Welcome the brand new mixed martial arts promotion: World Fighting Championship!

Frank Fertitta decided to set out on yet another adventure and has decided to own his own promotion. The company has 'medium' financing and will be looking to house some of the greatest fights.

General Info: I will be using the Modern Warriors 14 mod for this dynasty. It is my first one but I am going to try and stay extremely active and to keep everyone interested involved. My game will begin February 2014 (with all fighters records up to date - excluding the upcoming Henderson vs. Thomson card).

A Note: I will be implementing a similar idea as Chris2k did in his dynasty to add effect. However, I am merely going to do only 2 injuries per event. The injured fighters will be selected by: a) the flip of a coin. Heads is fighter one, tails is fighter two, and b) rolling a twelve sided die to see which fight is effected.

Rules and Format: Rules of the UFC. Once a month I will hold a TV show called "The Contenders" which will showcase the up and comers of a select division in a 8-man tournament. (The winner will be guaranteed a contract and the remaining fighters will have the possibility depending on their performance.) The tournaments will feature PRIDE rules. I will hold one PPV card each month that will feature 12 fights (likely 1 or 2 title matches) and three Friday "Fight Night" cards that will feature 10 bouts.

Betting: *Sorry if this section is confusing but I wanted to make this aspect of the dynasty fun!* Betting will work as follows: after an event is announced anyone wanting too will place a bet between 0-10 on who they think will win. If your fighter wins, you will receive the amount that you bet, however, if your fighter loses, you will lose that amount. (This should be fun as it adds a risk factor to betting.) As a bonus: if you also guess the way the fight will end and in which round you double your winnings (there will be no penalty for getting this incorrect.)

The person who wins the most points after an event gets to select a fight between any NON-RANKED fighters for the next card. The person with the most points after each year will get to select the fights for an entire card (excluding title fights and TOP contender fights.)

Now, TASK #1: I want YOU to help me build the roster!!! I want the company to start without HUGE names so no current champions or TOP contenders please. (I want their to be fighters that everyone likes though so don't be afraid to list a fighter that is already in a promotion. I will be signing guys as they become available in game too anyway!)

Below I will list 5-7 fighters from each of the promotions weight classes that I would like to see in the promotion. If anyone who will be following this thread could do the same then that'd be great! (Try to avoid double listing a fighter, you can do less than five if you want!)

I don't want to steal TOO many fighters from other promotions so if they are currently signed to another promotion see if they are either: a) their contract is almost over anyway, or b) they are on a losing skid. (As for gatekeepers in other promotions, I don't mind taking them!)

The World Fighting Championship will be holding its first event on Wednesday, Week 3, February 2014 in Massachusetts, USA.

WFC: The Contenders 1

The event is an 8-man tournament between the bottom eight ranked men of the heavyweight division. The winner will launch to the top of the rankings and earn himself a place among the sports elite. He will also walk away The Contenders 1 Champion.

The four qualifier matches are as follows:

Tom Murphy (8-0) vs. Josh Hendricks (18-7-1)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Tom Murphy was a cast member on season two of The Ultimate Fighter and one of the only fighters to leave the UFC undefeated. He has returned from retirement at the age of 39 to compete in the WFC. Josh Hendricks was a veteran of the UFC. Both men are wrestlers and a takedown battle can be expected.

Joaquim Ferreira (15-8) vs. Philip De Fries (9-3-1)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

This fight is bound to be a grappling war! Both men are BJJ fighters and have the ability to stop the fight at any moment once it gets to the ground. Philip De Fries three losses have came in the UFC, now that he has entered the WFC he is hoping to keep it that way.

Pat Barry (8-7) vs. Pedro Rizzo (19-11)

(No-Favourite)

Pedro Rizzo, both a veteran of the UFC and PRIDE, will have an experience advantage over Barry, however, Barry has fought many of MMA's elite fighters. This is a classic striker vs. striker matchup. The biggest questions are: a) will Barry's small size put him at a disadvantage and b) is the age of Rizzo (39) going to effect his performance.

Dan Severn (100-18-7) vs. Mark Ellis (1-1)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Dan Severn, sporting one of the most extensive MMA records of all time, will be facing newcomer Mark Ellis. Way outmatched in the experience department Mark Ellis' greatest advantage is that Severn is riding a losing streak and his age has began to show in his latest fights.

