<strong>Lightweight Bout: (#15) Abel Trujillo (14-6-1 NC) vs. Charlie Brenneman (22-7)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

Round one begins! Brenneman tries for a spinning back fist but Trujillo moves out of range. Brenneman slips out of the way of a body kick. Trujillo shoots in, looking for a takedown. Trujillo finds his takedown blocked with a sprawl, and Brenneman promptly wrestles him to the ground, ending up on top, in half guard. Brenneman throws a few right hands, but is mainly trying to catch his breath. Trujillo tries a sweep from the bottom of half guard, but doesn't budge Brenneman. Brenneman attempts to arm triangle Trujillo from the top of half guard. Trujillo doesn't allow the arm triangle to be applied. Trujillo tries a sweep from the bottom of half guard, but doesn't budge Brenneman. We move into the second half of this round. Brenneman throws a few right hands to the body. Brenneman tries to pass the half guard. Trujillo keeps his half guard secure. Trujillo gets some separation and tries to scramble for position. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. The scramble leaves Trujillo turtled up, facing Brenneman. Brenneman rolls Trujillo out of turtle position and into side control. Brenneman punches down at Trujillo, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Round one ends as time expires. </p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Brenneman.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! Both throw strikes at each other, both easily defend the other's attempt. Brenneman moves out of range of a tidy combination of punches. Moving in closer, Trujillo looks like he may want to wrestle Brenneman. Brenneman finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. With underhooks giving him solid control over Brenneman, Trujillo looks for a takedown. A sweep of the legs is successful, Brenneman has to pull guard. Trujillo keeps Brenneman guessing with a few quick strikes. Using his leg strength to push Trujillo back a bit, Brenneman looks to scramble for position. There wasn't enough separation though, Trujillo is able to catch him and secure side control. Trujillo looks to roll Brenneman slightly and slip behind. Brenneman does well to keep Trujillo at side control. Brenneman tries to transition to a guard, but can't manage it. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Trujillo begins trying to get himself behind Brenneman. Trujillo isn't able to get behind Brenneman this time around. Trujillo blocks Brenneman as he tries a transition to guard. Trujillo tries to get into the mount position. Brenneman doesn't let Trujillo get the mount, and so he remains at side control. Brenneman tries to pull guard on Trujillo but doesn't get anywhere with the attempt. We're into the final minute of the round. Trujillo punches down at Brenneman, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Trujillo attempts to roll Brenneman slightly and take his back. Trujillo struggles but cannot get behind Brenneman. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Trujillo.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! Between rounds, his corner told Trujillo to watch for strikes but to be aware of takedown opportunities. A straight left fails to land and Brenneman is able to fire back with a clean jab. A left hand misses, allowing Brenneman to counter with a solid left jab. Brenneman counters a weak right kick with a left jab to the cheek. There's a stalemate as both fighters throw strikes but neither hits. Brenneman is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Trujillo. Trujillo tries to catch him by surprise with a takedown attempt, but it is blocked. Brenneman comes in closer, looking to clinch with Trujillo. Trujillo tries to counter with a takedown, but Brenneman defended it well. Abel Trujillo doesn't look like he has much left in the tank. We move into the second half of this round. Trujillo throws a looping punch, but Brenneman avoids it. Not letting up, Brenneman quickly steps in closer to attack Trujillo. Brenneman is getting in closer to Trujillo, perhaps looking for a clinch. Trujillo tries to counter with a takedown, but Brenneman defended it well. Moving in closer, Brenneman looks like he may want to wrestle Trujillo. The two fighters start grappling for control. There's under a minute left in this round. Using his wrestling skills, Brenneman is trying to push Trujillo up against the cage. Trujillo ends up backed against the cage. Brenneman smothers Trujillo against the cage and stomps down on his foot. Abel Trujillo looks very, very tired. Charlie Brenneman is looking really tired. Brenneman uses underhooks to gain solid control, and is looking for a takedown. The underhooks are used to set up a trip, Trujillo is left on his back and has to pull half guard. We reach the time limit and this fight is over.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Brenneman.</p><p> </p><p>

The judges have given their scores, which are about to be announced.</p><p> </p><p>

Judge #1 gives a score of 29-28 in favour of Trujillo.</p><p>

Judge #2 has scored it 29-28 Brenneman.</p><p>

Judge #3 scores the contest as 29-28 to Brenneman.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bantamweight Bout: Erik Perez (14-6) vs. Wilson Reis (16-5)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

And here we go! Advancing, Perez counters a right jab by using a flurry of quick punches. Reis waits out a flurry of punches and then hits a kick to the outside of the right leg. Perez comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Reis tries to step away from the takedown. Perez can't get the takedown, Reis was too quick to back away. Perez looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Reis. The two fighters move closer, ready to strike. Moving in closer, Perez looks like he may want to wrestle Reis. Reis ends up grappling for supremacy with Perez. Reis gets caught with a couple of nice short punches as Perez uses his dirty boxing to inflict some punishment. Perez attempts to pick Reis up for a slam. He can't get it though, Reis defends it and pulls away from the grapple entirely. Reis throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in.Perez tries to step away from the takedown. The takedown doesn't work, Perez saw it coming and got out of range. We go past the halfway point of this round. Perez avoids a jab. Reis circles around Perez. Perez steps in closer to force the issue. Perez throws out a couple of jabs as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Reis tries to avoid Perez. Reis avoids the takedown attempt. We have one minute of the round remaining. Reis comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Reis moves into the pocket. Reis throws a leg kick but Perez checks it easily. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a bit of a snoozer, hopefully the next round brings a little more action.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a close round, but I'm giving it to Perez, 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! Reis drops his shoulder and feints to step in, but Perez isn't buying it. Reis uses a smart combination to get Perez to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. The takedown is unsuccessful, Perez blocked Reis. Reis counters a wayward right jab with a jab. Reis throws a speculative left, but it is nowhere near hitting. It seems that Perez is happy to let Reis circle for the moment. Reis comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Perez tries to avoid Reis. Perez avoids the takedown attempt. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Reis hops around from foot to foot, looking for an opening. Perez seems to be waiting for Reis to make a move. Reis looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Perez. Reis is now standing in the pocket. Reis shoots in, looking for a close range double leg. Reis doesn't get the takedown, Perez saw it coming and was equal to it. We have one minute of the round remaining. Reis is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Perez. Perez seems happy to grapple with Reis. Reis tries to take Perez down. Perez feints high before throwing a kick to the body, but Reis avoids it. Perez looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Reis moves in too, and they start to grapple. Perez is trying to muscle Reis up against the cage. He does so, and now has Reis pinned to the cage. With the cage trapping Reis, Perez looks to try and take him down. Reis cannot stop the takedown, and gives up side control. Perez keeps Reis guessing with a few quick strikes. Reis gets some separation and tries to scramble for position. We pass the halfway mark of this round. As the scramble begins, Reis sees that Perez has left a leg in, and quickly tries to seize it. Unable to get the leg, Reis winds up on his back pulling guard. Perez starts trying to work to get past the guard. He can't find a way past the guard. Breathing very hard, Erik Perez is looking ragged. Reis tries to pull Perez into a guillotine choke from the bottom of the guard. Perez isn't caught tight enough to tap, but does get swept over into side control. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Reis attempts an armbar. Perez gets caught in an armbar! It's in deep! No! He pops his arm free. That was really close. Perez tries to sweep Reis but can't do it. The time runs out and that round is over, and so is the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Perez.</p><p> </p><p>

