Hollywood Hogan vs. Lex Luger

Comments: Shit happens. In my estimation, very unpredictable.

Roddy Piper, Randy Savage, and Scott Hall vs. Cactus Jack, Steve Austin, and Brian Pillman

Comments: Hot Rod turns on the Kings right here, giving the babyfaces a major win.

Ric Flair and Arn Anderson vs. Barry Windham and ??? (NOT a debut)

Comments: Not cleanly, though.

Eddy Guerrero vs. Dustin Rhodes

Comments: Hmmmmm...because yes.

Johnny B. Badd vs. Sting

Comments: Dicky Rude interferes and causes the DQ, taking Badd as his protege and The Badd Girl for a date while Badd smokes some weed.

The Demolishers vs. The Road Warriors

Comments: Because of course.

Waylon Mercy vs. Diamond Dallas Page

Comments: His first PPV match on his return, what else can i say here? Just a feud with the Studs to gain him some wins here.

California Kip vs. Alex Wright

Comments: Honestly i don't see Billy Gunn breaking the ''streak'', as much as i don't hate the guy. Matter of fact, i even like him, but the streak continues.

The Ruthless Roundtable vs. Stars ‘n Stripes vs. The Armstrong Brothers vs. Scott & Steve Armstrong

Comments: It comes down to the two Armstrong teams, and Smothers turns on Steve for the big Brad & Brian win.

Fun Fan Signs:

Tiebreaker Questions:

1. Will the World Heavyweight title match end cleanly? Not a chance in hell.

2. Will anyone turn? Yes. Tracy Smothers will turn heel, and Roddy Piper will turn babyface. Honestly can't see any other ones.

3. Who will lose the fall in the Road Warriors vs. Demolishers match? Animal.

4. Who will make the winning fall in the WCW vs KoW six-man tag? Steve Austin.

5. Ricky Steamboat will be attacked on WCW Saturday Night. Will Ricky Steamboat be able to come back and compete in the tag team match? If much people start saying yes i'll go along i think but as of now my opinion is no.

Bodies are flying around everywhere, especially when Rey and Juvi are in the ring. This one just barely resembles a tag team match, as people are in and out of the ring for a good portion of it. Syxx and Mysterio seem very intent to go after one another, stemming from Syxx’s recent attitude toward the cruiserweights. During the match, Mike Tenay talks about the video that will be airing later, saying that he was afraid for his life, but he got the scoop; saying that it was all about being in the line of duty. That will be later, though; this match comes down to a quick move amongst the chaos, as the Cruiserweight champion, Ultimo Dragon, finds himself the recipient of a lightning fast bridging suplex from Jannetty to give that team a huge victory in the Cruiserweight ranks! Mike Tenay begs the question, with this pinfall over the champion, how soon will “The Rocker” get a title match?

Winners in 8:32: Marty Jannetty, Juventud Guerrera, and Rey Mysterio Jr.

Rating: C-

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/kow.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/GeneOkerlund.jpg

Gene Okerlund is standing by alongside “Hot Rod” Roddy Piper, who is flanked by not only Jimmy Hart but also Bubba Rogers, California Kip, and newcomer Devon King. Piper does all the talking, as Kip preens himself and Rogers spends his time yelling orders at King, who beams at being on television with some of his idols. Okerlund asks first and foremost about Piper’s decree last week about how the Kings of Wrestling are not allowed to interfere in the World title match at Bash at the Beach. Roddy says that is completely correct, Gene-o; he says that while he doesn’t feel that losing the World’s title to Lexy would be a good thing for the KoW, it’s well documented that Hollywood has yet to really prove himself in WCW without their assistance. He talks about Dusty Rhodes, saying that Hogan has started “getting a bit big for his britches” around here, by sending away the Road Warriors to bring in the Demolishers, as that is not what is best for the KoW – “but I’ll gladly eat some crow if they bring the Tag straps to us tonight.” Piper shifts gears, saying that there is no dissention in the Kings of Wrestling, however, and they’re going to prove that when Piper teams up with Randy Savage and “Hired Hand” Scott Hall to put down the Tag champs and Cactus Jack at the Beach, and Kip is going to show he’s the real TV champ tomorrow night as well. Piper says that either way, tomorrow is going to be a banner night for the Kings of Wrestling, and that’s all you need to know.

Rating: C

Notes: Gene improvised well with all these different personalities around him.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/LexLuger.jpg

We head backstage, and “The Total Package” is shown as being in the building! Hogan points out last week, and Randy Savage – a man who has never given up a day in his life – submitting almost instantly in the torture rack! Nick says that he and Piper have spoken on this, and as the supposed “biggest icon in wrestling and movies,” Hogan should have no problems defeating a man like Lex Luger. Paul Orndorff is there as well, and he agrees with Nick, which angers Hogan even more; but Paul simply tells him that the Hogan he used to team with and wrestle against all the time wouldn’t back down, just keep on coming until he wins. Randy Savage agrees, saying that if anyone should have this in the bag, it’s Hollywood, yeah. Hogan thinks about it, and he says that he will be in the ring tonight, and he’s gonna have a talk with “Sly” about a few things! “Mr. Wonderful” asks if Hogan wants him to come along for backup, but Hogan says not to worry – he’s got this, brother.

