The Background Information

Hello everyone. Thank you for taking the opportunity to read the beginning of this diary. As many of you know, there have been people who call me 'Mr. USPW' due to my many USPW diaries that I have done within the past. The longest USPW diary I have run within the past has been just short of 7 months. That is my second-longest running diary of all time. What I have yet to be able to do (something I have tried and failed at) is to run a USPW diary for a full real life year or in-game year. That has been my failure and something that I truly have regretted. But I am looking forward to trying again. I understand everything about my past so that does not need to be brought up here again. I hope that everyone can keep this on a pleasant basis. Any talk about the past that seems like trolling will be flagged and reported by me.

I get it. I have had a lot of chances to do this. Believe me, no one knows that more than me. I try and I fail and I try and I fail. But the only true failure is when I stop trying. To those of you who give me another chance and read this, I can say thank you. To those who choose not to read this? I can understand from where you're coming. Regardless, thank you to everyone.

This diary in particular is going to have a focus on the backstage/backstory portion of the diary. That is something that I really enjoy writing for the Cornellverse and I am getting back to my roots here. The backstory means I don't just have to focus on what's going on in-game. So if I just feel like writing but I am not ready to write or post the card then I can just post some backstage interactions. I hope that everyone enjoys this one.

But What About Your Other Diary?

My real world diary is far from dead. I am intending on running both diaries at the same time. It is something that I have done in the past with both success and failure. Though I had one of my greatest successes running two diaries together. This one will have more of a backstory than the real world one does. That is one thing that I appreciate about the Cornellverse. I can delve into a different universe.

Inspiration

jhd1 - A great diary writer and one that I go to for support again and again. He is one of my best friends on these GDS boards. He is also responsible for a lot of the graphics work that gets done both in the diary and in different games. I thank him for that.

Eisen-verse - Another amazing diary writer. He is a definite influence on this diary as one will see when things get running. He is another one of my friends and always offers good advice when I need it. His focus on the Supreme world has been an inspiration on my finding the USPW voice once more.

Alt/Render/Re-Render Artists - I cannot forget these amazing artists that bring the Cornellverse to life almost more-so than the real world. You will see a lot of alts/Re-Renders used within this diary. All credit for them goes to their respective artists. A special thank you goes to these artists. Where available from my own knowledge, I generally include an underscore and the name of the artist in the picture address. IE. A picture by JSilver might include _JS or _jsilver such as Melody_JS.jpg. If there is one that you see that you would like me to change the name to include/give credit to you as the artist, please feel free to let me know here or in pm.

Lexa90, BHK1978, critical-23, TheLeviticalLawKid3, 20LEgend, Bigpapa42, Emark, Tigerkinney, Rayelek, Midnightnick, RKOwnage, pennyone and more - These names have been some of the more long-lasting names that have commented and predicted within my diaries in the past. They have been and always continue to be an inspiration to me in their comments and predictions. They always seem to stick by me through thick and thin, though some more-so than others now. Which, again, I do not blame them for their choices. However, I hope that with this diary and my WCW 1994 diary I can win some support back. But I just want to thank them here and now for their predictions and comments in the past.

I am sure that more will be added as time goes along...

[The scene is backstage within a locker room of a local high school in Aiken, South Carolina. I just finished my run-in on the main event and then headed back here to get a shower and maybe head out to get something to eat. These little independent shows sure don't pay much money but they are something, right? They are something to keep my mind fresh and ready for when a big company comes calling. Oh, who am I kidding? Definitely not myself. I stepped into that locker room, expecting it to be empty. Instead I was surprised to see an old friend sitting on one of the benches.]

[shane Sneer. I had worked with Shane back in the days of SCCW. He was the owner of the company down there but when his business went bankrupt he went to work for Danny and Sam at USPW. It is sort of odd to see him down here at an independent show. Maybe he is scouting for talent? My right hand went out and gave him a handshake.]

"What are you doing down here in the slums? Shouldn't you be collecting your big paycheck up with Sam and Danny?"

Shane Sneer

"Oh, I'm still collecting that paycheck. Don't worry about that. But I thought I would give the less influential people a look down here."

"Sometimes you do need to see what you're stepping on, right?"

[The two of us had a good laugh at that. It was definitely good to see Shane but again I am left to wonder: why? Wouldn't he send someone like Redwood or Valentine or even Jillefski to really do his scouting for him? Maybe Sam sent him down here personally. I can only hope, right?]

Shane Sneer

"Listen, I've got a business proposal I need to run by you. Can I buy you dinner?"

[i thought about that for about a second and then nodded.]

"Sounds good but you need a shower first, Avatar. I'm not taking anyone that smells as bad as you anywhere with me."

