Bret Hart in particular struggles to cope, being thrown pillar to post by Barbarian and Haku who work well as a team throughout pulling out the traditional heelish tactics from the book distracting the referee, and throwing in cheap shots. The Barbarian looks to finish the match off with a diving headbut,t but the Hitman rolls out of the way and tags in Neidhart. Neidhart comes in like an house on fire taking it to both men to the shock of Heenan on the outside turning the match on it’s head. The Hart Foundation look to finish off the match with The Hart Attack when The Nasty Boys interfere causing a disqualification. Winners: The Hart Foundation in 8:34 via disqualification Grade:76 Post match, The Nasty Boys, Barbarian and Haku team up to beat down The Hart Foundation when The Rockers run down to make the save. However the numbers game catches up and The Rockers are unable to do anything until The Big Bossman runs down to the ring. The Big Bossman with nightstick in hand is enough to send both The Nasty Boys and Barbarian and Haku to flee out of the ring. Big Bossman outraged by being stitched up by Heenan two weeks ago challenges Heenan to get into the ring but the Brain uses his brain to smartly leave. It’s the Undertaker who dominates the majority of the match however and he is able to get the decisive victory hitting Jimmy Snuka with a Tombstone Piledriver as Vince McMahon and Gorilla Monsoon are left wondering who can stop this man in the Royal Rumble match. Hogan comes out to a huge pop and he is asked for his feelings on this Sunday’s Rumble. Hogan: Mene Gene I won this match last year, but this year the stacks in my way are even bigger, the stakes are even bigger. The winner goes on to face the WWF Champion at Wrestlemania, and brother just like our boys in Iraq I am going to be chucking who ever gets in my face out of the way, in my case over the top rope and go onto Wrestle.... Hogan is cut when The Ultimate Warrior’s music hits and the WWF Champion comes out to a huge reaction and he walks on the stage and Mean Gene asks him why he has come out here. The Warrior starts off by wishing Hogan luck for the Royal Rumble before giving him a stern warning. Warrior: Hulk Hogan I know you would be as sick as me to see Sgt Slaughter walk out this Sunday with the WWF Championship. I know you want to get your hands on him. But this Sunday stay out of my way! You attack Slaughter and he is the champion. So you or anyone who dares to interfere my match and cost me my WWF Championship, I will come after you locked and loaded. Hulk you cost me my championship and you will feel the wrath of the Warrior! Hogan: Brother I understand your concerns, and brother your right I want to get my hands on Sergeant Slaughter, but I understand the stipulations and I won’t go after that lowlife this Sunday. However I’m not sure what the Macho King and Queen Sherri are thinking and if they interfere this Sunday, then brother I will be out there to make sure that they don’t cost you the championship. Roberts and Tornado worked better as a team making quick tags to keep the fresh man in the ring. Perfect and Martel on the other hand, their egos seemed to get in the way and this didn’t help Mr Perfect as he wanted to tag out so Martel could fend off Jake Roberts, but the model wanted nothing of the Snakeman. This changed however the referee was distracted by Texas Tornado allowing Martel to drop Roberts throat first over the top rope. In the latter stages of the match Roberts fought back against Mr Perfect when he was in a sleeperhold and he started going through the motions with the arm twist clothesline and then signalled for the DDT. But Rick Martel jumped into the ring and threw Roberts to the outside. Tornado then looked to go after Martel only for Perfect to knock him down. Roberts dragged Martel to the outside and they fought on one side of the ring as Mr Perfect and Texas Tornado fought on the other. In the end it was Roberts and Tornado who took the victory via a countout in all of the mayhem with Martel deciding he had enough and walking up the ramp leaving Roberts to assist Tornado on Mr Perfect and dropping him with a DDT and just making it back into the ring in time for Perfect to be counted out. Jake Roberts and Texas Tornado beat Mr Perfect and Rick Martel when Mr Perfect was counted out at 9:50 Grade:76 <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36307" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>We go to the backstage area where Sean Mooney is standing with The Big Bossman Bossman: Heenan you stitched me right good two weeks ago. You had me go face off with The Undertaker because you know your boys can’t cut the mustard, and then you had them attack me after the match. Well Heenan you say that your boys deserve better than being in the ring with me, but this Sunday at the Royal Rumble both me and your boys will be in it and they will be serving hard time at the hands of The Big Bossman. In the early going Slaughter struggles with a fiery Duggan who is about as aggressive as he has ever been. Duggan gets a bit too pumped up however as he wants to crack Slaughter over the head with a 2x4 which the referee prevents. As the referee goes to the put the 2x4 on the outside, Slaughter rakes the eyes of Duggan and throws him to the outside and Duggan lands awkwardly on his back and has an anguished look of pain on his face. Sgt Slaughter then shows an even more aggressive side to his game focusing on the back of Duggan, with Adnan distracting the referee Slaughter scoops Duggan up on the outside and rams him back first into the steel ring post. Slaughter moments later finishes Duggan off with the Cobra Clutch taking an impressive victory. Winner: Sgt Slaughter