Comments on Previous Show: Enjoyed the show, as always. Wondering just who these new bodyguards are for the Kings Of Wrestling. Also wondering if that was Hillbilly Jim that you signed. Maybe a Godwinn family union before the WWF does it? Steve Austin is also really enjoyable to 'watch,' especially now that he has Stevie, err, I mean Richard Stevenson on his side.

For a change, a graphic openly announces that this show was recorded on Wednesday, not being shown live. He says that tonight will be the night when Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat will be awarded his fifteen thousand dollar Battlebowl champion ring! Heenan says he can’t wait to get a good look at that ring, when Tony remarks that “The Weasel” will probably try to pocket it. Tony goes on to talk about our main event tonight; Ron Simmons, who came up just short at Battlebowl against Hollywood Hogan, will take on “The Total Package” Lex Luger, which Jesse says should be an explosive bout. Bobby says he can’t wait to hear from Hogan tonight, to find out what went on at the end of last week’s show. As we hear the opening strains of “Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)” start up, Tony says that there are a lot of things going on tonight, so make sure not to change the channel, fans, as we get right to it!

Rating: C+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/GeneOkerlund.jpg

WCW World Heavyweight champion Hollywood Hogan comes out to meet “Mean” Gene Okerlund at the top of the aisle, and we immediately find why WCW have not run a show in Puerto Rico. As Hogan begins talking, the majority of the crowd tune out, as they can’t understand what he’s saying anyways. This is a running theme throughout the night, as you’ll find out in the rest of the show. Hogan introduces us to two men, his hand-chosen bodyguards! Gene asks what he calls them, and Hogan looks the two men over briefly.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/LilH.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Jeep.jpg

Okerlund remarks how much the one looks like Hogan himself, and Hollywood laughs, telling Gene that no real movie star goes anywhere without a body double! He introduces the man as “Little Hollywood; it’s like Little Chinatown, brother, but better!” The other man Hogan says he has dubbed “The Jeep” because he’s gonna run right over anyone that Hollywood tells him to! Hogan says that these two brothers are his “Hogan’s Heroes” and they are here to make sure those lesser than him, like Ric Flair and Sting and the fans, can’t get close enough to sucker punch him! Hogan says that especially after what happened to “Big Dust” last week, it looks like he made a good decision.

Rating: C-

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWWorldTag.jpg
http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Animal.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Hawk.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/vs.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/MarcusBagwell.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/ThePatriot.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/Belle.jpg

WCW World Tag Team Championships

The Road Warriors vs. Stars ‘n Stripes w/Belle Libritis

Referee: Nick Patrick

On their way to the ring, Hollywood tells the Road Warriors that they’d “better get things done in there, brothers” which gives them a pause to look at one another. Tony talks about the nerve of Hogan, hiring himself two bodyguards, and for the reasons he gave for them. Stars ‘n Stripes try to pump up the crowd, but they don’t really buy what they’re selling as far as the flag-waving goes around here. What the crowd do enjoy is the match itself, as Patriot and Bagwell have worked together enough by now that they are able to know one another and put on a good match together. Their peppy offense is nothing compared to the power of the champions though, but it doesn’t help when the Heavenly Bodies wander down to ringside and start to harass Belle Libritis again. Patriot goes to run them off, but that unfortunately leaves Bagwell to get picked apart by the ravenous dogs before being lifted up and flattened with the Doomsday Device for the successful title defense. Commentary notice a sign in the crowd saying “The Road Warriors fear the Steiners” saying that we’ll find out about that in just a minute.

Winners and STILL WCW World Tag Team champions in 10:20: The Road Warriors

Rating: B-

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Hawk.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Animal.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/GeneOkerlund.jpg

“Mean” Gene again comes to the aisle as Hawk and Animal are on their way up the ramp. Gene asks them about their manager Dusty Rhodes, and Animal says that before Hawk gets into that, he wants to let WCW know that they aren’t satisfied yet! They want more pain! They want more victims! And they want them next week! “Nick can line them up; we’ll knock them all down! Tell ‘em, Hawk!” Hawk then turns the attention to the Steiner Brothers, saying that they must think they got one over on the Road Warriors. He tells them “Listen here, guys; the Road Warriors have been winning titles and breaking bodies since you boys were puttin’ on your first letterman’s jackets.” He tells them that they never needed Dusty; he was just their insurance, the same way they’ve done just fine without Paul too. Hawk says that where the Steiners messed up was that Dusty Rhodes may not be a necessary cog in the wheel, he is their friend, and thus the arm they tried to break will be child’s play compared to what the Warriors do the next time they meet Rick and Scotty in the ring! Before the duo leave, Hawk rips apart a sign that said “The Road Warriors will soon be Steinerized!”

