ThomasRiordan
Why am I doing this? The main reason for doing this is try as I may I just cannot copy Reaper or Payne's style of making title belts. Payne's tutorial is hard to find in it's entirety and Reaper's uses Adobe Fireworks which is outside the price range of a lot of people so I thought a tutorial on how to do title belts in a free program like Gimp would be ideal for those of you, who like me, lack the skill and/or patience to make belts like Reaper and Payne do and don't want to endlessly request titles from them. Is this style better than theirs? No, it's a matter of taste. If you like this style then by all means try to learn it, if you like another style then learn that. I'm not saying that you can't come close to making belts like theirs in Gimp just that at the present time I do not know how to mimic that style in Gimp. I've found a style that works for me and satisfies the only person who needs to be satisfied with the end result. As long as you're happy with the belt you created then that's all that matters. I've managed to create the belts below in just a matter of days in Gimp starting from being completely clueless on how to even begin a title belt, so you should be able to come up with a decent belt after a few attempts too. I'm not saying you're going to go right in and be great because I've been working in various graphics programs for over a decade so results may very but even a mistake is a lesson learned. The beauty of how I'm going to teach you to save your belt as a layer .xcf is as you learn more you can always go back and fix or improve your belt as you learn new tricks. Will you make x belt for me? Taking requests? No, and no. At present I have a long list of my own titles that need new renders and I'm lazy. Besides you'd probably do a better job on your title belt than I ever could. It's hard enough to come up with ideas for my own title belts, having to come up with ideas for other people would just be a long and tedious process with poor end results. Instead however I will be making every title I post available in a layered .xcf format so you can easily go in and edit the belt to your liking in Gimp. You can use these titles any way you see fit and there's no need to give me credit. It'd be nice, but I'm not going to hunt you to the end of the earth and bludgeon you over a graphic. Where's the tutorial? I ended up uploading the tutorial to Daily Motion due to You Tube's size limit and the program I was using to cut the video into the required length making the file size astronomical. A 10 minute chunk of a 1.8gb video should not be 33gb+ Okay, enough FAQ onto the titles... http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWorldHeavyweight_zps25d331f1.png?t=1372980168 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWomens_zps91ee3ab0.png?t=1372980168 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWUnitedStates_zps13e6913b.png?t=1372980168 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWInternational_zps6ffbef22.png?t=1372980168 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWHardcore_zps20fb7a5f.png?t=1372980168 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWHardcore2_zps67a72e05.png?t=1372980124 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWorldTagTeam_zps6a805e1d.png?t=1372980153 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWCruiserweight_zps11e8692f.png?t=1372980168 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWChildrens_zpsa3470ab7.png?t=1372980168 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/JackThompsonTitle_zpsc392dfbf.png?t=1372980168 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWXtreme_zps4539af09.png?t=1373233269 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWUSTagTeam_zpsf01a16a9.png?t=1373233269 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWTelevision_zpscf3674d5.png?t=1373233268 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWHeavyweight_zps26d056a1.png?t=1373233269 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWomensHardcore_zps53f9c424.png?t=1373233268 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWomensHardcore2_zpsca39a3dc.png?t=1373233267 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/JackThompsonTagTeam_zps54e428dc.png?t=1373233267 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWomensTagTeam_zpsea40e2c0.png?t=1373233268 http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWorldHeavyweight_zps6b47308a.jpg?t=1372981745http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWomens_zps88c8e225.jpg?t=1372981745http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWUnitedStates_zpsa964bcdc.jpg?t=1372981745http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWInternational_zpsb1379362.jpg?t=1372981744http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWHardcore_zps776aeafa.jpg?t=1372981744http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWHardcore2_zps5df829cb.jpg?t=1372981744http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWorldTagTeam_zpsc0fe3b48.jpg?t=1372981745http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWCruiserweight_zps3e9a3081.jpg?t=1372981744http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWChildrens_zpse9eb37b3.jpg?t=1372981744http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/JackThompsonTitle_zpsdb93d9ef.jpg?t=1372981744http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWXtreme_zps926e1772.jpg?t=1373233268http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWUSTagTeam_zps50cdb66c.jpg?t=1373233269http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWTelevision_zps44a74746.jpg?t=1373233267http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWHeavyweight_zpsf75c0285.jpg?t=1373233268http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWomensHardcore_zps6ebb33f8.jpg?t=1373233267http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWomensHardcore2_zps58e87716.jpg?t=1373233266http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/JackThompsonTagTeam_zps1a5d33f0.jpg?t=1373233266http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Title%20Belts/PTWWomensTagTeam_zps10dc167c.jpg?t=1373233267 Belt Downloads PTW Hardcore PTW United States PTW Women's Hardcore PTW World Tag Team PTW US Tag Team PTW World Heavyweight PTW Women's Jack Thompson's Tag Team PTW Children's Jack Thompson's Title PTW Television PTW Cruiserweight PTW Women's Tag Team PTW International PTW Xtreme PTW World Heavyweight Belt Template Tutorial
SuperstarJimiC
I have one question...What does PTW stand for? Do you have a logo for PTW? Let us know.
ThomasRiordan
<p>PTW = Prime Time Wrestling.</p><p> </p><p> Yes, there is a logo but it's not really designed to go on belts, although I will go into explaining how to use a logo created in Daz 3D in the tutorial. Not really that difficult just a matter of saving it as a png. </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/ThomasRiordan/TEW%20Logos/PTWLogo_zpsde505dde.jpg?t=1373021014</span></p><p> </p><p> Actually, I don't go into this in the tutorial. I forgot with all the other problems I had with it. You basically render your logo in Daz as a png so the background is transparent and then use it like any other image.</p>
mistaken
<p>the original master of belts Payne has a great video</p><p> </p><p> [thread=28090]the thread[/thread]</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> the reigning master of belts Reaper, got his start and some great pointers</p><p> </p><p> [thread=28090]the begining[/thread]</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> That said good luck with you tutorial.</p>
ThomasRiordan
<p>I'm well aware of Payne and Reaper (even made reference to them in the first paragraph). If people want to do their belts in that style and have the ability, resources and patience to do so then the more power to them. But a free alternative is always a nice addition for those who cannot afford or like me find Photoshop highly overrated for it's price range. </p><p> </p><p> Nothing sucks worst than spending a ton of money on a piece of software that you find can't accomplish what you want or is so mind numbingly frustrating compared to much cheaper software that can accomplish the job just as well in half the time with less headache.</p>

I do have one with just the strap but the other belts can be used as a template. I'll just go ahead and upload them to MediaFire even though I haven't labeled all the layers yet. It's pretty easy to figure out what you need to get rid of for the most part.</p><p> </p><p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> Added belt downloads to first post.</span></p>
Powerful_Fox
Just the strap is fine for the time being mate, cheers for uploading it. Will be using a mixture of your belts as a guide definitely. Watched through you video again, missed a couple of bits the first time around. It's really helpful mate, cheers.
