APWF:The Ballad of Mad Dog Mortimer…nobody is going to read this so what is the point

Recommended Posts

<p>For the APWF Heavyweight Championship:</p><p>

<strong>Bulldozer Brandon Smith©</strong> vs. Mobstar</p><p>

<em>Mobstar would be my current pick as next champion but obviously that isn´t happening yet since this is Brandon´s first title defense.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Leftie Wilkes</strong> vs. Mad Dog Mortimer</p><p>

<em>Personally, I would give Leftie a win here but that´s partly because I like him more than Mortimer.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Blues Boys </strong>vs. Snead & Snow</p><p>

<em>Going against my favorites this time around for the simple reason that Blues Boys are 0-2 against Snead & Snow and seems to be feuding with them so Boys need a win back to keep the feud alive.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Kip Keenan & Riley McManus vs. <strong>Lug Phelan & Curtis Jenkins</strong></p><p>

<em>Pretty even match up here but I figure that this will end up with Jenkins cheating his way to víctory against McManus.</em></p>

For what its worth I'm really digging Lug, Riley and Kip. Normally I'd say that I hate to see Lug lose two matches in a row but I will say that I've noticed a lot of your matches seem to be very clean which is nice heel or face they seem to be picking up wins cleanly. Lug is by far my favorite character so far great job with him.

Though I will say that updates for this will not be as fast as I am still doing the SWF diary. I would like to say I will get a show out for each of them every other week but I know that probably will not happen. So if this diary goes dark for a couple of weeks you know why it has. It does not mean it is dead.</p>

<p>Well maybe as a prediction prize you can get the readers to help with the match-making <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bulldozer Brandon Smith</strong> vs. FCW Superstar Titan</p><p>

<em>No way he loses, right?</em></p><p>

Riley McManus vs. Kip Keenan vs. Lug Phelan vs. <strong>Curtis Jenkins </strong></p><p>

<em>Two feuds joined in one match? As you said, Lug and Kip aren't too high up on the card, so I guess we have to go with Jerk-ins</em></p><p>

<strong>Elroy Blues</strong> vs. ??? (Not a current member of the APWF roster)</p><p>

<em>By "not current," do you mean he's going to join the roster, or he's a guest via the alliance?</em></p><p>

<p>I usually do not like to do bumps like this but I just wanted to address who Sudden Impact are. They are not a team in the default data, they are a team that I created for this promotion. </p><p> </p><p>

In the default data Devyn Retribution starts out working for Grimm SoCal Wrestling. Nate DeMarcus debuts in May of 2013 as a graduate from the Mid Atlantic Boot Camp. </p><p> </p><p>

In regards to michgcs' not current question:</p><p> </p><p>

The worker is a new worker who I had just picked up. He is not coming over via a talent trade.</p>

and Kip all had very good reasons to destroy Lug and destroy the Angriest Man in Wrestling is exactly what they did. <br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>All three men took their turns beating the living crap out of the hard-hitting Irishman, Lug tried to escape the ring but there was nowhere for him to go.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>Lug pleaded with Curtis for mercy, telling the man who he betrayed the previous month that he was sorry for his transgressions but this did Lug no good as Curtis continued to aid his other two opponents in the destruction of Lug.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>The highlight of this part of the match was when Riley and Curtis nailed Lug with a High Seas (Total Elimination) which was their finisher when they were a tag team.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>While Riley and Curtis argued over who should cover Lug for the pin, Kip quickly covered Lug for the pinfall thus eliminating Lug from the match.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>Curtis left the ring upon Lug’s elimination and watched eagerly as Riley and Kip went at it inside the ring.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>Curtis only reentered the ring if he felt that he had the chance to pick up a cheap pinfall.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>Both Kip and Riley grew tired of Curtis’ cowardly antics and so they both teamed up to go after Curtis.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>Curtis was able to knock Riley out of the ring and down on to the arena floor.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>However, when he turned around to face Kip, Kip hit Curtis with a vicious Lariat which knocked Curtis down.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>Kip then managed to hit Curtis with three Belly to Belly Suplexes in a row he then eliminated Curtis from the match after pinning him.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>Riley reentered the ring and he and Kip walked into the center of the ring.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>The two combatants show each other the highest form of respect as they shook hands before engaging each other.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>Even though both me have a tremendous amount of respect for one another, that did not mean they held back as each man nailed the other with thundering chops to the chest, vicious body strikes, and swift kicks to their opponents legs.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>The crowd was going nuts as each man would mirror the offensive strikes of their opponent.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>Finally Riley was able to get the momentum to swing his way and due to this he was able to Slingshot Suplex Kip down on to the canvas.<br /> <br /> <br /></li><li>Riley then pinned Kip to secure the victory and become the new number one contender.</li></ul><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner and new number one contender for the Then again I guess he has mostly been fighting with Blues Boys so opponents haven´t been all that great either. <p>-It must've been all those wins over the Blues Bros that blinded me into picking S&S. Glad to see there's a better team out there <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

