The Stupidest Little BHOTWG Diary

Recommended Posts

<p>I've been waiting on them to actually shed their Young Lion labels - which a few fortunately have! - before pushing them.</p><p> </p><p>

Of course, with me fully embracing the round robin style of the Super Junior, it's really hard to push anyone new if I want to actually keep my shows around 3 hours long - my main goals with the heavyweights in this part of the tour is to have them help shore up the overall show ratings as possibler, and to give the pushed guys work so they don't complain about not being booked. But I definitely have plans on moving a few guys up the heavyweight division in the not too far future.</p>

I've been thinking of having BHOTWG turn away from a touring schedule. NJPW still does the <a href="http://www.njpw.co.jp/english/match/?ticket=1" rel="external nofollow">touring schedule but they aren't as long as the game</a> as they only hold a few shows building to their main tournaments. With the TV show available using it similar to the touring shows in building up the the PPV I think I can get the same results but build a more consistent storyline. Sometimes I just decide to put random multiman matches on the show which king of takes aways some of the fun for me.

<p>I just tend to work around the touring shedule with National companies and break out from the strict "two/three shows a week for two/three months" interpretation that the AI uses. If my company is touring three months in a row, I make it two "tours", like from Week 3 of the first month building up to a PPV at the end of W1 in the second month and then another short tour spanning W4 of the 2nd month to W2 of the third. When the touring period is finished, I tend to switch touring shedule so that I don't have to take off a full calender-month but immediately start touring again with a similar sheme.</p><p>

That way the shedule is way more realistic, the workers still get their time off to freshen up and I avoid losing money for one month in between tours.</p>

PGHW star Flemmy Lemming had a partial Achilles tendon rupture and will be out for about three months.

Duane Stone is working through some neck pain.

Rookie Allan Mitchell, who just graduated to the main TCW roster (and whose U.S. popularity was '1'), walked out on the company.

A story on the TEW.com home site talked up roster member Reijiro Hiraki as a rising star. I can't say that's the craziest thing I've ever heard.

Mitsunari Fugunaga showed up late to a meeting with a road agent. He was fined for this. Fortunately, Fugunaga's response was "understood."

The last show of the tour before our next PPV! We're in Takamatsu Athletics Stadium, with 8,578 fans.

<p>Good stuff so far. I know that writing a dynasty can be time consuming (even without graphics and lengthy behind the scenes stuff), so thanks for keeping us updated. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Also, I love that Magnum Kobe won the BOTSJ title. Aside from his obvious potential for mega-stardom, he's just such a good character. I'm not confident that I'll make it to June in my current BHOTWG game, but I'm already planning to have Kobe win the tournament before taking the title from Masuko on the next tour. </p><p> </p><p>

I've even considered making him the first Junior wrestler to win the King Of Fighters title someday. Not sure if that's too much, but the more I think about it, the more I love the idea.</p>

