It is a fictional universe created for TEW from scratch, started at little less than a year ago. [here is the original thread: http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=514769] I decided to update this thread as an overall progress and eventual hype and release thread. If anyone wants to participate with characters, bios or graphics or anything like that, give a shout. Tons of work still left to done here. My goal is to create a complete fictional universe with the current plan being to have around 36 active companies and around 1700+ workers by the time I’d be finished. Now obviously that’s a really long way out, but isn’t well-planned half done? Currently I’m sitting at 370 workers from multiple contributors (including from many from a previous mod of mine that still has some that can be imported if needed). As for the pics, my ambition is of course to have a complete pic pack but that’s amongst the last things I think I’m going to do so most of them are missing pics as of now. What I mean by that is maybe giving short bios for each promotion and maybe showing us the bios of your top workers. That way people can submit workers into your universe that fit your universe. Since Europe is my number one priority to complete first, I'll post it's continent overview first. Europe From the very first days of European "fisticuffs", Europe has truly created an unique wrestling history. The most notable success story is of course ICE (International Championship Entertainment), but it has several flourishing independent promotions as well. The region is booming from wrestling as of the start of 1985. **[establishing year] International Championship Entertainment [september 1953]** (Around 60% done, so that's like 15 free worker slots) Location: Central Europe (Europe) Prestige: 100% Money: $10 000 000 Size: National PPV & TV deals International Championship Entertainment is the largest promotion in the World today, originally launched back in the early 1950's. The brainchild of Belgian Toots Lemaire the "Slam Bang Pastime" was the opposite of the British wrestling, based more on entertainment rather than technical brilliance. After reaching a television deal in 1972 (the first non-British wrestling program), ICE managed to somehow claim the number one position with the leadership of one Kevin Wonderful. The European powerhouse made another record when they were the first to capture a pay-per-view deal and with that it seems as though the whole promotion has blown up. Money, stars and fans roll in the windows more than could be handled and it seems as though ICE can't do no wrong. Previously known for their pure entertainment, lately the promotion has started slowly shifting towards something resembling wrestling again. One Ring Coalition [March 1961]** (Around 1% done, that's like 26 free worker slots..) Location: Mediterranean (Europe) Prestige: 74% Money: $2 500 000 Size: Cult PPV & TV deals The One Ring Coalition was launched in 1961 following European Wrestling Club turning into Golden Entertainment League. ORC became the favourite alternative promoting a healthy mix of wrestling and entertainment. Recently they have become the only promotion in the world capable of competing with ICE in their own market, signified by the fact that they manage to acquire a pay-per-view deal in the end of 1984. Based around the idea of female wrestlers being taken seriously in a time when they were basically not even wrestling, QUEENS quickly achieved a reputation for bringing the finest competition for ladies. With the "old guard" being phased out, a new generation has taken over QUEENS. The headache of several other female promotions popping up has assured that the competition has only increased and the promotion has somewhat been stuck on a rut for a couple of years. What used to be the definite number #2 promotion in the whole Europe has slowly fallen down in the ranks. But now it seems as though a new age similar to the old days has begun, with a roster full of young up and coming wrestlers. Their shows are about fun and fast paced wrestling not to be taken too seriously. Classicly for the promotion there are usually a couple of larger villains amongst the smaller wrestlers. Product: Key feature: Mainstream Heavy: Traditional, Comedy Medium: Modern Low: Lucha Libre Very low: Daredevil 80% Angle Ratio in events.. Out of Oxygen [August 1980]** (5% done, so that's 16 free worker slots..) Location: Mediterranean (Europe) Prestige: 15% Money: $50 000 Size: Small Out of Oxygen (O3) is a promotion purely about wrestling. That stuff you saw in ICE, NEW, SEE.. it doesn't exist in O3. The product means that they have a limited, but solid fan base. Product: Key feature: Realism Heavy: Medium: Traditional, Pure Low: Very low: Modern 90% Angle Ratio in events.. Fennoscandian Association of Wrestling [March 1983]** (5% done, 4 free women's worker slots, 18 free men's) Location: Scandinavia (Europe) Prestige: 20% Money: $50 000 Size: Small Has a Women's Division Another promotion heavily influenced by ICE, the Fennoscandian Association of Wrestling (FAW) was launched in 1983 combining several Fennoscandian rosters in to one "big" federation. They have proven to be surprisingly popular in their home area, with many having seen the potential of the small European promotion. Product: Key feature: Traditional Heavy: Mainstream Medium: Low: Comedy, Cult, Modern, Daredevil, Realism Very low: Risque Eastern Wrestling Society [August 1982]** (0% done, 14 free worker slots..) Location: Eastern Europe (Europe) Prestige: 8% Money: $10 000 Size: Local 'The Comradebot promotion' (that's how I pictured it..) The Eastern Wrestling Society is based out of Eastern Europe. While they are basically unknown, it's the only worth while wrestling promotion in the region. EWS are mostly known for promoting larger wrestlers, like former bodybuilders. Hope no-one minds the thread title I can't change that Character submissions are open if anyone's interested, but I decided to update everyone on the mod's progress. So my December 31st - January 31st goal was to go from 194 workers to 294 workers. I finished January with 334 workers (many of them were imported though). My February 28th target is to go from 334 workers to 434 (you see a pattern here? ) and damnit this month has less days than the previous one.. The other European promotions have all space in them and due to me mostly modding with a "whatever I feel like" mentality, I'd imagine most of them will be finished at around the same time. I haven't done much work on the data on the last two months to be honest.