The fight begins! A jab misses and Masvidal counters with a right body kick. An errant jab sets Masvidal up to counter-strike with a kick to the ribs. Masvidal counters a left jab with a kick to the outside of the left knee. Chiesa keeps his cool as Masvidal throws a feint to the left. Masvidal feints left and throws an excellent combination but Chiesa is just able to cover up in time. Masvidal looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Chiesa. Chiesa uses movement to keep out reach, frustrating Masvidal.We pass the halfway mark of this round. Masvidal steps back to avoid a left jab. Chiesa misses with an attempted right hook to the body. Not letting Chiesa settle at all, Masvidal comes in closer. Masvidal looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Chiesa. Chiesa now has Masvidal standing in the pocket. Masvidal shoots in, looking for a close range double leg. Masvidal doesn't get the takedown, Chiesa was equal to it and pulls them into a clinch. We're into the final minute of the round. Chiesa is trying to push Masvidal so that his back is up against the cage. Chiesa manages it, and controls Masvidal up against the cage. Chiesa launches an elbow strike but Masvidal is ready and uses some wrestling to turn around so that Chiesa is the one against the cage. Chiesa is trapped up against the cage and takes repeated small punches to the body from that position. The round ends like that. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Masvidal.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! They both meet with strikes, but neither does any damage. Chiesa circles away, creating some distance between them. Masvidal comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Chiesa tries to avoid Masvidal. The takedown is unsuccessful, Chiesa avoided Masvidal. Masvidal feints stepping in. Chiesa fakes a lunge. Masvidal doesn't press the issue, allowing Chiesa to circle. Masvidal is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Masvidal cannot get close enough to the elusive Chiesa. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Masvidal looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Chiesa. Backing off, Chiesa makes sure to keep out of range. Masvidal uses a smart combination to get Chiesa to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. Masvidal can't get the takedown, Chiesa defends it well and pulls them into a clinch. There's under a minute left in this round. The grapple breaks up after a short struggle, and the two fighters step apart. Chiesa throws out a quick left jab. Masvidal steps in closer to force the issue. Masvidal comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Chiesa keeps himself moving out of range. The time runs out on round two.</p><p> </p><p>

Masvidal tries to pass the guard. Chiesa keeps Masvidal in guard. Chiesa tries to ensnare Masvidal in a guillotine. Chiesa gets the guillotine fully applied and Masvidal has to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

We are underway! Huerta avoids a jab. Varner counters a left jab with a lightning fast couple of jabs and a right cross. Huerta chooses to shoot in on Varner. Varner attempts to avoid Huerta as he shoots in. The takedown is unsuccessful, Varner avoided Huerta. Varner chooses to shoot in on Huerta. Varner doesn't get the takedown, Huerta was equal to it and pulls them into a clinch. Huerta attempts to pick Varner up for a slam. Huerta gets it! Varner manages to pull guard upon impact. Huerta begins trying to pass the guard. Varner is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Huerta firmly in guard. Huerta blocks an attempted sweep. We are now at the halfway point of the round. The clock runs down as Varner is being smothered against the ground by Huerta. Huerta tries to pass the guard. He passes to half guard. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Huerta starts trying to work to get out of half guard and into a better position. He passes half guard fairly easily, getting to side control. Huerta attempts to move to mount. Huerta shows his ground skills and slips to mount. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Huerta, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! A feint puts him off balance, and Huerta only just avoids a huge right hook. Varner uses a feint to get Huerta off balance, but the nice sequence of punches that follow don't find their mark. After a one-two combination narrowly misses, Huerta is able to strike back with a quick spinning back fist! Moving in closer, Huerta looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. Standing his ground, Varner looks happy to engage Huerta in the pocket. Not comfortable in the pocket, Varner steps back and creates some space. Varner avoids a kick to the leg and hits a superb combination of three quick punches to the body and a great right cross. Varner uses a nice combination as a set up, then shoots in for a takedown. Varner doesn't get the takedown, Huerta was equal to it and pulls them into a clinch. Huerta tries to wrestle Varner backward and up against the cage. Huerta achieves it, pinning Varner to the cage. We move into the second half of this round. Huerta has gotten underhooks in and is looking to take Varner to the ground. Varner blocks the takedown attempt and turns Huerta around so that he has his back to the cage. Huerta uses his wrestling skills to prevent Varner from attacking with dirty boxing. With Huerta stuck against the cage, Varner gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. Varner tries hard but cannot get Huerta off of his feet, and has to settle for slipping behind him instead. Huerta tries to uses a whizzer to turn Varner, but is blocked from doing so. We're into the final minute of the round. Grappling from behind, Varner tries to get up onto the back of Huerta to apply a choke. Huerta keeps his cool, and Varner cannot properly apply the choke. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Huerta, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Between rounds, his corner told Huerta to watch for strikes but to be aware of takedown opportunities. Both fighters fire off strikes, but neither does any significant damage. Huerta avoids a series of wayward big punches and counters with a vicious leg kick. Varner feints going high and then throws a barrage of big rights, with Huerta only just able to evade them. Varner avoids a leg kick and scores with a couple of jabs and a beautiful right hook to the body. A showdown where they both exchange strikes only results in a stalemate. Huerta comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Varner keeps himself moving out of range. We pass the halfway mark of this round. An exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Huerta comes in with a couple of jabs, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Varner tries to avoid Huerta. Huerta can't get the takedown, Varner was too quick to back away. Roger Huerta is breathing very hard. Jamie Varner is breathing very hard. Although visibly tired, Huerta looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Varner uses movement to keep out reach, frustrating Huerta. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Varner counters a left jab with a flurry of quick punches to sting Huerta. Although visibly tired, Varner looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Varner is in the pocket, ready to attack Huerta. Varner dodges a kick to the body and fires back with a solid right hook to the body. Huerta covers up, absorbing a flurry of punches. Time runs out and that's the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

Ishii reaches over and tries to lock Werdum in an arm triangle. Werdum defends himself well and is in no danger. Werdum bursts into life and tries to scramble into a better position. Ishii ends up on the bottom with Werdum in side control. Werdum tries to ensnare Ishii in an armbar. Ishii defends himself well and is in no danger. Werdum blocks an attempted sweep. Werdum looks to get a mount. He finds himself unable to get the mount on this attempt. Ishii tries to lock onto an arm from the bottom of side control. Werdum defends it. We move into the second half of this round. Werdum attempts to roll Ishii slightly and take his back. Ishii can't stop it and gives up his back! Werdum tries to lock Ishii in an armbar. Ishii pulls free of the armbar attempt, leaving Werdum lying flat, easily secured in side control. Ishii tries to lock Werdum in an armbar. Werdum fights off the armbar attempt. Werdum tries to lock on an arm-in guillotine from the bottom of side control. Werdum cannot get it applied. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

