather not have him being the focus of too many important matches. He's missing a few key elements to carry his side of the match. Bloodstone also has some holes, but he's that measurable bit better. Give them chemistry, of course, and some very, very nice stuff can happen. This was not to that level, as I've said. Curiously, in any case, the Television title is being fought by an ostensible and bona-fide main eventer. Clearly I've messed up somewhere in my booking, as these guys are both above the title. I can't have Johnny lose, however, as he's still on a wave of momentum. He gets the defense after a Bloodstone Mutilation. -Neither man has a good gimmick. -This quality of match is just above the line of what Lionel Greenwood can follow. Steve DeColt/R.K. Hayes vs. Sean McFly/Valiant Great debut for Valiant; futhermore, both he and Sean called the match brilliantly, allowing the lesser performance skills of the heels to not hamper the action. Hayes has become a bit of an afterthought recently, and I feel that's been a mistake. He's not in physical decline, and while he's not the best wrestler, he can still be used to be a stong opponent or to get someone over. Expect Valiant and him to work agaisnt each other in the near future. As expected, though, the story was champion versus challenger. McFly and DeColt have been fighting for weeks now, and Steve's penchant for bending the rules just about equals the in-rign superiority of Canada's misplaced son. He's from the USA, remember? A Delorean Driver does end the match, but it's Hayes who gets the fall. DeColt skates by once again, but the question is: can he beat the champ? -Valiant is the only one with a good gimmick. Jack Marlowe vs. Duane Stone YES! I gave these two forty minutes, and they didn't disappoint! Well, a little. I was hoping "God Stone" would make a reappearance, but it appears-ha-that his early-January run of exceptional form was a fluke and/or result of his high-caliber opponents. This was below that level. However, it was instead a great match, worthy of main eventing this show easily. I don't think anywhere in the world has had more than one main event this good, actually, which does bother me as I suspect Richard Eisen will soon turn his eye on us as a result. Point is, Duane covered well for any shortcomings Jack had. The entrance turned off the fans, so Duane ignored it. Jack had some issues with stamina late in the match; fine, Duane can work a slow, technical style. Though there wasn't a notable helping of psychology in the match (see the above tag), everything went well. This is a non-PPV main event quality match (and if I don't book well, this isn't a bad main event for a Pay-Per-View, either). Very pleased. -Marlowe's "Savage" gimmick did not go over well. Ernie Turner now works for four companies including my own primary developmental league. The man has really taken off as a colour commentator, and I think that shows that sometimes success requires changing one's assessment of one's abilities. Jack Griffith, to my chagrin, has been hired by TCS toa pay-per-appearance contract. Pee-Wee Germaine is...he's an excellent person, yes, but I think perhaps a bit questionable as an owner/booker.

Speaking of Malice, there are a lot of decisions for me to make. Ricky Dale Johnson does not object to going to development (neither does Rocky, but he clearly could still improve), so I don't know if that's RDJ telling me he still can go or if he's trying to kiss my ass. Do I have him go over at the event? Do I even use him?

Who is going to be Wolf's challenger?

Will Troy Tornado get involved in a storyline, or break off into one of his own? Neither?

Lord James King is back. Him, The Natural, and Owen Love have minor issues. I'm giving the tag team a one week vacation, as I honestly don't have any plans for them right now; Love's a few years past his best, and The Natural...he's...a tag team guy, in my plans.

I sent Steve Flash down to development to work on his skills. I expected him to ask to train the guys down there, but he accepted. Which means...he'll be actively in the ring. That's fantastic.

Hash has also been sent down to improve (officially) and help others (unofficially). That leaves just Love on the roster (in a week) with any sort of decline. I am pleased.

Tim Westybrook is now an Upper Midcarder officially (good), as is Jack Marlowe. I see that he's taken a hit in popularity due to SWF, so I'm working on building him back up. He is one of our better brawlers, after all...