Rating: C-

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RonSimmons.jpg

We go backstage where Ron Simmons joins us. He’s taking a few moments of his time to talk about how he gave it his all at Battlebowl, but Hollywood Hogan got the better of him. He tells Simmons that the KoW are the power around here, and he’s just barely a speed bump on the highway to hell. Macho laughs, saying that he won’t be surprised if Ron never gets a World title match again – he suggests maybe he just go down to losing to Kip for the TV belt? Simmons gets angry at that, screaming in Savage’s face that Ron Simmons deserves the World’s Heavyweight title, and no man is gonna stand in his way of that! Savage screams back, getting in Ron’s face, and says that he’s a man, and he’s standing right here! Security start pouring in before this becomes a brawl, and both men can be heard saying to meet the other at Spring Stampede!

Rating: B-

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/TerryTaylor.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/vs.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WaylonMercy.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/RobertFuller.jpg
Terry Taylor vs. Waylon Mercy w/Col. The ladies man who is not seen much on WCW television – Tony notes that he and Scott Stud work the pre-show a lot – is rocked by that, and it’s Mercy doing all the damage in this one, following up each slam and suplex with a sick smile. A sign in the crowd says “Waylon has no Mercy” and that seems to be the case as he waits until Mark Curtis isn’t watching before hitting a brutal kick below the belt before locking in the sleeperhold. His blood not knowing where to go after that assault, Taylor quickly drops.

Winner in 4:54: Waylon Mercy

Rating: C

We go to a pre-taped vignette now, showing some guys playing basketball in a gym. Steamboat goes on to thank WCW for the chance to be in the Battlebowl this year, and says how with all of the competition that was in the battle royal, he feels honored to have come out the winner, and will be proud to go into Spring Stampede to try his hand again at winning back the World Heavyweight title!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpg

This brings out the champion himself, Hollywood Hogan, in a hurry! Hollywood tells “The Dragon” that he might as well just run back to his family now, because in Toronto at Spring Stampede, Hogan and Vader will make sure that the Kings of Wrestling still have the title in their camp! He stands at the top row of the building, a fan above him being seen with a sign declaring “Ric Flair is a traitor”. Hall has a microphone, and he answers Flair and Anderson with a “Hey, yo.” Flair says that he’s already sick of seeing Hall walk around here with a chip on his shoulder, but Scott tells him that’s just how he is, and “ol’ mang” better just get used to it – as long as there’s money to be made, the name at the top of everyone’s list is Scott Hall. Flair flips out, saying that Hall has crossed lines that most men learned years ago that you don’t step over; men like Dusty, men like Sting, even men like Hogan know that you may attack one of us, but you never go after both! Hall says he doesn’t care about any of them, and as long as their names are at the top of the list, he’ll take them down every time. Arn gets the microphone, and he says that Scott Hall has been a menace in every place he’s been, and apparently this stop in WCW is no different. Anderson calls him a “cheap hired hand” which Hall scoffs at, saying there’s nothing cheap about his pricetag. He tells them that “you ol’ fossils cost the Kings a pretty penny”. Arn says that he’s flattered, but that’s besides the fact. Anderson says that Hall has a lesson in respect that he needs to learn, and says that Spring Stampede is right around the corner.

But Flair grabs the microphone back, practically ripping it from his friend’s hand, to say that he’ll be there to fight Hall! Not wrestle him, not brawl with him, he will fight Hall to the last breath! Arn tries to stop Flair, but Ric says that he’ll be fine, he wants that piece of crap in the ring! Scott laughs, saying that he doesn’t do anything without a payday, and he has no ties to WCW; he works for himself only. Flair says that he’ll do it – he will put up ten thousand dollars of his own money, in order to get Hall into the ring! Scott thinks it over, saying that he made more than that just to beat him down in a back room. But he says that if Ric is that desperate for another beating, then Hall will do it! Anderson tries to talk him out of it, but the match is agreed! Tony dubs it the “ten thousand dollar challenge” as Scott leaves the arena through the crowd again.

