'Dirty' Dick Murdoch vs. Cactus Jack

Comment: It seems you're taking Cactus in a much different route tag team wise than I did, which could pay off big depending on who you have in mind. I'm intrigued.

'The Iceman' Dean Malenko vs. Johnny B. Badd

Comment: Johnny B. Badd: JTTS for Hire.

'The World's Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock vs. 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright

Comment: Given you aren't pushing "undefeated Alex Wright" like I am, Shamrock is gonna be a MUCH bigger deal for you.

Brian Armstrong and Harlem Heat vs. 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson, 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes and Brad Armstrong

Comment: Dude, that face team is STACKED.

WCW World Tag Team Titles Match

Pretty Wonderful defend vs. 'The WCW Franchise' Sting and Rick Martel

Comment: I'm beginning to think you're working us with Martel, and he's really a heel...

Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine vs. Terry Funk

Comment: Newly turned Funk should be fun.

'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair vs. 'Flyin' Brian Pillman

Comment: This one should be a fine match.

Fun Fan Signs:

Arrogant Franchises!

Comments On Previous Show:

Like I said, the more it goes the more I feel Martel is playing Sting before turning on him.

Too bad about Benoit, but I'm sure you can find someone to replace him as Dean's partner soon.

Why Terri? I considered signing her at one point, but I let it go because of her bad relationship to Dusty.

Can't wait to see Captivating Chris!

<p>Prediction Key:</p><p> </p><p>

'Dirty' Dick Murdoch vs. <strong>Cactus Jack</strong></p><p>

Comment: <em>BANG BANG!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>'The Iceman' Dean Malenko</strong> vs. Johnny B. Badd</p><p>

Comment: <em>Malenko needs a build-up for his Submission Match.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>'The World's Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock</strong> vs. 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright</p><p>

Comment: <em>Alex does Das Wunderjob for The World's Most Dangerous Man.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Brian Armstrong and Harlem Heat vs. <strong>'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson, 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes and Brad Armstrong</strong></p><p>

Comment: <em>Too much talent on the face side for me to root for B.G., Booker, and...who's that other guy? Ah, now I remember. Stevie Ray.</em></p><p> </p><p>

WCW World Tag Team Titles Match</p><p>

<strong>Pretty Wonderful</strong> defend vs. 'The WCW Franchise' Sting and Rick Martel</p><p>

Comment: Ditto. Even if Martel was a babyface when I first saw him in the WWF, he's so much better as a heel. I also detect some hanky-panky on his part that would sabotage the match for his team-up with Sting.</p><p> </p><p>

Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine vs. <strong>Terry Funk</strong></p><p>

Comment: <em>I normally don't root for the older guy, but this is Terry f'n' Funk!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair</strong> vs. 'Flyin' Brian Pillman</p><p>

Comment: <em>Please, I hope these two have great chemistry, because even if Flair's almost certainly going over, this has the makings of an A-rated match.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Fun Fan Signs: <em>"GRACIE OWNS SHAMROCK!!!"</em></p><p> </p><p>

Comments On Previous Show: No wonder the Nasties lost. I would imagine they're backstage cancers (especially Knobbs), and if that's the case, then good riddance. And thanks for including my sign in the Cactus Jack promo, which happened to be my favorite promo of the show. BANG BANG! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

