I have been doing this job now for two years, 2 months, and have singlehandedly brought XCC to a whole new level, as well as bringing the very best action to our fans in the process! We run a tournament based format, with the winner, earning a championship bout against their weightclass’ reigning king. We sport 10 weight divisions, the most out of any promotion in MMA today.

XCC: The Contender Season 11 matchup breakdowns

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/s11hwt_zpsc8824be1.png

HW SF -- “The Big Bad” Hassan Fezzik (32-0) vs. Gyokusho “Fujizilla” Fujimoto (13-3)

The #1 P4P fighter in the entire world, undefeated Turk, Hassan Fezzik returns for his 3rd bout for XCC, coming off wins over Norbert Vinkus and in the QF he defeated Junior Patinkin via 3rd round Guillotine. He looks to conquer the land with the best fighters in the entire world. Fellow Japanese import Gyokusho Fujimoto, is 4-1 in his fights in America, coming off 3 wins over Rav Kapur, Antonio Santos, and Sly Twinge, all finishes. He looks to shock the world and win here tonight and eventually the HW title.

HW SF -- “The Bad Element” Curt Kitson (17-1) vs. Ozzy Bintley (9-2)

This matchup is a dream for those who follow XCC extensively! Curt Kitson is a former HW champion, looking for his second tournament champonship.Coming off wins over nearly 400 lbs. Clarence Gibson and Fritz Phipps, and holding wins over Aleks Ivanov and Tim Boyer, he’s shown he can take the likes of those much bigger than him. His opponent Ozzy Bintley has had all but 1 of his pro bouts in XCC, holding a notable win over former tourny finalist Mugur Boc in merely 26 seconds. He hasn’t truly been tested against the cream of the crop so he intends to prove himself tonight.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/s11flwt_zps3da3a465.png

FlW SF -- “The Peragon of Virtue" Fernando Peragon (15-5) vs. “Snake Eyes” Pim Pim Gwon (5-3)

Fernando Peragon has got to be frustrated by now. Having been to the finals of a tournament 2 times already and never having gotten the shot due to the likes of Alessio de Luca and Oleg Tariverdiev. This “Striking Spaniard” looks to taste his first gold inside the XCC cage. Pim Pim Gwon has floated under the radar, waiting patiently in XCC. Having gone 0-2 in 2 QF bouts, Gwon won over debuting Riley Fitzgerald and was awarded with one last shot in a tournament, which he took the best of. Gwon defeated Marinho Gomes with a decision, cementing a semi-final berth. Can he prove he belongs here in XCC?

FlW SF -- “The Horror” Alessio de Luca (11-3) vs. “Flaming Fury” Gene Oakley (5-3)

Alessio de Luca is the only man in XCC to have fought for a title twice against the same man, the bad thing is, he lost both time. After winning his first tournament, he lost a highly controversial split decision to then champion Jason Dalglish, he was given a rematch, and was doing well until the champion caught him in a guillotine forcing the tap. He has since returned with a win over Brazilian striker Paulo Bezerra. His opponent, Gene Oakley fought at the very first XCC event, going 0-3 with the promotion before being released. He then won 2 fights on the local scene and was rehired due to the lack of talent in the Flyweight division. He has since gone 2-0 inside the XCC cage, getting a KO win over rookie Ryo Tagawa and UD over Richie Stiller.

FW S13 qualifier -- Norberto (28-5) vs. Wallace “All Night Long” Everett (9-1)

Norberto is 1-0 in his XCC career coming off of a UD over Jake Walken. He is the #4 FW in the world, he has not yet entered into a tournament. Wallace Everett however, is coming off a tournament run that ended in the finals after a KO loss to former champion Lamont Banner. If Everett can keep this on the feet, he will certainly be looking for the knockout to get his chance at another tournament bout.

MW bout -- “Robocop” Pat Flanagan (8-6) vs. Ram “Jam” Phookan (12-5)

Detroit bred Pat Flanagan is a veteran of XCC since I took over and has had every one of his pro fights here. His lack of ground game has cost him a tournament championship at WW, he now resides at his natural weight of 185 pounds simply used as a firestarter, to open shows up with a bang. He comes off a loss in the MW SF against Jens Halle in an excellent bout. His opponent is Englishmen Ram “Jam” Phookan, who is 1-1 in XCC coming off a win over Russell McPhee via KO in R1. A perfect boxing matchup with two guys known to perform, who will come out conscious?!

MW bout -- “Robocop” Pat Flanagan (8-6) vs. Ram “Jam” Phookan (12-5)

As expected, the two boxers decide to stand and bang. The crowd chants “USA!” after Flanagan scores a knockdown a few minutes in. He immediately attempts to get mount and to get a submission showing evolution to his former self. Flanagan remained on top and pounded out Phookan to get his 9th win inside the XCC.

Official decision -- Pat Flanagan (9-6 XCC) wins via TKO 6:26 Round 1.

Fight Analysis - Glad to see Flanagan continuing to do what he does best. Hopefully if he gets high enough rep a gym will take him in and he will evolve.

FW S13 qualifier -- Norberto (28-5) vs. Wallace “All Night Long” Everett (9-1)

Round 1

Norberto races out looking for the shot immediately. Everett shows good footwork to avoid it. Norberto shoots again and get clocked with a counter right and he goes down! Everett surprisingly follows the BJJ expert to the ground. He is holding his own, just kind of lay and praying, throwing few strikes. Norberto attempts two submission but both are defended. The referee stands them up with 2 minutes remaining. Norberto shoots again to no avail and the bell sounds.

Round 2

A very boring round, merely little strikes thrown and Everett avoiding the takedown.

Round 3

Norberto is relentless, shooting again. Everett counters with heavy right hands, but doesnt knock his opponent down. Everett avoids Norberto for the remainder of the round, and wins the fight.

Official decision -- Winner via Unanimous Decision, Wallace Everett,

Fight Analysis -- Good showing by Everett, he will definitely be a force in the next FW tournament.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/ol_zpse26a65cc.png

FlW SF -- “The Horror” Alessio de Luca (11-3) vs. “Flaming Fury” Gene Oakley (5-3)

Round 1

Put away the kids people this wasn’t pretty. This was a massacre. De Luca came out and slammed Oakley around like a ragdoll. achieveing mount quickly and pounding him out within 3 minutes of the opening bell.

Official decision -- Alessio de Luca wins via TKO (GnP) @ 2:36 of Round 1. Advances to Flyweight finals

Fight Analysis- De Luca looked better than he has in a while, if he comes in like this next fight, he's looking at a second tournament championship.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/pp_zps082f818f.png

FlW SF -- “The Peragon of Virtue" Fernando Peragon (15-5) vs. “Snake Eyes” Pim Pim Gwon (5-3)

The first 5 minutes are a game of cat and mouse. Gwon wants to play on the ground and Peragon wants none of it. Gwon finally shoots in, only to be clipped with a huge right, getting rocked. He shows persistence as he shoots again, Peragon attempts another counter but misses big time. Gwon gets the guard. Gwon slowly moves his way to mount, but shows no urgency as the clock drains. He attempts a submission near the bell but Peragon doesn’t allow it. Will Gwon regret not attempting to finish more?

Round 2

The two take a round off of sorts, simply trading blows to no avail the entire round.