Rating: B

A graphic comes up preceding the next match which talks about how next week, there will be a big six-man tag team match between members of the Stud Stable, Terry Gordy and the Armstrong Brothers, against Bob Armstrong, “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton, and US champion Steve Austin!

Rating: D

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BrianJames.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/RobertFuller.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/vs.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BobbyEaton2.jpg
BG Armstrong w/Col. But while that hurt Orndorff's temper – coupled with the “Paula” chants from the audience – it only helped Dustin, as he was free to worry solely about his opponent instead of with his father at ringside. “The Natural” showed here that he is as capable as any other man in WCW, fighting off an attempt at a jumping piledriver with a back body drop, before hitting a running bulldog and dropping a bionic elbow to get the pinfall victory.

Winner in 12:27: Dustin Rhodes

Rating: C-

The match over, “The Natural” gets a microphone from Gary Michael Cappetta. And something that will earn that respect will be when he wins the World Heavyweight title at Spring Stampede! Hogan laughs him off, saying that nobody is taking the title at Spring Stampede, and no disrespect meant but there’s especially no way that “Baby Huey” as he calls Dustin, is going to be the one to take it! Dustin gets upset now, saying that he has held titles in WCW in the past, but it’s gonna be the best trip to Canada ever when he holds the title high and scrapes off that spraypaint! Dustin says that he’s seen who and what Hogan is, and he isn’t afraid of him like others have been. He gets right in the champion’s face and tells him that he isn’t going to back down from him. He says that there is still greatness in his blood, and it’s about time that he lives up to it! These will all be on the home video release.

Rey Mysterio Jr. and Juvented Guerrera defeated The Shooters in 9:17 when Juvi wowed the fans with a 450 splash on Dean Malenko. (C+)

“Nature Boy” Ric Flair, “Enforcer” Arn Anderson, and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan talked with Gary Michael Cappetta in the ring, cutting a promo on Scott Hall and the KoW. Apparently in Puerto Rico a bunch of WCW wrestlers had picked up some passable Spanish. Both Heenan and Flair really did well with improvising with the crowd reactions here. ©

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat defeats Pirata Morgan using a combination flying chop and then a second rope crossbody at 15:36. Steamboat makes a title motion around his waist, signifying that he will have the belt come Spring Stampede! (C+)

Jake “The Snake” Roberts is backstage, and he talks about how it’s been a long few years since he was last in the ring with “The Stinger”, but he has never forgotten how to torture and maim any foe. Tonight, he shows that Sting is no longer the man he and all the fans thought he was. Jake’s improvising skills are legendary. (B)

Tony and Jesse narrate the Tale of the Tape, showing the histories and accomplishments of the Steiner Brothers and La Pareja del Terror, also known as Los Gringos Locos in their full version. (D+)

In the match itself, Eddie Guerrero and Art Barr never really seem to be on the same page, as Art seems to be trying to rile the crowd and the Steiners up but Eddie is more subdued, wrestling a much crisper yet clean style against Rick and Scott. The two argue in the corner, getting into a shoving match that pushes Eddie into a roll-up from Rick for the victory at 13:47. (C+)

The match over, Eddie looks to his longtime best friend and partner-in-crime to try and ease the tension, but Barr slaps him! Art walks off on his own, as Guerrero is left speechless in the ring. (C-)

In the tag team match combining two talents from each company, “not-named-Strike-Force-for-legal-reasons-but-totally-Strike-Force” defeat Psicosis and Sgt. Craig “Pitbull” Pittman when the Sergeant annoys his partner to the point that Psicosis gives him a springboard dropkick, leaving him easy prey for a flying forearm from Tito at 8:23. ©