To kick off the show, out from the back comes <strong>Ricky Steamboat</strong>! The Dragon is dressed in street clothes as he walks down to the ring and steps inside. He has a wireless microphone in his hand and listens to chants of 'Dragon, Dragon, Dragon.' The crowd here in Portland are definitely behind Ricky Steamboat.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ricky Steamboat:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Thank you so much for that entrance, WCW fans. I really appreciate it. Now, it has gotten around that I am going to be making a special announcement tonight here on WCW Saturday Night. We are just a few days away from the Clash of the Champions live on pay-per-view. But before I get to that, I want to bring out the man here tonight who figures in my announcement. So please stand on your feet and cheer for the man they call Sting!"</span></span></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/Sting.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> The crowd is in shock and no one is in more shock than the man who just got called out. <strong>Sting</strong> is dressed to wrestle as he is teaming with Rick Martel later on tonight against the WCW World Tag Team Champions Pretty Wonderful. Sting high fives the fans along the way to the ring and then climbs the stairs, entering the ring. He shakes hands with Ricky Steamboat and then motions for him to continue.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ricky Steamboat:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Stinger, thank you for coming out here. You and I have a lot of mutual respect for one another. That is obvious back in the locker room and out here being played out on national television. But one thing that has never happened here in WCW or any other promotion has been a singles match between you and me. Well, at the Clash of the Champions, you don't have a match. I don't have a match. Why don't we put on a clinic for all of these WCW wrestling fans?"</span></span></p><p> </p><p> If Sting looked shocked before, he is absolutely flabbergasted right now. He goes around and asks for a microphone. He finally finds one and looks Ricky Steamboat in the eyes for a long moment.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sting:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Ricky, you and I have been friends for a very long time. I accept!"</span></span></p><p> </p><p> Sting offers a handshake to Ricky Steamboat. The two men look each other in the eyes and Steamboat accepts the handshake! Sting raises Steamboat's arm and then Steamboat does the same to the arm of Sting. Looks like we have another match for the Clash! Two legends here in WCW. Murdoch goes for an early Brainbuster on Jack but it gets reversed into a vertical suplex by the man from Truth or Consequences New Mexico. A lot of punches and kicks are thrown by both men. The match is not just held within the ring, though. The action also takes place outside the ring where Jack sends Murdoch head-first into the ring post. A body slam sets Murdoch up outside the ring. Jack climbs on the apron and gives a 'Bang Bang' toward Murdoch. He runs along the apron -- flying elbow drop connects! Jack smiles a gap-toothed smile as he gets up. He picks up Murdoch and rolls him back into the ring. He sets the Texas Outlaw up -- Double Arm DDT! Jack makes the cover: One, Two, Three! Momentum for Cactus Jack headed into the Clash!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Cactus Jack p. Only 2.00 for the first minute and .99 each additional minute! Okerlund then introduces <strong>Brian Pillman</strong> as his special guest tonight. Pillman comes walking calmly down to the interview area and the focus of the interview turns quickly to his match with Steve Austin at Clash of the Champions.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Brian Pillman:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Stunning Steve, we are just a few days away from my gaining my final revenge against you at the Clash of the Champions. These two men trade moves back and forth early on in the match until Malenko takes control following a tilt-a-whirl suplex. Much to the happiness of Jesse Ventura at ringside, Malenko continues this momentum well into the match. He takes Badd down with a dropkick in the corner. Then he shows some power when he lifts Badd up and drops him with a power bomb! He holds onto the legs and twists Badd around -- Texas Cloverleaf! Malenko sits into it and within moments Badd submits!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Dean Malenko d. Johnny B. Hogan is shown working out on several different weight machines. He is shown lifting weights and then he is shown in the ring sparring with none other than <strong>George Foreman</strong>! During all these times, Hogan's knee is shown braced up and his ribs are taped after the attacks last week and the week before. Following the sparring session, Hogan looks toward the camera.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hulk Hogan:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Ric Flair, you may be trying to keep me out of shape for our match at the Clash, but I am in the best shape of my career, brother. Shamrock brings Wright down with a backbreaker. Shamrock stands and looks to the crowd, seeing a sign in the audience: 'GRACIE OWNS SHAMROCK!!!' This drives Shamrock insane! Shamrock picks up Wright and throws him overhead with a belly-to-belly suplex. He approaches Wright and grabs the ankle -- Ankle Lock! The two men swinging chairs step into view of the camera. Eric Bischoff identifies them as <strong>The Sheepherders</strong>! <strong>Butch Miller</strong> and <strong>Luke Williams</strong> continue an assault on The Rock 'N' Roll Express. Ricky Morton is lifted up and dropped with a double gutbuster. Morton lies on the ground, crying out in pain. Early on, the match devolves into a brawl featuring all six men. The team of Anderson, Rhodes and Brad Armstrong take control during that early brawl, sending all three other wrestlers outside the ring. Brad Armstrong takes a high risk when he leaps through the ropes, taking out all three members of Harlem Heat and Brian Armstrong with a suicide dive. The match returns to the ring and Dustin Rhodes gets stuck in the corner of Harlem Heat and Brian Armstrong. Heat and Brian make frequent tags in and out, using double and even triple team moves on Rhodes but Rhodes continues to kick out. Rhodes is sent into a corner and Booker T whips Stevie Ray into the corner -- Rhodes moves out of the way! Ray hits the corner hard and Rhodes crawls toward the corner. Rhodes makes the tag and in comes Brad Armstrong! Brad throws punches and dropkicks and armdrags to all three members of the opposing team. Just like in the beginning, things devolve down to chaos as all six men fight both in and outside the ring. Brian and Brad Armstrong are left inside the ring. Brian avoids a dropkick by his brother and rolls him up. He slides his feet on the ropes: One, Two, Three! That man is 'Captivating' <strong>Chris Candido</strong> along with his manager <strong>Tammy Lynn Sytch</strong>. Candido enters the ring, smiling and posing for a few moments. Candido is handed a microphone by Sytch.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Chris Candido:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"First of all, what I would like to have right now is for all you fat, out-of-shape, Portland Oregon sweathogs is to keep the noise down while I take my robe off and show each and every one of you what a real man is supposed to look like. The crowd actually get into this match as they wonder if they are going to see new tag team champions tonight. The matchup is fairly even between these two teams with Pretty Wonderful holding their own against the all-star team of Sting and Rick Martel. As a matter of fact, Paul Roma scores a near fall on Martel following his top rope splash but Sting came in and broke up the pinfall. Fans work on their support of the team of Sting and Rick Martel, one raising a sign that reads: 'Arrogant Franchises!' Sting receives a hot tag from Martel and comes in with fists flying on both Orndorff and Roma. He sends Orndorff and Roma to opposite corners and nails both of them with the Stinger Splash! The crowd goes wild. Perhaps it's Scorpion Deathlock time? No, Orndorff and Roma roll out of the ring and grab their World Tag Team title belts. They shake their head, saying they've had enough. The two men back up the ramp and the referee has no choice but to count them out.</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Sting and Rick Martel d. A fan raises a sign that reads: 'That shot was not Wonderful!' The team known as Pretty Wonderful are backing up the ramp but what they don't realize is that there is someone waiting for them at the top of the ramp. That someone is <strong>Cactus Jack</strong>! Jack is not alone, though. He has a shovel in his right hand! Orndorff and Roma do a slow-turn to face off with Cactus Jack. Jack swings and connects with Roma on the side of the head! Roma goes down and Orndorff continues to back off. Jack stalks Orndorff all the way to the ring. Orndorff slides in the ring and Jack follows him but Orndorff puts the boots to Jack. Jack fights through it and manages to kick Orndorff in the gut -- Double Arm DDT! Jack smiles through the gap in his teeth and exits the ring. He reaches underneath the ring and pulls out...a bag?!?! He enters the ring and there appears to be something alive inside the bag. Something appears to be moving! Jack slowly opens the bag and empties the contents on top of Orndorff -- a toy snake?!?! The toy snake slithers all over Orndorff and Jack gives a 'Bang, Bang!' before he exits the ring. Could this be a preview of the Clash?</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match 6</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36189" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/GregValentine.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/VS.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/TerryFunk.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine vs. Terry Funk</span></strong></p><p> Our semi main event features two solid veterans of the ring as Greg Valentine, the second generation wrestler, faces off against another second generation wrestler in Terry Funk. This match is as much a technical match as it is a brawl. These two men know what they are doing in the ring and it shows, despite their two advanced ages. Valentine goes for a Figure 4 Leglock but Funk reverses it into a rollup: One, Two, Kickout! Valentine goes for a Piledriver but Funk reverses it with a back body drop. Both men lay flat on the canvas, slowly pushing their way to their feet. The match moves into more of a fight than a technical contest late in the bout. Funk throws punches and then a discus clothesline. Funk picks up Valentine and lands a hard brainbuster on the mat before grabbing the legs of The Hammer and hooking him into the Spinning Toe Hold! Valentine calls for the submission within thirty seconds.</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Terry Funk d. Instead, it's the music of the man they call <strong>Vader</strong> and out comes the Mastadon! Vader is met at ringside by Funk and punches are thrown by both men! Vader starts to get the advantage and shoves Funk back against the ring post. Vader charges but Funk ducks out of the way and Vader slams shoulder-first into the ring post! Funk goes right back on the assault with punches to that same shoulder that hit the ring post. Vader shoves him away with his good arm. Funk charges in again and Vader throws him right into the ring post face-first! Funk drops to the ground in a lot of pain and Vader stands above him. Vader runs his thumb across his throat but before he can do anything more officials and security teams come down and stop the action.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match 7</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36189" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/RicFlair.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/VS.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/BrianPillman.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair vs. 'Flyin' Brian Pillman</span></strong></p><p> Our main event here in Portland, Oregon features the number one contender to the WCW World Heavyweight title against the number one contender to the WCW United States title. The match opens with Flair playing a little cat and mouse with Pillman. He uses quick rope breaks and a few struts to get into the head of Pillman. Within moments, a chop-fest breaks out between these two men when Flair locks Pillman in a corner and begins chopping away at him. Pillman fires back with chops of his own. Pillman adds punches to the chops and Flair flops onto the mat, quickly escaping the ring. Pillman shows off his agility when he leaps over the top rope landing on the apron. Flair is focused on the right knee, which is not a surprise, given Flair's finishing hold of the Figure 4 Leglock. He lays Pillman's knee on the bottom rope and drops down on it with Pillman grabbing his leg in pain. Flair struts, drawing in some boos from the crowd here in Portland. Flair's first attempt at a Figure 4 Leglock is met with a rollup by Pillman: One, Two, Kickout! Flair goes right back in control, spending the next several minutes in control and working over the knee of Pillman. This also cuts down on Pillman's aerial tactics. Flair sends Pillman to the mat with a body slam and then bounces off the ropes -- running diving knee drop! Flair makes a cover: One, Two, Kickout! The action spills outside the ring where Flair has a definite advantage, being the dirtiest player in the game. Flair chops Pillman and then whips him toward the ring post -- reversed! Pillman sends Flair into the ring post and then enters the ring as the referee counts. Flair barely beats the count back inside the ring. Pillman picks up Flair and whips him toward a corner, Flair flips up and over the corner. Flair runs along the apron and climbs the turnbuckles but Pillman's there to catch him. Flyin' Brian sends Flair down to the mat with a body slam off the top turnbuckle. Pillman gets momentum from the crowd and climbs outside the ring, setting up for Air Pillman. He grabs Pillman and moves him toward the center of the ring. Flair yanks on the knee and then hooks on the Figure 4 Leglock. The crowd boos and tries to show support for Pillman to break the hold. It's time for WCW's Clash of the Champions! What an amazing show we have for you from top to bottom on Wednesday night.</span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Prediction Key:

20 Minute Time Limit Match

Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat vs. 'The WCW Franchise' Sting

Comment: I wanted to say draw since more matches with an announced time limit end in a draw...but I'm with everyone else on Martel. I expect him to help Sting win here though without Sting realizing it.

The Sheepherders vs. The Rock 'N' Roll Express

Comment: They just returned.

Brian Armstrong vs. Brad Armstrong

Comment: Brad is criminally underrated, and BG has been getting him lately, so I think Badstreet gets the win here and a little redemption

WCW World Television Title Match

15 Minute Time Limit Match

Lord Steven Regal defends vs. Sgt. Slaughter

Comment: Regal is god and should be treated as such.

Submissions Match

'The Iceman' Dean Malenko vs. Rick Martel

Comment: I love Stinko Malenko and can't stand Martel.

'The Man They Call' Vader vs. Terry Funk

Comment: Really not sure why...

Comments On Previous Show: I don't really follow along as much as I'd like, but I enjoyed the last show a lot. A little bummed Alex Wright got destroyed, but Shamrock has the star quality, so hopefully you can raise him up pretty high.

RUMOR: Hulk Hogan Up To Old Ways!

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/HulkHogan.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/EricBischoff.jpg

Rumor has it that
Hulk Hogan
has decided to use his creative control clause to ensure that he does not lose to
Ric Flair
at
Clash Of The Champions
.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this reporter has learned from an inside source within the company, one that spoke on the condition of anonymity, that
Eric Bischoff
has flown down to Tampa, Florida to speak with Hulk Hogan mere days before the Clash of the Champions to discuss rewriting the planned finish of the show. According to our source, the original plan was to have Ric Flair win the match by count-out. However, apparently, Hulk Hogan has decided that the finish was not good enough despite the fact that he would not be losing the WCW World Title. Neither Hulk Hogan or Eric Bischoff has answered our attempts to contact them.