Werdum counters with a right hand that catches Ishii flush, rocking him! Werdum looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Ishii. Ishii catches the advancing Werdum by surprise with a takedown. Ishii looks to pass guard and get side control. Ishii struggles but cannot find a way past and remains stuck in guard. Werdum raises his legs and tries to get Ishii into a triangle choke. The triangle is locked in deep, Ishii has to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

There's the opening bell! Jung bobs and weaves, trying to get Hettes to commit. A tight combination narrowly misses Hettes and allow him to counter-strike with a straight right. Hettes steps back to avoid a one-two combination. Jung comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Jung moves into the pocket. Jung throws a nice sequence of punches, but Hettes covers up and none of the shots finds a home. Jung throws a right jab but Hettes uses good head movement to make sure it slips by. Jung slips past a jab and scores with a quick right hook, catching Hettes wide open and putting him down! Jung doesn't have time to capitalise though, as Hettes recovers his wits quickly. Jung motions for Hettes to stand up, which he does. We move into the second half of this round. There is an exchange of strikes, but neither fighter does any damage. A right jab misses the mark and allows Jung to counter with a great right hook which staggers Hettes backward, who then trips and goes down! Jung dives in quickly and secures mount on the dazed Hettes! Jung pounds away on Hettes, landing several great shots that rock Hettes! The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. Jung unloads with big punches from the mount, and Hettes is struggling to cope! Hettes obviously can't see a way out of this predicament as he taps!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

Round one begins! A right jab misses and Craig strikes back with a swift right kick to the leg. Craig tries for a leg kick but Okami moves out of range. Craig looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Okami. Okami seems happy to grapple with Craig. Craig is trying to push Okami so that his back is up against the cage. Craig can't move Okami at all though, and finds himself being out-wrestled. Okami tries to wrestle Craig backward and up against the cage. He does so, and now has Craig pinned to the cage. Okami tries to dirty box Craig, but finds himself out-wrestled and turned around so that he is the one against the cage. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Okami avoids a foot stomp attempt. Okami is controlled up against the cage and takes a few right hands via some dirty boxing. Okami takes a knee strike to the inside of his own knee. Craig drives a knee to the thigh area. Craig breaks the grapple and prepares to launch some strikes at Okami. Okami sees a low kick being set up and strikes first with a solid right jab. Craig lets a jab sail wide and counter-strikes with a left jab to the cheek. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. Craig throws a leg kick but Okami checks it easily. Okami looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Craig. He pulls Craig into a grapple. From the grapple, Okami tries to pick Craig up on his shoulder for a slam. Craig defends it well and slips away from his opponent. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Craig, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! A showdown where they both exchange strikes only results in a stalemate. Craig comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Okami. Okami seems happy to grapple with Craig. With underhooks giving him solid control over Craig, Okami looks for a takedown. The underhooks are used to set up a trip, Craig is left on his back and has to pull guard. Okami looks to pass guard and get side control. He can't find a way past the guard. Craig attempts to lock on a triangle choke. Okami shows great skill by twisting out of the triangle attempt and getting side control over Craig. Okami attempts to roll Craig slightly and take his back. Craig doesn't allow Okami to take his back. Craig tries to break free and scramble for position, but Okami keeps him trapped. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Okami tries to slip behind and take the back. Craig keeps Okami from getting behind him. Okami blocks an attempt to pull guard. Okami starts trying to work to use side control as a way to get behind Craig. He can't take the back. Breathing very hard, Yushin Okami is looking ragged. Okami blocks Craig as he tries a sweep from side control. We have one minute of the round remaining. Okami begins trying to get himself into mount. Okami struggles but cannot mount Craig. Okami blocks Craig as he tries to get enough separation to scramble up. The lack of progress forces the referee to stand the fighters back up. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Okami took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round three! Okami counters a wayward left jab with a flurry of small strikes. A drained-looking Okami tries to close the distance between them. Craig finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Okami is looking to muscle Craig back against the cage. Okami can't do it though, and ends up being out-wrestled in the grapple. The grapple breaks up after a short struggle, and the two fighters step apart. Craig avoids a huge left hand and hits a quick series of punches. Yushin Okami looks very, very tired. Andrew Craig is looking really tired. They both meet with strikes, but neither does any damage. Craig throws a couple of jabs, a set up for a tired-looking takedown attempt on Okami. The takedown is blocked with a sprawl! Okami has Craig at close quarters and wrestles him to the floor, finishing in his half guard. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Okami throws a few left hands to the body. Okami attempts to kimura Craig from the top of half guard. Craig blocks it. Craig reaches over and tries to lock Okami in a guillotine. A guillotine choke is applied; Okami isn't tapping out though! It looks like Okami must have been able to stop the choke from being fully sunk in. Craig eventually lets go, but may have gassed his arms by trying to squeeze out the submission. We're into the final minute of the round. The clock runs down as Craig is being smothered against the ground by Okami. The time runs out and that round is over, and so is the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Okami.</p><p> </p><p>

The judges have given their scores, which are about to be announced. All three judges have scored it 29-28.</p><p> </p><p>

Round one begins! A right jab misses and dos Anjos strikes back with a big left kick to the outside of the thigh. A crazy flying side kick only succeeds in giving dos Anjos the perfect opportunity to counter with a big left kick to the outside of the thigh. Erik Koch is going to end up limping if he takes too many more of those strikes. An errant jab sets Koch up to counter-strike with a superb spinning back roundhouse kick, putting dos Anjos down, dazed! Koch moves in quickly, kneeling beside dos Anjos and starting to hammer down with punches! Koch unloads with massive punches, dos Anjos is getting destroyed! The referee pulls Koch away, stopping the match!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! Both fighters fire off strikes, neither produces any significant damage. Carano feints stepping in. McMann counters an attempted body kick with a clean left. McMann has to cover up and back off after a barrage of big punches. Striking from the pocket, Carano catches McMann with a crisp right hook to the body. Carano lets a jab sail wide and counter-strikes with a barrage of huge punches, knocking McMann down! Carano knows that this is a golden opportunity, and quickly pounces on McMann, looking to finish her off by raining down punches! Carano pounds away with punches, hitting several big shots. Carano is only stopped by McMann pulling her down into side control. Carano looks to roll McMann slightly and slip behind. She does it, getting behind McMann. We go past the halfway point of this round. Carano tries to set up McMann for an armbar. McMann doesn't allow the armbar to be applied. McMann tries a roll, but doesn't budge Carano. Carano gets both hooks in, and is now in a really dominant position. Carano, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. McMann defends herself well against the choke. Carano keeps both hooks, despite McMann trying to pull them apart. We're into the final minute of the round. Carano, with both hooks in, attempts to get a rear naked choke fully applied. McMann doesn't allow the arm to go under her chin. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Carano took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Between rounds, her corner told Carano to try and use counter striking in this round. Both fighters come in and throw strikes, there is no real damage done by either. McMann comes in closer, looking to wrestle with Carano. Not wanting to grapple, Carano uses strikes to keep McMann at a distance. McMann looks like she might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Carano. McMann grabs Carano and pulls her into a grapple. McMann tries to wrestle Carano backward and up against the cage. She does so, and now has Carano pinned to the cage. McMann smothers Carano against the cage, then scores with a left to the side of the stomach. Carano gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh. Carano is trapped up against the cage and takes repeated small punches to the body from that position. This goes on for roughly a minute. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Showing how good she can be at controlling opponents, McMann keeps Carano stuck against the cage for about sixty seconds. The referee decides that there is a lack of progress being made and separates them. We're into the final minute of the round. McMann hops around from foot to foot, looking for an opening. The fight slows as Carano sits back and allows McMann to circle. McMann looks like she wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Carano. McMann is forced to use her gloves to deflect a sudden counter right. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