Martel and Santana stay in the ring, Tito getting a microphone. He thanks WCW and AAA for this chance to make things right with his longtime estranged partner. He says that the experience of working with Rick again has given the two of them a great idea. Martel takes the microphone and says that if the Road Warriors want to keep putting on open challenges for their World Tag Team titles, then next week on WCW Saturday Night, he and Tito will be there to answer it! Hawk and Animal come out and scoff at the two, saying that if they want to start writing up their last will and testaments, they have a week to get it notarized! (D+)

Another Tale of the Tape, this time for US champion Steve Austin and challenger Angel Azteca. Tony pays big attention to Angel’s current reign as Mexican National Tag champion alongside Madonna’s Boyfriend. ©

In a WCW United States Heavyweight Championship match, Steve Austin defeats Angel Azteca with the Stunner at 12:28. (C+)

“The Monster” Vader comes out, Jesse saying that Vader wanted to destroy someone on this show. The challenge was answered by Scott Armstrong, who lasted barely a few minutes before Vader’s brutal offence had rung his bell. A huge Vader Powerbomb later and “The Monster” pinned Scott with one finger at 2:40. (E+)

Vader stands tall in the ring, Sonny Onoo taking pictures on his disposable camera, but a group of “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes, Terry Funk, and Cactus Jack rush the ring, sending Vader packing with punches and a big clothesline! Onoo does what he can to pull Vader away as he swears revenge! (D-)

A video plays showing what has transpired between Sting and Jake “The Snake” Roberts at Battlebowl, along with a few clips of their feud from 1992. (B-)

In a great match that had the crowd sizzling throughout it, Sting defeats Jake Roberts by forcing him to submit in the Scorpion Deathlock at 15:51. (B)

After the match, Lex Luger comes out and sarcastically applauds Sting, who stares on intently. (B-)

The final Tale of the Tape of the evening, this time for Hollywood Hogan and Perro Aguayo. Tony says that Perro hasn’t held a major championship since 1992; will this be his chance to get back in the public spotlight? (B)

In a surprisingly clean defense, Hollywood Hogan retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship over Perro Aguayo. Definitely the best match of the night, Hogan and the aging Perro kept the crowd rocking with each near-fall. Aguayo finally falls to the big boot and legdrop that so many have in the past at 15:45. (A)

Hollywood and Roddy Piper stand in the ring celebrating, threatening to spraypaint the WCW/AAA ring with the KoW insignia, until a group of WCW and AAA wrestlers stand together and hit the ring to chase them away! Perro, Rey Mysterio Jr., Eddie Guerrero, Sting, Dustin Rhodes, and Ricky Steamboat all stand together playing to the crowd to close the show! (B-)

After the show, Eddie Guerrero and then Sting come out and thank the fans for coming. This will be included on the home video release.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWlogo.jpg

Next Hotline in the next few days. WCW Saturday Night full card

For Ricky’s spot in the Four Corners Match!

“Total Package” Lex Luger vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat

Comments: Luger's hot, but there is no way that Steamboat's losing here IMO.

WCW World Tag Team Championship

The Road Warriors vs. Rick Martel & Tito Santana

Comments: Santana's not relevant on this time, so i guess that he's pinned here.

Johnny B. Badd w/Teddy Long vs. Jake “The Snake” Roberts

Comments: Jakey's super hot now, can't see him losing to Marvelous Marc.

The Stud Stable (Terry Gordy and The Armstrong Brothers) w/Col. Robert Parker vs. Steve Austin, Bob Armstrong, & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton

Comments: Eaton is a good wrestler IMO, so him and Austin make up for a good team, and i don't know about Bullet Bob's skills in this timeline, but i go for Austin's team here.

“Guardian Angel” Bubba Rogers vs. “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes

Comments: Gotta keep him strong for the clash with Dusty.

“The Monster” Vader w/Sonny Onoo vs. Jumpin’ Joey Maggs & Mark Starr

Comments: OMFG.

“Gigolo” Jimmy Del Ray vs. Marcus Bagwell w/Belle Libritis

Comments: If built up correctly, Bagwell can make a pretty good playa IMO.

Scott Steiner vs. Sgt. Craig “Pitbull” Pittman

Comments: Sgt. WHO?

Fun Fan Signs (two-sign limit): ''Bodies Jumpin' in the Starrs!''