Round 3

Peragon has got to know he has to do something here and comes out like a bat outta hell, swinging for the fences and hitting a home run right on Gwon’s chin! The Korean Pankration artist collapses, overwhelmed and the referee has to call the fight! Will the third time be the charm for Peragon or will he succept to the wrestling of Alessio de Luca once again?

Official decision -- Fernando Peragon wins via TKO @ 0:22 of Round 3. Advances to Flyweight finals

Fight Analysis - Pergaon is looking at a rematch with De Luca. If he still can't stop the takedown, there will be no change. Will be interesting to see how he overcomes this.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/BK_zps1b7be1d9.png

HW SF -- “The Bad Element” Curt Kitson (17-1) vs. Ozzy Bintley (9-2)

Round 1

Here we are folks the co-main event of the evening, former HW champion Curt Kitson looks to take out Brit Ozzy Bintley. Showing no desire to strike Kitson shoots the takedown within the opening minute, Bintley counters with a big right hand, rocking the former champion! The two have some little exchanges but nothing big comes from it. Bintley looks to wrestle surprisingly clinching with Kitson. Kitson quickly takes control with his superior wrestling. Kitson, despite his best efforts, cannot get Bintley off his feet, which is great for Ozzy. The two eventually seperate, Bintley outstriking the Scotsman. Bintley again gets control of the grapple and pins Kitson until the bell.

Round 2

Bintley continues to stuff the attempts of Kitson at taking this fight to the ground. Time slips away as Bintley dominates on the feet, Kitson shoots again and gets knocked down by a counter right! Bintley pounds away but is pulled into side control. This could be dangerous for Bintley, he doesn’t want to play on the ground with Kitson, knowing this he soon stands just before the bell sounds.

Round 3

Kitson desperately shoots again, this time getting caught by the sprawl of Bintley, he is all turtled up. Bintley pounds away but the iron chin of Kitson prevails. Kitson pulls side control and Bintley wisely stands again. Bintley avoids the grappling of Kitson altogether for the remainder of the round and rocks him on the feet once again.

Official Decision -- Ozzy Bintley wins via Unanimous Decision.

Fight Analysis - Couldn’t have gone better for Bintley here, demolishing his biggest test to date, the only bad part is, neither Fezzik or Fujimoto is a very good match for him. This is a big upset on the heavyweight scene, as Kitson is definitely one of the elite, this is a big setback for him. He will probably resurface soon facing the elite, not wanting a drop in competition.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/FF_zps9dab49e7.png

HW SF -- “The Big Bad” Hassan Fezzik (32-0) vs. Gyokusho “Fujizilla” Fujimoto (13-3)

Round 1

Fezzik catches a leg kick early, knowing his obvious advantage on the ground. Fezzik looks like he is simply toying with his prey as he throws little strikes, eventually taking the back. Quickly attempting an armbar, Fujimoto has no answers and taps out.

Official Decision - Hassan Fezzik wins via Submission @ 4:43 of R1.

Fight Analysis - So it will be Fezzik vs. Bintley, definitely no shocker on Fezzik but Kitson would have been a much more even fight here. It will be interesting to see what kind of gameplan Bintley brings to the table given his obvious disandvantages. We could be in the midst of the upset of the century here!

Matchup breakdowns

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/thecontenderww_zps5282aa03.png

WW QF -- Alan “Flash” Kendall (16-7) vs. Philip “Kid” Ziskie (21-4-1)

In the main event, we see a former tournament champion in Kendall, who is looking to come back from a recent slide. After winning the Season 4 tournament, Kendall dropped 4 straight and was nearly cut. A first round TKO over Simon Vine saved his job. If he loses again, he is likely gone. His opponent, Philip Ziskie, was formerly thought of as the #1 WW in the world prior to joining XCC (as happens with many). Ziskie went 0-2 to start out in XCC losing a split decision to Rufus Stephens and losing due to a cut to Thomas Smith. He holds an XCC record of 2-3 to this date, as in an attempt to avenge a loss to Rufus Stephens he found himself TKO’d in the 1st round. He most recently comes off a win over Carlos Dos Santos via 1st round TKO. He says he hopes to meet Steohens in the finals and finally get that W.

FW Qualifier -- Christakis Boutzikos (8-5) vs. Brock “Spark Plug” Youdale (9-7)

Both coming off of losses in the Season 11 FW tournament, both to Pedro Alves, Youdale lost a split decision in the semifinals, while Boutzikos lost an excellent bout via submission. Both fighters have become well-known for putting on a good show and having all-rounded skills, it is yet to be determined if they have what it takes to eventually win a tournament, considering they’ve both been in 3 tournaments each. The highlight of Boutzikos’ career is arguably defeating eventual tournament winner Kojuro Kudo in a razor-thin split decision at Lightweight, while Youdale has spent his entire XCC career at FW, he dropped a controversial split decision to #1 ranked FW (at the time ) Templeton Crumb.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/thecontendercw_zps75465c07.png

CW QF -- Junior de Souza (11-3) vs. “The Big Bomber” Milton Bobish (5-1)

In a tournament with two former tournament winners, Milton Bobish has his work cut out for him. Having never seen a decision, Bobish won the Season 8 tournament with ease. The Virginia native looks to use his all-rounded skills to bring home that trophy again and get that rematch with Adam White. His opponent, Junior de Souza, is an all-rounded striker from Brazil who has a 2-2 record in XCC. Holding wins over Elvis Millisis via Split Decision and Duke Aiona via 1st round KO, this will be his second shot at a tournament championship.

CQ QF -- “The Shooter" Walter Morgan (13-3) vs. Matti “The Hammer” Kurri (18-2-1)

Matti Kurri almost won it all. Key word, almost. After dispatching of 3 opponents like nothing, he was embarrassed in a one round TKO loss to Cruiserweight King, Adam White. He is coming off a win over Elzo Alves Moura. While his opponent, Walter Morgan,is debuting for XCC after holding championship gold overseas in England. Ranked #7 in the world, Morgan has high hopes of feeling gold around his waist here in America.

CW QF -- Adrian “The Power” Pascal vs. Fjodor Kanchelkis (15-1)

Adrian Pascal (2-1 XCC) returns from making quick work of Duke Aiona last June to take on fellow prospect and favorite to win last year’s tournament prior to a Terron Cabal upset, Fjodor Kanchelkis. Pascal is well known for his very accomplished amateur wrestling, but his opponent is a Russian Sambo expert. Though they are very similar in the grappling aspect, Kanchelkis looks a bit crisper on the feet, but with that said, Pascal has power, but lack technique. This is definitely a battle for the future.

CW QF -- Elgar (30-11) vs. “Stone Cold” Adelfried Von Sibenthal (2-0)

German Muay Thai expert and highly touted prospect Von Sibenthal is a monster. He makes his debut for XCC, taking on veteran Brazilian Muay Thai specialist Elgar. From what we’ve seen Von Sibenthal’striking is superb and his ground game decent, but his takedown defence shows he has the looks of a future top contender. Elgar is on thin ice, having gone 3-4 in his last 7 another loss could be his last in XCC.

CW QF -- Elgar (30-11) vs. “Stone Cold” Adelfried Von Sibenthal (2-0)

Round 1

The two Muay Thai specialists went straight to work, exchanging strikes wildly, making the fans happy. Von Sibenthal got the better of it though, scoring a knockdown and eventually pounding out the much more experienced fighter.