[shane nodded and then walked off. A business proposal, huh? I wonder exactly what Shane is up to. What kind of business could he want with an old washed-up wrestler working the independent scene?]

[i had gotten a shower and gotten changed within the locker room into a more fitting black suit that went with half my mask. Now, you wouldn't think that a guy wearing a wrestling mask and a suit would attract much attention on the street, right? Well, you would be wrong. There are some new-timers and some old-timers who know who I am from my time in this promotion or that promotion. I have been working for promotions since 1994, trained at 20 years old for the ring. I have been moving in and out of territories ever since, wrestling on some of the grandest stages of them all and wrestling in high school gyms as I did tonight. Granted I was never in the main event at those grandest stages but I did open some pay-per-views for Tommy aka Tommy Cornell. But enough about my past.]

[i headed out to the nice towncar that Shane had rented and we road toward Prime Steakhouse in downtown Aiken. We mostly shot the shit along the road but I did notice that he avoided talking about wrestling. This struck me as odd since Shane has always been one to brag and right now he has a lot to brag about. USPW may be the number three promotion still but they are quickly gaining on both TCW and SWF. They have some hot storylines going and with Shane as the Head Booker he had a lot to brag about. I made sure to make a point within my mind to bring it up during dinner.]

[We got to the steakhouse and were seated. He ordered a bottle of wine and that really made me raise a brow.]

"Shane, you know I'm more of a beer and chips type of guy. Now, you've been avoiding talking about wrestling. What gives?"

Shane Sneer

"Well, I was gonna wait until after dinner to talk with you about this..."

"Come on now, Shane, shoot me straight here. You know I'm more of a straight talker than anything else."

Shane Sneer

"As I know you have been watching, USPW has taken fire. We have continued to elevate our wrestlers and it is looking like we are going to catch TCW soon and then SWF. Quite honestly, I'm stretched too thin, my old friend. I am working behind the scenes, doing the booking, doing the managing thing, doing the colour commentating. It's all become far too much for me and I am starting to suffer from some serious health issues."

"I'm sorry to hear that, my old friend. Is there anything that I can do?"

Shane Sneer

"I am glad you asked that, Avatar. There is. I am looking to drop some of my behind the scenes duties. I would like to speak with Sam about you becoming my successor to the booking duties in USPW."

[My eyes just about lit out of my head. Booking duties for one of the hottest companies in the world? He's got to be ribbing me, right? Right? Aren't I too old to fall for a rib in this business?]

"Now you know that I am an old dog here, Shane. I've been around this business for half my life. I can see a rib coming from a mile away. So what's the truth, then?"

Shane Sneer

"This is the truth, Av. I've been looking to downsize and quite frankly I'm out of ideas to pull USPW to the top. I can't leave managing because I'm in one of the hottest storylines in the company. We brought in Emily to do the color commentating but that still hasn't been enough. My ticker isn't that of a young man's anymore. Are there other guys within the company that can take my place in the booking category? Sure. I'm sure that Peter and Redwood and even Jillefski might jump at the chance. But I don't think that is what is best for this company. You are what is best for this company right now. I need you to do this for me."

"Have you talked to Sam about it? Do you really think he would take a newcomer as head booker? I know that I've gotten along with him in the past and I do miss being around him and his family. But you know I will watch your back, Shane. You know I'm in."

Shane Sneer

"Great! I will talk to Sam and get you introduced as the new head booker at the first of the year party. Now let's eat."

[Easy for him to eat right now. I just made the biggest wrestling decision of a lifetime. I think I might be sick.]

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE QUITTING BOOKING?!?!"

[That was actually the first words that I heard through the door coming from the man who I was hoping would be my future employer. Of course I had accepted Shane's offer to take over the booking duties with USPW. I would be a fool not to. They have some of the hottest storylines around. A main event storyline between Nicky Champion and Tyson Baine for the USPW World Title, both top notch wrestlers in USPW. They have a storyline running between Shane's Sneer Corporation and a group of good guys including James Justice, The Force and Enygma. I would of course be expected to create more storylines as soon as I become the new Head Booker. There's a lot of talent there that should be in stories. Guys like Chris Caulfield, Bruce The Giant, Peter Valentine, Andre Jones and more will definitely be getting hard looks from me as I seek to tell their stories and get them going in the eyes of the fans. As I stood outside the door, I put my ear slightly up against it so I could listen in on the conversation between Shane Sneer and Sam Strong.]

Shane Sneer

"Look, Sam, you know better than anyone that I have been thinking about this for awhile. I have put it off and put it off because of how well the company has been doing. However, I cannot put it off any longer. My well of stories is starting to run dry. Not to mention my ticker is getting worse and worse."