via submission at 8:08 with the Cobra Clutch Grade:74 After the match, Sgt Slaughter refuses to let go of Duggan and the referee tries to break it off but Slaughter refuses to let go. Two more referee’s run out to Duggan’s aid but Slaughter still refuses to let go and in fact his manager General Adnan passes him the Iraqi flag and Slaughter starts choking Duggan out in the cobra clutch with the Iraqi flag. Moments later the crowd goes crazy as The Ultimate Warrior runs out to the ring to make the save. Warrior goes after Slaughter with a series of hard right hands, but Warrior is distracted by General Adnan which gives Slaughter a split second to hightail it out of the ring. The Ultimate Warrior then waves the United States flag to end the show. The Hart Foundation started off brightly, mainly due to the speed of Bret Hart who attempted to outwrestle both Knobbs and Saggs. The Hart Foundation showed their tag team prowess making a series of quick tags and collecting a bunch of near falls. Bret Hart worked over the legs of Jerry Saggs and looked for the Sharpshooter only for Knobbs to pull Saggs to the outside. Saggs eventually tagged in Knobbs but it was more of the same for the Nasty Boys. The Nasty Boys eventually took control when Jimmy Hart had the referee distracted as Bret Hart bounced off the ropes and was clobbered from behind by the illegal man Jerry Saggs. The Nasty Boys slowed down the pace of the match dominating Bret with a variety of power manoeuvres. Bret nearly made the tag to Neidhart after dropping Saggs with a jawbreaker but Brian Knobbs ran in the ring to prevent him from doing so. Bret did though finally make the hot tag when Saggs and Knobbs collided. Neidhart came into the ring like a house on fire taking it to both of his opponents. Saggs and Knobbs like they did to the Hitman tried to play the number games but Knobbs and Saggs again collided when Neidhart ducked a clothesline attempt from Knobbs who instead took out his team mate. Bret Hart then entered the ring and the Hart Foundation nailed the Hart Attack onto Brian Knobbs and Neidhart made the count but Jimmy Hart again had the referee distracted. As the referee is distracted by a squabbling Bret and Jimmy hart, Jerry Saggs dropped Neidhart with a sidewalk slam. The ending of the match saw Bret Hart look to finish Jerry Saggs off with the Sharpshooter, but Saggs pushed him away into Brian Knobbs who catches him with a clothesline. Jim Neidhart rushed into the ring and took Knobbs to the outside with a barrage of hard right hands. As the referee is distracted by this, Jimmy Hart chucks the megaphone into the hands of Jerry Saggs. Saggs goes to hit Bret Hart with it, but Bret sees him coming and trips him up and locks on the Sharpshooter. Neidhart gets the better of Knobbs on the outside and the referee turns around at the right time to see Jerry Saggs give up to the submission hold. The Hart Foundation beat The Nasty Boys in 13:45 via submission when Bret Hart made Jerry Saggs submit to the Sharpshooter. The Hart Foundation make defence number 31 of their reign. The Nasty Boys though aren’t pleased with the outcome and they take to the ring one more time putting a beat down in on the victors. The Nasty Boys though are sent fleeing as the Legion of Doom rush down to the ring just as The Nasty Boys look to hit the Trip to Nastyville on Bret Hart. Firstly I am going to prove to the world that I am the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time, and then I am going to walk into the Royal Rumble and beat 29 other superstars to get a shot to main event Wrestlemania. Perfect’s gonna retain the Intercontinental Championship against the Alabama Tornado.. Monsoon: The TEXAS tornado Heenan: Whatever Monsoon he’s gonna retain his title then he’s gonna win the Royal Rumble you sit and enjoy. </div></blockquote> Tornado who lost his IC Title to Perfect is pumped up at the start of the match, not allowing Mr Perfect to get any offence in for the first two to three minutes whatsoever. Perfect finally does get a say in the match catching Tornado off the ropes with a dropkick out of nowhere starting a spell of offence. Mr Perfect showed off his Perfect wrestling skills, keeping Tornado down on the mat with his superior technical ability. Perfect tried to work over the back of the Texas Tornado in order to keep the big man down, driving his knee into the back of Tornado while pulling back on his arms. Tornado somehow found the inner strength to work his way to his feet and spin out of the hold and hit Perfect with some hard right hands before bouncing off the ropes, but Perfect catches him with a drop toe hold and then locks in a single legged Boston Crab. Tornado again is able to fight out of it spinning onto his back and kicking Perfect to the ropes. Perfect speeds back of them right into a back body drop, followed by a thunderous clothesline taking Perfect inside out. Tornado was oh so close to winning back the championship after dropping Perfect with a shoulder breaker, but Perfect kicked out at two the disbelief of the Tornado. Late on in the match, Perfect bounced off the ropes and looked for a crossbody block on Tornado who caught him in mid air. Perfect fired some elbows to the Tornado causing him to tumble back and the two men fell over the top rope to the outside. Moments later Tornado took a hefty impact to the knees when he was sent crashing into the steel crowd barriers when Perfect reverses an Irish Whip. Perfect then hit a snap suplex and rolled Tornado into the ring, before seconds later finishing off the Tornado in impressive style with the Perfect-Plex to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Mr Perfect beats Texas Tornado in 9:39 via pinfall after a Perfect-Plex. Mr