I think McMann took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! McMann sees a right body kick coming, grabs it, shoots in for a takedown, getting it! Carano manages to pull guard. McMann attempts to pass guard. Carano can't do anything about the pass, and is left under side control. McMann begins trying to get herself into mount. She can't get the mount as Carano rolls away to stop it, but does take her back instead. McMann successfully gets both hooks in, and seems primed to finish. With both hooks in and therefore great control of the body, McMann tries to finish Carano off with a rear naked choke. Carano doesn't allow the rear naked choke to be applied. Gina Carano is looking really tired. We pass the halfway mark of this round. McMann, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. Carano fights off the rear naked choke attempt. Sara McMann is breathing very hard. McMann has solid control over Carano, and starts pounding away with right hands. Carano is barely able to do anything at all, she cannot get out from under McMann! With Carano stuck and taking a pounding, the referee has to stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

The winner, by TKO, is Sara McMann!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Welterweight Bout: (#2) Martin Kampmann (23-8) vs. (#1) Jake Ellenberger (32-9)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! Kampmann avoids a tight combination. Ellenberger fakes a shot, trying to get Kampmann to drop his hands. Ellenberger is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to Kampmann. Kampmann finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Ellenberger is trying to muscle Kampmann up against the cage. He does so, and now has Kampmann pinned to the cage. Kampmann is pressed up against the cage and held there, taking the occasional short punch to the ribs and stomach, for roughly a minute. Ellenberger tries to throw an elbow, but Kampmann takes the opportunity to turn his opponent around so that Ellenberger ends up backed against the cage instead. We move into the second half of this round. Kampmann goes for a foot stomp, but Ellenberger senses the shift in balance and reverses so that he is the one in control. Showing his ability to control opponents, Ellenberger smothers Kampmann against the cage while nailing him with short strikes to the body for about sixty seconds. We have one minute of the round remaining. Having been stuck against the cage for a while without any progress, the referee brings them back to the center. Kampmann is getting in closer to Ellenberger, perhaps looking for a clinch. Ellenberger is pulled into a Muay Thai clinch. Kampmann can't maintain his hold, and Ellenberger wrestles his way into a wrestling clinch. Ellenberger is trying to muscle Kampmann up against the cage. Kampmann ends up backed against the cage. Round one ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

That wasn't the most exciting round we've ever seen, hopefully things will pick up in the next one.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Ellenberger.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! A feint sets up Kampmann to try a spinning back kick, but Ellenberger evades it. Kampmann counters a one-two combination with a quick spinning back fist! Kampmann feints left and tries to get Ellenberger to commit to a strike, but gets no joy. Ellenberger counters a right kick to the body by hitting a clean jab. Kampmann counters a one-two combination with a wild spinning back kick, knocking Ellenberger down! Kampmann senses victory and starts to unload with punches! Kampmann pounds away, Ellenberger is in serious trouble! The strikes are stopped when Ellenberger manages to pull Kampmann down into side control. Kampmann uses side control to hit a knee just above the hip. Kampmann attempts an armbar. Kampmann gets an armbar fully applied! Out of the blue, Ellenberger pops his arm free! Kampmann must not have had it locked in as tight as it looked. Ellenberger tries a sweep from the bottom of side control, but doesn't budge Kampmann. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Kampmann attempts to americana Ellenberger from side control. Ellenberger defends himself well. Ellenberger tries to sweep Kampmann but can't do it. There's under a minute left in this round. The lengthy period of stalemate results in the referee standing them both back up. Ellenberger sees a right body kick coming, grabs it, shoots in for a takedown, but Kampmann is able to stuff it. Kampmann looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Ellenberger sees a chance to dive for a single leg, but Kampmann is able to defend against it. Jake Ellenberger is breathing very hard. The time is up, and that's the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of Kampmann.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number three begins! From what we could hear of his corner, it sounds like Ellenberger has been instructed to look to finish it in this round. Kampmann waits for a flurry of punches to stop, then hits a kick to the ribs. Kampmann drops his shoulder as a feint, trying to draw a strike. Kampmann feints rushing in, but withdraws. Kampmann counters an attempted knock out punch with a vicious head kick, knocking Ellenberger out cold!</p><p> </p><p>

Early reports are that the injury will rule him out of his scheduled UFC Fight Night: Cormier vs. Cavalcante which to take place on 29 August in South Africa.</p><p> </p><p>

To replace Randaime, the UFC called Yuka Tsuji (27-3) to the co-main event against Shayna Baszler.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

We are underway! There is an exchange of strikes, but neither fighter does any damage. An exchange of strikes doesn't lead to any real damage. From the missed strikes they clinch. Penne out-wrestles Davis and gets herself into a better position in the grapple. Penne, controlling the grapple with Davis, tries to scoop her up for a slam. Davis defends it well and slips away from her opponent. Penne counters a left jab by hitting a leg kick. Penne slips past a left jab and fires back with a nice left hand. We are now at the halfway point of the round. A speculative right hand from Davis doesn't find a home. Penne steps in closer to force the issue. Penne looks like she might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Davis. Penne grapples with Davis, who made no attempt to escape. Penne looks to scoop her opponent up for a slam. Penne has her! Slams her down! Davis pulls guard. Penne tries to pass the guard. She does excellently, getting past the guard and into side control. We have one minute of the round remaining. Penne tries to lock Davis into an armbar. Penne gets an armbar and applies pressure to the arm, Davis is in huge trouble! Shockingly, Penne loses it! Davis pops her arm free, and has somehow survived! Time expires and we come to the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Penne took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

