The crowd has settled and Bockwinkel welcomes everyone to WCW Saturday Night, wondering if everyone enjoyed the Clash of the Champions? That draws in some cheers from the crowd. Bockwinkel says that he has a major announcement to give to everyone tonight concerning WCW's Fall Brawl in September. In order to give that announcement, he has to welcome out two men to the ring. Those two men are <strong>Ric Flair</strong> and the WCW World Heavyweight Champion <strong>Hulk Hogan</strong>!</p><p> </p><p> Flair comes out to the ring first wearing his blue sequined robe. He enters the ring alone and shakes hands with Bockwinkel before 'American Made' begins to play. Hulk Hogan walks out from the back with the WCW World Heavyweight Title belt around his waist. He gives some high fives to the fans and then enters the ring, waiting to see what is going on. Bockwinkel tells the two men that Fall Brawl has been the traditional home of a WCW-only match called War Games. Flair, of course, has a lot of experience within that match. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Nick Bockwinkel:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"It's two rings enclosed by a steel cage. These two veterans go at it in back and forth fashion with both men looking to score some early pinfalls. The referee takes an early bump and Anderson looks to take advantage by setting Duggan's 2X4 up in the corner. He whips Duggan in -- reversed! Anderson goes face-first into the 2X4! Duggan rolls him up as the referee starts to come to: One, Two, Kickout! Anderson still has enough strength to kick out! Duggan gets the crowd going and then sets up in a corner, preparing for his football tackle. Anderson slowly gets up and Duggan charges, Anderson moves! Duggan's tackle sends him into the ring post through the turnbuckles! Anderson slides out of the ring and grabs the TV title belt. The referee is still fully coming to as Anderson slides in the ring -- WHAM! He catches Duggan with a belt shot! Anderson tosses the belt out of the ring and then catches Duggan with an Anderson DDT! Anderson makes the cover: One, Two, Three!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Arn Anderson p. Vader has definitely had his issues with the Armstrong family but they cannot seem to touch the large man. Vader basically no-sells his way through the match. Vader tosses Scott in a corner and beats on him with forearm shots until Bob jumps on his back. Vader moves back into a corner crushing Bob. He lifts Bob over his head and then military presses him down to the mat. Vader yells at the crowd, asking 'Who's the Man?!?!' A fan raises up a sign reading: 'VADER SMASH PUNY ARMSTRONG!' Vader drags Bob to a corner and sets him there, grabbing Scott and slamming him on top of his father. Vader climbs to the second turnbuckle, bouncing and then jumping with a Vader Bomb! Vader puts a hand on each man's chest as the referee counts: One, Two, Three!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Vader p. The crowd cheers as the two men enter the ring and then raise up on the turnbuckles, pumping their fists to cheers from the crowd. Sting takes the microphone and welcomes Warrior to his promotion. He talks about how Warrior and he are good friends and that this is a man that he trusts to have his back. Warrior gets on the microphone and, well, he grunts a lot. He talks about the Warriors in the audience being here in Illinois. Warrior might have continued but he gets interrupted by the arrival of a third man.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/EddieGilbert.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> That third man is 'Hot Stuff' <strong>Eddie Gilbert</strong>. Gilbert walks right down to the ring and steps inside by himself. He tells Sting and Warrior that he doesn't need 'Hot Stuff International' to watch his back all the time. HSI is a group of like-minds and friends. He used to be a friend of Sting's back in the day too. He tells Warrior that when Sting doesn't need him anymore, he will just drop him like he dropped Eddie Gilbert. Sting says that Gilbert is the one who changed, not him. Gilbert says that that is always what people say. But he wants to prove just how much better Hot Stuff International is than Sting and Warrior so Gilbert challenges the two of them to a tag team match at Fall Brawl. Sting and Warrior against two members of Hot Stuff International. Warrior accepts quickly and Gilbert tries to get in a cheap shot with the microphone but gets clotheslined by Warrior for his troubles. Warrior makes the press motion but Gilbert quickly escapes the ring. Warrior beats his chest and Sting releases a howl. We have another match set for Fall Brawl!</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match #3: </strong><strong><span style="color:#0000FF;">WCW World Tag Team Titles, #1 Contender Second Round Match</span></strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36672" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/PaulOrndorff.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/PaulRoma.jpg</span><p> <span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/VS.jpg</span></p><p> <span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/MarcusBagwell.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/ThePatriot.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Pretty Wonderful vs. Stars 'n' Stripes</span></strong></p><p> A quarterfinal, or second round, match pitting the two teams that got byes in the first round of the tournament as Pretty Wonderful sets foot in the ring with Stars 'n' Stripes. SnS quicken the pace early on and score a near fall but the veteran Orndorff catches The Patriot going for a Patriot Missle off the top turnbuckle and sends him right to the mat. Orndorff and Roma make quick tags in and out between using the hand-held mirror to view themselves in the ring. Orndorff catches The Patriot in a camel clutch and Roma raises the hand-held mirror so Orndorff can see himself in the mirror while he has the hold on. The power of The Patriot is on display during this time as he pushes himself to his feet, lifting Orndorff up and then dropping backward. Both men crawl toward their corners. Orndorff tags first but Bagwell is tagged in as Roma comes running over. Bagwell catches him with a dropkick over the top rope to enter the ring. Bagwell brings Orndorff down with a clothesline. All four men enter the ring and begin doing battle. Pretty Wonderful gains an advantage and Bagwell is held by Orndorff as Roma takes the hand-held mirror. Roma swings but Bagwell ducks and Orndorff is caught with the mirror, shattering it over his head! The Patriot steps back in and lifts Orndorff with a vertical suplex position as Bagwell heads to the top turnbuckle. Bagwell leaps with the cross body, connecting on Orndorff. Bagwell hooks the leg: One, Two, Three! Stars 'n' Stripes advances!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Stars 'n' Stripes p. We are taken backstage to the office of WCW Commissioner <strong>Nick Bockwinkel</strong>. Bockwinkel is with <strong>Harley Race</strong> and the man they call <strong>Vader</strong>. Vader is posing as Race talks with Bockwinkel. Race says that we are getting closer and closer to WCW's flagship event: Starrcade. He talks about knowing a little bit about Starrcade since he was in the main event of the very first Starrcade, while Bockwinkel was with some now-defunct promotion. Race says that he has come here to demand that his client, Vader, receive a World title match at Starrcade! Bockwinkel says that he cannot guarantee that right now. But he will make Race a deal. At Halloween Havoc in October, there will be a one on one match between Vader and Sid Vicious. If Vader wins, he cements his place at Starrcade in the World title match. If he does not win, however, he will not get a title match at Starrcade. Race agrees to this as the segment comes to a close.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/RicFlair.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/ArnAnderson.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/SteveWilliams.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/TerryGordy.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">The Four Horsemen</span></span></strong></p><p> Speaking of Starrcade, another man who knows a lot about that event is this man, 'The Nature Boy' <strong>Ric Flair</strong>. He is shown in the back with the other three members of the Four Horsemen: <strong>Arn Anderson</strong>, <strong>Steve Wlliams</strong> and <strong>Terry Gordy</strong>. Flair tells them that he knows he can count on their participation in War Games by his side. The three men agree but Williams brings up the fact that they need a fifth man in War Games. Flair says that he knows and that he has an idea of who they can get for their fifth man. This match is a lot faster paced than the last match. One of the highlights includes Rob Van Dam leaping from the top turnbuckle with a cross body outside the ring to take out both Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko. Back inside the ring, Lance Storm strikes Malenko with a roll-through into a single leg crab that nearly secures them the victory except for the break-up by Benoit. The tag was made in to Benoit and Benoit ducks a clothesline attempt by Storm, catching him in a rear waistlock. Benoit lifts Storm over in a German Suplex but holds on to it! Storm catches a second German Suplex that Benoit releases. A fan raises up a sign reading: 'Canadian Ice!' Malenko takes Van Dam off the apron, sending him into the guardrail. In the ring, Benoit catches Storm in the Crippler Crossface. Within moments, Storm has to submit! Rhodes and Windham shake hands with Hogan and say that it's an honor to be here with a legend like him. Hogan tells him that he wishes them luck in the tag team tournament, brothers, but if some reason it doesn't work out for them, then he has something he needs to ask them. He wants them to be two members of his War Games team at Fall Brawl. Rhodes is quick to say yes but Windham hesitates, saying he's been there before and it's not an easy road. Windham finally gives in when Hogan says that he will watch their back before the show. It looks like we might have some members of the War Games team for Hogan!