Rhodes vs. Rhodes: Make It Happen!''

24 hour warning, guys! The show will definitely be up tomorrow, and possibly a Hotline right alongside it! I've been one busy sumbitch the past few days to get this one done on schedule again, and while I'm not back to where I was on it, I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out. But I want to make sure everybody gets their chance at the predictions this week, as it's so close to the end of the Winter Contest!

Dustin takes on another one of his father’s clients while Dusty is currently on the sidelines. Bubba does quite a number on Rhodes in the middle portion of the match, leaning on him in a surfboard stretch that punishes the pectoral muscles of “The Natural”. Dustin fights back quickly though, finally getting the better of his opponent when Rogers tries to charge for him in the corner. Rhodes slips out of the way, causing Bubba’s momentum to slam him hard into the turnbuckles. Solie asks the men for some thoughts as they look forward to heading into Spring Stampede. Steamboat talks about how he and Dustin are primed for the match, as the two now have a great chance of putting an end to the evil of Hogan. Solie questions Dustin about what happens if the two end up against one another again, and Rhodes puts his arm around Ricky while saying that if it comes down to it, then just like at Battlebowl, they will have no problems in going after one another when the goal is the gold. Austin stands up and takes a drink before breathing obnoxiously into Regal’s face, giving him a pained look of disgust. Austin says that he doesn’t give a crap who’s on Nick’s side about anything, because it ain’t gonna happen, son! The champion tells Regal that he is gonna keep holding this here title until he gets tired of it, and then he’ll put it on a shelf and drink some beers around it. Regal replies that he actually just recently came from the commissioner, and says how unfortunate it is that Terry Gordy will not be getting his chance for the US title; as next week in British Columbia, under the view of Her Majesty the Queen, Regal will finally be given a match for the United States Heavyweight championship! Austin looks upon Regal’s smirking face, before telling him that he’s kinda glad the match is set up like it is, because Austin’s been wanting to kick Regal’s pompous ass for a while now! Austin really riles Regal up by telling him that after he drops him with the Stunner, maybe he’ll hitch a ride back to the old country and have a few beers with Her Majesty! Gene asks them blatantly about their pact against Sting, saying that fans all over the world are wondering just what this is all about. Luger says that the last thing the two men care about are the fans all over the world; this is something between the two of them, and “The Stinger”. Luger says that they are out to prove that Sting is no hero as he is right now, and that in proving this, they will help him get back the attitude he used to have. Luger adds that he feels taking Ricky Steamboat’s spot tonight and winning back the World Heavyweight championship will also push toward this goal, as it will force his old friend to focus again. Gene turns to Jake, who he asks why he hand-picked Johnny B. Badd for his opponent tonight. Roberts smiles, saying that while he doesn’t have a long period of time that he’s going to stick around here in WCW right now, he feels it is his duty to help others. He says that Badd has been getting fingers pointed at him for being a traitor as of late, and so he chose him in order to get Johnny into the ring… because only pure evil can judge another’s intentions. Del Ray pulls a match out of Bagwell as best he can though, as Marcus, even after this long in WCW and even with the potential he carries with him, can still be considered fairly green when in a singles situation. Belle gives a special US flag to two fans with signs like “The Buff Studs with the Liberty Belle” and “Stars And Belles!”. Tony says that Tom Prichard and The Patriot were specifically barred from ringside for this match, as next week the two of them will go one-on-one. Belle is allowed at ringside, however, as she is the official manager for Stars ‘n Stripes. Belle ends up playing a big role in this one, though almost unintentionally; after Del Ray hits Bagwell with a standing thrust kick to take him down, he turns his attention to Miss Libritis, dancing for her in the ring. She looks on with disgust in her eyes, before telling Jimmy he needs to turn around – and he does, right into Bagwell hitting a big dropkick on him! Del Ray hits the ropes, groggy, and Marcus is able to hook the leg and hit a Yellow Jacket Suplex to get the win!