And here we go, round two! It sounded like her corner told Penne to attempt to get Davis to the floor in this round. Davis slips out of the way of a crazy spinning back fist. Both fighters come toe-to-toe and strike, but none of the strikes result in significant damage being done. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up clinched. Penne tries to lock her legs around the waist of Davis, wanting to pull her down to the floor. Penne gets it, Davis is now trapped in her guard. Penne tries to ensnare an arm. Davis blocks the attempt, but does get swept over by it, ending under side control. Penne throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. Penne feels Davis prepare to scramble for position and makes sure it doesn't happen. Penne throws a few weak-looking punches as she decides on her next move. Davis looks ready to try and scramble, but Penne is quick to move to prevent that. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Penne starts trying to work to use side control as a way to get behind Davis. Davis can't stop it and gives up her back! Penne gets both hooks in, and is now in a really dominant position. Penne, with both hooks fully in, tries to get the rear naked choke applied. Penne gets the rear naked choke fully applied and Davis has to tap out!</p><p> </p><p>

Round one begins! Cote feints rushing in, but Kim doesn't fall for it. A right jab misses and Cote strikes back with some big right hands! Showing good head movement, Kim slips past a tight combination and counter-strikes with a solid right jab. Kim slips past a tidy combination and hits a clean punch. Cote slips past a jab and scores with some heavy right hands...Kim can only cover up and try and survive! Kim collapses to the ground and is still getting pounded on! The referee is forced to jump in and stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

Patrick Cote takes the victory by way of TKO!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! Rockhold slips out of the way of a crazy spinning back fist. Rockhold counters a left jab with a crisp jab. A weak body kick is countered by Romero with a crisp left hand punch. Romero covers up in the face of a combination of short sharp punches, then fires back with some big right hands! Rockhold looks shaken! He appears to be on rubbery legs after that last strike! Instinctively, the groggy Rockhold drops down and goes for a takedown. Romero tries to step away from the takedown. Rockhold doesn't get the takedown, Romero avoided it. Romero glances a strike off the side of the shoulder. Rockhold doesn't let Romero settle, stepping in closer to impose himself. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Rockhold looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Rockhold is now standing in the pocket. Romero checks a low kick and quickly hits a barrage of rights! Rockhold gets knocked down and Romero keeps up the pressure with punch after punch! With Rockhold taking a lot of big punches, the referee has to stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

There's the opening bell! Woodley tries for a left jab but MacDonald moves out of range. Woodley looks to be trying to close the distance between them. MacDonald ends up grappling for supremacy with Woodley. MacDonald smothers Woodley when he tries to use some dirty boxing, and gains the upper hand in the grapple as a result. With control of the clinch, MacDonald tries to complete a takedown. He has the takedown! Woodley pulls guard. MacDonald attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. Woodley comfortably blocks the attempt and keeps MacDonald in guard. Woodley secures an arm and tries to ensnare MacDonald in a triangle. MacDonald brilliantly spins out of the attempt and gets side control. We move into the second half of this round. MacDonald tries to lock Woodley into an armbar. Woodley doesn't allow the armbar to be applied. Woodley tries to pull guard on MacDonald but doesn't get anywhere with the attempt. MacDonald attempts an arm triangle. Woodley blocks it. MacDonald blocks Woodley as he tries a transition to guard. We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. MacDonald attempts to move to mount. MacDonald struggles but cannot mount Woodley. Time expires and we come to the end of round one. Not much happened in that round, hopefully the fighters will pick up the pace a bit when we restart.</p><p> </p><p>

I think MacDonald took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! An exchange of strikes doesn't lead to any real damage. MacDonald goes to the body and then to the head with a tidy combination to get Woodley to cover up, then shoots in. Woodley cannot stop the takedown, and has to pull guard. Woodley is controlled against the ground, unable to shift MacDonald off of him. Time slips away as MacDonald successfully keeps Woodley stuck against the ground. MacDonald pounds away from the guard, but Woodley isn't troubled by the strikes. Woodley raises his legs and tries to get MacDonald into a triangle choke. MacDonald shows great skill by twisting out of the triangle attempt and getting side control over Woodley. MacDonald throws a few weak-looking punches as he decides on his next move. MacDonald begins trying to get himself into mount. He can't get the mount. Woodley tries to grab an arm-in guillotine. MacDonald alters his posture to prevent it. The time runs out on round two.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd say that was definitely 10-9 in favour of MacDonald.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number three begins! Between rounds we could hear the corner of MacDonald telling him to watch for strikes but to look for takedown opportunities. MacDonald almost tastes a head kick after falling for a feinted inside leg kick. MacDonald just slips out of the way of a flurry of strikes, having been off balance after falling for a feint. Woodley feints to the right, trying to draw MacDonald into throwing a strike. MacDonald goes to the body and then to the head with a tidy combination to get Woodley to cover up, then shoots in. Woodley sees the takedown coming and tries to move. The takedown is unsuccessful, Woodley avoided MacDonald. Woodley circles, looking for an opening. The fight slows as MacDonald sits back and allows Woodley to circle. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Moving in closer, Woodley looks like he wants to strike from the pocket. MacDonald strikes first and manages to rock Woodley with a solid right, sending him down to the ground, stunned! MacDonald starts pounding away on Woodley, looking to finish him off! MacDonald pounds away, Woodley is barely able to offer any defence at all! The referee jumps in and saves Woodley from taking any more shots!</p><p> </p><p>

He finds himself unable to pass guard on this attempt. Njokuani throws out some punches, but Parke leans back to avoid them. There's under a minute left in this round. Parke begins trying to pass the guard. He can't get free of the guard. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Between rounds we could hear the corner of Parke telling him to watch for strikes but to look for takedown opportunities. An errant jab sets Njokuani up to counter-strike with a nice left hand. Njokuani moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a straight left. Parke sees a right body kick coming, grabs it, shoots in for a takedown, and gets it! Njokuani has to pull guard. Looking to catch his breath, Parke is content to just throw a couple of punches to the body. Parke lies on top of Njokuani, basically smothering him. Time slips away as Parke successfully keeps Njokuani stuck against the ground. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Parke begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. He can't get free of the guard. Njokuani tries to pull Parke in close and pepper him with short strikes, but can't. Parke begins trying to pass the guard. Parke isn't able to pass guard on this attempt. Parke leans back to avoid a couple of wild swings from Njokuani. We're into the final minute of the round. With no progress being made, the referee stands them back up. Both fighters advance and strike, but neither hits anything. Parke steps back to avoid a flurry of punches. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out. </p><p> </p><p>

You can hear some boos from the audience, they weren't impressed with that round at all.</p><p> </p><p>