Hulk Hogan was known for his many backstage shenanigans within the World Wrestling Federation during the 1980's. He would have Vince McMahon scrambling to see him whenever it was necessary. However, this is the first time that a true creative control clause has been put in writing in contract terms. No one knows for sure exactly what will happen at the Clash of the Champions, however. But if rumors are true, Eric Bischoff cannot be happy about this turn of events.

<strong>'The Man They Call' Vader </strong>vs. Terry Funk</p><p>

Comments On Previous Show: Just read through and love it. I loved WCW around this time although I gotta admit, I'm bummed you got rid of Kevin Sullivan. When I was a kid, he was the ultimate heel. Heck, that was the only time I didn't hate Hogan. I was also 6... So yeah. But love it. Great writing. Your interviews are REALLY good - something alot of RL writers miss the mark with but I feel like I'm reading a WCW 94 transcript. KUTGW</p>

WCW CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS

Match 1: 20 Minute Time Limit Match

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/RickySteamboat.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/VS.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/Sting.jpg

Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat vs. 'The WCW Franchise' Sting

WCW Clash of the Champions opens with the entrance of 'The Dragon' Ricky Steamboat and then his opponent 'The WCW Franchise' Sting. The two men meet in the center of the ring at the sound of the opening bell and shake hands. Despite the time limit, the match starts off rather slow with both men not wanting to make that first mistake that turns the momentum of the match. Steamboat takes the first risk when Sting is sent outside the ring and he climbs the turnbuckles. He leaps and connects with a double axehandle on the man called Sting outside the ring. The match moves quickly back inside the ring where Steamboat brings Sting down with a standing dropkick and then goes for the chicken wing. He stretches Sting out but Sting refuses to submit. Sting manages to reverse the hold into a roll-up: One, Two, Kickout! The match continues to move back and forth, with each man gaining control for short bursts of time as we move closer and closer to the time limit being reached. Steamboat gains some momentum and brings Sting down with a body slam before heading to the top turnbuckle. Steamboat prepares and then leaps -- Sting catches Steamboat with a dropkick! Steamboat had gone for the flying cross body but Sting reversed it with a dropkick. He pulls himself to his feet as Steamboat yanks himself up in a corner. Sting charges and nails Steamboat with a Stinger Splash! Steamboat falls to the mat as we reach one minute remaining. Sting grabs the legs of Steamboat -- Scorpion Deathlock! Sting locks in his finisher and Steamboat cries out in pain. He shakes his head as referee Tommy Young asks him if he gives up. The crowd counts along with the time limit as we reach ten seconds left. Sting leans back, stretching Steamboat in the Scorpion Deathlock. Steamboat struggles with the pain and suddenly the bell rings.

A Show Of Respect

As the bell rings, Sting releases the hold on Ricky Steamboat and raises his hand in victory, believing that Steamboat has given up. Referee Tommy Young approaches Sting and lowers his arm down. He explains to Sting that the time limit ran out and there is no winner in this match. Steamboat grabs the middle rope, pulling himself to his feet. The two men look at each other from across the ring in a tense staredown before Steamboat offers a handshake to Sting. The two men look at each other and Sting accepts! The two men embrace in the center of the ring and then head to the back together. What respect shown by two top athletes here in WCW.

The Sheepherders vs. The Rock 'N' Roll Express

Our second match of the evening is definitely a different type of match than the first contest. This match was more of a brawl between two teams that are definitely not happy with each other. Ricky Morton gets stuck in the corner of the Sheepherders and Luke Williams and Butch Miller continually double-teamed him. They send Morton outside the ring and Luke sends Morton into the ring steps. Williams shouts at the audience, threatening a fan in the front row. The action returns to the ring where The Sheepherders go for a double gutbuster but Morton lands on his feet. Morton takes them both down with a double clothesline and crawls toward his corner. Morton tags in Gibson and Robert Gibson comes in with punches and clotheslines to both Sheepherders. The match breaks down into a four man brawl with Gibson battling with Butch Miller and Morton battling with Williams. Gibson catches Miller with an enzuigiri and Miller rolls out of the ring. Williams is set up in the center of the ring and caught with a double dropkick by the Rock 'N' Roll Express! Gibson goes for the cover but he gets nailed in the back by a chair by Miller! The referee calls for the bell immediately.

Arriba...BANG!

One of the newest arrivals to WCW, Tito Santana is shown backstage. He is walking down a hallway when he turns and bending over a few feet in front of him is Diamond Doll. Doll slowly turns her head and looks toward Santana, offering him a smile. Santana smiles back toward her before someone else steps between them. That man is Diamond Dallas Page. DDP laughs, pulling a cigar from between his teeth.

Diamond Dallas Page: "She's looking good, huh?"

Tito Santana: "Yeah, I guess."

Diamond Dallas Page: "I have an opening for the Diamond Doll Challenge this Saturday Night. What do you say you try to win a night with my Doll?"

Tito Santana: "You're on, Dallas. Arriba!"

Diamond Dallas Page: "Arriba? Get ready to feel the BANG...loser."

DDP slaps Santana and Santana throws a punch back to DDP! Santana ducks a punch and slams DDP against the wall. A couple of kidney shots are given by Santana before he walks off, leaving a fuming DDP to be helped up by the Diamond Doll.