-Also, Q-Double looks awesome lol </p><p> </p><p>

-Riley winning was certainly a surprise, it's gonna be interesting to see how you book the match.</p><p> </p><p>

-Mobstar likes to talk about Mobstar in the third person, huh?</p><p> </p><p>

-I like how you've made Jerry Martin even more insane compared to his "I'M HARDCORE!" days <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

I too was suckered into picking S&S :D

QQ is a good addition at this point and I can see him rising up the ranks pretty quickly to challenge Smith plus a couple of good tag additions. Hopefully you'll start to reap the rewards sooner rather than later.

<p>I actually had a question for the readers so I thought I would respond to the readers who were kind enough to post in here.</p><p> </p><p> My questions is...</p><p> </p><p> How important are match write-ups to you? </p><p> </p><p> I have never really been a huge fan of reading long match write-ups in the diaries of others, so I really do not value them all that much. For me personally I know I suck at them but I find myself writing longish ones for this diary and my SWF diary even though I set out not to do so. I also find myself typing the same stuff over and over again because in real life wrestlers pretty much do the same moves in their matches all of the time. Granted the placement might be different but for the most part it is the same match nearly all of the time.</p><p> </p><p> So I was wondering if people like shorter match write-ups like I did with the Elroy Blues vs. Quentin Queen match from the last show. Or do you like longer match write-ups like I did with the Four-Man Elimination match from the last show?</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Zergon" data-cite="Zergon" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37238" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Interesting roster additions, I espesially look forward to see how American Cobras and Quentin Queen will do. <p> </p><p> As someone who pay lots of attention on popularity levels on my own bookings, I do well understand your booking logic here. I originally wanted to bring Rudy Velasquez in for that match because he was a big deal in my RIPW diary (Even if the readers hated his guts.<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />), but he was too expensive so I went with Titan. The funny thing is FCW fired Titan the day after he was on my show. </p><p> </p><p> Riley is right now is at 19 in the Tri-State area (and back then, remember I am two shows ahead) while Curtis has been stuck at 17 throughout the game thus far. I guess I could have given Curtis the win because it would not have hurt Riley that much but I decided to go in a different direction because I had already had a match planned for Curtis on the next show.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="michgcs" data-cite="michgcs" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37238" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>-It must've been all those wins over the Blues Bros that blinded me into picking S&S. Maybe Mobstar will stop talking in the third person as that is Remo's thing.<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Well Jerry is still hardcore and he will probably still spout proclaim that but right now I decide to make him a bit creepier. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Emark" data-cite="Emark" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="37238" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I too was suckered into picking S&S <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> QQ is a good addition at this point and I can see him rising up the ranks pretty quickly to challenge Smith plus a couple of good tag additions. I have to bloated roster problem and it is starting to show up in this diary as well. I think that is the main reason why the prize for the pick contest will end up forcing me to fire some of these workers. But for me I could not pass up on someone like Quentin who has not been in many diaries.</p><p> </p><p> The funny thing is after I finish the first year of the diary I am thinking that the next prize in the picks contest will be for the top three predictors to pick workers to be in a top prospect tournament. I love it when ROH holds it in real life and think it would be a cool concept to have in a diary. The thing is that will lead to further roster bloat...</p>