There's the bell and round number three begins! Njokuani scores with a brutal flying knee, and Parke is knocked down! Almost immediately Parke has shaken it off and is ready for Njokuani. Parke is allowed to stand back up, Njokuani simply stepped away. Parke buys a feint and walks right into a barrage of big right hands that put him down! Parke, stunned, is mounted! Njokuani unloads with some big elbows, but Parke deals with them comfortably. Parke tries a sweep from the bottom of the mount, but doesn't budge Njokuani. Njokuani pounds away with punches from the mount and Parke is in big trouble! Njokuani pounds away from the mount, and Parke struggles to deal with them. Njokuani tries to pound on Parke, but all the blows are comfortably dealt with. Parke tries to sweep Njokuani out of mount but can't do it. We pass the halfway mark of this round. A showdown where they both exchange strikes only results in a stalemate. Having stepped in close to throw their strikes, they end up clinched. Lentz tries to suck Curran to the ground by wrapping his legs around the waist and pulling guard. Lentz gets it, Curran is now trapped in his guard. Lentz attempts a triangle choke on Curran from the bottom of the guard. Curran doesn't let Lentz get it. Lentz fights off Curran as he tries to smother him against the ground. Lentz attempts a triangle choke on Curran from the bottom of the guard. Curran defends well against it. Curran begins trying to pass the guard. He can't quite manage to get past guard on this attempt. We go past the halfway point of this round. Lentz tries to ensnare Curran in a triangle. Curran blocks the triangle attempt. Curran smothers Lentz with his body by pushing forward and down. We're into the final minute of the round. Curran keeps Lentz guessing with a few quick strikes. In guard, Curran begins working to pass to side control. Curran isn't able to pass guard on this attempt. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

There was very little to separate them in that round, but I'll give that one 10-9 to Lentz.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Curran bobs and weaves, trying to get Lentz to commit. Lentz counters a left jab with a clean jab. Lentz throws a left jab but Curran avoids it. Curran is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Lentz waits for Curran to step in, then he scores with a quick takedown. Lentz lies on top of Curran, basically smothering him. Lentz throws a few right hands as he takes a moment to plan ahead. Lentz throws a few right hands to the body. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Lentz begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. Curran is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Lentz firmly in guard. Lentz feels Curran prepare to scramble for position and makes sure it doesn't happen. Lentz throws a few right hands as he takes a moment to plan ahead. Lentz punches down at Curran, but they are easily taken on the gloves. Lentz gets pushed back thanks to a butterfly guard, and Curran quickly scrambles. He isn't fast enough, and has to turtle up with Lentz on top of him. There's under a minute left in this round. In turtle position Curran does not allow Lentz to roll him over. Curran gets back to his feet. Time expires and we come to the end of round two.</p><p> </p><p>

Not much happened in that round, hopefully the fighters will pick up the pace a bit when we restart.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Lentz.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Round three begins! Judging from what we heard from his corner, Curran is looking to push the pace with strikes in this round. Lentz avoids a series of wayward big punches and counters with a crisp left hand punch. Curran slips past a left jab and fires back with a couple of jabs and a beautiful right hook to the body. Lentz comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Lentz doesn't get the takedown, Curran saw it coming and was equal to it. A straight left fails to land and Lentz is able to fire back with a big right kick to the outside of the thigh. Strikes to the leg like that will take their toll. Curran looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Seeing an opportunity, Lentz goes straight into a takedown, putting Curran down into guard. Lentz attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. He can't find a way past the guard. Curran gets the double underhooks in and pulls Lentz close, controlling him well. We go past the halfway point of this round. Lentz attempts to pass guard. Curran keeps his guard secure. From the bottom, Curran glances an elbow strike off the top of the head. We have one minute of the round remaining. Lentz begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. Curran keeps his guard secure. Curran pulls Lentz in close and hits a series of short, sharp punches to the side of the head. The fight comes to an end as the time limit expires.</p><p> </p><p>

An extremely close round, could have gone either way, but personally I'll give it to Curran 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

Alvarez slips past a right jab and fires back with a kick to the inside of the right thigh. Patrick throws a right jab but Alvarez avoids it. Patrick fakes a lunge. Not letting up, Alvarez steps in closer to pressure Patrick into action. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Patrick covers up to absorb a tidy combination of punches and then hits a solid right jab. Patrick darts in and out of range quickly, trying to get Alvarez to commit to throwing a strike. Patrick circles as he plans his next move. Alvarez quickly gets in closer, looking to attack. Alvarez comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Patrick attempts to avoid Alvarez as he shoots in. The takedown is completed, it was a single leg and Patrick is left on his back pulling guard. The clock runs down as Patrick is being smothered against the ground by Alvarez. We have one minute of the round remaining. Alvarez attempts to pass guard. Patrick keeps Alvarez in guard. The time is up, and that's the end of round one.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Alvarez.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Patrick feints left, then right. Alvarez looks like he might be trying to get in close to clinch with Patrick. Patrick finds himself pulled into a Muay Thai clinch. Using the clinch, Alvarez hits a big elbow to the face of Patrick. Patrick uses his grappling to move from being stuck in a Muay Thai clinch to the collar-and-elbow position. Alvarez tries to wrestle Patrick backward and up against the cage. Alvarez achieves it, pinning Patrick to the cage. Alvarez shows great control, keeping Patrick pressed against the cage while punishing him with sharp strikes to the body for roughly a minute. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Alvarez hits two knee strikes to the thigh. Patrick is pressed up against the cage and simply can't break the control that Alvarez has over him. This goes on for about a minute. Patrick gets caught with a knee to the inside of the thigh, twice. The referee decides that the grappling against the cage has been going on too long, and he brings them back to the center. Patrick dives forward, trying to grab a leg! Grabbing a leg, Patrick looks for a kneebar but Alvarez blocks it from being applied. Patrick settles for tripping him and being pulled into guard. We have one minute of the round remaining. Patrick tries to smother Alvarez but can't keep control long enough. Alvarez attempts a triangle choke on Patrick from the bottom of the guard. Patrick pulls free before the triangle can be locked in. Patrick attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. Patrick isn't able to pass guard on this attempt. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

Moving in closer, Alvarez looks like he may want to try and clinch with Patrick. Alvarez can't get close enough to clinch, Patrick keeps him away with strikes. Patrick looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Patrick and Alvarez get closer, both looking eager to engage at close range. Not comfortable in the pocket, Patrick steps back and creates some space. Alvarez is getting in closer to Patrick, perhaps looking for a clinch. Patrick finds himself pulled into a Muay Thai clinch. Patrick partially blocks a knee strike, enough to allow him to wrestle free of the clinch. We go past the halfway point of this round. Patrick looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Patrick and Alvarez get closer, both looking eager to engage at close range. Alvarez slips past a wild spinning back fist and counters with a series of quick, sharp punches. A right jab misses, giving Alvarez the chance to hit back with a solid left jab. Standing in the pocket, Patrick has to be alert to avoid a spinning heel kick aimed at the lower legs. Eddie Alvarez is looking really tired. Patrick backs away from Alvarez, creating some space between them. We're into the final minute of the round. Alvarez steps back to avoid a kick to the body. Patrick comes in closer, looking to attack from the pocket. Alvarez seems happy to engage with Patrick in the pocket. Standing in the pocket, Alvarez catches an attempted body kick and goes for the takedown, getting it! Patrick gets half guard. Alvarez attempts to kimura Patrick from the top of half guard. Patrick stops Alvarez from applying it. We reach the time limit and this fight is over.</p><p> </p><p>