Rating: B-

Notes: Hollywood did superbly at improvising his own dialogue here, and Savage really enjoyed having that freedom. He asks a passing orderly if they know where he can find the doctor, and he says “Dr. K? He’s around somewhere” before walking off. He asks the woman if she was the one on it, but she doesn’t answer other than saying to follow her. Tenay follows down into a dark, dank room, and she asks for the doctor to come out. She walks over to a table, and a man is there working like a surgeon on a body. He is wearing a red laboratory coat and an oversized pair of goggles that hide part of his face. She gets his attention, but he tells her never to bother him while he’s working again! She introduces Tenay as “the man from WCW” and he says that in that case, he will accept her interruption this time. Tenay asks the man why he sent a video to World Championship Wrestling, and the doctor tells him because WCW is supposed to be where the “big boys” play. He says that after a life in medical work, he has learned a few things… and using the combined power of surgery and science, he has created his own big boys, and WCW is where he will find out if they are good enough or not! Tenay asks him what he means by “created” to which the doctor says that with his own two hands, he has made the ultimate forms of evil! And he will unleash them all into World Championship Wrestling! The Demolishers live up to their name by pulling Pillman to their side of the ring and keeping him there, and when Brian is able to make the tag, the great experience of the face-painted warriors comes into play and they are able to isolate him then as well. The two get cocky, however, and it looks like they want to punctuate the match with the Doomsday Device as Smash heads to the top rope. But just as Ax tries to lift Austin onto his shoulders, the champion spins around and reverses into an irish whip that sends Ax into Smash! Austin makes his way over and tags Pillman back in, and “The Loose Cannon” is all over everyone! The focus is all on their six-man tag team match tomorrow night, as the three team up to face Roddy Piper, Randy Savage, and Scott Hall. Brian jumps around behind everyone, stepping forward just to say one or two things, before laughing and going back to making Tony uncomfortable. Austin and Jack cover most of the talk, as Austin talks about Savage and Piper – calling them two old has-beens who need to be put out of their misery – and Cactus calls Scott Hall a leech, a parasite who has never been tested quite like he will at the hands of Cactus Jack! Brian Pillman steps forward to say that he’s played Savage’s game before, and it was only of his own move that he didn’t come out the winner. He says that maybe next time, we’ll find out who they love more? Owen, to his credit, keeps right up with Steamboat, who Tony notes has “only gotten better with age, unlike some other so-called World champions.” “The Brain” barely inserts himself into this match, instead simply throwing out verbal barbs at Steamboat as the match continues. Owen starts to control the match following a power slam, and from there he shows that he definitely belongs in the Horsemen by working over Steamboat with sharp, crisp maneuvers that target one limb in particular, the left leg. Owen starts getting ready to hook “The Dragon” up in the Indian Deathlock that he used last week, but Ricky is able to pull Hart into a pinning predicament – 1! 2! 3! The shock is all over Owen’s face as the hold is released, and Steamboat has his hand raised!

Winner in 16:12: Ricky Steamboat

Rating: B+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/4h.jpg

Just as the three count is registered, the rest of the Horsemen hit the ring! Steamboat is barely back on his feet before “The Enforcer” is taking him off of them with a hard left punch, and the four men put the boots to Steamboat as Tommy Young tries to get the bell to sound in order to try and restore order. Their main target seems to be Ricky’s leg, just as Owen worked over in the previous match. Bobby Heenan slides a chair into the ring, and as Owen and Anderson hold Steamboat in place, Flair places the chair on top of Ricky’s knee – and Guerrero comes off the top rope with a frog splash onto the chair! “The Dragon” screams in pain, as Anderson coldly stomps on the chair as well, putting the knee and leg in severe anguish, before “The Nature Boy” hooks the figure four leglock on Steamboat! Officials pour out of the back, but the Horsemen hold them off until they decide that enough damage has been done. Tony calls this a sick, twisted plot, as the Four Horsemen continue to terrorize Dustin Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, and Barry Windham. Jesse wonders if Steamboat will be able to participate in the tag team match alongside Windham tomorrow night! The Horsemen are all smiles, Guerrero in particular holding up the four fingers and blatantly mugging for the camera as we go to commercial break.

