[HYPE] Crossing The Line: World Wrestling Championship Fighting

Recommended Posts

The year is 2013. Wrestling has taking a major downfall, with more fans tuning into UFC then pro wrestling. Attendance numbers slipping, ppv buy rates on the decline, the future is looking dark for wrestling.

Vince McMahon decides to do the unthinkable- open his own MMA promotion. With his star power and money, will this be a big succsess, or a flop? Only time will tell...

Basis of this mod:

This was an idea for a mod I have had for a while- what if pro wrestlers competed in the MMA? This mod will have tons of promotions and workers, with no one worker signed to a company. This way you can chose who you want fighting for you, and no two games will be the same.

Hopefully a beta will be released within the upcoming days, will update this first post when it is released.

Day 1 Update:

-Created 50 fighters for the database so far, still need to add popularity levels, bios, and pictures.

-Created 3 different Organizations.

-Using the default databases PPV carriers, TV Stations, and fight teams,

-Simulated 3 years of game play. Only one organization ran cards, my guess was that the talent was too thin at 50 to have the other two companies run fights.

-Simulated a second game with only one company starting in 2006, which was a much better game. The first game in 2013 had many retirements (Undertaker, HHH, Kurt Angle, Big Show, Batista). 2006 also had retirements, but less. Both of my games were watcher games.

In my 2006 game Christian was the heavyweight champion, with defenses over Damien Sandow and Dean Amberose, then he was sidelined in June 2007. He returned in March 2008 to defend his title against Antonio Cesaro, and lost. Cesaro managed a defence against CM Punk, but lost the title against Jack Swagger. Swagger defended the title against Wade Barrett in January 2009, giving Swagger a 12-0 record. After he defended the title against Darren Young in April 2009, he left the company. My guess is that he wanted to much money with a streak of 13-0. The next world champion has yet to be decided.

The Super Heavyweight title was first held by Tensi after defeating Kane to crown a champion. Mark Henry defeated The Undertaker in his retirement match, giving the Undertaker his first lost (his MMA record was 21-1 when he retired). Mark Henry defeated Tensi for the belt, then defended it against Brock Lesnar. His next match was nearly a year later, where he lost to Ezekiel Jackson in October 2008, making him the champion.

Quick update (August 5th, 2013):

So the mod had 130 workers, but then my laptop stopped working. I was unable to test the game with all the new fighters, and my laptop is currently being repaired. I will continue working on this once I get it back.

So is this database being done with a sense of realism... i.e. Angle would be a quality wrestler, Henry would be freakishly strong and guys with little to know training would suck? Cuz it'd be mildly amusing to play and watch Brock tool the Heavyweights and Angle cut to 205 and do it there aswell <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

If anybody remembers the American Wrestling Federation which was around for a short time, this combined American pro wrestling and the British wrestling by using the round system. All you are doing is adding UFC type action which I an drooling over right now as I type.

Not so much if its kayfabe and half the wrestlers are made into legit fighters with no training though (i.e. HHH being able to fight for real cuz he's over in wrestling etc). Cuz I'd love to watch trained guys like Samoa Joe smash him in 30 seconds haha

Thank you everyone for the interest shown! I have completed the current WWE roster today, and I need to add bios, popularity levels, contracts, etc. The mod will have more of a kayfabe feel to it. "Legends" will have a bit better stats, midcarders will be a little weaker. I will be trying to add in older wrestlers as well, so people will be able to start their game in different time periods having different people and companies available.

Here is another preview match:

'The Beast' Brock Lesnar vs. 'The Demon Of Death Valley' The Undertaker
- From Quick Sim mode

>Blurcat Radio is pleased to bring you a special contest; 'The Beast' Brock Lesnar competes against 'The Demon Of Death Valley' The Undertaker.

>The fight begins!

>An insane flying side kick misses and gives Undertaker the chance to counter with a hard right kick to the legs.

>Lesnar shoots in, looking for a takedown.

>Undertaker cannot stop the takedown, and has to pull guard.

>Lesnar begins trying to pass guard and get a better position.

>He does excellently, getting past the guard and into side control.

>Lesnar attempts an armbar.

>Undertaker stops Lesnar from applying it.

>Undertaker tries to pull guard on Lesnar but doesn't get anywhere with the attempt.

>The Undertaker is looking really tired.

>Lesnar looks to get a mount.

>Advancing his position, he gets mount.

>Lesnar unloads with big elbows from the mount, landing several that clearly hurt Undertaker.

>That strike has opened up a noticeable gash above the eye of Undertaker.

>Brock Lesnar doesn't look like he has much left in the tank.

>Lesnar attempts an armbar.

>Undertaker does excellently, defending the armbar and using it to get on top in side control.

>Undertaker throws a few right hands as he takes a moment to plan ahead.

>Lesnar attempts to secure an arm.

>Undertaker doesn't let his arm get taken.

>Undertaker begins trying to get himself into mount.

>He can't get the mount.

>Lesnar transitions to half guard.

>Undertaker attempts to pass half guard and gain a better position.

>Lesnar doesn't let Undertaker get his leg free, and so half guard remains in place.