Baszler tries to smother Tsuji against the cage, but is struggling to maintain control. Tsuji tries to slip on a guillotine choke, but can't quite hook it. Baszler drives a knee to the thigh area twice in quick succession. Tsuji struggles back against Baszler, not allowing her to control the grappling. Tsuji tries to slip on a guillotine choke, but can't quite hook it. Baszler launches an elbow strike but Tsuji is ready and uses some wrestling to turn around so that Baszler is the one against the cage. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Tsuji uses underhooks to gain solid control, and is looking for a takedown. A Greco-Roman slam floors Baszler, Tsuji executed it well. Baszler ends up sitting, her legs trapped under Tsuji, with her back pressed against the cage. Tsuji looks to get a more dominant position by pushing Baszler from a seated position onto her back. Tsuji shifts her position to gain side control. Tsuji tries for a knee strike but is unbalanced by Baszler and can't connect properly. There's under a minute left in this round. Tsuji uses side control to hit a brutal knee strike just above the hip! Tsuji tries to get into the mount position. She can't mount Baszler. Baszler tries to break free and scramble for position, but Tsuji keeps her trapped. The time runs out on round one.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Tsuji took that round, 10-9 on my score card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number two begins! Baszler gets suckered in by a feint, and is lucky to avoid the combination that follows. They exchange strikes, but neither fighter inflicts any real damage. Tsuji comes in closer, looking to clinch with Baszler. She pulls Baszler into a Muay Thai clinch. Baszler wrestles free of the Muay Thai clinch after blocking a knee strike. Tsuji is getting in closer to Baszler, perhaps looking for a clinch. Tsuji grabs Baszler and pulls her into a Muay Thai clinch. Baszler uses her grappling to move from being stuck in a Muay Thai clinch to the collar-and-elbow position. We move into the second half of this round. Tsuji tries to wrestle Baszler backward and up against the cage. Baszler ends up backed against the cage. With Baszler stuck against the cage, Tsuji gets the underhooks and looks for a takedown. A sweep of the legs is successful, Baszler has to pull guard. Time slips away as Tsuji successfully keeps Baszler stuck against the ground. Tsuji begins trying to pass guard and get a better position. She finds herself unable to pass guard on this attempt. Baszler tries a sweep from the bottom of the guard, but doesn't budge Tsuji. Shayna Baszler doesn't look like she has much left in the tank. We're into the final minute of the round. Baszler is controlled against the ground, unable to shift Tsuji off of her. Round two ends as time expires.</p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Tsuji, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell and round number three begins! Between rounds, her corner told Baszler to take it to Tsuji in this round. Tsuji counters an errant left jab with a sharp body kick. Tsuji looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Baszler is pulled into a grapple. Baszler tries to wriggle free, but Tsuji controls her well and gets in a few close-range punches too. Baszler gets caught with a couple of nice short punches as Tsuji uses her dirty boxing to inflict some punishment. Yuka Tsuji is breathing very hard. Tsuji tries to wrestle Baszler backward and up against the cage. Tsuji manages it, and controls Baszler up against the cage. Tsuji catches Baszler with a knee strike to the thigh. Tsuji nails Baszler with a hard right hand to the side of the head, stunning her. Yuka Tsuji looks like she is on the verge of exhaustion. Baszler wrestles back against Tsuji, turning her around so that she now has her back to the cage. Shayna Baszler looks very, very tired. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Baszler catches Tsuji with a knee strike to the thigh. Baszler catches Tsuji with a knee strike to the thigh. Baszler smothers Tsuji against the cage, then hits her with a knee strike to the ribs. Tsuji gets caught with a knee to the side of the stomach. With the fighters having been stuck against the cage for quite a while, the referee bringing them back to the center. There's under a minute left in this round. Baszler comes in closer, despite her tiredness, looking to attack from the pocket. She gets into range. Tsuji uses head movement to cause a left jab to sail harmlessly by. Baszler circles away, creating some distance between them. Time runs out and that's the end of the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

Feijao tries to avoid Cormier. The takedown is unsuccessful, Feijao avoided Cormier. Feijao feints going high and then throws a barrage of big rights, with Cormier only just able to evade them. A nicely executed one-two combination sets up a takedown attempt from Feijao. Cormier stuffs the takedown attempt. Feijao darts in and out of range quickly, trying to get Cormier to commit to throwing a strike. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. There is an exchange of strikes, but neither fighter does any damage. Feijao looks like he wants to stand in the pocket and strike with Cormier. Feijao is in the pocket, ready to attack Cormier. From the pocket, Feijao shoots in for a double leg. Feijao can't get past the sprawl of Cormier, and finds himself pushed face-down to the ground. Cormier fires away with punches, and Feijao takes several shots that threaten to end the fight! The referee jumps in and stops the match! Feijao is angry with the referee, and perhaps rightly - it did look like an early stoppage.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

Round one begins! Brunson feints left, then right. Brunson counters a leg kick by grabbing it and attempting a takedown, and gets it! Watson has to pull guard. In guard, Brunson begins working to pass to side control. Watson keeps Brunson in guard. Watson tries a sweep from the bottom of the guard, but doesn't budge Brunson. Brunson attempts to pass guard. Watson is ready for the attempt though, and keeps Brunson firmly in guard. Watson uses his legs to push Brunson away, into a standing position. On his back, Watson watches as Brunson comes in looking to get a dominant ground position. Watson scoots backward as soon as Brunson comes in, initiating a scramble for position. We pass the halfway mark of this round. Watson ends up in half guard. Watson gets out of half guard and stands up, letting Brunson stand too. Brunson steps back to avoid a one-two combination. Brunson avoids a tight combination. We have one minute of the round remaining. Watson looks to move in and stand in the pocket. Watson is in the pocket, ready to attack Brunson. Brunson, standing at close range, catches a body kick and goes for a takedown, getting it! Watson pulls guard. In guard, Brunson catches his breath, content just to throw a couple of punches to the body. Brunson tries to pass the guard. Watson keeps his guard secure. Round one is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

That round goes to Brunson, 10-9 on my card.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