Rating: C+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Stallone.jpg

Out to the ring comes Hollywood Hogan, all business tonight as he isn’t bothering to play his belt, simply marching down and rolling into the ring. He gets the microphone from Gary Cappetta and wastes no time in saying that he wants Sylvester Stallone, Judge Doom or whatever he’s calling himself nowadays, out here to meet him in this ring, right here, right now! The theme from Judge Dredd begins to play, and the crowd clamor in anticipation as the famed actor steps out of the back! He enters the ring, but he doesn’t seem to be taking this as seriously as Hogan is, asking him “What’s up, Thunderlips?” Hogan calls this “cute” and starts talking about Bash at the Beach, calling Stallone “in over his head” when it comes to officiating a World’s title match. Hollywood tells him that if “Sly” is doing this to get money, Hogan will pay him, to just stay home tomorrow night. If he’s doing it to promote his movie, the best promotion he can get will be the World Heavyweight champion, Hollywood Hogan, will watch the movie when he gets time, and give it a stellar review – and people can take the word of Hollywood Hogan straight to the bank, and the movie will break all the records, brother! Sylvester laughs at him, saying that he isn’t here for money, and he isn’t here just to promote his new movie, Judge Dredd, which is still in theaters. He takes a major jab to Hogan’s ego, however, by saying that as much as Hogan talks about how he’s conquered Hollywood by being a world-class actor, Stallone asks which of his movies after Rocky has Hogan been in that did anything at the box office? Suburban Commando? Mr. Nanny? Sylvester tells Hogan that he doesn’t need his good word about his movie – because this is gonna be the REAL Thunder in Paradise, unlike that show Hogan was on along with his boyfriend Brutus! Stallone also tells Hogan that if he thinks he’s going to get in his way of officiating this match, then the charity bout they had on film will become a real-life happening right in Orlando! Hollywood squares up to Sylvester then, the size difference between the two looking bad for Stallone. Hogan says that if Stallone won’t listen to verbal reason, then maybe he needs to give him a physical reason to stay home! Hogan grabs Stallone by his shirt, but the fiery actor shoves him back, and the two look ready to come to blows!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/LexLuger.jpg

“The Total Package” rushes into the ring! He stands behind Stallone, and with the odds now looking to be two-on-one, Hogan starts backing down… but he throws a punch at Luger! He blocks it, and Lex fires back with a flurry of his own, before sending Hollywood into the ropes, where Luger and Stallone both punch him on the rebound! Hogan starts getting to his feet, but he’s taken right back off of them by a Lex clothesline – he covers Hogan, and Stallone gets down to count the three! Unofficial though it may be, Tony Schiavone calls this a moral victory, as Stallone presents Luger with the World’s Heavyweight title; if this happens in twenty-four hours, the Kings of Wrestling will lose all of their power over WCW! Tony signs off for himself and Jesse “The Body” by telling fans to order Bash at the Beach tomorrow night, only on pay-per-view!

Rating: A

Notes: Both Hogan and Stallone really enjoyed the freedom of improvising their rapport here.

Gimmick and Turn Notes:
There were a lot of notes on this show, just because of the debut of the Dungeon of Doom. It certainly looks that way in the early going, as once Waylon catches Dallas in the corner he lays in a lot of pain on him, though the audience cheer him on with signs in the crowd saying “Feel The BANG!” and “Diamond Cutter Oh Mercy”. Mercy shows none of his namesake, by hammering on Page with a volley of hard punches and chin locks. Page, however, doesn’t go down, even when Waylon tries to put on his sleeper. At one point Mercy even locks in the sleeper, DDP uses his newfound fan support to hit a jawbreaker to break the hold! Page starts really moving, getting a lot of momentum behind him, but Colonel Parker gets up on the apron. Rather than be distracted, Page swings a punch; but when Parker ducks, Page spins around and hits Waylon with a clothesline! Parker is seen motioning to the back then, and out runs the other three members of the Stud Stable! Terry Gordy and the Armstrong Brothers slide into the ring when Page was ready to hit the Diamond Cutter, and Gordy strikes first, hitting DDP with his US title belt! Randy Anderson calls for the bell, as the Stud Stable all get into the attack. Parker even comes in and adds a big punch to Page’s chin, before the Armstrongs hold Page up for Terry to run in with a vicious lariat. Dallas has won the match, but he doesn’t look like much of a winner as he lays on the mat, the Stud Stable standing over him.

Winner in 10:25 by disqualification: Diamond Dallas Page

Rating: B-

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/LexLuger.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/GeneOkerlund.jpg