[i could almost hear Sam pacing back and forth on the carpeted floor. Yeah it seems like he is panicking right now. But who could blame him? He's being told that by the first of the year he will no longer have someone to rely on to book the stories. He may be worried he has to pick someone from the roster.]

Sam Strong

"What am I supposed to do while you cool your heels and get recharged? There isn't a single person in this company that I'd truly trust with my book except for you. Nicky is a great guy. So are Peter and Bruce and Danny. However, I know Nicky doesn't want the book and neither does Danny. Peter and Bruce, while they are great friends of mine, I'm not entirely sure how much I could trust them with the book not to use it to put themselves over. Not to mention that Bruce only shows up for the pay-per-views since his knees are so shot. That doesn't leave me with a whole lot of options, Shane. But I am beginning to sense that you are trying to set me up here, brother."

Shane Sneer

"I know it doesn't leave you with a lot of options, Sam. But I wouldn't leave you out in the cold with no one to book your shows so I went out and found a replacement."

Sam Strong

"You went out and found a replacement without asking me first? That sounds promising."

[i tried to ignore the sarcasm in Sam's voice. I know that I would be angry if someone had gone and done that behind my back. So I could only hope that he has those good memories of me and the times we spent together as friends.]

Shane Sneer

"This guy is the genuine article and someone who has been around the business for a very long time. 19 years to be exact. He knows how to run things and I am thinking he will command some respect from the boys even though he's never been World Champion before. He's waiting outside right now."

Sam Strong

"So not only do you go out and find a replacement behind my back but you also bring him here to my home? Shane, that's not good. You know better than that."

Shane Sneer

"Just trust me, Sam. It's not the first time he's been to your home. Let me introduce him to you."

[shane made it to the door before Sam could talk him out of it. He opened the door and I stepped inside, looking right toward Sam Strong. The look on his face was absolutely priceless. His big eyes bulging out, his jaw dropped. For once the usually talkative Sam Strong was speechless and I was smiling behind my mask.]

[seeing Sam again reminded me of the last time that I saw him. It was shortly after he retired from in-ring competition back in 2005. I was working an indy show and somehow they had gotten enough money to pay for him to make an appearance. How they got that much money, I don't think I will ever know. As far as I know, he thought he was just going to be there to get the crowd fired up. Backstage, the promoter at the time (I don't even like to think of his name. The little snake bastard.) had offered me a large sum of money to go out there and injure him for real. Some type of grudge or something that he has against Sam. Either that or he was just looking for the publicity. I knew I wasn't going to hurt my friend but I came walking out to the ring and I attacked Sam from behind. When I had him down on the mat I whispered in his ear to stay down and sell the attack and we'd both get some money from it. He sold it and we were both able to get over on the promoter and split the sum of money that I was paid.]

[i was brought back to reality when Sam cleared his throat and I looked to him out of the eyeholes of my mask.]

"I am sure that you never thought you'd see me again, old friend."

Sam Strong

"After that night back in Greenville? I'm surprised you were able to still find jobs in the southeast after word got out that my legs weren't broken, brother. I do feel like I owe you for that. You could have done some serious damage to me."

"It's not a problem, Sam. You would have done the same thing for me. Well, you probably wouldn't have even come out there. But I needed the money and I think that promoter deserved to get ripped off."

Sam Strong

"But, you know, right now, I am in the position of the guy who got the wool pulled over his eyes. Shane didn't consult with me about this new hire, especially giving over the book to someone. I'll be honest with you, I don't like it. I don't like not knowing what is going on in my own company, brother."

The Masked Avatar

"I know you don't, Sam. I never figured you would. But you and I, we go way back. One of my very first matches was against you though I am sure you don't remember it."

Sam Strong

"No, I am afraid I don't. But, then, I've taken a lot of blows to the head over the years. There are a lot of things I don't remember."

"That's true."

Shane Sneer

"I knew you two would get along. Sam, Avatar here has pitched me some ideas over the years. Some of them I have even used and taken the credit for. That is one of the reasons that I couldn't think of anyone better to take my place in this chair, in this seat at the booker's table."

Sam Strong

"Getting Shane's glowing recommendation is big for you, Avatar. He is someone who has owned a company and who I have a lot of respect for. Right now we are in a bit of a situation here without a booker. So here's the bottom line for you: I am going to trust Shane's judgment and give you that seat at the booker's table. However, I am going to be giving you guidelines that you have to follow or live up to. If you do not follow or live up to them then I will fire you. Now, come here at 10 AM sharp tomorrow morning and we will have a contract lined up for you to sign. I can't pay you much but the better you do the more money you will make. Do you agree, brother?"

"Of course I agree. To tell you the truth I never thought I would get another opportunity in such a big promotion again. Thank you for this opportunity Sam, Shane. I won't disappoint you."