Round two begins! Brunson throws a feint. Watson moves in quickly after a wayward punch and hits a spinning back fist, staggering Brunson backward! Watson counters a right jab with a solid left jab. Brunson comes in, looking for a quick takedown. Brunson gets a single leg takedown, but as soon as Watson hits the ground he spins out and away and gets back to his feet. Watson glances a strike off the side of the shoulder. The fight slows as Brunson sits back and allows Watson to circle. Watson drops his shoulder and feints to step in, but Brunson isn't buying it. We are now at the halfway point of the round. Brunson slips out of the way of a combination of short sharp punches. Watson misses with an attempted right hook to the body. Time slips away as Brunson doesn't press Watson, allowing him to circle. A tidy combination doesn't find a home, giving Brunson the opportunity to counter with a jab. The end of the round is coming quick, there's under a minute left. A weak body kick is countered by Brunson with a crisp right hand punch. Brunson moves out of range of a tidy combination of punches. Time expires and we come to the end of round two. There are some audible boos from the crowd, that wasn't the most exciting round we've ever seen.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Watson.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! It sounded like his corner told Watson to stand and try to use counter striking against Brunson in this round. Watson counters a right jab by using a powerful right hook to the body. A right kick to the legs misses and Brunson fires back with a clean jab. Brunson looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with Watson. Brunson cannot get close enough to the elusive Watson to grapple. Brunson is looking to get in close and strike from the pocket. Brunson is now standing in the pocket. Standing in the pocket, Brunson chooses to shoot in for a double leg on Watson. The takedown is successful, it's a single leg that leaves Watson pulling guard. Tom Watson looks very tired out there. Brunson tries to pound on Watson, but all the blows are comfortably dealt with. Watson works some separation, then tries to quickly scramble his way into a better position. He may regret that choice, as it gives Brunson the perfect opportunity to come over the top and get side control. We move into the second half of this round. Brunson looks to get a mount. Watson rolls to the side to try and escape the mount, but only succeeds in giving up his back instead. Brunson attempts an armbar. Brunson rolls to try and get the armbar, but Watson pulls free and easily secures side control. Watson lets go of side control and stands up, then backs off, wanting the fight standing. Brunson bobs and weaves, trying to get Watson to commit. We have one minute of the round remaining. Brunson uses a flurry of lefts and rights to get Watson to cover up, then shoots in looking for a takedown. He has the takedown! Watson pulls guard. Brunson pounds away, but Watson keeps him far enough away to remain safe. The attack does see Brunson get pushed away though, right out of guard, and is now standing. Brunson looks to get on top of Watson. Watson is unable to prevent Brunson from getting side control. Brunson tries to lock Watson into a kimura. Watson defends himself well and is in no danger. Tom Watson looks very, very tired. The fight comes to an end as the time limit expires. </p><p> </p><p>

I have to give that round to Brunson, but only a 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

The judges have given their scores, which are about to be announced. All three judges give a score of 29-28.</p><p> </p><p>

So the winner, by unanimous decision, is Derek Brunson!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1</strong></p><p>

There's the opening bell! Hathaway counters a left jab by using a crisp left hand punch. McGee looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Hathaway finds himself pulled into a grappling contest. Using his wrestling skills, McGee is trying to push Hathaway up against the cage. McGee can't do it though, and Hathaway gets a more dominant position in the grapple instead. Hathaway tries to wrestle McGee backward and up against the cage. Hathaway does it, McGee is stuck with his back to the cage. Hathaway uses underhooks to gain solid control, and is looking for a takedown. McGee cannot stop being lifted up and blasted with a Greco-Roman slam, he can only pull guard! Hathaway attempts to pass guard and gain a better position. He can't get free of the guard. McGee tries to ensnare Hathaway in a triangle. Hathaway counters the triangle attempt superbly by twisting out of it and gaining side control. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. Hathaway begins trying to get himself into a mount. McGee doesn't let Hathaway get the mount, and so he remains at side control. McGee tries to break free and scramble for position, but Hathaway keeps him trapped. Hathaway tries to lock McGee into an armbar. McGee gets caught by the armbar, and it's deep enough that he has to tap!</p><p> </p><p>

By submission, the winner is John Hathaway!</p><p> </p><p>

Round one begins! Lee avoids a right high kick. Lee steps in, feints a kick, then darts back out. Lee throws a combination of rights and lefts, using them as cover so that he can shoot in. Barao saw the takedown coming, he tries to grab a guillotine. Lee gets the takedown, but Barao has the guillotine choke! Barao gets the guillotine sunk in and Lee has to tap!</p><p> </p><p>

Renan Barao takes the win by submission!</p><p> </p><p>

And here we go! Hardy tries for a leg kick but Alves moves out of range. They come together and throw strikes, both miss. They exchange strikes, but neither fighter inflicts any real damage. Alves avoids a tight combination. Both throw strikes at each other, both easily defend the other's attempt. Alves steps back to avoid a kick to the body. Alves looks to be trying to close the distance between them. Alves can't get near enough to engage, Hardy uses strikes to keep him out of range. We pass the halfway mark of this round. We're into the final minute of the round. Alves counters a tight combination by hitting a crisp jab. Alves avoids a nice combination and hits a straight left. The time runs out on round one. Hopefully the next round will produce a little more in the way of action.</p><p> </p><p>

That has to go down as a 10-9 round to Alves.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2</strong></p><p>

We are back underway! Between rounds we could hear the corner of Hardy telling him to use a lot of movement. Hardy doesn't get drawn in as Alves feints a kick. Alves tries for a left jab but Hardy moves out of range. They exchange strikes, but neither fighter inflicts any real damage. Not comfortable in the pocket, Hardy steps back and creates some space. Hardy steps in but an exchange of strikes goes nowhere. Alves steps in closer to force the issue. Moving in closer, Alves looks like he may want to wrestle Hardy. Hardy ends up grappling for supremacy with Alves. The grapple breaks up after a short struggle, and the two fighters step apart. Alves side-steps a barrage of big punches and hits a stinging left jab. We've now passed the halfway mark in this round. A feint sets Hardy up for an inside leg kick, but Alves evades it. There is an exchange of strikes, but neither fighter does any damage. Alves steps back to avoid a tight combination of punches after falling for a clever feint. Advancing, Hardy counters a left jab by using a thudding right hook to the body. There's under a minute left in this round. Both fighters advance and strike, but neither hits anything. Round two is brought to an end as time runs out.</p><p> </p><p>

That was a very close round, but I think Alves just about edged it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3</strong></p><p>

There's the bell for the start of the round! A left jab misses and Hardy counters with a barrage of big right hands, knocking Alves down! Hardy quickly pounces, looking to rain down punches on the stunned Alves! Hardy fires away with punches, Alves is taking powerful shot after powerful shot! The referee is forced to jump in and stop the match!</p><p> </p><p>

The winner, by TKO, is Dan 'The Outlaw' Hardy!</p><p> </p><p>

Daly catches a weak right kick to the legs and uses it to go for a takedown, and gets it! Calderwood has to pull guard. Daly tries to pound on Calderwood with elbow strikes, but all the blows are comfortably dealt with. Daly leans back to avoid a couple of wild swings from Calderwood. Daly looks to pass guard and get side control. Daly is too much for Calderwood, passing guard and gaining side control. Daly looks to get a mount. Daly mounts Calderwood. We move into the second half of this round. Daly unloads with massive elbows from the mount, and Calderwood is getting destroyed! The referee has no option but to leap in and stop the fight!</p><p> </p><p>