</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match #5</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="36672" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/TerryFunk.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/VS.jpg</span><span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/SidVicious.jpg</span> w/ <span>http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/JimmyHart.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Terry Funk vs. 'Psycho' Sid Vicious</span></strong></p><p> It should come as no surprise to anyone that this match is about as pure a brawl as you're going to get. Terry Funk did not have Colonel Robert Parker in his car, leading to a fan only timidly raising the sign they made: 'Get me some chicken, Colonel!' during the bout. Funk shows that he still has some gas left in the tank during this match. But while Funk gives everything he can in this bout, Vicious is just that much better. Vicious chokes Funk in the corner with his boot and takes Funk down with a big boot. Vicious lifts Funk by the throat and raises him in the air -- Chokeslam! Vicious makes the cover: One, Two, Three!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Sid Vicious p. Instead, he gets confronted in the ring by <strong>Brian Pillman</strong>. Pillman shows footage from last Sunday's Clash of the Champions. The footage clearly shows Pillman getting his shoulder up before the three count is administered. After the footage is shown, Pillman asks Woehrle to explain himself.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Dick Woehrle:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"It's obvious that a mistake was made. Austin takes Pillman down and mounts him, throwing punches and trying to block the punches that Pillman throws. Woehrle gets himself out of the ring quickly as Austin and Pillman roll around with neither of them gaining a distinct advantage. Austin manages to get to his feet first and he kicks Pillman in the gut -- Stun Gun! Pillman drops off the rope to the mat below. Austin begins putting the boots to him as officials run in and break things up. Piper introduces the world to his brand new bodyguard, his brand new 'Ace' 'Prime Time' Brian Lee. Lee stands there stoically like the muscle that he is. He has his arms crossed over his chest. Piper says that since they did not get a clear winner at the Clash in his match with Ricky Steamboat, he wants a rematch for the United States title. He says that Steamboat can pick the stipulation because he can beat the Dragon in any match out there. The contest between these two teams is actually a very good contest that sees Steamboat and Badd in control in the beginning. Badd goes for an early Shooting Star Press but Brian Lee gets his knees up into the chest of Badd. Lee tags in Piper and Piper simply goes to town on Johnny B. Badd. He chokes him in a corner and brings him down with a running knee lift to the side of the head. He even sends Badd out of the ring, crashing him against the guardrail and then the ring post. Piper tags in Lee and the bodyguard continues the work started by Piper. He brings Badd crashing to the mat with a death valley driver and then goes for the cover: One, Two, Kickout! A fan raises a sign reading: 'Is it Prime Time?' The momentum turns when Lee goes for a tombstone piledriver but Badd manages to slide out and roll-up Lee for a two count. Badd crawls over and tags in the United States Champion. Steamboat comes in and so does Piper. The two men exchange blows in the ring and all four men enter the ring. Badd catches Lee with a cannonball dive outside the ring, distracting the official out there. Piper takes a chair and crashes it against the skull of Steamboat in the ring. Piper tosses the chair out and makes a cover: One, Two, Three! The attention turns to the top of the ramp as the Four Horsemen's music begins to play. Arn Anderson, Steve Williams and Terry Gordy all walk down to the ringside area holding up four fingers. They each set themselves up on three sides of the ring like lumberjacks. The jumbo-tron lights up to show EMTs attending to Dustin Rhodes backstage, obviously having been beaten down by the Horsemen prior to the match. A fan raises a sign reading: 'The Master of Stylin and Proflin' "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair!'</p><p> </p><p> Flair looks supremely confident in the ring and Windham looks a little worried. Windham takes the fight right to Flair in the early-going. The crowd is solidly behind Windham as he brings Flair to the mat with a few well-timed punches. Windham goes for the Iron Claw but Flair quickly rolls out of the ring and the Four Horsemen huddle in together, deciding on another strategy. They break and Flair gets in the ring before the ten count. Arn Anderson jumps on the apron and is taken down by a Windham right hand but the distraction is enough for Flair to catch Windham with a chop block from behind. The crowd boos as Flair takes control, focusing in on the knee of Barry Windham. The next few minutes are spent with Flair in control working on the knee with shinbreakers and yanks on the leg and even a ring post shot to the knee. Flair sends Windham out of the ring and then struts before distracting the official. Terry Gordy brings down Windham with a clothesline outside the ring before tossing him back inside. Flair smiles and bounces off the ropes -- diving knee drop! Flair releases a 'Whooooo' and then makes a cover:</p><p> </p><p> 1....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> 2....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> Kickout!</p><p> </p><p> The crowd goes wild for the kickout by Windham! Flair is NOT happy about it and he continues to work on the knee of Windham. He sets Windham up in a corner and begins lighting up his chest with knife-edge chops! He releases a 'Whooo' with each one and then slaps Windham across the face! The slap seems to wake Windham up and he reverses things, putting Flair in the corner and throwing punches. He whips Flair across the ring and Flair flips up and over the turnbuckle to the apron and then to the floor outside the ring. Windham celebrates a moment and then grimaces with the pain in his knee. The Horsemen help Flair get back into the ring and Windham calls for the Iron Claw! Windham reaches down to Flair, yanking him up and then raising his arm -- IRON CLAW! Windham has the iron claw fixed perfectly on Flair! Flair's arm flail around and around as he tries to figure out a way to break the hold. But he is slowly slipping into the grip of the Iron Claw, dropping to his knees. Windham pushes the Claw grip even more, bringing Flair down to his back. The referee sees Flair's shoulders down:</p><p> </p><p> 1....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> 2....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> 3!</p><p> </p><p> No! WAIT! The three count did NOT get there. Flair got his shoulder up at the last moment! Windham still keeps the hold on Flair with the Nature Boy continuing to fade. Arn Anderson climbs up onto the apron. Windham sees him and releases the hold, moving over to the WCW World Television Champion. Anderson looks ready to fight. Windham and Anderson argue, giving Flair a chance to recover inside the ring. Flair sneaks up behind Windham and shoves him, sending him into the referee! Anderson catches Windham with a cheap punch as Doc and Gordy enter the ring from behind him. A short-arm clothesline from Gordy sends Windham to the mat. Williams picks him up and lifts him on his shoulder -- Oklahoma Stampede! Windham is down and out on the mat! Anderson comes in and lays Flair on top of Windham, calling off the troops and reviving the referee. The referee leans over and counts:</p><p> </p><p> 1....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> 2....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> ....</p><p> </p><p> 3!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Ric Flair p. An angry Flair turns his attention to Windham, stomping on the former Horseman. He sets Windham up for the Figure 4 Leglock when 'American Made' begins to play! The crowd is on their feet as <strong>Hulk Hogan</strong> comes surging down to the ring with a steel chair in hand! Hogan slides in and cracks Anderson with the chair, who comes running at him. Hogan is swinging at anything that moves! Gordy and Williams form a barrier to let Flair escape out of the ring before they follow suit. Hogan rips off his shirt to cheers from the crowd. Hogan poses in the ring as the show comes to a close. He has kept his word on protecting Barry Windham...right?</p>