[i extended a hand and shook both Sam's and Shane's hand, glad that I wear a mask. If I didn't, they would be able to see the shock and happiness. It has to be written all over my face. I cannot hide what has to be the glowing in this old man's eyes but the rest is definitely hidden. I assumed it was time for me to go and started to turn to leave when someone else entered the living room...]

[i was taken by a definite surprise when Sam Strong's young daughter Alicia came in wearing a light t-shirt and a pair of shorts. She was sweating and showing that she had obviously been working out. Throughout the years, she had been accompanying her father to various shows so I had gotten to meet her before but now she seems so grown up. I felt like a dirty old man looking at the woman who is around 13 years my junior. She was wiping her face with a towel so I thought about slipping out...]

Alicia Strong

"AVATAR!"

[Her happy squeal got my attention and I turned around just in time to get mauled into a hug. I laughed and returned the hug, trying not to linger too much in it. But I did swing her around for a moment like I used to do when she was so much younger. I set her down quickly, though, and cleared my throat.]

Alicia Strong

"What are you doing here? Has my Dad finally listened to everyone and hired you?"

Sam Strong

"Something like that. Alicia meet the new Head Booker of USPW."

[Alicia stood there in shock for a moment and then flashed a business smile to Shane. She has definitely grown into a strong woman. She has some of the business sense of her father.]

Alicia Strong

"Sorry to hear you're giving up the duties, Shane. You have really done a great job. This company would not be where it is without your help and leadership."

[shane nodded modestly before Alicia turned back to me. I could definitely see the smile on her face and I am sure that she could see mine through my mouth-hole. Though I was trying to keep this on a business level.]

Alicia Strong

"Welcome aboard, Avatar. So when do I get to see you book yourself to lose your mask?"

[i had to laugh at that. She'd been trying to get a peek underneath my mask ever since she was little. No one has seen underneath my mask in a very long time. Kayfabe is still alive in my heart.]

The Masked Avatar

"Not any time soon I'm afraid Alicia. Look, it's been great seeing you and I know we are going to catch up soon but I need to get all ready for my move here. I'll be back at 10 AM tomorrow morning sharp."

[i nodded to all three of them before turning to make my exit and head out to the beat up old rental car that I used to drive here in. Working Indy Shows doesn't afford you much money to buy anything decent. Hopefully this job will allow me to buy a new car since I totaled my last one. As I walked out the door and got into my car, I saw Alicia step to the window and wave at me. I waved back and then started up my car and headed to the hotel. I would be getting an apartment soon and all would be well with the world, right? I can only hope so. This is a major opportunity and I cannot do anything to screw it up. One thought does enter my mind as I pull away from the Strong mansion: one thing is for sure, Alicia Strong has definitely grown up.]</div>

[After what had been an eventful day, it was time for me to come to the motel I was staying at here in Huntsville, Alabama. After wrestling for so long, you get used to staying within a motel room because you move from town to town. It's one motel room to another in the course of any given week. Of course there was always odd looks from other people who are staying there because I am a large man who wears a mask nearly 24/7. Several hundred people have thought I was there to rob the joint from time to time. But for the most part I show that I am like every other person staying within the motel. I am just looking for a place to sleep. I had just gotten into bed when I got a phone call. That was odd. I had only given Shane this room number and all. Obviously he had given it to Sam but what kind of phone call could I be getting? I groaned and leaned over to pick up the phone, turning it around the right way and bringing it to my ear.]

Alicia Strong

Crying. "Avatar? Is that you? I didn't know where else to go or who else to call. Everyone else is out of town tonight at a wrestling event. I stayed home because I wasn't on the card and my boyfriend and I just got into this big fight and...and...and..."

[i raised both brows against the mask for a moment. Alicia had broken down and she was crying so hard she couldn't even talk anymore. This was definitely not a good thing. My protective instincts were definitely kicking in. Though I am no one's knight in shining armor, really.]

The Masked Avatar

"Alright, Alicia. Calm down. Calm down now. Take a few deep breaths and relax. Now, where are you so that I can come and pick you up?"

[Alicia tried to talk again and deep breaths could be heard being taken on the other phone. I wondered if she was going to hyperventilate. That would not be good because I still don't know exactly where she is. But then the deep breaths started to help her and she finally managed to talk again in a high-pitched squeaky tone.]

Alicia Strong

"I'm at Sammy T's Place on Washington. He just left me here without so much as a ride back home! The big jerk!"

[Luckily I had been through Huntsville enough times to know exactly where that is at. As Shane said earlier, this is not the first time that I have been to Sam's house.]

"Alright, Alicia, I am coming to get you. You just sit tight."