Brian Armstrong vs. Brad Armstrong

The battle of the brothers continues here at the Clash of the Champions as Brian and Brad go one on one. This is a fast-paced match between the two men who are learning to let go when doing battle with one another. Brian shows a more vicious side when he slams his brother's head against the ring post and then shoves him back inside the ring. Brian plays to a booing crowd before he picks up Brad. Only a little over six minutes into the match, Brad surprises Brian with a small package: One, Two, Three.

Never Gonna Die!

Following that contest, we are brought backstage here in the Greensboro Coliseum where the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan is shown getting looked at by doctors to make sure he is ready for the match later on tonight. Hogan has a knee brace on and his ribs are still taped up. He looks up toward the camera.

Hulk Hogan: "Let me tell you something, brothers. We are just a short amount of time away from me stepping back into the ring with that dirty little snake Ric Flair for my title belt. Ric, brother, I proved last month that I am the better man than you. I pinned you one, two, three in the middle of the ring for this belt. Tonight here at the Clash there's not going to be anything different that happens. I leave you with a major question, brother. Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when the power of these pythons and the power of Hulkamania runs wild over you?!?!"

Hulk flexes for a moment and then cringes, grabbing his knee. He is not one hundred percent but can he get the win tonight?

Match 4: WCW World Television Title Match, 15 Minute Time Limit Match

Lord Steven Regal defends vs. Sgt. Slaughter

Our very first title match here at the Clash of the Champions as Lord Steven Regal takes on Sgt. Slaughter for the WCW World Television Title. The crowd is definitely on the side of Slaughter as USA chants fill the arena. The match shows some great action as both sides get in their hits and signature moves like Regal striking Slaughter with European Uppercuts and Slaughter catching Regal with a Slaughter Cannon lariat. There is scattered interference in this match by Sir William from ringside. Slaughter begins getting control toward the thirteen minute mark. He brings Regal down with a gutbuster and then locks on the Cobra Clutch! Regal calls out his submission but Brady Boone doesn't call for the bell. Instead, he ignores what is going on in the ring with the Cobra Clutch and waits until the time limit expires and the bell sounds for the time limit.

Former Champion Prepared To Regain The Gold

We move from the ring to the backstage area once again. This time, we have the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair standing within a locker room area. Behind him is a bucket set up with champagne in ice. Flair is dressed in a blue and white sequined robe and turns his attention to the camera.

Ric Flair: "Hulk Whoooo Hogan. We are in Greensboro, North Carolina. Do you know what this is? This is Ric Flair Country, Brother! Whooooo. And someone told me that there's a party going on here tonight. Actually, it's more of a celebration or a liberation, really. After the night is over here on pay-per-view I am going to be liberating the WCW World Heavyweight Title from Hulk Hogan and putting it around the waist of an actual wrestler. Hulk Hogan, tonight, when you walk that aisle, you're going to know and everyone here in Greensboro is going to know, that I am the man. And to be the man, you have to beat the man, Hulk. You got lucky last month but tonight is going to be different. Tonight, this limousine riding, jet flying, kiss stealing, wheeling, dealing son of a gun is going to prove that I am just that much better than you. Whoooooooooooo!"

Flair turns and pours himself a glass of champagne as he prepares for the match later on tonight with Hulk Hogan. It's time to head back to the ring for our next match!

Match 5: Submissions Match

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/DeanMalenko.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/JesseVentura.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/VS.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/RickMartel.jpg

'The Iceman' Dean Malenko vs. Rick Martel

This is a technical match that many fans were looking forward to as the winner would be the first man to make his opponent submit. The two men put on a clinic in the ring that has the fans on the edge of their seats as many submission moves are put in place during the match. Malenko catches Martel with a brainbuster in the center of the ring and then hooks on a kneebar. Martel calls out in pain but refuses to give up due to the kneebar. Malenko eventually releases the hold but he continues to be on the attack on Martel. The finish comes around the ten minute mark of the match. Malenko lifts Martel and plants him with a power bomb before twisting it around in the Texas Cloverleaf. Martel refuses to submit and uses his veteran instincts and power to twist the hold around and reverse the Texas Cloverleaf into the Quebec Crab! Martel leans back in his finishing hold as the Iceman Malenko shows no emotion but is forced to give up.

Lionheart Has Arrived!

When the ring clears, some definitely unfamiliar music begins to play. The crowd rise on their feet to see just who this is going to be coming out to the ring. Walking confidently, arrogantly out to the ring is the man identified by the announcers as new WCW signing Chris Jericho! They talk about his father being a famous hockey player as he enters the ring and has a microphone in hand.

Chris Jericho: "Welcome everyone to Clash of the Jericho! For those of you who don't know who I am, I am the Ayatollah of Rock and Roll-a! I am the man who has come to WCW to save you from the mediocrity that you have seen time and time again in this promotion. You have been led to believe that mediocrity is greatness but oh no no. Jericho is greatness. You can call me lionheart because I have the heart of a lion. I will never give up. I will give each and every one of you what you deserve. You see what you've been seeing here in WCW has been one old man attacking another old man. One old team attacking another old team. I watched a lot of these wrestlers as I was growing up. But now it's time for me to put men like Hulk Hogan out to pasture. My name is Chris Jericho and you have just been saved."

Jericho poses for the crowd, drawing in more and more boos. He drops the microphone and heads toward the back as we head to a hype video.

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/Vader.jpg

Domination Is Obvious

This hype video features the domination that has been the man they call Vader. He has been tearing through opponent after opponent within the last couple of months. Men like The Guardian Angel. Men like Jim Duggan. They have all fallen at the hands of Vader and have yet to be seen again. The next man stepping into the ring with Vader? Terry Funk! Highlights of their confrontations are shown before we head back to the ring.