With War Games looming on the horizon, every WCW Saturday Night show is important. This WCW Saturday Night is no different. We here at Promotion Wars have learned that </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Hulk Hogan</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> will be revealing his entire team at the end of this WCW Saturday Night episode. We already know that on the other side the </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Four Horsemen</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> will be involved. But who will their fifth member be? Who will Hulk Hogan choose to stand by his side? Make sure you tune in and find out!</span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

And what a main event we have scheduled for you this evening. Stepping into the ring will be two members of that Four Horsemen unit: </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Ric Flair</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> and </span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>Arn Anderson</strong></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">. Four Horsemen Go Crazy!

"Malfunction detected."

"System Overload"

"Warning, Warning, Warning."

"System Overload Critical..."

[WCW Saturday Night opens inside the Dane County Coliseum where the fans are on their feet cheering for their favorite WCW wrestlers. The camera pans around the fans in attendance as the Jumbo-Tron begins to light up, showing: 'IV Horsemen' in gold lettering. The crowd boos mostly as the clip-clop of horses along cobblestone streets sounds throughout the Coliseum.]

[The fans turn their attention toward the ramp where Ric Flair steps out from the back first with that usual confident swagger. He is dressed in his usual blue and white sequined robe that shimmers as he takes each step. Behind him on his right side stands his #1 Enforcer, his best friend and the man that has stood by him for years. Dressed in a IV Horsemen t-shirt and trunks stands Arn Anderson. Behind the Enforcer and standing side by side are the tag team of the IV Horsemen. Also dressed in IV Horsemen t-shirts are 'Dr. Death' Steve Williams and 'Bam Bam' Terry Gordy. The four men make their way to the ring and step inside with Flair leading the pack. 'The Nature Boy' is given a microphone from someone standing at ringside and he raises it to his lips.]

[Flair begins with his usual talk about there being a party going on right here in Madison, Wisconsin. Soon the talk between the Four Horsemen turns to War Games, which is only a few weeks away. Arn Anderson talks about the Four Horsemen's history with War Games and how they are the best and the originators of gang violence. He says that Hogan is selfish and used to doing things on his own. That is going to be his downfall when it comes to War Games. These four men in the ring know how to do whatever it takes for the betterment of the team, not just a single individual. As the microphone is handed over to Steve Williams, he gets interrupted by an unexpected arrival.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/MickFoley.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/KevinSullivan.jpg

[That unexpected arrival comes in the form of the WCW World Tag Team Champions Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan. Cactus says that Ric Flair has no true idea what it's like to go down into the sewers and bleed and fight for that one last scrap of food. He says that is what he and Kevin Sullivan do every single day. They look for one scrap of power because neither of them were given anything. Flair lived life with a silver spoon and tonight Cactus says that it's time it gets ripped out of his mouth. Bang! Bang! The Four Horsemen huddle up in the ring for a moment, with Doc and Gordy each heard saying that they can take out those two chumps any time they want. When the huddle breaks, Flair says that tonight the tag champs are on but it won't be Doc and Gordy facing them. Tonight it will be the two original Horsemen members: Ric Flair and Arn Anderson that will be walking that aisle. And Cactus and Sullivan are gonna bleed all night long! Whoooooooo!]

Match #1: WCW World Tag Team Titles, #1 Contender Semifinals Match

'The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit and 'The Iceman' Dean Malenko vs. Stars 'n' Stripes

Our opening contest will determine one half of the tournament finals to determine who will face Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan at Fall Brawl. The match is back and forth, with both teams showing surprising abilities. The match is also fast-paced, with Bagwell catching Benoit and Malenko with a suicide dive through the ropes. The crowd really gets into it as each man seems to get an opportunity for victory, only to have it snatched away. Benoit heads for the top turnbuckle with Bagwell down on the mat. Benoit runs his thumb across his throat and then leaps -- diving headbutt -- misses! Bagwell rolled out of the way! Both men are slow to get up but Bagwell manages to tag in The Patriot, who comes running in with punches for both Benoit and Malenko. The Patriot catches Malenko with a powerslam and then turns his attention to Benoit, the legal man. He lifts Benoit in a delayed suplex position as Bagwell climbs his way to the top turnbuckle -- cross body from Bagwell! Bagwell jumps on Malenko and The Patriot makes the cover: One, Two, Three! Stars 'n' Stripes are moving on to the finals!

Captivating Chris?

[Following a commercial break, some unknown music begins to play and out from the back come what could be considered a lovely couple. One of them, the man, wears a robe distinctly similar to that of Rick Rude. When they enter the ring, the woman hands over a microphone. The man introduces himself as 'Captivating' Chris Candido. He says that he is the best looking man that has ever entered a WCW ring. In order to prove that, he tells 'Tammy' to remove his robe and prove it to the world. Tammy goes to do just that when they are interrupted.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/MarcMero.jpg

[it's Johnny B. Badd! Badd stands at the top of the ramp and says that he knows a little something about being pretty. He admits that the woman that Candido has with him is definitely pretty. He says that he is definitely pretty, as everyone already knows. But Captivating Chris? He's definitely not pretty. Candido yells at Badd, telling him to say that to his face. Badd says that he will be glad to do so...at Fall Brawl. He says the match has already been signed as Johnny B. Badd faces 'Captivating' Chris Candido. Badd tells Candido sorry about his badd luck and then walks off, leaving an angry and frustrated Candido in the ring.]

Mystery Assault

[Following that incident, we move to the backstage area where we find a lot of referees and paramedics and backstage staff circling around a single prone body. That body is that of Barry Windham! Windham is semi-conscious and being asked if he knows where he is and asked if he knows what happened to him. He has no idea who attacked him but he is bleeding from the forehead and one of the paramedics says that he is going to need stitches. In the background, the announcers wonder what's going to happen next since Windham is supposed to be in the next match.]

