The final show of the Valor Tour before the PPV! Both Chuichi Sanda and American Optimus mentioned to me they were feeling banged up, so I held them off this show so they could hopefully be ready for Saturday.

1) In a match that had some good action but non-existent crowd heat, Natsu Miyamae defeated Tanyu Toshusai in 6:42 by pinfall with a Miyamae Spoiler. Rating: 66

2) In a match that had some good action but non-existent crowd heat, American Elemental, Reijiro Hiraki and Yusuke Takahama defeated KC Glenn and Ota & Black in 14:06 when American Elemental defeated Fumihiro Ota by pinfall with an Inferno Splash. Rating: 56

Note: Ota was really off his game tonight.

3) In a match that had some good action but non-existent crowd heat, Heihachiro Sakai, Murai Enomoto, Tatsuya Toshitala and Hitomaro Suzuki defeated Kuemon Hotta, Atsumori Takemura, Ieyoshi Shimakage and Tsurayuki Kamachi in 11:31 when Heihachiro Sakai defeated Tsurayuki Kamachi by pinfall with a Sakai Suplex. Rating: 62

4) In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Magnum Kobe defeated Adam Matravers in 11:34 by pinfall with a Kobe Bomb. Rating: 58

5) In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Sessue Kawate defeated Nissho Yuasa in 13:51 by pinfall with a Freeze Frame. Rating: 41

Notes: Yuasa was really off his game and both were visibly tiring by the end. GO RUN SOME LAPS

6) In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Red Panther, White Samurai and Kurofuji & Maeda defeated Shimedzu, Hell Monkey and Shiomi & VENOM in 16:08 when Haru Kurofuji defeated Shimedzu by submission with a Kurofuji Crab. Rating: 61

Note: this match was too long given who was involved

Note: Hamacho seemed off his game tonight.

9) In a bout that had great heat and great wrestling action, Hiroaki Nakasawa and Kinnojo Horri drew with Black Magic in 20:00 when the time limit expired. Rating: 81

Overall rating: 79

So close again.

People complained afterwards about KC Glenn and Fumihiro Ota getting used too much. These people apparently don't understand the concept of trying to keep main eventers fresh before a big show.

Before the show, Kazutoshi Imoo ripped a fart. I took no action.

There's one more match for Fire Dream of the Immortals. Natsu Miyamae, apparently unhappy that only Hiroaki Nakasawa gets to issue open challenges, has done the same. Natsu Miyamae vs. ??? #2 has been added to the card.

Live, from Kanagawa Stadium: BHOTWG Fire Dream of the Immortals 2013!

Before the show, The Incredible Koyama started a big argument with Haru Kurofuji. I tried the fatherly approach; he responded with "Yeah, OK, won't happen again." Not feeling like he really took that lesson to heart.

Reijiro Hiraki and Okura Umeki really bonded backstage over a shared love of history.

Pre-Show Match 1) In a match that had some good action but non-existent crowd heat, Adam Matravers and Yusuke Takahama defeated Ota & Black in 10:14 when Yusuke Takahama defeated Greg Black by pinfall with a Super Backdrop Suplex. Rating: 66

Pre-Show Match 2) In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Heihachiro Sakai, Murai Enomoto, Tatsuya Toshitala, Atsumori Takemura and Kuemon Hotta defeated Ieyoshi Shimakage, Tsurayuki Kamachi, Hitomaro Suzuki, Tanyu Toshusai and KC Glenn in 10:23 when Kuemon Hotta defeated KC Glenn by pinfall with a Sprint Palm Thrust. Rating: 62

1) In a bout that featured great action but not much in the way of heat, Bairei Yasujiro and Team DRAGON defeated The Awesome Kiyaru and Kokan & Konda in 12:37 when Sensational Dragon defeated Kansuke Konda by pinfall with a Sensation Shock. Rating: 79

Note: Kokan had a generic "penalized for chemistry (motivation)" comment. Maybe he hates curtain jerking? Neither Konda or Kiyaru can handle going all out well.

2) In an extremely short match, Green Panther, Red Panther and The Samurais defeated The Incredible Koyama, Reijiro Hiraki, Hell Monkey and Shimedzu in 4:38 when Red Panther defeated Reijiro Hiraki by pinfall with a Tumbleweed Legdrop. Rating: 69

Note: Green Panther, the mystery partner, was Utamuro Nishimuraya. He worked as Green Panther in the 90s. This was a one-show deal.

3) In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Shibanumo & Yuasa defeated Kawate & Shiraishi in 10:27 when Nissho Yuasa defeated Sessue Kawate by pinfall with a Thunder Drop. Shibanumo & Yuasa make defence number 3 of their Burning World Tag Team titles. Rating: 63

Note: Shiraishi came out of this match looking good.

4) In a bout that featured great action but not much in the way of heat, American Elemental defeated Hidekazu in 13:18 by pinfall with an Inferno Splash. Rating: 82

5) In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Shiomi & VENOM defeated Kurofuji & Maeda in 11:08 when Yoshii Shiomi defeated Haru Kurofuji by submission with a Sublime Crossface. Shiomi & VENOM win the Burning Junior Tag Team titles. Rating: 70

6) In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Magnum Kobe defeated American Optimus in 9:52 by submission with a Magnum Deathlock. Rating: 81

Note: this match suffered because not enough selling was shown.

7) In a match that had some good action and average heat, Chuichi Sanda defeated Mitsunari Fugunaga in 14:16 by pinfall with an Explosion Kick. Rating: 58

Note: These two just don't click at all.

8) In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Tadakuni Toshusai defeated Eiji Hamacho in 18:01 by pinfall with a Shock Treatment. Rating: 80

Note: These two have great chemistry together, but not enough selling was shown.