*Bets on predictions are now open - an additional bet may be placed on who you believe will win the tournament*

Joaquim Ferreira (15-8) vs. Philip De Fries (9-3-1)

De Fries shoots in for a takedown almost immediately, his pace and power made the completion inevitable. Ferreira is seated against the cage, but Philip yanks him off in order to get side control. De Fries transitions to the mount. Philip throws some unsuccessful ground and pound. Joaquim tries to roll De Fries but gives up his back! De Fries gets both hooks in and after a second try locks up the Rear Naked Choke! Ferreira taps!

Both men throw some strikes that do not land. Hendricks shoots for a takedown and is successful in completing it. Josh passes the guard of Murphy with ease and begins throwing some big strikes! Murphy keeps throwing, but he seems to have slowed down. He mounts Murphy and continues to strike. Hendricks looks fatigued. Josh’s striking has gotten sloppy. Murphy attempts a sweep back gives up his back. Hendricks gets both hooks in and attempts a Rear Naked Choke! Murphy defends. Tom continues to try and get out of this bad position. Both men look ragged. The Rear Naked Choke is once again attempted and defended. Hendricks immediately takes a third try and and Murphy taps to the Rear Naked Choke!

Preliminary Card

Eddie Sanchez (13-6) vs. Tim Sylvia (31-10-1NC)

(No Favourite)

Two veterans of the sport. Tim Sylvia is the former UFC Heavyweight Champion. Sanchez is coming of a 2-1 stint in Bellator, with his most recent fight being a loss. Tim Sylvia is looking to turn around his losing streak after going 0-2-1 in his last three fights.

Brandon Halsey (5-0) vs. Jason Brilz (18-5-1)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

Both men are wrestlers. Brilz owns the experience advantage but Halsey is not a prospect to overlook. Carrying a perfect 5-0 record momentum could play key fighting against Brilz who is 1-4 in his last five appearances.

Main Card

(#18) Chad Robichaux (13-2) vs. (#24) Rafael De Frietas (6-0-1)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Both men are BJJ fighters. Coming off two losses at Bantamweight, Chad won his Flyweight debut and is looking to keep his momentum going in this weight class. De Freitas is looking to move further up the flyweight rankings.

Javier Vasquez (16-5) vs. Renato Carneiro (7-0-1)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Another BJJ matchup. 3-2 in his last five fights, Javiers most recent win was a decision over UFC veteran Joe Stevenson. He takes on Carneiro who is looking to keep his perfect record intact.

(#25) Hideo Tokoro (32-26-2) vs. Ian Loveland (16-9)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

These two fighters can take the fight anywhere! Ian Loveland is looking to break into the top 25 rankings for Bantamweight and Tokoro is looking to climb the rankings for one last run at the title. Loveland rides a winning streak and Tokoro is coming off a loss that seen is streak end.

Jason Pierce (9-1) vs. Greg Soto (8-2)

(No Favourite)

This fight looks to be one of the best on the card! Both men are true mixed martial artist and the fight could go anywhere. Two fairly new fighters looking to move up the leaderboard in their division.

Sean Sherk (36-4-1) vs. Blake Fredrickson (15-4-1)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

Both men are wrestlers. Sherk has been plagued with injuries in recent years and was forced into retirement. He claims to be healthy and at his age has one last chance to make a run for the Lightweight Title. Blake is the favourite because no one knows if Sherk is truly healthy but Sherk is no newcomer to the underdog stature.

Chris Leben (26-11) vs. Sean Loeffler (25-5)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

Another contender for fight of the night, Chris Leben has been on a downslide in recent fights but he always promises to put on a show. He admitted to not being able to compete with the newcomers to the sport and hopes to find a home with WFC. Loeffler hopes a win here will secure him a place in the rankings. Leben will need to keep the fight on the feet to win.

Lightweight Tournament Semi-Finals

(#22) Joe Lauzon (23-9) vs. Dennis Hallman (52-14-2)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Two dangerous submission fighters. Lauzon is always a top contender for 'of the night' awards so don't miss this! Hallman is looking to break into the rankings with a win over Joe.

Co-Main Event

Lightweight Tournament Semi-Finals

(#15) Sam Stout (20-9-1) vs. Terry Etim (16-5)

Main Event

The World Fighting Championship will be holding its third event on Saturday, Week 4, February 2014 in Nevada, USA.

Broadcast live on Pay-Per-View

WFC 1: The Beginning

The event will feature a 4-man tournament for the WFC Heavyweight Title.