“Mean” Gene Okerlund is backstage, and he brings in the man who squares off for the World Heavyweight championship tonight, “The Total Package” Lex Luger! Brad and Bagwell don’t stay in the ring long, though, as Marcus tags back out to Scott Armstrong, as Tony says that the elimination nature of this match should ensure that nobody wants to stay in this match for long. Scott and Brad have a match, but Brad takes over with an eye poke before tagging back out to brother BG. He is giving Steve an earful about not choosing him for this match; Steve tries to put his attention to the match, but Tracy pulls him off the apron – Scott now takes his eye off the ball, especially when Smothers slaps Steve across the face! Steve is dumbfounded, and as Scott is yelling at Smothers about it, Earl Clayton slips into the match and rolls him up to send two of the Armstrongs out of this match in a hurry! Colonel Parker applauds on the other side of the ring, and Tracy reaches into the ring to shake hands with BG and Brad, before shaking hands with the Colonel! Steve and Scott are upset, but they can’t do anything as officials tell them they have to leave ringside! There are no other major developments of this match up until Bagwell and Patriot hit the Earl with the suplex/crossbody combo that they’ve dubbed the Rocket’s Red Glare to eliminate the two blue bloods! Now a standard tag team match, the brothers Armstrong and the patriotic duo put on a nice little matchup. Scorpio’s distraction gives the Armstrongs a chance to regroup, and unfortunately for Bagwell, he ends up getting back suplexed by BG! BG hits the ropes and drops a knee onto Marcus’s nose, and as Brad keeps Patriot out of the fray, the pinfall is made! Stallone says that it’s too bad he isn’t sticking around WCW after tonight, because it’s been pretty fun getting to hang out with the stars of the ring. JPL is the one who seems to speak for everyone in saying that he agrees, and if Hollywood ever seems to dislike him, rest assured that WCW will always bring Stallone back – and adds that if Sly ever has a director giving him flack, just tell him that they can just go suck it! Owen says that he may not have a match tonight, but he’s going to go down and sit in on commentary during Ric and Arn’s match, so he can watch them destroy Barry Windham the same way they did to Ricky Steamboat. Anderson simply says “Ask and you shall receive,” speaking in response to all those who kept hounding he and Ric about bringing back the Horsemen. He says that tonight, the Horsemen take on Rhodes and Windham, the chance to put two of their whipping boys to bed for good. Bobby Heenan takes over at the end of the interview, saying that “The Brain” knows how to get things done. He says that the Horsemen have proven that they’re better than the Kings of Wrestling in every way, and now they will kill the KoW indirectly – by making people stop talking about those egomaniacs, and start talking about the real greatest thing going, the Four Horsemen. Commentary talk about how Guerrero has the definite speed advantage while Rhodes has the height and power advantages, but Ventura points out that he was talking to “The Brain” earlier, and Guerrero has a few more years of experience over Dustin, as well as having “The Brain” in his corner instead of just a broken down Magnum. Eddy makes an incredible showing for himself here, leaning on “The Natural” for a good part of this contest. He makes a huge splash, pun fully intended, when he has Rhodes lying on the mat near the ropes, and leaps over the top to deliver a flipping senton, which provides a very close near-fall. The action really picks up right at the end of the match, as Dustin begins making his big comeback with a flurry of punches before hitting an “American Dream” style Bionic Elbow to the Horseman’s forehead! Rhodes goes for his bulldog headlock, but Eddy is able to shove him off before snapping off (pun intended again) a beautiful snap suplex! Eddy goes to the top rope, holding up the sign of the Horsemen, before going for the Frog Splash – but Dustin moves, but Guerrero rolls out to his feet, and in the ensuing charge at one another, Rhodes goes low; he twists around Eddy’s leg and ends up in a pinning predictament! Rhodes’s weight advantage proves to be the deciding factor after all, as Guerrero is unable to push Dustin off before the three! But with how literally stomping mad Bobby and Eddy are as the bell sounds, Ventura says that even though Dustin just won the first little skirmish, this war appears to be a long way from over.

Winner in 14:19: Dustin Rhodes

Rating: B

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWTV.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWTV2.jpg
http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/AlexWright.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/vs.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Kip.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/JimmyHart2.jpg

WCW World Television Championship

“Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright vs. California Kip w/Jimmy Hart