Perfect makes defence number 17 of his title reign Grade:67 After the match, Mr Perfect celebrates with his title as Bobby Heenan claps his client from the announce table shouting “1 down, 1 to go.” <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36307" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>A video is shown of the events of this past edition of Superstars when Sgt Slaughter beat Jim Duggan. As we see Slaughter put in a Camel Clutch on Duggan while choking him out with the Iraqi flag, Gorilla Monsoon says that after this match this past Thursday Jim Duggan was taken to hospital after he was coughing up blood at the hands of Slaughter. On medical grounds, Jim Duggan has been advised to not participate in tonight's Royal Rumble match, but Jack Tunney has brought in a replacement and he will be revealed during the match. The match featured tremendous in ring action, with many reversals and near falls. The Rockers were made to especially look good in the match, with the crowd enjoying some of their flying manoeuvres such as the two of them diving between the ropes onto Kato and Tanaka on the outside in the early stages. Michaels nearly took the victory early on with a Moonsault onto a standing Kato and hooking the legs, only for Tanaka to break the count. The Orient Express picked up some momentum when Tanaka dropped Michaels throat first onto the rope with a flapjack. The Orient Express attempted to slow down the match, working over the arm of Michaels with Kato looking to have the match sown up with an arm bar. Michaels digged in deep and fought out and looked for a Superkick, but Kato ducked and dropped the back of Michael’s head onto his knee followed by inverted DDT. Kato hooked the leg but Michaels somehow kicked out! Michaels had to show great resiliency in the match again coming close to defeat when he bounced off the ropes, to be met with a kick to the back of the head by the illegal man Kato. Michaels finally made the hot tag after an enzuigiri to Tanaka. It was a thrilling final few minutes of the match with many counter pinfalls, and with both Michaels and Jannety flying off opposite turnbuckles to the outside on top of Kato and Tanaka. In the end it was Marty Jannety who took the thrilling victory when he sat down on Tanaka’s chest when Tanaka went for a sunset flip, and Jannety hooked both legs for the pinfall. Slaughter tries fighting back but gets caught off the ropes with a back body drop, followed by a clothesline to the outside. Slaughter leads Warrior around the ring to General Adnan but Warriors knocks Adnan down with a clothesline before turning around into a rake in the eyes by Slaughter who then whips Warrior into the steel barrier. This was an example of Slaughter using Adnan to his beneficiary during the match, with Adnan getting involved anytime Warrior took a tumble to the outside while Slaughter distracted the ref. The Warrior took a huge bump in the middle of the match when he went to body splash Slaughter in the corner, only for the Sergeant to move out of the way and Warrior to crash into the turnbuckle and go head over heel over the top to the outside. Sgt Slaughter then worked over the ribs of the Warrior locking him into a bear hug. The Warrior found strength from the gods to fight out of it and he then fired away at Slaughter with a few hard right hands. Warrior was though distracted as QUEEN SENSATIONAL SHERRI walked down to the ring. The crowd erupted however when HULK HOGAN ran out in front of Sherri and pointed at her to go to the backstage area. Sherri says she just wants to watch the match and says she won’t make a step closer while Hogan stands at the top of the stage with his arms folded making sure she doesn’t get any closer. Meanwhile in the ring the Warrior turns around into a massive knee to the midsection, followed by an axe handle to the back, and then Slaughter locks Warrior into the Camel Clutch! Hulk Hogan looks on from the ramp in shock and looks like he wants to get involved as he doesn’t want Slaughter to hold the belt, but it would cause a DQ and therefore Slaughter would be champion. Sensational Sherri tries to urge Hogan to break the hold and Hogan looks tempted but he shakes his head adamant that he won’t do so. All to the Warrior’s good, as Warrior somehow fights out of it finding the strength to lift Slaughter up by the legs and fall back landing on top of him. Sections of the crowd start booing and it suddenly becomes clear as from the crowd comes RANDY SAVAGE! Hulk Hogan has his back turned to the ring and can’t see Savage, who pushes the timekeeper out of his chair and brings it into the ring. He looks at The Ultimate Warrior on the ground as the referee warns him not to and Sgt Slaughter on the ground shakes his head at Savage shouting at him to not attack Hogan as he doesn’t want to lose this match. Randy Savage shakes his head at Slaughter and points at him, he then swings his chair over his head and walks over to Sgt Slaughter slowly as Gorilla Monsoon at commentary realises that if Savage hits Slaughter with the chair then Sgt Slaughter wins the match via a disqualification and therefore the WWF Title. Savage looks to hit Slaughter with the chair but the crowd are off their feets as HULK HOGAN FINALLY SPOTS WHATS HAPPENING AND RUNS TO THE RING! Savage goes to hit Hogan with the chair, but Hogan ducks and then fires away with hard right hands to Savage. Hogan then throws Savage over the top rope and picks up the chair. Hogan looks like he is going to leave the ring when he is spun around by Sgt Slaughter. Hogan initially looks to swing but then realises that if he does so Slaughter will be champion. The Ultimate Warrior meanwhile gets to his feet and looks on at Hogan in shock