Official Decision -- Adelfried Von Sibenthal wins via TKO @ 3:46 of Round 1.

Fight Analysis- Von Sibenthal is for real! This guy didn’t miss a beat, he could be the next big thing.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/kp_zpsc1991e2f.png

CW QF -- Adrian “The Power” Pascal vs. Fjodor Kanchelkis (15-1)

Round 1

Right away, Pascal is looking to get to the ground, showing his fear of his weakness. In shooting, he got caught with a huge counter left from the “Russian Nightmare” which rocked Pascal. The two clinched up and exchanged control on the fence for about 3 minutes, neither exerting dominance for the rest of the round.

Round 2

Pascal looks gassed as the round begins, Kanchelkis comes in looking for the takedown but he can’t complete it. They once again wrestle against the fence with neither exerting dominance for the remainder of the round.

Round 3

The two come out and exchange strikes, but neither hit anything major. Pascal looks lost out there, gassed and unable to fight his fight. Kanchelkis counters a lazy jab and counters with a huge uppercut, knocking Pascal clean out!’

Official Decision -- Fjodor Kanchelkis wins via KO @ 2:46 of round 3.

Fight Analysis- Took a while for Kanchelkis to get going here, hopefully he come in a little more ready to go next fight.

CQ QF -- “The Shooter" Walter Morgan (13-3) vs. Matti “The Hammer” Kurri (18-2-1)

Round 1

Morgan quickly comes out and surprisingly scores the takedown, we see Kurri on his back for the first time in his XCC career. Morgan smothers Kurri for a few minutes, and eventually starts dropping bombs and Kurri has no answers. The referee has to call the fight.

Official Decision -- Walter Morgan wins via TKO @ 7:22 of Round 1.

Fight Analysis- Poor performance here from Kurri, will be interesting to see how he bounces back. Morgan looked flawless, will have to wait and see how he handles Von Sibenthal.

CW QF -- Junior de Souza (11-3) vs. “The Big Bomber” Milton Bobish (5-1)

Round 1

Bobish shoots in and is met by the sprawl of de Souza. de Souza pounds away, unable to finish. Bobish finds his way back to his feet and shoots again and is avoided. Not much happens, as they grappled on the fence a bit, with nothing major happening.

Round 2

Immediately, Bobish catches a body kick and gets the takedown he’s been searching for. Though he gets the takedown, he fails to make anything out of it. Laying on top of him most of the round, eventually the ref stands them up and nothing happens of the feet.

Round 3

They strike for about half the round, with nothing big happening until Bobish lands a vicious right hook that knocks de Souza down. Bobish tries to finish with an armbar but cannot. Very little damage done throughout the fight, interesting to see how the judges have it.

Official decision -- Milton Bobish wins via Unanimous Decision.

Fight Analysis- Bobish looked bored here, hope he comes back fighting a little smarter.

FW Qualifier -- Christakis Boutzikos (8-5) vs. Brock “Spark Plug” Youdale (9-7)

Round 1

Right away the grappling begins, Youdale pins him to the fence and works his way to a takedown quickly. Youdale moves immediately to mount and begins to pound out Boutzikos and the referee calls the bout!

Official Decision -- Brock Youdale wins via TKO @ 4:36 of Round 1.

Fight Analysis- I think this was it for Boutzikos, very poor performance against someone who isnt exactly the cream of the crop. Youdale looked very promising. Will be looking forward to him in the next tournament.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/kz_zps3b4912d5.png

WW QF -- Alan “Flash” Kendall (16-7) vs. Philip “Kid” Ziskie (21-4-1)

Round 1

Ziskie toys with Kendall on the feet for a bit before getting the easy takedown. Ziskie doesn’t do anything from the top though and they are soon stood up. Ziskie scores another takedown and looks to grind out some more time. Ziskie moves to half guard and can’t get any farther and soon enough the round is over, very vocal boos are heard.

Round 2

Ziskie again plays on the feet and easily scores the takedown, and looks to grind out the round and does so.

Round 3

Ziskie scores the takedown, and this time looks a bit more keen to finish. He moves to side control and pounds out Kendall, soaring to an easy victory.

Official Decision -- Philip Ziskie wins via TKO @ 3:38 of Round 3.

Fight Analysis- Ziskie looked like he was bored here, Kendall had no answers for him anywhere the fight went. Kendall is likely gone now. Having gone 1-5 in the last 6, he is nowhere near his peak in XCC any longer. Ziskie fights the winner of former champion Nathan Chambers and MMA legend Dan Halvorsen.

Matchup breakdowns.

MW Finals -- Jens “Battery” Halle (18-3) vs. Gavin “The Law” Marshall (9-2)

A late alternate, Jens Halle made the best of his luck in his first ever XCC tournament. After a TKO win over former #1 MW in the world, Sean Morrison, in a non-tournament bout. Halle was the easy choice to replace an injured Esteban Vega. Halle knocked out fellow striker Pat Flanagan in the semifinals. Gavin Marshall is a veteran of the XCC cage, having been the first ever XCC MW champion. Coming off wins over Melvin Custard and prospect Garth Neill, Marshall looks ready to go after that championship gold once again.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/thecontenderww_zpsfbdcd2b0.png

WW QF -- “The Strategist” Rufus Stephens (22-3) vs. “Dangerous” Darin Blood (16-7)

Stephens is the hands down favorite to win this tournament, holding wins over 2 of the other competitors already, he has proven himself alot outside of the tournament scene in XCC. He is 5-1 inside XCC, only having been to the semifinals once, losing to Neil Napier via Guillotine. His opponent has been in two tournaments, having made it to the semis each time, he holds wins over Carlos Dos Santos and Dan Halvorsen, Blood hasn’t had too much success against top 15 competition. He most recently comes off a destruction of Keith Plaice in a mismatch.

WW QF -- “Black Superman” Nathan Chambers (20-3) vs. “The Perfectionist” Dan Halvorsen (38-15-2)

Former WW champion Nathan Chambers comes off 2 straight losses, one losing his title to Neil Napier and the other to Rufus Stephens via TKO. Chambers looks to return to his former form and bring together a big win over the legend Halvorsen. Dan Halvorsen is an MMA legend, having been around since the days of “human cockfighters” he may not have evolved much since his early days, but he can get past most foes on experience alone. He recently came off a job-saving KO over Houston George, Halvorsen looks to have one more go at the top.

WW QF -- Gus “Buster” Fitzpatrick (4-2) vs. Procopio “Porco” Golias (16-4) (DEBUT)

Gus Fitzpatrick looks to spoil the debut of top 10 WW Golias. Fitzpatrick is evolving rapidly, and looks to obviously be the future of the WW division, he is fresh off a 1st round TKO of Alan Kendall. Golias makes his American debut coming to us from FLB where he was facing cans. This will be his true proving ground.

WW Alt Bout -- “Spanish Silk” Julio Regueiro (23-4) vs. “The Peruvian Punisher” Claudio Palacios (26-8)

One of the most disappointing acquisitions to date in XCC. Regueiro is 2-4 inside XCC, with many disappointing losses, Regueiro returns to the WW division (he had been fighting at LW) which is his natural weight, in hopes of saving his job and possibly regaining his once great reputation. Claudio Placios looks to spoil the homecoming for Regueiro, with a 2-2 record, Palacios’ job may be on the line as well. He comes off a win over Zeke Elliot via submission.