Time Limit: 20:00

Referee: Charles Robinson

The bell hasn’t even sounded yet and California Kip rushes in and attacks Wright. Kip takes the advantage of most of this match, utilizing a combination of high impact strikes to keep the youngster down on the mat. He makes several near-falls, as Alex fights up from underneath at every turn. Alex spins out of Kip’s Silicon Valley Slam finisher, and hits a big dropkick that has the KoW member on the ropes, cradling him in a small package, but that only gets a near-fall as well. Tony talks about how this is what WCW’s TV title is all about, people trying to win the match as aggressively and as fast as they can in order to beat the reduced time limit. Kip regains the edge with a jab to Wright’s eye, before sending him into the corner. He charges in, making a huge leap as if going for his own version of the Stinger Splash – but Alex gets out of the way, making Kip smack his head violently against the ringpost! That theme runs all the way through this one, as even when it breaks into the standard tag team match that it is meant to be, everyone throws wild punches at their hated foes as hard as they can. Jimmy on the outside is the reason that Smash is finally able to get ahead of Hawk, as Hart runs the distraction, causing the emotionally charged Warrior to chase him outside the ring and right into a brutal clothesline! Ax and Smash lay an incredible beating on Hawk, at one point standing him in place and both of them slamming him with double axe handles to the back, before sticking their tongues out toward Animal. Smash moves in with the only semi-technical maneuver of the match, hooking a side headlock while Hawk is on the mat. It turns out to not be the best idea, as Hawk comes up and hits a back suplex! The two make their way to their corners, tagging in Ax and Animal – and Animal lays both of their foes out with a series of clotheslines and body slams! Ax and Smash work together to incapacitate Animal by reversing a double clothesline with a double kick to Animal’s midsection, before hitting a double team suplex on him. Smash then climbs to the top, and Ax sets Animal up – they’re looking for Demolishing Decapitation! Smash leaps for the elbow; but he’s caught by Hawk, and drilled to the mat with a powerslam! As Smash rolls to the floor in pain, Ax is cornered by both members of the Road Warriors! They take their time on him, slamming him around at ease until Animal lifts him up on his shoulders! Once the two lock up, something special seems to happen; all the fog that has been surrounding Badd for a long while now, the lackluster matches he’s had for pretty much all of this past year, it all washes away. What we are left with is Johnny B. Badd, not the character but the wrestler, having what is possibly the match of his life against one of WCW’s best, finest athletes. The two work hard, and no lie, put on the best match of the entire night. Maybe it was because Johnny caught wind that he was not going to be re-signed by WCW when his contract ran out? If that was his plan, then things have just changed. This performance has literally saved his WCW career. Badd takes over in the middle portion of the match, and he utilizes a combination of his high flying arsenal along with several boxing strikes in order to keep “The Stinger” down. His main point of attack is Sting’s head and neck, Jesse saying that the concussion Sting is said to have cannot be fully gone yet, and Badd is definitely setting up for that big knockout punch. Tony says that we’ve seen Sting – and everyone else who gets hit with it – drop from Badd’s punch, and if he hits it here, it’ll no doubt be a victory for Johnny. Sting is able to keep his wits about him, though, and when Badd hooks in an abdominal stretch, Sting keeps trying to fight back against it. Johnny, however, uses the ropes for additional leverage, always releasing them when Mark Curtis comes around to check for foul play. Badd even makes use of his ringside attendant – which is a lot better name than Schiavone calls her – for a little bit of added support, as well. But Curtis finally catches Badd in the act, and when he kicks Johnny’s hand off the ropes, Sting hits a big hiptoss that sends Badd careening onto the mat! Sting follows up with a serious of punches and clotheslines, before hitting a jumping facebuster! Sting goes for a cover, but only gets two. Sting sets Badd up, sending him into the corner, and he launches himself into the Stinger Splash – but Badd hits the left hook! Sting drops to the mat, and Johnny falls on top for the cover!

1!!

2!!!!!

3!!!!!!!!!!

NO! Mark Curtis makes the count, but he immediately informs Badd that Sting’s foot was on the bottom rope! Badd shoves Curtis, who shoves him back – and Sting gets a rollup! The crowd counts along – 1!

2!!!!!

No!!! Badd kicks out just in time!

The match continues, as both men go for a clothesline and take one another out! Mark Curtis begins laying in the ten count, as Badd and Sting both try to pull themselves to their feet. Jesse wonders how groggy Sting will be after taking the knockout blow and getting lucky enough to land under the ropes. Johnny charges, and with a kneelift he sends Sting into the corner. He lifts Sting up onto the top rope, and he looks to be going for the Badd Day frankensteiner! Johnny gets up onto the turnbuckle into position, and he leaps, catching Sting’s head between his legs – but Sting counters into a makeshift powerbomb! Sting lands on his feet, and he spins Badd around into the center of the ring before locking on the Scorpion Deathlock! Sting sits down on it, and as he begins to pull back, Johnny screams in agony! He tries to reach back and grab Sting’s leg to attempt to break the hold, but there is no such luck – Badd is forced to submit!

Winner in 16:29: Sting

Rating: B+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RickRude.jpg

The sound of Van Halen rather than Metallica following the match means it’s time for Rick Rude! He walks down to the ring as Johnny B. Badd and his Badd Girl leave – Rude blowing a kiss to her, causing a slight blush to form on her cheeks. Rude has his black baseball bat in one hand, and a microphone in the other. He enters the ring as Sting is getting a microphone of his own, but Rude slaps it out of his hand! Rick says that this is the time for Sting to listen, not to talk. He tells Sting that he just personally cheered backstage when Sting had his hand raised, because for once, he almost showed that drive that he used to have. For once, he looked like the Sting he knew before; the Sting who faced Rude inside WarGames, the Sting who was so ruthless that he broke Rude’s back in order to try and win a title. He tells Sting that he has gone soft, and that’s why the KoW have amassed the power that they have. Rude reminds Sting that he and the Alliance only lived for just a few months before Sting stopped their momentum and caused the group to die a miserable, limping death. He says that Sting has not done the same thing with Hogan and his cronies, and that just makes Rude’s blood boil because if there’s anyone in wrestling who he despises and has despised ever since he first set eyes on him, it’s Hogan! Rude reveals that the second he set foot in WCW this time around, Nick Bockwinkel was ringing his phone off the hook to try and get him to join the KoW, but Rick has his standards – instead, he wants to see them torn down, but because of his back, he physically cannot do it. “And that’s why WCW needs Sting,” he says; “they need their franchise player to take the fight to them! Not just for WCW, but for wrestling in general! I don’t like you, and I never will. But people like Hogan, Piper, and Savage cannot run unchecked like this. Do you really think Lex will do it? He couldn’t even beat you without my help!” Rude shows the baseball bat, adding that “No, Sting, I’m not going to hit you. Instead, I want you to show me what you’ve learned.” Rude throws the bat down at Sting’s feet, and turns his back, saying that he will gladly admit that ever since February, he has personally made Sting’s life hell. Bringing in Lex Luger, bringing in Jake Roberts, it was all leading up to this moment, when Sting determines whether he wants to be the smiling good guy who can’t catch a break, or be the merciless warrior that WCW needs. Some fans are chanting to “hit him, hit him” and Sting actually picks the weapon up from the mat. He looks at it, and he seems to be contemplating it… when Rude says that if he can’t do it to Rude’s back, then how about his face? Rick turns around and gets right into Sting’s face, staring down into his eyes, and leaves himself wide open.