Preliminary Card

Mike Russow (15-3-1NC) vs. Jeff Monson (49-17-1)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

5-2 in his last seven fight Mike Russow had a great streak in the UFC. He is a submission wrestling and his the younger fighter. 3-4 in his last seven fights Jeff Monson is a veteran to the sport. In over 60 fights he has fought and beat some of the sports elite. Monson is going to use his wrestling to takedown Russow and try to avoid submissions. Both men are on two fight losing streaks.

Dhiego Lima (9-1) vs. Ben Saunders (16-6-2)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Lima is still somewhat an unknown prospect to the sport. He is riding a winning streak and has great skills in Muay Thai and BJJ. Ben Saunders has fought in both the UFC; the Ultimate Fighter, and Bellator. After being released from both its hard to tell where he stands in the sport. He practices a style of Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do.

Tyler East (11-3-1NC) vs. Frank Mir (16-8)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

Tyler East is a wrestling with a currently unknown potential. He is only 22 years old making him one of the WFC youngest fighters. Frank Mir is a UFC veteran who has truly beat some of the best in the world. Including his huge upsets of Brock Lesnar and Antonio Noguiera (twice). However, he now rides an awful losing streak and is looking to bounce back in the WFC.

Main Card

Max Nunes (11-1) vs. Ralek Gracie (3-0)

(No Favourite)

Max Nunes is a true MMA who can handle himself wherever a fight goes. He's a younger fighter with more in cage experience, but coming off the first loss of his career. Ralek Gracie… well, he’s a Gracie and he always has the chance of scoring a submission if the fight ends up on the ground.

Dileno Lopes (12-1) vs. Darren Uyenoyama (8-5)

(No Favourite)

Another hard one to judge. A BJJ matchup, Uyenoyama likely has the wrestling advantage and has definitely fought the tougher competition, but his losing streak could play a big factor in his confidence.

(#15) Kenji Osawa (20-10-2) vs. Jeff Curran (34-16-1)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Both fighters are veterans and this matchup should showcase a technical, experienced showdown! Osawa uses a unique style of Wajyutsu and Curran is a BJJ fighter.

Chris Horodecki (20-4-1) vs. Marcus Davis (22-10-1NC)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Chris 3-2 in his last five (the most recent being a loss) Horodecki has hit a “gatekeepers” slump. However, as his record shows, he has an ability to win. He’ll be looking to set himself up for a title run. Davis has more experience and his another veteran to MMA. He is 2-2-1 in his last five but feels he “still has some in the tank.” Striker vs. Striker. This could be fight of the night!

Doo Ho Choi (11-1) vs. Conor McGregor (14-2)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

A prospect out Korea Doo Ho Choi is only 23 years old. He is a kick boxer and BJJ fighter. He has no easy task ahead though. Conor McGregor is a hot prospect from Ireland. His kickboxing is second to none and his unique style always shocks opponents. In his last fight he even showcased a brilliant wrestling game.

Kendall Grove (19-13-1NC) vs. Jason Miller (24-9-1NC)

(No Favourite)

Both Mauy Thai and BJJ fighters its hard to say where this fight will go. However, whether its standing or on the ground, both these guys are always searching for a finish. Grove is 2-3 in his last five and Miller is 1-3-1.

Heavyweight Tournament Semi-Finals

(#12) Cheick Kongo (20-8-2) vs. Andrei Arlovski (20-10-1NC)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Both men are kick boxers but Arlovski will have an advantage on the ground with his sambo skills. Kongo is 3-2 in his last five and Arlovski is 2-2-1. Both these men are hungry for a title shot. Kongo never quite got there and Arlovski is looking to re-exemplify the old champion within himself.

Co-Main Event

Heavyweight Tournament Semi-Finals

(#8) Antonio Noguiera (34-8-1-1NC) vs. (#21) Shamil Abdurahimov (14-2)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Two top ranked elite heavyweight fighters. Both ground fighters (Noguiera BJJ, and Shamil Sambo). Another fight that has fight of the night written all over it these men are tired of being at the top without fighting for a title.

Main Event

*The main event will feature a bout between The semi-final winners. The bout will be for the WFC Heavyweight Title.*

*Bets on predictions are now open - an additional bet may be placed on who you believe will win the Heavyweight Title in the main event*

Pre-Fight Press Conference:

*It was announced that mmaaddicts selected fight; Tom Watson vs. Jesse Forbes, will take place at WFC 2: The Middlemen on Saturday, Week 3, of March 2014.

*Management is pleased that no injuries have occurred but they fear they will begin soon. They also assured that any bets placed on a fight effected by injury will be considered a win.