and shoves Hogan and snatches the chair out of his hands. Warrior starts shoving Hogan who tries to defend himself as the referee escorts him out of the ring. With Hogan tying up the referee, Queen Sensational Sherri runs down to ringside and hands Randy Savage a sceptre. Savage rushes into the ring and SAVAGE CRACKS THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR OVER THE HEAD WITH THE SCEPTRE! Savage then speeds off down the ramp as Hulk Hogan tells the ref what happened as Slaughter makes the cover. The referee ignores Hogan’s claims and counts the pin fall and SGT SLAUGHTER IS THE NEW WWF CHAMPION! Sgt Slaughter beats The Ultimate Warrior in 15:58 via pinfall after Randy Savage hit Warrior with a sceptre due to win the WWF Championship. Monsoon: NO! WHAT A MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE! Heenan: I can’t believe this we have a new WWF Champion! Monsoon: It took three of them, this is ridiculous, this is an outrage. Heenan: It was all Hogan, Hulk Hogan had the referee distracted I knew he hated the Ultimate Warrior. Monsoon: Oh will you stop it wasn’t Hogan, it was Randy Savage who cracked the Ultimate Warrior with the scept... Heenan: Hang on a second what’s this pensioner up at this time for.. Jack Tunney makes his way down to ringside and he goes over to referee Earl Hebner and speaks to him before going to announcer Howard Finkel and saying something in his ear. Finkel: I have just been informed by President Jack Tunney that due to Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage’s interference this match has ended in a disqualification. So the winner of the match AND STILL WWF CHAMPION THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR The Ultimate Warrior beats Sgt Slaughter in 15:58 via disqualification due to interference by Randy Savage to retain the WWF Championship. The Ultimate Warrior makes defence number 17 of his title reign. Grade:85 Sgt Slaughter is absolutely livid in the ring as Jack Tunney orders him to hand over the WWF Championship. Slaughter does not want to give up the belt but Hulk Hogan enters the ring and knocks Slaughter down with a Clothesline. Hulk Hogan then helps Warrior to his feet and hands him the WWF Championship. Hogan goes to lift his hand but the Warrior snatches his hand away and while in a lot of pain, he pushes past Hulk Hogan, making sure he turns around giving a look of disgust as heads out. Monsoon and Heenan then discuss what has just gone on with Monsoon delighted that Jack Tunney has made the correct decision. Heenan questions the decision saying Hulk Hogan did just as much damage as Randy Savage by coming out here. Hart then works away at Paul Roma as Dino Bravo decides to go after Mr Perfect firing away a few punches before taking the Intercontinental Champion down with a side suplex. Perfect reverses an Irish whip and goes for a clothesline, but Bossman ducks and explodes off the ropes with a vicious clothesline. Bossman follows that with a scoop slam and an elbow drop. Bossman then starts kicking away at Perfect in the corner as Bret Hart and Snuka work on Paul Roma in the corner. Perfect suggests to Haku they team up but Haku proves it’s every man for themselves as he fires away some thunderous chops to the chest of Perfect. Perfect fights back however and looks for a dropkick but Haku sidesteps out of the way before taking Perfect down again with a kick to the side of Perfect’s head. Big Bossman takes advantage of Heenan’s men battling as he then attacks Haku from behind and tries to eliminate him, but Haku holds on. Hercules however quickly falls victim to a Hart Attack. Jim Neidhart then tries to eliminate Hercules, as Bret Hart’s attentions are quickly taken once again by Mr Perfect and both of those men have been in the ring now for just approaching 20 minutes. Jim Neidhart tries to take it to The Undertaker but receives a knee to the mid section, before being tossed over the top rope. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 4: Jim Neidhart by The Undertaker</div> Bret Hart sees this and he goes after The Undertaker for redemption but Taker grabs him by the throat and Chokeslams him over the top rope to the outside on top of Jim Neidhart. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 5: Bret Hart by The Undertaker</div> The crowd gives heat towards Bret Hart’s elimination after his solid 20 minute display but The Undertaker isn’t quite finished yet. Hawk is attacked from behind by Hercules who whips him off the ropes only for Hawk to come crashing back off them with a Shoulder Block Takedown. Hawk then starts to attack Hercules in the corner only for The Undertaker to come to Hercules’ aid. Undertaker begins choking out Hawk while Hercules tries to help him. The Undertaker doesn’t appreciate the help though taking him down with a hard right hand before going back to Hawk. Mr Perfect meanwhile is taking a hell of a beating by Jimmy Snuka and The Big Bossman who take their turns with shots. Mr Perfect tries valiantly fighting back at both men who no sell a few hard right hands before taking him down with one of their own. The Bossman plays to the crowd before turning around into a flying clothesline by The Undertaker. Elimination 8: Jimmy Snuka by The Undertaker To no surprise the Canadian law enforcer The Mountie goes after the ex prison guard The Big Bossman, hitting a dropkick which sends Bossman back into the corner. Mountie follows this off with a corner clothesline followed by a bulldog. The Mountie gets big heat as he then taunts the crowd, but turns around into the Bossman who is back on his feet and takes him down with an uppercut. Hawk fires back with some more of his own before bouncing off the ropes and running right into a big boot. Meanwhile The Mountie is getting too big for his boots as he goes after The Undertaker with a few hard right hands. None of these affect the dead man to which The Mountie recognises his mistake and offers his hand out to Undertaker who takes none of it taking down Mountie with an uppercut. Mr Perfect who sees this doesn’t learn from The Mountie’s mistake as he sends The Undertaker into the corner with a dropkick. The Mountie, Mr Perfect and Hercules are knocked down, but the Warlord is the unlucky choice of who the Road Warriors want to eliminate. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 9: The Warlord by Animal and Hawk</div> After then knocking down the Bossman, Haku is then hoisted up onto Animal’s shoulders and Hawk looks around to make sure no one is around him before quickly climbing up to the top and sending Haku inside out with the Doomsday Device. Hawk and Animal then start kicking away at The Undertaker in the corner and attempts to eliminate him. He is met in the ring with a few hard right hands by Hercules but Hogan fights back pounding away at Hercules against the ropes, before taking a few steps back and clothes lining him over the top rope. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 10: Hercules by Hulk Hogan</div> Hogan is then attacked from behind by Mr Perfect who then chops away at the chest of Hogan. Hogan reverses an Irish Whip and catches Perfect with a big boot to the jaw. Hogan puts his hands to his hears getting a big pop as Mr Perfect wisely rolls out of the ring under the bottom rope and isn’t eliminated despite Monsoon getting confused at the announce table. Perfect’s manager Bobby Heenan starts applauding the move and has been non stop praising Perfect who has now been in the ring for over 32 minutes. Hogan starts taking it to Earthquake and attempts to scoop slam him, but hurts his back in attempt and Earthquake clubs him down to his knees before hitting a scoop slam of his own. Earthquake splashes Hogan in the corner who falls down to the mat and then Earthquake starts jumping up and down signalling there might be a very powerful Earthquake on the Richter scale incoming. Earthquake however turns around to see The Big Bossman and Hawk with their arms over one another trying to eliminate the other, and the Earthquake comes charging from behind and tips them both over the top to the outside. <div style="text-align:center;">Eliminations 12 and 13: The Big Bossman and Hawk by Earthquake</div> Earthquake then bounces off the ropes looking for a sitdown Splash on Hogan but is hit with a clothesline by Animal. Animal bounces off the ropes and goes for a shoulder block takedown but it only the rocks the big guy back. Animal then bounces off the ropes but gets his head taken off with a massive clothesline. He watched on as Hulk Hogan big boots Mr Perfect and he then goes for a leg drop but DiBiase grabs his leg from the outside. Hogan kicks DiBiase away before turning around into Mr Perfect who kicks him in the mid section and hits the Perfect Plex. DiBiase then jumps in the ring and he and Perfect pummel away at Hogan and look to eliminate him. As this happens we go over to see The Undertaker dangling Road Warrior Animal over the top rope choking him out. Animal falls down onto the ring apron and The Undertaker tries to stomp him out resting his foot over Animal’s throat but is unable to do so. Road Warrior Animal is looking to knock down the Undertaker meanwhile, as he climbs to the top rope and goes for a diving shoulder block takedown but The Undertaker catches him by the throat. He spins Animal upside down and drops him with a Tombstone Piledriver. Earthquake goes to whip him into the opposite corner and Santana sees the opportunity hitting The Mountie with a flying forearm smash at the opposite end. Santana then sidesteps Earthquake out of the way who crashes into the turnbuckle and Santana is then joined by a highly unlikely ally in Greg Valentine before Earthquake elbows them both away. Meanwhile Mr Perfect is tossed over the top rope by Hulk Hogan but Perfect somehow hangs onto the top rope. Perfect skins the cat flipping back into the ring but his fine stint in the Rumble ends as Hulk Hogan then immediately clotheslines him to the outside. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 15: Mr Perfect by Hulk Hogan</div> Perfect and Bobby Heenan at commentary are furious while meanwhile Greg Valentine locks in the figure 4 leg lock on Ted DiBiase. The Mountie rushes over to put a stop to this but is met with an impressive dropkick before the Bulldog starts pummelling away at Earthquake. DiBiase attacks Bulldog from behind and he and Earthquake look to eliminate the only Brit in the match dangling him over the top rope. Queen Sherri wants to stay at ringside but is instructed to the back as Savage then starts to choke out Hogan on the ground. The Undertaker meanwhile thinks he has eliminated Tito Santana throwing him over the top but Tito hangs on for dear life. The Undertaker walks away to Savage and Hogan as Santana then has to suffer at the hands of Earthquake who starts stomping away at him. The Mountie is having a good stint in the rumble entering at number 15 and he still has the energy to take it to the Bulldog planting him with a pile driver. Taker pulls Hogan to his feet by his hair while he is standing on the apron and rocks Hogan back with a few hard right hands and Hogan is hanging onto the top rope by hand one hand for dear life. Hogan starts fighting back though and he tries pulling Undertaker over the top with the hair and this comes to fruition when The British Bulldog charges from behind The Undertaker and with assistance from Hogan eliminates The Undertaker who been in the ring for near 30 minutes. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 17: The Undertaker by The British Bulldog and Hulk Hogan</div> Undertaker’s elimination receives a huge pop but Hulk Hogan is still on the apron and the British Bulldog looks to take advantage as he tries to clothesline Hogan who ducks and takes Bulldog down with one of his own, before re-entering the ring and going after the Earthquake. The two men then attempt to eliminate him as Hulk Hogan is battling with the Earthquake one more time, and the British Bulldog is able to hit a Running Powerslam on the man who beat him on Superstars 2 weeks ago Randy Savage. The Barbarian takes Tito Santana’s head off with a Big Boot, before knocking the Bulldog down with a huge clothesline. Hulk Hogan whips Barbarian off the ropes, but Barbarian comes back off them with a flying shoulder takedown before locking up with the Hulkster in the corner with the pair attempting to eliminate each other. Jake Roberts meanwhile fights back against DiBiase and Virgil taking both men down with short clotheslines before setting one of them up for the DDT. Roberts plants Virgil with the DDT and he then goes after DiBiase and attempts to throw him over the top rope. Randy Savage for some reason stops Roberts from doing so, possible alliance? Savage then works over Roberts as DiBiase looks down at Virgil shouting “Where were you, I was nearly eliminated”. This split second gives DiBiase a chance to attack Piper and he has Piper dangling over the top rope WHEN VIRGIL COMES FROM BEHIND AND TIPS DIBIASE OVER THE TOP ROPE! <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 20: Ted DiBiase by Virgil</div> Huge pop as Ted DiBiase looks on absolutely bewildered that Virgil has eliminated him from this match. DiBiase re-enters the ring and takes Virgil down with a Clothesline. Roddy Piper goes after DiBiase who flurries between the ropes but Piper catches DiBiase by the hair and he throws a few hard right hands over the top rope to DiBiase when Randy Savage comes from behind and throws him over the top rope! <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 21: “Rowdy” Roddy Piper by Randy Savage</div> Huge heat is given as Piper’s glorious return to in ring action wasn’t quite so glorious, and the heat for the Macho King rises when he lifts up a dazed Virgil and also eliminates him. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 22: Virgil by Randy Savage</div> Ted DiBiase’s frown turns upside down and he gives his trademark laugh, but Roddy Piper wants more of him and he chases DiBiase backstage. Roberts then sets Martel up for a DDT, only for Martel to spin out of it, duck a clothesline and hit a back suplex. We are then moments later down to 7 men when The Barbarian gets himself tangled on the top rope when Tito Santana ducks a big boot, and then Santana sends Barbarian to the outside with a dropkick <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 23: The Barbarian by Tito Santana</div> Tito Santana doesn’t have much time to move on as he turns around into his former partner Martel who throws him to the outside. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 24: Tito Santana by Rick Martel</div> Martel’s attention is then taken by the British Bulldog as Savage and Roberts attempt to eliminate each other in one corner, while Hulk Hogan and the Earthquake again go at it. Earthquake shows great agility for a big man with a dropkick before stomping the mat signalling for the Sitdown Body Splash. Earthquake goes for it but Hogan moves! Earthquake then reaches his feet in pain and turns into Hulk Hogan who scoops him up and slams him down to the mat! Moments later the Earthquake is eliminated from the match after a good showing. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 25: Earthquake by Hulk Hogan</div> Hulk Hogan then turns around into the British Bulldog and the crowd gives a big pop as the two huge crowd favourites go at it. It’s an entertaining minute of action between the two with the fresher Davey Boy taking it to Hogan. Davey Boy catches Hogan off the ropes by hoisting him up to his shoulders in position for the Running Powerslam. Hogan slides off though and he pushes Bulldog into the path of Randy Savage who throws him over the top rope. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 26: The British Bulldog by Randy Savage</div> <div style="text-align:center;">THE FINAL 4</div> <div style="text-align:center;">Hulk Hogan v Randy Savage v Jake Roberts v Rick Martel</div> Savage impressed with the good “team work” with Hogan walks over suggesting that they team up on Roberts and Martel, but before Hogan gets time to respond he knocks Hulk down with a hard right hand. Savage then attempts to eliminate Hogan who has both of his feet off the mat and is dangling over the top in desperation. Hogan fights free and then turns his focuses to the Model who goes after him while Roberts and Savage lock horns. Savage and Martel aren’t getting the better of Roberts and Hogan and they realise this and start to work as a team both taking Hogan out before grabbing hold of Roberts and chucking him over the top rope to the outside. <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 27: Jake Roberts by Rick Martel and Randy Savage</div> They then both go after Hulk Hogan dropping numerous elbows onto the chest of Hogan. Martel hits a suplex to Hogan and then points at Savage to go the elbow drop. Randy Savage agrees and he climbs up top but MARTEL TURNS ON SAVAGE and he tries to knock him to the outside but Savage falls crotch first onto the turnbuckle. Savage hangs on somehow onto the turnbuckle in the corner bent backwards and Martel climbs up to the middle rope and tries to push him down when Hulk Hogan