Sting looks at Rude, at the man who has made him miserable for months…

And he slides out of the ring, heading up the aisle. Some fans boo a little, having wanted to see Rude get a taste of his own medicine, and Rude just shakes his head. He says that maybe he was wrong about what WCW needs after all, but when Sting turns around and looks at him from the top of the ramp, Rude takes a good look. He tells Sting simply to think about the past year of his life, and take a good, long look at where he’s at – and he’ll get his answers. Sting says nothing, and he leaves the arena… still carrying around the black baseball bat.

Rating: B-

Notes: Rude did a masterful job of improvising his own dialogue here, but the fans were just a little too caught up in the moment after that incredible match.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/BarryWindham.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/GeneOkerlund.jpg

“Mean” Gene is backstage, bringing in “The Blackjack” Barry Windham. At least that answers the question of a fan in the crowd who’s sign asks “Where’s The King of Harts????” Barry starts the match against Ric Flair, and Barry takes over with some fierce punches and chops. He seems to almost be trying to take the fight to his opponents as aggressively as he possibly can, to make up for how his game plan changed when his original partner, Ricky Steamboat, was forced out of the match due to injuries caused last night on WCW Saturday Night. Flair makes a break for it, tagging in Anderson, and “Double A” is able to take advantage when Flair hits Barry in the back while he ran the ropes. The Horsemen take Windham apart in their corner, Heenan even getting a dig in by punching Barry as his head was laying down over the bottom rope! Owen explains on commentary the reason he is in the Four Horsemen, as he talks about how in that “other company” he was last seen in, he knew that as long as good wrestlers weren’t being given chances to show their skills, he would never be given the respect he deserved. He says that Bobby Heenan got in touch with him when his contract was expiring, and the chance to be one of the elite in wrestling was exactly what he was dreaming of. Back in the ring, Flair is aiming to finish off Windham by heading up to the top turnbuckle – but Barry gets up and catches him, throwing him down hard to the ring! Windham stands up and staggers; and when he does, Roma tags himself in! Flair also tags in Arn, and as Nick Patrick sends Barry out of the ring, Paul charges – and Anderson takes him over in a spinebuster! Anderson shakes his head, before covering the decimated “Playmaker” for the 1, the 2, and the 3.

Winners in 11:49: Ric Flair & Arn Anderson

Rating: B

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Stallone.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Vader.jpg

Sylvester Stallone is backstage again, but this time he’s visibly upset! Whereas this one would appear to be a great chaotic mess, all six men actually keep this one as a serious encounter. Hall and Austin begin the match, Scott throwing his ever-present toothpick in the direction of his adversary and getting a double bird in reply. Austin takes an initial advantage from the collar-and-elbow-tie-up, but that advantage is sealed when Brian springboards off the top and comes from out of nowhere with an Air Pillman that puts Hall flat on his back within the first minute of the match! Piper and Savage rush the ring, but so does Cactus, and when the odds aren’t in their favor, the KoW members voluntarily exit the ring – pulling the limp Hall with them! The crowd cheer wildly, which enrages Savage so much that the crazed “Macho Man” rushes back into the ring – and gets a Stunner for his troubles! Piper is pulling him out of the ring as well, and he starts trying to slap his companions’ faces to get them to wake back up for the rest of the match! “Hot Rod” finally gets a nearby pitcher of water that he dumps on the two, and they are instantly back into this, and as Jesse says a colleague of his once claimed, this place is going bananas!

Piper gets into the ring now against Austin, and he begins directing traffic by turning Austin around toward the KoW corner, allowing himself to be pushed into the turnbuckle so that the lockup has to be broken. While Tommy Young is doing so, Piper pokes Austin in the eye, before hitting a knee lift to his stomach to put himself in the driver’s seat of the match. Tony talks about why this is one of the reasons Piper is no less a leader in the Kings of Wrestling than Hollywood Hogan is, as he begins acting like a commander and ordering Savage and Hall in this matchup. The KoW take over on the Tag champion, Hall now able to come in and paintbrush Austin across the face several times. The telling tale of this match is the leadership of Roddy, as even when Austin is able to make it over and tag out to either of his teammates, the match eventually swings back to the KoW’s side thanks to the direction of Piper. He steers the insane Savage and opportunistic Hall into successes, and even when he finds himself in trouble, it’s not long until he’s wriggled his way out of it again by tagging out.