Match 6

'The Man They Call' Vader vs. Terry Funk

And inside the ring we have a major brawl between the man they call Vader and the legend in Terry Funk. Much as anyone would expect, this is a hard-hitting match between two tough men who don't back down from anyone. Funk, surprisingly, holds his own against Vader in the ring and actually manages to bring Vader down to the mat. Funk shocks the world by going to the top turnbuckle. He has a hard time getting his balance but he leaps and hits Vader with a top rope splash! He hooks a leg: One, Two, Kickout that sends Funk flying across the ring. Vader pulls himself up and manages to dump Funk outside the ring. Vader follows him out and whips Funk into the guardrail. Vader charges, going for a splash on Funk against the guardrail but Funk moves and Vader goes over the guardrail and into the front row! A fan in that front row holds up a sign reading: 'Feel the Earth Quake!!' Funk follows Vader over the guardrail and throws punches. Vader fires back with forearm shots and then clotheslines Funk back to ringside. Vader poses, shouting out 'Who's the man?' and 'It's Vader Time!' As Vader climbs back to ringside, he looks up toward the referee who calls for the bell. Both men have been counted out!

Surprise Attack

The screen fades to black and then to focus on a pair of bare legs. The camera slowly pans up those legs to reveal the backside of Tammy Lynn Sytch as she bends over a table. The rest of her is revealed as the camera zooms out, showing her smiling toward none other than Ricky Steamboat. Steamboat is settled at the table, wearing street clothes since his match is already over and has been for awhile. Sytch gives Steamboat a flirting smile, keeping him distracted as a man walks up behind him. That man is Chris Candido. Candido immediately assaults Steamboat from behind. He picks him up and sends him face-first into a wall. He hooks him in a vertical suplex motion, lifting Steamboat up and shocking the wrestling world by sending Steamboat through the table with a suplex! Candido gets to his feet and looks down at Steamboat. Sytch clings onto Candido and he picks her up in his arms, carrying her away from the scene as EMTs come out.

Mystery Partner Is A Snake

We go back to the ringside area where Pretty Wonderful is waiting inside the ring to find out just who their opponents will be. Cactus Jack comes out first with a smile and a 'Bang Bang' salute. He motions toward the back and the crowd is shocked when out comes none other than Jake 'The Snake' Roberts! Roberts has a large bag over his shoulder and he walks right down toward the ring, stepping inside and looking across toward Paul Roma and Paul Orndorff. What a match this should be!

Pretty Wonderful defends vs. Cactus Jack and Jake Roberts

Our next title defense this evening as Cactus Jack and Jake Roberts team up to take on Pretty Wonderful for the World Tag Team Titles. Cactus Jack is looking for revenge in this contest so he goes right across toward both members of Pretty Wonderful. This opens things up in a pier six brawl with all four wrestlers going at it. Pretty soon, as the action settles down, Cactus Jack is stuck in the wrong corner and gets frequently double-teamed by Paul Roma and Paul Orndorff. He is event sent outside the ring and slammed into the ring post and the steel steps. The crowd boos, calling for Jake 'The Snake' as The Snake stands on the apron. Roma and Orndorff are definitely aware of that bag in the corner and stay away from it as much as possible. Orndorff and Roma go for multiple pinfalls but cannot seem to keep Jack down. Roma yells at a fan in the audience who is holding up a sign reading: 'Pretty WORTHLESS!' The momentum shifts when Roma goes for a back body drop but Jack reverses it into a swinging neckbreaker. Both men crawl to their corners and each of them make tags! In comes Paul Orndorff and Jake Roberts! The crowd pops as the two men come face to face. Roberts tells Orndorff to wait a moment and begins to help Cactus Jack to his feet -- DDT! Roberts snaps a DDT on Cactus Jack! He rolls Jack to the apron and makes a tag before he exits the ring. The crowd boos this sneak attack! Orndorff grabs Jack and pulls him into the ring, making the cover: One, Two, Three!

Never Trust A Snake

Paul Orndorff and Paul Roma are still the WCW World Tag Team Champions. However, the bigger story is the betrayal of Jake Roberts to Cactus Jack, costing them this match and those tag team titles. Roberts slides back inside the ring, looking down at the fallen Cactus Jack. Roberts gives that devilish smile before he turns and grabs his snake bag. He unhooks it and empties out the large snake down on top of Cactus Jack! Roberts laughs as he stands over Cactus Jack before slithering out of the ring.

'Stunning' Steve Austin defends vs. 'Flyin' Brian Pillman

Nick Bockwinkel is the first man to enter the ring, the special guest referee for this contest between Steve Austin and Brian Pillman. A staredown at the beginning leads to a fan holding up a sign reading: 'Hollywood Blonds!' These two men definitely do not like each other but it is obvious that Nick Bockwinkel is looking to cost Austin the U.S. Title. At one point, Austin hits a Lou Thesz press on Pillman and begins to throw punches but he gets stopped by Bockwinkel, who threatens to disqualify Austin for the closed fist. Pillman comes back and catches Austin with a Tornado DDT! He makes a cover: OneTwoShoulderUp! Definitely a quick count by Bockwinkel but Austin gets the shoulder up. Around the eleven minute mark, Austin goes for a spear on Pillman but Pillman moves and Austin takes out Nick Bockwinkel! The referee is down and Pillman exits the ring. He waits for Austin to turn toward him and hits Air Pillman! The springboard clothesline has won many matches for Pillman. Pillman makes a cover but there is no referee! After what would have been a count of six, Pillman gets up and begins shaking Bockwinkel to try and wake him up. Austin rolls out of the ring and grabs the U.S. Title belt! Austin slides back in the ring and waits for Pillman to turn -- WHAM! He nails Pillman over the skull with the title belt! Austin slides the belt out of the ring and rolls up Pillman. Into the ring comes Brady Boone! Austin holds the tights of Pillman for extra leverage: One, Two, Three!