<p>Actually, I'm bored and need a break from studying. Let's go through my roster, starting with the juniors and going down by overness.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elemental III</strong> - current Burning Junior champ. Very good flier who'd I like to see develop a bit more in terms of performance. Also a great technician. Clearly a centerpiece of the division for years to come. Very charismatic as well.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>American Elemental</strong> - a bit surprised he's this high. He's now on a written deal with us. Great flier, great in performance, can be counted on to call and carry a match. I'm a really big fan of his. Sufficiently charismatic.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Magnum Kobe</strong> - just got him on a PPA deal. Pretty darn good at everything, and pretty charismatic. Definitely has star quality. I hope we can keep him.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>MYSTIC Dragon</strong> - Real good flier and technician. Don't know if he's charismatic to ever be the #1 guy in this division, but he's young, talented and improving. Might be slightly overpushed at this very moment.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sensational Dragon</strong> - love this guy. Very reliable talent.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hell Monkey</strong> - is a monkey from hell. Can't rule out moving him up to middleweight so he can really use those brawling skills, or putting him in a feud with Kansuke Konda over the giant killing gimmick.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>VENOM</strong> - don't understand why he's this popular, but no point in jobbing him out. Solid, but unspectacular. Like his tag team with Yoshii.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Billy Russell</strong> - had big name value in Japan, so signed him to a one year deal. I have no idea if this will work out, but it's minimal risk. Good in the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Marihito Masuko</strong> - real good worker. Hope he develops better psychology. I keep thinking he's older than 31 for no good reason. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Red Panther</strong> - I’m dubious of his viability as a main eventer, but he’s real good in the midcard.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hyosuke Kokan</strong> – good in the midcard, isn’t going to go any higher, isn’t going to get any younger.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kansuke Konda</strong> – see Kokan.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Haru Kurofuji</strong> – Average, and this is becoming a division where that’s not too viable any more.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Golden Scorpion</strong> – fine in the midcard.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hachigoro Maeda</strong> – current midcarder, but he’s promising. I hope he can still improve. If he can’t, this is a fine place to peak.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Awesome Kiyaru</strong> – a veteran who still has it means a guy who I want in the tag championship scene.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Yoshii Shiomi</strong> – Underrated. Depending on injuries and the situation of other guys, he could get a minor run with the Burning Junior belt.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>American Optimus</strong> – I probably would have pushed this guy in 2008 or 2010. Now, he’s tag division fodder.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>White Samura</strong> – Another guy who seems stuck in the midcard, but you’re not sure he won’t break out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bairei Yasujiro</strong> – still very capable; I don’t know how much gas he has left in the tank, though</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Incredible Koyama</strong> – Promising flier, but has attitude problems that have already flared up once. Not too big on pushing him right now. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Reijiro Hiraki</strong> – I like him as an up and comer. Not sure where he’ll peak.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Adam Matravers</strong> – He’s going to be a fun gaijin midcarder.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Fumihiro Ota</strong> – turned out to have a good tag team with Greg Black; I wanted that back. Could get a tag run in the future. He’s on a written deal now.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Greg Black</strong> – See Ota above; more viable as a solo act. Also signed to a written deal.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Shimedzu</strong> – he is the gatekeeper. I have not found a keymaster.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>KC Glenn</strong> - one day, he'll be great, I'm convinced of it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Yuki Horigoshi</strong> - He's promising</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Toju Munkata</strong> - Another young lion with upside</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Edo Phoenix IV</strong> - of my junior young lions, the one I'm least confident in</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Pavel Vanzycha</strong> - young lion, promising, etc.</p>

<p>Never noticed you had Billy Russel in the junior division</p><p> </p><p>

He would seem like a natural token jobber for the INSPIRE stable. Really good hire though</p><p> </p><p>

Also agree with you on KC Glenn, he did 2 tours under his real name as a jobber, but then I gave him a long term deal and the Black Cobra II gimmick and his popularity exploded (as in B- all over Japan and I'm in mid 2014). It will be impossible to hold him down</p>

<p>I just picked Russell up after the tour I just finished.</p><p> </p><p>

I think I may stick with the current touring schedule as well.</p><p> </p><p>

I have a couple other new signings that I'm excited about in the heavyweight division. I've yet to even offer any touring contracts; I don't know if I will, to be honest, since I've really let my roster explode with graduates and gaijins.</p>

<p>Take this as a genuine question (which it is) rather than criticism, but is it normal to have so many workers on developmental contracts with BHOTWG? I was worried about sending too many people down to Hinote, mostly because I wasn't sure how many they could handle, but now I'm thinking that I might not be sending enough. I only have 7 people in development.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Back on topic, I like that American Elemental has been such a success for you. What's his popularity at the moment?</p><p> </p><p>

Also, I'm glad that you signed Fumihiro Ota to a written deal. Even though he's pretty old at this point in his career, I'd still mark out for him. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Worth keeping around until the time decline takes him.</p>

I don't feel right having a gaijin heavy developmental system apart from 1 or 2 of each. The guys like KC Glenn who have the skills but lack the pop are exclusive touring contracts until I can give them a proper written one.</p>

I've revamped the schedule, I've put it into an alliance (albeit a global one, but we're working with PGHW, which isn't the easiest relationship). I've got no problem bringing in foreign workers to some extent - I wouldn't want the main event scene to become some combination of Sean McFly, Tommy Cornell, Jack Bruce, and the Stones. But I like more of a global environment. I also like big developmental rosters, though I need to start targeting younger workers - too many guys are saying they're ready a few months after being at Hinote Dojo.</p><p> </p><p> AmEl is currently a 72 in popularity in Japan. That's tied with Elemental III and is only behind Nakasawa, Horri, Okazaki, Toshusai, Taira, and Masuno in the HW division.</p>

<p>I don't have time go through the heavyweight roster right now, but I'll do a news update for May.</p><p> </p><p>

Pro Wrestling MAX opened up in the southwest of the U.S., with Findlay O'Farraday as owner and Silver Shark as booker.</p><p> </p><p>