He gets his comeuppance, though, as he locks in the sleeperhold on Cactus Jack. Jesse is the first to mention that he’s not sure you can put Cactus to sleep like this – and he turns out to be correct, as Jack rushes the turnbuckles and forces Piper to break the hold by slamming his own body into the middle pad, thus hitting Piper on the top turnbuckle! Piper starts to shake it off, when Jack catches him with a big clothesline that puts both men out of the ring! Now the ring fills up again, as Savage, Hall, and the World Tag Team champions all hit the ring while Tommy Young loses complete control. Somewhere in the process, Piper does make a legal tag to Savage; and then all six men are in the ring. Tommy finally starts disposing of people, getting it down to the two legal men, Savage and Cactus. Ventura quips that these two barely have a half a brain between them and even less common sense, as they go toe-to-toe with wild punches that neither man backs down from. But a quarter of a brain gets scrambled, as the two tangle near the ropes, and Brian Pillman decides he’s had enough of this by bashing Savage with a large pencil that he pulled from under the ring! Tommy Young saw the whole thing, and it is to most people’s chagrin that he calls for the bell, awarding the match to the representatives of the Kings of Wrestling. Tony begs the question, why did Brian do that?

Winners in 16:59 by disqualification: Scott Hall, Randy Savage, and Roddy Piper

Rating: B+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/TonySchiavone.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/JesseVentura.jpg

After that grueling matchup, we head over to Tony and Jesse for a quick wrap up before our main event. They talk about some of the similarities of champion Hollywood Hogan and challenger Lex Luger, talking about how during his title reign, Hogan has always been the bigger, stronger man in the ring – but that will not be an edge he holds over “The Total Package” whatsoever. Jesse says that the only advantage Hogan would have – the champion’s advantage of “they have to beat you” – may be negated due to the special referee, Sylvester Stallone. Tony says that the time to talk is over, and now let’s head down to the ring for our main event! As we’re going around the arena, we see a sign in the crowd that says “KOW is the LAW!”

Rating: C+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWWorldKoW.jpg
http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/Queen.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/vs.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/LexLuger.jpg

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Stallone.jpg

WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Hollywood Hogan w/The Queen vs. “The Total Package” Lex Luger

Time Limit: 60:00

Special Guest Referee: “Judge Dredd” Sylvester Stallone

Sylvester Stallone’s referee’s shirt is black and red, much like the colors he wears in his new movie, Judge Dredd, says Tony Schiavone. Stallone does point and laugh at a sign in the crowd that says “Stop! Or my mom will shoot!” From the opening bell, for a change, Hogan is unable to gain an advantage; when he flexes his muscles, “The Total Package” flexes back, and as the muscles pop on Luger’s arms and chest, Hollywood actually loses his edge! When the two lock up, whereas Hogan is usually the stronger, more aggressive person in the tie-up, it’s Luger who shoves Hogan away, before posing again to cheers from the crowd! Hollywood’s veteran wiles put him in charge in a headlock, but Lex is able to effortlessly shove Hogan off, before hitting a standing shoulderblock that puts the champion flat on his back! Hogan tries to regroup his confidence by shoving Luger, but Lex doesn’t budge – instead shoving Hogan down to the mat again! Hogan slaps the mat and rolls to the opposite end of the ring, trying to collect himself.

Hollywood regains his confidence by walking around the ring, stalling a bit, before turning Luger into a top wristlock. He breaks the hold himself to club Lex over the back with a hard forearm, before lifting him into a high body slam. Hogan poses again now, as Luger gets back to his feet. When the two big, strong bulls lock up again, Hollywood knees Luger in the stomach, before raking his back with his fingernails! Hogan shoves Luger into the corner and starts hitting a rapid succession of knees to his chiseled abs, as Sylvester Stallone tries to break it up. Tony immediately says that Stallone is doing a good job as the official here, but Jesse wonders if he won’t be on the KoW’s side by the end of this like that hack of a movie star around here last year was. Hollywood continues the assault on Luger by putting him on the mat and applying a front face lock, essentially slowing the match to a crawl. Tony says that this favors Hogan, as Luger is very adrenaline-based in his matches, and if Hogan can wear that down, he has the full advantage and possibly even has the match won. Luger flops around, but Stallone checks to be sure it is not a chokehold. Luger powers his way up to his feet, and he shoves Hogan back into the turnbuckle, and hits a few shoulder thrusts into Hogan’s midsection. Lex breaks off to run the ropes, but comes right into a desperate Hogan clothesline that puts him right back down on the mat. Hollywood goes for a pin, but only a two count.