LHW Qualifier -- Haranobu Oshiro (20-6) (DEBUT) vs. Rafael van der Moot (13-3)

Haranobu Oshiro debuts taking on former tournament champion Rafael van der Moot. These two strikers look to cement a spot in the next LHW tournament as well as putting on a show for the fans.

MW Finals -- Jens “Battery” Halle (18-3) vs. Gavin “The Law” Marshall (9-2)

WW QF -- “Black Superman” Nathan Chambers (20-3) vs. “The Perfectionist” Dan Halvorsen (38-15-2)

WW QF -- “The Strategist” Rufus Stephens (22-3) vs. “Dangerous” Darin Blood (16-7)

WW QF -- Gus “Buster” Fitzpatrick (4-2) vs. Procopio “Porco” Golias (16-4)

WW Alt Bout -- “Spanish Silk” Julio Regueiro (23-4) vs. “The Peruvian Punisher” Claudio Palacios (26-8)

LHW Qualifier -- Haranobu Oshiro (20-6) (DEBUT) vs. Rafael van der Moot (13-3)

LHW -- Haranobu Oshiro (20-6) (DEBUT) vs. Rafael van der Moot (13-3)

Round 1

The two strike the entire round with neither having any sort of advantage.

Round 2

Oshiro shows a sense of urgency, throwing everything at van der Moot immediately, knocking the Dutchman to the ground with a head kick! He follows him to the ground, but cannot finish him off. van der Moot clears his head causes a scramble, which he gets the best of, gaining side control. He takes Oshiro’s back and looks for the Rear Naked Choked to no avail. van der Moot instead resorts to ground and pound and starts dropping bombs on the Japanese striker, the referee is thinking of stopping it, Oshiro is saved by the bell.

Round 3

Not much action to end the fight, Oshiro stops van der Moot from securing the clinch, but is getting destroyed with leg kicks. van der Moot sails to the bell, knowing he has nothing to worry about.

Official Decision -- Rafael van der Moot def Haranobu Oshiro via UD.

Fight Analysis- van der Moot looked impressive, but wasnt looking for the finish, seems he fights better against wrestlers where he can keep them uncomfortable. Oshiro was the #13 LHW in the world prior to this, so he may remain top 25. Originally thought of as a LHW qualifier, but van der Moot will be out too long.

WW Alt Bout -- “Spanish Silk” Julio Regueiro (23-4) vs. “The Peruvian Punisher” Claudio Palacios (26-8)

Round 1

Regueiro looks much better at 170 lbs already, he just looks healthier. Palacios comes out trying to look like a pro boxer, feinting left and right. The two strike and wind up in a clinch, which Regueiro immediately pulls guard! Regueiro immediately searches for a guillotine choke and Palacios cannot stop it from being applied, Regueiro impresses in his return to 170.

Official Decision -- Julio Regueiro def Claudio Palacios via SUB (Guillotine) at 1:23 of R1.

Fight Analysis- Regueiro’s best performance to date in XCC, he needed a dominant performance to save his job and he got it. Will be interesting to see if he can return to the top of the WW division after 2 failed shots at LW. If given the chance in as an alternate, he would definitely be the dark horse. Palacios is stuck in limbo, he needs to show he belongs to stay after his recent performances.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/gf_zpsb11f6b20.png

WW QF -- Gus “Buster” Fitzpatrick (4-2) vs. Procopio “Porco” Golias (16-4)

Round 1

Golias comes in looking for the takedown, but Fitzpatrick stuffs him repeatedly. Fitzpatrick eventually shoots for his own takedown, and get its easily! Golias attempts to scramble but is overpowered by Fitzpatrick, who takes side control. Fitzpatrick takes the back and attempts a choke for the remainder of the round with no luck.

Round 2

Golias comes out looking to get it to the ground again, and gets it. Fitzpatrick was looking for a guillotine but couldn’t get it. Golias shows he is intending to just grind out a win, and does nothing from the top as Fitzpatrick tries various submission attempts with no luck.

Round 3

Golias comes out and achieves the grapple quickly. he pins Fitzpatrick to the fence and uses some good dirty boxing. The two dance on the cage until the round ends in quite an uneventful round.

Official Decision -- Gus Fitzpatrick def Procopio Golias via UD.

Fight Analysis- Fitzpatrick looked flawless here despite being such an underdog. To be a 4-2 rookie, one doesn’t expect a shot at the #8 WW in the world, let alone could they expect to dominate in all aspects as he did. Fitzpatrick meets the winner of Rufus Stephens/Darin Blood, two arguably, even more talented opponents. Fitzpatrick is facing the elite early in his career, what better way to test his future?

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/ch_zps622c2836.png

WW QF -- “Black Superman” Nathan Chambers (20-3) vs. “The Perfectionist” Dan Halvorsen (38-15-2)

Round 1

Chambers immediately takes this to the ground. He gets side control and then takes the back, looking for the choke. Chambers has no luck until the bell sounds.

Round 2

Halvorsen spends the round searching for the takedown, which Chambers stuffs over and over again. Chambers looks tired before the bell sounds.

Round 3

Chambers comes out looking to strike, keeping distance at all costs. Halvorsen shoots in and Chambers strikes back with a heavy counter uppercut, knocking down the legend! Chmbers pounds away at his fallen foe until the referee saves Halvorsen from serious harm.

Official Decision -- Nathan Chambers def Dan Halvorsen via TKO @ 1:40 of Round 3.

Fight Analysis- Chambers was dominant here, showing good striking we hadn’t had to see before. He takes on Ziskie in the semi-finals, where his wrestling will definitely be his gameplan, will he get his shot at being a 2-time champion?

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/bs_zps7691420e.png

WW QF -- “The Strategist” Rufus Stephens (22-3) vs. “Dangerous” Darin Blood (16-7)

Round 1

Stephens comes out looking to grapple, clinching immediately. He pushes Blood to the wall, basically just using up a couple of minutes before the ref seperates them. Stephens again walls Blood and lands little knees to the thigh, Stephens lands little dirty boxing before Blood takes control of the grapple. Blood backs off looking to strike, but the two end up grappling for the rest of the round.

Round 2

Stephens comes out and pins Blood to the fence basically the entire round, within the final minute Blood takes control of the grapple and backed off, and struck Stephens against the fence rocking him! Stephens has nowhere to go, but he recovers well, waiting out the round.

Round 3

Blood comes in looking for a takedown, Stephens stops it with a sprawl. Stephens pounds away with shots to the body and head. Stephens rolls Blood over gaining side control. Stephens graps an arm and cranks it back, causing the Hawaiian to tap before his arm breaks!

Official Decision -- Rufus Stephens def Darin Blood via SUB(Armbar) @ 1:52 of Round 3.

Fight Analysis- Stephens was pretty dominant, but Blood had glimmers of hope. Stephens advances to take on fellow wrestling standout Gus Fitzpatrick. In the grappling, Stephens may have a slight edge, but if he doesn’t. Fitzpatrick is expected to be better on the feet. Stephens will be relying on his grappling in the next round to avoid Fitzpatrick getting another upset.