knocks him to the outside! <div style="text-align:center;">Elimination 28: Rick Martel by Hulk Hogan</div> Hulk Hogan then attempts the same thing Martel did climbing to the middle rope and hitting Savage with a few hard right hands, but Savage gets himself pointing upwards and he and Hogan exchange hard right hands. Hogan gets the better and he somehow finds the energy to superplex Savage off the top rope crashing down to the mat below. It’s a slow recovery for both men slower for Hogan who’s been in the ring longer than the Macho King and Savage clubs away at Hogan’s back. Savage then whips Hogan off the ropes, but Hogan comes back off them with a Big Boot and follows it off with the Leg Drop! Hogan then looks to eliminate Savage when Queen Sensational Sherri runs down to ringside gets into the ring and starts slapping away at Hogan’s back. Hogan walks over to Sherri who scurries out of the ring and Hogan turns around into a scoop slam and Savage climbs up top. Savage takes his time pointing at Hogan signalling for the Elbow Drop WHEN THE ULTIMATE WARRIORS RUN DOWN TO THE RING! The Warrior wanting revenge for Savage nearly costing him the WWF Title pushes Savage off the top rope into the ring. Warrior then enters it bounces off the ropes and hits a Clothesline. Referee Earl Hebner enters the ring to get him out, but Warrior runs straight past and takes Savage down with another clothesline. Warrior then goes for the running shoulder block takedown...BUT SAVAGE MOVES OUT OF THE WAY AND WARRIOR KNOCKS DOWN HOGAN!! Good Royal Rumble, quite frankly, i think that the booking of the world title match was very good. A way for both The Warrior and Slaughter to stay over. Savage winning the Rumble match, OOOH YEAH. The only really bad thing about this event was:

''Smash takes down Snuka with a clothesline and then goes after The Big Bossman but poor Smash’s participation in the Royal Rumble only lasts a mere 28 seconds as The Bossman throws him to the floor.''

Okerlund: Ok and what about Hulk Hogan? He looked odds on to win last night’s Royal Rumble only until he was accidentally attacked by the Ultimate Warrior. Tunney: Well Randy Savage is contractually obliged to face the WWF Champion at Wrestlemania and The Ultimate Warrior’s interference while detrimental to Hulk Hogan it was not Randy Savage’s fault. However the Warrior did potentially cost Hulk Hogan winning the match, so also at Wrestlefest Hulk Hogan will go one on one with Randy Savage, which if Hogan can come out victorious he will get a title shot against the Warrior before Wrestlemania. The Mountie walked out on the last match between the two on All American Wrestling last week and you wouldn’t blame him for wanting to do so this week as he struggled with the size and power of Tugboat. The Mountie did have some offence but couldn’t take the Tugboat off his feet. In the end it was the Tugboat who took himself off his feet. Moments after The Mountie accidentally bumped into the referee, Tugboat whipped him into the corner and went for a body splash only for the Mountie to move out of the way and Tugboat to crash into the turnbuckle and fall to the floor. With the referee down, the Mountie took advantage using his shock stick on Tugboat and then getting the pinfall as the referee recovered. Valentine does his bit to keep Snuka on the ground and work over his leg to set him up for the figure 4 leg locks which he locks on but Snuka is able to break out of the hold breaking his legs free and kicking Valentine in the head. Snuka had a much more physical take to the match knocking Valentine down with some stinging chops and headbutts. In the end though the Superfly Splash off the top rope was enough for Snuka to put down Valentine. He knocks the door but there is a lot of shouting from what sounds like General Adnan. Okerlund lets himself in to a locker room which is trashed and Sgt Slaughter is pacing up and down as General Adnan shouts in Mean Gene’s direction. Okerlund goes to ask a question but Slaughter interrupts. Slaughter: I have been screwed Okerlund. I should be WWF Champion if it wasn’t for Jack Tunney. And in the least I should get my deserved rematch but I tell you what Jack Tunney for some reason fears me as the face of this company. I was robbed and don’t get a rematch while Hulk Hogan lost fair and square in the Royal Rumble, and if he beats the Macho Man he gets another title shot. Not under my belt pukeamania, this company has been carried with your face in the past as the WWF Champion for too long and what good did that do this company and this country? Whether Jack Tunney likes it or not I will earn my rematch, and I will do whatever it takes to do so. Now Okerlund you are dismissed! Heenan: I’ve told you before Bossman that you don’t deserve to be in the ring with my clients, especially when Mr Perfect now has a WWF Championship match in three weeks time to focus on. But again I’ve done the honourable thing and found you an opponent. Can you feel the ground beneath your feet shaking Bossman? BECAUSE I KNOW WHY! It was a fairly slow, sluggish affair with not much great wrestling action going on, more of an all out brawl. Despite the size advantage, the Bossman took it to the Earthquake giving the Canadian everything he had in his books but like many he struggled to lift Earthquake off his feet. This was shown at the end of the match when Bossman for some reason attempted the Bossman slam but of course he wasn’t going to life the Earthquake up, who, in turn slammed the Bossman down before dropping the Earthquake Splash for the pinfall. Winner: Earthquake in 7:37 via pinfall with the Earthquake Splash Grade:61 <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36307" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>We