[Alicia made a few noises that I assume meant 'goodbye' since she hung up the phone. I sighed for a moment and then threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and some boots. This was looking like the beginnings of a long night. And I have a contract to sign in the morning. But Sam would not be happy if I left his little girl stranded without a ride. I wouldn't be happy with myself if I did that either.]</div>

Half An Hour Later...

<div style="text-align:center;">[i arrived at the Music Hall around half an hour after the phone call and I didn't see Alicia around outside so I had to park and go in to find her. I was stopped only for a moment by security but luckily they know me here so I was allowed to go inside. A big guy in a mask is kind of difficult to forget, right? I stepped in and listened to the music playing in the background as my eyes swept around looking for Alicia. I found her at the bar, laughing and leaning against it. Her crying jag from earlier was obvious on her face but now it was obvious she had had a few more drinks since the phone call. I walked over and tapped her on the shoulder.]

Alicia Strong

"Oh, Avatar! Joo made it! Thash great! My boyfriend thinks I'm a shtick in the mud because I don't drink normally. I'm gonna show him tonight! Bartender, get me another one!"

[i just sighed and shook my head. I gave a look to the bartender that told him that it was time to cut her off.]

"Alicia, I think you've had enough. It's time for you to go home now."

Alicia Strong

"Home? Home ish where the heart ish! And my heart is in thish bo''le of lick...lick...lick...alcohol!"

[i shook my head again. This was not going to be the easiest thing in the world, was it? And time is drawing shorter and shorter until tomorrow morning.]

"No, now, Alicia. Come on. Here we go."

[i took her by the hand and tugged her off the stool she was sitting on and she started twirling around and trying to dance with me. I glanced at the bartender and he shrugged. He wasn't gonna be of any help tonight. Alicia suddenly stopped in her twirling and hiccuped as she looked at me for a moment. Then she passed out in my arms. Great. But it was time to get her home anyway. Get her home, me back to my motel room and hopefully sleep would come soon enough, right?]</div>

Yknow, I was thinking Alicia was gonna try and do something manipulative to Avatar the instant I saw that bit of dialogue, but when I reexamined her stats I noticed something: She isn't a political personality really. This makes it all the more bizarre because its referenced in game that one of the reasons Jennifer Rodriguez wasn't hired by USPW is because Alicia was worried about being overshadowed(which certainly explains Alicia putting over Melody in her first match with the company, and not firing Belle Bryden or Raven Robinson.)

You've got my attention though, thats for sure.

[if I was to be honest, I'd say that I didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night. After picking up Alicia at the bar and taking her home and putting her to bed (with her clothes still on I might add. Drag your minds out of the gutter.) I headed to the motel I was staying at and managed about 2-4 hours worth of actual sleep time before I needed to get up. Of course that all depends on what you consider sleep. Is sleep laying there too tired to actually get to REM sleep? But I did manage to get at least 2 hours of REM sleep before the alarm went off to wake me up. There is one single time during the day where I generally take my mask off. That time is when I need to get a shower. I have my head shaved so it's not the hair I'm worried about but it's my face. I want to make sure to have a good, clean-cut face. I don't ever intend on losing my mask but I don't want to look like Santa Claus underneath it either. Following a shower and getting dressed, I had taken my old beat-up car back to Sam's place. I stared at the home for a moment. So this is it? I give up the Indy scene and the local gyms and schools and I head to the big time. It's been a long journey since I've been to a place like this but I trust Sam and Shane. I know that they will do what's right for me and what's right for this company.]

[i had gotten out of my car and headed up to the house, ringing the doorbell. I had to wait for a few moments and then the door opened.]

"Avatar! You're right on time. Come on in. Can I get you something to drink?"

[i thought for a moment and then nodded.]

[i stepped inside the house and it was a luxurious mansion. Sam had spared no expense when it comes to his place to live. I headed into the living room where Shane was and shook hands with him. After a few minutes of shooting the bull, Sam returned with the plastic bottle of Coca Cola and I took it, taking a sip. My eyes looked around before I focused on Sam.]

[i had to turn my focus to Shane Sneer for that one. Shane pulled it out of a folder and set it on the table in front of me. I reached down and began to read it, between sips of my Coca Cola.]

"It's a standard contract. It says you will be taking over my booking duties at the beginning of 2013. You will also be contracted as a wrestler."

[i continued to read over it though. Always read what you are signing. You never know what kind of lettering there might be in there. Fine print is definitely something not to glance over.]

"It says here that I will also have control over hirings and firings."

"Within reason, of course. I will have some set rules for you as the Booker because this is still my company, brother."

[i nodded to that and continued to read the contract. Everything seemed to be in order and I would be making a nice chunk of change. It would be enough to get settled in and buy a new car. Well, maybe not a new car. But it would be new to me, right? Time to sign my life away, so to speak.]