Beating The Odds

Referee Brady Boone calls for the bell, awarding the match and a retaining of the title to Steve Austin. Stunning Steve smiles as he exits the ring with the belt, backing up the aisle. Nick Bockwinkel is slowly recovering in the ring and slowly begins to realize what happened. Bockwinkel is FURIOUS in the ring! Brian Pillman is slowly recovering from the belt shot to the skull. Pillman and Bockwinkel are upset in the ring but Austin disappears to the back before anything can be changed.

Harlem Heat vs. 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson and 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes

Our semi main event here at the Clash of the Champions features two of the top tag teams in WCW. A win here will definitely elevate one team or the other to a shot at the World Tag Team Titles. Anderson and Rhodes start out the match strong, with quick tags in and out. Anderson is a tag team specialist and it shows in this match, especially in the early goings. Double team moves by Anderson and Rhodes are frequent in the first few minutes before Anderson gets caught in the wrong corner. Booker T and Stevie Ray turn the double teams around on Anderson, including some cheating moves as they choke Anderson behind the referee's back, enticing Rhodes into the ring to get the referee's attention. Booker T takes Arn Anderson down with a uranage and makes the cover: One, Two, Kickout! The match continues and around the seven minute mark Anderson begins making his comeback on Stevie Ray. He lifts the larger man into a back suplex following a reverse chinlock by Ray on Anderson. Both men crawl toward their corners. Terri Rhodes, at ringside, cheers on Anderson and he tags in her husband Dustin Rhodes! Stevie Ray does not yet make the tag, instead choosing to try to fight Dustin Rhodes himself. Rhodes ducks a big boot and then throws punches to Stevie Ray! Booker T gets some punches too by Arn Anderson! All four men do battle in the ring! Rhodes catches Stevie Ray with a running bulldog! Rhodes looks to make a cover but something happens at ringside. An unknown man has come down to ringside and grabbed Terri Rhodes! Dustin sees this and his eyes go wide. Dustin goes to the ropes, yelling at this unknown man to let Terri go. From behind, Dustin gets hit with a low blow by Stevie Ray. The referee is pulling Arn Anderson back to the apron as Stevie Ray sets Rhodes up on his shoulders. He tags in Booker T -- Heat Seeker connects! Booker T makes the cover on Rhodes: One, Two, Three!

Hype For Main Event

A hype video begins to play for our main event this evening. The video focuses on the WCW history between Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. Everything is shown, from the ticker-tape parade for Hulk Hogan, to Ric Flair employing Avalanche to attack Hogan again and again. One month ago, Hulk Hogan won the WCW World Heavyweight Title from Ric Flair. Can Hogan hold onto the gold tonight?

'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan defends vs. 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair

The main event of the night tonight features two legends of professional wrestling. '2001' plays first and out from the back comes 'The Nature Boy.' Flair looks resplendent, as he always does, in his $5,000 robe. He enters the ring with all the confidence that he always has. Then 'American Made' draws a mixture of cheers and boos from the crowd. As Flair said earlier, this is Ric Flair Country here in Greensboro. But it's also Hulk Hogan Country as 'The Immortal' high fives the fans on the way to the ring. When the bell sounds, the two men come face-to-face in the middle of the ring. Flair tries to shove Hogan backward but Hogan doesn't even flinch. Flair tries again and then he slaps Hogan! Hogan shoves Flair across the ring and Flair ends up in a corner. He picks himself up and releases a 'Whooooo' as he is still the confident Nature Boy. Hogan continues in control the first few minutes, including a test of strength that definitely goes Hogan's way.

Eric Bischoff: "Hulk Hogan is in total control here. Though the fans aren't sure who they are rooting for."

The momentum turns when Flair manages a chop block to the knee of Hogan, bringing him down. Flair drags Hogan over to a corner and wraps Hogan's knee around the ring post. Hogan cries out in pain, clutching his knee. Flair pulls Hogan out of the ring and slams him head-first into the guardrail before he grabs a chair. He tosses the chair into the ring, grabbing the referee's attention. As the referee is distracted getting rid of the chair, Flair grabs the cable from the cameraman, choking Hogan outside the ring with the cable! He releases before the referee can see it and tosses Hogan back into the ring. He joins him inside the ring and bounces off the ropes -- diving knee drop! Flair makes the cover: One, Two, Shoulder Up! Flair argues with the referee for a moment and then turns his attention back to Hogan. He yanks on the knee of Hogan and then places it on the bottom rope. He leaps and brings his full weight down on the knee of Hulk Hogan. The crowd is a mixture of boos and cheers as Flair gives a 'Whooooooo!' Flair continues his own momentum for several more minutes. Hogan tries to fight back again and again but Flair puts him down, using things like chops to the chest and a shinbreaker, among other moves. Around the nineteen minute mark of the match, Flair lifts Hogan's legs and hooks on the Figure 4 Leglock!

Bobby Heenan: "YES! This is it! The end of Hulkamania right here! Ric Flair is going to break Hulk Hogan's knee!"