SWF called up Primus Allen to their main roster.</p><p> </p><p>

EMLL got a new TV show.</p><p> </p><p>

Acid was injured with a C5 Cervical Spinal Cord Compression. He's out of action for about a year. I'm concerned it's a career ender.</p><p> </p><p>

California Love Machine walked out on CZCW.</p><p> </p><p>

PGHW called up Hirobumi Takimoto.</p><p> </p><p>

Sorai Honda is the first graduate from the Burning Hammer Dojo! He's a lightweight junior who's 5'9", 192 lbs, good at face and heel, and uses the "Storm Face Jam" as his finisher. He starts out as "strong" in in ring & performance and physical abilities and "average" in entertainment & camera skills.</p>

<p>Okay, let's go through the heavyweights this time. Again, this in terms of decreasing popularity.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hiroaki Nakasawa</strong>: our biggest start currently, thanks to the Bruce the Giant win, by a big margin. He's at 93; next guy is at 81. He's definitely a top of the card guy right now, but he's also 36. Great star quality.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kinnojo Horri</strong>: I really like him, and he's one of our younger main eventers.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Masaaki Okazaki</strong>: 43 but he's still putting on great matches and keeps surprising me with strong performances. He's not super talented but he's definitely reliable.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tadakuni Toshusai</strong>: Another guy who's been working his way to the top of the card. I like him and he's got great fundamentals, but he's also about a half-step behind Horri in terms of in-ring ability.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Yasuhiko Taira</strong>: very solid top of the card guy. Current world champ. Great star quality. 35, so longevity is a minor concern right now.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Yasunobou Masuno</strong>: Really good heavyweight. I like him a lot as a main eventer for the next five years if he stays healthy.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tadiyuki Kikkawa</strong>: old and somewhat busted. He's aging and his skills are rapidly degrading. I'm planning on using him to transition to a better tag team scene and hopefully teach some young guys how to work while making a star or two.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mitsunari Fugunaga</strong>: Very talented. I don't know if he'll go all the way to the top, but he can work main events and put on solid matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Eiji Hamacho</strong>: despite being 45, he still hasn't shown the notes of being in physical decline yet. Not a regular main eventer at this point in his career, but he's still able to go some.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tasuku Iesada</strong>: Kikkawa's BFF. Very much in the same boat as Hamacho.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Chuichi Sanda</strong>: old and breaking down. Skills are falling apart and he's not some master at psychology. I'd like to break Hamacho away from him and team him with a young up-and-comer.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nissho Yuasa</strong>: Pretty solid worker. Stuck in a tag team with a guy that's decomposing. Has really crappy stamina, so I don't see him leaving the tag ranks.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Heihachiro Sakai</strong>: A very promising technician. I need to give him a good push.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Natsu Miyamae</strong>: another older worker who's suffering from aging effects. He should be in a lower level tag team.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kuemon Hotta</strong>: Just signed a three year written deal with us. I'm not entirely sure where his ceiling is, but "decent midcarder" is an okay one. Strong camera skills and very strong in performance, so maybe the top line will improve.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sanetomo Shiraishi</strong>: Nothing special. Ancient. Somehow not aging?!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Toshiki Shibanumo</strong>: Breaking down. 44 and not really special in any area, and losing points quick.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tanyu Toshusai</strong>: Also signed to a new three year written deal. If he can develop, he could be a big star. Let's hope that happens.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sessue Kawate</strong>: Old and breaking down. He's going to be pushed lower and lower down the card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tatsuya Toshitala</strong>: Still a young lion, but showing good technical skills. We'll see how this shakes out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ieyoshi Shimakage</strong>: Young lion who can rumble. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Atsumori Takemura</strong>: Decent enough all-around young lion.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Murai Enomoto</strong>: Old young lion (27). Let's hope those excellent performance and strong technical skills pay off.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Greg Gauge</strong>: <strong><em>IT'S HAPPENING</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ryushi Sato</strong>: Young lion who needs better top line stats.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tsurayuki Kamachi</strong>: No longer a young lion! Lots of strong skills; I need to move him up the card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hitomaro Suzuki</strong>: Much like Kamachi: no longer considered a young lion, but needs moved up.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Haranobu Kobayashi</strong>: Definitely a young lion (heck, this is still his first year in pro wrestling). He looks to be very promising.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mashashi Urogataya</strong>: another promising young lion.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Matthew Keith</strong>: <strong><em>IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Omezo Shikitei</strong>: young lion with promise</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kadonomaro Kamisaka</strong>: see: Shikitei.</p>