Harlem Heat vs. 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes and Barry Windham

What happens next is that Dustin Rhodes comes out to the ring alone to face off with the brother tag team known as Harlem Heat. Rhodes starts off strong, knowing that he will have to end the match quickly if he has a chance of winning and moving his tag team on to the finals. Rhodes catches Booker T with a lariat and makes an early cover but the pinfall is broken up by Stevie Ray, who tosses Rhodes out of the ring. Eddie Gilbert gets in a few cheap shots at ringside and then tosses Rhodes back inside. Rhodes is the victim of frequent double teams by Harlem Heat but shows a lot of intestinal fortitude in not letting his shoulders go down for the three count. A little over midway through the match, Barry Windham staggers his way down toward the ring with a large bandage over his forehead where the cut was shown earlier in the night. He gets up in the corner and claps his hands, trying to get Rhodes back into this. Rhodes does get back into the match, ducking a big boot attempt by Stevie Ray and taking the large man down with a slam. Rhodes crawls toward the corner, reaching for his partner. Stevie Ray does the same thing toward Booker T. Booker T gets tagged in first but so does Barry Windham! Windham comes in with punches, taking on both Booker T and Stevie Ray while his partner recovers! Windham catches Booker with a sunset flip: One, Two, Kickout! Rhodes comes back in and sends both himself and Stevie Ray over the top rope with a clothesline! Windham sets Booker T up on the top turnbuckle. He climbs up, preparing for a superplex -- then Windham falls to the mat! His eyes are glazed over as he lays on the mat, seemingly unconscious. Referee Randy Anderson steps in and speaks to Windham before calling for the bell, stopping the bout and awarding the win to Harlem Heat.

One More For War Games?

[As paramedics check on Barry Windham in the ring, we go to the backstage area where the two participants in the main event of the first ever Starrcade stand eye-to-eye. But this time they both have smiles on their faces and they shake hands. Ric Flair asks Harley Race if they can make it official and Race says that they can. The fifth member of the Four Horsemen team at Fall Brawl is none other than the man they call Vader! Vader huffs and growls in the background, posing. He says that he doesn't necessarily like you Ric Flair but he wants to get his hands on Sid Vicious inside the steel cage environment and he is sure that Hogan will announce Vicious as one of his teammates. Flair nods and says that it's already in the bag.]

Match #3

Disco Inferno vs. 'Flyin'' Brian Pillman

Our next match is a decent bout given the unknown quantity that is Disco Inferno. The crowd boos his dancing inside the ring and that just gives them more to cheer for when Flyin' Brian enters the ring. The match is thoroughly dominated by Flyin' Brian, showing off his talents, which include a tornado DDT on the dancing fool known as Disco Inferno. A few minutes in, Pillman catches Disco with a leg lariat and then sends Inferno outside the ring. Pillman climbs the turnbuckles and leaps, catching his opponent with a cross body block outside the ring! He soon sends Inferno back in and then climbs on the apron, waiting for Inferno to get to his feet -- Air Pillman! The springboard lariat connects and Pillman makes the cover: One, Two, Three!

Tex Slazenger vs. 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock

Instead of a backstage or interview segment, we simply go back to the ring for another bout. This one features the in-ring debut of the World's Most Dangerous Man Ken Shamrock as he takes on Tex Slazenger. Shamrock shows off his skills in the ring early and often, bringing Slazenger down with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex and then focusing in on the leg and particularly the ankle of Slazenger. In less than six minutes, Shamrock grabs the ankle of Slazenger and hooks on an ankle lock. Slazenger has no choice but to submit, giving Shamrock the impressive win in his debut here in WCW.

Argument, Leads To A Match

[With that, we move to the backstage area where Arn Anderson is shown walking down a hallway alone. His walk takes him right into the area where an ambulance is leaving, presumably with Barry Windham inside. Anderson turns to leave and comes face-to-face with Dustin Rhodes! Rhodes says that he knows the Horsemen have something to do with what happened to Barry Windham tonight! Anderson denies that it was the doing of the Horsemen. He says that they would have spoken up if they were the ones who attacked Windham because the Horsemen have no problem owning up to their attacks. Rhodes says that he doesn't trust Anderson and should have listened to his father before teaming with him earlier in the year. He says that he wants revenge for this attack and wants Anderson in the ring next week here on WCW Saturday Night. Anderson says he's fine with that but that he should know that he's barking up the wrong tree.]

Last Man Standing

[The transition comes from the backstage area to the office of WCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel is sitting behind his desk and has the former WCW United States Champion Steve Austin standing in front of him. Bockwinkel says that the feud between Austin and Brian Pillman needs an ending. We need a satisfying conclusion to determine who is the better man. Austin says he proved it at the Clash when he pinned Pillman and doesn't need to prove anything else. Bockwinkel disagrees and says that at Fall Brawl there will be one more match between Austin and Pillman. This one, though, will be contested under Last Man Standing rules! Austin's eyes go wide and he looks irate! He tosses the desk of Nick Bockwinkel before he exits, cursing under his breath.]

'Prime Time' Brian Lee vs. Scott Armstrong

Our next contest has almost non-existent crowd heat as Brian Lee takes on one of the Armstrong kin. This is another match dominated by one side and the crowd is not surprised which side is dominant. Roddy Piper smiles at ringside as Brian Lee demolishes Scott Armstrong. Piper jaws with a fan who holds up a sign reading: 'Prime Time on WCW Saturday Night=Ratings!' The man known as Prime Time picks up Scott Armstrong and brings him crashing to the mat with a Tombstone Piledriver. Another fan raises a sign reading: 'Is it Prime Time or Vader Time now?' Lee answers that when he pulls Armstrong up and drops him with the move known as the Cancellation! Lee makes the cover with one finger: One, Two, Three!

Harlem, New Jersey, California Attack

[Once again here on WCW Saturday Night, we head to the backstage area. This time we see the man known as Sting fighting alone against three members of Hot Stuff International: Harlem Heat and Bam Bam Bigelow! Sting puts up a good fight but the numbers game proves to be too much for him and he gets put down with a Harlem Sidekick by Booker T. All three men put the boots to Sting with Bigelow telling him to stay down and not to come out for the Warrior match later on tonight. Booker T calls him a sucka and the three men walk away when security steps in.]

You Want My Stipulation?

[We move from there to the interview area where Gene Okerlund tells everyone to make sure they call the WCW hotline for all the latest news and inside scoops! Then he introduces his guest at this time, none other than the WCW United States Champion 'The Dragon' Ricky Steamboat! Steamboat comes out to a good crowd ovation and Okerlund goes right into the interview, asking Steamboat if he has thought about a stipulation for a fight between himself and Roddy Piper. Steamboat says that he has and he thinks he has one that will settle the score between himself and the Hot Rod. War Games is coming up at Fall Brawl and what better way to settle a score than for the two of them to face off inside a War Games steel cage. That means there is no way out, no way for anyone to get in because of the lid over the top and two rings to do battle in. So if Roddy Piper wants another shot at the title? He'll have to go through War to do it. Okerlund says that is an amazing idea but let's go back to the ring for our next contest.]