MW Finals -- Jens “Battery” Halle (18-3) vs. Gavin “The Law” Marshall (9-2)

Round 1

Marshall knows his advantage on the ground and slams Halle down almost immediately. Marshall works to get the mount but cannot, despite keeping busy working to pass, the referee stands them back up. Marshall shoots again, this time Halle avoids him. Halle is working the body, but isn’t hurting Marshall. Halle feints but Marshall is having none of it, avoiding strikes. Marshall moves closer to Halle, looking to attack. Marshall jabs and Halle strikes back with a vicious straight right that put Marshall facefirst on the ground, he is sleeping on the canvas!

Official Decision -- Jens Halle def Gavin Marshall via KO @ 9:45 of Round 1.

Fight Analysis -- Showing Halle’s elusiveness of the grappling game as he showed against Marshall her tonight and Morrison before, will certainly come in handy against champion, Marlon John. Halle has that “don’t blink” kind of power any fighter is blessed to have. If he can keep it on the feet we could have a whole different kind of champion on our hands.

Matchup breakdowns

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/MR_zps60662d7e.png

Women’s SF -- “Yellow Peril” Rachel McGuinness (8-2, 3-2 XCC) vs. Leslie Myers (5-2, 4-0 XCC)

Former tournament finalist Rachel McGuinness looks to make it to the finals once again. Having defeated fellow striker and XCC veteran Isabeli Martins in the QF by knockout, McGuinness has only been tested against grapplers once, in a loss to Jessica Herbig, so not alot is known about her ground game. Myers is something of an enigma inside XCC having gone 3-0 before even entering a tournament, all of which were first round finishes. Not bad for someone who was hired with a 1-2 record. In the QF she continued this streak, forcing her 4th first round submission in defeating former #1 ranked Hester MacLean, high hopes are in place for Myers. Not much is known about how she handles strikes though, which may be her downfall.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/hw-1_zpsc655971e.png

LW SF -- David “Spider Man” Webb (21-4, 5-1 XCC) vs. Fukusaburu Hirano (13-1-1, 1-1 XCC)

Former tournament champion David Webb returns to the tournament, this time as an alternate. Having recently defeated former GAMMA fighter Quincy Cole, he was granted this spot to replace injured Lukas Mellburg. Holding wins over Julio Regueiro, Carlos da Guia, and Bobby Brubaker to earn his title shot before, he has fought the best and has only gone to a decision once inside the XCC cage. Will he be more lucky this time around? Hirano was defeated in the tournament Webb won, by Carlos da Guia, whom knocked him out in one round. Hirano came back to get a win in the QF over former GAMMA champion Jack Humphreys in a hard fought decision win. It remains to be seen what kind of finishing ability the Japanese all rounder has.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/bh_zpsb3e34521.png

Women’s SF -- Nina “Liberty” Belle (8-2, 3-1 XCC) vs. Serena “Hunter” Hill (5-1. 2-1 XCC)

Two rookie strikers are set to do battle in the semis both coming off dominant performances. Hill comes off two straight decision wins, defeating Echiko Watanabe in the qualification and then extremely heavy-handed Sylvia Wilson in the QF. The South African kickboxer looks to impress with a third straight win inside the XCC cage. Nina Belle is entering her second semi-final bout here tonight after being eliminated in the first ever Women’s tournament by Isabeli Martins. She is coming off 2 straight finished, knocking out Katrina Ovejas in 24 seconds in the 2nd round to qualify, and then TKOing Mariana de Souza in the 2nd round as well. We should be in for a treat as these two strikers are ready to go to war!

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/vb_zpsa1bf789b.png

LW SF -- Bobby “All Star” Brubaker (12-5, 1-1 XCC) vs. Vjekoslav “Cro Con” Sarich (11-4, 9-4 XCC)

Two very heavy strikers for their small stature, Brubaker is coming off a win over former kickboxer Edgar van den Hoogenband via decision, in which he looked very impressive. While Sarich recently won a 4-man qualification tournament defeating undefeated prospects Louie Sullivan and Tim Oldacres in one night, cementing his SF spot. Sarich is ranked #9 in the world, so a big performance is expected from him. Sarich is one of the most active fighters in XCC having fought 13 times for us.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/do_zpsff60ae62.png

LW Alternate -- Colm “Celtic Warrior” Dee (16-3, 2-1 XCC) vs. Seth “Submission King” (19-3, 5-3 XCC)

O’Breen is a former tournament champion who has gone 2-3 since then. Recently saving his job by defeating Dwayne Alleyne, he looks to return to his former glory, while Dee has only been in a single tournament, he has a win over recent LW tournament winner (to be fair he was a late alt) Sukarno. Dee was defeated by Carlos da Guia in the SF, but he looks to get his first taste of gold, first by knocking out O’Breen, making him 2-0 against former tournament winners.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/dt_zps9c0055b8.png

LHW QF / Loser Leaves XCC -- Stephen de Winter (7-4, 4-4 XCC) vs. “Samurai Spirit” Tomohiro Takeuchi (21-4, 1-2 XCC)

This is a bout between two fighters who are right on the edge of being unemployed. Takeuchi entered XCC viewed as a top 5 WW, but due to the massive overflowing in that division at the time, he opted to fight at LHW. He has gone 0-2 since the change, dropping a split decision to Dutch striker Rafael van der Moot and getting stomped by #1 LHW in the world Tadamasa Yamada (even while injuring Yamada and removing him from the tournament). While de Winter is 4-4 in XCC with 3 of those losses coming in a row recently, but to his credit they were to some of the best. He lost to current LHW champion Isaiah Monroe, undefeated Ken Peters, and recently lost a close bout with Spencer Rubenstein. These two are fighting for their jobs as well as a semifinal spot, so it will be interesting to see how they deal with the pressure.

Welcome to XCC: The Contender, LIVE on Premier Sports all around the world. We are LIVE from Honlulu, Hawaii.

LHW QF / Loser Leaves XCC -- Stephen de Winter (7-4, 4-4 XCC) vs. “Samurai Spirit” Tomohiro Takeuchi (21-4, 1-2 XCC)

Round 1

The fighters come out looking to strike and exchange but nothing worthy of mention happens. de Winter is the one to initiate a grapple as odd as that is, and they immediately seperate soon after. Takeuchi catches a leg kick and wrestles de Winter to the ground, this could spell trouble for the Dutchman. Takeuchi moves to half guard, but cannot pass further. After a stalemate, the referee stands them up much to the dismay of Takeuchi. Takeuchi looks to move in for another clinch but de Winter blasts him with some hard rights, rocking the Japanese veteran! Takeuchi backs away unsteadily and de Winter blasts him again, knocking him to the ground! Takeuchi recovers and pulls half guard as the bell sounds.

Round 2

de Winter comes out looking confident, countering Takeuchi and rocking him once again! He simply lets him back up to his feet, and Takeuchi shoots and de Winter sprawls well, leaving Takeuchi turtled up. de Winter throws a soccer kick to the body, but Takeuchi returns to his feet. The two clinch and dance on the fence until the round ends soon after.

Round 3

Takeuchi spends this round desperately seeking the takedown he knows he needs to win. de Winter sprawls and avoids all attempts with ease and coasts to the W.