The World Fighting Championship will be holding its fourth event on Saturday, Week 3, March 2014 in Ohio, USA.

Broadcast live on Pay-Per-View

WFC 2: The Middlemen

The event will feature a 4-man tournament for the WFC Middleweight Title.

Preliminary Card

(#8) Ulysses Gomez (9-4) vs. Masayoshi Kato (7-4-1)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Both men have poor pro records. Gomez is a wrestler and Kato is a shooto fighter. They will each be looking to turn their luck around in the WFC with this fight.

Roger Hollett (13-5) vs. Ricardo Romero (11-3)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Both men are nearing the end of their careers at 35 years old. Hollett is a boxer and BJJ fighter and Romero is a wrestler. Both men likely have one final chance to make a title run and it could start with this fight.

(#7) Antonio Banuelos (20-10-1) vs. (#8) Charlie Valencia (12-7)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

A classic striker (Banuelos) vs. grappler (Valencia) matchup. Both men are 3-2 in their last five fights. However, Valencia has lost two in a row and his latest was an awful-to-watch-in-slow-motion knockout via Ivan Menjivar at UFC 129.

Main Card

(#10) Tom Watson (16-6) vs. Jesse Forbes (15-5)

(No Favourite)

This bout is brought to the fans by matchmaker mmaaddict. Boxer (Watson) vs. Wrestler (Forbes). The key to either fighter winning is making other other fight their game and not allowing the other to get into their own comfort zone. Watson is 2-3 in his last five cage appearances and Forbes is 1-4.

John Makdessi (12-2) vs. (#3) Evan Dunham (14-5)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

This bout was arranged by matchmaker CageRage. Another striker vs. grappler matchup, Makdessi is 3-2 in his last five fights and Dunham is 2-3. Makdessi has won his last three and Dunham has lost two in a row. Makdessi needs to use his winning streak as momentum since he has shown weakness on the group and Dunham poses a huge threat every time a fight hits the mat.

(#7) Jim York (16-5) vs. Steve Bosse (9-1)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

Jim York is the more well-rounded fighter being decent on the feet and ground but Bosse offers a big threat to York if he cant keep the fight on the feet.

(#6) Din Thomas (25-8) vs. (#7) Ronnie Mann (23-6-1)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

Thomas is ten years the elder of Mann but experience wise both men are pretty evenly matched. Mann is 4-4 in his last eight and Thomas is 5-3 in his last eight. If the fight hits the mat Mann will need to be in top position or else he will be in major trouble.

(#6) Jonathan Goulet (23-12-1NC) vs. (#8) Matt Riddle (7-3-2NC)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

Matt Riddle will also need to be on top if the fight hits the ground. He also has an awful reputation for positive marijuana test. Goulet should have the advantage in almost all positions but due to age its hard to consider him a favourite. Goulet is only 1-4 in his last five while Riddle is 2-1-2NC.

Middleweight Tournament Semi-Finals

(#5) Kazuhiro Nakamura (20-11) vs. (#6) Nate Quarry (12-4)

(Favourite) - (Underdog)

A freestyle fighter, Nate Quarry, is 3-2 in his last five fights. He will need to keep this fight on the feet if he wants to win. Nakamura, a great Judo fighter, is also 3-2 in his last five and will be looking to get this fight down to the mat.

Co-Main Event

Middleweight Tournament Semi-Finals

(#1) Yushin Okami (29-8) vs. (#3) Mamed Khalidov (27-4-2)

(Underdog) - (Favourite)

Both men are wrestlers but due to his Karate skills Mamed has the advantage on the feet. Okami will want to take this fight to the ground and work some GNP from top position. Khalidov is 4-1 in his last five and Okami is 3-2.

Main Event

*The main event will feature a bout between The semi-final winners. The bout will be for the WFC Middleweight Title.*

*Bets on predictions are now open - an additional bet may be placed on who you believe will win the Middleweight Title in the main event*

Pre-Fight Press Conference:

*It was announced that mmaaddicts selected fight; Justin Lawrence vs. Bart Palaszewski, will take place at WFC 3: Hard As Nails on Saturday, Week 2, of April 2014.

Cody East (3-1) vs. Kinney Spotwood (2-0)

(No-Favourite)

Another set of unknown prospects. East is a wrestler and Spotwood is a mixed martial artist.

Ben Gallant (2-1) vs. Nick Gaston (5-1-1NC)