Match #6

Diamond Dallas Page vs. Warrior

Another in-ring debut for WCW Saturday Night. This one featuring the WCW in-ring debut of Warrior as he takes on a member of Hot Stuff International in Diamond Dallas Page. This match lasts a little longer than some might have anticipated as DDP gets in a few good moves on the musclebound Warrior. DDP catches Warrior with a flapjack and then points to a sign in the crowd: 'Warrior is NOT Hot Stuff material!' DDP moves in for the Diamond Cutter but gets thrown off by Warrior. Warrior gets the crowd behind him and begins shaking the ropes before going into multiple running clotheslines on DDP! DDP tries to shake off the clotheslines but he gets immediately caught in a military press! Warrior drops DDP behind him and then bounces off the ropes -- Big Splash! Warrior hooks the leg: One, Two, Three!

'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair and 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson vs. Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan

The crowd here Wisconsin are definitely happy with the last match but the boos reign forth when two members of the Horsemen come out to face the WCW World Tag Team Champions! The four men go eye-to-eye in the ring during the early goings and things break down in a hurry between these two teams. Within moments, all four men are fighting in the ring. Flair has Sullivan on one side, lacing his chest with chops. Anderson has Jack on another side, exchanging punches. Jack starts to get the advantage on Anderson, firing off a clothesline that brings the Enforcer to the mat. Jack comes over to help Sullivan and Flair is the victim of a double back drop by the champs! Flair and Anderson quickly exit the ring to regroup and out from the back come Steve Williams and Terry Gordy to stand in the corner of the Four Horsemen, staring at Jack and Sullivan with angry eyes from ringside.

The match re-enters the ring and Jack and Sullivan resume their control over the Horsemen, specifically the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair! Several double team moves from the champs brings Flair to the mat again and again but he kicks out each time Jack or Sullivan goes for a pin. Jack picks Flair up from the mat and rests him against the ropes, hitting him with a Cactus Clothesline that sends both men to the floor! Cactus Jack is the first up, giving his Bang Bang taunt to the crowd. He climbs to the apron and looks down at the prone body of the Nature Boy. He comes running across and leaps but there is nobody home for the Elbow Drop! Terry Gordy pulled Flair out of the way as Anderson had distracted the referee! Gordy rolls Flair in by his corner and Anderson tags himself in. Anderson pulls Cactus back into the ring and catches him with punches before striking him with a Spinebuster! Anderson drags his thumb across his throat and makes the cover:

One....

....

....

....

Two....

....

....

....

Broken Up By Kevin Sullivan!

The pinfall might have been broken up but the Horsemen are definitely in control. Anderson and Flair use frequent tags in and out, keeping the pressure on Cactus Jack specifically, making sure he cannot tag out to Kevin Sullivan. The crowd definitely gets behind the tag champs but Flair drops a knee to the skull of Jack and then points out a sign in the crowd: 'The Horsemen Runnin' Wild on Hulkamania!' Flair tags out to Anderson and the momentum changes when Anderson heads to the top turnbuckle. Anderson leaps with his hands set for a double axehandle but instead he catches a punch to the stomach by Cactus Jack! Jack smiles through the pain as he begins moving toward his corner. The crowd is ready to pop as Cactus tags in Kevin Sullivan!

Sullivan comes in like a house on fire! He strikes Anderson! He strikes Flair! He sends Flair to the turnbuckles and Flair flips up and over, landing on the apron and running across to the other side. Flair climbs the turnbuckles and leaps -- double axehandle -- hits Arn Anderson! Anderson goes down and Flair goes wide-eyed at what he's done. Sullivan grabs Flair and ties him up in the tree of woe! Sullivan backs up into the opposite corner and comes running in but Flair gets pushed out of the way, again, by Terry Gordy! Sullivan strikes his knee against the turnbuckle, grabbing it and grimacing in pain. Arn Anderson has the referee as Steve Williams enters the ring. Dr. Death approaches Sullivan but is taken out at the last moment by a Cactus Clothesline! The crowd pops huge for that but Terry Gordy enters the ring and catches Sullivan with an Asiatic Spike! Sullivan is put down to the mat and Flair moves in. He ushers Gordy to ringside and makes the cover, placing his feet on the ropes:

One....

....

....

....

Two....

....

....

....

Three!

War Games Team Revealed

['American Made' gets the crowd back into a positive mood as out from the back comes one of the most popular wrestlers of all-time Hulk Hogan! Hogan shakes hands with the fans at ringside as he walks down to the ring. As usual, he has a microphone in hand and is ready to talk. He tells his Hulkamaniacs that he may not be a War Games specialist like the Horsemen are, brothers, but he knows how to fight and he knows how to wrestle. Those are two things that are necessary for War Games. He has also picked out some guys who know a bit about War Games themselves and tonight he is here to introduce his team. The first dude he picked out is a man who has been in War Games before. He's a man that even he doesn't know if he can trust him or not. But who can trust a psycho? That man is none other than Psycho Sid Vicious!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/SidVicious.jpg

[The crowd does cheer for the arrival of Sid Vicious. Vicious enters the ring by way of stepping over the top rope and then shakes hands with Hogan. Vicious takes the microphone and says that he is looking forward to the pain of War Games. He says that he wants to bleed and make others bleed and pay the price. Who's the man? Hogan takes back the microphone to introduce the next two men who will be a part of his War Games team. One of them, unfortunately is in the hospital right now. But he will be more than ready to go when it's time for War Games. It's the team of Dustin Rhodes and Barry Windham!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/DustinRhodes.jpg

[Dustin Rhodes comes out alone, looking a little worse for wear after his tag team match earlier this evening. When he enters the ring he shakes hands with Hogan and stares at Vicious for a moment before getting on the microphone and wishing Barry Windham well at the hospital this evening. He says that he will look forward to getting revenge on the Horsemen at War Games. He's going to take it out of their hides, Natural style. Hogan is given the microphone one more time and he introduces the fifth member of his team. This man, he says, is a real American and someone that everyone should be proud of. He's also someone who has a hard head and is hard to hurt. This last member of the team is 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/JimDuggan.jpg

[A 'USA' chant breaks out through the crowd as Jim Duggan comes out waving Old Glory in one hand and a 2X4 in the other! Duggan enters the ring and looks between the men in the ring before giving Hogan a hug and then waving the flag all around all four corners of the ring. Hogan says that there we have it. The men he will be going into War with. Whatcha gonna do, Horsemen, when the power of these five men and Hulkamania runs wild over you!?!?! The show ends with a celebration of these five men in the ring.]

Comments On Last Show: Glad to see you're still in 94 with me, brutha! The reveal of Duggan was surprising just because I hadn't thought of it before. I'm digging "Captivating" Chris Candido, and the feud with Badd should be some Wrestlecrap-worthy goodness. Awesome that the main event netted you a solid B+ there! You certainly wrote it to be a good one.</p>

I may be a little slow in getting the shows up but this diary is still alive. The Captivating Chris Candido is definitely a bit of a rip-off of Rick Rude but it's intended to be that way. I am glad that the main event got a good solid grade and thank you for your words about enjoying it. I am still enjoying your 1994 diary as well, my friend. You are definitely a great writer.</p><p> </p><p> Just an FYI, I am hoping to get the show up within the next day or so. Saturday, week 2, September 1994

Taped from The Birmingham-Jefferson Arena, Birmingham, AL.