[When he handed me one, I clicked the Bic and then signed up for the job. I drew in a deep breath and handed the contract back to Shane and he put it in the folder for safe-keeping.]

"Welcome to the team, Avatar. Now that the business is done, I want to thank you for going and getting my daughter last night. She has promised me that she is finished with alcohol. I am just lucky that you were around since we were off running a show. Who knows what would have happened to her, brother."

[i nodded to that.]

"Alicia is a sweet girl, Sam. I have known her since she was knee high to a grasshopper. There's no way that I'd let her stay in some trouble if I could help it."

[sam nodded his approval and then Shane cleared his throat.]

"Avatar, I have taken the liberty of writing up a few pages on our roster and all. I was thinking about bringing in some wrestlers to help shore things up but that will be your job now. It will be up to you if we agree on the same wrestlers to sign. Some of the names I am sure you will know from our past. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."

[i nodded and took the folder from Shane that he handed me. It looked like I had a lot to do in order to get ready for my first card as the Head Booker. I shook hands with Sam and then with Shane. As I got ready to go, something caught my eye. Yeah, she was definitely a sight for sore eyes...]

I haven't been here in a while but I stopped by to buy the Wrespi 3 game and thought I'd check this session out.

I will say I've read every post in this dynasty and I plan on keeping an eye on where it goes since the only other USPW dynasty at the moment is the great dynasty Doc has going on. That being said I do have some comments about the dynasty.

I've read writings of yours in the past. I usually filter by most views or most replies and you've had several come up. My biggest irritation with you is that you'll get six weeks into a dynasty and then just randomly stop writing in it. No explanation as to why you'll just leave us lingering on a show. Then a week and a half later or a month later whatever it is you pop up with a new USPW dynasty when you didn't get out of the first quarter of the new year in your old one. I guess I don't understand why you left your past dynasty. You had written exactly one week worth of shows and even if you wanted to flesh out the backstory its not like you can't start that in week 2 of a dynasty. I'm not flogging your or anything and I want to read your stuff. I'm just very picky, I don't want to start DVRing a new tv show thats going to get canceled halfway into the third episode and the same goes for stuff like this. Again this is not a flogigng just sort of an annoyance that you're posting a new dyansty when you didn't make it out of week 2 of your old one and its only a month and a half old. I'm sure the answer to this is that you're inspired by a Masked Avatar story that you couldn't tell with Duane Fry...

Now onto an actual dynasty question. You put in your dynasty that Avatar is taking over booking duties as of 2010. So this USPW starting out in 2010 or are you giving us three years worth of backstory or was it a typo?

I have to say that I'm not all that interested in the Alicia storyline. Given that Avatar is talking about being damn near in retirement and being buddies with Sam Strong and Shane Sneer and yet you're writing Alicia to be flirting with men that are virtually her dads age. Also another tiny tidbit Avatar is at Strong's house and he's signing a contract and you have Alicia peeking out of the bedroom in her jammies like she's a seven year old girl sneaking a peak at Santa Clause. Even in 2010 Alicia was 25 years old, she had been the main female attraction in a company that was seeing huge success both in popularity and financially. I find it hard to believe that a 25 year old woman who is the top drawing female in the country would be living at daddies house. Especially in the pro wrestling world. She would already be hearing the whispers of how she got where she is because of her dad, can you imagine what they would say about a 25 year old woman still living at her daddy's house? One final point is that you have Alicia tell Masked Avatar that everyone else is at a "wrestling event". Although its minor I think subtlety is key in the type of story you seem to be preventing. A more realistic conversation would have her just say "they're at an event". If she's a wrestler and she's talking to a wrestler about where the other wrestlers are I think it would be redundant for her to say "wrestling event".

Now I will say I am interested to see where the wrestling side of things go and I hope this doesn't become Masked Avatar and Alicia's love story featuring USPW. I'm very interested to see how you shape the roster and if you go outside of your comfort zone of your usual hires.

You say a lot that you want feedback and so I wanted to give you some feedback on both you're writing and this particular story although in my opinion this feedback comes with just a bit of a finger wagging to it. The fact that you have to start your dynasties out by saying "I know I'll be starting a new dynasty is six weeks but please don't bring it up because it hurts my feelings" speaks volumes.

I will be reading this unless of course you ask me not to and then I wont and I'll try to give you more feedback on your writing. I hope that this comes as a breath of fresh air from the usual "good stuff" and "great show". Real feedback as writers in my opinion is invaluable. Take care and good luck with this I'll be watching or reading that is.