9) In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Tommy Cornell defeated Natsu Miyamae in 12:06 by submission with a Guilt Trip. Rating: 76

Note: Miyamae was furious about being asked to job here.

10) In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Yasunobu Masuno defeated Masaaki Okazaki in 17:33 by submission with a Day Of Rackening. Rating: 80

Note: lack of selling again; Masuno was visibly tired by the end.

11) In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Elemental III defeated Marihito Masuko in 23:48 by pinfall with an Inferno Splash. Elemental III makes defence number 4 of his Burning Junior Championship title. Rating: 81

Note: at times the match drifted due to a lack of psychology on display.

12) In a match that had a fantastic crowd and great wrestling action, Hiroaki Nakasawa defeated Bruce The Giant in 9:49 by pinfall with a H-Bomb. Rating: 73

Note: Bruce was visibly tiring by the end. Not enough selling was shown, again.

13) In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Kinnojo Horri defeated Tasuku Iesada in 20:06 by pinfall with a Destiny Bomb. Kinnojo Horri wins the King Of Fighters title. Rating: 83

Note: was enough selling shown? No. No there was not. It also deserved better color commentary.

14) In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Yasuhiko Taira defeated Tadiyuki Kikkawa in 28:07 by pinfall with The Flattener. Yasuhiko Taira wins the Burning World Championship title. Rating: 80

Note: this needed better color commentary.

Overall rating: 82

We drew 22,953 for this show. A little disappointing, since initial projections were that we'd flirt with 30k. Our buy rate was 2.09, which seems to be a strong one.

My post-show speech consisted of me pointing out Yasuhiko Taira as a good example, telling Natsu Miyamae he's awesome, and praising American Elemental for a great performance. All three were pleased.

Haranobu Kobayashi emailed me after the show, insisting he was ready for the big leagues. He's probably right.

Six matches have been announced for Test of Prophecies, our March PPV.

Burning World Championship: Tadakuni Toshusai vs. Yasuhiko Taira ©

King of Fighters: Masaaki Okazaki [iNSPIRED] vs. Kinnojo Horri ©

Burning Junior World Championship: Magnum Kobe vs. Elemental III ©

Burning World Tag Team Championship: TEAM INSPIRE (Kikkawa and Iesada) vs. Toshiki Shibamumo and Nissho Yuasa ©

For a Title Shot at the Burning Junior World Champion: MYSTIC Dragon vs. Sensational Dragon

Burning Junior Tag Team Championship: Haru Kurofuji and Hachigoro Maeda vs. VENOM and Yoshii Shiomi ©

I also will post details on the International Worker Exchange alliance... after I run the next card, because I went ahead and advanced to the night time. Obviously TCW and USPW are both part of the agreement; PGHW is also a partner. I'd have to look at the other two, but they're both at least cult level.

Oh, yeah, that would do it. I didn't realize SWF started out as higher than National, and so when I saw their drop, I assumed it was something financial since their level was (incorrectly) still the same. This could be real bad for TCW.

Last show of February! We're in Kyushu's Fukuoka Athletics Stadium in front of a sold out 10,000 people.

1) In a match that had some good action but non-existent crowd heat, Hell Monkey defeated KC Glenn in 9:26 by pinfall with a Hell Fire Kick. Rating: 58

4) In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Kuemon Hotta defeated Atsumori Takemura in 10:13 by pinfall with a Sprint Palm Thrust. Rating: 51

SWF starts at national so they probably reached international momentarily and then fell. The most fun I had with a BHOTWG game is when I turned it into a gigantic clusterf*ck of a stable war. 4 Major Groups along with 8 minor ones just going at it for all the titles. Whoever held all of them would become the ruling faction of Japanese Wrestling. Sensational Dragon would just no give up his Junior Title at all. It felt very epic in my head. Sadly the game was lost when my laptop died.

That sounds quite awesome... I rarely go with more than two major stables/factions at a time but maybe I should give the insane-overkill-faction-war a shot sometime :D

Regarding Masuko/Hidekazu: Hidekazu is quite the strong performer, if Masuko brings the overness and maybe some good top row skills, I'm not overly surprised by their good ratings.

I would like to see more inter-promotional action in the future. See what you can get out of that global alliance beast... :)

<p>Oh, don't worry, I will. I really like the idea of supermatches like that, even if I have to anger a declining midcarder to try and make sure Cornell's a viable guy to bring back.</p><p> </p><p>

And my plan is to slowly set up more stables. I don't think I'm going to have the whole promotion revolve around them, because loners are good to have and young lions don't really need to be in stables, but there will be a couple more major forces. At least, there will be once I decide on them.</p>

Only real news story in the following few days was that Mashashi Urogataya asked to be called up, so I did. I asked him to move to the junior division, but he wasn't interested.</p><p> </p><p>

Before the next show (which I'm not running tonight), two backstage incidents happened. Nissho Yuasa ripped the world's stinkiest fart (our locker room just keeps upping each other); I did what I did before, which is take no action; and Kansuke Konda cheered everyone up with his road stories.</p>

Some disappointing performances on this show. Really surprised about Elemental's match, plus the 8 man junior tag should have been higher - Matravers was expected to drag it down a bit, but not nearly that much.</p><p> </p><p>

On a WLW show between the two BHOTWG tour shows this week, American Elemental beat Hell Monkey to win the Modern Japan title for the second time. Also, Panda Mask II had transportation issues, causing him to miss the same WLW show.</p>

Sadly it did not help much regarding the overall rating.</p><p> Another idea: When playing big-time puro companies I try to throw in a special set or something for the touring shows to boost the nights final rating. I find that works quite well as long as your boys are able to pull off a strong main event. Compensates for potential disappointments at the co-main event spot.</p>