Hollywood kicks and stomps at Luger, wearing him down before shoving him out of the ring. Hogan follows right after him, picking up a camera cord and wrapping it around Lex’s throat to choke him! Hogan throws him down, and hurls Luger headfirst into the guardrail, sliding back into the ring only to ignore a tongue-lashing from the guest official. Lex gets to his feet and tries to re-enter the ring, but he’s slapped by The Queen! She backs off immediately after, as the iconic champion comes over and reaches through the ropes. He pulls “The Total Package” up onto the apron, and sets him up – but Luger blocks whatever Hogan was trying for, and shoulder blocks him in the waist, before jumping over the top for a sunset flip! Tony says that he doesn’t know when Luger has ever done that! Stallone gets down to count, 1!

2!!!

3-ALMOST! Hogan barely kicks out of the hold, which clearly took him by surprise. Luger follows it up by hitting a few open-handed punches, kicking the champion in the stomach before hitting the ropes and landing a knee lift! Luger gets another near-fall, but he doesn’t put Hogan away with that either. Jesse commends Luger for not folding, but says that it’s ridiculous to think that a sunset flip or a knee lift will keep the man down for a three. Hogan is back up, and Lex runs the ropes for a clothesline. Hogan ducks to the mat though, and Queen trips Luger when he hits the other side ropes! But Stallone saw it! He yells at her, and tells her to leave ringside! Hollywood is all by his lonesome out there now!

Hollywood picks up the aggression though, and he slams an elbow down onto Luger’s neck before applying a rear chinlock. When Luger fights his way back up, he hits three elbows into Hogan’s stomach, before hitting the ropes – but the KoW leader is waiting for him, and he applies a sleeper! Luger, however, doesn’t let him sink it in deep enough, and he makes it to the ropes. Frustrated, Hogan clubs him on the back, before sending him into the turnbuckle, following in with a running clothesline! Luger is dazed, and Hogan takes his time in placing Lex’s muscular arms around the ropes, opening his chest wide for an overhand chop! The slap of Hogan’s black glove hitting Luger’s chest echoes throughout the arena, and it must have sounded good to Hollywood as well because he shoves Luger’s face back in order to hit another one, and then another one! Hogan steps away to threaten Stallone, though some signs appear out among the masses claiming “The King Fears Judge Dredd” and “Thunderlips Fears Rocky”, and when he comes back, the crowd comes alive as Lex Luger has come out of the turnbuckle! He’s staring Hogan down, feeling no pain! Hogan punches Lex, but he flexes in response! Every muscle of Luger ripples, as he begins kicking and assaulting Hogan back into the turnbuckle on the other side. He fires Hogan off to the other side of the ring, and comes in with his own running clothesline! He stands up on the second rope and yells to the crowd, and they count along as he punches Hogan in the forehead! At ten, he jumps down, and heaves the champion around in a powerslam! He stays on top – 1! …………………… 2!!!

NO! Hogan manages to kick out yet again, but now he’s hurt, and Luger is running full steam ahead! He sends Hogan into the ropes again, but Hogan is able to catch him instead of the back body drop. Hogan instead sends Luger to the ropes, but Luger ducks under the big boot, and kicks Hollywood in the stomach, before lifting him up to hit a piledriver! Tony screams that this is the move that won Lex Luger the World’s championship in 1991! Hogan convulses on the mat as Luger crawls over to make the cover!!!!!! Tony and the crowd actively count along!

ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THRE-NO!!

At the very last second, Hollywood Hogan gets his left shoulder up and saves his title! “The Body” makes a remark about how no world class athlete wins a title with a piledriver anymore, as Tony tries to catch his breath – but he doesn’t get a chance, as Luger is up and pumped! He pulls Hogan to his feet, before hitting the ropes and laying him back out with a clothesline! After another one, Luger turns to the crowd and begins signaling for the Torture Rack!

http://capricorncity.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Hulk-Hogan-vs-Lex-Luger.jpg

HE HAS HIM UP!!!

Hollywood Hogan has no defense for the Human Torture Rack! Sylvester Stallone is right next to him, as Luger jumps up and down to apply more and more pressure – but Hogan’s free arm somehow manages to rake Stallone’s eyes! The “Judge” is blinded, and he falls to the mat. But Tony and Jesse can plainly see, as can the entire crowd and all those watching on pay-per-view, that Hollywood is shaking his head that he submits! We are only waiting for our special Judge referee to stand up and turn around to see it as well!!

Until a massive hand reaches in from off-screen and grabs Luger around the throat.

As the fans are all in awe, Luger is forced to drop Hollywood, and he gets heaved up and drilled to the mat with a vicious chokeslam! Tony and Jesse don’t know what to say, Tony only saying that this man, this monstrous man, he’s some kind of giant!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/Giant.jpg

He grabs Hogan’s arm and pulls it over Luger’s chest, and then steps over the top rope to the floor, marching out of the arena as Stallone gets his bearings back… and he counts the academic three count.

The show ends with Hollywood Hogan still champion, but not even conscious enough to stand up and celebrate – but does this mean that Roddy Piper was a liar, or that Hogan defied the rest of the Kings of Wrestling?

Winner in 15:39 and still WCW World champion: Hollywood Hogan

Rating: B

Note: This match was not only hampered by a burned out crowd, but also a lack of selling by Hogan and Luger.

Gimmick and Turn Notes
Sgt.