then go backstage where Bobby Heenan and Mr Perfect are laughing about what they’ve just seen. Heenan: What you saw there was the definition of a loser in the Big Bossman. What you see here is the definition of a champion, in fact the current Intercontinental Champion and future WWF Champion. Perfect: Yes I didn’t win the Royal Rumble, but sometimes things don’t happen so that better things can take place. Instead of waiting till Wrestlemania to get a shot at the WWF Champion, I have it this month at Wrestlefest. And while the Ultimate Warrior is gaining enemies from all corners, Sgt Slaughter doesn’t like him, Randy Savage doesn’t like him hey even Hulk Hogan doesn’t like him. I on the other hand go into the match with a clear open mind, with the knowledge that my date of destiny has arrived. And when I beat The Ultimate Warrior 1-2-3 in the centre of that ring, make sure you take your pictures, your videos because that moment will be a moment people talk about for a very long time. It was the technical style of Bret Hart meshing up against the powerhouse that is Dino Bravo and it made for the best match of the night (which to be fair in tonight’s card didn’t take much!). Bravo was aggressive throughout perhaps more so that he usually is probably in frustration of the Hitman eliminating him during the Royal Rumble. Once again however it was the Hitman who able to take the spoils locking in the Sharpshooter on the Canadian strongman for the submission victory. Winner: Bret Hart in 7:53 via submission with the Sharpshooter Grade: 73 <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36307" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>After the match The Nasty Boys take to the ring to put a beat down on Bret after their loss to the Hart Foundation at the Rumble. Jim Neidhart comes out to even things, but the Nasty Boys make mince meat out of him. Just like the Royal Rumble though, the Legion of Doom run out to make the save. LOD then help The Hart Foundation to their feet, with Hawk noticeably handing Bret Hart’s tag team belt to the Hitman and patting it. Grade: 69</div></blockquote> <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36307" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>We end the show with Gene Okerlund bringing out both the WWF Champion The Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan. With the two men being able to reflect on what went down at the Royal Rumble, they are both able to look back and sympathise with the other with the Warrior apologising to Hogan for accidentally costing him the Royal Rumble while Hogan tells Warrior that he respects him and knows he wouldn’t do it on purpose. To end this making up session out comes Queen Sensational Sherri. Sherri tries to stir the pot stating that the Warrior shouldn’t have to apologise to Hulk Hogan saying that Hogan if the Warrior hadn’t stopped him would of hit Sgt Slaughter and cost the Warrior the championship. Sherri says Hogan’s vendetta isn’t with Sgt Slaughter but with the Ultimate Warrior for beating him at Wrestlemania 6. Warrior doesn’t take note of any of this and tells Sherri to tell Randy Savage to watch his back because he will look forward to destroying the Macho King at Wrestlemania. Warrior is then interrupted by the music of Mr Perfect who steps out on stage with Bobby Heenan. Perfect simply points at the Warrior’s title belt and signals that it will be around the Perfect’s one waist. As Warrior violently shakes his head in a fit like rage, behind him is Hulk Hogan, and behind him is Randy Savage who out of nowhere strikes Hulk Hogan over the back with a steel chair! The Warrior hears the thud and sees Savage. Warrior slowly walks over to the Royal Rumble winner, walking past Hulk Hogan’s body. While the Warrior has his attention on Randy Savage from the other side of Warrior walking past Mr Perfect is Sgt Slaughter who runs onto the interview set and applies the Camel Clutch onto Hulk Hogan. Warrior turns around and sees this contemplating saving Hogan but he turns around into Randy Savage who goes to hit him with the chair, only for the Warrior to rip it out of his hands! The Warrior then pursues Randy Savage to the backstage area leaving a defenceless Hulk Hogan, as Sgt Slaughter repeats what he did to Jim Duggan last week by choking Hogan out with the Iraqi Flag in the Camel Clutch. Referee’s and road agents eventually force Slaughter off Hogan, who is choking heavily as paramedics come out to close the show. (86) Saba Simba beats Brooklyn Brawler in 4:54 via pinfall with a Gorilla Press Slam (47) The Bam Bam Bigelow return hype video which aired on Superstars plays again (63) Haku and The Barbarian beat The Bushwackers in 5:54 when Haku pinned Butch with a Crescent Kick (58) Owen Hart is interviewed by Sean Mooney and Owen states that he learnt a tough lesson from the Earthquake in his debut 2 weeks ago but tonight he will prove that he has what it takes to beat the monsters of the WWF (49) The Warlord beats Owen Hart in 7:51 via pinfall with a Diving Clothesline from the middle rope (51) An angry Undertaker backstage with Paul Bearer cut a promo on the British Bulldog who eliminated him from the Royal Rumble. The Undertaker warns British Bulldog that he shouldn’t play with death. Rick Martel beats Jim Powers in 8:01 via submission with the Boston Crab (69) We end the show with Randy Savage and Sensational Sherri cutting a promo on Hulk Hogan and his attack by Sgt Slaughter on Superstars. Randy Savage states that while Hogan doesn’t deserve the chance to get a title shot since Randy Savage beat him fair and square at the Rumble, he doubts whether Hogan will be able to make Wrestlefest due to the attack by Sgt Slaughter.