Winner in 7:26: Marcus Bagwell

Rating: D+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/CactusJack.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/JesseVentura.jpg

We now head to more of the sit-down interview between Cactus Jack and Jesse “The Body” Ventura, as Jack now talks candidly about “The Monster” Vader. He talks about how Vader put him out of action as of late, but that’s fine; his body has healed, and he should be back in the ring in no time. But some of the things that Vader has done to him in the past still linger on his mind to this day, things like powerbombing Jack onto concrete, and ripping his ear off in Germany. Jesse asks if Jack thinks he can physically defeat Vader, and Cactus says that he honestly doesn’t know – but what he can do, is make sure that he hurts Vader so much that he thinks twice about doing those type of things to another person again.

Rating: B-

Notes: Cactus enjoyed being able to improvise, letting his emotions do his talking.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/TerryGordy.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BrianJames.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BradArmstrong.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/RobertFuller.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/vs.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/SteveAustin2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BobbyEaton2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BobArmstrong.jpg
The Stud Stable vs. Steve Austin, “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton, & “Bullet” Bob Armstrong

Referee: Randy Anderson

This one is barely-controlled chaos from bell to bell. Eaton, Austin, and Armstrong may have nothing in common but hatred for the Stud Stable, but that’s enough of a drawing point that the three are able to get on the same page, despite one fan’s sign saying that “Austin Doesn’t play well with others”. Eaton gets briefly caught in the wrong corner, but when he gets over to the right side, he tags in Armstrong – but Austin enters the ring anyways! The crowd go crazy as Austin and Gordy get into it, throwing punches with wild abandon, Bobby saying this is what it’ll be like in Toronto for the two! Randy Anderson manages to separate them, telling Austin that he’s not the legal man! Until he gets Austin sent out of the ring, Gordy is running the ropes and he demolishes “Bullet Bob” with a vicious lariat! Hawk and Animal weren’t about to step aside for anyone to claim their gold though, and this ended up being an amazingly put together matchup. Tito and Rick gave it their all, utilizing quick tags and fast-paced offense to confuse their larger, slower foes, but once Santana got caught, he was picked apart by the Warriors. Tito kept giving it his all, and finally a desperation flying forearm caught Animal to allow some separation! Tito made the tag, Martel coming in like a house of fire, peppering the burly bikers with quick rights and lefts. As the numbers start getting to him, Tito comes in to make the save! Martel and Santana hit a big double dropkick to send Animal out of the ring, and Tito heads out after him. Martel amazingly hooks on the Quebec crab on Hawk, and it looks as though we may have new champions – but Mark Curtis is back arguing with Roddy Piper! Into the ring comes Bubba Rogers, who hits Rick with a hard clothesline from behind, knocking him out of the hold! Rogers sends him into the ropes and lifts him up, as Hawk comes over and delivers an assisted Bubba Slam! Hawk rolls on top and hooks the leg, and the KoW steal this one!

Winners and still WCW World Tag Team champions in 9:35: The Road Warriors

Rating: B

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RoddyPiper.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/GuardianAngel.jpg

It appears they aren’t done though, as after the bell has sounded and the Road Warriors have left the ring, Piper and Rogers climb into it. Unencumbered by the rules of the match, they are now free to do a number on Martel and Santana freely, as Mark Curtis tries to restore order by having the bell be sounded repeatedly. The KoW don’t listen, however, and the scene ends with Piper spraypainting the KoW insignia on the backs of both men!

Rating: C+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RandySavage.jpg

Backstage, we see “Macho Man” Randy Savage. Badd’s high flying offense was on display, but anytime Jake slowed things down, Badd was left completely at his mercy. Steamboat plays amazing little man for this one, with Luger at his cocky best – at one point even taking time to rip away a sign in the crowd saying “Luger can’t slay “The Dragon”. “The Total Package” beats Ricky down good, throwing him around like a ragdoll, but never can put him away. Too much fight in “The Dragon” for him to go down and give up his chances at the World title. But Luger wants it just as badly, and he continues to lay on the punishment. Lex tries time and again to lock on the Human Torture Rack, but each time Steamboat slips out, usually coming back with a hard chop as a way to get separation. Toward the end of the match, Luger’s chest starts turning red with all the vicious chops that he’s taken. Luger maintains control, however, finally putting Steamboat up into the Rack.