Official decision -- Stephen de Winter def Tomohiro Takeuchi via UD.

Fight Analysis -- de Winter definitely needed a big win and this is it. His gameplan was superb in execution as he kept the fight standing where he knew he couldn’t be beaten. Takeuchi knows he is gone from XCC, at least for now until he can get a few big wins and come back.

LW Alternate -- Seth “Submission King” (19-3, 5-3 XCC) vs. Colm “Celtic Warrior” Dee (16-3, 2-1 XCC)

Round 1

Every fight starts standing and that is just where Dee wants it. He is happy to see O’Breen isn’t afraid to exchange with him, but Dee knows that is foolish. O’Breen quickly clinches and attempts a slam, which Dee avoids. Immediately after avoiding his foe, Dee strikes back hard with a barrage, rocking O’Breen! O’Breen is taking a lot of punishment and down he goes! Dee leaves his comfort zone and follows him to the ground, but cannot finish the fight. Dee stands up, and O’Breen seems hesitant to follow. Dee attempts to kick O’Breen’s leg from standing and O’Breen catches it and pulls half guard. O’Breen attempts to lock in a kimura from the bottom and Dee looks stuck here! Dee has to tap as O’Breen cranks his shoulder, what a turnaround!

Official Decision -- Seth O’Breen def Colm Dee via SUB (Kimura) @ 6:16 of Round 1.

LW SF -- Bobby “All Star” Brubaker (12-5, 1-1 XCC) vs. Vjekoslav “Cro Con” Sarich (11-4, 9-4 XCC)

Round 1

Our first semifinal bout of the night is underway as the two strikers meet in the center of the cage. Brubaker is mixing kicks and punches well, keeping Sarich guessing. Brubaker is countering well and hits Sarich with a vicious counter left, rocking him! They exchange and end up grappling. Sarich uses his dirty boxing and controls Brubaker well for a few minutes. They seperate again and Brubaker puts Sarich on wobbly legs again with a heavy counter! This time he keeps on him, moving into the pocket and knocking the Croatian off his feet! Brubaker pounds away, with Sarich defending somewhat, the referee oddly calls the fight. Extremely controversial, Sarich got robbed here. Hope he can bounce back from this odd setback.

Official Decision -- Bobby Brubaker def Vjekoslav Sarich via TKO @ 9:18 of Round 1.

Fight Analysis -- The stoppage may have been early, but Sarich had no answers for Brubaker here tonight. Brubaker proved to be his biggest test on the feet to date, and it showed he still has a lot of work to do. Brubaker is set to fight in his first tournament final against either Hirano or Webb, Brubaker better work his wrestling skills to prep for either of them.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/bh_zpsb3e34521.png

Women’s SF -- Serena “Hunter” Hill (5-1. 2-1 XCC) vs. Nina “Liberty” Belle (8-2, 3-1 XCC)

Round 1

The two strikers spend half the first round feeling eachother out, with no big happenings. They clinch due to missed strikes, which Hill gets the better of. They seperate and immediately Belle puts on the pressure, rocking Hille with a great combination! They enter into the pocket and swing wildy, Hill knocks Bell to the canvas! Hill attempts to finish but lacks the power to do so. Bell pulls half guard, and starts a scramble. Bell shows the better ground game, sweeping Hill and getting side control just before the bell.

Round 2

After a high-paced round, the two come out feeling eachother out once again. After about 30 seconds of nothing big happening, Belle slips past a lazy jab and knocks Hill to the ground with a headkick right to the forehead! Hill crashes to the canvas unconscious and the referee saves here from any unneccesary punishment.

Official Decision -- Nina Belle def Serena Hill via KO @ 0:49 of Round 2.

LW SF -- Fukusaburu Hirano (13-1-1, 1-1 XCC) vs. David “Spider Man” Webb (21-4, 5-1 XCC)

Round 1

The two strike to begin the round, but it is simply a feeling out process. They clinch a few times but no one can make anything happen. Webb catches a body kick and gets the takedown about 4 minutes into the round. Webb does nothing from top position and they soon are back on the feet. Webb shoots in once again, but settles for pinning Hirano to the fence. Webb smothers him until the bell, content to grind out the round here.

Round 2

Webb comes out eager to get this fight to the ground once again, but Hirano has other ideas. Webb grapples, but cannot get Hirano to the ground. The round is spent with a lot of elusiveness, Hirano escaping the clutches of Webb, a very uneventful round.

Round 3

Hirano comes out looking to land some heavy hands, Webb throws a jab but Hirano will have none of it. He counters with a barrage of right hands, and Webb falls to the ground hurt! Hirano smells bloods and pounds away until the referee decides that’s enough, giving him his first ever tournament finalist spot!

Official Decision -- Fukusubaru Hirano def David Webb via TKO @ 0:24 of Round 3.

Fight Analysis- Hirano showed a pretty hard game to beat here tonight, showing an array of skills any LW will have problems with. When he meets Brubaker in the finals, it will be interesting to see what his gameplan is coming in.

Women’s SF -- “Yellow Peril” Rachel McGuinness (8-2, 3-2 XCC) vs. Leslie Myers (5-2, 4-0 XCC)

Round 1

McGuiness comes out outstriking the younger Myers, who looks obviously uncomfortable on the feet. Despite this, she holds her own, landing a few strikes of her own, nothing significant though. Myers shoots in but is avoided by quick footwork. Myers avoids strikes, looking for an opening and sees it, getting the single leg! There are only 10 seconds left as Myers finally takes the fight where she wants it. McGuiness is saved by the bell.

Round 2

Myers comes out, clinching immediately, and pins McGuiness to the cage. Myers takes her opponent down against the fence with ease and moves to side control. Myers wastes no time, locking up the tight armbar! McGuiness taps, making Leslie Myers 5-0 inside of the XCC cage!

Official Decision -- Leslie Myers def Rachel McGuiness via SUB (Armbar) @ 2:53 of Round 2.

Fight Analysis- This was Myers’ first true test on the feet and she didn’t look awesome, but she looked like she could hold her own. Her opponent in the finals is a similar opponent, but can she handle the knockout power that Belle brings to the table, and will Belle be able to handle the grappling of Myers. We will have to wait and see!

XCC returns to its homeroots in San Diego, as the finals of the Season 10 FW Tournament are set to take place as BJJ expert Pedro Alves, meets up with former boxer Templeton Crumb. Also on the card, semifinal spots are on the line as we see the other 3 LHW quarterfinals commence. Former LHW champion, Affonso Villar, meets up with fellow veteran Spencer Rubenstein in the co-main event. And lastly, a HW qualifiying matchup is set to take place for next season, as nearly 400 lbs. boxer Clarence Gibson meets up with Japanese superstar, debuting, Tomoji Takaoka.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/ca_zpsa49a0c7d.png

FW Finals -- Templeton “The Body” Crumb (24-5, 5-2 XCC) vs. Pedro “The Wolverine” Alves (17-4, 6-1 XCC)