Considering Sam Strong's age (old!!!) and the fact that Strong is the owner of USPW and Alicia obviously has power in management I wouldn't find it weird if she was living with him especially considering that she's daddy's little girl. About the nepotism Alicia does have the credentials that the IWC wouldn't bash as she was trained by Ogiwara. Plus Sam Strong has a huge mansion, an inside gym and travels to the shows himself. That just seems like too good a place for Alicia to move out.

I'm not particularly looking forward to a romantic plot between Alicia and Avatar considering she's 26 and he's 40. A more fatherly relationship seems better for the situation and considering the line about knowing her since she was knee high it be creepy for there to be that much sexual tension.

Maybe I'm the odd one out but I didn't read much into a sexual relationship between the two. The "sight for sore eyes" mention may have been tad strong but then again the way I saw it Avatar only thought it pleasant to see someone who wasn't directly involved in the booking committee/management department. His whole day revolved around his new job and the contract signing, I'm sure Alicia is a sight for sore eyes.

Now unless this statement was meant to tease us, I think the point was clearly put across.

And anyway, I think it's regarded as almost canon that Sam has only given Champion his blessing to Alica.

Angel tends to write Nicky and Alicia together which is fine but as far as canon goes thats just not how it works. Again just my opinion and anytime something is written it can be spun several different ways but I feel that I've given multiple examples that strongly back up my points. I just want to see anyone that is in Alicia's position in this business written like someone in her position and not a 14 year old girl.

Having read several USPW dynasties, Alicia being written as an immature, daddy's girl is a reflection of the frustration of having to run a women's division with her in it. Alicia uses her creative control to block any loss, stifling attempts to book a reliable, entertaining Women's Division, many of whom are more interesting and better performers than her. Her whole gimmick is "son of Sam Strong" and that "makes her best in the world". Writing her as immature and egocentric works on the same reasoning as writing Eric Eisen immature and egocentric -- the characters are frustrating in-game to play plus stale and unlikeable. Alicia saps the fun out of USPW, and it doesn't bother me to read a diary with her character portrayed in a bad light. It makes for entertaining reads as the author channels his frustration into creativity leading to a better product.

He is a man that had been in her life a long time growing up and she is seeing him after a very long time, excited that he might finally be part of the same promotion. It makes sense that she is living with him to make sure he is taken care of. Comparing the situation to a real life situation that I have seen, I knew someone who lived in the same home as her father because he had some health issues in the past. They lived in a split-level home, though, with her father being upstairs and her and her husband being downstairs. The whole 'wrestling event' thing? They could be at a concert. They could be at a whole lot of different things to bond. Its written like she's a seven year old child staring at santa, not one of the top women in proffessional wrestling. Again just my two sense that the way you write your characters in these back stories affects how you view them in the ring.</div></blockquote> The peeking around the corner part is because she cannot take the light due to her hangover. The jammies are nothing new to me as far as women wearing them. Having read several USPW dynasties, Alicia being written as an immature, daddy's girl is a reflection of the frustration of having to run a women's division with her in it. Alicia uses her creative control to block any loss, stifling attempts to book a reliable, entertaining Women's Division, many of whom are more interesting and better performers than her. Her whole gimmick is "son of Sam Strong" and that "makes her best in the world". Writing her as immature and egocentric works on the same reasoning as writing Eric Eisen immature and egocentric -- the characters are frustrating in-game to play plus stale and unlikeable. Alicia saps the fun out of USPW, and it doesn't bother me to read a diary with her character portrayed in a bad light. It makes for entertaining reads as the author channels his frustration into creativity leading to a better product.</div></blockquote> She is definitely a daddy's girl. That much is for certain. And she can be frustrating when putting her in the ring against certain wrestlers. And it is canon that she seems to be the reason that Joanne Rodriguez is not in USPW (part of her bio). [The wind was blowing hard on the New Year's Eve day. I hoped it wasn't an omen of things to come within the future, especially not this evening. I had received a phone call earlier in the day from James Justice reminding me about the party tonight. I told him that I knew about it and I would be there. I had talked to him in my motel room earlier and couldn't tell him that I had been hired to USPW. The announcement would come tonight at the New Year's Eve party. I had been told to arrive early by Sam Strong so I drove over to his house and he directed me to park my car behind the house so that no one would be tipped off by it. I stepped inside the house and shot the **** for a few minutes with Sam and then headed off to the bathroom. After finishing and adjusting my mask, I opened the door to find...]

"Better thanks. I just wanted to thank you for the other night, Avatar. You really saved me by coming to pick me up. I don't know what I was thinking. I could have really hurt myself if I had driven home."

[i just smiled and nodded.]

"No problem, Alicia. I'm just glad you're feeling better."