Broadcast via TBS at 6:05 PM EST...

WCW presents...

WCW SATURDAY NIGHT

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/HulkHogan.jpg

Face To Face!

"Malfunction detected."

"System Overload"

"Warning, Warning, Warning."

"System Overload Critical..."

[The show opens with the crowd going absolutely wild. 'American Made' is playing in the background and Hulk Hogan is standing inside the ring with his WCW World Heavyweight Title belt over his right shoulder. The man known as The Immortal says that in a little over a week we are going to go into War Games. We are going into the most brutal match that WCW has ever come up with. We are seeing the most brutal match in the history of Hulkamania. But Hogan says that he has the backing of these over 13 thousand Hulkamaniacs in the crowd tonight and the millions of Hulkamaniacs watching at home and he knows that he is going to walk away from War Games with a victory and the ability to choose a stipulation for his rematch with Ric Flair at Halloween Havoc. Nature Boy, Hogan says, whatcha gonna do?]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/HarleyRace.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/Vader.jpg

[Hogan's catchphrase is interrupted by the arrival of Harley Race and Vader. The crowd boos this arrival but they don't seem to notice or care as Vader has his eyes completely set on Hogan and the WCW World Heavyweight Title belt. The two men enter the ring but Hogan doesn't back down. Instead he comes face to face with the man he might be facing at Starrcade this year. Race has a microphone and says that he only has a few words for Hogan right now. He tells Hogan that he better hope that he doesn't survive War Games or that he loses his title to Ric Flair at Halloween Havoc. Because if he survives and goes into Starrcade as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, he is going to get crushed into a red and yellow stain on the mat by this man Vader. Vader steps even closer to Hogan, nose-to-nose. He knocks the title belt off the shoulder of Hogan and to the mat. Vader asks Hogan 'Who's the Man?' Hogan takes a tentative step backward and then points to this crowd, who begins a 'Hogan' chant. Hogan rips off the red and yellow Hulkamania t-shirt he is wearing. The crowd gets even louder. Vader leans over and picks up the title belt. He stares at it for a moment and then tosses it to Hogan, telling him to keep it warm for him. Vader smiles and he and Race walk away without physical incident.]

Arrival Of The Four Horsemen

[in a segment labeled 'Earlier Tonight,' we move from the ring to the parking lot where a long black stretch limousine pulls up to the back door of the arena. The driver gets out and opens the door to reveal Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Steve Williams and Terry Gordy. All four men flash four fingers, with Flair releasing a 'Whoooooo.' Flair looks into the camera and says that tonight the Four Horsemen are going to ride all night long. Whoooooo!]

Match #1: WCW World Television Title Match, 15 Minute Time Limit

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/ArnAnderson.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/VS.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/DustinRhodes.jpg

'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson defends vs. 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes

Our opening contest here on WCW Saturday Night features one of those Four Horsemen: Arn Anderson as he takes on an angry Natural Dustin Rhodes. Rhodes lets his anger guide him in the early goings against The Enforcer and gains a couple of quick near falls, trying to take away the title from Arn Anderson. Anderson ducks out of the ring following blocking a running bulldog attempt, trying to catch a breath. Within moments, Rhodes follows him outside and Anderson sends Rhodes into the ring post. The match flows back inside the ring and a little uncharacteristically Anderson chooses to focus his attention on the right knee of Rhodes. He looks a little more like Ric Flair in this match as he yanks on the knee and uses a kneebar to nearly draw a submission from Rhodes. Anderson continues on this way of attacking as the announcer says that ten minutes have gone by. There's only five minutes remaining! As this is spoken, the remaining members of the Four Horsemen walk down to stand at ringside. Anderson sends Rhodes to the ropes and catches him with an Anderson Spinebuster! A fan in the crowd raises a sign that reads: 'SPINEBUSTER!' Anderson drags his thumb across his throat and goes for a Figure 4 Leglock but Rhodes pushes him off to the mat! Rhodes grabs the ropes to pull himself up as Anderson charges at him. Rhodes avoids the charge, sending Anderson into the corner. Rhodes climbs the turnbuckle, leaning heavily on his left leg and begins throwing punches, securing ten in a row! He drops down and cringes when he lands on that right leg. The Natural catches Anderson with a couple of punches and then a bionic elbow that knocks Anderson back to the mat. Rhodes catches a quick breather and then picks Anderson up, hooking him in a headlock -- Running Bulldog! Rhodes holds onto his knee, wincing in pain for several long seconds before he is able to roll over and make the cover: One, Two, DING DING DING!

A Natural Attack

[The bell rang, signifying that this match ends in a time limit draw! Dustin Rhodes looks absolutely spent in the ring but in come the Four Horsemen. Ric Flair leads the charge. Steve Williams and Terry Gordy help Arn Anderson to his feet. Flair sets up Rhodes in a corner and begins lacing him with chops. Rhodes fires back a couple of punches, fighting his way out of the corner but Dr. Death strikes him with a chop block to that hurt knee. Flair orchestrates things, telling Williams and Anderson to hold Rhodes on the mat as Gordy goes outside and gets a chair. Gordy climbs to the second turnbuckle as Rhodes's right leg is stretched out. Gordy leaps and comes down with a chair to the knee! The crowd boos this all-out assault on Dustin Rhodes! The Four Horsemen stand tall in the ring, each raising four fingers to show the might of the Horsemen. What kind of shape will Dustin Rhodes be in for War Games in 8 days?]

Match Agreed To For Next Week!

[We go backstage to see exactly why one man did not come out to help Dustin Rhodes a few moments ago. Jim Duggan's way to the ring is being blocked by the man they call Vader. Vader smiles, laughing, threatening Duggan to do something about it. Duggan raises the 2X4 but Vader ignores it. Vader reminds Duggan that he has already taken out the Guardian Angel and came very close to taking out the Hacksaw. Vader says that if he has another chance, he won't make that same mistake again. Duggan challenges him to a match right here next week on WCW Saturday Night! Vader laughs and agrees, shoving Duggan backward and walking out of his path.]

Who's Prettier?

[back to the ring where we see the lady from last week, Tammy Lynn Sytch, walk out alone to the ring and pick up a microphone. She says that she has a few words to speak to a certain wrestler, who interrupted her and her man last week. So she calls out Johnny B. Badd. Badd comes out from the back and walks into the ring, coming face-to-face with Sytch. Badd tells her that he has no idea what she could want from him. Maybe some style tips? Maybe he could teach her how to be pretty like him? She gets upset at his comments and goes to slap him but he catches her wrist. Her eyes go wide but Badd is assaulted from behind by Chris Candido! The crowd boos the ambush assault as Candido trips Badd to the mat and then drops a couple of elbows. He picks up Badd and moves over to a corner, climbing up with Badd. He pulls Badd up and lands a Superbomb that we learn is called the Blonde Bombshell! Badd is planted on the mat and Sytch throws in a stomp for good measure. Candido raises his arm up high in the air and does a hip swivel for the crowd before heading to the back with Sytch.]