Our second tournament final is set to take place, this time in the FW division. Both of these competitors have made it to the finals before, but to no avail with Alves dropping a TKO to Easton Frye, and Crumb dropping a submission to current champion Masahiro Maeno. Crumb comes in off of two straight wins by 2nd round KO, defeating former LW tournament winner Kojuro Kudo in the QF, and then former tournament champion Alejandro Laguera in the SF. Alves comes in off 4 straight XCC wins, defeating Shinsui Sakata via UD and James Busfield via 1st round SUB prior to entering the ultimate tournament in sports for a second time. Alves defeated Christakis Boutzikos via 1st round SUB in the QF, and then edged out razor thin decision over Brock Youdale. This is definitely a grappler vs. stirker matchup, and depending on whether Alves can get in his comfort zone or not, will make or break this fight for him.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/rv_zpsefa16f82.png

LHW Alternate -- “The Reaper” Spencer Rubenstein (15-8, 1-3 XCC) vs. Affonso “Cyborg” Villar (30-4, 6-2 XCC)

Villar has the obvious favorite here. Being a former LHW champion, taking on someone on the verge of losing your job isn’t much of a challenge. But that isn’t to count Rubenstein out. Rubenstien has been very hit or miss inside XCC despite his well rounded skillset. If he was to pull of the upset here, it’d be one of the bigger ones in XCC history.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/gt_zps9b2bc624.png

HW Qualifier -- “Slug” Clarence Gibson (6-5, 2-2 XCC) vs. Tomoji “HULK” Takaoka (8-0) (DEBUT)

Clarence Gibson is a massive man, weighing 380 lbs. and his success in XCC has come because of being so much bigger than the mainly 265 lbs members of the HW division. He recently ot his first finish in XCC defeating Mason Archer in 54 seconds of the 2nd round. While Tomoji makes his promotional debut tonight, but thats not without any expectations. This 480 lbs. Sumo star dominated the Japanese HW scene, gaining notable victories over top 10 HW’s, Sadatake Hiro, Ichisake Miyagi, Armen Sarkisian, Sander Schiller, and Saladin. Most of these victories came within one round due to his massive size advantage, as the majority of his opponents weigh in around 265. This battle will put nearly 1000 lbs. of angry fighters in the cage. Who will be the biggest man in next season’s tournament?

LHW QF -- “The Hand Grenade” Valentin Taneyev (12-2, 5-2 XCC) vs. Daniil Skala (23-9, 3-4 XCC)

Taneyeve has come so close, having been the runner up twice. Once to Rafael van der Moot, and most recently to reigning LHW champion Isaiah Monroe. Taneyeve hasn’t fought since the loss to Monroe and looks to come back at his best. Taneyev comes in looking to finish off Skala quickly, his last two wins came within the opening stanza. Skala however, hasn’t had much success tournament-wise, or in general. He comes in on his first winning streak inside XCC, coming off a split decision over Spencer Rubenstein and a unanimous verdict over Andoni Olano. He has seen problems with finishing opponents, as all 3 of his XCC wins came by decision, but he has been finished in all but one of his 4 losses here.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/np_zpsc3cfd2d4.png

LHW QF -- The Man of Steel” Ken Peters (11-1, 1-0 XCC) vs. Pavel “The Infidel” Navitski (11-3. 1-0 XCC)

In a battle of up and comers, both are undefeated in XCC impressing in their only performances. Peters holds a TKO win over Stephen de Winter, while Navitski knocked out Davis Spyrou in vicious fashion in his debut. Peters has the definite ground and grappling advantage, despite Navitski being a Sambo fighter. Navitski will certainly be headhunting as these two square off in the cage, which may be a problem for Peters withhis untested chin.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/mm_zps89d04815.png

LHW QF -- Elvis “The King” Milissis (6-3, 2-2 XCC) vs. Matthew Michael Kirby (11-3, 3-2 XCC)

In this battle of strikers, Stephen de Winter is set for a treat when he takes on the winner. Millisis is coming off 2 straight losses and his job may be in jeopardy. After debuting and going 2-0, he dropped a controversial split decision to Junior de Souza and then lost to Crow Leddy via TKO, a win here may be just what he needs to get back on track toward the top. While MMK, as he has been nicknamed for obvious reasons, also comes off a loss to Crow Leddy via TKO. Prior to that he went 3-1, defeating Adrian Majorom. Collins Lundie, and fellow competitor in this tournament Daniil Skala, all in the first round.

Full line-up

LHW QF -- Elvis “The King” Milissis (6-3, 2-2 XCC) vs. Matthew Michael Kirby (11-3, 3-2 XCC)

Round 1

The fight starts fast, with both fighters flying out of the gate right at eachother. Millisis immediately attemmpts for the thai plum, but MMK evades. They swing wildly and MMK clips him right on the jaw, Millisis goes down! MMK dives in with a vicious ground shot, putting all his power into that, but Millisis recovers. Millisis reaches up for a guillotine, which MMK blocks, but he can’t stop Millisis from sweeping him, gaining side control. What a turn of events here, Millisis mounts him and begins dropping bombs! MMK has no answers and the referee stops the fight!

Official Decision -- Elvis Millisis def MMK via TKO @ 6:08 of Round 1.

Fight Analysis- Great recovery here from Millisis, showing a ground game no one knew he had. That may come in handy when he takes on de Winter in the SF. MMK looked to have the win locked down here, but this setback may be too big to come back from for the brawler.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/np_zpsc3cfd2d4.png

LHW QF -- The Man of Steel” Ken Peters (11-1, 1-0 XCC) vs. Pavel “The Infidel” Navitski (11-3. 1-0 XCC)

Round 1

Peters looks intent to get the takedown right away, but is avoided by Navitski early on. About half the round goes by with the striking at a stalemate, Peters eventually secures the takedown. Navitski is outmatched here, as Peters moves to mount and forces the ref to stop the bout soon after.

Official Decision -- Ken Peters def Pavel Navitski via TKO @ 6:00 of Round 1.

Fight Analysis- Navitski had no answers here, Peters will be a handful for either Skala or Taneyev. “The Man of Steel” looks to upgrade to gold sometime in his near future!

LHW QF -- “The Hand Grenade” Valentin Taneyeve (12-2, 5-2 XCC) vs. Daniil Skala (23-9, 3-4 XCC)

Round 1

Basically, Taneyev gets the takedown early and smothers Skala for the majority of the round. He catches Skala in an armbar at the bell to force the tap.

Official Decision -- Valentin Taneyev def Daniil Skala via SUB (Armbar) @ 9:58 of Round 1.

Fight Analysis- Great job by Taneyev, he looked like a lion toying with his prey.

HW Qualifier -- “Slug” Clarence Gibson (6-5, 2-2 XCC) vs. Tomoji “HULK” Takaoka (8-0) (DEBUT)

Round 1

Takaoka pins Gibson to the wall almost immediately, getting the big takedown right after. He moves to side control and locks onto an arm, showing great jiu-jitsu, he forces Gibson to tap, ending this mismatch.

Official Decision -- Tomoji Takaoka def Clarence Gibson via SUB (Armbar) @ 3:23 of Round 1.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/rv_zpsefa16f82.png

LHW Alternate -- “The Reaper” Spencer Rubenstein (15-8, 1-3 XCC) vs. Affonso “Cyborg” Villar (30-4, 6-2 XCC)

Round 1

The two come out swinging right away, with nothing significant happening. They end up in a clinch, which Rubenstein gains control of. He pins the former champion to the wall. Rubenstein works a takedown but is no match for the defense of Cyborg. Rubenstein retains control until the round ends.