>The Undertaker looks like he is on the verge of exhaustion.

>Lesnar tries to ensnare an arm.

>Undertaker fends off Lesnar, and doesn't give up an arm.

>Undertaker tries to stand up, but Lesnar keeps him firmly in half guard.

>Lesnar skillfully moves to full guard.

>Brock Lesnar looks like he doesn't have a lot left to give.

>Undertaker attempts to pass guard and gain a better position.

>Lesnar keeps his guard secure.

>Lesnar attempts to secure an arm.

>Undertaker almost falls victim to a kimura, but in the end settles for being swept into side control.

>Lesnar looks to get a mount.

>Lesnar shifts to mount.

>Lesnar tries to ensnare Undertaker in an armbar.

>Showing good defense, Undertaker stacks up Lesnar to defend the armbar, and eventually works to getting side control.

>Undertaker relinquishes side control and stands up, letting Lesnar stand too.

>The clock is stopped as the referee wants to check the cut on Undertaker.

>The ringside doctor gives the wound a look, but quickly signals that it is not going to be a problem.

>The referee signals for the fight to continue!

>A showdown where they both exchange strikes only results in a stalemate.

>The gas tank looks empty on The Undertaker.

>A weak right kick is countered by Lesnar with a crisp left hand punch.

>A left jab misses and Undertaker counters with a right kick to the thigh.

>There's only so many of those strikes to the legs that can be taken before they become an issue.

>Although visibly tired, Undertaker looks to move in and stand in the pocket.

>Undertaker is now standing in the pocket.

>Lesnar sees a right kick coming and strikes first with a straight left.

>Undertaker uses head movement to avoid a left jab.

>From the pocket, a tired-looking Lesnar shoots in for a double leg.

>Undertaker tries to time a counter right hand, but can't get it.

>Lesnar gets a single leg takedown!
To test my data (of the current day wwe roster), I started a game in 2003 and simmed all the way to 2013. The promotion World Fighting Championship (WFC) ran 35 cards.

The landscape of the WFC was very different then the WWE. Some of the stories are:

The Reigning WFC Super Heavyweight Champion: Brodus Clay

Brodus Clay managed to become the top level superstar in MMA. His first 2 professional matches were losses against Adrian Vessey (Kane Regen) and Brock Lesnar. After those losses, he was let go, where he fought for a year at the independent shows. He was rehired in 2010, and defeated Titus O'Neil in his comeback match. He then defeated The Great Khali. At WFC 28, Brodus Clay defeated Brock Lesnar for the championship. He has made defences against Ryback and Big E Langston since winning the title. He is tied with Adrian Vessey for most title defenses with this title at 2.

CM Punk: The Worst In The World

CM Punk was signed to WFC in 2005 after spending 2 years fighting at local shows. When he was signed, he lost 3 fights to Curtis Axel, Darren Young, and John Cena. He was cut from his contract, and fought at local shows from 2008-2012. In 2012 he returned to the WFC, only to lose to Alex Riley.

Darren Young: 11-1

Darren Young was one of the top MMA athletes. He was signed by WFC in 2005, where he debuted and defeated Primo in the first round. He then had a title match against John Cena in 2006 at WFC 12, and was able to make John Cena tap out. Darren Young went on to defend his title against Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Santino Marrella, The Miz, and Brodie Lee. In 2008 at WFC 21, John Cena got his rematch. John Cena won, and Darren Young has not fought since then. Darren Young`s achievements include 2006 Main Event Of The Year (vs. John Cena), 2007 Fighter Of The Year, 2007 Submission Of The Year (vs. Randy Orton), 2007 Main Event Of The Year (vs. Randy Orton), 2008 Submission Of The Year (vs. Brodie Lee), and 2008 Main Event Of The Year (vs. John Cena).

Adrian Vessey: The Biggest Fall

Adrian Vessey is a regen of Kane. He made his MMA debut in November 2003. In his first match he defeated Lord Tensai in the 2004 Fight Of The Year. He then defeated Sheamus, and earned a title match. At WFC 6, Adrian Vessey defeated Brock Lesnar, and became the second man to win the WFC Super Heavyweight Championship. Nearly a year later, he faced Brock Lesnar in a rematch at WFC 6: and defeated him again. He lost his championship to Mark Henry, but came back stronger. In his rematch against Henry, he was victorious and became a 2 time champion. He defended his title against Lord Tensai and in the rubber match between him and Mark Henry. At WFC 25, he would face his biggest rival- Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar came into this match more determined, and made Adrian Vessey tap in the first round. Adrian Vessey has suffered 3 more losses since then, becoming a shell of who he used to be.

Fighter WFC records (not including local shows):

Antonio Cesaro- 1-5

Big E Langston- 4-2

Brock Lesnar- 13-7

Brodus Clay- 6-2

CM Punk- 0-4

Daniel Bryan (WFC Heavyweight Champion)- 12-3

Dean Ambrose- 6-4

John Cena - 13-5

Randy Orton- 10-6

Roman Reigns- 7-2

Ryback- 6-5

Sheamus- 2-7

The Undertaker- 4-6

Tyson Kidd- 6-2

Wade Barrett- 4-3