Flair places his hands flat on the mat and raises up, putting more pressure on the hold. Hogan cries out in pain but shakes his head. He refuses to submit! He refuses to give up, despite the pain in his knee. Flair yells at Hogan to quit! He tells Hogan to just give up, that he's not deserving of the World Title! Flair reaches over and begins to slap Hogan! The insult of the slap seems to stir something in Hogan. He raises closed fists and shakes his head as his eyes go wide. He turns slowly, working, using his strength. Flair shakes his head, refusing to let Hogan turn the pressure. Hogan does not give up, though. He eventually gets the Figure 4 turned over! Flair quickly breaks the hold and then lifts Hogan into a corner quickly. Flair begins lighting up the chest of Hogan with chops but Hogan no-sells them! He shakes his head. He points at Flair! Flair shakes his head and drops to his knees to beg off! Hogan ignores the pleas, picking up Flair and throwing punches. He whips Flair into a corner and Flair flips up and over the corner! Flair runs along the apron and climbs the turnbuckles but Hogan is right there to body slam him to the mat. Flair backs up toward a corner, begging off. Again Hogan does not stop the forward momentum but this time he is met by a low blow by Flair. But it's right in front of the referee! Referee Tommy Young immediately calls for the bell.

The bell has sounded but Ric Flair is not done! Flair grabs Hulk Hogan and drops him with the shinbreaker before going for the Figure 4 Leglock. Hogan throws some punches, firing back on Flair! Flair comes back in with chops as Hogan begins the Hulk-Up! Hogan does the finger point toward Flair and then blocks a punch, throwing one of his own! Punch! Punch! Punch! Hogan whips Flair across the ring and catches him with a big boot. Hogan cups his ear to the mixed crowd before he bounces off the ropes -- Flair rolls out of the ring before Hogan can drop the leg. Flair looks up toward Hogan and the two men stare down as Flair exits to the back. Back in the ring, Hogan takes his WCW World Heavyweight Title belt and begins to pose to close out the show.

Oops, I missed the last prediction set. Solid show though, interested to see where Captivating Chris Candido goes, haha.

I understand missing a prediction set or two. It definitely happens. Glad you have enjoyed the shows, though. As shown at the Clash, there are definitely plans in store for 'Captivating' Chris Candido. :) Thanks for your predictions!

Brian Armstrong vs. Brad Armstrong

Comment: Brad is criminally underrated, and BG has been getting him lately, so I think Badstreet gets the win here and a little redemption

Comments On Previous Show: I don't really follow along as much as I'd like, but I enjoyed the last show a lot. A little bummed Alex Wright got destroyed, but Shamrock has the star quality, so hopefully you can raise him up pretty high.

Brad is definitely underrated. Part of that whole Armstrong Family Curse. But I enjoy all the Armstrongs and think they made a definite good part of WCW during this time.

Am glad you enjoyed the last show before the Clash. I understand the whole Alex Wright thing but he was the best I could choose to really get Shamrock over, in my opinion. Hopefully, I can do more with Shamrock than even the WWF did in real life.

Comments On Previous Show: OH GOD NO NOT THE SHEEPHERDERS

I knew that there would be some protest against the Sheepherders becoming part of WCW here due to their stint as the Bushwhackers. But I am hoping to bring back out the true Sheepherders. Forget the Bushwhackers as they were in the WWF.

WCW World Heavyweight Title Match

'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan defends vs. 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair

Comment: I think your story was a plant. Or I'm horribly wrong.

KUTGW

Unfortunately, the story was not a plant. A little of me venting some frustration due to the whole creative control clause.

I am so glad that you enjoyed the diary so far. I semi-pride myself on the writing of the interviews and trying to get the right voices for the wrestlers. I watch some youtube videos at times. I try to do whatever it takes to make this feel like a true 94 diary with my take on it.

As far as Kevin Sullivan goes, it really was a case of me not having anything for him in the immediate future. This does not say that I won't bring him back later on if I have a role for him, though.

Prediction Key:

Diamond Doll Challenge

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Tito Santana

Comment: I think since he was actually given a spotlight to shine, Tito could be the one.

Harlem Heat vs. Johnny B. Badd and Marty Jannetty

Comment: Just a quick match to put the Heat over more.

Big T vs. 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes

Comment: Can't see Ahmed being quite at Dustin's level, but I could be wrong.

'The Iceman' Dean Malenko vs. 'Latino Heat' Eddie Guerrero

Comment: Unless Eddy is gonna have something to do soon, Dean will take this one just to get some momentum up.

'The All-American' Ron Simmons vs. 'Jumping' Jim Brunzell

Comment: He's gonna squish the bee.

WCW United States Title Match

'Stunning' Steve Austin defends vs. A Wrestler Of Nick Bockwinkel's Choice

Comment: Austin will retain for a little while yet.

'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair and Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine vs. 'The WCW Franchise' Sting and Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat

Comment: Valentine is the weak link in this one.

Fun Fan Signs: Cheatamania

Comments On Previous Show: A lot of disqualifications went down, but overall a great written show. It served the purpose that the Clash always did, which was further storylines between the pay-per-views. Interested to see where you're going with the end of the main event.

So, a large portion of last night was spent resetting my computer back to factory specs due to some BSOD issues that I had (am going to buy a new computer in a month or two). With that being said, I did not save any of my save-games to a flash drive or e-mail or anything like that so I have lost the games that I have been playing, not to mention the word-pads/note-pads that I have used to chronicle what has been happening within the game, the roster listing, shows, etc. So that is where I am at right now with my two diary games. I have to make a decision on where I want to go from here. If nothing else, I will post something showing where I was headed from memory.

You could always re-book based on the diary and start again from there if you were ahead...but obviously that's a lot of work and annoying if you aren't 100% into this diary. I'm sure that whatever you choose is gonna be good, and I'll definitely be into future diaries of yours whether it's '94 WCW or not.</p>