Round 2

Cyborg looks a bit concerned, having been dominated by what many see as a gatekeeper. They end up clinched due to strikes again, this time Rubenstein works his dirty boxing. He rocks Cyborg with a huge right uppercut, his legs buckle and his back meets the canvas! Rubenstein sense the upset and begins to pound away, but Cyborg is already recovered. Despite his attempts to take it to the ground, Rubenstein stands and lets Cyborg up.. Cyborg will not let this mistake go by, and he throws a huge counter right, and Rubenstein is knocked out instantly!

Official Decision -- Affonso Villar def Spencer Rubenstein via KO @ 3:36 of Round 2.

Fight Analysis- What a performance from Rubenstein. Despite a 1-4 record in XCC, dominating a former champion like that has earned him one last chance. Given more time to evolve, Rubenstein could give anyone a run for their money. Villar looked very bland here, his only true action were the knockout blow. Luckily as an alternate, he doesn’t have a SF fight to worry about, at least yet.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/ca_zpsa49a0c7d.png

FW Finals -- Pedro “The Wolverine” Alves (17-4, 6-1 XCC) vs. Templeton “The Body” Crumb (24-5, 5-2 XCC)

Round 1

Alves knows he has no interest in striking with the former boxer, and shoots the takedown right away. Crumb stops him with a sprawl and lands big shots to the head and body. Alves returns to his feet, he moves in to wrestle with Crumb, but he is rocked big time by a counter left! Alves wobbles but won’t fall down! The round is coming close to an end and Alves gets dropped by a perfect 1-2 combination, Crumb swarms but Alves is saved by the bell!

Round 2

In this round, Alves got stuffed on the TD attempt, and Crumb dominated the striking game with ease.

Round 3

Alves comes in desperate to get this to the ground, he shoots in and gets blasted with a left cross, he falls to the ground once more! Crumb follows the BJJ expert to the ground, looking for the finish. Alves recovers and Crumb looks worried in his half guard. Alves sweeps Crumb, gaining side control on top. He quickly wraps up Crumb’s neck in a deep arm triangle, Crumb is forced to tap or take a nap!

Official Decision -- Pedro Alves def Templeton Crumb via SUB (Arm Triangle) @ 4:32 of Round 3. Pedro Alves win the XCC Season 11 FW Tournament!

Fight Analysis- Alves with one hell of a comeback here! Crumb looked to have the title shot on lock, but anything can happen here inside the XCC cage. Alves is set to meet up with champion and fellow submission artist, Masahiro Maeno in the near future. Can he continue his impressive XCC run with another big win?

MW QF -- Braulio “Loco” Moura (22-3-1 NC, 3-1 XCC) vs. “Robocop” Pat Flanagan (9-6, 9-6 XCC)

Moura returns to XCC after a disappointing end to his latest tournament run. He made it all the way to the finals, only to break his hand in the semi’s and he ended up forfeiting to now MW champion Marlon John. Moura brings dangerous muay thai skills to the table that should make for an exciting bout. “Robocop” as he is so well known, Pat Flanagan, is a brawler raised on the streets of Detroit. He has spent his entire career here in XCC, and has mainly only met up with other strikers and has found some good success. Despite not being the most all rounded in the tournament, Flanagan always has that chance to end the fight with a vicious knockout with his stone hands and granite chin. Flanagan looks to put his chin down and push forward and through whoever is put in front of him, and this may spell trouble for Moura.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/mm_zps2a337022.png

MW QF -- “The Man With No Nickname” Sean Morrison (33-6, 1-3 XCC) vs. “Mack Attack” Petey Mack (15-4, 4-2 XCC)

Morrison, as many former GAMMA champions, has been disappointing in XCC. Debuting with an abysmal wrestlehump win over Dexter Darling, Morrison lost his next 3 straight bouts, to heavy-handed Mike Watson, Hiro Arai (he was a last minute co-main event replacement), and most recently was knocked out cold by tournament champion Jens Halle. Morrison looks to get back on track with a win over his fellow American. Petey Mack however, has seen decent success inside XCC. A former tournament champion, Mack lost his title bout to then champion, Gavin Marshall, in a disappointing performance. Mack has gone 1-1 since, including a TKO loss to current champion Marlon John.

MW QF -- Heiji “The Immortal” Endo (16-3, DEBUT) vs. “The Amazing" JJ Reid (28-6, 2-1 XCC)

Endo looks set to debut having fought some of the best overseas in Japan. This Japanese wrestling standout looks to see what he can do here in the States. Having won 3 of his last 4 bouts, including an avenged loss to Jin Katou, Endo looks to be in the prime of his career. While JJ Reid on the other hand has had mixed success here in XCC, holding wins over Braulio Moura and Bambang Sriyanto, but the problem is, he is on the wrong side of the big 3-0. This 31 year old Canadian Jiu-Jitsu standout looks to cement his status as one of the elite in the world before his time is up.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/wm_zps97d0122c.png

MW QF -- Mike Watson (15-1, 3-1 XCC), vs. Sid “Misfit” Morgan (8-3, 3-2 XCC RETURN)

Watson returns from a long layoff after a loss to Fiyero Lermontov in the finals of Season 8. In his year off, Watson claims to have “trained his ass off” to come back better than ever, and he will need to be in peak form to take out fellow former finalist, Sid Morgan. Morgan returns after his first XCC run ended in a contract dispute that found him released. Morgan went 2-1 since leaving XCC, including most recently a 1-1 stint in GAMMA where he defeated big name Christian Mountfield. Morgan is grateful for a second shot at the “Ultimate Tournament in Sports” and this time he looks to leave no doubt that he is the greatest MW in the world.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/ps_zpsd578560b.png

HW Qualifier -- “Not-So-Gentle Giant” Fritz Phipps (7-3, 2-2 XCC) vs. Antonio “The Hulk”Santos (13-4, 5-3 XCC)

These two huge men have shown tremendous power. Fritz Phipps holds wins over former football star Norbert Vinkus and HW gatekeeper Yakov Karataev, but has suffered defeat to former champion Curt Kitson as well as rookie Clarence Savage inside XCC. He has shown decent wrestling, but mainly this is due to his overwhelming size. He has power and he wants to show what he can do against the very best. While Santos, has spent much of his career in XCC, even being a finalist before succumbing to eventual HW champion Curt Kitson. Santos has mainly been a finisher, with only 1 decision in 5 wins, even holding a submission win as well. Santos has earned his “Hulk” nickname and he looks to send a statement to the HW division with a dominant win.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk264/immortal_enigma/fd_zps8e0c58f8.png

HW -- “Hebrew Hammer” Avidor Federman (0-0) vs. “Tower of Serbia” Pero Draskovic (0-0)

These two heavyweights are set to make their professional debuts in the biggest promotion in the entire world.. No pressure guys.. Federman, the Israeli, has shown decent wrestling and boxing on the amateur levels. He claims though he has grappling experience, he loves to stand and bang. Draskovic is a Serbian Muay Thai champion. Having a 6 inch height advantage, he is a hard target to hit so high up in the air. He said he looks to start off his career with a vicious knockout.

MW QF -- Braulio “Loco” Moura (22-3-1 NC, 3-1 XCC) vs. “Robocop” Pat Flanagan (9-6, 9-6 XCC)