Harlem Heat vs. Stars 'n' Stripes

Both of these two teams have gone through several matches to get here as we come to the finals of the tournament to determine which team will face Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan for the WCW World Tag Team Titles at Fall Brawl. The match itself is an open match between the two teams, with both getting an equal share of the advantage and several near falls throughout the contest. Booker T and Stevie Ray try to isolate Marcus Bagwell in their corner and use several vicious double-team moves to keep him down but he manages to kick out of each of them. Booker T goes for a move he calls the Book-End but Bagwell elbows his way free and a double clothesline sends both men to the mat. Both men turn, crawling toward their corners. The referee begins a ten count on both men. Booker T is the first to tag in Stevie Ray. Stevie steps in but doesn't stop Bagwell from tagging in The Patriot! The Patriot throws punches and a clothesline to Booker T, who came back in the ring. The Patriot gets the crowd fired up and then heads to the top turnbuckle, perching there. He waits for Stevie Ray to get to his feet -- Patriot Missle! A flying shoulderblock sends Ray down and The Patriot makes the cover: One, Two, Broken Up By Booker T! Marcus Bagwell comes back in the ring and we have a four way brawl! Bagwell ends up sending Booker T over the top rope with a back body drop and then heads to the top turnbuckle. The Patriot shows his power by lifting Stevie Ray in a delayed vertical suplex position. Bagwell leaps, catching Ray with a cross body! The Patriot rolls over into a cover: One, Two, Three! Stars 'n' Stripes are headed to Fall Brawl!

The Blade Runners Return!

[We move down to the interview area where Gene Okerlund is standing by, telling everyone about the WCW 900 hotline. Make sure you call it today! Then he introduces his guests at this time. They are the team of Sting and Warrior! The two men come down slapping the hands of the fans before they reach the interview area. Okerlund asks them about their upcoming match with two members of Hot Stuff International. Sting tells them that it doesn't matter who is chosen by Eddie Gilbert because the Blade Runners are prepared for any combination of men. They have no fear of Hot Stuff International. Warrior grabs the microphone and goes on a rant, telling the world that he plans to take Hot Stuff International through the desert and leave them for dead in the sands of the Sahara, or something to that effect. Sting just shrugs and flexes before we are sent back to the ring for our next contest.]

Brian Armstrong vs. 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan

That next contest features an early USA chant by the crowd in favor of Jim Duggan. Duggan ignores a sign in the crowd that declares 'Hogan's team sucks!' Instead, he focuses his attention on the fast-paced Brian Armstrong. The match is heavily weighted in the favor of the veteran Duggan, who is getting prepared to meet Vader next week. Duggan catches Armstrong with a scoop slam and then gets down in a three point stance in the corner. He waits for Armstrong to get to his feet and charges -- running clothesline tackle! Armstrong is knocked out of his boots! Duggan makes a cover: One, Two, Three!

Hot Stuff International Going Downhill?

[We go to the backstage area and into the locker room of Hot Stuff International. This includes the leader, Eddie Gilbert, as well as Bam Bam Bigelow, Diamond Dallas Page, Diamond Doll and Harlem Heat! Gilbert is angry with his team for the recurring losses that seem to keep coming against the stable. He says that he did not recreate Hot Stuff International to keep a bunch of losers. He lifts a chair and slams it against a locker. He says that everyone in this stable is on probation and that they had better start showing themselves, proving why he should keep them on the payroll. He walks out of the locker room, leaving the rest of the members to contemplate their future.]

'The Canadian Crippler' Chris Benoit vs. 'Psycho' Sid Vicious

This is a classic David Versus Goliath style of match with Benoit facing Sid. The early goings see Benoit trying to use some speed against Vicious and keep away from getting grabbed by the larger man. Benoit focuses in on the knee of Vicious, getting him down to one knee but he soon makes the mistake of trying to go for a German Suplex on Vicious. Vicious blocks the move and breaks the grip of Benoit, whipping him into a corner. Vicious continues an assault with a sidewalk slam and then whips Benoit to the ropes, felling him with a big boot. Vicious remains in control for the most part of the match, with Benoit having periodic bouts of a comeback. That is, until, Vicious grabs Benoit around the throat. Vicious lifts Benoit and drops him to the mat with a Chokeslam. Vicious makes a cover: One, Two, Three.

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/RickySteamboat.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/WCW_94/BrianPillman.jpg

'Rowdy' Roddy Piper and 'Stunning' Steve Austin vs. Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat and 'Flyin'' Brian Pillman

Now it is time for the main event and what a match this should be between four men who might be future hall-of-famers! We have four separate entrances, beginning with the heels. Austin and Piper stand in a corner while Pillman is introduced. Pillman enters and the ring and Austin and Piper go right after him! Pillman tries to fight back against the double-team and receives help as Ricky Steamboat comes running into the ring to even up the odds. Steamboat puts Austin in a corner, while Pillman is battling with Piper in another corner! They both climb up and begin raining down punches on their respective opponent! The crowd counts along with both men, reaching ten before they drop down and send Austin and Piper flying outside the ring. Steamboat and Pillman stand back to back in the ring, showing some solidarity between the two men.

The match moves back down to a one on one in the ring encounter as Pillman and Piper stand outside the ring, leaving Steamboat and Austin inside the ring. Steamboat catches Austin with two picture perfect armdrags and then a dropkick, knocking Austin back into a corner. Steamboat follows him in and begins lacing with chops. Austin fires back with punches. Austin grabs Steamboat and turns him back in the corner, kicking him in the gut several times, sending Steamboat down to the mat. Austin smiles and lands a kick to the face of Steamboat for good measure as the referee threatens him with a DQ for staying in the corner. Austin goes over to Pillman and shoves him, drawing Pillman into the ring and the referee over to send Pillman back out. Piper enters the ring and both men attack Steamboat behind the referee's back. Piper becomes the 'legal man' as Austin exits the ring and he begins working over Steamboat. Within a few minutes, Piper catches Steamboat with a running kneelift and makes a cover:

One....

....

....

....

Two....

....

....

....

Kickout!

There is still a whole lot left in the Dragon! The WCW United States Champion may be down but he is not out. The next few minutes are spent with tags in and out between Austin and Piper, focusing in on The Dragon. There are times where Steamboat is sent out of the ring and Brian Lee gets a few shots at him, sending Steamboat into the guardrail, nearly causing Steamboat to get counted out. Steamboat makes it back inside before the ten count, though, only to get double-teamed by Piper and Austin. Austin makes the 'camera reel' motion when he has Steamboat on the mat, drawing boos from the crowd. The momentum shifts when Austin sends Steamboat to a turnbuckle and Steamboat manages to get a boot in the air, knocking Austin backward. Steamboat clips the knee of Austin and both men go to the mat. Both men look to make tags, crawling toward their corners. Austin tags in Piper and then leaps for Steamboat but he cannot catch him and in comes Brian Pillman off the tag!

