Deltoidius
i think it would be a lot better if it was re-worked so that, during the first season in a game, the player has the ability to recruit and hire the coaching staff before playing the games. i don't like starting with crappy assistants and having no 'feel' for any of the players on the team. Cooleyvol
........and you think recruiting would help you come to know the entire team, not just the incoming freshmen? Just quicksim to the recruiting of season 1 and begin there. Problem solved.
Wolfpack
I don't care much about recruiting before I take over, but coming in and being forced to keep the same assistants as the previous coach is pretty silly. I would be happy to just be able to look for coaches.
govols
I would agree with the coaches.. The new head coach almost always gets to hire his assistants. Recruiting on the other hand. Most of the time first year coaches have little effect on recruits. Many have already commited to other teams by the time a coach gets hired. Grunthos
I'm ambivalent about recruiting first or playing the season first. But the assistant hiring/firing when I first start is a necessity. Yes, I can (and do) sim through the first season, but since Arlie has no mechanism in this game for starting unemployed, those games count on my record... I find this rather annoying. Deltoidius
seems like the community (at least this small sample) is pretty heavily in favor of these pre-season changes, especially the assistant coaches.
BYU 14
I also really don't care about recruiting, but being able to hire your own Coaches before the Season is a must for me.
NIUHuskies
Hiring coaches at start of a new game...Yes (alwyas happens...New HC = unemployed asst.) Recruting at start of new game...No (like someone stated, not realistic)
Alstott
i'd be happier if i could recruit but i agree that we should defnitely be able to dump the coaches if neccessary, especially since they're mostly below average on normal prestiged teams... WVHokies
I would be in favor of being able to hire my own coaches as well. That's typical, you take your own guys with you unless hiring form within.
NIUHuskies
Even if you hire from within, a new Head Coach still decides his coaching staff. Just because the new HC came from within, doesnt mean he agrees with the current coaching staffs philosophy. Plus, if he was hired from inside, he would still have to find his replacement.