[i was taken by surprise when she hugged me. She flashed me a smile and then walked away to the living room. I got a signal from Sam to stay put. Apparently some of the wrestlers and staff had begun to arrive. I could hear Bruce's booming voice. I could also hear Jethro and Danny talking. Jethro of course is better known as Giant Redwood in the promotion. I leaned against the hall in the hallway as the voices became louder and louder and I took in a breath. Either they'd give me a chance to run the backstage area or they wouldn't. It would be up to their reaction to me. Suddenly, Sam's voice spoke up above all others, even Bruce's.]

Sam Strong

"Thanks for coming everyone. As you all know, this is an annual event here in the USPW ranks. It's a time when we can all get together and relax and get energized for the next year. Speaking of the next year, Shane has something he would like to inform everyone of."

Shane Sneer

"Thanks, Sam. I know that this may come as a shock to some of you and not so much of one to others but I have made the decision to step down from my booking duties. Everything has just been too overwhelming for me. I will retain my managerial duties as the head of the Sneer Corporation. Sam and I have talked and we have made a decision to go outside of the USPW roster to fill this position. This man is a veteran in our business. He is someone I have trusted to go out there and work with some of the best this business has to offer. He's also an unselfish man as he has never once asked for a title reign so you can all not worry about him making himself the focus of the company. At this time, I would like to introduce you all to your new Head Booker: The Masked Avatar."

[i took in a deep breath and that was my cue to come out. I stepped from the hallway and stepped up beside a smiling Shane Sneer. Shane looked out to the crowd of wrestlers, as did I. You could have heard a pin drop within this room of large men as I stood beside Shane Sneer.]

The Masked Avatar

"Thank you, Shane. And you are right, I am not planning on making myself the focal point of the company. Each and every wrestler here has earned that right. From the women to the men, you all make this company special. This is not a company that has sold out to corporate greed or that is built just on being the opposite of another company. This is USPW. This is quite literally the best company out there. I am looking to build on the stories that Shane has started and also to start some new ones as well with the wrestlers who are not involved in a storyline right now. We are going to show the world exactly what United States Pro Wrestling is all about. I hope that you will give me the chance to prove myself in this capacity. Thank you and have a Happy New Year."

[There was silence after my speech. I was beginning to wonder if everyone was going to be upset at my being hired. Then another voice finally broke the quiet.]

"I would like to be the first one here to say welcome aboard. I've watched some of your matches in the past, Avatar, and I have to say that I lobbied Phil a few times to get you over to DAVE but he wouldn't budge on it. I'll be glad to work with you."

[Chris walked right up and shook my hand and that broke the ice there. I will definitely be forever grateful for that as Chris is known as a real locker room leader here in USPW. Everyone went back to what they were doing with several wrestlers approaching me, including James Justice, who wasn't thrilled about being kept in the dark. Also Doom wasn't too happy with me being here and he stayed in a corner with his arms crossed over his chest. He and I have had a few run-ins in the past but hopefully here he will allow by-gones to be by-gones and we can get a fresh start. But here we are: my first night as Head Booker here in USPW. I cannot wait to get started.]</div>

[With the New Year's Eve party finished and everyone out of the house, it was time to get down to business. We all moved into a large conference room that Sam had built into his home. We consisted of myself, Sam and Shane. And it was time to get down to business. So many people see the glamorous side of the business and want to get involved. However, what they don't think about is the research and the writing and all of the little things that make a television show exactly what you see each and every week.]

Sam Strong

"Hey, brother, it's time to get down to work. We have a show to put on this Wednesday night. You are now in almost full control of my company. We will have to see where you can take it. Shane has the information for you in a packet. If you need anything, feel free to call me, brother."

The Masked Avatar

"Thanks, Sam. I really appreciate you giving me this opportunity. I won't make you regret it."

[i watched as Sam exited the room, leaving me alone with Shane Sneer. Here comes the hard work and dedication that people do not get to see on television.]

Shane Sneer

"Alright, Avatar. This is everything you need to know about the company. By the end of this night, I want a list of everyone you want to contact to bring into the company, anyone you might want to fire and the card for this week's USPW American Wrestling. I will be working with you for the first month to get you settled in."

[it felt a little bit like I was being watched by a babysitter my first month. But there was nothing I could do about that.]

The Masked Avatar

"No one is getting fired the first month, Shane. I want to see what all of these guys give me and what their worth is to this company. Then there might be some firings later on if they do not fit what this company stands for. I am also aware that the American Wrestling show is being moved to 120 minutes instead of 90. That will make it easier for me to put everyone in the show. But what I want to do is move all the pay-per-views to the same day and week each month. It will make everything easier for the fans. Each pay-per-view will be on Sunday of the third week of the month."

Shane Sneer

"I will tell Sam."

But I have my number of posts per page set to 40. And I am working on setting the scene/tone for the diary. If it is not up to your standard or likes, I can understand that.