Pillman picks up the pace of this match tremendously, catching both Piper and Austin with flying headscissors! Pillman continues in control against both of his opponents and in comes Steamboat to even the odds once again! Pillman pulls Piper to the top turnbuckle and then hooks him -- Superplex! Steamboat sends Austin over the top rope with a clothesline! The referee begins pulling Steamboat out of the ring as Pillman goes outside, preparing to go for Air Pillman! He leaps on the ropes as a springboard and is grabbed from outside the ring by Brian Lee! Lee tosses him off the ropes and down onto the guardrail! Pillman looks like he was just in a bad car wreck! His body is all sorts of mangled! Steamboat enters the ring again to go after Piper and Piper pokes the eye of Steamboat before rolling him into a small package in the ring. The referee drops down to make the count:

One....

....

....

....

Two....

....

....

Three!

[Roddy Piper and Steve Austin are declared the winners of this match but wasn't it Brian Pillman who was the legal man? Did Pillman just get screwed by the officials again? Brian Lee tosses Pillman back into the ring and Austin spits down on him before picking him up -- Pillman shoves his arms upward and begins throwing punches! Ricky Steamboat gets involved and this is a three on two brawl that the good guys seem to be getting the better of! Steamboat sends Lee over the top rope with a clothesline! Officials come running out to break up this wild brawl as the show goes off the air! We'll see you tomorrow on WCW Main Event!]

Disco Inferno vs. 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright

Comment: Don't remember if you're running with undefeated Alex like I am or not, but I don't look for him to drop to Disco either way.

Alex Wright is undefeated in WCW at the moment. Though he did lose to Warlord down in the WCW Training Center (developmental fed)

'The Man They Call' Vader vs. 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan

Comment: It PAINS me to go this way, but Duggan's match at Fall Brawl is a higher profile than Vader's. Maybe by DQ?

Both of them are in the same match at Fall Brawl. It's currently signed to be The Horsemen and Vader versus Hulk Hogan, Sid Vicious, Dustin Rhodes, Barry Windham and Jim Duggan. You might be thinking of Vader's Halloween Havoc match upcoming with Sid Vicious?

The Patriot vs. Cactus Jack

Comment: Face vs face huh? Interesting path to take.

Yep. At the moment, I am making the WCW World Tag Team Titles match face versus face. But those can occasionally happen, right?

Benoit is definitely a ratings machine. But that's just because he was always so damn talented in the ring. It's such a shame what happened in real life. He has had a Hall of Fame worthy career in my opinion, tarnished by the way his and his wife's and son's lives ended.

Glad you're enjoying the build for Fall Brawl. Still some interesting chess moves to be made, though. :)

I like your take on The Four Horsemen. I've often toyed around with what would be an interesting incarnation of them, but it had never occured to me to add Williams and Gordy - yet when I see you do it, it seems so natural. Nicely done.

Thanks for your comments on my take on the Four Horsemen. Everyone seems to enjoy that and I think it would have worked had this happened in real life. Terry Gordy is used to being in a group (Freebirds, of course) and Steve Williams, I think, would have fallen in line to be an Enforcer to Flair and Anderson. It is sad to think that both Gordy and Williams have passed away in real life.

Also, I wanted to say thank you to Hive for the 1994 mod that you created that helped me to create this diary. I appreciate all the hard work that went into you creating this mod.

I want every one of my readers to know that I have made the decision to bring this diary to a close. It's becoming a little more like work more and more here lately (which is why there was a short pause around a couple of months ago). It has been my longest lasting diary on TEW 2013, lasting over five months in real life. Within the next few days, I plan to post all of my future plans for the diary, including the winners of Fall Brawl, etc. I had some plans going all the way to Starrcade. Thank you to all of my readers. I really appreciate it.

Oh man, my praise was the kiss of death...

It definitely wasn't you, trust me. My life has just gotten very busy right now with a new job and other things going on. This decision was a long-time in coming. That being said, here are some future plans that I had for this diary.

WCW Saturday Night

-Opens With Piper's Pit and Ricky Steamboat as the special guest. This is set up to be a distraction so that Chris Benoit can attack Steamboat, hitting him with the diving headbutt and the Crippler Crossface.

-In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Arn Anderson defeated Brian Pillman in 9:31 by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage.

-Nick Bockwinkel informs Hulk Hogan that he must defend the WCW World Heavyweight title next week on WCW Saturday Night so that he keeps the 30 day title defense rule. The opponent will be decided by the Championship Committee

-The Eliminators cut a promo hyping a match against the Rock 'n' Roll Express at Fall Brawl

-In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Alex Wright defeated Disco Inferno in 6:12 by pinfall with a Bridging German Suplex.

-In a match that had some good action but non-existent crowd heat, Ken Shamrock defeated Dean Malenko in 5:45 by submission with an Ankle Lock.

-The Blade Runners come out and cut a promo on Hot Stuff International. They are interrupted by Harlem Heat and a brawl ensues.

-In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Vader defeated Jim Duggan in 6:17 when Vader beat up Jim Duggan so badly that the referee had to stop the match.

-Vader takes out Duggan post-match with a vicious Power Bomb on the concrete outside the ring, leaving Hulk Hogan's War Games team one man short.

-In a match that had some good action and average heat, Barry Windham defeated Steve Williams in 10:36 when Steve Williams was disqualified when Terry Gordy ran in and attacked Barry Windham.

-A Posedown is begun between Chris Candido and Johnny B. Badd. A winner is never determined as Candido attacks Badd while Badd is posing.

-In a match that had some good action and average heat, The Patriot defeated Cactus Jack in 9:38 by pinfall with a Top Rope Elbow.

-In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Ricky Steamboat defeated Chris Benoit in 14:21 by pinfall with a Diving Crossbody.

-Roddy Piper comes in and attacks Ricky Steamboat after the match, leaving The Dragon laying.

-Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan cut a promo going back and forth in the ring. This results in a brawl between the two War Games teams as the show goes off the air.

WCW Fall Brawl

-The Eliminators d. The Rock 'n' Roll Express

-Chris Candido d. Johnny B. Badd

-Harlem Heat l. to The Blade Runners

-Steve Austin l. to Brian Pillman - Last Man Standing Match

-Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan l. to Stars 'n' Stripes - change of WCW World Tag Team Champions

-Ricky Steamboat d. Roddy Piper - Steel Cage Match, WCW United States Title defense

-In the War Games match, The Four Horsemen and Vader take on Hulk Hogan, Dustin Rhodes, Barry Windham and Sid Vicious. All sides get into the ring and the buzzer sounds for the final member of Hogan's team. After a short period of waiting, none other than The Macho Man Randy Savage comes running into the ring! This lifts Hogan's team but Vader is pretty dominant in this match, even against Sid Vicious. Terry Gordy ends up stopping the match after several Power Bombs and Chokeslams by Sid Vicious, allowing Hogan to pick the stipulation for his match with Ric Flair at Halloween Havoc.

Coming Soon: Halloween Havoc and Starrcade