But no! Roberts and Luger hook Sting’s arms around the ropes and start doing serious damage to their prey, before pulling him away. Okerlund takes attention directly to The Queen, saying that he has heard rumors about how she’s been seen after the shows with men who are NOT members of the Kings of Wrestling. He asks her flat-out what her relationship is to the KoW and especially this man, World’s Heavyweight champion Hollywood Hogan. The Queen responds by saying that business is business and pleasure is pleasure, and it is her pleasure to do business with the KoW and Hogan.

Before she can add any more to that explanation, Hollywood takes the focus to himself, talking about Spring Stampede. Hogan says that he’s taken the country of the Maple Leaf by storm in the past, and this month will be no different, as he looks to steamroll both Ricky Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes. Okerlund asks about Vader, to which Hogan makes a motion with his fingers that is the general sign of money. Hollywood says that Vader-dude will know where his bread is buttered, and that bread gets no butter unless he knows where the line is. Hogan says that in the past, he and Vader have had good business, and as the Queen says, business is business; the KoW are prepared to give “The Monster” a blank check in exchange for his cooperation at Spring Stampede. Hollywood tells it as he feels it is: “With Vader behind us, all we have on our plate is the neutered Dragon, and Dusty’s mistake, and what are they gonna do, compared to the power of Hollywood and the Kings of Wrestling, brothers!” Hogan poses for the jeering crowd, as the credit information comes up at the bottom of the screen and we fade out on this week’s WCW Saturday Night!

Rating: B

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWMainEvent-1.jpg
WCW Main Event

Commentary: Gordon Solie, Tony Schiavone, Eric Bischoff

Rating: C

Gordon Solie, Tony Schiavone, and Eric Bischoff talk about the goings-on in WCW. Be sure to tune in on the BBC and The Superstation, this saturday night at 6:05 PM ET, for the hottest wrestling show on the planet!

Option 5: Last week’s Neilson ratings!

WCW Saturday Night was on the rise all around this week, as Ricky Steamboat and Lex Luger brought ratings! TBS saw a jump to 6.38, BBC moved up to 7.24, TV Hokkaido saw a rise to 0.19. DSF fell one minuscule point to 0.29. WCW Main Event also rose to a 0.60! And Raw? They dropped from their ever-so-slight perch back to a 5.15.

Option 6: “The Professor’s” lesson of the week!

Hello wrestling fans, “Professor” Mike Tenay here! Every week, I’ll be bringing you a lesson about someone in World Championship Wrestling! The masked man who assisted Sting this past week was Rey Mysterio Jr., who at 20 years old has had an amazing four year career down in Mexico. I’m not completely at liberty to say, but his helping of Sting could have something to do with Jake Roberts down in AAA spilling over to WCW! Rey was voted 1992’s Young Wrestler of the Year in PWI, and was a Mexican National Welterweight champion at the end of 1992, and how long will it be before he gets gold in WCW? Also, be sure to tune in to WCW Main Event, as I’ll be taking over for Gordon Solie to call a match featuring another masked newcomer, Juventud Guerrera!

Option 7: Mean Gene’s rumor corner!

Where was Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel at the last Saturday Night? I’m sure the KoW have some spin on things, saying he was with Dusty Rhodes or something of the sort, but I’ve heard rumblings that World Championship Wrestling may have something of a power struggle going on behind the scenes!

Option 8: That Show You Aren’t Watching!

Monday Night Who’s taping this week is laughable! Sure, the main event was okay, as Brother Hart did what big brother apparently couldn’t do for so long by defeating Jeff Jarrett consistently; but most are pointing to the Tag Team titles match as being horrible, as the makeshift champs defeating the I’m-sure-so-very-vicious team of Sparky and Typhoon. Seriously guys? We threw you a bone last week and you couldn’t do anything with it?

Option 9: A special gift from the WCW Catalog!

Dial zero after the tone to get a 20% off coupon sent to you for a brand new WCW bullseye logo t-shirt!

WCW Saturday Night full card

Hollywood Hogan & “The Monster” Vader w/The Queen & Sonny Onoo vs. Harlem Heat

Comments:

WCW United States Heavyweight Championship

Steve Austin vs. Lord Steven Regal w/Baron Tomas

Comments:

WCW World Tag Team Championships

The Road Warriors vs. Johnny B.
